I like thinking about options for Young Avengers or the next generation in the MCU. This gives us Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, and Riri Williams! Potentially Cassie Lang. WandaVision could give us Billy and Tommy (or a set of twins at least) and since we have Skrulls and Kree we could have Teddy. Harley Keener may still be hanging around. The Barton kids and Morgan Stark could join in if they wanted to. Although maybe Morgan stays out of the superhero business, but funds them on the sly.
Kate: We’re gonna need cash.
Harley: Yeah, I got a friend who’s, like, a billionaire so we’re covered. But she said if anyone asks she had nothing to do with it. Especially if it’s her mom asking.
I also kinda like the idea of all these new kids showing up on the block as a team when Peter Parker is a bit older and he swings in going: “No, no, no, you can’t just team up. I got kidnapped and taken to an airport for team building and then I had an internship. Like, what about training?! You’re gonna get hurt!”
Falcon/Captain America, the Winter Soldier, Rhodey, Wanda and Vision, Captain Marvel... they’re all really busy or off planet. So they’re all, Peter, it’s time for you to learn how to train other people, to pass on your super hero-ing knowledge, to grow as a person. Basically, no one else is around, so you’re up!
Peter: Yes, but WHAT DO I DO?!
Bucky: Just try to make sure no one gets killed.
Peter: THAT ISN’T A PLAN.
Bucky: *side eyeing Sam* That’s more of a plan than I ever get, kid.
Every so often Peter calls Shuri to complain and she just laughs and him and secretly keeps sending Riri stuff.
Peter: Seriously, how do you lead a team of superheroes?
Old Steve Rogers: Kid, I’m retired.

Trudeau to speak, cost of COVID-19 relief measures expected
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be speaking to the latest efforts the federal government is taking to address the COVID-19 pandemic as the number of cases in Canada continues to climb.
Finance Minister Bill Morneau and Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade Minister Mary Ng are then expected to provide an update on the costs of certain economic aid measures taken so far, including the expanded wage subsidy for Canadian businesses.
With the scheduled federal budget day come and gone, and the price tag continuing to grow as the government focuses on ways to keep Canadians safe and employed, the ministers are expected to outline more details about the economic impact of measures taken so far.
The government continues to indicate more financial assistance will come to Canadians and impacted sectors as the shutdown of many aspects of society continues, to try to flatten the curve of the virus.

Over a week ago the Liberals also put a call out to manufacturers to pivot their production lines to help at this critical time by mass-supplying various life-saving medical supplies to boost the health sector’s stockpile.
Early Tuesday, the government announced it would be waiving the ground lease rents between March and December 2020 for the 21 airports that pay rent to the federal government, as well as to PortsToronto, which operates the Billy Bishop airport in downtown Toronto.
Noting how the air transportation sector has been impacted by the worldwide travel restrictions aimed at limited the spread of COVID-19, the government said it wanted to reduce “cost pressures and preserve their cash flow.”
This move is estimated to result in $331.4 million in relief.
“We want to provide relief for these important entities who are still open under difficult circumstances, and are helping to help bring Canadians home. We are appreciative that they continue to support the flow of people and goods during this challenging time,” Transport Minister Marc Garneau said in a statement.
Later Tuesday, the House Health Committee will be convening an entirely virtual meeting, to receive a briefing from health, foreign affairs, and border officials about COVID-19 response efforts underway.

General Information About Toronto
As the capital of Ontario and also Canada's largest city, Toronto has a great deal to meet! This diverse city of over 2.5 million individuals is busy with life almost everywhere you look. The city sits precisely the coasts of Lake Ontario-- which is excellent for boating yet creates interesting climate/weather all year around!
Currently, keep in mind that in this article we are discussing simply the city of Toronto belongs to a larger location called the GTA-- or the Greater Toronto Location-- that includes the city core as well as the surrounding regions of Peel, Durham, Halton, as well as York.
For your visit, you do not actually need to know about these locations if you are adhering to the city centre of Toronto That stated, the following greatest cities in the surrounding area are Mississauga, Brampton, and Markham. Some individuals even include Hamilton in this mix-- and afterwards it gets even a lot more complex!
