Who are You? || Jake Seresin
Summary: After breaking up with you lovely cheating fiancée you find a place to stay at your Aunt Penny's house in San Diego. You might just get more than you bargained for when you meet the Jake Seresin.
A/N: First attempt at Top Gun, loved writing for him!
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Y/N
Word Count: 4,700+
Part 2
Life came at you fast. One moment you were planning your wedding with the supposed ‘love of your life’ Aaron, the next you were on the floor of your shared apartment wondering why he had to go and ruin everything. You and Aaron had met back in college when you were both studying engineering. He swept you off your feet, quite literally. A mishap in a chemistry lab had him picking you up so you wouldn’t get burned. From then on, the two of you had been inseparable.
Aaron was everything you wanted in a man. He was sweet, kind, funny and just an overall good person to be around. At least, that’s what you thought. The two of you moved to Michigan after graduating, both of you securing well-paying engineering jobs. You thought you were happy, you thought you’d start a life in Michigan but apparently Aaron had other plans.
You stated noticing odd behaviors from your fiancée five years into the relationship. His once calm and kind demeanor changed ever so slightly. He snapped at you often, something your Aaron wouldn’t have dreamed of doing even just a year prior. He wasn’t fun to be around anymore, you tried to make jokes that would have made him laugh and crack one back with you, but he just rolled his eyes at you instead.
You weren’t sure when it all started culminating but you were damn near a breaking point. Five years into a relationship and his personality changed so drastically over the last six months. You tried taking advice from both your mom and aunts, but nothing worked.
All the tension came to a head when you were out one night with a friend, Mandy, heading to the local bars. Aaron was supposed to be gone for the week on a work trip. He was indeed not on a work trip. Mandy spotted him and excitedly tried to drag you over to him. Your eyes widened and you yanked your arm away from her. She didn’t know Aaron was supposed to be gone. You quickly ducked your head and walked to a side of the bar you were sure he couldn’t see you from. Mandy was clearly confused but followed you anyway.
“He’s not supposed to be here Mandy.” Y/N said while quietly sipping on the whisky sour you had ordered earlier.
“Where’s he supposed to be then?” She asked with confusion laced on her brow.
Y/N took a slow and drawn-out breath while closing her eyes knowing something wasn’t right. Mandy was looking at you expectantly when you opened your eyes again, “Minnesota, for work.”
She bit her lip trying to come up with any excuse for him in the book. You gave her a sad smile while shifting around a few people trying to get a better line of sight on the liar.
Your heart sunk when a beautiful girl seemed to appear out of thin air wrapping her dainty arms around your fiancée. You bit the inside of your cheek hard, trying to will the tears that were threatening to spill to stay put. You continued to watch half hoping it was just a friend, God willing it’d just be a friend. Your heart shattered when he placed a soft kiss on her lips smiling like the fucking idiot he was. Your teeth clenched down harder drawing a metallic taste from your mouth.
“Oh, Y/N, let’s go.” Mandy softly grabbed at your arm attempting to pull you away from the bar. Your legs felt like lead as she tried to drag you away. You couldn’t hear anything nor process what you saw. You heard your heart beating slow and not so steady. Closing your eyes again you swallowed the blood that pooled in your mouth.
“I should go up to him.” You mumbled ignoring Mandy’s protests.
This time Mandy squeezed your arm trying to get you to snap out of whatever daze you were in, “That’d be an awful idea Y/N. Take some pictures and let’s go home.”
You nodded taking another sip from your sour, nearly hissing when it hit the open wound from your cheek bite. The fucking loser was continuing to hurt you without even realizing it. Mandy snapped a few more pictures making sure to get everything.
That’s how you landed on the floor of your shared apartment silently crying. The gravity of the situation finally hit you, your life you wanted to start was over. Aaron ruined it before it could really begin.
You sent the pictures to your mom and aunts who, of course, were nothing but supportive. They helped to get you out of the situation. Your mom flew in to help you pack your things and your Aunt Penny offered to let you come out to San Diego and live with her for a while. You worked it out with your boss, he agreed to let you work from home rather than lose you completely. You were free to go to San Diego for the next six months.
The actual breakup was heartbreaking yet again. Aaron almost looked relieved when you ended it only confirming your worst nightmare, being used in a relationship. It was a blessing in disguise you kept telling yourself as you made the 35-hour drive to your Aunt Penny’s. It certainly was the biggest blessing in disguise for Y/N.
You pulled up to Penny’s blue home three days after starting your cross-country road trip. You smiled taking in the views around you, smelling the salty ocean air that was unfamiliar to you. The air was warm and refreshing and the ocean front views went on for miles. Penny and Amelia ran outside to greet you, more than excited to have you come stay with them.
“Y/N!” Amelia yelled running up to you throwing herself into your outstretched arms.
“Meals!” You enthusiastically replied, “you’ve grown.” You whispered into her hair as you held her closely.
“You would have known that if you visited.” She stuck her tongue out at you after getting a better look at you.
You ruffled her hair sighing, realizing just how much you missed out because of Aaron. “I know, that’s on me. Don’t let stupid boys make decisions for you.” She nodded her head smiling while backing away, giving room for Penny to sneak in.
“It’s okay,” Penny cooed pulling you into a hug, “we’ve got plenty of time to catch up.”
You nodded your head feeling very good about the decision to stow away at the Benjamin household for a while. “How’ve you been Aunt Pen?” You asked while grabbing a suitcase out of the back. Amelia came around and started unloading the contents with you.
“Been wonderful.” She grinned ear to ear.
“Moms got a boyfriend.” Amelia giggled while wiggling her eyebrows, “A pilot boyfriend.”
“Really?” You asked your aunt, eyebrows raised in curiosity.
She nodded, “I do. He’ll be around tonight.”
“What’s tonight? Anything happening?” Y/N asked nobody in particular.
Amelia ran inside with your items leaving you alone with Penny.
“Nothing major. I’ve got to close the Hard Deck tonight. He usually stops by to say hello. Along with a few other aviators.”
You smirked at your blushing aunt, “A boyfriend huh? Is he cute? What’s his name? Can I come tonight?”
She laughed at your rapid-fire questions, “Of course he’s cute! Very handsome. His name is Pete Mitchell.” Penny smiled thinking about him. “And yes of course you can come on by, it’s always a good time on a Friday night.”
“Oh, so you’re in love love.” Y/N smirked grabbing the last of the items from your car.
Penny shrugged, “A bit.”
“How do I look Amelia?” You asked your cousin as you walked down the stairs.
She grinned setting down the book she was reading, “Beautiful, as always.”
“You’re way too nice to me Meals.” You smiled sitting down next to her on the couch.
She shrugged, looking eerily like her mother, “It’s the truth.”
“We’ll thank you, you’re my favorite cousin.”
“I’m your only cousin!” She laughed punching you in the shoulder lightly.
“Precisely.” You winked getting up from the couch. “So, what am I walking into?” You eyed the fridge containing beer, you knew one would calm your nerves.
She peeked back over her book, “Lots of flyboys. All cute too. Some cool girls come around too.”
You nodded cracking open the beer, getting rather nervous hearing that, “Pretty cute hmm?”
She nodded her head enthusiastically, “I think so. They’re all very kind. Just twice my age. So, it’s more of a looking situation for me.”
“Not twice mine.”
Amelia giggled shaking her head, “Mom always says no flyboys. I assume she’ll say the same for you. Bit of a hypocrite she is.”
This time it was your turn to laugh, “Sounds like she knows something.”
Amelia nodded looking down at the time, “You better go if you want to beat Mav there.”
“Mav?”
“Maverick, it’s Pete’s callsign. They all have one.”
You nodded finishing the rest of the beer, “I have no idea what I’m getting myself into.”
“You’ll have fun! Go! Don’t think of that stupid boy either. Enjoy the night.” She shot up from her spot on the couch and began pushing you towards the front door.
You put your hands up, “Alright, alright! Have a good night, Meals.”
“You to! But not too much.”
You hesitantly walked towards the Hard Deck really regretting your decision to go out tonight. You just weren’t feeling up to it now. All you really wanted to do was grab a pint of ice cream and hang out with Amelia.
Sighing you pushed open the door to the bar taking in your surroundings quickly. Everybody appeared to be normal, no flyboys in sight. Smiling you walked over to the bar spotting Penny’s blonde hair.
“There you are, was beginning to worry you wouldn’t show.” She grinned grabbing you a beer and setting it down in front of you.
“Thanks Pen. Your daughter distracted me when I was leaving.”
She shook her head, “Pete and the crew should be here any moment.”
You nodded taking a big sip of the beer, hoping to feel lightly buzzed before meeting a bunch of new people.
True to Penny’s word a few people in uniform came waltzing through. All of them seemed to ooze confidence which sent you scrunching down in your chair trying to avoid any and all eye contact. It’s not that you didn’t like meeting new people, it’s just that they were all so intimidating. You snapped your head back to Penny with wide eyes.
“What’s the matter?” She laughed pouring what you assumed to be Pete’s beer.
“They’re terrifying.” You whispered leaning in close.
She let out an alarmingly loud laugh that you were sure grabbed the attention of the crew, “Hardly love. They may look it but they’re a bunch of hooligans.”
“I can attest to that.” A male voice spoke from behind sending you nearly jumping out of your seat.
“Jesus.” You took a breath and turned around to look at the very handsome man.
“Pete! This is Y/N. She finally made it in from Michigan.” Penny handed him his beer as he sat down next to you.
“Hello.” You smiled at him taking another good look at him while sipping on your own beer.
“Nice to meet you Y/N. Penny’s told me all about you.”
You turned to your aunt with a raised brow, “She’s always had a big mouth.”
“Hey!” Penny laughed hitting you with the bar rag, “Only good things I promise Y/N.”
“I believe you Aunt Pen.” You smiled brightly at your aunt.
“Alright, let me go serve the kids and I’ll be back.” She winked at the both of you before turning around to a ‘kid’ who was sporting a rather pornstache looking mustache. You noticed him pointing over to you and Penny looking back at you. Rather uncomfortably you turned your entire body to Pete and tried to distract yourself.
“So, Pete, are you good to my Aunt Pen?”
He smiled watching her pour beers and hand them to the kid, “Of course. I lost her once and I’m certainly not planning on doing that again.”
“Good.” You nodded taking another swig from your glass.
“And you? What’s your story kiddo?”
You sighed not really wanting to get into the nitty gritty details with Penny’s boyfriend, “My fiancée cheated on me. I needed to get away and Penny offered her place for a while.”
He nodded slowly taking you in this time, “Sorry kid. People suck sometimes.”
You bobbed your head unsure what to say to the man, “Indeed they do.” You said while sighing, finishing off the beer.
“Not all of them suck,” he smirked finishing his off at the same time, “Looks like somebody else has some eyes for you.” He set his glass down and stood up, motioning for that somebody to come over.
“Don’t leave me.” You pleaded seeing him start to walk away.
He laughed, “From what Penny tells me, you’ll be able to handle him just fine.” He winked and disappeared behind a few people. You sighed yet again scrunching your nose up, not too thrilled with the situation you had landed yourself in.
“Need another?” A new voice spoke from behind. Y/N turned around slowly shyly smiling at the aviator in behind her.
“Uhh, sure.” You bit your lip turning back towards the bar cursing your inability to even hold a conversation with the handsome stranger.
“You mind?” He pointed to the chair.
You shook your head no racking your brain for anything to say to the man sitting beside you. He was beautiful Y/N thought. A far departure from her once fiancée Aaron, the stranger sported blonde hair and green eyes, stunning green eyes. Y/N took a breath and smiled again at him.
“I’m Y/N.”
“Beautiful name for an even more beautiful woman.” He grinned calling Penny over to refill both drinks.
You couldn’t stop the light blush that crept across your face, earning a chuckle from the handsome stranger sitting next to you.
“Don’t even think about it Hangman.” Penny spoke eyeing her niece and the serial player sitting close together, “Not my niece.” She glared at him taking both glasses.
He chuckled sticking his hand out to you, “Jake Seresin, callsign Hangman.”
You took his hand gingerly in yours shaking it briefly, “Nice to meet you.” You eyed him curiously waiting for an explanation that was never going to come.
“Hangman?” You questioned.
“Long story.” He nodded scooting ever so slightly closer to you.
“Like the kids game?”
This time he laughed, loudly, drawing the attention of his fellow aviators. “Exactly like the kids game.”
You nodded, “That’s interesting.”
“Just like me sweetheart.”
You could feel another blush creep up, you mentally cursed your face for giving you away so easily. Y/N was flustered. Aaron wasn’t nearly as smooth as this beautiful man was before you. You didn’t know how to deal with this level of boldness, not quite used to the attention he was giving you.
Penny saved your racing thoughts setting the beers down rather hard eyeing Jake in the process. “I’ve got my eye on you Seresin.” She smiled walking away back over to Maverick on the other side of the bar.
“What’s that about?” You asked sincerely hoping for an honest answer from the man sitting even more closely now, not that you minded.
“Nothing sweetheart.” he finally looked back up into your eyes stopping whatever he was going to say.
This time it was his turn to sigh, “I might have a small reputation.”
Furrowing your eyebrows, you took a long drawn-out sip of your beer waiting for him to go on.
He ran a hand through his hair trying to figure out what to say to the beautiful woman sitting next to him. He wasn’t sure what had come over him, but her eyes stopped his usual spiel. It was like she was bearing her entire soul to him in just the way she was looking at him. He sucked in a breath before continuing.
“A playboy reputation?” He spoke timidly, grinning at her but he knew she could see right through it.
“Ahh, there it is.” Y/N clicked her tongue almost afraid to look back him. You knew you would get sucked back into his eyes, all green and perfect. It’s always the eyes for Y/N.
He gulped knowing his next words would dictate the way the rest of his night would go, “Come over and meet my friends. They’re a great group of people.”
You looked at him expectantly considering the options. He quickly pivoted away from that statement. Bud what else did you have to lose? You knew his end game now and you certainly weren’t going to let him take you home tonight.
“Sure.” You nodded standing from your seat. He grabbed your beer and led you over to the small group of people standing around the pool table. Jake cleared his through garnering the attention of the crew.
“This is Y/N, our dear Penny’s niece.”
“We know.” Pornstache guy smiled walking over to you, “Penny told me.” He winked at Jake before continuing looking down at you, “Bradley Bradshaw ma’am, these assholes call me Rooster.”
You smiled seeing the rest of the group groan telling him to shut up, “Nice to meet you, Bradley.” You opted for using his real name, not quite comfortable enough to use the nicknames just yet.
“These two are both trouble.” The lone female stepped up and pulled you away, “Natasha, or Phoenix.” She smiled snatching your beer away from Jake before handing it back to you. “Those two playing pool are Payback and Bob.”
You waved quickly turning your attention back to Natasha, “It’s a pleasure to meet you all, although slightly overwhelming.”
She laughed patting your back, “You just missed the big group. We just wrapped up a mission a few days ago. Everybody is getting reassigned. I luckily get to stay for a while longer with these smooth brains.”
“Hey now,” Jake walked back over eyeing you subtly, “You love us Phoenix.”
She scoffed, “Love is a word you can use.” She spoke while rolling her eyes.
“So, Y/N,” Jake spoke in his oddly attractive southern draw, you turned you attention back to the man, “where are you from? What’s your story?”
You noticed the rest of the crew go back to what they were doing leaving you with Jake, Phoenix shaking her head used to Jake’s antics.
You tapped your glass thinking of what you wanted to tell him, “From Ohio, lived in Michigan, broke up with a guy and now I’m here.” You nodded your head knowing that’s all you wanted to say.
He chuckled this time taking his turn to respond. Noting that Y/N was closed off. “You want to go for a walk darling?”
You eyed him curiously, “Are you going to murder me?”
You earned a snort from him this time, “Now why would I do that to the beautiful woman I’m trying to take out on a date?”
You shrugged, “Just something a murderer would suggest.” You smiled up at him charmingly, “Wait, did you say date?”
“I did beautiful.” Smirking he took a long drink from his glass. You gulped eyeing him, how could one be so attractive taking a drink of beer?
You hummed keeping your eyes on him as he lowered his glass, “Maybe. You’ll have to convince me though.” You shrugged as nonchalantly as you could muster, trying to form some sort of confidence.
“Well let me take you on a walk then darling.” He grinned setting his empty glass down on a table.
“Alright,” you set your glass down and turned towards Natasha, “if I don’t come back though, he did it.” You pointed towards Jake.
She laughed, “Jake is many things, I don’t think he’s slick enough to get away with murder though.”
Jake rolled his eyes and softly touched your wrist, “May I?”
You snapped your body back around feeling his warm touch on your arm, “Okay.” You spoke while your brain short circuited from the contact. He pulled your arm gently into his side bringing you closely to him. You were sure your heart was about to beat right out of your chest.
The two of you walked slowly down the beach in a comfortable silence listening to the waves crash onto shore.
“From Ohio? And moved to Michigan?” He asked softly not wanting to startle you.
You hummed agreeing with his statement, “Got my degree and found a job in Michigan. It’s a beautiful state, just too cold in the winter.”
He chuckled, “It doesn’t get too cold in Texas.”
“That where you’re from?”
“Yes ma’am.” He spoke while rubbing his thumb along your forearm sending a wave of chills down your body. “Born and raised, Texas is home.”
“Never been.” You admitted.
He gasped, “Well I’ll be. I’ll take you there one day.” He squeezed your arm gently.
“Oh really?”
“If you let me that is.” He spoke sounding rather nervous, a far cry from his previous flirting.
“We’ll see Tic Tac Toe.”
He threw his head back laughing loudly, “Hangman darling.”
“I like Candyland better.” You looked up to him for the first time since you two left the bar smiling as his green eyes reflected the sunset on the horizon.
“Well, I’ll tell you what darling,” he stopped abruptly which halted you in place, “you can call me whatever kids game you want if you let me take you out?”
Giggling you bit your cheek to suppress the grin forming on your face, “That’s a tempting offer.”
He nodded, “Then take it.” He winked down at you pulling you slightly closer to him.
You did want to take his offer. He was a beautiful man practically begging you to go on one date with him. Why were you so apprehensive? Was it the look Penny gave you before you went off with him? Was it the thought of even attempting to form a new relationship so soon after the last one ended? Was it simply because you were scared? You looked up at him biting your lip softly trying to form a coherent sentence with him looking at you so expectantly.
“What’s got you thinking so hard beautiful?” He asked while raising his eyebrow, curious to the girl’s apprehension. Jake wasn’t used to it. Sure, women have played hard to get but he always knew their end game. With you? He wasn’t so sure. You were shy, quiet and seemed uncertain. Something was stopping you and it was already driving Jake mad. You were simply different, as cliché as that sounds. You clearly wanted to entertain his advances, but he could not figure out the why, yet.
You hummed still trying to figure out what to say to him. Of course, the stupid blush you couldn’t hide crept back up onto your face. Should you just tell him the truth? You didn’t want to offload so much onto this nearly complete stranger, but he seemed so earnest, so eager to learn about you that you had the urge to.
Still stopped on the supposed walk you were supposed to be taking you finally garnered the courage to speak to him, “Jake, I just got out of a long and quite frankly heartbreaking relationship. I don’t know if I’m ready yet. I don’t want to string you along or hurt you.” You finished the last part of your statement quietly, so quietly you weren’t sure if he heard it.
There it was, he knew there had to be something. He also knew you were a total sweetheart just in the admission. You didn’t want to hurt him?
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked.
This question made you think. Did you want to talk about it? You’ve only talked to your mom about it, Penny a bit but the nitty gritty details were left out. You did want to talk about it, but with Jake? You weren’t sure.
“I don’t want to unload on you like that, I hardly know you.” You admitted sheepishly avoiding his gaze that never seemed to leave your face.
“And how do people get to know other people Y/N?” He asked sincerely, not trying to sound like an asshole but really trying to get to know you.
You let a small chuckle escape your mouth nodding your head to his point, “They talk.”
“Exactly.” He grinned at you once you finally got the courage to look back up to him, “And I asked about that, I want to know. But if you don’t want me to know that’s alright. There’s many things to talk about.”
You shook your head more in disbelief than anything, “Who are you, Jake? My aunt obviously thinks of you a certain way yet you’re speaking to me like somebody completely different.”
He shrugged, “She sees a certain persona that I want everybody to see. I’m not just that person, that’d make me a pretty awful person.”
“Then why do you put that persona out there?” You questioned, genuinely curious.
“That’s a great question Y/N. One that I’m still figuring out.”
You nodded at his honesty deciding to air out your own baggage to him, “My fiancée cheated on me. I’m not sure how many times or when it started but I caught him out one night at the bar making out with somebody else.” You spoke quickly.
He softly squeezed your arm in comfort, “That’s no man, darling. Dodged yourself a bullet.”
“Spent way to long chasing and holding onto that bullet.” You sighed.
The rest of your walk with Jake consisted of you spilling every detail, to an extent, to him. Something felt so right talking with him. He was the first person who just listened and let you speak your mind. He spoke up when you needed him to, but he let you get it al out. You also learned quite about him in return, you weren’t going to let him get away knowing so much of your baggage without knowing some of his.
He talked about the ‘one that got away’ and how he fucked it up. How his insecurities let the best thing that’s ever happened to him walk away. He admitted to you that he didn’t want to do that again, to feel such sadness knowing it was from your own mistakes.
Before the both of you knew it you spent two hours walking up and down the now dark beach as the sun had set hours prior. When you finally got back to the Hard Deck your aunt was closing the place down with Pete sitting there patiently waiting on her. You didn’t see any of the other aviators as you looked around.
“Have fun?” Penny asked eyeing you curiously seeing as who you came back to the bar with.
You nodded walking to her, Jake in tow, “I did.”
“Me too.” Jake chimed in placing his hand at the small of your back. You could not stop the shiver that ripped down your body from the feeling. You could have sworn you heard Jake laugh softly in response.
Penny smiled shaking her head, “That’s good. What’d you two do?”
You noticed Pete listening in but trying to make it seem like he wasn’t, “Just walked and talked.” You admitted without admitting a single thing.
Penny smiled eyeing Jake yet again, “Just, be careful.” She spoke to you.
“I am, don’t worry Aunt Pen.”
“It’s not you that I’m worried about.” She answered truthfully earning a chuckle from the tall blonde pilot.
“I can promise you Penny, there’s no way I could hurt this one right here. If anything, she’ll go breaking my heart.”
You rolled your eyes trying to play it off cool, but the blush had another idea. Penny grinned like a Cheshire cat seeing your reaction to his over-the-top statement. Penny handed the two of you another round of beers, on her, before quickly turning her attention back to cleaning and Pete.
Gaining some confidence as he led you away from earshot you finally said what you wanted to, “So Jake, about that date?

