The paradigm changed when Marx found Magolor's tormented soul and convinced the Crown to give Magolor control of his body back. Magolor, trapped in a series of troubled and confusing hallucinations due to how horrific and constant the pain of having a large, wrathful tree feeding off of and growing inside him was, blindly used the crown's limitless power to create an actual theme park.

"Timeline-wise" I'd say once Elfilin and Adeleine started interacting more, Fecty probably said some off-handed remark to "the human girl" (ie: "...your eyes are the exact same color as that boy in hell...") that clued X-over Adeleine into the location/existence of her X-over brother and they had a big, tearful reunion and here we are!

(1) PS: "Hell" here is not full of demons and pitchforks, but it is uncomfortably *bright* (the sun is ever-burning and the sky goes through a cycle of golden hour-orange to fever-dream dark with shades of electric pink at night) and also, there is a larger than average amount of fire. A whole lake made of it, in fact!

That was an accident on my part because I drew him from memory for the first Apologies x-over, forgetting he’s only supposed to have one eye due to still being half rooted to the crown.

I kept up with it after because, eh~ the souls are supposed to be healing slowly after "A Perfect Circle," so maybe his other eye came back on its own to show he’s reclaiming more of himself...?

(Kind wish I hadn’t made that mistake though because I was weirdly attached to one-eyed Mago Soul’s design. But he can’t just go and lose it again now for no reason. ^^)

Speaking of the first crossover and “continuity errors,” Noir wore his scarf more like an actual scarf in that one to dress in the style of the Hell branch (aka, a mix of alive and dead) but he is back to looking like regular Swordsman in “Again.” That was because I purposefully wanted the first image to fool people as to where/when this was happening, and also make it work as a legitimate visual introduction to the script portion of “Again.” Which it does, btw. That first page fairly accurately fits Noir’s experiences in DL3. ^^

I know it's shallow reasoning, but let's just go with it! If I ever return to the x-over plotline, I’ll try to indicate that properly by giving him the wrapped scarf again. ...While I’m being grilled on Hell-Branch Lore, I’m debating whether Max and Joronia are still around. I’m tempted to say “yes” and they are just healed like Magolor. (Mostly because I don’t have that many characters to work with and I think Max would be ALL IN on the “Hell is a Business Hotspot” storyline(?) we’re in.)

Okay, so I like love your work and I just finished Smile like a switch blade, and I'm work on Let Me Ride. I have a question about your AU magic-cats. If they have fur, how do hickies work? And also, how does blushing work? Like its when blood is visible under the skin, but Catra's got fur so how can her skin be seen when she blushes?

tricky answer tbh XD this is something that's kind of handwavey because of how much the answer varies by how you conceptualize catra's appearance and biology in your head, so buckle in. i feel like i talk about this like once a year and my answer is always Similar but not the Exact Same.

okay, Catra canonically has fur and blushes in the show, so for Cartoon Logic I just assume the fur on their faces (and other parts of their bodies) is finer/thinner which would allow blushes/hickies to show through some, but I'll be honest, I avoid picturing what magicat faces would look like outside of drawings because it seems like some creepy Cats (2019) shit (i think nate even said as much at some point, though he is notorious for saying total jokes that get taken too literally - and he definitely said that last part, i think on the blm stream? "you need to learn not to trust everything we say, we like to joke around," roughly from my memory).

how "detailed/realistic" i picture catra varies, but i never see fur on her face in my head, nor do i see a transition between where there is fur and is not. when i write, however, i refer to her having fluffy cheeks because like, her cheek tufts are observable in canon, but even following their existence i don't think every inch of her face has true fur on it and it probably thins out. I mostly think of it just as those cheek tufts even though i know that probably isn't "correct."

i generally try to mention things like blushing being observed on catra less than other characters because i do think they would be subtler with the fluff she is supposed to have. that said, catra can feel herself blushing and such, so from her pov it happens just as much as it would from adora's. and if we're talking about adora setting out to make a hickey or something, she can do that even if it's harder to see the product when she's done.

blushing is also weird, because i think for a lot of people you say that word and they picture cartoon shit (ive seen a post with a lot of notes indicating that, and have had that conception myself), but that isnt how people actually blush irl. that doesnt mean real blushing is not noticable still (generally in more than just the actual blood rush with the expression/mannerisms that accompany it, which would be just as observable on catra as others), but it is a lot more "flagged" and obvious in how it's portrayed in cartoons. it's kind of how, irl, people frown or show sadness with their eyebrows/eyes, but on the computer we convey it with :( A blush is generally pretty subtle, which is harder to convey in animation, especially simpler styles, so it ends up being just red cheeks in a cartoon and we all know exactly what that means.

tldr; catra is fluffy as a cartoon and she blushes, but she's probably less fluffy and it's less observable "in live action", and either way i just say eh. her fur is thin enough in those areas for it to be observable even if it is less noticable

Its antlers fray and curl at the ends, glowing as they seem to grasp for the heavens. Deep in the pupils of its eyes lies the same glow. It stands atop the water, unmoving. Unflinchingly, it watches him.  He watches it right back.  He can’t look away.  ...The cold seeps in a little further into his bones.  And he swears, on his life and all he holds dear, the eyes of the beast glow a little brighter.  He wakes with a start.

Why a Runebear? Hhhhh, idk. I thought it’d look cool, is the main reason. They’re the only other instance of “powered up” wildlife that’s more than just a sized-up version of the original (that I recall, at least.) I figured I'd borrow some of the visual language there to kind of lend some atmosphere to the scene.

Also, even though the ancestral spirit is dead when the player meets it, I wanted the avatar of Mags’ influence to take the form of something alive.