A Quick Background Lesson On Toronto
Toronto really has a lengthy background behind it. Initially a settlement by Native Peoples, it became part of a trading course that resulted in various other lakes in the north of the district.
The French settled there, after that the British, and it was made the funding of Upper Canada to be called "York". There was a Ft constructed-- Ft York-- but then it was attacked as well as sacked by Americans in 1812 (but after that we burnt down the White House).
The city expanded as immigrants resolved in from abroad and eventually the city ended up being "Toronto" in 1834 (prior to Canada was also a country). Ever since, it has actually expanded out gradually-- essentially eating up smaller sized neighbourhoods as it mosted likely to come to be Canada's financial as well as social giant that it is today.
You can revisit some of the most historical aspects of Toronto when you look into St. Lawrence Market, Old Municipal Government, and also Queen's Park.
Safety And Security While Going To Toronto.
As far as big cities go, there is no warranty for complete safety and security. Having claimed that, Toronto is taken into consideration a very safe city to live in as well as visit. The downtown core specifically is a risk-free area.
Nonetheless, as a visitor to Toronto (just like any kind of place you are unfamiliar) you should enjoy your pockets-- particularly on the TTC (public transit, see below) and at traveler destinations.
Besides that, keep an eye out for bikes and also streetcars when you go across the roadways-- and follow the pedestrian signals or else you could obtain a penalty for jaywalking!
While it's totally secure to be out during the night-- do bear in mind your environments relying on the areas you are heading out in. If you adhere to the Amusement District, Queen Street, or Ossington, it's a sure thing there will be a lot of other people around.
Weather condition and also Climate in Toronto.
Mainly because of the lake, Toronto has 4 distinct seasons that you can experience. That stated, the seasonal temperature variation can generally go from -30 levels Celsius in the cold of January winter to +35 levels Celsius in the summer season in August.
An additional thing to bear in mind is that Toronto summer is nicer in May and also June rather than July and August. Toronto is well-known for moist heat in the summer so you might sweat even if you remain in the shade!
As we stated, the most effective time to see Toronto would be the very early summer season or perhaps in the fall. September and October can be cooler yet September still has the chance of some residual summertime heat. You additionally get the attractive fall colours on the trees which some people pay big money to see!
Traveling Into Toronto Airports
If you are going to Toronto from away, there's a great chance that you will be flying in. Toronto has 2 main airports that most passengers utilize: Toronto Pearson International Airport and also Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Terminal. We'll study which is which listed below:
Pearson International Airport
With the flight terminal code YYZ, Pearson is the largest/busiest airport in all of Canada. While the airport terminal deals with domestic trips, it is the main hub for global locations. If you require to learn more regarding Pearson, you can check out Pearson's web site right here.
Now, keep in mind that Pearson is NOT close to downtown Toronto. The flight terminal is located in Mississauga which is outside the city centre. However, you have a couple of choices to get to downtown/the city centre.
You can take a cab or flight terminal shuttle bus to your hotel but this choice can be pricey. Fortunately, if you are heading downtown (to after that go to a resort or take public transportation to one more area in the city) you have one great choice: The UP Express Train.
The UP Express-- a Union-Pearson Train-- is incredibly easy to take between Terminal 1 as well as Union Station. You can acquire tickets ahead of time online, on your phone, or face to face at the machines or stands. You can also obtain a Presto Card (made use of for Toronto transportation), load it up, and also use it for the UP. We will certainly cover the Presto Card listed below ...
The UP only opened a couple of years ago as well as we have actually already taken it countless times. Eric matured in a time when the UP didn't exist so the reality that there's a direct train web link between downtown Toronto and also the airport is incredible (and makes tons of feeling).
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Terminal
With the flight terminal code YTZ, Toronto additionally has Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport terminal-- a tiny island airport which flies Doorperson Airlines and Air Canada to short/medium range trips to the United States (New York City, Chicago) as well as various other locations in Ontario/Canada.