Sugar is out on mission, so Bucky picks Henry and Lottie from school!
Lottie is hopping and giggling and hands inter twined with Tommy.
Lottie - Daddy look what I made *shows her drawing of her family*
Tommy - Mr.Bucky look what I made *that's Lottie and me getting married*
What would Bucky's reaction be🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha let this man’s heart have some rest!!!
School pick up
Warning: Tommy existing, Bucky’s blood pressure going up…
Most of the time you were the one to pick up the kids from school. Today was an exception. You were needed on a mission and it became Bucky’s responsibility to pick the kids up. He didn’t always have the chance to do this so he was more than happy to strap Peanut in their car seat to pick up the older two Barnes kids.
Henry was the first to be let out of school. Now it was just a matter of Bucky picking up his Doll. There was a line of other parents at the elementary school waiting for their kids as well. Bucky stood beside the car and scanned the door of the school once kids started pouring out.
“Daddy!” Bucky heard Lottie’s unmistakable voice ringing over all the other noise. “Hi daddy.”
“Hi doll.” He waved and smiled to her as she pushed her way through the crowd.
The smile quickly dropped from his face when he saw Lottie holding hands with Tommy. She was pulling him along with her. They skipped along happily until they stopped right in front of him.
“Hi daddy. I missed you.”
“I missed you too, Doll. That’s why I came to pick you up.” Bucky picked Lottie up and accepted a kiss on the cheek from her.
“Hi Mr. Bucky.”
“Thomas.” Bucky said curtly.
“Daddy can I show you my drawing?”
“Of course.”
Lottie smiles big while Henry moves to hang out of the open car window. Tommy waves at him and he waves back but mostly Henry’s expression mirrors his father’s.
“Wook it. It’s us.” Lottie holds up her artwork . It’s a picture of the family and alpine. You’re all at the beach smiling and having fun.
“Wow this is amazing. This is definitely going on the fridge.”
Lottie beamed at her father.
“I made a drawing too Mr. Bucky. Wanna see it?” Tommy says while already digging through his backpack that was too big for him. “Look.”
Bucky stared down at the piece of paper and his blood boils. He can literally feel his blood pressure rising. There in the drawing is Tommy in a suit and bow tie holding hands with Lottie. He drew her hair up in a bun and a white dress. She’s holding flowers in one hand while the other is joined with his. If that wasn’t enough there were hearts all around them and the words Lottie and Tommy forever on the top.
“Miss Daisy helped me write our names. Do you think my mom will put it up on our fridge?”
“Yeah it’s so nice.” Lottie replies.
“We have to go Doll. Say goodbye to Thomas.”
“Bye Tommy.”
“Bye Lottie.” They hug and Bucky has to hold himself back.
“Alright let’s go Doll.” He opens the door for her and helps with her seat belt. She’s immediately distracted by Peanut.
They drive silently all the way home. By the time they’re hopping out of the car you walk out of the front door. You can see Bucky’s seething and want to laugh already. Before you can ask you welcome the kids with hugs and kisses.
“What happened?” You say as the kids walk inside.
“He drew a picture of them.”
“Aw that’s so sweet. He always draws something very nice, Tommy is quite the little artist.”
“He drew them on their wedding day and on top of the page it said Lottie and Tommy forever. Their teacher helped him write it. I’m going to call the school to complain.”
“Complain about what? The teacher doing her job?” You say with a laugh while you follow him in.
“For allowing this kid to lie to my girl.”
“How is he lying?” You ask.
“He’s not gonna live long enough for forever.” Bucky says pissed off.
“Well they don’t know that.”
“I’m not gonna let him live long enough.”
Now you’re standing there laughing at him. You lean up and kiss his cheek.
“You’re ridiculous. Stop threatening the life of a kindergartener and start accepting the fact that one day Charlotte will fall in love.”
“No she won’t. I’ll stop it before it happens.” Bucky sports his usual pout.
You roll your eyes and start walking away. “What you should be doing is thinking about what song you want to dance to at her wedding when she becomes Mrs. Tommy Anderson.”
“Not funny.” He yells as you start laughing.

So I saw a take on Leshy/P03 and their divorce so time for my overly angst filled take on it.
Leshy (at least in my opinions) is very possesive. Agree or disagree this is important in my theory
At first leshy was, well, normal. Still a dramatic narrator with everything. Would narrate their entire dates if P03 wouldn't shut him up with kisses. But normal. Issues were talked out and they were fine.
But then leshys own manipulative and possesive behaviors came out closer and closer to their wedding. To make myself clear this wasn't a bad thing entirely, leshy wanted to keep him close because he didn't want to lose him. But it got progressively worse.
Leshy would call him 20 times a minute whenever he would leave the house and try and keep him inside for as long as possible. He would talk bad about others that P03 might have considered friends before the scrybes started quarreling and he shut himself off. P03 was with leshy, usually swearing his undying love to him to help calm his troubles, almost every hour of the day.
And P03 never spoke up, because wanting to be around your partner was love, right?
Then the wedding day had come, Both of them absolutely gorgeous. (I'm drawing P03 in a wedding dress fucking watch me) and the entire time leshy wanted P03 to go nowhere from that point on, to secure that they would never be apart for a second.
So when they got home that day, that's when it happened. Rose petals on the bed, candle lights. P03 was in awe, even back then he couldn't believe any affection, even if they were literally just married, would ever be there for him nor would he deserve it. Leshy brought P03 to the bed, and his inscrybing camera was underneath it.
This is where it gets dark, violence warning.
It starts with leshy simply holding P03, massaging him as he giggles and pokes leshy a bit back, tracing around the plating gently. Leshys eyes would begin to circle around orange, not unlike he was in a trance.
The beast took a harsher tone with the machine, as it looked confused up at them. Scraping the metal with his fingernails despite its wincing. Splitting P03s dress in two, before carving its name into his frame. Opening his chassis and plucking wires apart, as if being picked apart like meat, as the machine simply cried.
An important component lost its connection and leshy smiled, pulling out his inscrybing camera. But he was unhappy with how the photo would look, P03s screen was off. The component was sloppily powered on again and P03 awoke with a gasp. Wanting to run, but knowing his components would just fall out, wanting to scream, but he was not in his factory, no one would hear from their cabin.
Leshy took the photo, a picture and a stoat card was made. The first scrybe to be reborn as a card. Then grimora, then magnificus. (but magnificus deserved it, fuck him)
As soon as they were released from those cards, P03 has shut down emotionally, repairing himself the best he could and limping back to his factory, every trace of leshy was gotten rid of. P03 no longer had a softer side.
He had turnt himself into one without emotions, pure focus on gaining control, control means he will not be hurt. No sympathy for the workers he once praised, no focus on making his game fun for the challengers. Nothing. Because if he let no one in he would never have to force someone out, crying and broken.
#inscryption#p03#inscryption p03#p03 x reader#p03 inscryption#MMMM ANGST#i am so sorry yall#i want to beat up leshy#and i want to kill magnificus#grimora can stay but like#over there#and yes i am actually going to draw p03 in a wedding dress#how do i not he would be beautiful?!?!

shadows in the night
battinson!bruce wayne x f!reader
epilogue
summary: more than a year after the events of middle of the night, y/n and Bruce are happily engaged and working to lower the amount of crime in Gotham. However, a new killer calling himself the Riddler has other plans for their happiness…set during the events of the movie, mostly canonical, some changes made to fit the story
a/n: I literally can’t believe this story is over. I started writing MOTN in March this year, and it has been with me ever since. Almost 9 months straight of MOTN and Battinson. I’m so thankful for this story and the community it brought me and how much fun it’s been over the course of these months! I could write an entire essay on what it means to me and about the people this story brought into my life, but I’ll keep it short and sweet for now.
I’d like to note that I kept this short on purpose--it’s just a glimpse into their future, and I didn’t want to bog it down with too many details. However, I do plan on including at least one more oneshot (maybe more).
(PS: @captain-ariel-rogers you’re welcome)

Every tragedy in his life had led him there, to a home full of love and laughter, even amidst the shadows that came in the night.
The wind on top of the signal tower was unforgiving as Bruce waited next to the spotlight. It was March already, but winter had refused to release its claws from Gotham.
Things in the city had changed, and not all for the good. Not all for the bad, either.
Bella Reál had proven herself time and again to be a more than capable mayor. She thrived in the chaos, in the uncertainty, and had whipped Gotham into shape so quickly it had made Bruce’s head spin. Despite all of the crime, despite how many nights his signal shone in the dark, the new mayor had wrestled control of the city back into the hands of the good.
The trial had started in December as planned, despite the flooding and the wreckage of the city, mostly due to Bella Reál’s firm hand. It had taken weeks, draining them all, but in the end every single man had been convicted on multiple counts and been sent to prison for decades if not the rest of their lives.
For a while, as y/n was forced to relive her trauma on the stand, she had become a shell of herself. She had been withdrawn and quiet throughout the ordeal, the weight of the world holding her down despite Bruce and Alfred and even Gordon doing their best to share her burden. Her nightmares had worsened and Bruce had forced himself to come home earlier and earlier each night simply to be there for her.
But the closer the trial got to its end, the more fiery she became. Her shoulders had straightened and she had thrown herself into rebuilding not only the Gotham Project, but the Renewal Fund as well, and even several other smaller projects that went hand in hand with helping the city.
And she had planned their wedding. She wanted to get it done right, as Bruce had requested, but she also didn’t want to wait.
He was, to put it plainly, in awe of her.
And now, as March started to draw to a close, still wrapped in an unseasonably late winter, their wedding day loomed.
Bruce wasn’t sure what he was more nervous for–the meeting he was about to have with the newly appointed Commissioner Gordon, or the wedding day itself.
He fiddled with a hair tie he kept looped on his utility belt, a habit he had developed in the past year and a half.
It wasn’t too long before the elevator in the tower started rattling its way upwards.
Bruce inhaled sharply and fought against nervously tapping his foot or pacing back and forth. He forced himself into stillness as the doors slid open and Gordon stepped out. The man cursed and burrowed more deeply into his coat.
“Couldn’t we have done this inside?” Gordon called out.
“Light’s warm,” he said softly. It was true–the giant spotlight radiated warmth, more and more the longer it was on. Gordon shivered as he came to a stop next to Bruce. He rubbed his hands together to warm them. Bruce was glad for his own gloves, a newer pair that y/n had made him get that were thicker and lined with fleece. She’d forced him to winter proof his suit, for which he was grateful even if he had grumbled about it at the time.
“Been a while,” Gordon said as they both looked out over the city. It had been a while–things had died down over the past several weeks to the point where the signal was rarely needed. Bruce mostly patrolled on his own and used police scanners to find out where he was needed. “How you been, man?”
Bruce almost frowned. He didn’t realize that they made small talk now. “Fine,” he said.
“Good, good.” Gordon rubbed his hands together again almost absently, then glanced up at Bruce. “So, what have you got for me?”
Bruce couldn’t help shifting slightly from foot to foot. He hoped Gordon didn’t notice. But he was a good detective, a good cop–he likely did notice even if he was pretending otherwise.
Finally, Bruce said, voice gruff and nonchalant, “I have to…step back for a couple of weeks. I wanted you to know, in case you needed me and I didn’t show.”
He’d wavered back and forth, over and over again, between telling Gordon he was leaving and simply disappearing. But he cared for the city too much and had eventually decided that he couldn’t leave without telling someone. Y/n had agreed that Gordon was the best choice–he was trustworthy and likely wouldn’t press for information.
“I figured as much,” Gordon said. Bruce’s eyebrows drew together behind his mask. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll look out for things here, even turn the light on and off and spread some rumors. Make it seem like you’re still around.”
Bruce opened his mouth, then closed it again. “Why?” he said, the only question he could come up with that wouldn’t sound suspicious.
Gordon gave him a sly look then shrugged. “I want you to enjoy your honeymoon.”
The world fell away from Bruce’s feet. How could Gordon possibly know that was Bruce’s reason for leaving? He had no idea who Bruce was. Or at least, he shouldn’t.
“Wh-what?” Bruce said. He silently cursed the stammer in his voice that likely gave it all away. His heart thundered in his ears. Everything went utterly quiet in his mind, every thought wiped out by a wave of pure shock.
Gordon spread his hands innocently. “I’m just saying, man, if you were getting married this weekend and if you were about to go on your honeymoon, I don’t want you worrying about the city. I can take care of things for a couple of weeks.”
Bruce struggled to remain still, to control his breathing, to reign in the panic building in his chest. It was as if he’d just taken a dive over the side of the tower, the world rushing past him as his stomach swooped up towards his throat and his heart pounded with fear and adrenaline.
All the while, Gordon simply stared out at the skyline of Gotham all around them, his breath fogging in front of him as he breathed deeply and evenly.
Bruce silently warred with himself. Did Gordon actually know, or was he guessing? A cold sweat started at his spine and worked its way upwards.
But then he thought back to all the small interactions he’d had with Gordon, especially the ones where y/n had been around. The looks Gordon sometimes gave them, the small comments here and there. Gordon had even joked about y/n being taken and Batman having feelings for her, more than once.
Gordon knew.
Gordon had known for a while.
“How?” Bruce said after a long silence had stretched and warped between them. How did Gordon know, how was he sure, how long ago had he figured it out? That one word encapsulated everything Bruce wanted to ask.
“The gala,” Gordon said, which was the exact opposite answer of what Bruce had anticipated. “Your butler was there. She told the two of you to go home and, well…wasn’t hard to connect the dots after that. Especially with the way you looked at her. You tried to hide it, but…” Gordon chuckled.
Bruce swallowed hard. The roaring had quieted in his ears, but he still felt panicked, unsure. He had always known his feelings for y/n would be what led someone to connect his identity to Batman. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
Gordon finally turned to face him. His expression was light, almost amused. “No offense, but I don’t really care who you are.” He shrugged. “You and me, we have the same goals. We want to keep the city safe. It doesn’t matter to me who you are. It never mattered to me.”
Bruce felt something odd in his chest at the words. He opened and closed his mouth several times.
Gordon had known for a year and a half and had never said anything. Had never cared.
“Like I said, man–enjoy your honeymoon.” Gordon winked, slapped him on the back, and left without another word.
Bruce could only stare after him, utterly stunned.
Finally, when he was so cold it hurt, he flipped off the light and left.
His thoughts churned all the way home. He couldn’t get past it–Gordon had known this whole time. He had never revealed Bruce’s secret, had never even gotten close, not even to Bruce himself.
Another person in his life that he didn’t deserve. Gordon had been a truer friend than he had ever realized.
Bruce changed in the abandoned subway station, shivering from the cold. It was later than he’d thought. He’d been frozen–literally and figuratively–atop the tower for much longer than he’d planned to be.
Upstairs, he found Alfred asleep on the couch, the cat Vinny curled up on his lap. Bruce smiled to himself. The butler always acted like he didn’t like the cat, who was now twice as big and twice as fluffy as he’d been when Selina had dropped him off. But toys always mysteriously showed up for the cat, ones that Bruce certainly hadn’t purchased and y/n swore she hadn’t gotten either.
Bruce quietly turned off the lamp and left them to sleep before turning towards his room.
That last little bit of anxiety finally melted from his chest.
The city was in Gordon’s capable hands. He knew he didn’t have to worry while he was gone. And as an added bonus, he didn’t even have to worry about anyone connecting the absence of Batman with Bruce Wayne’s absence. Gordon had taken care of that, too.
Bruce slid into bed next to y/n and sighed as she immediately curled up close to him.
He couldn’t wait for her to be his wife.
–
“Stop fidgeting,” Alfred murmured as he fixed Bruce’s bowtie. “You’ve no reason to be nervous.”
Easy for Alfred to say, Bruce thought a bit bitterly. Bruce hated having the spotlight on him. There were so many ways he could mess things up. And he didn’t want to mess a single thing up–he wanted it all to go perfectly.
“It’s y/n,” Alfred said as he smoothed the bowtie into place again. “Just you and her. No one else.”
And somehow, the words worked.
It’s just y/n, Bruce repeated silently to himself. He thought of her smile, her laugh, her warm hand in his, that little furrow between her eyebrows when she was concentrating. His nerves ebbed and settled. They were still present, but they were no longer choking him.
“Alright,” Alfred said as he stepped back. “That’s your cue, my boy.”
“Right,” Bruce said. The music had indeed shifted. He was supposed to go out to the altar. They’d practiced it the night before and everything.
“Now I have to go get the bride,” Alfred said with a wink.
Bruce swallowed and nodded. He made to step away, to go take his place, but Alfred caught him by the arm.
“I know neither of us are much for words,” Alfred said. He swallowed hard. Were those…tears in his eyes? Bruce was suddenly nervous again for a completely different reason. “But I love you like my own. You and y/n both.”
Bruce nodded because the lump in his throat wouldn’t let him speak. “I love you, too,” he finally managed, barely a whisper.
Alfred hugged him quickly, then shoved him none too gently towards the door.
“See you soon,” Alfred said with a watery smile.
And then Bruce was standing in front of the crowd, palms sweating, all alone except for the woman who would be officiating. He saw Gordon in a smart suit, his wife at his side. There were Bryn and Ollie, sitting with Lena and her son. The lone reporter they had invited to document the event with several incredibly thorough contracts. Bruce’s old housekeeper, Dory, whom y/n had replaced when she’d retired. Even Selina was there, dressed in black and sitting near the back. She caught his eye and winked.
It wasn’t really a crowd, only their closest friends and acquaintances. But it felt like hundreds of people to Bruce.
His only stipulation, besides doing the wedding the right way, was to get married in the same church where his parents had gotten married. He’d worried y/n would be disappointed, that it wouldn’t fit with her vision of the wedding, but she’d been enthusiastic about the idea.
His parents and her mother also had seats reserved for them, and he felt their eyes on him more than anyone else’s.
The music shifted again, and every single thought eddied from his mind.
The doors at the end of the aisle opened, and there she was.
His breath caught in his chest.
She was perfect. Her smile was wide and bright and the sight of it was like an arrow slicing through him.
Her eyes met his and the rest of the world faded away.
Emotion swelled, choking him, blurring his vision.
He had never expected to find a love like this, a love like hers, and here she was, moving towards him and looking at him like he had hung the moon.
Distantly, Bruce felt wetness on his cheeks.
But all he could see was her–the woman who was going to be his wife.
As she got closer and closer every last bit of nervousness he’d felt disappeared under her brightness. He was simply an object in her orbit, following her sun, helplessly caught by her gravity. She eclipsed everything else, utterly radiant and so perfect he could never believe she was going to be his.
Belatedly, he fumbled for the handkerchief Alfred had given him that morning. It had been Bruce’s fathers and still bore the initials T.W. He wiped at his eyes only because the tears were blurring the perfect vision of the woman in white before him.
He shoved the handkerchief back in his pocket, eyes never straying from her, and held out his hand as she stepped up to him.
Her hand was warm and fit perfectly in his own.
“Hi,” she whispered with a soft laugh as the officiant told everyone to be seated.
They faced forward and Bruce whispered, “Hi,” back to her, his smile so wide it hurt.
Now that she was close, he took in the small details, the world slowly fading back in at the edges. He was still focused on her, but it was no longer a total eclipse.
Her dress wasn’t quite white–ivory, he was pretty sure they called it, which he only knew from their many conversations about dress shopping–and had a long train. Her veil was long, too, making her look regal beside him, a queen at her coronation. The material of the dress was almost silky, unadorned but not boring. Nestled at his throat were his mother’s pearls, matching the delicate pearls on her veil. His breath caught again at the sight.
Y/n heard the small noise and turned her face to him to smile.
This woman was going to be his wife.
She nudged him gently and with a jolt, he realized that he was supposed to be paying attention to the officiant. But he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the woman at his side for long, stopping every few seconds to look at her in awe.
The ceremony was flying by without him hardly noticing. He vowed to love her, protect her, be beside her always. He vowed that they would never be parted, even in death. He reminded her that she was everything he’d ever wanted, the words choking him on the way out.
He had written the vows in an almost fugue state the night before, the words pouring from him. He meant every single thing he promised.
Then y/n vowed to love him, support him, be with him in all things. She laughed when she repeated that she would protect him and that not even death could part them. He was crying again, but he didn’t care.
They exchanged rings and then–
Then they were pronounced husband and wife.
Bruce kissed her fiercely. She was so warm against him, soft in all the right ways, and he never wanted to let her go. He wouldn’t ever let her go.
There were cheers around them. Y/n was still smiling, her eyes wet.
“My husband,” she murmured for his ears only. Was it his imagination, or did she glow even more brightly as she said the words?
“Mrs. Wayne,” he said back teasingly, enjoying the way her breath hitched at the name. “Extraordinary woman.”
Y/n was finally his wife. She was his, in every way.
He was never letting her go.

