CLJ Episode Recaps

Apologies about the font inconsistencies in the headers! I kept forgetting which font I used, so I've started saving files with the font names attached.

Anyway! We start off the ep strong with my fave things: swords & rock music. It's so badass, but then Orchid tells Moon Supreme to put away his sword. She apparently has enough magic to expel the evil magic that was controlling the ying zhao and return it to its original portable size.

This act of mercy baffles DFQC and he questions why Orchid allowed something that hurt her to live. I recognized a word that sounded like 仁慈 réncí, or humane, mercy, benevolence. (I originally named Yanli's sword that in my fic!) Orchid argues that it's only human to worry about the creature when it was already injured. Moon Supreme retorts that it was this pity that made her weak and got her hurt in the first place.

You've unlocked: CHILDHOOD TRAUMA!

Hearing that emotions aren't tethers apparently goes against everything his father instilled in him. The first brief flashback shows DFQC as a child tied up in red thread and crying out in pain. Later in the episode it's implied that DFQC's emotions were removed completely because his father saw them as stumbling blocks to his son's power.

That is 100% child abuse and I absolutely hate that!!!! I have a strong desire to sink my claws into DFQC's father, so I hope I get to see him suffer on screen later :)))

The elder immortals discover the evil energy & conclude that it's forbidden magic that only the Moon Tribe would know. How did it get into the heavenly realm?

Ofc evil magic needs a giant cauldron. Like the one Orchid was almost tossed into! We already knew that it was being used for nefarious purposes but what exactly does one need with refined evil energy?

I was right about Rong Hao! He's gathered his sexy assassin and is pissed at her for failing. She still has no idea that it's DFQC who thwarted her, but Rong Hao gets suspicious when he sees what's injured her.

Hellfire does sound like a sinister spell and genre savvy watchers know that there's always a magic type that's associated with the bad guys. I'll bet this is a Moon Tribe only spell.

The scene then switches to DFQC berating Shang Que for not properly protecting Orchid. After threatening to strip his scales and removing his tendons, Moon Supreme said he sensed evil energy in Haishi City when he rescued Orchid.

And now I finally get the answer to my question about how Haishi City plays into this. There are 3 realms, and it seems like Haishi City only came into being after the battle that sealed Moon Supreme. DFQC concludes that since Chidi Nvzi's Destiny Book was there, the Lord who rules it must be the keeper of her primordial spirit.

That still doesn't answer my other question of why the heavenly immortals don't know about it. When she sacrificed herself, did they assume that Chidi Nvzi's body was sealed in her sword? Maybe her body WAS sealed like DFQC's was, but it was removed...

But enough of that! It's time for a really touching moment between Orchid & Moon Supreme. She's upset that he cheated for her during the exam, but also at the idea of him leaving. She compares it to taking medicine and then suddenly being given candy. You never thought the medicine was bitter before because you got used to taking it every day.

Orchid has grown accustomed to being with DFQC and the realization that she'll be alone again when he's gone has set in. All this time, Orchid was lonely and never knew. Unfortunately, these emotions are unfamiliar and Moon Supreme doesn't understand the metaphor.

In case you didn't get enough sad flute music in The Untamed, this show has some too!

Rong Hao seems to be both deeply in love and deeply obsessed with his former master, who apparently calls him "A-Hao." He says that she's unbeatable and he is nobody.

It's apparently his hobby to play sad flute music and have a woman pretend to be his master until she fucks up and Rong Hao kills her. He didn't even call for the guards but they still came to remove the body, suggesting that this happens frequently. He's so fucked up! I love him so much.

Rong Hao investigates the Tower and discovers that DFQC has escaped, which should be impossible since only the Goddess of Xishan can restore souls. He immediately makes the connection between a fairy falling in and Orchid being able to purify the yin zhao. Rong Hao puts his theory to the test by presenting Orchid with an infected ice jade plant.

Just as suspected, Orchid is able to purify it and bring it back to life. She's the Goddess of Xishan and has no idea. That would explain the brief glimpse we got of a frozen tree and a woman's finger touching it.

I think that's the goddess sealed inside of Orchid and trying to break free. Interestingly, the thing that seemed to give her power was Moon Supreme questioning what he'd been taught. If Orchid does indeed have the goddess' power to bring things back to life, I think she's also inadvertently healing DFQC's emotional root that was removed as a child.

Now that he knows her true power, Rong Hao will def want to use her. After all, he is willing to do anything to bring his master back:

Behind him are horrific scenes of torture, which I presume is what happened during her life. I find it interesting that Rong Hao refers to himself as "A-Hao" when talking to her and says things like, "Don't be afraid."

He ticks all the boxes for my villain loving heart:

keeps a soulless body & talks to it

willing to rip the world apart to bring her back

a playful trickster in one realm and a ruthless, unhinged lord in another

2 am Texts - Professor Tom Holland (smut)

It was way past 2 am and Tom was still sitting in his office, grading the exams and papers that have kept him busy for the past hours. Only a small lamp illuminated the dark room, not helping Tom with his ever growing tiredness; he’d fall asleep soon, head hitting the table, comfortably placed on top of the papers.

He didn’t avert his gaze as he reached for his cup of tea, momentarily allowing the comforting scent to wrap itself around him, making him feel as if somebody had placed a warm blanket on his shoulders, gently hugging the young professor. His eyes threatened to fall shut, burning in exhaustion, a pain he couldn’t fight against.

The sound of his phone going off ripped Tom out of his thoughts, losing the line he had just reread for the fifth time. He reached for the device, unlocked it and clicked onto the message that had found its way to him. A text from an unknown number.

“Hi, where are you? Seems like Mace and Dane already left; currently freezing my ass off. xxx”

For a moment all Tom did was stare at the screen, debating leaving whoever had texted him on read. But the small, nagging voice in the back of his head told him to reply, to make sure that they were safe and not dealing with any problems at 2 am.

“Hi! Seems like you got the wrong number. Are you okay though? Do you need any help? Best, T.H.”

Tom reread the message a few times before he put his phone down, forcing himself to focus on the papers he was supposed to work on. But he couldn’t concentrate, his gaze wandered back to his phone, teeth sunk into his lower lip as he impatiently waited for them to text him back.

“Oh, I’m sorry for disturbing you! I’m okay, just trying to find a way home.”