If you do in some way fly into Billy Diocesan, you can take the ferry from the island or stroll (in a tunnel) from the airport terminal to the mainland which is downtown Toronto You can find out more about Billy Bishop below. Eric has actually flown with Billy Bishop a handful of times as well as it's been actually good each time. It's a small, well-functioning flight terminal!
Getting To/Around Toronto.
To get to Toronto, you have a couple of alternatives: you can drive, take the bus, or take the train-- either the ViaRail or the GO (regional Ontario train).
If you have actually rented a vehicle and also are driving, midtown Toronto is framed by a freeway "box" of 4 major paths: the 401 runs east-west at the north end of the city, the Highway 404/Don Valley Parkway runs north-south to the eastern, the Gardiner Expressway runs along the waterfront at the south, and also Freeway 427 runs north-south on the west side of the city.
The major transport center is Union Terminal which is right midtown on Front Road. This massive center (which is primarily always somehow under remodelling) is the busiest station in Canada as well as deals with travelers heading every which way on buses, regional, as well as long-distance trains. You can look into more info regarding Union here.
Mass Transit (the TTC).
Once you are in Toronto, you will have the experience of riding the TTC. The "Toronto Transportation Payment" is responsible for mass transit in Toronto. Adoringly known as the TTC, it will get you from A to B ultimately. We state this because the system is prone to hold-ups for a variety of reasons. That stated, it's reputable the majority of the moment.
The TTC is comprised of the train, buses, and also streetcars. The subway is good for going north-south throughout downtown, while the streetcars as well as buses fill out the voids on significant streets. Toronto is basically a huge grid system so it's quite easy to navigate if you have your bearings regarding you.
Lately (start of 2019), The TTC is eliminating tickets as well as symbols to ride transit in favour of electronic "faucet" cards called Presto. You can currently simply get a Presto at a vending device ($ 6.00) and tons it with money (minimal $10.00). Type of expensive for a visitor, however it's the easiest method to navigate. It really did not use to be this way-- and the system still has kinks, yet it's far better. Trust us.
To make use of the Presto, simply touch to obtain "on" the metro, tram, or bus and tap once more if you move between modes of transportation. Presto card customers reach utilize the "two-hour transfer" policy meaning that from the very first faucet you have 2 hours to essentially get on as well as off and also go in any direction you want-- all for the price of one fare.
Just tap each time you transform automobiles or directions. Prices are not based on range so you do not have to touch "off" or out of the system once again. You can learn more about TTC fares as well as routines here and also learn about the Presto Card below.
You can also still make use of cash yet only when there is a manned settlement box on the bus or in the train station. If you do pay with cash or an approach that is not Presto, remember to take your paper "transfer". It's your Evidence of Payment for the trip.
Driving in Toronto.
Driving in Toronto isn't dreadful since it's a huge grid-- however it can get quite crowded in the morning and afternoon (after job). Parking midtown can also be expensive.
You also have the choice to take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Toronto is a large city with great deals of motorists usually readily available.
The Neighbourhoods of Toronto.
Toronto is known to be a "city of areas" in the feeling that you can stroll from one as well as right into one more as well as seem like you have actually switched countries not to mention the street. We'll mention below simply how diverse Toronto is-- yet it displays in the locations around the city!
Each area or area in Toronto has its very own vibe and borders. We discuss a handful of the prominent ones below so you can see what remains in every one:.
The Danforth (Greektown)-- a worldwide center of food as well as shops.
Liberty Village-- residential area in West End with restaurants.
Distillery District-- red block factory location with breweries and shops.
The Beaches-- fashionable as well as property in the East end with the coastline.

King West-- terrific for dining establishments and also bars.
Enjoyment District-- best clubs, sporting activities, bars, theaters, and so on
. Toronto Islands-- environment-friendly area with homeowners and also amusement park.
... as well as a lot more!
Culture/ Language in Toronto.
