i think its so annoying whenever ppl r reposting "aesthetic" pics of dainty thin lined pastel colors little tattoos and someone says "this would not hold up after healing/in a few years" and everyone goes "oh so youre the fun police!! who cares!! its what they want!! dont be a hater!" etc etc like.. its called information? sure the tattoo is already on the person and thats a done thing and maybe they know its gonna fade and the whites are gonna look yellow-grey and the colors are gonna blur together and its gonna be an unreadable mess and maybe theyre fine w that. but the thing is youre posting all types of pics of these brand new tattoos that still look fresh saturated and perfect and that makes ppl think its gonna actually look like that, and we know very well many ppl dont do enough research before getting a tattoo to know that it wont stay like that. its perfectly fair to point out "this style of tattoo looks good at first but it does not stay like this long term" and people should probably do it more so that those getting them dont do it under the impression that the quality is gonna remain..

to answer the question, he definitely did, at the beginning - but that was still very early on in nico’s career, and his fan base was pretty small (at least compared to how it skyrocketed later that year). i think there’s a very fine line between joking that “haha these friends would make such a cute couple i ship!” (what will was doing) compared to certain “fans” who will insist on nico coming out and them having a public relationship/trying to find “hints” and “clues” that aren’t there/theorizing abt them having broken up, or them pining, or basically just invading nico (and will’s) privacy (what will is annoyed by/what other ppl are doing).

will ended up abandoning that acc when he got to college (1 bc he didn’t have time and 2 bc of people becoming too invasive). will def was egging it on back in hs, mainly just to counter the piper x nico rumors and bc he thought it’d be funny, but it became clear at some point that people weren’t seeing the joke aspect of the ship, and taking it way too seriously (bc even tho will thought it’d be funny, he didn’t actually want to out either of them).

the characterization in both of those games is soooo good especially if you watch almost everything ff7 related like i did (takes a while though)

it seems being nice doesnt get us far anymore yet we are taught things like manners and politeness or doing nice acts does get us fsr but it just means ppl can be meaner in response but those also dont seem to matter once people log in online all hell seems to break loose even if that sounds dramatic af. idk i think the issue is that when we r bored we have to look for sometning else to read or watch bc theres nothing physical abt whats online we r just oggling at what others are saying or doing online and reacting or overreacting to it. when none of it should matter in the long run but we overuse these devices as though they no longer have an off button as tho people couldnt just put them down long enough to have a normal thought, reaction or feeling without the internet deciding it for them.

so with every other hobby or interest now having a toxic side of the internet attached to it doesnt help anything either cause these devices seem to have given reasons for people to hold too much opinions of things that are quite irrelevant really

some say its bc theres no consequences anymore and that is very true but also maybe bc there isnt a break or an in etween rest period from the internet. screens are everywhere even if u go outside theres screens selling u stuff u dont want nor need or others are always on their phones and so on. i just dont get it anymore we cant put these down but we cant keep away from the sites or platforms so we cant truly be happy without having to consume something to do with social media and its driving me nuts if we dont have a social group of our own (for personal reasons or past situations ), honestly i want the internet gone but so much nowadays is relied on an internet system and its like ppl are so pessimistic and gloomy online and take it out on others or what have u

for instance u could in the good ole days put away the newspaper, put down the ipod or flipphone whenever u didnt need to use it 24/7 or couldnt bc it was harder to write paragraphs on those small devices, now its like we are constantly flooded with distractions and general negativity or junk entertainment that we dont want to be consuming and we need to always keep in touch with someone. its also like all the basic gadgets have become littered with features most often including the internet like we arent escaping it we are consuming it... over and over again in different forms

this is actually the best and most important advice ive seen on the internet before, but also It's sad that I cannot stop using the internet. I had tumblr since forever and ive grown to ignore the sexual content (this applies to the whole internet as well), and I know how to ignore proshipping and things that trigger me as well. I'm not going to tell everyone to stop doing something just because I had to live something bad. all I was asking for was for weird people to not interact with me. there are also moments when I just delete certain apps just in case they become dangerous for my well being, but overall I've already got used to the horrifying part of the internet when I was even younger.

of course it's not healthy to let a kid use platforms or to interact with all sorts of strangers when they have a traumatic past and what they see or hear might trigger them.

