Practice sketches for Our beloved King Magnifico 👑💛

I've fallen for this cute king recently 🥰 💞 How he could be just like a disney princess when singing "This is the Thanks I Get!?" among the armour suits! And the way he plays with his staff just like a child having fun... He totally called my attention all along in the movie! These are some sketches I practice drawing him, one in the way I draw disney characters and the other in my realistic style! It was so hard to draw a cute, strong, bold, brave man! But I'm glad I did it~ There are still so many cuteness of King Magnifico in the film that I want to draw! And the fact that disney didn't get the story perfect also makes me have so many ideas for him now 😂 That's why I never get art block, there are just so many to work on for my original stories and for those my fav characters who would keep coming into my life-

And I couldn't help it- I had been brainwashed by the toothless dance meme when I was doing this practice sketch, I gotta get this idea drawn 😆 Btw that green dragon is the forbidden magic itself from the Book of Spells.

I want to draw more of him and Queen Amaya as well! I love this royal couple-a cute king and a tender queen, and the cute couple vibe between them so much 🩷 I'd also love to see how they would have been- an evil royal couple, maybe like a Team evil queen and the magic mirror? 👑🎭 That must be interesting to draw too!

Character question! TWST is an isekai, right? What was Tia doing before she got zapped into the setting?

If TWST is not an isekai and I'm mistaken, just ignore me 😂

TWST IS AN ISEKAI SO YOU’RE RIGHT, DW. It’s pretty much baked in that the viewer makes up who the MC is (not everyone does, but, I do) 🩷 Sry it took a minute (WEEKS) to answer. I was drawing things. Sometimes I don’t think I articulate with words well enough to explain myself nor to retain attention. I did not proofread and the text got wonky so excuse that.

Now what was Tia doing before being forced into the setting 🪷

Prior to being whisked into Twisted Wonderland, Tia was a normal person from New Orleans, yay! She lived with her **grandmama (but she doesn’t like being called that, she ain’t OLD m’kay?) and older brother (Not appearing in the following images.)

There’s a bit more background but I’ll stick with the most recent and basic stuff.

At the end of her school year, Tia got accepted into some kind of once in a lifetime apprenticeship program, where she and 4 other selected people, will shadow a world-famous chef in New York City. During the summer, she’s been cooking, reading, and doing part-time jobs nonstop in excess-preparation.

She was intending on transferring to a new school and live with her great aunt in NYC (grandmama’s sister), graduate, then get started in her career climbing up the ladder and eventually be able accomplish a long term dream of hers— opening her own restaurant.

Though, obviously, Tia has issues with being so laser focused on her goal she tends to neglect everything else in life. Like, y’know. Having friends, having fun, literally doing ANYTHING outside of working. Let alone sort out her own feelings or heck, even consider if this is truly something she wants to do. She’s pretty much convinced herself into it, and for the past year in particular she’s been more engrossed than ever.

Either way, things were going swimmingly by her standards. Tia was just SO CLOSE to getting a foot in the door and everything was about to go right for her— Almost there, even. Two weeks until she flies to NYC to start her new life and really get her dreams started!!

Well.

Till the black carraige showed up. Shit.

(If you ever wanted to create American Girl art, it would totally fit your vibe, but obviously I'm not trying to wrangle a free piece or anything! Had this sitting around unfinished for a while, so I decided to finally get it done. I've been craving to do future Skyleeverse stuff lately and wanted to draw Skye and Hoagie's family first 💙🩷

Meet the Gilligans!

You pretty much know about Hank, so I'll skip him for now and move to his sisters 😂

Lani Gilligan is Skye and Hoagie's second oldest kid. She is known as the gremlin out of the Gilligan sibs, managing to take after Skye's chaotic nature back when she was a kid and becoming quite the handful. While also being born with the gift of tinkering, Lani has a love for tinkering and usually messes with the wiring in the house to come up with new security systems and traps (which she gets in trouble for). She's a huge daddy's girl. She is a 2x4 tech officer and explosives specialist for the KND, going by Numbuh 7.2. She is 10 years old.