(Remember in chapter 10 that line about "a surge of strength that doesn’t feel entirely her own"? Sure, that's a standard depiction of an adrenaline rush, but perhaps under that, there's something else at play... :3)

I remember when writing this, my intention was that this is Fia’s work: she’s lending some vitality (from a previous embrace with Mags) to Rogier. As in, she needs that other half of the cursemark, so she can’t have Rogier dying just yet. Notice how when he wakes, Fia is actively touching his hand. (And his reaction, to immediately move his hand away, is good for establishing their dynamic) 

Subsequently, the next time Rogier has the dream in chapter 18, and he’s alone—so there’s nothing in the dream. 

BUT.... Since then, eh, I’ve kinda lost conviction in that interpretation. It's fun, but it's a bit convoluted, even for me XD. So, whether that was from Fia, or it's just the lingering effects of his encounter with Mags... reader's choice.

Also, sidenote: the background of this dream is meant to evoke Godwyn’s arena. Probably obvious, but it's something I hope to expand on as the fic progresses.

In their first meeting, Mags had a line about Rogier watching her, and her watching him. This line is a fun reversal of that.

("The whistle of the wind picks up again, and she can tell the man is sizing her up. She sizes the man up in return.")

...The cold seeps in a little further into his bones.  And he swears, on his life and all he holds dear, the eyes of the beast glow a little brighter. 

As deathblight sets in, there’s something here that’s resisting it. This works to set up a later scene, while still serving the surreal tone of a dream.

Summary:

Yet ever since the first time fought a monster from another world and lived to tell in 1983, Steve has never been sure of what he wants out of life, if there is even a world that still has a place in it for a man as lost as he is. Three years later as he stares down the Devil who wants to break that world apart, he no longer cares about the stakes of his future but for the lives of those who changed him. He only has one priority left to fulfill as their protector: outnumbered or not he won't let them hurt his family.

Not gonna lie to ya! Never thought I'd be here writing a Stranger Things fic. Then again I also said that about every other fandom I've written for on here so my word means nothing XD

Stranger things 4 was.....an experience. Did I love it? Volume 1 absolutely. Then volume 2 came upon us and.....what the hell was that?! Dont get me wrong, I love the way it ended with the upside down breaking into Hawkins. I loved Elevens arc in season 4 as a whole, I loved the Russian rescue mission and escape storyline which led to two of the most emotional reunion scenes I've ever seen. I loved that my favourite three characters (sans Eddie since hes only had one season hence he doesnt apply to this argument) had more screen time than they've ever had in the show. And by that I'm talking about Steve, Max and Dustin. I loved that Jonathan finally had a friend that wasn't Will or Nancy the same way I loved when Steve found a friend in Robin in season 3.

However....why were so many parts of volume 1 just completely forgotten about or rushed in volume 2? Mike telling eleven he loves her? Why was that a plot point? Why did he only say it when he was forced to say it? Why did Eddie have to die in order for the group to defeat Vecna? It would've take the bats just as much time getting back to the house as it did the trailer so they would've got him in time either way. Why did the Duffers pull a Two Days Later on us?!?!?

Another point I was confused about is why they conveniently forgot that Steve was literally mauled by bats....the scene where Eddie is explaining the warzone and Steve's just standing there bleeding through his bandages just like 'eh, just another Tuesday' made me laugh so much and then it's just never brought up again because apparently it was a way to introduce these bat things so that wed have insight into how one of the most popular characters would die....nah fuck that, imma change it.

Goes without saying Steve is absolutely my favourite character in the show. His character has by far had the greatest evolution and I cant wait to see how hes handling the aftermath in season 5. But I feel like they really missed some opportunities with him in season 4 and I'm just kind of projecting that onto this story because I like the character so much and hope you all like this story too :)

(Also side note but I'm honestly living for how the Duffers set up two potential LGBT couples with Rickie and Byler and then just threw the fruity fours great upside down adventures at us like XD I love the ship of Steve/Eddie, not sure I feel as into Ronance as alot of you but I think it's just because I like Robin way more as a character than I do Nancy, who honestly I have mixed feelings about her character.)

Also also, while this is a Steve/Eddie fic, that is not the sole or even the main focus of the story, its mainly about Steve's relationship with everyone, as well as some of the other characters with eachother, with a big ol dose of fluff on the side to cover up all the hurt in these poor kids.

mlp:fim halfway point thoughts

so i just finished MLP season 5, which means im just over halfway through the entire show, so i thought itd maybe be neat to give my thoughts on the show so far. ill go through season by season, giving each season a rating out of 10. warning this is,, a *long* post so i dont blame anyone for not reading through it all xd

season 1 (6/10)

a pretty,, alright starting season. theres plenty of good episodes and a fair few eh boring episodes. the first 2 parter is a neat intro to mlps characters and world, although i dont remember too too much from it since i watched the 2 parter a month or so before getting really into the show more recently.

season 1 isnt amazing but its not bad at all, you can definitely tell, like many other shows, that the show was still finding its footing during the first season, i specifically remembered being confused by big mac talking perfectly fine in episode 3 or 4 and then past that point almost always just saying "eeyup" or "nope"

also season 1's ending is,, odd. the gala episode they end it on is fine but it just feels like any other normal season 1 episode.

season 2 (7.5/10)

season 2 is definitely where the show picks up quite abit, theres definitely less boring eh episodes and more good episodes, and ontop of there being more good episodes, the good episodes are much better than season 1. both of the 2 parters here are really good, discords introduction as a villian in the first 2 parter is great and immediately made discord one of my favorite characters. the last 2 parter a canterlot wedding is really really good aswell, the first part is abit boring and slow by itself, but when you put part 1 and 2 together the slow pace really doesnt bother me too much.