it's extremely complicated for me because I love my blog, I love being able to share my art without irl people going back and forth with how weird it is just because they don't know from what show it is and things as such. tumblr has got to be also the most supportive platforms (for example, if I had to share my ship art on Twitter or Instagram, I'd get jumped by everyone and my name will be put in a bad light) and I've met many ppl (mostly minors) that eventually became close friends to me.

this advice is incredibly useful to younger people who just started using the internet, but for me it's already a bit too complicated to follow it, I appreciate it tho.

again, my point is that I can and I will ignore material that triggers me, I just don't want a group of people (especially adults) who create that media to not interact with this blog. not interacting is easy, so please stop continuing this into becoming a debate

i think it's good to remember that we don't know the full situation. there are definitely a lot of moving parts to this whole thing that we don't know about and haven't seen, so a lot of what any of us feel is just a really big assumption. i don't think one party is the main villain or problem, i think all of them play a role in what we see and what we don't see, and the general issues that arise.

and while shea and stas are similar in a lot of ways they are also really different.

but since you are asking about my opinion, this is what i think based off of what i have seen and know (whether or not that's the whole truth is a different story altogether).

there is a lot of layers to this - a lot of which stem from colby and end up festering from the girls, so to speak. colby likes to stir the pot, that's been made clear for a while now. even more proof when he did stuff with amber and then apologized for it, only to do it again a year later with all those tiktoks they made. the difference is, amber isn't continuing the gag behind the scenes. and most importantly, colby is signing off on what gets posted with the two of them involved since he actively participated in it.

nonetheless, colby is a shit stirrer. but at the same time, he doesn't want to be talked about/doesn't like drama. so when he stirs the pot, he only wants it to happen for the amount of time he wants it, and then he wants it to stop. but the problem is, if you get the fandom riled up you don't get to decide when they stop being upset. and that happens time and time again. he likes the attention and he likes ppl talking about him; i mean, he is a social media person, that's kinda the whole nature around being one so i don't fault him for that. but when he gets tired of it, he wants it to stop immediately. but that doesn't happen, so he gets frustrated.

another issue with colby is that he has commitment issues and attachment issues, both of which he has admitted too. both of these stem from past bad experiences with love and continue to this day. the commitment issues cause him to be flaky towards women he is interested in and not go all the way into an actual relationship with them, even tho (from the outside) that is what it seems like they are in and what he wants. so he ghosts girls pretty frequently. and the attachment issues cause him to be clingy towards and constantly crawl back even if things are done.

so while he may not want to actually be in a relationship with certain women, he'll want all the things that come with a relationship without the label. but at the same time, he's scared to be with said women, so he's always one foot in the door one foot in the grave. he wants the girl to be into him, he's made that abundantly clear that he likes when the girls are really into/obsessed with him to some degree (at least to me). but the issues that follow are basically this - they end up wanting more (bc he seems to want more too), but then he gets uncomfortable with them wanting more and thus moves on. or the other option plays out - they play house for a bit, only for the girl to lose interest, and once she does he pretends to have never wanted it anyway and is already gone.

with all of this in mind, how does this play out with shea and stas?

shea is an interesting case since she is the original, the og, of all of this shit. they have been friends with one another for years now, since 2015/16. and as i've have speculated before, i think the reason why they are as close as they are is bc i think shea was there for him when his ex broke up with him way back when. i think her (and brennen) were the two ppl that kept him together bc him and sam were not in a good spot in their friendship (something they both admitted to) and sam was preoccupied with his new relationship with kat. colby was able to rely on shea for emotional support and brennen was there to be the single, fun guy friend to go partying with.

and i think bc of this, shea and colby grew really close with one another. the problem that arises is that to me, shea was in love with him. and as the years have gone by, i go back and forth between whether or not anything happened between the two of them - whether or not they were ever really a thing. bc shea likes to argue by either saying that her and colby were currently dating circa every year but the last two or so, or that colby liked her back then and she rejected him. for years, i used to argue that i don't think they ever were a couple, but now… i'm a bit on the fence. i think their deep connection can come across as one and has probably crossed some boundaries. do i think they ever called each other bf/gf and made it official? no. but i do think they had something going on at one point secretly, and now they're just friends with a muddy past.

the problem is, fans don't know that. so they read whatever's going on with them as either a 'will they won't they' or that they are secretly together. which is also why shea can get away with telling fans they are secretly a thing bc ppl already speculate it and think it to be true. plus if it's coming from her, why shouldn't they believe it? she's one of the parties involved.