Sora Gilligan is the youngest of the Gilligan kids, being 1 year old. Nothing much is known about her yet except her being the baby of the family and being the calmest out of her sibs. She is a very quiet baby, which isn't really good for her parents since she is known to wander off without anyone noticing and get into some trouble.

Skye Gilligan works as a stunt pilot and sometimes teaches classes to those who are interested in becoming a stunt pilot themselves. Is usually laid back and fun-loving, but knows when to be strict and lay down some rules if she has to. Loves her kids and husband dearly, sometimes being a bit of a mother hen and being overprotective. Is 38 years old.

Hoagie Pennywhistle Gilligan Jr. works as a pilot at the airport, having flexible hours so he wouldn't be away from his family for too much. Is a loving and joyful dad and loves spending time with his kids and wife, wanting nothing more than his family to be happy. He still has a love for jokes and puns, now often telling dad jokes any chance he gets (he almost got banned from family reunions because of him telling dad jokes nonstop 😂) Is 39 years old

For the director's cut ask !

In Touchstarved, how did you come up with the teleportation crystal system? I assumed that was an original idea because I've never seen it before! Thought it was super interesting and would love to hear more about it.

I wish I was clever enough to come up with that on my own! but alas...I stole it from Final Fantasy XIV, which I was playing a lot in January when I started writing Touchstarved 😂

I think Final Fantasy games in general have a lot of crystals? But the ones in FFXIV are for fast travel and I was like...why do the gods not already have something like this, it's so much more efficient than drawing a fresh array every time xD

Thank you though, I'm glad it at least seemed like something original and it wasn't immediately obvious I had snatched it right out of a video game!!

For the ⭐⭐⭐:

The cure to the curse was originally way more complicated in the first draft! In addition to skin-to-skin contact while using qi, there was also going to be a plant they had to make an infused oil with, and then use the oil on each other.

I even modified the lyrics of a song I had stuck in my head at the time to be a kind of folk rhyme that the ghost would have eventually remembered to help them locate the plant:

Oh brother, where you been? You look so cold, so grim Cultivator, curse-breaker Won't you share your qi, hey-ya, hey-ya Blue flower, at the door Has no leaves anymore By the river, glowing quicker Won't you share with me, hey-ya, hey-ya (to the tune of Wolf by First Aid Kit)

But I ended up cutting it because incorporating the oil into the sensual/smut parts was making it feel clunky and less sexy somehow? I also couldn't stop thinking about how MQ would probably be annoyed about getting oil all over his sheets...

Also it was just unnecessarily complicated lmao.

TMNT 2003 S02E25: The Big Brawl (Part 3)

Donatello: "Don't even think about touching him!"

At this moment, Donny still suspects that Usagi was the one who poisoned Leo, so he's pretty prickly with our favorite rabbit samurai. I love this scene because it's a great example of Donny being protective of his family. Plus, there's just something about the turtle who's generally regarded as the weakest fighter of his family fiercely protecting the one who's regarded as the strongest.

Rise of the TMNT: S01E15a: Mind Meld

Raph: "Is it my skate-hawks idea? You see, they're hawks! That we strap to ourselves! And then--!"

Leo: "You say the word, I'm ready to go wrangle some hawks!"

This is obviously a silly little moment, but I love that Leo is just immediately ready to support Raph in his plan. Leo really was an excellent right hand man to Raph before he was thrown into leadership (and Raph was thrown out of it).

TMNT 2003 S01E03: Attack of the Mousers

Raph: "This is it! It's been fun, guys."

Mikey: "Even me, Raph?"

Raph: "Even you, Mikey. Especially you."

Raph and Mikey bicker all the time, but their love language for each other is razzing each other. When it comes down to the wire and it looks like they might not make it out alive, Raph is honest in the fact that he is so damn fond of his baby brother, no matter how much he drives Raph crazy.

🩵 - Top 3 moments that make me laugh:

TMNT 2003 S02E25: The Big Brawl (Part 3) (again)

Raph: "WILL! YOU! SHUT! YOUR! TRAP!?!"

Mikey: "Why? Does my talking bother you? Am I distracting you somehow? Making you lose focus? Messing up your concentration?"