also i really started to like the cutiemark crusaders in season 2, i started off thinking "ugh another episode based around these ponies?" and ended off the season knowing any cutiemark crusaders based episode would be for sure atleast good.

season 3 (5/10)

season 3 is a,, weird one. for starters its the shortest season, and unlike season 2 (and future seasons after season 3) it only has one two parter, that being the first 2 episodes, rather than the final episode, which is abit of an odd choice.

this season has many more boring not so great episodes than the previous seasons do. to make up for it some of the good episodes here are *really* good, babs seed, the discord reformation episode and the final episode come to mind. but those episodes dont stop most of this season from feeling very eh.

not even the two parter here is good, its a pretty unmemorable boring adventure to save the crystal kingdom (which just kinda shows up????) from a boring villian which barely even feels like a villian. plus a big thing here is that twilight and spike struggle to just let spike save the crystal kingdom because twilight would fail her lesson then? i dunno about you but in a high stakes situation like that where its possible me and an entire kingdom is about to die, i wouldnt care about some assignment.

thankfully the season pulls it together right at the very end with a pretty awesome music filled finale episode, its not a 2 parter which again is odd, and it definitely means the episode feels kinda rushed, but the idea of the mane 6's cutiemarks being mixed around and needing to be restored to their original ones is fun, plus twilight becoming an alicorn at the very end was great to see, i felt twilight after all shes been through really deserved it.

season 4 (9/10)

the best season so far. the season starts out with a pretty good, even if slightly unmemorable 2 parter. after that, the episodes start out pretty good and start to become really *really* good. some of the best in the show kind of good. theres very few bad episodes.

the season i will say felt slightly off at the beginning, even if the first few episodes were still good, im not even sure why it felt somewhat off, it just did.

this season also seems to somewhat try to be more story based, with this rainbow thing that each main character gets after going through a certain lesson, and that helps them find out a certain thing thatll help unlock a chest with 6 keys found at the beginning of the season. its a cool idea but i feel like the season doesnt commit enough to the story focused stuff for it to really feel substantial.

the final 2 parter here with tirek is amazing also, my favorite episodes in the show. it legit got me to tear up at some moments, specifically the ones where discord has to face the mane 6 after betraying them and losing his powers, with him feeling very sorry and such.

each episode in this season really got me excited to watch more, it was genuinely so good

season 5 (7.6/10)

this season starts off with alot of the momentum season 4 had, but kinda starts to fizzle out near the end. this season seems to focus a decent bit on cutiemarks, with the first 2 parter here being focused on starlight glimmer and her town of ponies with all the same cutiemark, making them all equal, so that their differences cant interfere with anything. of course starlight glimmer gets stopped and the citizens of the town get their cutiemarks again, but starlight does show up again later in the season. i really love the first 2 parter with starlight, shes a really good villian and the first two episodes of season 5 shows it really good, but the last 2 parter, when it comes to starlight is kinda lame. i love the time travel stuff with getting to see multiple entirely different versions of equestria, seeing chrysalis and the changelings again specifically was great, im kinda surprised it took this long for them to return at all. but starlights redemption is very rushed feeling and it feels very,, artificial? i dont think thats the right word but it just feels too easy. it doesnt feel nearly as well done as discords redemption or smth.

overall thoughts or whatever

i absolutely love this show, its definitely become one of my favorite shows ever, its atleast in my top 5, maybe even top 3. the show makes me rlly happy just watching it, as odd as it sounds. i dont know entirely how to describe it but like, it kinda makes me feel younger, except now in a fem nonbinary not a boy this time kinda way. i really do regret not watching this show ive been interested in for like, forever, just because of gender.

cant forget all of the fan content ive watched and such during my watch through of the show. i genuinely dont get why so many people find the fandom so weird, theres just so many awesome fan songs and animations and fanart, etc.

Im in my 3rd year of highschool, I'm 19 years old, long hair, ace, nothing going for myself, not exactly bullied, not exactly popular, just Invisible most of the time, sitting alone and watching the masses, Im not a fan of school either, math can suck ass, and everything else is annoying, for years I look upon the popular seniors, all so hot, all so popular, when ever I was noticed, they would talk to me , they are so kind, the jocks in the group are nice to, although they are very horny, since I'm older, I never played sports, I was a protected child, but I always fantasize about playing football, to be a jock, iv loved the look of muscles, cleats, beer, iv jacked off to many pictures, to fuel my insecurities, maybe one day I could fit in, oh how I wish to be one of them

I said this under my breath, just so I could hear it, to calm me , I sigh and go back to listening to music to wait for my next clas

Without me knowing it, one of the jocks (Jason) ended up vaguely hearing me from close by, mostly the part about I wish I could be a jock, muscles , beer...,

He has a blank but grinning smirk, he gathers his other jock bros and rushes to coach, coach is an eccentric man, large muscles and gym lesson workouts that leave the students in pain for days.

Jason tells coach about what he heard , coach has a evil grin with his hand rubbing together,

While I wait for my next class, listening to music, I see Jason and his buddies come up to me, I'm kinda shocked and happy someone acknowledged me, wonder what they want

I FINISHED SEASON 2 OF VOLTRON

OKAY SO SO SO that was a WILD season and the showdown in the last 2 episodes? it was so dramatic and deserved. Really interesting to see the mages(?) get more screentime (though barely) because they are so funky. what are they doing why are they there. but anyways like last time I'lll put the rest below xD

BACK ABOUT THE MAGES. I don't remember their names but the head mage gives off "puppeteering-everything-from-the-background" vibes. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be the real mastermind behind it all. Like if the magic was used to corrupt some minds and help build the empire. Although I don't know what that would do to the world building?