Perhaps he should have left it at that, perhaps he shouldn’t have replied; but he did. Tom’s thumbs hit his screen over and over again, quickly typing his message with an uneasy feeling making itself comfortable in his chest. Something about this felt off, something about this situation left him wondering who the person on the other end of their messages was. Fuck, he was getting old; finding excitement in a stray text message like an old man who doesn’t have anything else to do.

“Can I help you? Should I send you an Uber?”

He counted the seconds till they replied, thumbs hovering over his screen like a mad person addicted to this device. It was pathetic, perhaps even stupid, but he couldn’t stop waiting for their text, it had something exciting to it - texting with a stranger that is.

“Thank you so much, but I already got in an Uber now! Sorry again for disturbing you!!”

Tom’s heart skipped a few beats, he didn’t want their conversation to stop there and then, but he also didn’t want to come off as a creep. Once again the young professor found himself debating deleting the chat, losing the number he had never heard from before; but he didn’t.

“Alright, if you want to, text me when you made it home safely.”

And she had texted him the second she had stepped into her home; she even had shared her first name with him, (y/n). That night Tom had fallen asleep with a smile tugging on his lips, with his heart beating in anticipation and his blood ringing in his ears. She also hadn’t stopped texting him the next day, when he had replied to the message she had shot him, sharing her whereabouts, and a few more details about herself.

Now, as it was already late in the afternoon, Tom was still texting (y/n).

“Tell me,Tom, what do you do, besides texting girls you don’t really know?”

He found himself overthinking her messages, growing nervous whenever her name would pop up on his screen. But his nervousness had something addicting to it, something he was chasing like the highest waves he’d surf in summer. And like the sun burning down on him whenever he was getting lost at sea, she seemed to follow him around, growing comfortable in his thoughts.

“I work as a history professor. What about you, besides going to parties and being ditched by your friends?”

Tom had a hard time focusing, eyes forced away from his screen as his students started entering the room, hoping to find an empty seat. His heart sunk, now he’d have to turn off his phone, having to stay away from texting (y/n). It was pathetic, making him feel like a stranger obsessing over a person they’ve walked past once, nevertheless he found himself longing to learn more about her.

With his thoughts starting to wander once again, he couldn’t help but paint a picture of her in his mind. What did she look like? Was she taller than him? Had she brown eyes or more colourful ones?

But before he fell deeper into his thoughts like Hades obsessing over Persephone, trying to force her closer, he reached for his phone once again.

“History?! I study history and English literature, and mind you, I rarely go to parties.”

A sigh bled from his lips as Tom placed his phone down; he rose from his seat, tried to clear his thoughts, and started his lesson. Perhaps his students noticed the shift in his behaviour, he seemed nervous as if he was late to something important; perhaps they noticed how his gaze wandered down to his phone whenever he got a moment to breathe; but perhaps they didn’t pay him any attention, too focused on writing down what he spoke out loud.

Was she interested in the topics he was teaching? Will they be able to share ideas and thoughts about their interests? Questions he’d chase till his lesson ended.

“Professor?” A girl spoke up, drawing his eyes to her frame. He had seen her a few times before, she was gorgeous, a face one wouldn’t ever forget about – thoughts Tom had tried to stay away from – she was his student after all. “Would you mind going deeper into this topic for a moment? I wonder how they managed to attack if they had built their camp like that.”

Tom started explaining tactics, plans and weapons, eyes not straying from hers once. And for a few minutes he found himself distracted, no longer thinking of the stranger he had been talking to, though of the war he was teaching about. For a moment everything was back to normal, boring and mundane, a steady atmosphere he had been chasing for years now.

“If you have any further questions, feel free to visit me in my office hours. That’s all for today, I will see you next week.”

Like an addict longing for a cigarette, Tom reached for his phone, fingertips burning from being pushed against the screen with as much pressure. A grin tugged on his lips as he typed his response, barely paying his leaving students any attention.

“What area are you focusing on? Anything exciting?”

“Can I see a picture of you? I’d like to know what the person who keeps spamming me looks like.”

A snort left Tom as he read (y/n)’s message. By now he was all too used to her teasing, her bickering and the sarcastic messages he sometimes had a hard time understanding. No longer was he worrying about overstepping any invisible lines; no longer was he scared of annoying her; no, by now Tom was all too used to the tone of her messages; he was desperately trying to keep up with her.

Even though Tom felt like he had known (y/n) for years, the voice in the back of his head kept growing louder, warning the professor about sending pictures that could give away more of his identity. It took him a while to scroll through his pictures, finding a blurry one that didn’t show enough to focus on his face.

“I’m afraid this is all I can share for the time being; I think it’s only fair you send me one as well.”

Tom counted the seconds it took her to reply, his heart started racing, not knowing what to expect. Over the past days the picture he had been painting with his thoughts had gotten clearer, thoughts that could now evaporate into thin air like smoke hitting the grey sky, blending in with the night. With his teeth pierced into his lower lip, he opened their chat, freezing as his eyes fell upon the picture she had messaged him.

It was his student. The girl he had been speaking to today.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. The phone fell from his hand as Tom threw his head back, allowing a deep groan to rumble through him. Of course this would happen to him. Of course fate would play a trick like that on him. He should block her number, should move on and never speak nor think of this again.

But he couldn’t. Just the mere thought of cutting (y/n) off left his heart aching; so, he did what he shouldn’t do, he texted her back.

“You’re absolutely gorgeous.”

Something inside of him clicked as if he had shut off the light inside his soul, luring the darkness out of the deepest corners of his body. He scrolled through his pictures again, stopping on a picture he had taken after another hard gym session. The picture showed off his sweat covered abs, chiselled from years of hard training, and parts of his face that could easily give away his identity if she’d stare at the picture for long enough.

He shouldn’t send it to her, shouldn’t give into the calling that forced his thumbs to move, but he did – like a man whose thoughts were clouded by something sinister, a sick motive he found no shame in. Tom didn’t think twice before sending it to her with a simple “maybe you’ll enjoy this one too”.

His smirk began to widen as he saw the three dots appearing, she was texting him back, typing a reply that would hopefully keep their conversation alive. For a moment he allowed himself to breathe, to close his eyes and deeply inhale.

What was he doing? Trying to sext with his student? The one he’d study every now and then when his eyes began to wander; the one that would instantly manage to catch his attention, unlike the rest of his students?

“For somebody who doesn’t want to show off his face, you seem quite confident in showing off your body. I’m not complaining though.”

Tom’s deep laugh echoed through his house, and with the shake of his head he got back to texting.

“We can always go back to sending one another pictures of our food, if you prefer that.”