What can I say? This episode has The Range. This is just before Mikey defeats Raph in the Battle Nexus, by irritating him badly enough that he gets sloppy. I love how Mikey weaponizes his goofball behavior like this. He is 1000% aware of what he's doing to Raph, and I love it. Especially since Raph went into this fight absolutely certain that he was going to beat Mikey.

Rise of the TMNT S02E02a: Man vs. Sewer

Mikey: "Someone could get really hurt on this."

Mikey: "LET'S SEE HOW FAR IT SWINGS!!!"

I mean... just look at it. It gets me every time 😂

TMNT 2003 S03E02: Space Invaders (Part 2)

Mikey: "So, do these work like Earth grenades?"

Mikey: *pulls the pin on one of the Triceraton's grenades and runs to cover just before he explodes*

There's just something inherently ridiculous about the comic relief character cracking a joke and then grusomely murdering an invading alien soldier. This Triceraton blows up off-screen, but just barely.

💔 - Top 3 moments that make me cry:

TMNT 2003 S04E14: The Ancient One

Leo: "I'm sorry. I did the best I could. I did. The best. I could! There WASN'T! ANY MORE! I COULD HAVE DONE!"

This moment--where Leo is unknowingly fighting a physical manifestation of his guilt--is the amazing resolution to Leo's season 4 PTSD arc. In the previous season's finale, the only way he could think of to keep the Shredder from leaving Earth and going to conquer the stars was to blow up his ship... with his whole family still on it. The Utroms saved them at the last second, but for 13 episodes, Leo has been struggling with the guilt of not being good enough to win at an acceptable cost. This scene is the first time we see him start to forgive himself for that--to recognize that he had done everything he could, and that the fact that there were forces outside of his control wasn't his fault.

Rise of the TMNT: The Movie

Yeah, yeah, obviously when the portal to the Prison Dimension closes, but I mean this exact second. When the camera pans from the New York side of the Technodrome explosion to the Prison Dimension side, the music suddenly gets all quiet. Gone is the gravitas of the deep low brass, and all that's left is a drawn out note by the strings. Yes, they've beaten the Krang, but that doesn't mean that they won. Not in a way that is worth the cost.

TMNT 2003 S03E21: Same as it Never Was

Donny: "My brothers... my poor brothers. This world... this future... it's a nightmare.

I couldn't make a list of top 3 TMNT moments that made me cry without "Same as it Never Was". The part immediately after Donny kills the Shredder always gets me. It should be a triumphant moment, but all of Donny's brothers are dead because of his plan. It isn't anything except solemn. I'm pretty sure SAINW was the original "bad timeline where everyone dies" of TMNT. And Sam Riegel's voice acting here adds so much to it.

Aweeeeee I LOVE the many matching outfits you drew for Mario and Peach!!! 😄😄😄 THEY'RE SO CUTE OH MY GOD. Mario bringing her some shells while she's sunbathing, could he be any more adorable????? And gosh, the way she's so stylish and chic in her swimsuit!!!! And awwwwww you drew the farmer/cook combination 🥹🥹🥹 That's one of my MOST favorites because Peach really looks so CUTE as a farmer!!! And the way Mario is beaming while she admires his chef outfit 🥹🥹🥹 I swear their relationship is just so PURE ❤️🩷

But God, I really can't handle the silly and cheerful way he's smiling while he holds her hand, as if he's the luckiest man in the world 🥹🥹🥹 (which he is of course 💖). THE ONE OF MARIO IMPERSONATING LUIGI IS SIMPLY GENIUS, MY FRIEND. I feel like silly that I didn't come up with it for my headcanons as it suits this game perfectly well 😂😂😂 (and a little bit jelly too/aff 🫂💖). It's so adorable that Luigi is watching from behind a tree and laughing, as it shows this is something they thought up together as a silly prank (and the Toads are falling for it 100% 🤭). I honestly feel it as a way of somehow fixing the way this was carried out in Paper Mario TTYD, as Luigi here is part of the joke instead of the target of it. So so sweet, dear bestie 🥹🥹🥹