The Autocomplete Interview
Summary → your favorite thing about interviews is how cuddly tom gets afterwards, almost like he’s a life size teddy bear.
Warning(s) → literally nothing but fluff and tom getting teased by the reader and zendaya
Word Count → 1.5k

Tom has his arms wrapped around your waist, rocking your bodies while the makeup team touches up your eyes and hair. He’s in a conversation with Harry and Zendaya, occasionally humming as if he thinks you’ve said something, before he goes back to them. It’s heartwarming.
Buzzfeed is your last interview of the afternoon, and then you’re free until nightfall when you’re expected at the Hilton across town for another round of press. It’s days like these that remind you of elementary school field trips, only instead of an ugly yellow school bus that was kept together by duct tape, you’re riding coach.
When both you and Zendaya are cleared for camera, you bring Tom towards the chairs, shoving him back, and forcing him down on the one furthest left. A few laughs go around, watching your boyfriend get shoved around in his expensive slacks and neon yellow turtleneck. You’d teased him earlier about the denim jacket he wore, asking if he took it straight from your closet back home. He grinned as if you we’re the funniest thing he’d come across, placing wet kisses into your skin until you begged him to stop, laughing nonsensically and promising he looked ‘hella hot’.
After a sound check, and a screen test to make sure none of you we’re washed out, cameras counted down from three. You squeezed Tom’s hand twice before you dropped it, eyes directly down the barrel of the camera.
“Hey, it’s Zendaya here.”
“Y/N”
“Tom Holland.”
Your boyfriend sounds entirely british as he pushes his fingertips together in his lap. He's tired, the long day wearing him thin. You can’t wait to strip your skin of makeup, let your dress fall in a pool around your ankles, and take a much deserved nap in his arms. As much as you love press, and being with your friends, you need your boyfriend's skin against yours. You need to decompress before you start all over again at sundown.
“And we’re uh, about to do our,” Zendaya looks to you, grin on her face. She’s tired, you all are, but unlike you she’s miles away from anyone to cuddle with. Maybe you’ll ditch Tom, fall asleep with Zendaya instead.
“Wired,”
“Autocomplete,”
“Interview.”
Zendaya’s handed the cardstock first, questions for Tom beneath strips of paper. You shudder, the same as Tom, when she scratches her fingers along the board and peels the paper away. You’re hardly as dramatic as your boyfriend, who coils into himself and raises his hands to his ears. You laugh, but your spine is still cold from the hideous noise. Your hand reaches out, and you tenderly pat him on the thigh.
A joke about your wedding comes into mind, but you pocket it for later, not willing to risk your intimacy making it into the final cut of the interview. You may be open about your relationship, and the fact that yes, you are banging Tom, but you’re still reserved with most things in your life-- including the engagement ring that’s tucked away back at your London apartment. Maybe one day, after the wedding, you’ll be open to sharing the ring, but for now, it’s your perfect little secret.
“Alright, first question. Does Tom Holland do his own stunts?”
“I do actually, I do my own stunts, but there are some stunts that I can’t do,” Tom’s eyes shift to you when you mumble beneath your breath, entirely displeased with the many times he’s come home hurt after he insisted that he could do his own stunts. He had too much faith and pride in his limited gymnastics background, “and then I have my stunt double Greg and Luke, who are incredibly talented, and have made some of the action sequences in this film, I would say, some of the most incredible sequences ever. Um, yeah, so I do do my own stunts, but I can’t take full credit.”
You smile softly, proud of all the work your boyfriend puts into not only his projects, but keeping himself in shape so the filming process isn’t so grueling. He’s missed out on a lot of sleep, but he takes his wins with his losses. He’s somebody you look up to.
“Does Tom Holland play video games?”
You scoff, rolling your eyes. You look towards your partner expectantly, lips coiled into an unimpressed pout. He’s the worst. No matter the hour, if he has a console with him, he’s chatting to Harrison until you either unplug the system, or crawl into his lap and beg with him to come to bed-- usually it’s the latter, but Harrison’s heard quite a few squabbles take place in your flat.
“You know, every now and then.” He shrugs, and your jaw drops. You raise your eyebrows, eyes locked with his. His cheeks flush, but nothing needs to be said. Your expression give away that his habit of video games is definitely more than a ‘once and a while’ occurrence.
Zendaya laughs, shaking her head at the pair of you before she pulls another sticker off of the board, looking down at the next question, “Does Tom Holland have a spidey sense?”
“If he did, he wouldn’t have answered the last question lying through his teeth.” You say before Tom has a chance to respond. Your boyfriend, ever the bashful boy, ducks his head down into his hands as he laughs, shoulders shaking.
You bear a smile at Zendaya, subtly winking. You’ve seen the compilation videos of YouTube and Instagram. You know that the fans have caught onto your relationship with the former disney star. You’d be lying if you said friendship wasn’t built on the foundations of picking on Tom, but your boyfriend could handle the heat. If he couldn’t, he wouldn’t be in the kitchen.
Somehow, you make it through the first round of questions for each of you. Zendaya’s cracked jokes, but your social timer is running low. Tom can tell. You’ve stopped laughing at the little things, only offering small smiles and giggles. His hand wants to hold yours, rub circles into your skin as a promise that it’ll be over soon, but he can’t. He won’t let the world in on such a private moment. You already share so much of yourselves.
“How did Y/N become famous?” Zendaya read off a question, eyes lightning up as she nudged you with her elbow.
“Uh, Disney Channel.” You responded, a cheeky twitch in your lips as you tilted your head towards Zendaya. You hadn’t actually had a history with the company, but for whatever reason a rumor had spread that you and Zendaya went up for the same role back in 2009. You hadn’t, but you poked fun at the obscure lie as often as you could.
“Who is Y/N dating?”
“Tom Holland. Somebody’s gotta do his wash, and I don’t think Harry wants the job again.” You taunt, your boyfriend scoffing as he crosses his arms over his chest and sends you a sweet pout. You grin, tapping your thigh with your finger twice, a silent saying of I Love You.
“What is Y/N’s favorite color?”
You laugh, reminded of a question Zendaya got earlier about what she’s been up to. Sometimes, people's intense interest in your lives was confusing. You didn’t think yourself to be entertaining, but the millions of follows and fans who dedicated hours to edits and draws said otherwise. “Purple.”
“Who is Y/N’s favorite Holland?”
The three of you burst out laughing, your forearms resting on your thighs as you came back to yourself. The questions towards you were random, but the ones directed towards you provoked the most laughs. “I-- Besides Tom? I think it’s quite obvious who my favorite is, if we’re including him. Sam. Sam’s my favorite.”
You smile when the cameras cut, concluding your interviews for the afternoon. Tom pulls you back into his arms, whispering in your ear about how he can't wait to cuddle, curl up in your bed and sleep for a few uninterrupted hours before you’re sent back through the grueling process. You wouldn’t change your job for the world. Especially not when the constant conversation tires Tom out, and makes your already sweet boyfriend a life size teddy bear.
When you finally make it back to your hotel room, your eyes are barely open. You took your makeup off in the bus, and before Tom had even closed the hotel door you were kicking your high heels off and pleading with him to unzip your dress. He laughed, pulling his jacket off before he stepped up behind you. Letting it fall to the floor in a pool around your ankles, his arms wrap around you and tug you back into his chest.
“I love you, you goof.” You mumble against his lips, turning your head to the side so you can kiss him just as sweetly as he holds you. His sweater is soft beneath your bear skin, but you shiver anyways with the new lack of clothing.
“I love you more, Princess.”