however, this ends up making colby look like either the worse boyfriend ever or just a douchebag bc he's literally hooking up with other girls while shea is telling her goonies that they are basically ready to hit the courthouse (not really but you get my gist). i mean, prime example was when they did the most recently adventure buddies in 2020. shea's fans were talking about them finally being together again or finally getting together, but around that time colby was literally WITH someone else. so either he looks like a guy that can't keep his dick in his pants, or shea is a liar.

and while i think the first is true to some extent, the second is a fact regardless.

and the reason shea gets away with a lot of this stuff is for two reasons: one, colby truly does love her as a friend and allows most of this to happen bc he's never gonna see the negative side of a person he cares about and two, bc he likes teasing the fans too and her doing it probably goes mostly unnoticed by him. i think he knows to some extent the shit shea has done, but at the same time probably not all of it; mixed with the fact that i don't think he fully cares. bc nothing she has done has been heinous or really maliciously intended (for the most part, i'm assuming, to him). not to mention, most of the ppl shea has fucked with are either fans that adore her (so they forgive easily and don't make a big stink about it), fans that become haters (bc they're spreading negativity and that's a no-no to colby) that end up leaving the fandom, or are girls in his real life that he doesn't care to lose aka any of his hookups. none of the girls he's been with over the years were serious relationships, which is why shea can be his watch dog and loom over him and basically intimidate these girls bc he doesn't see them sticking around in the first place. and the only reason the shit that happened between amber and shea didn't become a bigger deal is bc amber is a grown adult woman, unlike shea who is still playing high school games, and probably doesn't fucking care what a random girl from the mountains has to say about her.

and after all of this, i still gotta talk about stas lol

so stas…. she's a very interesting tale. bc she did a lot of the same shit shea did: talking in gcs about colby, liking ship edits, posting content only of him and her (only behind a paywall), making content with him and her in it, ect. but the difference is - he actually put distance between him and her.

this alone, proves to me, that he never had feelings for stas. or was never interested in her more than platonically.

stas came into colby's life first back in 2019, but didn't become a prominent person until 2021, and then more so in 2022. from my understanding of what other anons have told me, stas has been talking about colby/snc since 2019, and has made that connection with fans way back when even tho she wasn't even close to snc, since at the time she was just known as kat's friend.

my guess to all of the shit that happened with stas is this: i think she had feelings for colby, and kat knew. kat then tried to pair her and colby up all the time during 2022 when the core four was a thing bc she wanted to help her out and wanted stas and colby to date. however, colby was already paying attention to another girl, six flags girl, and so he was never gonna be interested in stas. stas also came in around a time when shea and colby weren't doing so hot (shea complained about not being invited to their halloween party and then later the next year was liking comments on tiktok saying that fans ruined adventure buddies, so clearly they weren't doing too well. plus she also deleted comments about him from tiktoks.) and bc of that, he got close to stas and relied on her for emotional support. this further solidified her feelings for him, and while i don't think he played into them as heavily as maybe with shea, i think stas was already sculpting out a life with him and her dating, which is why i've dubbed her the y/n fantasy. she wanted to date colby brock and get all the fame and fortune that came with that. she likes fans attention, which is why even to this day she's still posting content about him behind a paywall.

what happened after all of this played out is truly anyone's guess, bc clearly after they all came home from europe, something went sour. and not just with colby and stas, but stas and the whole group (minus sam bc sam doesn't really have opinions unless kat allows him to have them). and that's why there was a period of time when stas was shunned from snc/kat. that's why we get her telling fans that she feels abandoned, that kat ignores questions about her, that she doesn't appear in any videos, that colby deleted shipping comments about him and her (and of him and shea too - which was a first). could all of this be from the fact that stas allegedly was telling fans where they were in europe so that's why ppl were able to find them? was it the fact that her roommate was liking tweets about fandom drama and shea? was it bc her mom was posting shit too? or maybe was it bc she amped up their whole """relationship""" to fans and once malishkagate happened, fans were literally congratulating colby and her for finally coming out as a couple? who knows for certain. what i do know is, she crossed a boundary and colby put distance between her and him. which is why she has a poem insta, and why she threw a fit (and then deleted all of the tweets) on twitter when she was in vegas and colby was out on a date with a girl.

