i don’t know much about the other knight who helped him and that’s probably because atreyus doesn’t know much about him either. i do know the man is older than him, and has black hair. atreyus has seen him without his helmet but it was before this encounter and he never saw him without his helmet after that even though they stayed close by each other’s sides after the war.

i think the other knight not removing his own helmet is symbolic of the idea of detachment. he knows that they both will not be able to survive in the real world if they learn of each other more so in creating that barrier there’s a false sense of being able to keep them from being attached to one another. it doesn’t work—for neither atreyus nor for the other knight but they can pretend lmao.

atreyus does get married to lucasta after the war but as mentioned he is very distant. he loves her still, and cherishes her, but it’s the whole thing where ptsd can change you and he’s no longer the innocent man he once was. he took the war hard, as many do. he very much longs to be with the other knight and has even entertained going off on his own in the middle of the night to find the other man but… he doesn’t know anything about him so he couldn’t find him even if he wanted to. it’s a bitter feeling.

lucasta and atreyus have five children after the war. one dies young and lucasta cries but atreyus is impasse. he’s buried so many dead that even the sting of his own child doesn’t burn.

there are times where he does go out into the forest near his hometown, find a good rock and just sit on it. he’ll touch the scar under his arm, the only memory he has of the knight and it’s the only time he allows himself to cry.

i’m terms of the knight himself (the nameless one) unlike atreyus he doesn’t have anyone to return home to and spends a lot of his time wandering between village to village. the war made him restless and terrors keep him awake at night. i think it’d be an interesting occupation for him if he was a “dog to sheep” —basically he watches over a flock at night and takes out any predators if they should try to kill any of the herd.

he also thinks of atreyus often but it’s more of a subdued yearning versus the way atreyus is broken up about it.

It seemed weird having these feelings for Zelda—his childhood friend—no less. He guesses that they’ve always been there in one form or another. Being with Zelda just felt right to him, like it was his destiny to be the one allowed to marry her.

But none of that can happen if Link never confesses his feelings towards her.

Link was able to make it through most of the day without running into Groose, thankfully. When it came time for the Wing Ceremony, Groose and his underlings were already there, chatting amongst themselves. It didn’t take long for the redheaded bully to notice Link’s appearance, however. “You ready to lose, pretty boy?” Groose taunts, walking over to where Link was standing. “I’d hate to be you after the race! Standing around sulking since Zelda’s with me on the Goddess statue, alone and having a special moment with me instead of you. You better get it through that thick, ugly head of yours, Link!” he sneers. “Don’t think your crush on her is any secret ‘round here, Link! Everyone knows about how you fell in love with your ‘childhood friend’,” Groose made finger quotes for emphasis, “It’s so cute that you think someone that out of your league could ever fall for you, even if you did grow up together. We all know that your precious Zelda’s gonna be on my arm, never giving you a goddamn second thought!”

That was all it took for Link to snap and smack Groose straight across his face. It left a red handprint on his cheek, the color rivaling his hair. Groose brought a hand up to his pinkened cheek in shock; Link’s never hit anything—or anyone for that matter—before! “Keep your mouth shut before you lose the ability to open it again. You’re not the one that dictates who she can or can’t have feelings for. Zelda’s plenty capable of deciding for herself. She needs no help from the likes of your sorry ass.” Groose was about to fling his fist at him but was rudely interrupted by Zelda and Owlan’s timely arrival.

She ran to Link, ignoring everyone else, excitedly taking his hands in hers. She was close enough that their foreheads could touch, their noses bumping against each other sometimes. A sweet smile adorned her pretty face, causing her blue eyes to shine even more than they already are. “Sorry I’m late, Link. It took a bit longer than expected to finish your—I mean—the gift for the ceremony. I didn’t want to miss watching you race.” Having Zelda so close to him made Link’s heart beat faster, his face flushing slightly too.