Shiro. WHERE DID SHIRO GO. Like they went HARD on Shiro this season. He's trying his best but life keeps attacking him. The mind battles he has are super cool and WOW this man can fight. but also Shiro do you ever sleep. does he sleep. does he believe in self care. I don't think he's ever heard of sleep before.

Pidge gives off some of the vibes of Haruhi from OHHC. They both have similar genders. Love how she gets time to shine at the tech planet!

Also how he speaks sometimes makes me think that he's not from the same planet Allura is? Like maybe he's from a sister planet of a species that evolved extremely similar but not identical. red lion going feral is cool. Love how it has a stronger personality compared to the others, but it makes the other lions seem less powerful? not powerful perse but more so they get almost kidnapped a lot more and don't really do anything about it while the red lion will fight for its own freedom.

Anyways I think it's both, Sam definitely has a thing for power and control. That is fairly obvious when you know of his plan with Q to control the entire server through the bank, his weird violent fantasies involving c!dream and also the extreme way in which he demands every single person to follow the rules he set regarding the prison without questioning his authority.

But c!dream is also the perfect person for him to control. c!Dream was generally regarded by the server as two things when he was imprisoned: an evil & irredeemable villain, and an incredibly capable PVPer and one of the 2 most powerful people on the server.

Then Sam was placed in a position of complete power over Dream with zero surveillance by other people.

I don't think its that crazy to believe Sam got a rush of power and satisfaction every time he made the powerful Dream obey him, made him kneel and listen to his every word or else.

The second factor in his attraction is that with c!dream he has no reason to question his actions and morals when he's behaving in this controlling way. This is because of c!dreams reputation: he is a villain, he is a threat, so in c!Sam's mind he deserves anything c!Sam does to him and he can freely exercise all the power he has over him with no moral qualms.

This is something that he didn't have with c!Ponk; he still feels guilty over ruining his relationship with them by cutting off their arm.

So c!Dream is the only person he doesn't feel that guilt with! In fact he can freely fantasize about torturing him and killing him and kissing him and making him submit and whatever else he wants because c!Dream had it coming! ^_^ so that probably worsens his sexual attraction as well because he's kind of a freak and also very mentally ill 👍

But if I had to answer seriously, I think he technically has more than enough reasons to decide to kill him. This is the man that purposely let him die and manipulated him into joining his country. When he met c!Dream he also learned about the torture, so he knows why c!Dream wants him dead. Knowing this might also make him less opposed to help with that murder.

However, none of those things are the actual main reason why he's considering this deal with c!Dream: he needs someone to die so XD can regain his power. This way he can continue with his plan of becoming an all powerful deity on the same level or even above DreamXD. Which... really isn't the most noble of goals per se :p

So would I say he's justified? Eh. Probably not. But I encourage him to girlboss it up anyways woooo!!!

It works very much like illusions. Ranbob can see him but can't touch him. While Dream can touch him (though it feel like more of a faint touch). The entire time Ranbob feels like he's dreaming but due to physical evidence, like notes left by Dream, he knows it isn't a dream. He's just kinda existing. But in actuality he's not completely "there", sometimes he is aware of what's going on (though he never remembers more often than not) but that's when Dream allows it, other than that he's either floating aimlessly in the void or dreaming. Not aware of what's happening. 

Definitely, Enderman tend to be 7 ft+. Infact when traveling and Enderman spot Ranbob, they always voice their worry about him being so short. They know he's a hybrid so he was always going to be shorter than them, but he shouldn't have been this short. His growth is permanently stunted. Its a miracle he even got those 2 inches to be honest. Ran was definitely caught off guard seeing Ranbob so short. But quickly dismissed it in favor of attacking him. But later on as time passes, he can't dismiss the unease and concern he gets when he thinks about the difference so easily as he did eailer. The Gladiators notice right away but don't comment on it, the Fishermen think Ranbobs height is normal so when they meet Ran and learn Enderman hybrids typically grow that big and bigger their caught off guard, Cletus and Charles attempt to question Ran what its like to be so tall but Benjamin stops them. 

He did, the Dream Mask has a small bit of it broken off due to it being dropped (Ranbob didn't break it. He suspects maybe when it was being transferred it got dropped in its holding box and thats what broke it). Ranbob picked it up because he meant to throw it away, but he forgot too. Giving Dream more time to get a hold on him. They talked about whatever came to mind at first since Benjamin didn't want to start off with the rough questions. But eventually the two did start to talk about what happened to Ranbob and who/what Dream was.

Dream does not consider it important enough because he thinks he's never going back there. So it falls into disrepair and gets all dusty with some mold even growing in the room. 

Dreams petty and likes being in control of everything. But Dream would just kinda wander, making sure no ones alive. Every now and again he'll get bored and just destroy something. The fishermen explored and read about the history of Mizu while they were there, then after Ranbob attacked them spent most of the time arguing about what to do with him. 

It just leads to Cletus being mean/rude to Ranbob and taking much longer than the others to be comfortable around him. If that's what you mean.

Yes! When it was down to just 4 people left alive in Mizu, Ran stumbled upon the 4th person dead, then it all kind of clicks in his head, as the only other person currently alive is a Council Member, that it has to be his brother. So he rushes off to find the Council Member so they can stop Ranbob, only to find Ranbob standing over his dead corpse. Thats when the chase around Mizu ticks off that ends with Ran fleeing Mizu. 

Cause while spiders are passive in daytime, creepers aren't, and don't burn in the light. Plus they are loud with their explodes (yet oddly quiet) which can give his position away.

Eh I'll say. Their not really super common because mixing them can cause serious side effects during and after mixture. But the healing, sleep aids, and infection mixtures are common as they've been figured out and can safely be made. Fun fact: Subbin actually has an entire community and an official place in the government for figuring out potion mixtures, making new ones, and making the mixing process as safe as possible. 