The Wrong Lifetime – Nine // Wanda Maximoff
chapter eight | story masterlist | main masterlist | wattpad | chapter ten
author’s note: a bit late with the update today, my bad. I’m just very exhausted lol. Hope you like it though! bit beefy, just how i like it 😂
I should have realised Wanda would be a handful after literally grabbing my arse less than a metre away from her fiancé.
The final straw came when we were sat together at a table, talking to a guest who wanted to know more about the wedding plans. Y/B/N had left Wanda alone for the remainder of the evening for God knows what reason, so I was left to babysit her and make sure she didn't do anything stupid. Of course, drunk Wanda was also disobedient as well as truthful and clingy.
As the woman we were sat opposite was talking about her own wedding – the first of three, apparently – Wanda's hand kept playing with mine under the table. I shot her a serious look before slapping it away gently. That wasn't enough though, as several times after, she continued to play with my fingers and intertwine hers in mine.
Not wanting to draw attention, I pushed Wanda's hand under her thigh with hopes she'd keep it there and stop fussing. I didn't think she was even listening to the woman and the story of her wedding dress debacle, as she was leaning on the palm of her hand and watching with boredom.
At one point, just when I thought Wanda was finally behaving, I felt her hand rest on my thigh, creeping up dangerously higher. Clenching my jaw to contain both the arousal and frustration I was feeling, I flicked my foot against hers before stuffing her hand under her thigh again. Glancing at her, she was smiling innocently in my direction.
"I'm sorry, are you okay?" the woman stopped mid-talk, looking to Wanda.
Wanda straightened up in her seat, flashing the woman a bright smile. "Yes. But if I may ask–"
"Oh, no..." I mumbled, already internally facepalming.
"–don't you think my almost sister-in-law is very pretty?"
My head snapped to hers as I attempted to disguise my panic with a nervous smile. The woman looked between us, waiting patiently for Wanda to continue.
"Good looks runs in the family it seems," Wanda said, stretching her hand out to caress my cheek, but I immediately caught it before she could, chuckling awkwardly.
The woman found Wanda's behaviour funny as she nodded in agreement. "The Y/L/Ns are a very good looking family indeed. Especially your fiancé, dear. What a handsome man he is."
Wanda hummed in agreement, but her eyes were only focused on me. Under any other circumstances, I would have appreciated how cute she was and been touched at her words, but now wasn't that time.
"My lovely almost sister-in-law is particularly drunk tonight I'm afraid," I spoke truthfully to the woman, offering an apologetic smile. "I should make sure she's okay."
"Of course," the woman said, nodding. "It was nice speaking to you both."
I smiled in response for both of us before leading Wanda away from the table and to an emptier-looking part of the room. Spinning around, I gave her a disapproving look.
"You can't say that," I said quietly, shaking my head. "Not here. Not now."
She licked her lips, wearing an enchanting smile, unbothered by our surroundings. "I can't help it. I'm so in love with you and you look irresistible tonight, milaya (darling)."
I sighed, my neck growing warm as she watched me with adoration. "Okay, I think it's time to call it a night."
"No, I want to stay," she whined, but I ignored her and turned around to think about how we could leave.
Once again, I felt her hand squeeze my butt and when I turned around to scold her, I saw my brother over her shoulder, approaching us. I forced a smile on my lips and glanced at her with a glare. She grinned in response before joining my side and facing my brother with me.
"Hey, how are you?" he asked when he stopped by us.
"Good," I answered for us both, afraid Wanda would say something suspicious.
He nodded, smiling a little. "Thanks for keeping Wanda company tonight."
Using that as my opportunity, I said, "Yeah, about that. She's kind of drunk, so I think I'm going to take her home."
"Oh," he said with realisation. "I don't mind taking it from here."
I pursed my lips, desperately trying to think of a reason to stay with her. Thankfully, I didn't have to.
"How scandalous of you to want to me somewhere after hours with nobody else around," Wanda poked fun, attempting to make him feel uncomfortable. It worked.
"Oh, no– I didn't mean it like that," he said quickly, flushing at her insinuation. "Never mind." Looking to me, he added, "You should take her home and make sure she's okay. Maybe stay with her until her family gets home so you don't have to head home yourself."
I nodded, ignoring the proud smile on Wanda's lips. "Okay, see you later."
As I led Wanda outside the house and towards the carriages parked outside, I gave her a grateful look.
"Good thinking back there."
She chuckled. "He's so easy to manipulate."
"Not nice," I said, but couldn't stop the amused smile from playing on my lips.
The two of us got in the back of the carriage after I gave the driver her address and settled in. Wanda was quick to tilt my head towards her and connect our lips, but I pulled back quickly, making her frown.
"You've been very frustrating this evening," I said with a warning tone. "We get home and you get to bed. That's it."
"Well, that hardly seems fair," she said with a shake of her head. "I believe I behaved."
I tried not to laugh. "In what world, love?"
She smiled widely, eyes darting to my lips. "Some alternate universe."
"Smooth," I played along, before facing forward. "Sober up, dear. The ride isn't long."
When we reached her house, it was a struggle getting her to her bedroom, but it was an even bigger struggle getting her dressed. I managed to get her dress off, but she kept trying to kiss me as I tried to put her nightgown on. Between fits of laughter, she pushed my hands away and made me step back.
Hands on my hips, I stared down at her with a ghost of a smile on my lips. "Are you done? You can't just sleep in your bra and knickers."
She laughed, sat on the edge of her bed and looking up at me with tired eyes. "One kiss and I'll let you dress me."
"Definitely no." I shook my head. "We both know what happens after one kiss."
"When will there ever be an opportunity where we're alone together in my home?" she tried to make a point, but her accent was especially heavy, entwined with her drunkenness and making it harder to believe her logic.
I rested my hands on her shoulders and leaned my forehead on hers, staring into her eyes with amusement. "My beautiful love, you are drunk. We will not have sex when you're drunk."
Her hands tugged me closer by the waist as she smiled up at me. "But I know what I want. And I'm certain it's you."
"Not now," I repeated, removing her hands from my waist.
She pouted and I chuckled before kissing it away. Her tantrum seemed to tire her out as I was able to get her dressed after that, managing to tuck her under the covers.
"Stay with me," she mumbled, fingers clawing the air as a gesture for me to join her.
Nobody would be back for a while, I realised, and nobody was home.
"Fine," I gave in quickly, before kicking off my shoes and jumping into the bed beside her.
She grinned, snuggling into my side and breathing out contently. "Ya tak sil'no tebya lyublyu (I love you so much)."
I kissed the top of her head, holding her close and hoping she couldn't hear the rate of my heartbeat pick up. "I love you, too, Wanda."
We stayed like that, in each other's arms, until I sadly had to get up and leave her. She was asleep by the time her family returned, her face relaxed and without the constraints of reality. I smiled to myself, feeling overwhelmed with how much I was in love with her. I was lucky to have met her, I knew that much, but I was also unlucky to have met her under our circumstances.
As usual, I couldn't help but wonder what could have happened if we weren't in the wrong lifetime...
I kissed her once more, whispering an 'I love you' to her, before leaving the room and wondering if one day I might be able to stay under the covers with her, cuddling until I fell asleep, too.
—
"It won't take long, I just need to give him this," Wanda said nonchalantly, referring to the notebooks in her hand. "Then we can grab lunch."
I nodded and the two of us walked down the street until we located the Maximoff Publishing House. I'd been here a few times when visiting my brother and it always gave me a fuzzy warm feeling, my brain formulating daydreams where I could be published, too. But that's all they were – daydreams.
Wanda held the door open for me as I walked in and I gave her an appreciative smile before she followed after. She led the way to her brother's office at the back of the building and we passed several desks – editors, authors and other employees alike – before reaching it. Through the window, Wanda and I could see Pietro sat behind his desk, pen working away at some papers.
"Piet," Wanda called, knocking on the door.
He looked up and grinned, instantly motioning for us to come inside. I followed after Wanda and closed the door behind us before stopping in front of his desk.
"Y/N, I'm so glad you came!" he exclaimed, standing up and stretching out his hands ecstatically. "I didn't think you would if I'm being honest."
I tilted my head, bemused. "Er... pardon?"
"Piet, she doesn't–" Wanda started, making me look to her. She cut herself off with a sigh, massaging the bridge of her nose and shaking her head. "Oh, God."
"I'm not sure what's happening here," I said with an awkward chuckle, before taking the notebooks from Wanda's hand and dropping them on Pietro's desk, "but these are for you. Wanda said you left them at home."
He chuckled, pushing the notebooks to the side, before reaching into his top drawer and throwing some pages before me. "These are genius, Y/N."
My brows creased together with confusion as I lifted the pages, looking through them to see what had got him all happy. As my eyes skimmed the writing, my heart dropped. This was my writing.
"H-how did you get this?" I stammered, looking up at him.
His eyes flickered to Wanda and I immediately put the pieces together, my gaze falling to her. She smiled bashfully before avoiding my eyes. She'd given him my work without telling me? And she'd tricked me into coming here for this?
"I want to sign you," he stated, clasping his hands together. "Your work is amazing, arguably better than you brother's. You really undersold! And the fact that these are just excerpts means your actual completed work is even better. And I want it here at Maximoff Publishing."
My palms were sweaty as I opened my mouth to say something, but I didn't know what. He wanted to sign me? Like, properly sign me?
"Y/N?" Wanda prompted, making me look her way. She watched with encouraging eyes, nodding to her brother.
I swallowed hard and looked to Pietro. "I'll have to think about it."
My family's reaction would not be kind, I knew that now. All my life I'd been hearing about how it was unladylike and unattractive for a woman to be a writer, how I should just leave the writing to Y/B/N. He was the writer and I needed to get over it because nobody would want to publish me. Yet, here we were.
"Y/N, what are you saying?" Wanda asked, resting a hand on my forearm to get my attention. "You've talked about being published for ages."
I was beginning to regret mentioning that silly fantasy to Wanda. If I'd known she was going to give my work to her brother, I never would have said anything.
"It's fine, Wan, she just needs time to mull it over," Pietro said dismissively, before smiling at me. "I do hope you'll decide soon though."
I forced a small smile his way before turning to leave. When I reached the empty hallway, Wanda was quick to run after me, tugging me backwards so I would face her.
"Why did you do that?" I asked instantly, frowning, feeling betrayed. "What made you think I wanted this?"
Her fingers touched mine gently as she looked between my eyes. "You've told me you wanted this. I know you want this."
I shook my head, letting go of her hand and stepping back. "I can't believe you took my work and gave it to him without asking. You shouldn't have done this, Wanda. You're making waves and–"
"You deserve this," she proclaimed sternly, silencing me. Her eyes were fiery as she stared hard. "You deserve to get the credit, too. Not just your brother. It's about damn time, Y/N."
My lips pressed together firmly as I held her stare, though she was winning as she told me everything I'd wanted to hear. Just once, somebody believed in me, but I was so used to hearing otherwise that it felt foreign.
"Pietro wants to help," she said, expression softening. "He recognises talent and you have it. Maybe I should have asked before giving him your work, maybe I shouldn't have. But I know that it was the only way to push you. You're so content accepting what other people want that you don't chase what you deserve."
Her passion and belief for my work warmed my heart to the core and I was certain that I'd never been more in love with her than I was now. She didn't have to care, but she did. For once, somebody did.
"Nobody will like this," I muttered, half-convinced but still worried about the drawbacks. "It could destroy your brother's career. It could backfire."
Wanda shook her head, stepping forward and resting a hand on my neck, thumb stroking the skin comfortingly. "He wouldn't take the risk if he didn't believe in you."
I placed my hand over hers, taking it between mine as I squeezed it gently, gratefully. I didn't know what else to say, since she'd countered all of my arguments. Everything apart from my family's reaction, which she couldn't control.
"I did this for you," she murmured, before wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling me in for a hug. "For you to finally get what you deserve. So that you can make your own money and nobody can take it from you."
She paused as I returned her hug, though I was pondering her words, not knowing she felt that way. It sounded like she'd given this some thought. More than she was letting on.
"Especially if you get married," she added after consideration, and I pulled away, ready to say otherwise, but she closed her eyes and shook her head. "No, I know you don't like talking about it, but it needs to be said." She opened her eyes and I realised they were glassy with unshed tears. "I need you to be okay when it happens. I don't–" She sucked up a breath, smiling to relieve the tension, though it was full of pain. "I don't want some man owning you."
"Any money I make will belong to him anyway," I said, knowing she knew the world we lived in.
A downhearted chuckle escaped her lips. "You wouldn't allow that, Y/N, we both know that."
She wasn't wrong. But the thought of even being married to somebody that wasn't her made my heart crumble in my chest.
"Just think about it, okay?" she asked pleadingly. "Promise me you'll think about it? Properly?"
I nodded, reassuring her with a sad smile. "I will. I promise." She sighed with relief, tense shoulders relaxing. I continued quietly, "Thank you, Wanda. For all of this. For everything."
She nodded, before laughing to distract from the tear that slipped from her eye. I felt bad, but there was nothing I could do. She was so concerned about my future without her and it pained me to see. We never talked about it – an unspoken agreement – because it was too difficult to accept.
"Come on," she said, changing the subject. "Let's go get that lunch we came here for."
—
I hadn't made up my mind about the publishing deal, but I was starting to veer towards a 'yes'.
A few days passed since Pietro made the offer and I hadn't told anybody of it. Only Wanda knew and she hadn't brought it up since, clearly not wanting to pressure me into a decision which I appreciated. It made me realise that I really wanted this for myself. I deserved this for myself, even if I'd been taught otherwise.
It was those few days later when the Maximoffs came over for dinner and it was the first time I'd seen Pietro since he made me the offer. When he greeted me at the door, he smiled brightly.
"I assume you haven't made a decision," he noted.
"You assumed correctly," I said with amusement, though I could tell he really wanted to know.
"Very well," he said with a shrug. "I guess I'll just have to change your mind."
I quirked a brow, wondering what he meant by that, but he simply walked past me and into the living room. Wanda smiled at me next, squeezing my hand and greeting me with a hug.
"You okay?" she asked lowly, a hint of concern in her eyes.
"I'm good," I promised. "Are you?"
"Yes," she said with a small smile. Just like her brother, I could tell she wanted to know what I was thinking.
After our two families conversed in the living room for a while, dinner was served by our servants and we all took to the table to continue our chatter.
"So, Pietro," my father started, looking across the table to him. "How is business going at the publishing house?"
I should have known what he would do when he glanced at me with mischievous eyes.
"It's going great," he answered my father respectfully. "We've actually sought out a new author to add to the list of names we represent."
My eyes widened when I realised what he was doing.
"Oh, really?" my dad asked with surprise. "Who is he?"
Pietro looked in my direction and I forgot how to breathe. "It's actually your daughter, sir."
All eyes fell to me as I locked my gaze on the cutlery beside my plate.
"Y/N? You want to sign Y/N?" asked my dad for clarification.
"I do," he said with a grin, and my face was heating up the longer this conversation went on. "Wanda saw her work and thought I'd be interested. I am. I think she'd make a great fit at our publishing house. And if she has a manuscript to show us, then I'd love to publish it."
"You did this?" Y/B/N asked Wanda with raised brows, jealousy intertwined in his voice.
"Yes, I did," she answered, unaffected by his irritation. "She's really talented."
I risked glancing up, smiling at Wanda appreciatively. She nodded in response, the corner of her mouth lifting adorably, making my heart flutter.
"She really is," Pietro agreed, before looking to my dad who still seemed taken aback. "She probably got that from you. Writing seems to run in the family."
My dad looked at me across the table, his eyes softening. All of our conversations flashed to mind where he claimed he was discouraging me for my own benefit. But now, everything he'd thought wouldn't happen was. Would he still be against the idea?
"D'you really think she'd sell?" he finally spoke, looking to Pietro, and I couldn't contain the smile from my lips.
"Yeah, don't women struggle with their first book?" my brother asked, and when I examined his expression, I saw the distaste.
"I actually think she'd do really well...," Pietro began to explain, before going into a long rant about numbers and sales and past examples.
As he spoke, my brother got progressively more frustrated and I frowned, wondering why he couldn't be supportive like our parents were being. Did he want to be the only author in our family that bad? Or was he just afraid that I wouldn't help him with his own books anymore?
"Thank you for explaining all of that," my dad said once he was done. He smiled, impressed, looking to me. "I actually love the idea."
I felt lightweight when he said that. Things were actually starting to look up for me. My dad was actually supporting my passion and it was all I'd wanted to hear since I was a kid. Trying to hide my elation behind a smile, I took a sip of water.
"Maybe Pietro is just trying to sweeten Y/N up so he can propose," Y/B/N suddenly said, making me choke on my water.
Looking to him with disbelief, he had a friendly smile on his lips, but I saw right through it.
"Y/B/N," Wanda scolded beside him. "Don't joke about that."
"Yeah, I can assure you that's not the case," Pietro added with a chuckle, unfazed by my brother's bitterness.
"I know that," I said reassuringly, before glaring at my brother. "You don't need to dignify him with a response, Pietro."
Changing the subject, my mother spoke up with a laugh. "Well, I think this is delightful. Y/N has always loved to write and I used to think it wasn't an appropriate future for a young woman, but if you are saying it could be, then I'm fully supportive of the idea."
I smiled at her, unable to believe she'd actually said that. She was the last person I thought would approve.
"Pietro has a good eye with these things," Oleg pointed out. "If he thinks it'll be successful, it will be."
My parents began to talk about how writing was something I'd loved for a long time, but I wasn't really listening because I felt overwhelmed with happiness. Pietro caught my eye, winking playfully, and I hoped he knew how grateful I was at what he'd done. Under the table, Wanda's fingers laced through mine and I didn't let go. Giving her a sideways glance, I thanked her with my eyes. She smiled widely and I tried very hard not to kiss her.
"...it's not the conventional route, but Y/N deserves it," my dad said, and I perked up with realisation.
"Maybe Wanda could break the conventional, too," I said, wanting to repay the brunette beside me.
"What do you mean?" she asked with furrowed brows.
I gave her a smile of disbelief. "Wanda, your art. It's stunning. Everything you create could easily sell for hundreds of pounds."
Her lips parted with surprise as she struggled to find words.
"That's not a bad idea, you know," Iryna said with thought. "Especially if Y/N's signing goes to plan."
Oleg groaned playfully, looking to my father. "This is happening so quickly... our girls are growing up, Y/D/N."
My dad chuckled alongside him as I stroked the top of Wanda's hand with my thumb. She squeezed it gently and I smiled to myself.
"You'll make tons of money," I said with certainty. "Your work is incredible, Wanda."
"I'll make enough money to support the both of us," Y/B/N said, doing a terrible job at hiding his frustration.
I looked over Wanda and to him with a hard stare and fake smile. "It's not even about the money to be honest. Maybe it's just about Wanda doing something she loves."
He nodded in agreement, though his eyes glared daggers at me. "I agree. And I won't stop her. But there's no need to sell her work. She can still practice her craft as usual. Heck, I'll even get her a studio."
I quirked a brow challengingly. "And what if she wants to sell it?"
Y/B/N clenched his jaw behind a forced smile. I ignored the warning look Wanda gave me in my peripheral and didn't dare look away from my brother's gaze. This was a side to him that I definitely didn't like.
My mum suddenly laughed to clear the air, but it was nervous and concerned. "Ah, sibling rivalry. Such playful nonsense."
"I believe the dessert is coming out now," my dad added, stealing the Maximoffs' attention away from my brother and I. "We're having soufflé."
With a final glare to my brother, I returned to eating. Any chatter of Wanda and I's potential careers ceased and my parents attempted to make the rest of the meal worthwhile.
As much as I wanted to be excited at the possibility of accepting Pietro's deal, especially since I had my parents' support, I couldn't help but think about what just happened with my brother. What was his problem?
When the meal ended, we all had some tea in the living room before bringing the evening to a close. At the door, we said our goodbyes to the Maximoffs and I was sure to thank Pietro.
"You didn't have to do that back there," I said as we shook hands, "but thank you. I think I know my answer now."
"Anything for my sister's best friend," he said with his signature charming smile. "And I hope it's what I think it is. Though, I suppose you won't tell me now."
I chuckled, shaking my head. "Not now."
"Soon, I hope." He nodded conclusively. "Have a good evening, Y/N."
Wanda shoved him out the way before I could respond before pulling me in for a hug. Pietro didn't seem offended as he gave me a knowing look over her shoulder. I stared back inquisitively, but got distracted when Wanda broke the hug, finding my eyes.
"You okay after what happened?" she asked gently, eyes subtly gesturing to my brother who was bidding her parents a goodbye.
"I'm okay," I reassured her with a smile. "Thanks for tonight."
She returned my smile. "Thank you. I think my parents actually took me seriously for a change."
"It's the least I could do," I told her, fully aware of everything she'd done for me.
Her smile widened, eyes flickering to my lips conspicuously. I shoved her gently, knowing what she was thinking and reminding her that we were in front of both of our families right now. She rolled her eyes playfully before stepping back.
"Such a handful," I mumbled jokingly.
When they left, the first thing Y/B/N did was storm off to his study. My parents exchanged glances before looking to me.
"Be nice," my mum warned.
"We'll see," I muttered under my breath, looking in the direction he'd gone.
Oh, was he about to get a piece of my mind.

I have the moon
Warnings: Quick ish Smut, 18+
Info : It’s Ellie and readers first night at their new house, that used to be Joel’s.
A/n: srry if it’s terrible, i’ve been busy and just not in the mood to write if i’m being honest but yeahhh also I would love to have requests that obviously fit within the story line because I’m getting a bit dry :))
•
The boxes were full and ready to go. It took about a month to pack up and completely move into Joel’s farmhouse.
It was strange seeing your apartment empty. You had lived here on your own for so many years before Ellie came along. The furniture had changed over the years, and pretty much everything did due to Ellie moving in, having dogs, they suddenly die, having cats, and they suddenly died as well. But this time, it was finally empty, it looked like it did when you had first bought it. It looked like you kept it the same all these years.
You handed the key to your landlord, Britt, she was always fun and kept you company before Ellie, when you were depressed about your job, or anything really. It was hard seeing you go and you felt the same of course. She held you in the tightest hug and it felt like a stab in your heart. But you wanted this, so you weren’t really worried about how you’d feel in a few days.
Ellie waited for you in the car. When you got inside, you immediately noticed the constant smile on her face, she would try hiding it but you could tell, and god that made you feel so good.
It was a long month. From the wedding, to Joel dying, and now this, moving five hours from the city into a rural town where you two would be basically separated from everything, it was a lot. Now you were ready to get to your new home and nap it all off.
•
Jesse, Dina, Tommy, and Maria had all helped move us in throughout the week, and make things comfortable for us. Dina couldn’t get over the countryside and Jesse was irritated by her constantly whining to move closer to us as their baby, JJ, spilled his juice everywhere and made a mess. You were ready for them to leave. Reaching over to pull JJ away, from potentially making another huge mess, Dina calls you to the kitchen.
You were close to losing your temper but instead just ignored it, maybe Ellie will do something.
“Yea?”
“I love these counters, I have a friend if you guys ever need a renovator.” Dina told you as she took out something from the oven, your attention immediately going there.
“Yea I know, What’s that in the oven?”
“My special banana bread, so you can think of me when we leave.”
It was literally all you wanted right now.
“Thanks Dina. I’m going to miss you. And that baby of yours.”
•
As for Ellie, she had been fine, for the most part. She hadn’t completely opened up about how she was feeling but you knew it was passing by. Passing by as in, she was accepting that she’ll never talk to Joel again, not that she’s getting over it and forgetting about him- she’ll never forget him, it was her dad. There was a glow that sat beautifully on her face and it was the same glow she had when you two got married, when you two would be in each other’s presence. It seemed that was her way of telling you but not telling you either that she was content and you loved it.
Your head peaked out of the kitchen once again to look at Ellie, JJ and Jesse in the living room. Ellie had been playing with JJ and you couldn’t help but lose your train of thought. It was so cute when she did that.
•
Dina, Jesse, and JJ were finally leaving. You were going to miss your best friend as she wasn’t just down the street anymore, she was five hours away. Her baby was getting older, and soon it was time she would have to start paying full attention to him so the chances of regular communication were getting lower.
You couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken.
•
After everyone left, you devoured the banana bread with a large cup of milk, leaning over the counter, nitpicking everything in your head about this house.
You remembered Ellie had been setting up her art room, it was a nice size and way better than the balcony at the apartment. You cleaned yourself up and walked to the room.
The door was slightly open and the room had been quiet, only Ellie’s humming being heard.
You knocked on the door.
“Come in.” Ellie said softly and you walked in. Shutting the door behind you, trying to not disturb the peacefulness.
“It’s late, do you want to come to bed?” You asked as you watched her draw yet another portrait of Joel.
She yawned and put down her pencil. She didn’t answer your question and instead walked over to you and hugged your waist while kissing down your soft neck. She pulled away, “Let’s go.” She stretched her long arm out for you as she opened the door, leading you to your new bedroom.
The bedroom was large, with a walk in closet, a bathroom and a beautiful large window that wasn’t covered with curtains for the purpose of the countryside view.
The room was obviously empty only with a bed that had pastel yellow sheets Maria had bought. You sat down on the bed as Ellie followed. She sat and watched you take off your pants leaving you only in your underwear and a slightly large shirt, Ellie had done the same only her top half was completely bare.
•
It was the middle of the night in the new house, the first night you two had slept there. It had a creepy feel to it. It was quiet and dark, the only light coming from the large window you had been facing. From the window where you had been lying down, you got a nice view of the farm and the night sky, and also an occasional few cars that would pass by.
It was so hot that you had been fighting with the blankets all night, whether they should be on or off. Looking over at Ellie, she had seemed to be sleeping like a baby. You continue to look at the window while laying down, eyes wandering all over the place. The time was 2:00 a.m. It was going to be a long night.
Sweat begins forming on your back, causing you to pull your shirt off, now only in your undergarments.
“I’m going to go look for a fan. I think he had one in the attic.” Ellie just randomly blurs out causing you to look at her, startled.
“Please, baby it’s so hot.” You say as you lean over to the small chair beside the bed and grab the water bottle, desperately chugging it again. As you did that, Ellie leaves to look for a fan.
•
What had felt like forever, Ellie finally arrives with a fan. It was a decent size and was perfect. As Ellie plugs it in, you unclip your bra and let all of the cool air hit you before lying back in the bed, covering yourself with the blanket.
You hear Ellie rumbling into bed, a lot closer than before, wrapping her arm around your body, pulling you closer. It felt so nice to have her this close, as she really hadn’t been willing to for a few months. Also with the heat, you’d just hate being that close.
Ellie takes her warm and soft lips, and presses it on your neck. Kissing you up and down, you closed your eyes hoping she wasn’t just giving you a goodnights kiss but wanted more.
You pull your blanket down from your face to show her your exposed breasts, ready to be caressed and sucked on (lmfao idk how else to say it).
She looks at you with a slight smile before kissing your temple. “Please..” You whisper, grabbing her head with both of your hands, she knew exactly what you wanted. You adjusted your position, lying on your back, waiting for Ellie to slip under the sheet.
Ellie and you hadn’t been together like this in a while, considering everything she’s been through and the missed honeymoon. You can see it on Ellie’s face, she felt so good at this moment. Her face was lit up and the light coming from the night sky reflected on her face.
Ellie kissing down your neck, you move your hand over to caress her soft, slightly greasy hair. Pressing a kiss to her forehead, you whisper, “I love you.” She breaks the kiss, whispering the same back to you before continuing to kiss, getting lower with each one.
At this point, you both knew exactly where this was going, it was one of Ellie’s favorite ways to make you smile. You spread your legs a bit further, allowing Ellie to have some space. You desperately throw the blanket off of the both of you to be able to see her. Her strong hands hold down both of your legs, her eyes lock with yours as she begins licking you right where you wanted her to. Your eyes begin to look drowsy as Ellie begins to pick up the pace. As you moan loudly, you notice Ellie smiling at you making your sounds every once and a while. Seeing her do that made you want more, you loved seeing her that way. You throw your head back into the fluffy, white pillow, grabbing onto anything that was in your region as Ellie relentlessly pleased you with her wet, warm tongue.
you were a mess and by the time you were able to let it all out over Ellie’s sweaty face, you were covered in your own sweat, sitting up on elbows, looking at Ellie get up and move towards you.
Ellie grabbed the blanket nearby and covered you and herself up. You immediately wrap your body around hers, pressing light kisses to her face.
“I forgot how much I love doing that.” Ellie says as you slowly begin to open your eyes.
You propped your head up on your elbow, leaning into Ellie more, caressing your hard, short nails up and down her back. “It looked like you really needed that.”
“Yeah, I think us moving into this house, and getting to do that, makes me feel better.” Ellie struggled to say but it was genuine and you knew she’d be back on her feet again in about another week.
You didn’t know what to say, Ellie’s smile forming on her face effortlessly put you in awe and it left you there once again, staring at her because sometimes that’s all you could do. She appreciated it either way.