Link rests his forehead against hers, lovingly gazing down at her, taking in all of Zelda’s beauty. Her soft golden hair flows down her slim shoulders, stopping at the small of her back. It framed her face perfectly, extenuating just how flawless she was. How did Link ever manage to get so lucky? “It’s okay, princess. All that matters is you’re here now.” Link manages to shimmy his hands out of her grip, setting them on her waist instead. His thumbs quickly found a place to rub circles into her hips, subsequently pulling the pair closer together. She didn’t complain, simply wrapping her arms around Link’s shoulders. “I’ll make sure to win for you. Can’t let my gift go to someone else,” he teases her with a playful smirk.

“You’ll win, I’m sure of it,” Zelda reassures him before pecking his cheek innocently. She plays with the golden-brown hair at the base of Link’s neck, slipping it in between her fingers. It sent shivers down his spine, the blush dusting his cheeks deepening. The bell tower started to ring, harshly interrupting their supposedly platonic conversation and announcing the start of the race. “That’s our queue, Link. See you on the statue later?” she asks, pulling away from Link’s grasp.

Link was hesitant to let her go, but he knew he had to. Every moment with her in his arms felt like they were the only two people in the world who mattered. But to Link, Zelda truly is the only person who matters. “Of course you will, princess.” He watched her walk away until he couldn’t see her anymore, a look of pure love plastered all over his face. The spot where Zelda kissed his cheek tingles. It’s official: Link’s never washing that cheek ever again for as long as he lives.

The race lasted not even thirty minutes, Link crossing the finish line miles ahead of Groose and his cronies. Groose was whining up a storm, but he congratulated Link on his win since it was part of the rules. With the bird statuette in tow, Link flies to the Goddess statue, where Zelda is waiting for him. He’s quick to bring her into a big hug once he lands, relishing in how Zelda’s head nestles perfectly into the crook of his neck. “I told you I’d win, princess,” he whispers, pushing a stray hair back behind her ear. But in all honesty, it was just an excuse to touch her face.

Zelda’s small hands clenched the fabric of his shirt, pulling him impossibly closer. “You flew so well, Link. I’m so proud of you.” Hearing her say she was proud of him causes Link to tighten his grip on her, the gentle embrace morphing into a bear hug. “I’m so proud of my Chosen Hero.” Zelda kisses his cheek again. “Regardless if you had won today or not, you’ve always been—and always will be—my one and only hero.”

“And the Chosen Hero will always and forever love his Princess.” Link rests his forehead against Zelda’s like before. His free hand squeezes her small waist, the other cupping Zelda’s face, his thumb stroking her cheekbone. The amount of udder adoration Link has for her is immeasurable. How was it possible for one girl to be so goddamn beautiful?

She giggles softly, leaning into his warm hand. “I’m not a princess, Linky. You’re the Chosen Hero, and I’m s’possed to be the Goddess.” A blush quickly settled across her cheeks, the color matching her dress nicely. She met Link’s gaze, smiling at how blatantly flustered he was. It was cute seeing him trying not to trip over his words.

“I’m not talking to the Goddess right now, Zelda.” Now she knew he was serious; Link next to never uses her given name; it’ always was a nickname from him. “I’m talking to you.” Link’s boots slotted themselves between Zelda’s fuzzy ones, the air around them growing tenser the closer they got to each other. “You’ve always been my princess; I’ve called you that since we were kids. At first, it was just ‘cause I had a hard time saying Zelda,” he chuckles, eyes fluttering over her face nervously. The tip of Link’s nose brushed against hers, making Zelda giggle again. “But now, I’ve been thinking about how a princess eventually needs to find her prince,” Link cranes his head back, anxiously running a hand through his hair. It didn’t take long for it to return to Zelda’s cheek, though.

She presses her palm against his chest, grounding Link back in reality and pushing any anxiety left out of his body. “It’s okay, whatever it is, you can tell me. I love you; you’re my best friend. You can share everything and anything with me; I won’t judge you.”

‘You’re my best friend.’