The group doesn't really use the mixtures much, expect for Rans sleep aid and a every now and again healing mixture when a Pit match goes wrong. Cause Grievous used to intern in a potion shop and learned all about them then.

Because he was a Technoblade follower, and they typically get taught the bare basics of surviving in environments like the Nether, deserts, snow, caves, etc in their teachings. He got da book from his Idol teachers, everyone in his Idol group got a book as well.

There's gold coins (I forget the actual in-game name oop) ore deposits in the Nether, so he mines that. Not any specific ones, cause there is still a language barrier and a mostly gesture barrier (expect for the universal ones like wait, ok/good, no harm, etc). 

They made a group decision to try to check the Nether on a whim. Though mostly cause one guy just wouldn't shut up about it. They found a broken portal and managed to repair it enough to enter.

The Fishermen and Ranbob where kinda confused (cause Ran hadn't fully told them about his time on the run.) But expressed sympathy at his house being burned down. Jackie and Grievous wanted to search it for anything usable, Ran didn't let em cause he thinks there's nothing left. Watson shoots Ran a sympathetic look and declared that he wants to keep moving to find shelter. Benjamin quickly agreeing and the group moves on.

He does not expect in all of their times he's still the God of the world. 

Honestly, most of them were fine. Bad was the only one who was mad and wasn't ok with it. The Masquerade, The Pit, Sam, Sapnap, Quackity, Foolish, Ranboo, Skeppy, Tubbo, Tommy, and Karl all say the Egg wrote it because they all have had experience with the Egg. The Haunted Mansion, The Wild West, George, Fundy, Eret, Jack, Niki, and Puffy all say XD because they've either had no experience with the Egg or believe in XD's existence. Philza and Technoblade actually go both ways. (If I forgot someone, oops). 

Technoblade, Phil, Niki, The Pit, The Wild West, Puffy, Sapnap, and Sam are all on the Frontline. While the others are all split between research into the egg (The Masquerade is in this one of course), and running tests. Fundy is a runner, delivering orders, requests, or new information. Foolish is on both the researching, testing, and frontlines, he is on the frontlines when needed but otherwise is researching and testing. Karl is typically somewhere with one of the many Traveler groups. Quackity, Eret, and Sam (when not on frontlines) are on planning duties. 

The Egg is strong enough to propose a real and constant threat to the groups. Everyone is typically on the move to avoid the reaching of the Egg and its Eggpire. 

Bad hasn't gotten what he wants, which is Skeppy. And as he has "opened his eyes" a bit he sees the hypocrisy, manipulation, and lies that surround the Egg and wants out.

The fishermen get to their home, wake up the next day, and Ranbob is already making a field for wheat and potatoes. Benjamin fucking squawks and races out to make Ranbob stop. And Isaac eventually has to come out and help cause Ranbob is refusing to leave. Cletus laughs at Ranbob and makes fun of him but stops when he sees Charles sadly staring at him. A silent ask to stop. 

He does but Porkius is chill and let's the Gladiators do whatever they want as long as they are still in fighting condition for matches and gives them money every week. Plus he's chill and is kinda friends with them. But sometimes Porkius has them go to extravagant parties with him. They all hate going, not just Ran. Mostly cause the rich people are snobs and either 1. Constantly insult them in conversation than act surprised when they get mad at them and report it to Porkius. 2. Talk with them but talk exclusively about themselves and are insensitive to the Gladiators. But sometimes there's actually people at the parties who are genuinely curious and kind and want to get to know the Gladiators. Those conversations are pleasant and the Gladiators, no matter who it is, actively enjoy the conversation.

Ran has always been mischievous. Even witnessing murder, being traumatized, hunted constantly, and fighting non-stop hasn't changed that. If anything he got more mischievous over time. 

Something extra I wanted to share: 

-There is music in world and the player the Gladiators share get brought on the trip so they can play music the entire time. 

  -Ran and Grievous fight over who gets to pick music often.

    -Fun fact about why I did this: Every single part of this story and all others has been either created by or inspired by music. For example the Tip of The Iceberg AU was solely inspired by the song True North (by Vocal Line), while Brothers AU was made from Ruler of Everything (by Tally Hall) and partly Mind Electric (by Miracle Musical). So I wanted to include music somehow. (I actually have a entire playlist with music that I've used for certain parts of the Brothers AU.)

In Shippuden, they have only three scenes together ; when Naruto came back, the pain attack and the neji death scene. That's it. In the original Naruto, they probably have less than ten canon scenes not including fillers.

So I'm sorry I'm one of those who wasn't convinced by The Last. They literally had a basic villain go after Hinata who was cringe btw (the villain). They gave Hinata op powers which she doesn't have in the novel 👀. Despite having op powers, they made her the damsel in distress. Very "The hero saves the princess" cliche. Again, to justify them being together. I mean Naruto can't differentiate his love for ramen and romantic love so how??? He was just being nice to Hinata just like he does to everyone. He stood up for her just like he does for everyone.

Don't get me started on the Sakura Sasuke relationship 🤣. Cringe. They never knew each other. The whole Sakura's love for Sasuke saved him doesn't make sense. They spent barely a year in their genin year before sasuke left. Sasuke tried to kill Naruto and Sakura multiple times. Then at the end of the war, Kishimoto tried to do the "oh they have such a deep understanding between each other" which comes off as cringey. He gets her pregnant then leaves for years. She's literally a single mom who's broke.

Every relationship in Naruto is so cringey and forced except shikatemari. Kishimoto should've focused on the main story and fixed his potholes and leave the ending open.