For those that live there, it's no secret: Toronto is a varied city. Just how varied? Toronto has actually been called one of the most diverse city worldwide with over 200 citizenships represented, 140 languages, as well as 51% of locals being birthed beyond Canada. It's no wonder that there are so many little international pockets all over the city: Little Italy, Koreatown, and so on
. The language talked in Toronto is English, yet French is likewise an official language of Canada. That stated, you are most likely to hear actually any other language in a Toronto cafe before you hear French. Seriously.
That said, once in a cafe in The Beaches Lisa ended up having a brief discussion with a lady in her indigenous language-- German! The lady (who additionally resided in Toronto) was so surprised to hear German talked that had not been her young kids.
Toronto Restaurants, Cafes, as well as Bars.
This rich culture and also diversity are certainly represented in the available food around the city. Toronto has a thriving food scene-- and also you will reach experience it if you head to Toronto. You can primarily find any kind of cuisine from across the globe in Toronto-- which is not an exaggeration.
That said, Toronto is known for its breakfast society. There are breakfast places anywhere-- and the weekend break early mornings are sacred brunch time. If you are heading of brunch make sure to be early or anticipate to wait a little bit! There are loads of wonderful breakfast locations as well as we will certainly write an entire blog post on them soon!
Toronto also has a strong coffee culture. Canadians (generally) consume a great deal of coffee compared to other countries so cafes are an extremely common event around the city. You can attempt Tim Hortons-- the traditional Canadian brand-- however check out the city for small coffee bar ... they pop out of all over!
Lastly, Toronto has a solid bar/pub/club culture-- being a large city. The Enjoyment Area is a great location to start if you are seeking a place to pursue drinks or dance. There are other pockets to head out in (like Ossington) but normally, you'll find bars all over the city. We truly like Bar Jump (revealed above) for food pints and also food!
Paying and Tipping In Toronto.
While you are out in Toronto, it's an excellent idea to recognize just how paying and tipping work in Canada/the city. You can use cash in the city but essentially almost everywhere approves card. In fact, it's probably the recommended method nowadays.
In Canada, tipping is expected for solution. At a dining establishment, the amount is typically 15% of the expense however it's not uncommon to tip higher for truly great solution. Sometimes huge teams have suggestion instantly added to the expense so expect that. Even poor service obtains a suggestion-- yet a lower quantity. No pointer would be very rude.
You can also tip at the bar by throwing a buck or more to the bartender for beverages-- rate depending, obviously. Tipping well at the bar might suggest you get beverages much faster all night long. just saying'.
Sports and also Home Entertainment in Toronto.
If you are searching for things to do in Toronto, you will certainly not have a lack of choices. From sports to celebrations and also bars and also theater, you will certainly discover something to fit all rate of interests!
Toronto is a huge sporting activities city-- with hockey (Maple Leafs) and basketball (Raptors) at Scotiabank Field, baseball (Blue Jays) at the Rogers Centre, and soccer (Toronto FC) being one of the most prominent sporting activities. They likewise have a Canadian football team, Lacrosse team, and smaller sized sport leagues/levels.
Basically, it can be costly to view online sporting activities (especially Leafs). Jays tickets are still budget-friendly if you stay up high. If you just go to the bar to eat, consume alcohol, and watch the game amongst residents you will certainly have an enjoyable time just the same.
As for other points to do-- we have a whole message on this. That claimed, there are lots of museums in Toronto like the Royal Ontario Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and also more. There are lots of theaters as well as music locations as well like the Princess of Wales Theatre, Massey Hall, The Danforth Music Hall, as well as the Music hall-- to call simply a handful!
As well as there you have it-- our guide on points to understand prior to visiting Toronto. Naturally, we might have studied each in more information-- yet we will certainly leave those for other messages! With any luck you've discovered a bit a lot more regarding the city as well as expect discovering it. Let us know just how that goes!

New Post has been published on Toronto Events, Activities and Entertainment
New Post has been published on http://www.torontonicity.com/2017/07/10/summerlicious-at-azure-at-intercontinental-toronto-centre/
Summerlicious at Azure at InterContinental Toronto Centre
By Diana Condolo
Torontonicity received a media invitation to try Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant and stay overnight at the InterContinental Toronto Centre Hotel. I was absolutely delighted to have this chance since I have never eaten at Azure, but was curious about the restaurant because I walk through it when I attend various shows at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, which is attached to the hotel.