A storm was raging outside, rain kept hitting his windows as if mother nature herself was trying to stop the young man from doing this. Whatever this was. A harmless chat? Something more his brain couldn’t yet decipher?

The sound of thunder rumbling through the night momentarily distracted Tom, eyes drawn away from his screen. He was engulfed by darkness, a darkness that allowed him to feel protected, as if his identity was hidden by the veil he found himself chasing. And as his eyes wandered back down to his phone, he felt all air leaving his lungs, having a hard time breathing.

(Y/n) had messaged him another picture, showing off more of her body, the skin his hands longed to explore. Blood started rushing to his twitching cock, fingers trembling in need, and for a fraction of a second all Tom could do was stare; breathe and stare.

The memories of the night prior stuck to Tom. It hadn’t taken much more for the two of them to spiral into a conversation filled with teasing messages, pictures that showed off more than they should, and words they now couldn’t take back.

He had painted his phone screen white within minutes, growling the name of the girl who had started sending him voice messages. And now, as Tom sat in his office, waiting for students to visit him, he couldn’t help but feel guilty. He knew who she was - his student - and yet he hadn’t stopped texting her; yet he had urged her on, had guided her to the highest high with dirty words and a few simple tricks.

“Professor?” His eyes snapped to the entrance of his office, cheeks burning red as his gaze found her frame. Fuck. “I’m sorry for disturbing you. I have a few questions about the paper.”

“Please, (y/n), sit.” Her name rumbled through him before he could stop himself. For a second both froze; though for completely different reasons. While (y/n) felt pride simmering inside of her - not expecting the handsome professor to remember her name - Tom cursed himself for being this stupid. He’d ruin this before she could speak another vowel.

Slowly she walked up to him, (y/n) sunk down in the chair vis-a-vis his, she placed her phone down on the table and reached for her laptop. Tom’s gaze lingered on her phone, and once again his cheeks started burning, in embarrassment; in shame; and in pride. He studied her every move, trying to distract his wandering thoughts.

“I,” (y/n)’s eyes started to focus on his features, she was staring at him with something laced in her gaze he couldn’t decipher. “First I wanted to know how you feel about this as my overall research question?”

He read through the paper, oblivious to the way she studied him. Tom could barely focus on the words she had scribbled down, the memories of last night found their way back to him like a criminal forced to remember what they had done.

“I like it, it’s a bit broad though, perhaps focusing on one year instead of the whole century would help you.” Tom’s eyes met hers, and as if lightning had struck their bodies, both of them froze, growing uncomfortable in their seats. She didn’t reply, at least for another moment or two. She knew, Tom was sure of it, and now he had to decide whether to address what was going on or to ignore her behaviour.

“Anything else I can help you with, (y/n)?” But she only shook her head, murmured a small ‘no, thank you’ and packed her bag. No further words were spoken as she rose from the seat and started walking towards the door. Seconds Tom’s mind used to push him towards speaking up, tongue kissing his teeth, lips burning in anticipation.

“(Y/n), wait.” Once again she froze, eyes searching his. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have.”

The rest of his words hung in the air, but (y/n) seemed to understand what he was talking about. She didn’t move, gave him another moment to speak up. But Tom kept quiet, a quietness she filled with a laugh rumbling through her.

“I was quite sure about your identity last night, but I didn’t want to raise my hopes.” Raise her hopes? Like sand falling through an hourglass, his worries slowly but surely let go of him. One by one. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anybody about this, professor.”

“Come here.” It was a simple command he spoke, full of curiosity, wondering - hoping - that she’d give in. Tom rose from his comfortable chair, he watched her approach, bag placed back down on the ground once again. No further words were spoken as (y/n) came to a halt in front of him. Slowly he raised his hand, he placed it on her cheek, thumb running along the lips he had been dreaming about.

He moved slowly, wanting to give her enough time to move away. But she didn’t, all (y/n) did was part her lips, allowing Tom to push his thumb down on her tongue. A silent ‘fuck’ rumbled through the man, the devil was tempting him, waiting for the professor to start touching his student.

“Can I?” (Y/n) nodded her head, and that’s all Tom needed to pull his hand away and to push his lips against hers. Her silent moans clawed through her, it filled every part of her body, exploding through the layers of flesh like a bullet ripping open her skin. They moved back to his table, bodies colliding with the surface, a pain (y/n) couldn’t pay any attention to.

Impatient hands started exploring her body, he helped her onto his table, giving himself enough space to stand between her thighs. Tom’s lips moved down her throat, he was trying to map out her body, praying that this wasn’t his only chance of exploring every part of her beautiful self.

“Tell me to stop and I will. I need to hear that you want this, darling.” His raspy voice left her trembling, eyes struggling to stay open, distracted by the waves of heat his touch elicited, pushing the new sensation through her system.

They were playing a dangerous game, a game both would lose within the next moments. Neither Tom nor (y/n) was strong enough to go against the pleasure thumping through their bodies, forced to follow the commands their bodies were sending out. The warmth of his chest was radiating through her, his scent wrapped itself around her like a drug silencing her conscious thoughts.

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? Literally so many ... although most of them are from ye olden days. Like right now I only have 5 fandoms on AO3 (Untamed, Shadowhunters, Teen Wolf, Avengers, and one fic for The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty), but on my old fic page I also had Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, A;tLA, and Firefly, as well as a bunch of anime fandoms: Tokyo Babylon/X99, Yami no Matsuei, Weiss Kreuz, Card Captor Sakura, Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yuugi, Gundam Wing, Durarara!!, One Piece, Bleach, D. Gray-Man, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hikaru no Go, Rurouni Kenshin, Loveless, Naruto, and Saiyuki. A lot of those were just a few drabbles, though. I am probably more surprised than you are to see some of those fandoms on this list. *insert ‘I have no memory of this place’ gif*

Divided We Stand - still unsure of why this got the popularity it did. Sure, it’s good, it’s fun, but I don’t think it’s ... great? But it’s a super popular trope.

If someone has asked a specific question, or made a comment I really feel needs to be addressed, then sure. But usually no - I have trouble keeping up, and I can really only type ‘Thanks!’ so many times before I feel like a tool.

6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I wrote some X/99 fics that were pretty depressing. The only one I specifically remember is And From the Ashes, which I got peer pressured into giving an unhappy ending lmao.

7) Do you ever write crossovers?

I’ve written a few back in the day. These days I tend to write fusions. I did write that pretty epic Teen Wolf/Shadowhunters crossover though.