Naruto would not have been perfect but at least it would've been remembered for staying true to its vision but instead it's remembered for cringey relationships, dumbass villain (except pain and madara) and a story that lost its core which is a shame coz I used to love Naruto. I was inspired by its messages but now....

no but SERIOUSLY... so glad to have the rest of the team back. They really do make EVERYTHING better. Taichi and Yamato, yeah they’re cool, I love them, but they just don’t carry the show by themselves. And in a similar vein, the rest of the team needs Taichi and Yamato too. Otherwise they have no reason to be all dramatic and show off their cool sides.

ok back to business... last week we left off with the team finally reuniting and bringing Hikari along. For some reason the two groups both decide to stand in a straight line like two baseball teams about to shake hands. Leomon’s team still looks fricking ridiculous

Sooo jury’s out on how Taichi’s gonna react to Hikari! Yamato’s been so chill with having Takeru around, I started to wonder if we’re gonna see super over protective big bro Taichi instead this time! But for the most part he’s just surprised that she’s not surprised by the Digimon.

Hikari is creepy. lol. She’s very much the “cute little sister” type and this episode, at least, we didn’t see any kind of initiative from her, which is to be expected, I mean give the kid some time to adjust. We don’t see a lot of personality though either... I guess we can say she likes cute things, and she’s pretty darn calm... I don’t really like her voice though. It’s a perfectly fine little girl voice, but she always sounds like she’s about to doze off...

Getting all split up like this made me think they were gonna end up split up for reals, but the team manages to stay together for now.

it amuses me that he could only bring himself to say “Yagami” for a good while in the beginning but then he finally started saying “Taichi” and now he just can’t stop!!

Anyway he’s alerting the others to the fact that some? of the spikes on the island are actually Tortomon about to attack them. Before going to join Greymon’s attack, Taichi flings Hikari at Koushirou “HERE PROTECT MY SISTER SINCE YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO”

jk but seriously... why does Taichi need to be all up in the action? Until now I thought it was something they all had to do to help their partners, because they usually ride on them during battle, but this episode seemed to suggest that Taichi goes out of his way to do it even more than is maybe necessary. Which doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, but xD

The Agumon/Gabumon bromance is honestly one of the best things about this season. Not that we get a ton of it, but when we do we do I always feel like “yes, that’s Digimon, that’s it right there”

The Digimon rev up to face off with their cannibal and Groundramon quickly decides Ikakkakumon looks the most nutritious. He probably has lots of blubber and meat on him so I guess I’d go for Ikkakumon first too

no but okay what even IS this moment. The episode goes out of its way to show us Yamato reacting to Taichi not giving up. This is a Thing. I don’t know what he’s feeling here - impressed? Happy that Taichi’s able to bring everyone together when they’re feeling defeated? Or is he also recalling how that same desire to never fail almost got him killed and his partner transformed into an evil evolution a few episodes ago?

So like I keep saying I don’t see why we had to split up the team for so long, and for now I stand by that. But one thing’s clear: the show wanted only Yamato around to witness what happened to Taichi. (I mean, Takeru was there too, but he’s a baby xP) And even Yamato doesn’t know everything - we don’t know how much he was actually conscious for. But I feel like, if there was any point to the separation at all, that was it. I hope so anyway. I like the idea of Yamato grappling with how to know when Taichi’s going too far while at the same time really valuing the way Taichi’s able to push them to victory.

I honestly... expected Darknightmon to be interested in Hikari instead of Takeru xP It was a little too predictable so I was glad when he seems to go right for Takeru and Patamon after all.

Patamon, who’s recent hobby has been watching musicals, begins to sing:

Honestly... as a fan of 99 Adventure, Angemon there was SUCH a dramatic thing and... this isn’t. I know, I know, it’s a different show, we do things different in 2020... I just remember the excitement I felt about Angemon’s first apperance though. But, to be fair, although it takes a long time before his second appearance, once it happens Patamon always evolves to Angemon without all the fanfare and it’s just a normal evolution. So... yeah, this all makes sense xP

So I guess I wasn’t that off about the team splitting up again, I was just wrong about when... next week it looks like they’ll be separated, which, although we just got everyone back together, I’m not upset about as long as each group gets focus. Now that they’re back in the digital world, there’s potential for stuff to happen. But it depends on the groups as well. I do sort of expect this is mainly a “put Taichi and Hikari” on their own maneuver.

Now, you’ve had a major crush on Rikkai’s trickster since your second year when he pranked the entire class by filling balloons with 90% helium and 10% pudding, then rigging it them to pop as soon as the teacher stood behind her desk. How he managed this and how no one noticed was completely beyond you. It just made the prank seem all the more magical and impressive. Granted, he was in detention for most of the year after that but, in his opinion, it was totally worth and he would definitely do it again.

After suffering from this crush for so long, you decided that you wanted it to be more than just a crush. You wanted your feelings to grow and blossom into something beautiful. You wanted to fall in love with him. You wanted to date him. But there’s a problem with this desire of yours.

Niou Masaharu is an enigma.

He just doesn’t talk about himself at all, lest his enemies find dirt to use against him, and in doing so, he keeps people at arm’s length – both friend and foe. You had approached the regulars before with some false story about writing a paper on the trickster, but they had nothing to offer aside from his tennis stats. They didn’t even know where he lived! You suspected the Yanagi, the man with information on everyone, had to know something but he denied this every time you asked.

You were determined to break through his barriers no matter what it took – your feelings were on the line, after all!

So, when school finally came to a close, you jumped up from your seat and rushed over to his desk, catching him just as he stood up. You smiled brightly, clasping your hands behind you. “Niou-kun, what do you say to seeing a movie after practice today? We can each pick our favorite one!”