First, I must say that we received very courteous treatment throughout the whole evening from servers, parking staff, and other attendants at the hotel.
Diana and Jai at Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant
Azure Restaurant is a beautiful space under a canopy of glass, offering views of the Toronto cityscape. We had both dinner and breakfast there. The restaurant is stylish and comfortable at the same time, plus I love that they have all the glass on the roof and sides to let the sunshine in. Very summery!
We started off our evening learning to make our own cocktails. I’m a novice at making cocktails so learning about all the steps in cocktail making was very interesting and using the shaker for the first time was a treat. I closed my cocktail shaker a little too tight, so I needed assistance opening it (oh my strength)! I’m proud to say my cocktail was awesome.
Making a raspberry cooler during Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant
With cocktails in hand, we went into the kitchen, donned InterContinental Toronto Centre aprons and were given a demo on how to make Seared Albacore Tuna with avocado aioli and pineapple salsa. Various members of the media volunteered to participate in the cooking. I hung on tightly to my cocktail and sat back in my chair. I made it clear I was there to relax 🙂
While in the kitchen, we had an interesting conversation with Executive Chef Shawn Whalen about cooking and discussed ways that the Seared Albacore Tuna dish could be adapted to tofu. This is something of interest to us since we are vegetarian. Shawn said the dish would adapt to that exchange of ingredients very well. I sampled the summery-tasting dish without the tuna and found it delectable and refreshing. They generously provided us with the recipe – I’m putting it on my DIY list.
Grace Di Fede, Chef de Cuisine and Shawn Whalen, Executive Chef, demonstrate cooking technique at Azure Restaurant
Then we sat down to our dinner, which was paired nicely with the Trius wine. First we had a refreshing Leaves of Watercress & Baby Kale Salad with compressed peaches. The colour, texture, and flavour are intensified by compression. I enjoyed the lightness of the watercress and baby kale, which contrasted with the denser and intensely-flavoured fruit.
Leaves of Watercress & Baby Kale with compressed peaches, radish, goat cheese and citrus & honey basil vinaigrette on Summerlicious menu at Azure Restaurant
My neighbour was enjoying the Cherry Wood Smoked Duck Breast.
Cherry Wood Smoked Duck Breast with honey-glazed figs, lemon ricotta, pea shoots and focaccia crostini at Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant
Next came the main dish: Macadamia & Spinach Pesto Capellini. The macademia nuts and spinach pesto coated the pasta in such a delectable and smooth way that I could see myself eating a big bowl of this as comfort food. The onions, tomatoes and zucchini were so delectable and cooked perfectly. I wondered how I could replicate the dish at home (I’m always on the lookout for new ideas). This dish reminded me of dining in Italy, with the country’s dedication to great ingredients and cooking them just right.
Macadamia & Spinach Pesto Capellini with cipollini, grape tomatoes, zucchini and parmesan at Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant
I did not try the Maple Almond-Crusted Salmon, but everyone said it was delicious.
Maple Almond-Crusted Salmon with wild rice, arugula, sauteed stone fruit and mirabelle plum nage at Summerlicious at Azure Restaurant
Mary Ann Gamboa, the Director of Sales & Marketing at the InterContinental Toronto Centre, told us that they give full portions of dishes during Summerlicious and Winterlicious. Some restaurants cut the size of the portions down to reduce costs. I was already feeling full, but I seem to always make room for dessert. I did not anticipate that I’d be head over heals for the white chocolate cheesecake. The cardamom ice cream is aromatic – I just needed to eat this slowly to fully savour each delectable mouthful. I’m known to be crazy about cardamom, so this may influence my thinking. Try it and let me know what you think.

Jai had the strawberry tart, but he found it too sweet so he shared it with me. Well, I ate it all up (I guess we all tolerate sweetness differently). I really enjoyed the lime basil curd and adored the presentation. The rosewater candy on top is so pretty (and delicious). I love sweets. I do find that sweets can be sometimes too cloying, but this was an ideal level of sweetness for me.