Chapter 23
You inhaled sharply as you sat up in the hospital bed. Spencer looked at you, concerned.
“The doctor gave you the option to stay here for one more night. Are you sure you want to be discharged today?” Spencer asked.
“I need to go home. It’s so boring here. I’ll heal quicker at home, I promise,” you whined.
“Scientifically, that’s not possible but fine. Don’t think for a second that I’m going against the doctor’s orders though. Bed rest for a week,” Spencer brushed the stray hairs off your face and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“You’re no fun,” you pouted as he helped you into the wheelchair.
“I think Jo and Penelope have a little surprise for you waiting at home that will cheer you up,” Spencer smiled.
-
Spencer insisted on carrying you bridal-style through the front door because you couldn’t walk up the steps.
“We’re not officially married yet,” you teased.
“Oh hush, I’d keep you in my arms forever if I could,” he pulled you closer to his chest.
You snuggled into his cardigan that smelled like an old bookstore, “I guess I wouldn’t mind that either.”
Spencer slowly put you down and opened the door to your bedroom. Technically, it was you and Spencer’s shared bedroom now because he hardly ever used his bedroom now other than as storage for his things. Most of his clothes had already migrated to your closet and one of your bedside tables now had piles of books, a journal with chicken scratch, and his reading glasses atop it.
Inside, you saw Jo and Penelope holding heart balloons that said “Get Well Soon!” and a big teddy bear.
“Awww, thank you, my lovelies,” you smiled.
“I brought the mini fridge from my office so you are fully stocked with waters, juice, ice cream, fruit, whatever your little heart desires,” Penelope chirped.
“Thank you, Pen. You didn’t have to do that. I feel bad now. Where are you going to put your lunch?”
“Nonsense, my dear! There’s a fridge in the break room I can use. Don’t worry about me,” she assured you.
“And I made you drawings, Mommy,” Jo gestured to the walls of the room covered in colorful crayon sketches of animals, dinosaurs, trees, and people.
“Oh my god, these are so gorgeous, Jo! They are definitely going to help me get better, thank you.”
Jo hopped up on the bed to give you a hug.
“You’re welcome, Mommy,” she said as you planted a kiss on her head.
“Alright, I’m going to head out. Let me know if there’s anything I or anyone else at the BAU can do, literally anything, you just name it,” Penelope stated.
“Bye, Pen. Thank you so much,” you waved.
“Do you want soup? Spring rolls? Tea? What can I do for you, love?” Spencer eagerly asked.
“Could you please see if we have the ingredients for a cake for a special little 7 year-old?” you grinned.
“One cake, coming right up,” Spencer nodded, “Jo, do you want to help or stay with Mommy?”
“Stay with Mommy,” Jo grabbed the TV remote and curled into your side.
“Can you handle it?” you asked hesitantly, knowing baking wasn’t really Spencer’s forte.
“I will try my best,” he smiled, “And if not, I will go to the store.”
-
An hour later, Spencer opened the bedroom door, holding a chocolate cake with purple candles. He looked absolutely adorable, he was wearing your sunflower apron and he had flour residue on his nose.
“As promised,” he smiled, setting the cake down.
Jo was practically drooling as the cake was set in front of her.
“Hold on, I need to get plates and forks!” Spencer rushed out of the room and down the stairs.
“You better hurry. Jo looks like she is ready to just start eating it with her hands,” you laughed.
-
A week later, you woke up super early and jumped out of bed, dancing around a little in Spencer’s sweater, your PJ shorts, and fuzzy socks.
“Bed rest is over!” you cheered quietly to yourself, going downstairs to make banana bread.
Spencer came down fifteen minutes later as you were dancing around the kitchen to your music and whisking the batter.
“Bed rest is over,” you beamed as he came up behind you, tucking his chin into your neck and squeezing you softly, leaving a kiss as he pulled away.
“I love you,” he grinned.
“And I love you too...Spence, I was thinking…” you turned to face him after you put the pan in the oven.
“About what?” he asked, leaning against the kitchen counter with his mug of coffee.
“I don’t want to wait any longer. Can we please get married already?” you asked.
“Like now now?” he smiled softly.
“Like as soon as we can but still having a small ceremony so our friends and family don’t kill us for eloping,” you placed your hands on his chest.
“JJ and Will had their wedding in Rossi’s backyard,” Spencer suggested.
“Penelope did say if we needed anything, just ask,” you grinned.
Spencer already had his phone out of his pocket before you could say anything else. He dialed Rossi and put it on speaker.
“Reid, to what do I owe this pleasure on a lovely Tuesday morning,” Rossi spoke through the phone.
“Hey, Rossi. Y/N and I kind of have a big favor to ask,” Spencer began.
“Name it.”
-
Everything was a whirlwind after that. You decided Saturday evening would be best for the wedding so you and Spencer had exactly five days to coordinate your wedding.
Luckily, the team took care of most of the planning like the caterer and the set-up of Rossi’s backyard but you and Spencer’s opinions were still needed for everything from which flowers you wanted in your bouquet to what flavor of cake.
You and Spencer sat in bed one night criss-cross across from each other and you each had a little journal and pen in your hand. You both wrote your vows over the next hour. Spencer would occasionally look up at you, stare for a minute, silently smiling, and then continue jotting something down.
Spencer pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose and leaned over your journal.
“No peeking!” you rolled on your back, flailing your legs so he couldn’t get to your journal.
“Ugh fine, I surrender,” he laughed, grabbing on to your legs to stop your movements, “I guess I can wait 3 more days.”
He leaned down to kiss you.
“3 more days,” you repeated with a dreamy smile.
-
You and Jo met the BAU ladies at a boutique to get dresses for everyone. You had decided on a dusty blue for the bridesmaid dress color but you let them choose which style they wanted so everyone was matching but still got to decide which dress they liked best.
Jo was essentially given free rein in the children’s section of the store and chose a pale pink dress with a bow on the back that would serve as her flower girl dress.
After all that was settled, everyone gathered on the couch near the fitting room to watch you try on dresses, you had been saying from the start that you just wanted something simple. All the options in the store were overwhelming to you but the girls insisted you at least try on a little of everything to get a feel for it.
You came out in a huge poofy wedding dress courtesy of Penelope.
Jo burst out in giggles, “Mommy looks like a cupcake.”
“I think anything overly poofy is ruled out. I want to be able to pee without the help of 3 bridesmaids,” you walked back into the fitting room.
Next was a gown with lots of detailed beading and lace and a long train.
“I think it’s too much,” you sighed, “Plus, I don’t want to trip on this train while walking down the aisle,” you returned to the stall.
You walked out of the dressing room once more and everyone gasped.
“Oh my god,” Penelope was fanning her face to dry the fast-forming tears.
“Y/N, I don’t want to speak for you but I think this is the one,” JJ smiled.
The dress you were wearing was a white satin gown. It was a maxi dress with spaghetti straps and it hugged your hips but was loose around your legs so it was still comfortable.
“It’s perfect,” you smiled softly, looking in the mirror.
Jo hopped off of Emily’s lap and joined you on the little stage, still in her flower girl dress, doing a little twirl. You started to cry from all the happiness and pent-up excitement you were feeling.
-
“Hey, how’d it go?” Spencer asked when you got home.
You rounded the corner to the couch where he was laying.
“That good?” he asked.
“What?” you furrowed your brow, looking at him in confusion because you hadn’t said anything yet.
“You have remnants of mascara on your cheeks indicating that you were crying and that means you must have found the perfect dress because Jo is over there grinning like a fool,” Spencer smiled.
“You know you’re a retired profiler, right?” you teased.
“Mommy looked so pretty, Daddy! You wouldn’t even believe it!” Jo exclaimed.
“Oh, I believe it, Princess,” Spencer lifted Jo up on to his lap, “I know it’s against the rules for me to see Mommy’s dress but can you do a fashion show for me with yours?”
Jo nodded enthusiastically, running up to her room with the bag in her hand.
“Ready!” she called out a few minutes later.
“Now introducing your royal highness, Princess Josephine Y/L/N-Reid,” Spencer announced as Jo walked down the stairs, doing a fancy royal wave.

oh to be seths imprint and attend a wedding and realize how in love we are and dance and have fun and fall in love with life and with each other and sneak away from the wedding and drink champagne and slow dance under the moon at night and look at the sky. I would literally die a happy woman :,(
SETH CLEARWATER THE REST OF OUR LIVES
word count: 1767
summary: when her duties as maid of honor become a little overwhelming, seth takes his girlfriend to a special place to take a break away from her family
warnings: you might experience extreme loneliness because I sure am
note: i already posted about it, but this is such a cute request. this is probably one of the cutest requests i’ve ever gotten. i still want to apologize for taking so long to finish this, because I just wasn’t sure how to approach this. i hope you still enjoy this, anon!
(Y/N) sighed softly, a pained expression replacing the fake smile which had occupied her face the whole day as she finally sat down at her assigned table. She put her hands against her back, softly straightening it to relieve herself from the twisting pain she had from walking around on heels the last few hours. “Should’ve worn flats.” She murmured to herself.
The family members and friends of the bride and groom were surrounding the dance floor of the wedding venue, where they were having their first dance of the night. It was the perfect moment to sneak away, because it was the first moment since the beginning of that stressful wedding day she didn’t have to do anything, but watch her sister and her now husband be happy.
Even with hurting feet, (Y/N) smiled satisfied as she caught a glimpse of the dancing pair between the figures surrounding them. The soft creme glow of the low hanging lights was reflecting beautifully on her sister’s diamond encrusted dress, just like she had dreamed of. As the maid of honor, (Y/N) made sure she could bring heaven on earth for her sister so she could have her perfect day and seeing her smile, which even gave her butterflies in her stomach, she knew she succeeded. Nothing could ruin her sister’s day.
(Y/N) noticed her almost empty glass of champagne she had left at the edge of the table over three hours ago, showing her how long it had exactly been since she gave her body a rest. It didn’t even look like it had bubbles anymore. She almost wanted to chug the last bit down her throat, too lazy to get herself a new drink. She also wasn’t in the mood to talk to the flirting bartender either. She was slowly going to let her tongue dry out if she had to.
As she finally found a comfortable position to sit in, a pair of familiar hands suddenly found their way to her shoulders, rubbing their thumbs between her shoulder blades. “Hey, pretty lady.” Her boyfriend whispered into her ear, shivers going down her spine as his warm breath gently brushed along her neck.
“Hey, baby.” Her lips curled up into a soft, relieved smile when she finally felt the one person she was waiting to spend her time with all day. Just like her, he was helping to make sure everything was perfect by being dragged along by her mother. Here and there, she would see him carry things behind the bar or make sure all the equipment was in the right place, secretly craving to be by his side and enjoy this beautiful moment with him. “I missed you today.”
Although he probably saw her sit down, she felt like Seth didn’t only know when, but also how she needed him. On days she was emotionally drained and just avoided social interaction, he was the only person she could stand being around. He didn’t expect anything from her and just lied silently next to her, rubbing figures into her belly while they cuddled.
“I would’ve loved to stay with you, but your mom wasn’t letting me out of her sight.” Seth chuckled, letting go of his girlfriend and sitting down on the chair next to her. “She even asked me to dance with her later.”
(Y/N) cringed, aware of how overbearing her mom could be at times. “I told her to tone it down. I’ll talk--”
“No, don’t. It’s fine.” Seth laughed, shaking his head. “Let’s just be civil for today, your sister deserves one day without an outburst from her. And it means she likes me, which is a good thing.”
Rolling her eyes at his statement knowing he was right, she quickly nodded in agreement. The last thing they needed was her mom to ruin the last few hours when everything went great so far.
“But now we’ve both got a few minutes to spare, can I show you something?” Seth held his hand out to his girlfriend which she hesitantly accepted.
With a raised eyebrow, she tilted her head. “Where are you taking me?”
Instead of telling her, he smiled from ear to ear as he promised her they would be back in time before anyone needed either of them again. Without trying to draw any attention by leaving through a random side door of the venue, (Y/N) looked over her shoulder one last time before they managed to slip away unnoticed. Holding onto her boyfriend’s arm she was able to ignore the pain in the heels of her feet, feeling a slight rush of adrenaline flow through her veins.
It suddenly felt like they were teenagers again. It brought back a memory of when Seth convinced her to jump out of her window, promising her he would get her back into bed before anyone noticed. Thinking back she asked herself why that was her biggest concern when she was going to risk her limbs by trusting a guy to catch her as she jumped from the second floor. But she did it without a second thought and before she knew two strong arms stopped her from, what could’ve been, a nasty fall and she never doubted him again.
“Wow.” Was the first thing escaping (Y/N)’s mouth when they ended up at a dock stretched out over a body of water. The full moon shone brightly, hitting the silent streams just right. It looked like tiny diamonds were appearing and disappearing at a rapid pace. She had seen a lot in her years, but she couldn’t have imagined something so simple would take her breath away.
“I know, right?” Seth agreed calmly, having seen it before as he observed his girlfriend walk to the edge of the dock to get closer to take in the magnificent view. “I found it when I was helping out outside earlier.”
“It’s beautiful.” She whispered, briefly looking back at him as his arms wrapped around her waist. He rested his chin on top of her shoulder, taking the view in with her as she intertwined her fingers with his on her belly.
Even before they started the day he knew there would be a point her family would start to drive her insane, her mom’s complaining, her sister’s requests, her aunts’ bickering about things not being to their liking. He didn’t know how she kept it together so well, but he could see it was tiring her out. She needed a break and that was exactly what he was trying to give her. He was convinced her family could survive five minutes without her.
But even with that short lived break, he already could tell she wasn’t going to pick up her phone for at least a week once they got home. He already heard himself ask her ‘what’s the excuse this time’ as they came up with something on the spot for when he picked up the phone for her. He didn’t mind though, he would do anything for her. And she knew that.
As far away as they were, the faded music of her sister’s wedding could be heard. The new melody of the upcoming song caught Seth’s attention and made him pull away from his girlfriend. Left unprepared for the cool summer breeze brushing along her exposed skin, (Y/N) looked back at him to see what he was doing.
Once again he held his hand out towards her, a soft smile plastered across his face. “Dance with me?”
Her gaze softened as that same pained smile from before appeared on her face. “I would love to, but my feet feel like they’re going to fall off.”
Seth rolled his eyes playfully and tilted his head, signaling her to come to him. “C’mere.”
As much as (Y/N) wanted to reject his offer, she couldn’t say no to those eyes. She did as she was told, approaching her boyfriend who grabbed her hands and gently pressed his smiling lips against her knuckles - earning a giggle from her - before he placed her cold hands around his neck. He pulled her closer to him, their chests touching as he did.
“Stand on my shoes.” He grinned.
“Okay.” She breathed, finally understanding his plan as she used the balls of your feet to stand on top of his feet. They laughed in unison when it appeared she was even taller than on her heels alone, bringing her face closer to his.
“Hi.”
“Hey.” Seth smiled back, lowering his hands down to her lower back.
Even with his girlfriend standing on top of him he managed to gently sway them to the melody of the music playing in the distance. (Y/N) leaned into his touch, placing her head against his shoulder while she felt Seth’s head resting against hers. Her eyes fluttered closed to take in his warmth and scent of his cologne. She would truly stay in his arms forever if she could.
“Did I already tell you how beautiful you look today?” Seth broke the comfortable silence between them, his voice much lower than before.
Blood rushed to (Y/N)’s cheeks, the butterflies in her stomach reminding her of their first date. How he managed to make her feel like that every time he was a little too close was still a mystery, but she would never get enough of the feeling.
“You haven’t actually.” She answered, grinning as her head still rested against his shoulder.
“You, (Y/N) (Y/L/N). . .” His movements were starting to slow down, one of his hands pulling away from her lower back to grab her by the chin. He pushed her face up to meet his gaze and he leaned in slightly leaving a slim space between them. A shaky breath hit his face as he left his girlfriend completely flustered by his actions. “are absolutely gorgeous.”
Closing the gap between them, Seth gently pressed his lips against hers as both of their eyes closed shut. He did not care about her lipstick rubbing off on him. He was hers after all and he wasn’t afraid to show others that. (Y/N) moved her hand up the back of his head, intertwining her fingers with his long dark locks and pushed him closer to deepen their kiss.
This wasn’t that kind of love you would have to lose before you realized you had it, it was the kind you felt and realized in the moment. And standing there on that dock with the moon shining down at them, was the moment they realized they would have this love the rest of their lives.