It rang through Link’s head just like the bell tower does, but worse. The moment the words came off Zelda’s lips, a gut-wrenching pain blooms in his chest as if someone were stabbing from the inside. He doesn’t want only to be her best friend; he wants to be her prince. Link wants to be the person to make the nickname complete. Will she not want to be his friend anymore after he tells her? Will she think he’s weird for harboring these feelings? Link panicked, taking his hand away from Zelda’s face before speaking. “I slapped Groose before the race today. He kept talking shit about you, about how he was gonna be the one up here with you. He kept talking about you like you’re some fucking object to be won, then kept on a shelf somewhere and admired from afar. So I smacked him.”

Zelda gasps, a look of pure shock plastered on her face. “Link! Language! You don’t curse, much less in front of the Goddess! And secondly, you hit Groose?! You don’t hit people; you’ve never hit anything! Sure, he gets on my nerves too, but there’s never a situation that can’t be fixed with communication!”

“Well, what am I supposed to do when he’s mocking me?! All I’ve ever done is stand there and take his grief, but hearing him talk about how I don’t deserve you made me lose it, okay?!” Link backs away from her in an attempt to not scream directly in her face. Fear washes over him, and suddenly, he wants to be anywhere but here. They’ve never fought before. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Zelda, please forgive me!” Link’s voice cracks at the end of his plea, tears welling up in his eyes. Balled fists came up to wipe them away aggressively. “What am I supposed to do when all he talks about is how my feelings for you don’t matter?” It was barely a whisper; if the wind was any louder, Zelda would’ve missed it completely.

Throughout the entirety of their friendship, Zelda has never seen Link cry. Not once. Link skinned his knee on the pavement once when they were eight and didn’t shed a tear, nor when he fell down the stairs when he was ten. But this was what made him cry? It seemed odd, Groose being the catalyst for Link’s bottled-up emotions to finally be released. Why would Link ever think his feelings towards her didn’t matter? She’s quick to pull him in a warm hug, rubbing his back soothingly. “Link, sweetheart, your feelings always matter! Why would you ever let Groose of all people convince you they didn’t?”

Link buries his face in her soft hair, breathing in the scent of her coconut shampoo. “He kept tellin’ me you’re out of my league. That no one this beautiful could ever like me,” he mumbles, arms wrapped tightly around her. “Hey, princess?”

“Hm?”

It took all of Link’s courage to swallow the lump in his throat. He prays to Hylia that this doesn’t fuck everything up. “I want to be the person lucky enough to marry and grow old with you. I want to be more than just your best friend. I want to show the whole world that you’re mine and I’m yours,” he met her eyes again, “Can I be your prince?” Link watches as the gears turn in her head, processing everything he told her.

Without hesitation, Zelda yanks him down by his shirt collar, stealing his first kiss. Her hands tangle themselves in his hair, keeping Link from pulling away. Not like he wanted to. After the initial shock passes, he kisses her back eagerly. His fingers worm their way into her hair, holding the back of her head as she did to him. Link pushes her against the cold ornate wall of the statue, careful not to hurt her.

“Link—!” she gasps against his mouth, giving Link the perfect opportunity to make out with her. “Link—! Hold on a minute!” Link stops immediately, not daring to overstep her boundaries. “You want to be my prince? You’re not messing with me, right?”

He nods. “I’m in love with you, Princess. Always have been.”

She kisses him again, but softer this time. “I love you too, Link,” she giggles, “Who would’ve thought that my Hero would also be my prince?” Zelda kisses all over Link’s face, pulling a happy giggle from him too. “Were you worried that I’d end up marrying Groose?”

Link nods bashfully, rubbing the back of his neck with his palm. “I was worried that you’d think my feelings for you were weird or somethin’, ‘cause we’re best friends and all. I didn’t want to ruin what we had by confessing how I felt.” Now it was Link’s turn to lean down and kiss her. It wasn’t nearly as hungry as the first one, instead gentle and loving. Their noses brush against each other, causing them both to laugh. “But I’m sure glad I did.”

“Me too. I don’t know how much longer I could keep dropping hints at you, Linky,” Zelda said with a coy smile. “You really had no idea that I felt the same way?”

A dumb look washes over Link’s face. “You were dropping hints?”