8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

LOL, of all varieties and varying levels of competence.

9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have written plenty of smut in the past, and some of it I think was pretty good! These days I don’t. I’m really not sure why? I just don’t feel the need to include it any more. Some mild lime (ogodI’msoold) is the most I bother with.

10) Have you ever had a fic stolen? lmao someone once took Divided We Stand and published it on Amazon without even changing the character names or taking out the AO3 header. I think that takes the fucking cake. But it’s happened a few other times, too.

11) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Several times! Back in the day with my besties and my sister, and these days sometimes with my wife. I have co-written with online friends a couple times but I find it difficult.

1. Why did you choose your url?

I always was obsessed with The Lord of the Rings, that's probably my fave movies and book I've ever seen and read in my entire life. So when I was in the process of making this blog I decided I want a name that has a connection to this obsession of mine but still wasn't a fandom-ish. You know like all of these "Legolas's-first-slut" or "want-to-live-in-middle-earth" 😂 I love these, but this blog was made for music purposes so I wanted a neutral URL. So eruvande is basically my own name in quenya - an ancient elvish language.

Yes! @errruvande is a side blog for my Tolkien obsession only!💗 For my LOTR/TH writings and shitposts.

1. Why did you choose your url?

My username is so weird lol I get asked this all the time and I wish I had a better answer but I literally just love videos of those hairless cats taking baths. I also think the word nakey is really funny which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about me. I didn't plan on posting fic when I came up with this name and now I'm too attached to it to change it to something practical or more poetic.

2. Any side blogs?

None currently but there are some old ones lingering around...

Somewhere out in the universe is a hipster blog filled with poetry and short stories about boys who didn't like me back in high school but it is long lost and I have no idea what it is called. It is probably a repurposed to scam people into clicking RayBand Sunglasses links by now. There's also a really really old Dramione fic blog running around somewhere that I used when I wrote in the Harry Potter fandom.

No need to talk about my "fitness" blog that was basically thinly veiled orthorexia

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

I think since just before the height of the popularity so like 2010? I fell out of it with everyone else and was really pleasantly surprised to find that people are still hanging around here when I came back two years ago haha

No. I'm highly impulsive and a terrible planner. If you see posts on here, I am here haha I don't have that kind of foresight.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Honestly I have no idea, I was having a tough time and wanted to write and the rest of this has just been a really happy accident.

It's real cute isn't it?! It's so hard to find aesthetic faceless pics with brown skin so I had to take the opportunity. It's just so vibey, isn't it?

Yellow is such a joyful color!

I'm not very tech savvy I have no clue how to figure this out? It's probably a moodboard of some kind! I'm not big on text posts haha

I have literally no clue. But I have made sooooo many truly incredible friends on here. I'm infinitely grateful for all of them. Y'all have become such a genuine source of joy and support in my life, I truly cannot express how much you mean to me.

982 and I suspect a significant percent of those are porn link accounts and spam because at least one of those follows me a day. Idk what the point of follower counts on here is, but I love all of you, even the Pornbots. This account is also super old so some of them might be dead blogs too.

I notoriously hate my phone and I have this app that lets you grow a tree if you don't use your screen. It's very cute, I grew 5 peach trees today. But long story short, it's not super often, maybe once a day. I try to check notifications every day though because I do absolutely love interacting with y'all.

14. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog?

Hahahah I wish I was bold enough to do this because I've been tempted to do it more times than I can count but conflict makes me squirm and also cry. I do get intensely annoyed when I see tone-deaf discourse about mixed race people though so I'll always go to bat for that one.

I did lose my shit one time and tagged something as "nakeycats has fucking snapped" which haunts me in my tags to this day and makes me laugh now.

15. How do you feel about the ‘you need to reblog’ posts?

I get it. I mean, I'm not one to tell people what to do and I don't always love the tone it takes on but the general sentiment of it isn't unfounded. There has been a general shift away from reblogging even though it's the only way content gets traction on this site. From a content creation standpoint it's disheartening to put work out there and know that nobody is seeing it. So much love and work goes into writing and it really does suck sometimes. That said, people are going to do what they're going to do, it's not going to stop me from putting work out there.

16. Do you like tag games?

I adore tag games! I love everything about them! Every time I get tagged in one it's like "me? really?" and then I consider us to be besties haha.

17. Do you like ask games?

I really like them and I used to love doing them when we did BWC! Some of the games get hard to keep track of now but this was such a good way to meet people and I'm grateful for it. That said, I LOVE ASKS. If you ever need to vent or rant or tell a joke or chat or practice your emoji usage HMU I'm always down.

18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?

Is Tumblr famous still a thing? I would probably just tag my friends in this since they're all famous to me and I'm convinced a lot of them will be famous one day for writing or creating in some way ( @stealing-jasons-job and @queenemori specific point to you in particular)

I will give a special shout-out to @burninghoneyatdusk because I was a massive fan of her writing and then we became mutuals and I was like "omg!! the author of this fic love! A star is following me back!" haha so that was a fun moment when I was first dipping my toes in the fandom and it did feel like someone famous followed me. Also she is rad and very humble considering how talented she is.

→ first creation and most recent creation of 2020: first creation of this year was actually skirt chasers - drabble i on april 23rd (yes april, she was a late bloomer -_-) after not writing for 6 months so it was very special to me ! the most recent creation was commercial break ; EIGHT on dec 29 where i rlly got to flex my ability to make up stories as i go 🤩

→ one of your favorite creations from 2020: of course i have to say netflix & chill that's my baby!!! i had a real fun time writing the original, and i don't think i could have imagined how popular it would become 🥺 also the series has allowed me to try writing so much freaks shit that EYE aint even know i was into good grief.....

→ a creation you’re really proud of: some way some how !! i wrote that entire fic in less than two days, shit was coming straight off the domeeeeee and also i feel like my storytelling in that fic was one of the best i’ve ever done !!

→ a new style you tried this year and a gifset/fic that uses it: since all of my fics revolve around pretty silly plot lines, i tried to do a more serious story with BORN SINNER; it has a couple deeper topics that i’ve never tried before, so i’m excited to see how that turns out!!

→ a creation that took you forever: explorer -_- that shit took me two whole months to write !!! i was so unsatisfied with the story and kept rewriting it until the very end of september. in the end, i can say I'm really happy with how the story turned out and the world building i somehow managed to do... also i love me some alien kook <3

→ your creation from 2020 that received the most notes: again, netflix & chill for the win lol. this baby has amassed 2.4k notes since it was posted in june, am i proud yes, am i shocked, also yes

I was tagged by @stanfordsweater for this getting to know you game. Thanks so much for the tag! 😊💕 There’s a clean copy at the end for people who want to do this.