Remember Us - 10
Hi all,
are you all ready for the finale of Remember Us?
It’s fluffy and our two lovebirds have the HEA they deserve.
Writing this fic has been painful but i have grown really attached to it and after ALB and Island Dreams is my favourite story.
Thanks every one who had followed this. We did it. We survived the angst.
------
Two months later.
Aelin was at home, camped in bed. Yrene had placed her on bed rest and both Rowan and her mother had been pretty strict. She hadn’t been feeling at her best and Yrene had told her that what she was experiencing were signs of early labour but it was not time yet to go to the hospital.
Evalin had gone out with the kids and Rowan was out grocery shopping. She got off the bed and went to the bathroom and decided to draw a bath. She filled the tub with water, salts and created a lot of bubbles, then she added some classical music in the background and added some candles as a final touch. Once done she shed her clothes and climbed in the tub and lay down, relaxing her muscles and her back.
*
Rowan came back an hour later with groceries. The bus had skipped a course and he was fuming. He still hadn’t found the courage to go back driving and Aelin explained that after the accident it was very likely his subconscious preventing him to do so. He did not complain. He was happy taking public transport when it showed up. He would have taken the subway but the nearest stop was a bit away and with bags it was too much of a pain, so he used the bus that stopped just near their house.
“Aelin, I am home.” He called, once back in the house. No answer.
“Aelin?” When he still not had an answer he panicked, what if something happened to her? Rowan dumped the bags in the kitchen and started looking in every room for his wife until he reached their bathroom and laughed at the scene. She was in the bathtub, eyes closed and a peaceful expression. Silently, he moved behind her and then his hands shifted from her shoulder down to her breasts and Aelin moaned “oh yes…”
Her eyes finally opened and lifted her face for a kiss that he did not deny her.
“Get rid of those clothes and join me. Mum will be out for a while.”
He kissed her head “let me put away the frozen stuff.”
He came back five minutes later, shed his clothes and Aelin moved forward and Rowan climbed in behind her, letting Aelin lie down against his chest.
“I thought you were offering your very pregnant wife a sexy massage.”
“We shouldn’t.”
Aelin huffed “Ro, I am just asking for a massage not for you to fuck me in the bathtub.”
He chuckled. On some occasions Aelin had been the one begging for sex but he had always stopped her with the excuse that he was being considerate of her health. When Yrene told them that sex was off the table for health reason Rowan had almost preened at the victory.
He squeezed some oils on his hands and started massaging Aelin, starting from her neck, kneading the sore spots, then her shoulders and slowly lingered on her breasts listening to her satisfied sounds.
His hand the moved down to her bump caressing the expanse of her extended stomach and chuckling at every kick from Maya “she seems to like it.”
“Just like her mum.”
**
A couple of days later they had taken the kids to the science museum. Aelin was tired of being stuck at home so she had convinced Rowan to take her and the kids out.
They were watching Thomas have fun in the space section while Freyja played with some space toys when Aelin felt wet trickle down her legs.
Shit.
“Ro?”
“Hm?” He said while watching the kids.
“My water just broke.”
His head whipped to her, panic clear on his face “what do you mean?”
“I mean that my effing waters just broke and that our daughter has chosen a very inconvenient moment to come to the world.”
“Fuck.” Said Rowan, forgetting that they were surrounded by kids. He took out the phone and called for an ambulance. Aelin tried to minimise that they could easily reach the hospital by bus but Rowan ignored her.
He quickly grabbed the kids, told a museum attendant about the puddle in the space section and then walked out with the three of them waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
By the time they got to the hospital the contractions had becomes closer and much longer and the paramedic told her that she was progressing pretty quickly. In the ambulance Thomas had been worried about his mum screaming and Rowan had tried to tell him that their sister was coming. Freyja had wanted to snuggle to her mum but in the ambulance it hadn’t been possible so she had started crying.
Evalin met them half an hour later at the hospital and she had taken charge of their distressed kids and tried to explain that their mum was okay.
Maya arrived two hours later, Aelin’s labour had been quick but no less painful. She was now sleeping in her bed while he had their newborn daughter in his arms and was pacing the room singing a tune to her.
In that moment Evalin took the kids to the room “Someone is here to meet their sister.”
Rowan kneeled so that they could see her. Maya had a thin layer of hair that was light and could have been a mix of silver and blonde, and her eyes had been Aelin’s. Blue with a ring of gold.
“Tom, Freyja, say hi to your sister Maya.”
“She is tiny.” Said Thomas touching her hand.
“You both were this small once.”
Freyja grabbed her pacifier from her mouth and gave it to her sister. Evalin laughed and took it back “no darling, it’s too big for her.” Freyja looked at her grandma and placed the pacifier back in her mouth “Ma’” she added pointing at the baby.
“Yes, she is Maya and she is your sister.” Rowan smiled as his daughter walked to him and with her short arms tried to hug them both “Ma’” she said again.
Thomas eventually moved to hug both of his sisters and Aelin woke up in that instant. She watched the scene in silence afraid she would ruin the magical moment.
She looked at Rowan surrounded by his children and almost burst into tears. They had almost lost all of that. That moment would become her most precious memory. She should have taken a photo, but no image or words would ever fully capture the emotions seeing her family happy, celebrating the new life they had brought into the world. They had literally gone to hell and back and their union survived nonetheless. He had slowly made his way back into her life with the same level of love he had done it the first time. He was her soulmate.
As if he heard her thought, Rowan turned his head, his green eyes on her and the most stunning smile on his lips.
She let the sobs come and Rowan stood, always with Maya in his arms “are you okay?”
Aelin nodded and cleared her tears “I am so happy… and so, so tired.”
Rowan sat at her side, Thomas climbed on the bed and Evalin helped Freyja. Both kids snuggled against their mother and Rowan leaned closer too.
Evalin slowly left them and closed the door, allowing the family to have a moment alone.
“She looks so tiny in your arms.”
“She is perfect.”
Aelin scoffed “she is our daughter, of course she is perfect.”
The sound of Rowan laughter was music to her ears. After months of pain this was all she needed. Her family.
***
Three months later.
“She is just adorable. Your three kids are going to break so many hearts when they grow up.” The comment came from Lysandra who was sitting on the bed. It was her wedding day and both Elide and Lysandra were going to help her.
But right when she had been about to wear her dress Maya had woken up screaming bloody murder and Aelin was now sitting on the rocking chair Rowan had bought and was nursing her daughter.
“I do not miss my boobs being mistreated like that.” Said Lysandra.
Elide at her side sighed “me neither but I guess I can’t avoid it.”
A moment later both Aelin and Lysandra were screaming “Elide Lochan, are you pregnant again?”
The woman nodded “yeah. Allison is one and Lorcan and I don’t want to have too much age gap between kids. I am eight weeks along.”
Aelin grinned “now we need to convince Lys to go for the third one.”
“Eventually. Ae is in the middle of changing job so right now might be a problem but we will.”
Evalin joined them a moment later and when she saw that Maya had finished eating she had offered to burp her granddaughter and let Aelin get dressed.
Her dress was midnight blue and long. Lysandra had done her hair adorned with flowers and tied in a gorgeous style that lifted over her head. Elide had put a very gentle layer of makeup and Aelin was now staring at her image in the mirror. She still carried a bit of pregnancy weight and had almost regretted the choice of dress but Lys had told her that Rowan was very likely to still find her hot.
Aelin scoffed, although not once while in bed he had ever commented at the marks left by their first two kids. He had always worshipped her body like he used to when she was younger and fitter.
“Come on… let’s not keep him waiting too long.”
The wedding was going to happen in the back garden of their house. The ceremony was going to be private as only a handful of people had been invited. On top of Lys with Aedion and the kids and Elide and Lorcan, they had invited Chaol and Yrene and their two kids and then Dorian and a heavily pregnant Manon and of course Evalin. Neither of them wanted to make a big fuss of the event. This was their moment, only to be shared with those who really mattered. Aedion met Aelin at the top of the stairs and was ready to walk her to the altar where Dorian was ready to marry her and Rowan once more.
“You are stunning. That husband of yours is going to have a heart attack.”
“Wait till you see Lys.”
Slowly they started walking and they reached the garden and Aedion gave her a coat. The night before had snowed and the place was a winter wonderland. She looked ahead and saw Rowan. He was wearing a black suit with a tie as green as his eyes. Gods he was stunning. She spotted her friend sitting down and Evalin holding Freyja in her arms, Maya in her pram, while Thomas sat diligently on his chair. They had imparted him with the need to stay sit and quiet until the wedding was over.
She looked at Rowan once more and did not miss the light in his eyes.
Rowan stared at Aelin walking towards him at Aedion’s arm. She took his breath away. It did not matter that she complained that she was not anymore the young sexy woman he met at uni. She still had the power to make his knees go jelly and leave him breathless. She was the most stunning woman he had ever met and felt like the luckiest man alive for the privilege of calling her his wife.
She stopped in front of him and Aedion kissed her cheek then moved away to join Lysandra.
Dorian moved at their side ready to officiate the wedding.
“Friends, family, little people,” all the kids giggled at the comment “thank you for joining us on this happy day to bear witness to Aelin and Rowan renew the wedding vows they exchanged many years ago.” He began “I saw these two fight, slowly fall in love and become the cheesy couple we all know.” More laughter from their friends “they have been through a lot but they also were probably the only couple who could have faced the challenges fate threw at them and come out of it more in love than ever. It makes me happy to be here today to forge their union once again and showing us that through love, all is possible.”
Rowan and Aelin stared in each other’s eyes and he gently took her hand feeling her shaking a bit in trepidation.
Aelin nodded to him as if to tell him that he could go first with his vows.
Rowan cleared his voice “Fireheart, if after the accident, someone had told me that a few month later I would be standing in front of you to renew our wedding vows I would have told them they were insane. But you believed in me, in our bond.” He paused “you never gave up on us. With time we found our way back, we found each other again and day by day I fell in love with my wife once again.” He heard some people sniff in the background “I love you. I love our family and I wish for the chance to grow old with you. You are my everything.” He leaned forward and kissed her.
Aelin smiled wickedly “Rowan, my buzzard I think by now we have a fair idea on how life can be unpredictable and cruel, but we fought through every challenge. The promises I made you at our first wedding are still true. You are my rock and as long as you are at my side I am not afraid. I love you, more than anything, more than life itself. To whatever end.”
“To whatever end.” He said back to her and she crashed against his chest and Rowan held her tight “I love you.” He told her again.
“I believe you have new rings to exchange.” Dorian interrupted that tearful moment and both pulled apart for the last part of the ceremony.
“I hope you ladies are wearing waterproof mascara because those were tearful vows. I almost teared up as well.”
Aelin had asked Dorian because even at their first wedding he had been fun had had given a nice twist to the ceremony. He had been delighted when they asked him once more.
He looked at Manon who was now sobbing no doubt because of the hormones.
“Look at Manon you both. You broke my usually unflappable wife with your cheesy love confessions.”
“Do you realise it’s just the hormones? She hasn’t become a softie all of a sudden?” Aelin whispered to Dorian and the man grinned back.
“And now the rings.” Aedion passed a ring each and they got ready.
“I, Rowan, take thee Fireheart once more to be my lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for better and for worse and promise to love you until death do us part.” His hand gently slid the ring next to her engagement one.
“I, Aelin take thee Rowan as my lawfully wedded buzzard once again. Through sickness, through health. Through bad times and happier ones. This is my promise to you, until death do us part.” She smiled at him and placed the ring on his finger once again.
“Well, my job here is done. Now parents, please cover your kid’s eyes as I expect some ritual smooching.” The guests burst out laughing.
Rowan grabbed Aelin at the waist and pulled her to him and kissed her deeply. When they broke apart, his forehead touched hers.
“I love you, buzzard.”
He stared in her blue eyes.
“I love you, fireheart.”
To whatever end.

Look at Me, Senpai - Hinata x Reader x Daichi
Summary: Reader starts to see Hinata in a different light once he returns from Brazil. It turns out Hinata’s inability to give up isn’t just something restricted to the court. (~3.6k words)
Warnings: fem!reader, nsfw, infidelity, a touch of the yandere
A/N: This got really long so I split it in half lmfao, expect part 2 in a couple of days.
Part 1|| Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5
---
Senpai, I like you.
As you continued to sit courtside, watching Karasuno’s team overtake the opposition led by your boyfriend Daichi Sawamura, your eyes briefly settled on Hinata, the orange-haired first year. When the ball finally sailed over to him, and he hit it with an inhuman speed, the middle blocker’s signature, you thought briefly about his frank and surprisingly serious confession earlier in the day. How bold! You hadn’t taken it seriously of course - your affection towards him was nothing short of motherly. Plus, he was well aware of how serious you were about Daichi.
What an odd joke, you thought, but you had played along with it despite the fact that you knew he meant what he said, dismissing him with a laugh and a pat on the head.
I like you too, Hinata! You’re very fun to be around!
His smile had only wavered slightly at your words but you could feel his eyes get just a little darker as the twang of rejection set in.
But he was just a baby and this was just puppy love. He’d get over it eventually, right? He’d eventually find someone his own age.
Suddenly across the court, you could feel Hinata’s gaze fall on you again, and he smiled again, but this time it was different. Maybe it was bleed over from the boundless confidence and determination he had whenever he stepped on the court, but something about the way his eyes flashed just for a moment as he looked at you made your face grow just a little bit warm.
[Years pass.]
“So when’s the wedding?!”
Your grandmother’s voice blared through the phone in raucous joy as you laughed and tried to field her many follow-up questions. She, like almost everyone else you had told, was incredibly excited about your proposal, and despite the fact that it was only three days later, the high was already starting to fade and you were getting tired of answering the same questions.
When’s the wedding? Where’s the wedding? How excited are you? Are you already pregnant? Are you going to move into a house?
Between your grandmother, your parents and siblings, your wonderful friends, your neighbors - honestly, literally everyone and their mother - you were feeling incredibly supported during this time. But still, somehow, something felt wrong, and you couldn’t exactly place why.
Once you had finally answered Grandma’s questions to her satisfaction, you hung up the phone and flopped backwards back into your bed with a sigh. Holding up one hand in front of you to display your engagement ring, you inspected the stone carefully, letting it glimmer in the slowly fading sunlight beaming in through your bedroom window.
“Mrs. Sawamura,” you tried out the name in a soft whisper. It had a nice sound to it, ____ Sawamura. This was what you had always wanted, ever since you had met and started dating in high school. You’d always wanted to support his dreams, whether it was excelling at schoolwork, volleyball, joining the police force… and what better way to do it by agreeing to be his wife and spending the rest of your life with him? So many years had passed with you by his side, this was only the next natural step.
So what exactly was this reticence inside of you? You knew he would be good to you, no matter what, even if you felt that something about your relationship had already started to lose its spark. He had been working longer days and later nights, leaving very little time for you, and with all this time left alone, sometimes you regretted not having spent more time in high school or even later on making friends outside of those people he knew. The problem was that the volleyball team was so warm from the start, and you were so invested in caring for them as Daichi was… maybe this was some form of delayed empty nest syndrome, solidifying as the members all grew up and grew apart.
You checked the time on the small wall clock before you. Daichi wouldn’t be home for another couple of hours, and again you couldn’t fault him for this. The ring on your finger looked quite expensive, so he’d clearly worked hard to afford it.
Maybe you would draw.
Minutes passed, maybe even an hour, and as the sun finally set, you set down your pencil and reached over to your window to close the curtains so that the neighbors couldn’t peer into your home once you turned on the lights. Clicking on the bedside lamp, you settled back into a cross-legged position before your large sketchbook again, now taking a second look at your drawing.
An ordinary but hyper realistic-looking crow now peered back at you, almost as if it were wondering why you had decided on putting it to paper out of all the things that could have come to mind. You looked at it carefully and remembered a single fact about crows:
Crows never forget a face.
---
The next morning was Sunday and Daichi was fortunately off work for the day so you sat with your new fiancé at the kitchen table, listening to him talk excitedly about the week as the two of you shared a large omelette and munched on toasted bread.
“Honestly, you wouldn’t believe some of the stuff I see, babe, it’s really something.”
His laugh was always hearty and you couldn’t deny the sparkle in his brown eyes as he shared work shenanigans with you, so while you were uncomfortable with the idea of him being in harm’s way so often as a police officer, you couldn’t help but smile with him whenever he did. His happiness was infectious, especially when he held your hand tightly and squeezed it just like this very moment, interlocking his fingers with yours as he ate with his other hand.
Once he finished eating, he leaned over to kiss you on the forehead, threading his fingers through your hair.
“Thanks for breakfast, baby,” he whispered, his voice smooth and lowered an octave. With his gaze, he drank up the image of you only in his oversized t-shirt and panties before pulling you towards him so that you straddled his hips as he sat on the chair. With you pressed close to him like this, between his hardening cock and the edge of the table, you could feel your breath hitch ever so slightly in your throat. Years had passed and you were still like this - you were still the shy, bashful girl who dared to date the captain of the volleyball team.
“Daichi…,” you trailed off, as he started to litter soft kisses on your collarbones.
“Do you want to uh…,” he paused and pulled back, a smile spreading across his features, as one of his hands found its way up your shirt to palm your breast, “... start off our morning right?”
He didn’t bother waiting for your reply before his lips met yours for dessert.
---
Parted thighs and many soft sighs later, the two of you lay side by side in pleasant exhaustion. You stared at the ceiling, your cheeks flushed as you pulled air into your overworked lungs. Daichi’s head found its way to rest in the softness of your abdomen and you languidly caressed his hair, your body still buzzing from lovemaking.
Daichi was clearly apologizing for passing out the moment he came home, you knew, and you appreciated his thoughtfulness. As you continued to softly scratch his scalp, the soft glow of the late morning sun warmed the two of you up even further and you knew that this feeling had to be what ballads were all about.
Love.
You loved Daichi. Right?
His fingers traced up and down your thighs, just barely avoiding the dampness of him releasing inside you just moments earlier slowly leaking from your center.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered, as his fingers traveled your skin. He always told you this, reminded you were the most wonderful girl in the world.
And he was the most wonderful man on Earth. How incredible it was that you had found each other, you thought, as you lay together for what felt like hours and found yourself dozing off in each other’s embrace.
Yes, this was enough.
---
“You don’t have to go all out babe, it’s just the guys!” Daichi’s loud voice carried from outside the bathroom as you perfected your mascara. You ignored him with a playful roll of the eye even though you couldn’t see him, focusing on perfecting a winged eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man. It had been a while since you had dressed up, and it didn’t hurt to really go all out. This was a sort of mini-reunion anyway and what better way to make your fiancé proud than to make all his friends jealous?
“I thought you said I was pretty this morning,” you called out, as you dabbed perfume behind your ears and at the center of your chest. “Don’t you want everyone else to know?”
With that you posed dramatically at the end of the hallway, cat-walking with a face so straight it was ridiculous until you reached Daichi who stood at the front of your door, holding in a laugh. You burst into laughter once you reached him, falling into his chest.
“Let’s go see your old team!” You said, quickly pushing him away playfully when his eager hands settled too comfortably on your ass. He nodded, deciding to grab your hand instead as your cab approached.
Your car ride was short and your mind started to wander as you idly rubbed the knuckles of Daichi’s hand with your thumb. You remembered him telling you vaguely about one of his teammates returning to Japan, prompting the reunion, the orange-haired one named Hinata who you recalled was nothing short of a ball of sunshine and had confessed to you once.
Senpai, I like you.
Well, he would probably have gotten over that crush by now. It had been years.
The restaurant was loud when you entered, following Daichi closely. A table full of young men almost erupted in praise once the two of you approached.
“Captain!”
Tanaka, who you recognized easily from his shaved head and brash attitude came sailing over to essentially crush Daichi in a headlock, but before he could reach him, the orange-haired boy who had just graced your thoughts a couple of minutes earlier beat him to it, slapping him heartily on the back.
“You finally made it! Did you miss me?” Hinata said, with a grin and for a split second, you thought you saw his eyes flit to you. Without warning, your mind started to race, realizing that immediately your face had started to warm as you watched your goofy little underclassman with a crush talk and tease your fiancé animatedly-
And to your dismay, you realized you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.
---
You couldn’t pinpoint exactly what had you unsettled throughout the lively dinner - was it the fact that even though you sat by Kiyoko, the previous team manager, she seemed to be more focused on eating quietly, a smile on her face as she basked in the glory days with the boys? Or was it the fact that you could see Hinata’s rare but noticeable furtive glances towards you, the ones that Daichi seemed to miss now that he was more than a little drunk judging by how red he was in the face? Maybe it was the fact that you were trying to understand what was this sudden gravitational pull you felt towards Hinata at first glance, something that made very little sense to you and seemed oh-so-very-wrong.
Was it the fact that while he was still shorter than average for a volleyball player, his time in Brazil had tanned his skin nicely, bringing out the well toned muscles in his shoulders or arms? Or that while his eyes were still bright and kind, the angles in his face had grown sharper and his smile had made the very slight shift from determined to confident and almost even cocky?
What the hell was it that had you suddenly so distracted?
You fiddled with the ring on your finger above the table between bites of grilled meat and poured sake, trying desperately to make small talk with Kiyoko, only to be disappointed by how unsuccessful you were in engaging yourself in meaningful conversation.
Eventually you decided to get up for some fresh air, giving Daichi a little nudge on the back to let him know you were stepping out and took a seat in a small chair set outside the chilly restaurant meant for smokers. It was nice to have a little more quiet, and you briefly pondered if Daichi would be okay with you going home first.
Something was terribly, terribly wrong, and it was about to get way worse since it turned out that Hinata had followed you out.
“Heya!” Hinata’s voice startled you as he approached, quickly taking a seat beside you. Your face flushing for the second time today (you blamed it on the alcohol, of course), you eked out a hello, mentally shaming yourself for being so awkward.
“You were quiet in there...”
“A-ah, yes! It’s just I haven’t really seen any of you guys in a while and we weren’t close, so it was a bit hard to follow the conversations…,” you trailed off, not making eye contact. You decided that a good way to politely add distance would be to re-introduce yourself even though you knew exactly who he was now, and you knew he remembered you.
You stuck your hand out to greet him formally with a handshake.
“I don’t know if you still remember me but I’m ____ -”
“I know,” Hinata interrupted curtly, without looking directly at you and your hand fell to your side slowly and returned to your lap. He stared out at the street with his face unsmiling, a look that appeared almost unnatural for someone like him and then turned back to you to give you a wide smile anew.
“How have you been? I didn’t think I’d see you here again!” He was cheerful again and polite as always, but for a moment you felt mildly insulted, as though he’d implied that maybe he didn’t expect you to be with Daichi for this long.
Maybe you were just overreacting.
...
Yeah, you were just overreacting.
“Mmm, things have been great!” You replied earnestly, fiddling subconsciously with your engagement ring again, only to catch him laying eyes on it but making no comment. For some reason, you didn’t feel like it was worth mentioning either.
Silence sat between the two of you as you stared out into the road again together. Two strangers who’d known each other briefly. You wished he would go back in and the night would be over and you could forget the fact that you were suddenly attracted to him.
Ah, that was it. And that would be it.
Hinata spoke again and your heart thumped at his simple question, “Are you happy?”
You gave him a look of confusion but you could already tell what he meant just by the look in his eyes. The same look he gave his opponents on the court, the one that demanded to be taken seriously.
While, it wasn’t exactly the same look that he gave you when you brushed his confession off those many years ago, it was pretty darn close.
“Y-yes?” You asked, feigning incomprehension. He smiled in response but not with his eyes.
“When’s the wedding?”
The shift of his tone back to excitement was jarringly unnatural, especially since you hadn’t even brought up your wedding, and now you wondered how one person could be confident enough to appear out of nowhere and ask bold questions to a complete stranger.
“I’m not sure yet… we haven’t planned yet.”
“Great!” He interjected suddenly, and rose to his feet. “I still have time!”
Time?
He turned to re-enter the restaurant as you looked at him in shock and incredulity. “Excuse me, time to do what?” You asked, immediately questioning why those words had come out of your mouth the moment they did.
Hinata turned to face you, his smile only mildly sinister when compared to the seriousness of his gaze.
“Time to convince you, of course. I've always liked you from the start, ___, and I think… actually I know that I can treat you better than Daichi does.”
And with that he turned the corner, re-entering the restaurant and leaving you in a complete and utter shock.
---
Who would believe you?
Sweet little Hinata threatening to break up your upcoming marriage?
Sweet little Hinata planning to steal your heart right under his senpai’s nose?
Sweet little Hinata texting you suddenly at 11pm the next day while you got ready for bed just to let you know that he was “thinking of you”?
You looked at the phone incredulously, your other hand still holding your toothbrush wondering how to best respond to the message. The obvious answer was to block his number - you weren’t exactly sure how he’d gotten it anyway, but as your finger hovered over the button, you paused.
Then Daichi turned the corner of your bathroom door and startled, you fumbled and dropped your phone.
“You okay, Shakes?” He joked, as he reached for your phone, but you grabbed it quickly, locking it and placing it facedown on the bathroom sink. You quickly nodded, continuing to brush rapidly.
“Can you believe he grew taller?”
Your eyes rose.
“H-he?”
Daichi laughed. “Hinata, of course. He was such a shrimp, remember? I mean he’s still not that tall, but he definitely looks a lot more like an adult, right?”
“Y-yeah…,” you agreed, sheepishly, as Daichi hopped into bed, leaving you to squirm at the sight of your own reflection in the bathroom mirror.
---
The next morning, you woke up to no new messages on your phone and breathed a sigh of relief, assuming that your non-response had sent the point across to the young volleyball player. With that odd guilt now off your shoulders, you occupied yourself with the first steps of wedding planning, spending most of the day browsing through websites and calling companies. You were determined to do this mostly yourself and do it right.
You weren’t exactly sure what you were trying to prove but over the next couple of weeks, you dove headfirst into flowers and venues and elaborate table accents and fancy invitations and ignoring Hinata’s messages that had now upgraded to thirst traps that kept your eyes lingering on the phone way too long, while Daichi spent more and more time at work, and less and less time with you, until suddenly…
“Daichi!”
For the fourth night in a row, Daichi had come home in the middle of the night and wordlessly crawled into bed beside you as you tossed and turned waiting for him to come home, because that was all you did: waste time until he returned to you, of course. What else could you do? Your world was so small, after all.
And it would only get smaller once you got married. Your miniscule sphere of existence centered around Daichi and you were beginning to resent it.
Was that the reason you were starting to save every one of Hinata’s dirty pictures?
Dirty was an overstatement - you had seen everything up to his V-line and while your artist’s eye could now trace every single bit of his anatomy from memory, you couldn’t say anything he sent you was truly risqué, could you? Maybe he sent those pics to every girl on his phone, or maybe you were different...
That was besides the point. The point was that suddenly the man who lay beside you every night was no longer doing it for you.
“___,” Daichi whispered groggily, revealing that he really had just passed out the moment his head hit the pillow. “I really need to sleep… what’s the problem?”
You faltered, unable to come up with something to explain why you’d just thrown a mini-tantrum.
“... there’s no problem, I was just… never mind.”
Too many things bubbled inside you and were left unspoken that night, and so in order to express yourself, you settled on, or rather on top, something way worse.
“I have to admit, I didn’t expect it to be this easy.”
Hinata didn’t mean to be offensive - howcouldhebehewassuchasweetboyafterall - but the pang of guilt in your chest said otherwise, as you inhaled and exhaled softly under the weight of his muscular body pressed against yours.
Maybe you felt bad, but the feeling was short-lived because once Hinata’s fingers dug into the flesh of your hips and gripped you tightly, firmly, so much so in fact you were sure it was just to prove that for all these years you had really belonged to him, he thrust into you so sharply and precisely that you let out a gasp as the intense pleasure blinded you.
“S-Shoyo!”
“Say it louder,” was all he whispered as he flipped you over before slamming you down onto him hard, sending another wave of intense stimulation through you.
You screamed his name again, tears now coming to your eyes as he bucked his hips against you, bouncing you up and down his deliciously large cock at a brutal, energetic pace, knowing very well that you couldn’t keep up from the short, unintelligible sounds now leaping out of your throat.
“You’ve always been mine, ___. You just didn’t know it yet.”
Warm wetness streaming from your face almost as much as from the space between your legs, you couldn’t find the words to protest. Did you want to protest? Was he right? Wasn’t he right?
Your mind was too hazy for thought, and instead you let selfish desire overtake you for the rest of the night.