Zelda just shook her head with a small laugh and a sigh. “Never change, Linky. You’re too cute for this world.” She leans on the stone behind her, gazing up at him with her big blue eyes. The position made her feel even smaller compared to him than she actually was. The atmosphere surrounding them changed from an innocent one to a heated one. “So…do you wanna continue from where we left off?”

Link nods, pressing himself against her lithe frame. “Mhmm, but there’s one thing I wanna do first if you’ll let me.” He holds her hips, fingers spreading across her sides, fingertips ghosting at her rib cage. “Let me mark you as mine. So you can show the entirety of Skyloft that you’re spoken for.” The moment Link asked, his pointy ears turned a deep shade of red. He squeezes her waist gently, trying his best to express the feelings that refused to form themselves into words. “I’ve heard guys talk about how hot it is seeing their—” he lingers for a moment, “—partner with hickeys covering their necks. Makes me think that if I gave you some, Groose would stop bothering me about it.”

“Hmm, does that mean I’m your girlfriend now, Hero?” she teases, twirling a lock of golden hair between her slim fingers.

The way her head tilts to the side absolutely just tortures Link. There’s enough room to cover her pale skin with marks that’ll take weeks just to start fading away. Link’s desperate to show the world that Zelda is his and his alone. “I’d like you to be my girlfriend. No, I’d really really like it if you were my girlfriend. I could take you out on dates, and we can have a sleepover and stay up late together like we would when we were kids.” A sweet smile graces his features, eyes sparkling with delight. “And maybe I’ll let you win a Loftwing race once in a while, just ‘cause I love you,” Link teases right back at her, drawing a laugh from her again. Oh, how he loves hearing her laugh; it’s everything good in the world all wrapped up in one sound. The heated atmosphere that previously surrounded them was gone now, replaced by an innocent veil once more. Don’t fret; it’ll be back soon enough, at least, that’s what Link hopes will happen.

Zelda nods, kissing his smile-thinned lips over and over again, which just made them both delve into a fit of giggles. “Of course, Linky. I’ve wanted to hear you ask me that for like forever.” Once their laughter dies down, Zelda kisses him properly this time. Link’s nose pressed into her cheek; however, instead of being uncomfortable, Zelda oddly found it rather soothing. The boy’s lips tasted like a mix of vanilla—her chapstick must have rubbed off on him—and the salty leftovers from his sweat. “Don’t you start getting soft on me now that we’re dating, Linky. When I beat you in a race, though, I’ll beat you fair ‘n square. Like how I beat you in dominoes every time.”

He purposefully ignored the dominoes comment, pouting over her being right. He sucks ass at dominoes, but like hell, he’ll never admit to it. “Oh, alright. You run such a hard bargain, Princess,” Link sighs dramatically, rolling his eyes. “What ever shall I do?” he kisses her forehead, right in between her eyebrows.

She giggles at his words with a coy smile, “Oh, I have no idea, Linky! You’re in such a predicament, aren’t you, baby?” Zelda pretends to think, humming audibly. “I know just the thing!” She tilts her head to the side once more, the smirk shedding into a smaller; but more genuine smile. “Maybe if you mark me some, I’ll stop running such a hard bargain, hm? How’s that sound, Chosen Hero?”

“Sounds amazing,” Link says, wasting no time in burying his head in the crook of Zelda’s neck. He litters soft kisses along her throat before sucking deep hickeys into the crook of her shoulder. They blossom into red and purple marks along her skin, loudly claiming her for Link. “Mmm, fuck…” he mutters against her. His hands roam

“Link! Language!” Zelda gasps, never hearing him swear before. She threads her fingers through his hair, keeping his head snug against her shoulder. She could feel every mark forming on her skin, each one causing her face to flush harder than it already was. Zelda kisses his ear gently, doing her best to reciprocate the affection in some way. It felt too weird to her, standing there and not giving Link anything in return.