“Puri~” he smirked, slinging his bag over his shoulder. “We have a tournament coming up, so we’ll be practicing well into the night, Y/N-chan.”

“Oh right,” you gently knocked the side of your skull with your fist. “Silly me, I forgot. Some other time then?”

“Puri~”

You watched as he left the room, a groan passing your lips. ‘This isn’t going to be easy at all… but I won’t give up!’

“Niou-kun!” You called out as you entered the school, dragging your friend, Suki, with you. She didn’t look happy, mostly because you had woken her up earlier than usual so she could assist you with your fishing adventure. “Good morning,”

His lips tugged up as he glanced at the two of you. “Mornin’~”

“Would you mind settling a debate for us?” You wondered, motioning between yourself and Suki, who stifled a yawn in response. “See, Suki loves the heat, so she wants to spend summer break at the beach sunbathing. I love the cold, so I’d much rather go to the ice rink. We started fighting over it, so now we’re asking all of our friends which they prefer – the heat or the cold.”

“Puri~”

You sweatdropped, squeezing Suki’s arm tighter. “So, um, which do you prefer?”

Niou pulled a serious face as he rested one hand on your shoulder and the other on Suki’s. “Friends shouldn’t fight over trivial matters. Just go ice skating at the beach~”

You were left speechless, eye twitching as you watched the silver-haired male continue on his way to the school building, getting lost in the throng of students. Suki snorted loudly, clutching her stomach.

“Oh my god, that guy’s great!”

You pouted at her.

For your social studies class, the teacher prompted all of you to reach out to a friend or family member and learn about their hobbies – why they enjoy it, how they came to try it, etc. – and then write a report on your findings. Naturally, you immediately chose Niou as the subject of your report, but the challenge was still to come. You knew if you asked, he would retort with information about tennis. Still, you have to at least try.

Once class ended, you grabbed a small notebook and pencil from your bag and approached the trickster, sliding into the desk in front of him. “Ne, Niou-kun, can I do my report on you?”

“Sure,” he grinned, leaning forward on the desk. His teal eyes sparkled with mischief.

You smiled. “Well, I know how much you love tennis, but what about your other hobbies? What do you enjoy?”

“Tennis,” Niou’s lips twitched upward when you frowned. “And pranks~”

“I don’t think pranks count as a hobby… and I know you enjoy tennis, but surely you must enjoy something else? Darts, maybe? Solitaire? Reading? Skateboarding? Drawing?” You were feeling a bit desperate. “You gotta give me something or I’ll fail the assignment!”

He hummed thoughtfully, tapping his chin. “Okay,”

You brightened up, thinking he was going to finally tell you something about himself.

“I enjoy -” he paused for dramatic effect, making you lean forward. He chuckled, poking your forehead. “One of the things you listed, but you have to figure out which one, puri~”

“Eh~?” You leaned back, watching him stand up and gather his things. “Wait a minute -!”

“Good luck, Y/N-chan~”

You groaned, leaning your head back onto the desk behind you. Yagyuu’s face appeared above you and he held his glasses up in the center. “Is there a problem, Y/N-san?”

“Yagyuu-kun,” you pouted, sitting up. “You’re his partner, you must know something about him?”

He hummed in thought. “He always gets an A in math class,”

“That’s not helpful at all!”

“Well, I did try. Good luck, Y/N-san.” And he walked away.

You stifled a yawn as you stepped into the school building on Monday morning, stopping at the shoe locker to switch to your indoor shoes. When you pulled the door open, a small slip of paper slid out, falling to the floor. Blinking, you glanced back and forth, but no one was paying you any mind. You bent down and picked it up, carefully unfolding it. The words were clean and neat and, for a moment, you thought they might be typed out because of how… perfect they were. It read as follows:

‘Dear Y/N-san,

I’ve recently come into some information that may be of interest to you. After school comes to a close, I encourage you to follow Niou as he makes a most curious stop before heading to practice.

All the best,

A friend.’

Your eyes narrowed suspiciously at the note. Was this a prank? You hadn’t exactly been subtle in your attempts to try and learn more information about Niou, so anyone could have written this in an attempt to mess with you. Still… you hadn’t made any progress on your own, so what could it hurt to check into this lead? You decided to give it a shot.

The day moved by at an agonizingly slow pace, but that was probably because you kept glancing at the clock every two seconds, just waiting for the final bell to toll. You already had your bag packed up as the final thirty minutes of class approached, something the teacher did not appreciate it, but he didn’t waste his breath on scolding you. It was the end of the day, and it had been a long weekend for him.

The bell rang out throughout the school and your grip on the bag tightened as you watched Niou pack up his books and sling his tennis bag over his shoulder, lazily leaving the room. You jumped up, nearly tripping when your foot caught on the leg of the desk, but you managed to right yourself and dived between two girls who were leaving the class far too slow for your taste. They cried out, giving you dirty looks, but you ignored them, bursting out into the hall and snapping your head around.

First to the right, and then to the left. You caught a glimpse of silver turning the corner at the end of the hall and you took off, dodging students to the best of your ability. It continued like this for several moments as you tried to chase down the trickster through the school. Finally, you burst through the double doors to the east. You scanned the area behind the school, but the only people out there was the security guard at the gate, and Mr. Iazaki, a second-year math teacher.

There was no sign of Niou Masaharu anywhere.

You cursed, kicking the ground as you headed toward the security officer, an older man that always had a kind smile to offer. “Hello, Shimata-san.”

“Good afternoon, Y/N-chan!” He smiled brightly. “Is something wrong? You seem down.”

“I am,” you answered honestly, rubbing the back of your neck. “Life can be hard sometimes.”