so time passed, and once stas was out of the picture, shea came right back into it. then stas and colby became cool with one another, and now all of them friends again (well, except stas and shea. that would be a very weird friendship).

where does all of this leave us?

if i am to be so blunt: i think colby is terrified to be alone, which is why he can complain about being used in one breath but in the next not cut off the ppl that are in his life that do use him. he tolerates the games shea and stas play bc he himself likes to play games. not only that, but he also likes having attention on him - not only from fans but from the girls. and they don't seem to mind giving him what he wants. he likes girls that are into him too much bc then there is the guarantee that they aren't gonna leave him. but that also comes at the price that they walk over him and cross boundaries and constantly want more from him even tho he's not interested. or maybe he is, who fucking knows.

again, i don't think a single party involved is the main problem. they all are. somedays it's shea, others it's stas. and sometimes it's colby.

all i know for certain is that i'm tired of all of this. i regret ever getting into colby's love life, truly. especially now since it's the same players time and time again. at least throw in a random girl i've never heard of before lol

I moved the "one thing I do every day" as a way to kill time unfortunately :( and I over ate

Also I found out most of my friends meals are smaller then what we usually ate at home so that might be related also

Also I don't like working out even though I do enjoy sports, now that I look at that it's probably the showers, I try to avoid them if possible and if I work out I have to take one

So I just got fatter, and my fuckin tits that is so weird to address them cus I don't think of them as part of my body

I actually can barely grasp my body, I don't feel that it's mine I keep thinking of it as the "trans stigma" cus that's actually how I would like to look like, being able to look more like a boy, or being able to wear tighter clothes that I would actually enjoy if my chest didn't made me want to just take a fucking knife and slice them off, BE GONE go like butter, just smooth the surface and fix that shit.

Over all I wish I was strong enough to have (in my head, the ""right"") eating disorder, ik it's a horrible thing to say, a lot of people struggle with it and their body can get extremely hurt from that, one of my close friends have it and I see what it does

And I genuinely think I would prefer that and finally have the right body for me, idgaf for others and how they see me I want me to finally feel right, at least at this important thing for me

But I'm not strong enough to stop myself from eating, even if I do, unless I'm removed from the place I'll come back for that and I hate this

I'm working out for a while and there's this one noticeable thing that helps a tiny bit cus it's just a small access body fat, but it's working

I have cataplexy, I’m afab in my 20s. For me cataplexy attacks feel as though I am a top spinning and then slowly stopping, but with no control. I know that’s metaphorical, so I apologize.

Basically, I keep my consciousness, and I know what is going on, but my body becomes a rag doll, and I can’t hold myself up.

For me, this is usually happens in my jaw, my knees, my head, and my left leg, and sometimes my entire body. Basically, it just no longer will hold any weight. And I feel myself falling but can’t doing anything to stop it since my arms won’t move usually. And there is no ‘danger’ per day beyond getting injured as you fall. And driving is an issue for me.

It’s triggers by emotions, mine are usually shock/fear (so getting jump scared is like actually dangerous for me), and humor/laughing. I also find that happiness/excitement can trigger some cataplexy but not usually full body- it’s usually my jaw, leg, and hands. Idk why it’s different. I also remember everything with cataplexy attacks. I don’t always remember my sleep attacks tho- I think that’s part of the reason I went years without being diagnosed.

And I found that if I wake up and can feel it’s going to be a flare day (I wake up and feel like there are 20 weighted blankets on top of me), there are some precautions I can take but idk why they work. Eating banana chips, drinking lots of water with electrolytes, and singing. Seriously idk why singing helps but it nearly always completely stops my attacks in the short term. So when I do have to drive and am confident in my safety todo so, I sing the whole time as an extra precaution.

My sleep attacks are very much like previously mentioned- my body is telling to sleep now! And it’s not the ‘oh I’m sleepy 🥺’, it’s oh shit I can’t keep my eyes open and I can’t move my body and oh now I can’t talk, and I can’t see because my eyes are closed and then it goes black and then I wake up, sometimes not even realizing I was asleep. I’m pretty sure when I have a sleep attack that lasts for an extended time, ppl can touch and move me as if I was a rag doll and not wake up.