1. why did you choose your url?

It was already my user name on AO3 (and maybe some other sites, can't recall) and I wanted consistency across platforms (since I joined tumblr for fandom). And here's the pretentious part: if you didn't know, it's a reference to Hamlet, which is one of my favorite written works ever. Elsinore is the name of the castle where it takes place, so the prince of Elsinore is Hamlet ^^;

2. any sideblogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.

I have two, though I'm not gonna name them lol (they're not exactly secret but they're old news). When I first joined I wanted my main to be not totally fandom-dominated (whoops so much for that) so I made a side blog for my main fandom at the time (Hetalia), where I now reblog fanart every once in a blue moon. And I made another side blog for my fic. I still occasionally post on the fic blog but since my main is now basically completely spn anyway, I've just been posting my spn fic on main.

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

Since... 2012, I think? But not consistently. I hadn't used tumblr much in years before last fall and even considered deleting my blog multiple times, but spn ending (and the pandemic) brought me back stronger than ever ^^;

4. do you have a queue tag?

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

If only I could remember... Well, it was for fandom (mostly--also some history blogging) but I don't remember the specific impetus. As mentioned my main fandom was Hetalia at the time, and within that mostly German bros stuff. I also distinctly remember lurking on a lot of Sherlock blogs prior to joining 😬(my how tastes things change)

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It's a Leyendecker illustration! I love his work so so much (so many dapper men, so much homoeroticism 👌). The piece is Easter-themed and I don't actually know why I chose it. This fop is a far cry from his usual suave dudes, but idk, I guess I liked how ott and fancy it is. It also matched the old flowery aesthetic of my blog before I changed the theme.

7. why did you choose your header?

Lol ok so that's a photo I took (on my first visit maybe?) at Sans Souci palace in Potsdam, Germany. It was the residence of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, who--as anyone will know if they remember my blog days of yore--is my favorite historical figure! The glove is not mine. I found it like that :)

8. what’s your post with the most notes?

As I suspected, this one I made defending Jared's "controversial" comments post-finale. Sort of funny because I'm not even a Jared stan 🤷‍♂️

9. how many mutuals do you have?

No idea

10. how many followers do you have?

Just passed 550, which I know isn't many relatively speaking but wow I certainly never expected to see the day! I've gained about 300 followers since I started posting about spn, which utterly baffles me, but hey I'm glad if you guys are enjoying yourselves!

11. how many people do you follow?

Oh, wow, I just looked and it's over 1,000 😳 I guess b/c over the years I've gone on multiple following sprees and only unfollow if people really really annoy me or if I just get really tired of their content (I do continue to follow a lot of people who post about fandoms I'm not in). I feel like I usually see the same <50 blogs on my dash, though, so I'm guessing about 900 of the blogs I follow must be completely inactive lol.

13. how often do you use tumblr each day?

Varies. Over the past months I would check it every hour or more, felt like (not v conducive to getting work done orz). Recently (due to being away from my computer more often, now that the semester and my old job are finished) only a couple times a day, mostly at night.

Hm, not really. Nothing more than a couple snarky or passive-aggressive asks, and not for years (aside from that anon anti hate I got sort of recently--my first ever! I would say I win that one by default, y'know, just for not being the person sending anon hate). I did get into a pretty drawn-out debate with a Dean stan about Dean's death and Jared's comments on it--see above--but I wouldn't classify it as an argument.

15. how do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?

Very Tired and skeptical

Yes they're great! Always make me smile (even if I don't participate I always appreciate the tag!) 😊

Yes, although I have to be careful about posting them because while I love getting asks in theory, getting them means I have to answer them! 1. Why did you choose your url?

It's a play on one of my fave songs (and albums) of all time -- Recovering the Satellites - Counting Crows -- which is why i made it my AO3 handle. When i joined tumblr the name was taken, so i made it ThisOneSatellite, which is a nod to that song plus the fact that i usually like to observe more than join things.

2. Any side blogs?

No.

3. How long have you been on Tumblr?

April 2019.

4. Do you have a queue tag?

Yes. It's 'what are q looking at'. 'Cause i'm creative, see.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Because @profdanglaisstuff left a lovely AO3 comment on my second fic and asked if i "was on tumblr". i'd heard of tumblr, kind of, and couldn't quite fathom just what it was, but then i thought, oh hell, just do it.

Nothing in the world could have prepared me for what was to come - i didn't even know what a fandom was. i had No. Idea. But it's been a hell of a ride so far and i'm so glad i decided to go!

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

i don't have an icon.

7. Why did you choose your header?

Because it's the joke that's made me laugh the loudest, out of all the funny things i've ever found across the interwebs (and there have been many).

Thanks for the tag @b3autyfuldisast3r I’m looking forward to getting to know you better.

1. Why did you choose your url? I chose it for two reasons. Our Winchester Boys wear plaid so well and plaid is associated with Christmas. I love the magic of that time of year. So those.

2. Any sideblogs? I have a few but I’m not really active on any of them. I will mention @raven-in-plaid-library. I can’t remember the last time I updated it. The plan is to put all my fics there along with my faves by other writers. I want to get back to that.

3. How long have you been on tumblr? 4 1/2 years

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? I was in love with SPN and heard someone mention Tumblr at a convention. It sounded like something I needed to check out.

6. Why did you choose your icon? Because it’s Jared looking beautiful.

7. Why did you choose your header? I like seeing Jared and Jensen all dressed up to celebrate something they accomplished together.

14. Have you ever had a fight/argument with another blog? Who won? I wouldn’t call it a fight but I have experienced some ugliness that looking back on it I think was caused by the stress of the pandemic. I choose to believe that people are in a better place now and it wouldn’t happen again.

15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts? Usually I think “yes, I need to reblog this” at least if it’s something I’ve been tagged in because the person bringing it to my attention knows me so well that they are spot on about the reblog thing.

Interview with Sophia Jirafe

Seven of Sophia Jirafe’s fics are at Gossamer, but more of her X-Files stories are at AO3 (as sophiahelix). I’ve recced some of my favorites of her stories here before, including Stones and Bones. She was active in the fandom during the show’s run and has never strayed far from fandom in general. She co-founded Glass Onion, a great multi-fandom mailing list that now has nearly 1,000 fics from 100 fandoms at AO3. Big thanks to Sophia Jirafe for doing this interview.