Insecure
Woohoo, my first fic on here! I really hope you guys like it. One day I might go back and rewrite it, but I had a lot of fun! ✨💕
Pairing: Tomura Shigaraki x OC
Summary: Shigaraki is feeling insecure about his upgraded body, and about himself in general. Juno decides to help him feel better.
Content: NSFW, femdom, pegging, fingering (Shig receiving), rough sex, hair pulling, edging, teasing, Shiggy being an adorable bottom
Words: 2.6K
Tomura Shigaraki sighed softly as he looked in the mirror, insecurity rearing its ugly face as he looked at his nude body. Seeing his pale, dry skin made his neck itch. He lifted his left hand up, glaring at the missing digits. His fight replayed in his head as he wiggled his remaining ring finger and pinky. ‘Well, at least I can still wear a wedding ring.’ He jokingly thought. Tears swelled up in his eyes as he squirted lotion into his hand, lathering it on his arms, the feeling of his skin on his fingertips making him feel more insecure. “I hate this body. I hate this body. I hate this body...” He mumbled, shame and anger welling in his core. He wished his stupid quirk could work on him too so he could be dusted.
“Shiggy, I’m back!”
Shiggy jumped as the door opened, his girlfriend casually walking in. “Dabi was being really- oh.” Juno stopped in her tracks as she closed the door. “O-oh hey! I didn’t know you’d be home so early uh- d-don’t look!” He quickly covered his body with his hands, not really covering much. “What’s wrong, love? Why are you covering yourself?” She chuckled. “Come on, Shiggy. Why are you hiding?” She stepped towards him, making him step back in fear. “I-I don’t want you looking at my body. It’s gross.” Tears threatened to fall again, the feeling of her eyes on his nude body making him queasy.
Juno sighed softly. “You don’t like being naked in front of me. And even when you are, you turn the lights off. Is this why?” Tears streamed down his face as he nodded, looking away in shame. She gently grabbed his hands, pulling them off his body. “Your body is beautiful, Shiggy.” His cheeks were stained pink, whether from embarrassment or shame, he couldn’t tell. He chewed on his bottom lip, insecurities swirling around in his head.
Tomura and Juno had been together for a little over a year already, but he never showed her his nude body. She never even saw him half naked. Her opinion mattered to him more than anything, and the fear of her having a negative opinion on the way he looked was almost debilitating. He would take extra precautions to make sure his body wasn’t shown, even when they were making love. She seemed to be understanding, never pressuring him into stripping. Even on the days he craved skin-to-skin contact, she respected his decision to keep the lights off. The nudeness wouldn’t last for long though, as he’d put his clothes back on right after he came off his sexual high.
Shiggy mentally beat himself up for getting caught in such a vulnerable state, a slip of judgement leaving him exposed, literally and figuratively. He wanted to disappear, too afraid to hear or see her reaction to him. His body trembled softly as she tucked her finger under his chin, turning his head to look at her. “Did you hear me? You’re beautiful. I don’t think you’re gross. You’re amazing.” An honest smile graced her face, the expression just barely melting away his shame.
Shiggy sniffled as Juno wiped his tears. “Here, I’ll help you put on your lotion.” He quickly shook his head as he backed out of her hold. “N-no, I’ve got it, don’t worry. I can do it myself.” She ignored his statements and grabbed the lotion, gathering some in her hand. He went to protest, but the words died in his throat as she rubbed the lotion on his neck and chest, hands gently massaging the skin as she did so. “No wonder you always smell so good.” She mused, the smell of cocoa butter on her hands and his body.
“J-Juno…” Shiggy whispered as she continued lathering his skin, complimenting him as she did so, making his face burn red. “This big, warm chest.” She placed a kiss on a little scar between his pecs. “I love listening to your heartbeat when we cuddle.” She rubbed lotion down his stomach and sides. “Your body is your story, baby. Every scar, every taut muscle, it all tells a story of what made you who you are.” She peppered kisses along a big scar on his side, her hands trailing to his hips. “Every time I’d feel your bare skin, I would think about how you would look. And you’re better than I imagined.”
Shiggy lifted his fist to his mouth, gently biting down on it as Juno kissed along his body, all while massaging his skin. His cheeks burned hot as she complimented every area she touched, the praise igniting a fire in his core. He softly gasped as she playfully nipped a sensitive spot on his v-line, now on her knees. His cock twitched at the contact, choking when the head brushed against her chest. “Oh? Someone’s excited.” She teased, standing up to gently nudge him to the bed.
With a nervous grunt, Shiggy plopped down on the bed, hands fidgeting beside him as his lover spread his legs, his half-hard cock in her hand. A small moan slipped past his lips as she stroked him to full hardness. “You know, I’ve always loved how thick your thighs are.” She squeezed his thigh, digging her nails into the sensitive skin, making him twitch in her hold. “Don’t worry, I’ll show you how amazing you are, Pretty Boy.” His eyes widened at the pet name. “P-Pretty Boy?” His skin tingled as the name rolled off his tongue.
Juno hummed in acknowledgement. “You’re my Pretty Boy. You’re so handsome and I’ll remind you of that until you believe it yourself.” He gasped silently as she engulfed his length in her mouth, her fist gripping what she couldn’t fit. “O-Oh God, y-you really went for it~” He breathed, placing four cautious fingers on her head. She sucked his cock down in earnest but took her time pleasuring him, drawing out his moans.
“Juno~” Shiggy moaned out, watching her bob her head on his erection, spit gathering on her hand and dripping down her chin. Her tongue pressed flat against the vein on the underside of his cock, the head slipping down her throat as she gagged softly around it. She pulled off his member with a soft pop, saliva still connecting her to it, the sight alone damn near making him cum. “Your cock is so big, it barely fits down my throat~” She cooed, stroking his spit-soaked length. He looked down at her with half lidded eyes, pupils blown in lust, a thin layer of sweat sticking his hair to his face. His lips were slightly parted, little moans spilling out with every stroke on his cock. “You look so adorable, Pretty Boy~ That submissive expression on your face is to die for~” “K-keep sucking my cock, please.” He mumbled while he tugged on her hair, trying to push her closer.
Juno chuckled softly, placing a little kiss on the tip of Shiggy’s cock. “Patience, Pretty Boy. I have so much more planned for you. Lie back.” With a whine, Shiggy obeyed and shifted to the middle of the bed, laying back. He saw her arm stretch into the dresser, confusion stirring until he suddenly realized what she was reaching for. “N-no, don’t tell me you-”
“I am. We haven’t done it in a while. This is the perfect opportunity to do it again, only this time I get to see you.” Juno said calmly, her arm coming back to set a strap-on and lube on the bed beside him. “Spread yourself for me, Pretty Boy.” Shiggy looked away, a defiant pout on his lips. “I said,” she popped his thigh, making him yelp, “spread yourself. You know what do to.” He gulped hard as he spread his legs, hooking his hands under his knees. “Good boy~” She praised as she stripped her clothes off. Shiggy stared up at the ceiling in embarrassment.
“A-ah!” Shiggy cried out softly he felt a lubed finger slip into his hole, making him squirm. Juno experimentally wiggled her finger. “Does it hurt?” “A-a little.” He closed his eyes as she slowly moved her finger, stinging pain melting into pleasure as she nipped down his thigh, trying to get him to relax. His toes wiggled as the odd sensation sent shivers up his spine, hot puffs of breath coming past his lips.
Shiggy’s mouth hung open in a quiet gasp as his lover chomped down on a sensitive spot on his thigh, using it as a distraction and adding a second digit, scissoring them inside him. “You’re being such a good boy, you know. You’re taking my fingers so well~” Juno kissed the bite, his skin quickly blossoming purple. Her words made his cock ache, the overwhelming praise setting his skin ablaze. Hearing her casually compliment his face was already embarrassing enough. But hearing her compliment his body, the skin he grew to hate, was intense. It was so overwhelming that he didn’t know what to do with himself, his love for Juno and the embarrassment of being exposed swirling in his chest.
Shiggy whined softly as she missed his prostate over and over. “Y-you’re doing that o-on purpose.” He huffed, locking eyes with her. The expression on her face made his stomach drop. An innocent smile graced her lips, but her pupils were blown with lust, desire and passion burning in her eyes. “Doing what on purpose? This?” She missed again, making him groan. “Oh, sorry, am I missing something?” She batted her eyelashes, placing wet kisses down his thigh, stopping to nibble at the sweet spot on his hip. Shiggy’s brows furrowed together as he rutted on her fingers, letting out a small cry when he ground her fingers on his prostate.
“Is that what you wanted, Pretty Boy? Be a good boy and use your words more next time~” Juno curled her fingers against his prostate, teasing it until he quivered in pleasure. His legs threatened to close as the feeling became almost too much to handle, a part of him wanting to run away from her fingers. “Look at how much you’re shaking, you’re close, aren’t you~?” Shiggy nodded frantically, letting out a frustrated growl when she stilled her hand. “Use your words, Pretty Boy~” She teased.
“P-please don’t stop,” Shiggy begged, “I’m so close, please make me cum-ah~!” He choked on his words as Juno picked her pace back up, making his back arch in pleasure. “F-fuck~!” His hips bucked as he came, ropes of white covering his chest and stomach. He panted heavily as Juno pulled her fingers out, casually grabbing the strap-on as she talked. “Your cum looks so nice on your skin, Pretty Boy. And that look on your face is so precious.” He gazed at the ceiling through clouded eyes, reality not catching up yet. “A-am I really that nice to look at…?” He wondered, insecurity coming back to rip him from his high. “Of course, Shiggy. I love how you look.”
Shiggy sighed as he let go of his legs, closing them and hugging his arms. “Why, though…How is it you can love my body so easily, but I can’t…” He gasped softly as he was wrapped in his lover’s stretched arms, picking him up and placing him on his knees. “I’ll show you how.” She gently pushed him over, reality finally hitting him. “W-wait I-I don’t think I’m ready!” He uttered nervously. “Do you trust me, Pretty Boy?” Juno asked, rubbing his lower back.” Stuffing his face into the blanket, he nodded, wincing as she entered him, the tight ring of muscle stretching around the dildo.
Shiggy let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding when Juno bottomed out. “Holy shit.” He panted softly. Juno leaned forward to thread her fingers through his hair, a gentle smile forming on his lips at the passionate gesture. “You ready?” She asked, massaging his scalp soothingly. “Yeah.” He whispered. “Good.”
Without warning, Juno gripped his hair, yanking him up. Shiggy cried out in pain. “Be a good boy and look at yourself while I fuck you~” She growled in his ear, slowly pulling out and slamming the strap-on into him. He moaned loudly, mouth falling open as he looked at himself in the mirror. Humiliation crawled up his spine at the sight of himself being spread by Juno, wet squelching and slapping skin meeting his lewd sounds in the room.
“Look at yourself, Shiggy. Look at how adorable you look impaled on this cock. Look at how your legs shake, look at that sexy expression! You’re so handsome, darling~” She giggled in his ear as she pounded his prostate, his tongue lolling out. “Aren’t you so cute? Tell me how cute you are, Pretty Boy~”
“I-I- ah- I l-look really- mm- c-cute,” Shiggy stuttered, “s-so- ah fuck- cute on your c-cock. D-don’t stop, please~!” He stared holes into the mirror, forcing his eyes to roam his body in the reflection. “Touch yourself for me, Pretty Boy. I want you to watch yourself get off~” He nodded, feverishly stroking his cock in sync with her thrusts. “Are you watching, my good boy?” Juno slapped his ass, making him jump slightly. “Yes, I-I’m looking a-at myself~!” Shiggy panted, moans bordering on screams of pleasure as he chased his orgasm.
“You look like you’re so ready to cum, I bet your cock is throbbing, aching for release, so go ahead.” Juno pulled him closer, biting down on his neck. “Cum for me Tenko~”
The sound of his real name on her lips sent him over the edge, stars exploding behind his eyes as his body spasmed. An amalgamation of incoherent swears spilled between his moans as his cum spilled onto the blanket, mixing with the puddle of drool below him. He whined softly as he came down from his intense orgasm, tears of pleasure streaming down his face, aggressively trembling as his tired body struggled to keep itself up.
“What a good boy I have.” Juno let him go, his body collapsing face first into the blanket. She pulled out, taking the harness off and setting it to the side as she rubbed his back, his body still twitching. He weakly rolled to his side, looking at his lover through exhausted lids. “Wow…” He croaked, voice dry and raspy. She chuckled softly, laying beside him. “Sorry, was that too rough?” She cupped his face as he shook his head. “It was intense, but it was good.” He snuggled up to her, resting his head between her breasts.
Juno hummed softly as she rubbed his sore scalp. “You really do have a nice body, Tenko. You look perfect to me.” He stuffed his face deeper into her chest at her words, the use of his real name making him feel more embarrassed. “I’ll tell you how amazing your body is as many times as possible until you see what I see, okay? I know today was an accident, but maybe we can work on you having less clothes on around me?” She tapped his cheek, scooting back so he could look up at her.
Shiggy nodded. “Okay, I’ll try.” Juno smiled, pulling him into a kiss. “Good.” She mumbled against his lips. He hummed into the kiss, pressing her body closer as his tongue explored her mouth. She moaned into his mouth as he sucked on her tongue, running his hand down her back and resting it against her ass.
Juno pulled away with a giggle. “Hey, keep doing that and we’ll have to go another round.” Shiggy shook his head. “I can’t even feel my legs, there’s no way in hell we’re going again. I’ll stop.” He pressed her forehead against his, eyes shutting. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Juno replied, peppering his nose in little kisses as he fell asleep.

