Yes, Setsuna F. Seiei and Heero Yuy are from alternate timelines: Anno Domini (Mobile Suit Gundam 00) and After Colony (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing) respectively. It's to my understanding that Mika takes his cues from these two, so when I first wanted to watch IBO, I went and watched SEED and Wing first. My one friend kept pushing me to watch 00 too, but, I took one look at Setsuna and was like, ow, ow, ow the edge, and turned away from it. I absolutely regret not getting into that show sooner.

(cont.) But yes, I’m referring to the dramatic entrances video and HOLY SHIT IS THAT CANON??? HIM BEING THE ONE TO SUGGEST PUTTING HASHMAL’S TAIL AND CLAWS ON THE BARBATOS????? If not, that’s a totally acceptable head canon that I approve of, and definitely agree with. Because that’d be just like Mika to think a huge tail and Fatality claws would look cool on the Barbatos. 

aldsjf i said “what if” he was ^^;  i don’t think it’s ever stated or written anywhere who the hell had the bright idea to give barbatos a tail?? it’s still pretty funny no matter what tho because either mika looked at this bird mechanical creature that nearly killed him and decided hell yeah add that shit on to barbatos, or one of the mechanics (the other dude for the turbines, with the mad scientist hair? he seems like he would) suggested adding that on and, presumably, got mika’s OK for it

The only show from UC I’ve seen is Unicorn, and based on that, I’m not the biggest fan.             

(cont.) But, I hear that Char Aznable has one of the more complex and human and well-written narrative arcs of the Gundam franchise. Him and Amuro, both. So at some point when I get my life together, I’m gonna sit down and watch UC all the way from the start (0079, the OG) up to Unicorn and then go back and watch The Origin and the side stories (08th MS Team, War in the Pocket, Thunderbolt, etc). And then maaaaayyyybbbeee Narrative and definitely Hathaway’s Flash when it comes out.

which is why i started searching for what the hell is going on with main-verse gundam when toonami first announced the origin’s airing. and after reading an article and then watching a helpful video i decided that yeah okay i’ll check the show out xp

i guess it’s a pretty good place to start? it’s like 13 episodes and is like a prequel?? only part-way thru the show so far (just getting introduced to that amuro fella) but i read that it - idk it streamlines some events from the original supposedly??? idk maybe one day i’ll check out the original…