Does it surprise you that people are still interested in reading your X-Files fanfics and others that were posted during the original run of the show (1993-2002)?

It did initially, but so many old shows are on streaming now and getting discovered by new people, it makes sense.

I did get a comment from someone who said my first story under this name, posted in early 2000 when I was a college freshman, was older than her by a couple of months, and THAT took me aback.

What do you think of when you think about your X-Files fandom experience? What did you take away from it?

It was my first fandom, discovered when I was 17 and searching for info about the show on the school library computer, and it really shaped my whole life! I met a lot of people I still know today (mostly in non-fannish venues like FB, though I do still have some connections in fandom), and learned a lot about writing and just life generally, since I was younger than most of fandom at the time.

Social media didn't really exist during the show's original run. How were you most involved with the X-Files online (atxc, message board, email mailing list, etc.)?

I started off on a tiny forum at a website called Squirrel’s Nest, but I kept seeing people thanking Scullyfic in fic headers and eventually I was able to join the mailing list (which was capped to 500 members). Scullyfic was everything to me — I made friends, betas, discussed the show, learned about all kinds of things on Off-Topic Fridays, etc. A lot of those friends, I would email with or more often chat on AIM (individual or these sprawling group chats that would go on all day), and then at the end of 2001 we started migrating to Livejournal. I was getting into Buffy more by then, but it was still mostly the same crowd of people I knew from Scullyfic.

What did you take away from your experience with X-Files fic or with the fandom in general?

I feel like it started me on a whole life path really — finding that my deep obsession with fiction could be channeled like that and shared with other people, as well as deepening my writing. Online fandom has been a major part of my social life for over 20 years now, and I love the mix of getting excited about things with friends and also the creative outlet.

My corner of X-Files fandom in particular was just very calm and enjoyable for the most part, full of older professional women who were happy to be friends and give me advice about all kinds of things, and it really set the bar for me with my online interactions. Now I’m almost 40 and trying to be that person for my younger friends, as well as having no patience for toxicity and in-fighting in my fandom spaces.

What was it that got you hooked on the X-Files as a show?

A combination of the creepy conspiracy angle and just adoring Scully. I remember how mysterious and fascinating the show seemed when I discovered it right before S5, and there was no way to find out more except to keep watching and hoping they explained. Scully was so smart and tough and beautiful and interesting, and as a teen I was just captivated by her (and the UST, though I didn’t care about Mulder as much).

What got you involved with X-Files fanfic?

I ran across it a couple times early on but felt embarrassed by the concept, but then I read the first in Karen Rasch’s Words series and suddenly it clicked for me. After a while I started daydreaming my own conversations between them, very similar to what happens to me now when I’m getting into a new pairing, so after reading tons of recommended fic by big authors, I started writing my own (the 3-4 stories I posted in high school are all wiped from the internet now, though).

What is your relationship like now to X-Files fandom?

Good memories, though because it was my senior year of high school and college, I know a lot of it is just tied to that time in my life, and also being in my very first fandom. I will rewatch episodes from time to time, but I basically never revisit former fandoms because they’re kind of like exes, even if I finished on a good note. I also think my taste in fic has changed (and there isn’t the same novelty of “characters I like getting together omg!”)

Were you involved with any fandoms after the X-Files? If so, what was it like compared to X-Files?

So many! None of them had quite the same combination of excellent central architecture (especially pre-AO3) and a really high level of discussion and friendliness without being enormous, but I’ve loved them all in their own ways. I’ve done fandom on LJ/DW, Tumblr, Discord, and now on Twitter, and I think I miss the mailing list days the most. You didn’t have to repeat yourself so much in multiple conversations, you weren’t character limited, and the discussion was all in one place, with personal stuff more confined to your side conversations. Discord is a little like that, but it moves too fast and there’s too much noise for my taste.

Who are some of your favorite fictional characters? Why?

Heh, after X-Files I went through a whole phase of faves in the Scully vein — Buffy, Aeryn Sun, Kara Thrace, etc. Like many people I’ve shifted primarily into m/m in the last decade (Sherlock, YOI, and recently The Untamed have been my major fictional fandoms, along with a lot of sports RPF), but for non-fannish shows I’m always looking for awesome new female characters, like Elizabeth on the Americans, Peggy on Mad Men, Nadja on What We Do in the Shadows, etc. And I do LOVE Killing Eve and have written a little f/f over there.

Do you ever still watch The X-Files or think about Mulder and Scully?

I’ll rewatch favorite episodes occasionally, and I keep thinking about a full rewatch but it takes so much time! I never saw the second movie, and I didn’t finish the first of the new seasons because I was hating it, so it’s a little hard for me to think fannishly about them when I disliked basically everything after “Je Souhaite” so much (as far as I’m concerned the show ends there).

Do you ever still read X-Files fic? Fic in another fandom?

X-Files no, but yeah I’m still very active in fandoms.

Do you have any favorite X-Files fanfic stories or authors?

I lost all my saved fic several computers ago, but I recall loving “Blue Christmas” by Plausible Deniability and “Diamonds and Rust” by MustangSally (obviously everything she wrote was great).

What is your favorite of your own fics, X-Files and/or otherwise?

Looking at my X-Files fic, I can’t believe how short it is and how comparatively little of it there is (I have lost track of a few ficlets). It felt like such a big deal to finish anything back then! I think my favorite remains Alphabetum, which involved a tricky structure and 5 elements given by people as part of the Scullyfic Improv challenge, where you had a week to write a story around those elements.

My favorite of my recent fic in fictional fandoms is probably the GoT/YOI crossover novel I wrote a couple years ago, for a completely opposite experience to this (and proof you can grow as a writer with a lot of effort!)

Do you think you'll ever write another X-Files story? Or dust off and post an oldie that for whatever reason never made it online?

It’s honestly hard to imagine going back (like I said, I usually don’t), but I guess I could get inspired by something.

Do you still write fic now? Or other creative work?

I certainly still write, and I do have to give credit to XF fandom and Scullyfic in particular for giving me the start I got, where I really wanted to be writing good fiction. The few things I wrote in high school were just me jamming out romantic cliches, but the people I was lucky to know in XF fandom showed me that “just” fanfic can still aspire to be high quality. I am a much, much better and more disciplined writer than I was back then, but I might never have started on this path without fandom friends encouraging me.