After the meal, we headed to our spacious room and thought about sinking into our heavenly, king size bed, but we were taken with the magnificent view, so we grabbed some drinks from the fridge and sat on the couch for a while.

We enjoyed the view of The Rogers Centre, Ripley’s Aquarium, CN Tower, Centre Island plus Billy Bishop Airport, Toronto harbour, the CBC and the little parkette beside it. We spent a long time identifying places we know and determining the last resting spot for the six-story rubber ducky while the inflatable duck was visiting our city (oh yes, we went to see the cutie). The room had a great view of the Roundhouse, which had functioned as a Canadian Pacific Rail steam locomotive repair facility when built in 1929. The hotel is just steps from all these attractions – it would be a lovely getaway for people living in the GTA to combine some sightseeing with a luxurious night at the InterContinental Toronto Centre Hotel.

2 Injured After Commercial Airliner Forced To Evade ‘UFO’
Two people suffered minor injuries after an aircraft swerved to avoid a “UFO” in the skies over Lake Ontario on Monday.
The Porter Airlines Dash 8 aircraft, which was carrying 54 passengers, encountered the object at about 9,000 feet as it descended into the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
“The pilots noticed an object in the distance (and) as they approached the object, they realized it was very close to their flight path,” Porter Airlines said in a statement, according to the Canadian Press.
At first the pilots thought it was a balloon. However, after debriefing, they said the object could have been a drone.
“Nobody knows at this point. It happened so quick,” Peter Rowntree, senior regional investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, told The Star. “It definitely wasn’t a bird. It was a fairly large object.”
Two flight attendants were taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries, the CBC reported.
The Canadian government is now working to pass new rules to regulate the growing number of drones, and possibly help prevent incidents such as this one.
There have been a number of close calls between aircraft and drones around the world, especially near airports. Earlier this year, a British Airways jet struck a drone while approaching London’s Heathrow Airport. No one was injured in that incident.

Porter Airlines suspending all flights at the end of Friday
Porter Airlines is temporarily suspending all flights at the close of operations on Friday, March 20, with plans to resume service on June 1.
Michael Deluce, Porter’s president and CEO stated: “COVID-19 is having an unprecedented effect on people around the world and Porter is determined to do our part to support the efforts of the Canadian, U.S. and global authorities in their responses. Restricting activities by people in all communities is what’s required to keep our team members and passengers healthy, and ultimately to end this fast-spreading pandemic. A temporary suspension of all flights allows the public health crisis to diminish and then time to restart our operations.
“Remaining flights through March 20, will allow customers to complete existing trips and return home, or make last-minute reservations to reach a destination.”
The existing waiver of change and cancellation fees means there is no cost to customers for modifying an existing itinerary.
Porter is also prepared to help recovery efforts by operating flights to support the movement of government officials, public health requirements and economic recovery efforts. Porter FBO at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport will remain open to support these needs, as well as Ontario’s provincial medevac service and other general aviation.
Reservations are currently being taken for Porter flights starting June 1. All flights booked in June will be fully changeable and refundable to give passengers maximum flexibility as travel resumes.
Passengers can cancel existing reservations online at www.flyporter.com. The volume of inquiries at our call centre has been consistently high this month. It is requested that only passengers with immediate travel needs through March 20, who cannot resolve their request online, use the call centre in order to alleviate wait times.
Michael Deluce added: “It is regrettable that this situation requires us to issue temporary layoffs across the business. We are doing everything possible to support our team during this period and intend to welcome back all of our team members as operations restart. Executive Chairman Robert Deluce and I will not receive any salary during this time, in alignment with the impact on our team members. All other management who remain during the temporary suspension will see salary reductions of up to 30 percent until flights resume.
“Porter’s team is exceptional. Our resilient culture has seen the company through difficult times in the past and it will allow us to do so again. We intend to come back stronger than ever and ready to meet the needs of customers.”