He nodded in understanding. “It can. But you are young and strong. Whatever ails you, you can overcome.”

You offered him a sad smile. “Thank you. May I exit through this gate? I really don’t want to be bothered by the other students right now.”

Shimata hummed, glancing toward the school building. “Well, you know students aren’t permitted to use this gate. It’s for staff only.”

“Yes, sir.”

“But, I suppose one time won’t hurt. You’re a good student, never get into any trouble.” He leaned toward me, narrowing his eyes suspiciously as he reached out, pinching both of your cheeks before pulling.

“Ouch!” you pouted, pulling away and covering both of your cheeks so he wouldn’t do it again. “What was that for?”

He chuckled, offering a sheepish smile. “Sorry, had to make sure you weren’t that darned Niou trying to sneak past me again.”

“Niou-kun?”

He nodded. “I’m not sure why, but he’s been trying to sneak past me for months.”

A thought suddenly popped into your head and you leaned forward, grabbing the man’s arms. “Which way did Iazaki-sensei go? I need to… talk to him about a grade he gave me!”

“But… you’re a third-year…”

“Yes… the grade has been bothering me for a while, sir!”

Shimata sweatdropped, lifting his hand to point to the left. “He went that… way…”

But you were already gone, taking off through the gate and making a hard left, following the stone wall that separated the teacher’s parking lot from the school grounds.

Mrow~

You slid to a stop as you reached the end of the wall. Was that a cat? Stealthily, you approached the corner, peering around. What you saw made your eyes widen and your heart soar with warmth.

Niou was squatting down, holding his hand out to a small orange kitten that was eating something out of his hand. The index finger on his free hand was gently rubbing the cat’s head between its ears and the smile on his lips was genuine and soft. You had never seen Niou smile like that before and your heart skipped more beats than should be possible.

It was something small that you had learned about him, but it filled you with renewed vigor. You wanted to know more about this man.

The next day, you caught up to Niou just as he entered the school grounds, his hand ruffling his silver hair. Seeing him filled you with warmth like it never had before and you just wanted to talk to him, to hear his voice, and be close to him.

“Niou-kun, good morning.” You smiled, falling in step beside him.

He glanced at you and smirked lazily. “Morning, Y/N. Where’s Suki?”

“She has a doctor’s appointment in an hour, so she’s missing school today. Why? Did you need her?”

“Nope~ Just expected to solve another argument between you.”

You huffed, lightly smacking his upper arm. “You make it sound like we’re constantly arguing,”

“Puri~”

Silence fell over the two of you as you followed the ocean of students up to the school building. All this time, you had been dancing around trying to get answers from him by indirectly asking questions or proposing scenarios that might elicit the response you were looking for, but you had yet to just… ask him.

“Niou-kun?”

“Hmm?”

“What is your favorite color?”

He raised a brow, surprised that you had directly asked him. His lips curved up, eyes shining under the fluorescent lights of the hallway. “It’s part of the rainbow,”

You scowled at him. “Why can’t you just give me a straight answer? What are you so afraid of?”

His eyes flashed with emotion, but it was gone as quickly as it came. His smirk dropped, face wiped free of any emotion. “You think I’m afraid just because I won’t tell you my favorite color?” he scoffed.

Okay, that hurt a bit. You shook your head and folded your arms over your chest. “It’s not just the favorite color. You won’t tell me anything about yourself, not even your favorite things or what you spend your time doing. Do you not trust me?”

“Why do you care?” he frowned. “Why are you so obsessed with finding out these things about me?”

‘Obsessed?’, you frowned. ‘Am I obsessed? Oh god, he must think I’m just some crazy fan trying to stalk him…’ The thought broke your heart and you felt the urge to cry rising within you. You took a few, deep breaths to keep yourself calm. “I’ll be honest with you. I’ve had a crush on you since that prank you pulled at the start of our second year. Without realizing it, my feelings have grown, but… how can I bring myself to continue liking someone that can’t even share their favorite color with me? I wanted this to be so much more than just a crush, Niou, but you won’t let me in. I guess I’m just wasting my time.”

You stepped around him, continuing down the hall which had emptied as students filed into their classrooms. Honestly, you just wanted to run to the bathroom and cry, but maybe the teacher’s lecture would distract you. Maybe it would even put you to sleep again and you could forget that this ever happened.

You hadn’t made it far before arms wrapped around your body, pinning your arms to your side and preventing you from continuing forward. Niou rested his chin on your left shoulder and hummed.

“Did you just confess to me, Y/N-chan~?”

‘Crap, I did, didn’t I?’ You remained silent, not trusting your voice.

He chuckled, his warm breath fanning over your neck. “It’s about time~”

“Heh?”

His arms tightened around you. “You took forever to confess. I was beginning to wonder if you were going to give up.”

You stared at the linoleum floor blankly as the pieces clicked together in your brain. “Wait a minute… did you… did you brush off all my questions to try and get me to confess to you?”

“Puri~”

“You – I – ugh! You’re so frustrating!” You scowled, trying to pull yourself free from his grip. He obliged, releasing you and you turned around, hands on your hips as you met his insufferable smirk. “You’re such a jerk!”

“But I’m a jerk you like~” He grabbed your hand, lacing his fingers with your own before leaning down and lightly pecking your lips. You hated to admit it, but the annoyance you felt slowly dissipated as he tugged you down the hall toward class.

You smiled, gently squeezing his hand. “Niou Masaharu, you’re a total jerk but… you’re my jerk.”

“Blue,” he responded, sending you a soft, genuine smile – much like the one he had given to the kitten but filled with more love and warmth.

“Blue?” you repeated, glancing at him curiously.

“My favorite color. Make sure you remember it,”

“I will!” You laughed.