Where do you get ideas for stories?

Usually just daydreaming about emotional dynamics between characters/people, but sometimes something specific in canon or real life (I write a lot of RPF) gets me going, or maybe something I read.

What's the story behind your pen name?

When I wrote for X-Files, I picked “Sophia Jirafe” combining my favorite first name with a fancy spelling for my favorite animal (I was 18! Don’t judge!) Over on Livejournal, my friend Jintian and I initially shared an account with the same name as our website, double_helix, and when she got her own account I changed to sophia_helix, which is now sophiahelix just about everywhere. A little clunky, but I like the continuity (and I do run across old friends who remember the name).

Do your friends and family know about your fic and, if so, what have been their reactions?

The friends I’ve known for a very long time know about it, but we have never talked about it in depth. My husband, who I met not long after getting into fandom, also knows about it, and he’s encouraging and also a writer so we talk all the time. I told my mom in college and she was pretty dismissive, so we haven’t talked about it since (but my younger sister knows and is cool about it).

When I was younger, it was something I shared readily (I bonded with a new friend in law school I saw looking at LJ), but now I don’t really bring it up with new acquaintances.

Is there a place online (tumblr, twitter, AO3, etc.) where people can find you and/or your stories now?

I just made a Carrd the other day with all my various fannish addresses (Twitter, locked fannish Twitter, AO3, Tumblr)

Is there anything else you'd like to share with fans of X-Files fic?

Just that it really was a high quality fandom — so much excellent long casefic, so many cool down to earth people, just generally a great launching place for a young fan. The friendships I made with older people were really important to me, and it makes me sad to see a lot of younger people now getting upset about the idea of anyone over a certain age being in their fandom spaces. I hope someday fandom can get back to appreciating that people of all ages can be the fandom type, and that everyone brings something different to the community.

Practical Tips on getting your fics out there!

I’ve gotten an influx of these types of questions here recently, and the more i thought about what i was gonna add, it became really long :(

disclaimer: a lot of the things i bring up are just from personal experience as a writer on this site, what my followers have told me they appreciate, and what i tend to look for when im looking for fics to read! If you don’t like these tips then pls move on :)

although i’ll mention them, i’m also not going to be focusing on cliche tips like “write for yourself” or “grammar issues” cause those are pretty obvious!

1. accessibility of your blog

when you’re trying to get your name out there, make sure that you’re creating an inviting experience for any potential followers! this includes:

a memorable url! be creative!

have some fun designing your blog’s aesthetic! (i love cute blogs because it reflects a bit of the writer’s personality), and (i prefer blogs with white backgrounds because it’s easier to look through/read, say, in contrast to a pitch black one where the words need to be white!)

put your masterlist link in your bio (even better if you can link most recent fic! found this most helpful when i revisit authors that i like and can easily see if they’ve updated or not)

an organized and easy-to-navigate masterlist (personally, i prefer masterlists organized by band, instead of types of fics ie. i hate when i have to choose between drabbles, oneshots, and series masterlists; i really prefer to see them altogether!) --> see section 3

organized tags (if you’re going to be posting a lot of non-fic-related content like pictures or videos, tag them properly so followers can sort through and find your fics easily!), or (if you’re going to be writing in different mediums like drabbles, or answering asks, make sure to use a unified #mine or #writing or #fics to centralize your content)

2. get your name out there!

write write write! once you have some fics that show your talent, don’t be shy!

join writing groups: when i first started out, I joined a bunch of groups that would reblog my fics in the midst of the content of much bigger writers; these blogs developed a following, and as a result of my content mixing in with bigger blogs’ content, so did my own tumblr! there’s been a stigma recently with these groups, but im sure you can find one thats supportive and not clique-y!

send your fics to rec pages: what’s the harm? the only bad thing that can happen is that they ignore you! who cares! get out there!

if you can do the above, i really encourage you to ask your fave writers for advice/to read your fic: again, the worst that can happen is that they say no or don’t respond or don’t have enough time, but it’ll be a good opportunity to get some feedback! i for one read (or try to read) every single rec that falls into my inbox. if i like it, i’ll #rec it, and if i don’t, unless the writer asks me for feedback, i move on!!

utilize your tags!!: i’m not entirely sure if this is still the same or not, but from my memory, it’s the first 3-5 tags that matter the most? so utilize them well; push back the tags that aren’t really relevant (ie. #writing, #fics) and push more the main subject line of what you wrote (ie. jungkook fluff, bts smut, namjoon angst). these will populate your fics into the tags better!

headers!: when i’m scrolling through an infinite page of fics, the headers catch my eye the most; try being creative! you can find a lot of info out there on how to make ur headers super aesthetic, but i can share my tips too! --> see section 3

3. your masterlist

here are some practical tips!

organize by band, not type of fic/member/centralize your masterlist: i went onto a blog recently and clicked their bio mlist link to find a page full of 20~ish “JUNGKOOK MASTERLIST”/ “JAEHYUN MASTERLIST” and when i clicked on each one, they only had like 2 or 3 fics per member. i think it would’ve been better if she’d centralized all her fics! that keeps whoever is looking interested and more likely to click on another fic while browsing

add info about the fics!: when scrolling through a masterlist, it’s easy to get lost; try to add some snippets of info (ie. a short sentence you liked from the fic, a quick summary, a description of the au/scenario, or even a header!) this all gives some info about the fics you have tagged!

headers: this isn’t a requirement, but i personally love a good header on fics i read and i love making them myself as i finish up a fic and get ready to upload it; here are free sources: unsplash for HQ stock pics, crop/edit/filter in VSCO, and then add aesthetic script with fontcandy)

try to fill it up!: after i visit a blog after reading one good fic, i usually browse through their mlist to see if there are any more that i’d be interested in. if there’s a lot to look forward to, i’ll almost always follow; try to write as much as you can in the first few months to try and fill up your mlist and give blog viewers a reason to visit your blog again, follow, or even reblog your content!)