And ofc on the side of all of this, I’m constantly concerned about my safety- both in terms of if I fall somewhere and hurt myself or if I fall asleep and someone takes advantage of me in some way. There are narcoleptic service dogs and I’m tempted to see if I could train my dog to do such tasks. There’s also a depression aspect since it greatly limits what you can/are able to access. I get hyper-fixated on projects and end up running myself into the ground due to the passion leading me to not want to stop. (Real story- I work in museum collections and my supervisor has found me asleep multiple times among the collections I was working on, she made me get a medical bracelet in case anyone else found me and panicked).

I’m so lucky I found a job where everyone can and does both accommodate and respect my disabilities, my supervisor’s focus is accessibility in museums so it’s work out wonderfully. The university’s accommodations dept sucks so I actually don’t have anything on paper atm for accommodations. I get to choose to work from home on some days and have a very flexible work schedule, and I can also work on paper or on a laptop. And most of not all the meetings are over Zoom/Teams. It’s most accessible job I have had, but this is a new repository facility so it’s small and accessible.

There isn’t a ton of social media presence of type 1 narcolepsy so I wanted to add my 2 cents. I hope it helps!

i was wondering if you could explain how some of your narcolepsy symptoms feel? ive been noticing possible symptoms in myself lately and wanted to hear what symptoms feel like (ive been doing medical research as well!) Symptoms like:

daytime sleepiness

automatic behaviors

(if possible) cataplexy

sleep attacks (i think thats what theyre called?)

hello hi! sorry it took me so long to get to this i've been super busy with finals LMAO. symptoms can feel different for everyone but ill try my best to give you my experience!!

daytime sleepiness: for me this is basically just what it says on the tin. im really sleepy and tired during the day. contrary to what i believed for a lot of my life, it is not normal to feel tired during the day, every day!!

automatic behaviors: for me this manifests a lot when writing or walking. after my brain says to stop writing my hand keeps going, not really writing words anymore just like. kinda scribbling. same goes for drawing on paper. my hand just keeps going. and for walking, sometimes ill tell my brain to stop walking and ill keep going another few steps. theres probably some others i just don't notice because they don't happen as often but yeah those are the main two for me

cataplexy: i have narcolepsy type-2, aka narcolepsy without cataplexy, so i cant actually give you anything on this one, sorry! i know a couple of my followers do so feel free to add on if you want! or if you have cataplexy and just see this in the wild lmao

sleep attacks: from what ive been able to gather from talking to other people with narcolepsy, these manifest in a lot of different intensities for everyone. for me, sleep attacks are a sudden wave of extreme tiredness and my brain telling me "you need to take a nap Right Now". i'm able to push through and stay awake if i need to, but i really try not to because i'll end up with a killer migraine lmao

again, these symptoms can totally manifest differently for everyone, so i wouldnt totally discount narcolepsy as a possibility if my experiences don't match up with yours! all and all if you suspect even a little that you might have narcolepsy, i recommend talking to a sleep specialist(if you can obviously, ik it's not an option for everyone). i've said it before and ill say it again, narcolepsy is super under-diagnosed and mis-diagnosed because people don't know the symptoms/don't think the symptoms they notice "count" as narcolepsy, so yeah! do research! talk to a doctor if you can!!

Sometimes I really wanna write reviews or media based essays, and i have some written in a notebook, but I’ve never really felt safe sharing them. I’ve dealt with paranoia for many years and even now I am just getting comfortable setting my boundaries for who interacts with me online and feeling like I can state my opinions, even if they seem like very non controversial ones. I have a lot of thoughts about all sorts of things but I am so scared of confrontation that I even get worried leaving a good review for a restaurant or something.

professional social research scientist chiming in! don't feel like you need to answer this publicly but the stuff you described (e.g., getting pissed off abt someone liking different music than you) is indeed an extension of in-group/out-group dynamics in a sense, and there are several theories that this behavior is significantly amplified on social media which is designed (ahem...algorithms) to create these social groups "artificially" if you will. it doesn't make the experience less real of course, but it's very easy to fall into the illusion that your online experience is The Experience, and the opinions you receive feedback on in your circles are the widely held opinions by all folks online. social norms are also determined by/within these groups at lightning speed compared to offline, which can lead to the phenomenon of user groups expressing outrage over an issue/argument that other groups haven't even yet heard of. but that's just my two cents, if you are interested in the topic there are plenty of articles to read:-)