OC Interview: Vatna
Thanks for the tag @cleverblackcat, @mageofholyandraste, @darethshirl! It sounds fun!
Introduction
This event was organized a few weeks prior to the Winter Palace ball. Ambassador Josephine Montilyet had invited a few Orlesian journalists to Skyhold to interview the newly appointed Inquisitor.
Can you introduce yourself?
Vatna Einarsdotten Selkesdotten of Two Falcon Hold. (a moment of silence) In the Frostback Mountains. (another moment of silence as the interviewers wait for her to say something else) Inquisitor of the Second Inquisition. (it seems that she won’t say anything more, so one of the journalists asks the next question)
What are your gender identity, orientation, and relationship status?
Is that what you ask every Lowlander? (grumbles) Alright. I see myself a woman. Who I invite or don’t invite to my bed is my very own matter. I am unmarried and have never been before. If you’re curious, yes, the Avvar may marry multiple times in their life if they wish so. Does this answer satisfy you?
Where and when were you born?
I was born in Two Falcon Hold, eighteen... no, nineteen winters ago. (she corrects herself as she remembers that winter came and went when she was away from home, making her one winter older than when she left)
What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?
I am a mage. Unlike most spellweavers in your Circles, we in the mountains train with all sort of weapons, just like any other warrior. I prefer fighting in close quarters. When I came of age, I chose an axe as my preferred weapon. It was commissioned from the dwarves of Orzammar. The blade is engraved with runes and the handle has lyrium core that I can easily channel my magic through. It has been... misplaced for the first few months that I spent with the Inquisition, but it was recovered. Fortunately, the gods blessed me with another weapon in the meantime - the fire-staff that belonged to the Avvar-Mother. I’ve been told this topic is a source of confusion, but I’m not sure how to explain it better. Yes, I do use both an axe and a staff now. I had a battleaxe when I arrived into the Lowlands. Then I lost it. Then I claimed the staff of Tyrdda Bright-Axe. Tyrdda was called Bright-Axe because she had a staff with a fire-focusing crystal. But the word ‘axe’ used to mean every hafted weapon. Then I got back my axe, my regular axe... Let’s go to the next question.
Are you happy?
I’ll be happy when the Lady’s Veil is fully repaired and Corypheus lies dead. Until then, I have work to do. Would you be happy if there were world-dooming critters in your house? Because there are. There are cowards in Orlais scheming together with Corypheus, maybe even people you know. (a lady in a pale blue mask exchanges looks with the others and suggests a lighter topic)
Family and friends
What should I say? Just talk about my family and friends? Well, my father is called Einar, my mother is called Selke. In my hold, we take bynames after both our parents, so I actually already revealed their names. My father was born is Two Falcon Hold, my mother moved from another hold further south. They’ve been married for twenty three years now. They were rather mad to promise such a long marriage without extensions. Eighty-eight knots, can you imagine? I mean, they could always as the Thane to cut the rope short if they grew tired of each other... But it works well for them. I hope they’ll live together until it the last knot. (the interviewers prompt her to explain what she meant by knots and ropes) Oh, I run away with that. The number of knots is the number of years the marriage is supposed to last. Before the wedding, the bride ties a number of knots into a rope, and the groom’s task is to untie them. On the wedding day, the bride starts to sing hymns to the Lady of the Skies. The groom begins to untie the knots then. However many he’ll manage to unravel before the hymns ends, that many years they shall be married together. After the promise ends, they can get married again if they wish. But my parents vowed to get married for eighty-eight years right away. Eight is a blessed amount. Eighty-eight, doubly so. I’ve been told the ritual took all day to complete. By the end of it, my mother’s throat was sore and my father’s knuckles were raw. But they got married how they wanted, and the bond has been steadfast for many years now.
I have a younger sister, Hirka. She’s only four winters younger than me but she can be a real brat sometimes. We used to be inseparable as children. Then we both grew a bit. I got my magic and had to spent a lot of time mastering my abilities. She had other things to do too. But she’s my sister no matter what.
I have some (she pauses to rememeber the right word in Common language) aunts and uncles, but most of them and their families live in other holds, so I haven’t seen them a lot. Only a few times, never in some cases. The word still travels through the Mountains, so we do hear news from them every now and then.
In the end, the whole hold is your kin.
Have you ever run away from home?
Once or twice, I skulked outside of the hold and refused to go back until well after nightfall. But I never really run away, I wouldn’t abandon my family like that.
Would you consider marriage or having children?
I don’t know.
Do you secretly hate any of your friends?
No, I do not. Those who I call my friends, I think as such. I make my dislikes known. Too easily, I’ve been told.
Which friend knows everything about you?
There is someone who knows my soul, but I’m not going to talk about it.
Asked by fans
Are you literate? Have you been to school?
Yes, I can read and write. Not everyone in the Mountains does, but more than you imagine, I think. Augurs, skalds, merchants, those who aspire to be thanes... Many are able to tell the numbers, in order to trade with dwarves, but haven’t practiced beyond that.
The augurs learn how to read so that they may study old magics. I was an apprentice to the Sky Watcher of my hold - uh, a Sky Watcher is like a... priest to the Lady of the Skies. I was supposed to become his successor. So I studied something almost every day since I was eight. One day, I would memorize the shapes of protection sigils, and then try to draw them myself. Another day, I would study the uses of all mushrooms found in caves. But we don’t have any schools like there are in the lowlands. You learn from your mentors and from the gods, and most importantly, from your own mistakes.
The eeriest prediction you made that later came true?
Eeriest? I’m not sure. I dreams of many things. Some come true, but not in the way I imagined them to.
What is something you were embarrassingly late to realise?
I had no idea those lap dogs your Orlesian ladies carry around are really dogs. I’d never guess they share blood with wolves. I thought they’re some sort of magic toy.
Do you have mental or physical problems?
Do you honestly expect me to reveal my weaknesses to you?
What is your current main goal?
As I said before, restore the Veil and kill Corypheus.
Drink or food?
Am I supposed to choose between the two? Food, I guess. I could live on soups and stews, maybe. Does goat milk count as drink or food?
Cats or dogs?
Birds.
Optimist or pessimist?
I learned these words only recently. I must say, I do not fully understand why your sages would divide people like that. Is there someone who truly sees everything in bright colours? And someone who sees everything in black? Isn’t everyone a little bit of this and a little bit of that? Perhaps I’m more on the pessimist side.
Sassy or sarcastic?
Eh, sarcastic.
HAVE YOU EVER:
Have you ever been caught sneaking out?
Yes, I once got so bored with my healing lessons that I decided to sneak out while Jokka wasn’t looking. She of course noticed me right away. I never tried to sneak out again.
Broken a bone?
I broke my left wrist while climbing. My mentor healed it quickly but he left a scar to serve as a reminder to not be so reckless.
Received flowers?
I... (she bits her tongue) Josephine tells me I had received several bouquets of flowers this last week. She had placed them in the guest hall where everyone can enjoy them.
Ghosted someone?
Ghosted? (a man in a green mask explains mirthfully) No, never. I wouldn’t leave someone hanging like that. I’d tell him straight in the face. (she replies sharply)
Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn't get?
I have yet to learn how to pretend so well as to laugh at something I don’t understand or find funny.

Happy FFWF! Now is the time for you to rave about your favorite fanfic author! Why are they your favorite? What exactly draws you to them? Their writing style? Their content? Whatever it is, say so! (Bonus if you throw in your fav fic written by them ;))
oh this is so fun!!!
gosh where to starttttttt???
I don't know that I have favorite authors per se (except for like literally everyone) but not like in the sense that I follow anyone super duper closely?? I'm a big fan of long (or long-ish) fics so when I find one I really like I will sometimes read some of the other stuff that that author has written as well, but the way I keep track of what I've read on ao3 is a HOT MESS (which is to say I have NO SYSTEM and its too late now to start one lol) and I frequently forget what I've read and from who. So its hard to pick a favorite 🙈
there are four long fics I've read that stand out as favorites of mine though!! And bonus, they are all written by delightful humans to boot, so that definitely qualifies for favorite author status.
@a-d-curtis Own Worst Enemy is just this beautiful tragic heartwarming heartbreaking breathtaking journey. One of those stories that, after you've read it, you have to sit and stare at a wall for a bit because it made you FEEL so much.
@theclockworkmonk The Morning After is hilarious and compelling and just an absolute riot. I started following it right when they picked it back up and OH MY GOD I am so glad I did. It was such a delight to get update emails for and the final chapter actually came out the morning of my friend's wedding (after we'd had a littttttle too much ~celebration~ the night before) and I thought that was just incredibly apropos.
@geek-fashionista Lucky Us was one of the first long fics I read in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom and it was absolutely everything I want out of an ml fic. The romance, the identity shenanigans, the "you've got mail but make it 100 times better and add pastries" of it all?? I recently re-read it because the happy feelings of the last chapter were just so so sweet and it was just as lovely the second time around. The way she writes Adrien in this fic is just perfect and it genuinely got me back into reading some more modern romance ~outside~ of fandom.
aaaaaand @itsmoonpeaches The Ghosts That We Knew is just an absolute masterclass in worldbuilding and suspense and the kataang of it all is just 🥺. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN when I read it... Like I have this distinct memory of reading it while standing in line at a shwarma place (and being very salty that I had to be INCONVENIENCED by basic human things like ~being hungry~ and ~driving five minutes to pick up takeout~ when all I wanted to do was keep reading.) I had to finish the chapter I was on once I got in my car because I could not bear to drive home home without doing so. My food got cold but I finshed that gd chapter and it was worth it.😤
as I've been writing this I've thought of so so many more but if I included them all we'd be here all day, so I'll leave you with this list.

Why Are You Sad, September?
Here we go for the first request for my 4.7k followers event! Thank you so much for your request Anu!! I hope you like it!
This was written with the prompts:
1.“KISSES!”
2. “You are too far away.”
“I am literally on the couch with you…”
“But are you in my arms? No. See? Too far away.”
The prompts are written in italic, so you can check that I've done my job well ;)
Warning! You are not prepared for the amount of absolute fluff in this piece. Read at your own risk!
Word Count : 2037
It's rather cold outside. September seems to be particularly sad this year, and you wonder why. It's raining this afternoon, has been so for four days in a row now. The sky is grey and spooky-looking above London, a sea of clouds hiding the blue firmament. The rain makes strange little patterns on the windowpanes, and its sound makes almost the beat of a melody.
It's the weekend though. Sunday. It's quiet in London, lazy and too cold for people to be brave enough to fight the rain and take a walk. You don't blame them, after all, you're doing exactly the same.
In the corner of the room, your owl cleans its long brown feather, occasionally letting out one of her cute little sounds.
There is a record playing, an old Muggle album that you don't remember the name of, but you like the tunes. On the low table before you, two hot cups of coffee are smoking, little puffs disappearing as soon as they are created above them.
You're reading the Daily Prophet, hidden under your warmest blanket, almost lying on your sofa. On the opposite side of the furniture, Sirius is doing the same as you, only he's reading a muggle magazine about motorcycles instead.
You take a moment to look at him. His hair has grown a little over the past couple of months, now covering a part of his shoulder blades. There are traces of white in the dark stubble that covers his cheeks, and his reading glasses are a little lopsided on his nose. You like that look on him. The aging part. The watching-you-grow-old part of loving each other. You pull your mind away from memories of a time where it wasn't so sure that you could see grey hair creep up on his temples. It was a long time ago. Death Eaters were long gone.
Instead of dwelling on such memories, you resume your study of his features. His grey eyes you have always adored match the colour of the sky outside as they travel across the pages. The bruises that colour his cheekbone and his neck haven't disappeared yet. His knuckles are still covered with bandages, but there's no blood anymore.
Sometimes you hate the fact that he became an Auror. Sometimes you wish he and James had settled for some work in an office, and you know that Lily feels the same. But then, you know him enough to be aware that it was an obvious choice for him. He loves it. And that's all the arguing you need to drown the idea. Still, you wish you could make his scratches and bruises disappear simply with a kiss. He would never be hurt then.
"Admiring the view, are we?" His voice pulls you out of your reverie, and you playfully throw a cushion at his face to make his smirk disappear.
"I mean... I don't blame you," he goes on with a toothy grin, easily catching the cushion before it would hit him. "With a husband as hot as I am..."
"I was trying to evaluate how much your hair had gone whiter these past couple of months."
"You're an arse."
You laugh at him while he gives you one of his adorable pouts.
"I'm joking. I was admiring my very hot husband indeed. Besides, I like your grey hair."
"Really? You like it?"
You nod, humming appreciatively. You disregard the newspapers completely and put them down on the ground.
"I do. Reminds me that we've made it."
He gives you a tender smile, putting his magazine away as well.
"We did make it," he nods, before his eyes would drift toward the moving pictures that rested above the mantlepiece, settling on his favourite picture of you and your children. "And we've done pretty great since, don't you think?"
"Yeah... I think we did."
"I just wish they wrote to us more often."
"They're at Hogwarts! Give them a break, they're having fun. The same way we did."
Sirius gave you a pointed look.
"Well... I hope they don't have as much fun as we both did when they reach 7th year. There was too much sex involved and I don't have the strength to deal with all that for now."
You laughed at him.
"They're not there yet. Besides, Harry did survive Hogwarts!"
"Yeah... well... his 7th year was apparently quite close to what his parents were doing back then too so... bad example."
"He and Ginny are cute together though."
"Potters and their love for redheads..." Sirius sighs, leaning to grab his coffee and put down his glasses on the table instead.
He takes a sip, but puts down his cup again quickly. He turns to you, a large grin back on his features as he opens his arms, an obvious plea for you to cuddle him for the rest of the day.
You know the drill. How many days have been spent like this? Trapped in Sirius's arms when you had a thousand things to do?
Many. The thought makes you smile.
"You're too far away," he complains, giving you his adorable puppy eyes and you silently curse his Animagus form for enhancing that trait of his. He didn't need that to be irresistible.
"I am literally on the couch with you…"
"But are you in my arms? No. See? Too far away."
You can only laugh at how silly he is sometimes, but crawl across the sofa nonetheless, settling against his chest and shoulder. And you are forced to admit that it's much better than to be in the corner of the couch, no matter how comfortable your furniture is.
From Sirius's corner, you can peer in your kitchen, and even from there you can see some of the drawings your children have made when they were little that now decorate the doors of the closets and your furniture. You smile at the sight, nuzzling against the crook of Sirius's neck.
Your fingers brush against his jaw and you can feel the thin cut that is slowly healing there.
"When are you supposed to go back to work?"
"Tired of having me around already?"
"I'm worried."
He heaves a sigh.
"I'm fine."
"I know."
"So... no need to worry!"
"You attract troubles better than jam can attract wasps in summer, Sirius. I ought to be worried all the time about you."
"I'm careful out there, you know?" He whispered, pressing his lips to your hair. "I'm not as reckless as I was back in the days of the Order. Things have changed since then. I have people to come home to now."
You smile, his fingers writing little I love yous on your forearm.
"I know. Still... I can't help it."
He hums, low sound born in the depth of his chest, and you feel it vibrate through your frame from under you.
Sometimes he takes risks, but that's just who he is. And you love him despite that.
You reach for his hand and trace along his wedding band with your thumb. You have made such a good life for yourself with him...
You reckon that he's right. For now, at least, he's here, in your arms, safe. Your children are studying safely in Hogwarts. And really, you don't understand why September is so sad these days, because you're as happy as you can be.
"You know what could make me feel better?" You ask, looking up at him with this adorable smile of yours that he adores.
"What?"
"KISSES!" You exclaim, making him laugh.
He doesn't protest though, instead, he gladly complies. How could he not, after all?
After a few kisses, he tries to break away, eyeing the coffees on the table.
"Coffee's growing cold," he mumbles against your lips, but you pull him in for another kiss, and there is no way he can keep his eyes open when you kiss him like that.
"Don't care," you're the one mumbling against his lips this time. "You're warm, though."
He chuckles, his forehead resting against yours while he trails his fingertips across your cheekbone.
"You're just using me cause you're cold, huh?" he asks, a playful and rather mischievous look in his eyes.
"Hey! You're the one who begged for my cuddles not two minutes ago!" you reply, faking outrage when you could barely keep a straight face.
"It's true. You've discovered my evil plan…"
You dramatically gasped.
"You are the one using me cause you're cold! And I thought you just loved to be held by me…"
Sirius lets out one of his loud laughs, the ones that sound a little like he barks more than laughs.
"I do, my love. I do love to be held by you."
He dives for another kiss, but you playfully escape, his lips landing on your chin instead.
"No! You're not nice, so no kisses."
"No kisses?"
He gently bit down on your chin, making you shriek in surprise and try to escape his embrace, but you're trapped in his arms, and there is no way for you to move away now. Besides, you don't really want to.
"Sirius… I will hex you."
"I know you're not… Sirius."
"Oh… by Merlin's grey beard, I can't believe that after all this time you still use this stupid pun," you groan.
"It's hilarious! I am hilarious!"
"You wish. Two decades, Sirius! For two decades I've heard that joke!"
"And yet, you love it."
"I don't love it."
"You do!"
"I don't."
"You love me, so it means you love my stupid jokes."
"You're insufferable."
"Well, maybe. But you signed up for it the day you kissed me in the dungeons while we were hiding from Minerva, so don't complain now."
"If I had known that day what kind of trouble that kiss would get me into, I might have reconsidered and let Minerva find me."
"Well, strange… cause you signed up for it again when you kissed me in Hogsmeade after our first date. And all the nights we spent in the room of requirement. And then when we moved in together. And when you said yes and married me. And the days you carried our babies… And right now, when you came to cuddle me and asked for kisses."
He has such a cheeky grin on his face and you want to make the cocky expression disappear. But you can't argue.
You have chosen him indeed. Every single day since that chase against McGonagall across the dungeons in your sixth year at Hogwarts. Every single day ever since, you have chosen to spend your life with him, and have never wished for anyone to be by your side in his stead.
And Agrippa, are you lucky that he kept on choosing you over and over again as well.
"So… are you sure you want to reconsider that choice you made so long ago?" he teases, knowing perfectly well the answer.
And you know how to fight back against this smudge look on his face. You have to kill him with honesty and love.
"No, I don't want to reconsider. I chose the love of my life that day, and I always will, no matter what."
His lopsided smirk vanishes in the blink of an eye, and instead, you can feel his heart beating faster in his chest. You can't feel though that Sirius suspects the organ might explode for holding so much love. And it's all for you. For you and your children, and the family you have built together.
"And I will always choose you too, you know?" he answers. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'll always love you."
Who would have thought he would be lucky enough to have you in his arms like this twenty years later? His teenager self who tried to play it cool while he was desperately falling for you wouldn't have, for sure.
You snuggle into his chest again, and while you cuddle, abandoning your coffees to grow cold, his eyes drift to the dark sky above and the angry rain hitting the windows.
Why is September so sad? How could it, when in your home, the world seemed so bright?