4. try not to reproduce cliche fics:

honestly tumblr’s writing community (and armys) has grown insanely these past few years and, unfortunately, even from my perspective, in the past 3-4 years, all the writers have sort of become blended together in my brain. but, i can say that the ones who consistently stand out are the ones who produce consistent content and think outside of the box!

i tend to gravitate towards fics that have really interesting plotlines (ex. btssavedmylifeblr’s VOID is always a surprise to read because it’s sO unique! i usually don’t read ot7 fics but this one is legit my fave)

I know it’s tempting to try and just write typical smut fics to try and gain some traction, but tumblr is already too overloaded by that kind of content; try to write something that’s special and unique! this will set u apart from the thousands of other writers here --> see next section

5. create unique fics:

this is also personal to my writing style, but i get so bored writing just casual fics about the members, and it affects the fics i choose to read too; i prefer unique fics which you can achieve through:

circumstance/au: create a fun au!; don’t just create an arranged marriage, create an arranged marriage in joseon dynasty, or between a werewolf and a hunter! (shameless self plug); don’t just give me friends to lovers, but give me spiderman!jungkook friends to lovers! (ie. cupofteaguk’s exchanges)

jobs: give them out-of-the-ordinary jobs; don’t just give me enemies to lovers, but give me rival!anchors who end up loving eachother! (ie. jimlingss The Newscasters)

fun dialogue: create good back-and-forth, (something i’m still working on!)! this will help your characters develop personality, and that way, readers will start to develop that themselves as well (ie. dad!yoongi from insemination wars by prolixitae is such a specific character that i love so much!, or obiwrites’ garden characters were so memorable!)

create memorable personalities: don’t give me a flat character, try to develop 4d personalities in all of your characters! (im still working on this too!) this way you can really make an impression on your followers! a great way to practice/recognize this is: “Ask my Character.” Can your followers ask a specific character a specific question, and would you be able to deliver an answer that is very specific to that character’s tone/voice/personality? If yes, then ur doing well! If not, try to think of ways that you can make tht specific character from a specific story, really unique and separate from your other characters.

6. some practical writing tips

be yourself, write for your own pleasure, blah blah blah; yeah you know already haha but here are a few more practical tips!

grammar check: if you can, try and hone your grammar! makes for an easier read

write like you: i personally LOVE this by obiwrites, but even the way she writes exudes her personality and is so specific; try not to be caught up in adding hundreds of synonyms and exquisite language; in fact, simpling it down and being more concise and honest with your writing is better than a superfluous sentence; this will also give ur characters so much more dimension and funk

use those commas/sentence variation: try to use more commas; this will feel like you’re the narrator to your own story; it also makes it more fluid to read in my opinion, over those short. clipped. sentences. (ie. “he came over, sitting down on the corner of your bed with an expression you’d never seen before” over “he walked over. he sat down, looking sad.”)

half-half dialogue/narration: a fic with too much dialogue can get confusing, and a fic with too much narration can get dry; try to balance them out, and weave in and out of each!

quality over quantity: don’t feel burdened to write a 30k word fic. in fact, i think some of the shorter fics (ie. any of versigny’s stuff) made a bigger impression on me over the longer fics because they were short, left me wanting more, and were just so high-quality in such small quantities. try out your hand at drabbles and one-shots, and don’t feel too burdened to try and develop a series right off the bat!

abandon pigeon-holes: i’m guilty of this; i start series and then end up with no vision for the stories and they end up giving me writers block. its okay. just stop or discontinue them or leave them on a hiatus; it’s okay. your priority is yourself, and if abandoning certain works are part of that, then go ahead. it’ll help you progress more.

first creation and most recent creation of 2020:

My first creation was this Klaroline fic, a pseudo-Rapunzel fusion (with Klaus as Rapunzel, ofc). Although since it was for a secret exchange, I’m going to cheat and link the first post of a creation in my blog, aka this short BatCat smutty one-shot.

My most recent one is this excerpt from one of my original stories, a sci-fi space opera wip. The two main characters (and the wlw lead couple) meeting for the first time. Fandom-wise, my last gifset posted (although there are more ready in the queue) is this Maxanne-Silverflint parallel from s02e01. Of which I’m very proud.

one of your favourite creations from 2020:

I have literally 20 pages of new stuff created this year lol, so shorting through that it’s... a lot. I think my favourite creations over all others are the ones I’ve made for my original stuff, especially the excerpts. It had been a long time since I could focus on original creations ^-^

a creation you’re really proud of:

I held out and made content all through Femslash February, I’m proud of that. I’m also proud of this BTVS’ Kendra-centric one-shot, because it finally got me out of my funk, fic-wise.

a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it:

I don’t know that I’ve tried new styles, other than simply trying out sharpenings, colouring etc. lol. I experiment more with graphics than with gifsets, I guess? I really liked how my header, a Max from Black Sails edit, came out

your favourite colouring:

I’m proud of this one in a Pepperony-Klaroline parallel set, because it took effort to make them look similar lol. This one for a snowkru/bad bitches kru parallel set was lovely too (here in big form). And this one in a Maxanor-Flintmiranda parallel set. I’m also quite proud of how I manage to color dark scenes like this Flint one lol.

a creation that took you forever:

Compilation gifsets take sooooo long lmao. Most recently, this Silverflint set felt like it took YEARS.

your creation from 2020 that received the most notes:

According to one of those stat sites, it’s this Pepper x Natasha IM2 gifset. The MCU fandom provides notes lol. It still doesn’t have as many notes as my silly shit-post about Asriel and Marisa being shitty parents xD, but that’s from 2019 alas. Hell, I only have three gifsets with more notes than that text post (a Lucas fashion set from Stranger Things; this Eleanor Shellstrop in a leather jacket thirst-trap set; and another Stranger Things set of Steve being Awkward(TM)).

a creation you think deserved more notes:

All of them lmfao *is conceited*. Especially my original stuff!! And everything in the #my graphics or #my icons tags. Those need to be appreciated too!!

a creation with a favorite scene/quote:

I got started with a few new (or new to me; some of those edits are still in the queue... like for Supernatural xD) fandoms this year, mainly Black Sails. I also made this one for Julie and the Phantoms, this one from The Wire, or this one for The Old Guard.

The ones I made recently for Will from His Dark Materials. Also, this Max x mirrors set.

a ‘simple’ creation that you really love:

I’ve done some of what I call “meta edits” lol, of simple scenes that I think say a lot about writing/fandom/human nature/Etc. This Louis Litt edit; this Caroline Forbes edit; this Nikita scene; or all these edits from Reign.

a creation that was inspired by another one:

I’m coming up blank with this one. I’m not saying my ideas come from out of nowhere lol, but I don’t tend to grab 1:1 inspo for edits etc.

a favourite creation created by someone else:

Ooof. Waaaaaay too many to count. My #reblog tag would be useful here lol. Hell, it’d be quicker to tag my fave creators in the next one, so you can get their content first-hand. So that’s what I’ll do.