He chuckles, offering an ungenuine apology. “Just can’t help it, Princess.” Link bites behind her ear—not hard enough to hurt—but enough to send a shot of pleasure up her spine. He kisses the spot repeatedly until he sees a red ring of teeth marks starting to form. He steps back to admire his work. The left side of Zelda’s neck was covered in purple and maroon bruises, ranging from small to egregiously huge. How she was going to cover this up later was beyond Link; it was his plan, after all, to make them blatantly obvious. He stares at Zelda like she’s a work of art displayed in a museum and he’s a professor, desperate to analyze every inch of the art in front of him. “Can I do the right side, too? It looks lopsided.”

His gaze was too much for Zelda to hold, her eyes darting about until he spoke. “On-Only a couple, it’ll be hard to cover up the ones I already have,” she says, tilting her head in the opposite direction compared to before.

Link obeys Zelda’s wishes, only leaving around five lasting marks on her. The faint ones would clear up in under a day, so he figures they won’t be an issue. He places a dark hickey behind her ear, by her jawbone, and right above her collarbone. They were in much better hiding spots this time around, luckily enough for Zelda. Hopefully, it’ll be chilly enough to warrant a scarf for the next couple of days. Link gazes down at her again, nothing but love and admiration for her in his eyes. “I love you so much, Zelda. Always have, always will, Princess.”

She giggles softly and gives him a quick kiss on the lips. “I love you too, my Hero. It’s pretty hard not to.”

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?  I try to. I'm not always as immediate as I should be. I like to let readers know I'm seeing their comments and I like chatting with the one's who wanted to say more but needed a nudge lol.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I tend to work in happy endings but I think there's one of the stories in A Tumble In Konoha that is next level angsty. More than one.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written? Not really? I had one story way back when that was a soft Naruto/Bleach crossover but it was more that Naruto had a zanpakuto.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Oh buddy lol. Not on Ao3 that I remember but I have received all sorts of hate on FFN. Like, I've been writing for 16 years, I could tell you horror stories.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? HA! Yes. And all sorts lol. Those mostly happy, funny and/or kinky smut.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yep. Someone stole the first sixteen chapters of my big HP fanfic, I was in the low 20s chapterwise at that point, and someone pointed it out to me. I followed the link but by the time I'd reported them to the domain and was about to directly message them ... everything had gone, their whole account scrubbed.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? I've been asked, but due to having my fics robbed before ... I've never felt comfortable sadly. I'm sure it'd be great and lovely, but I'm too suspicious.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! And it's fun, but the co-author has kinda fallen off of writing and I've moved away from the fandom after a lot of hate.

13. What is your all time favourite ship? NaruSaku. Next lol.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I've actually got pretty good at finishing things I've started now and all the WIPs I have are on going projects that I devote time to semi-regularly. It's more likely that I'll have original work projects that I will never finish. And I have a long list in that case lol.

15. What are your writing strengths? I like to think I'm good at humour, romance and smut. And dialogue has always come easy to me.

16. What are your writing weaknesses? I can really struggle to get started. Once I get going it's like I'm cooking with gas but getting started can sometimes be a big problem. I'm also prone to turn nearly any scene with NaruSaku into smut and that's not always helpful to the narrative.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Eh, if it flows naturally it can work. I do have little things in my canon au's of Naruto where they say Kami instead of god and I'm okay with that. I don't really have strong opinions on it tbh.

What’s your favourite fic you’ve ever written?  The Reluctant Champion for deeply soppy and personal reasons and An Absolutely, Totally Non-Romantic Wedding Date because it typifies my entire take on NaruSaku as characters and a couple. It is always my first rec to anyone who asks which of my works they should start with. It's very fun and I'm immensely proud of it.

How did they first meet? Thousands of years ago in a life and time neither fully remember. It was 503 B.C., the Classical Age, in Greece to be precise, when society continued to advance in multiple fields and the political structure was once again changing. Larissa disguised herself as a man in that time as women had virtually no rights and whose primary responsibility was to have and raise the children. As was required of men, she served a minimum of two years as a soldier, which was when she met Romi. There was a lot of misunderstandings, confusion, surprise, and secrecy as they navigated their budding friendship that turned into a relationship. However, after being cursed, they continue to have “first meetings” that happen periodically throughout time. In their current lifetime, it was a much more mundane meeting compared to some of their past ones. It started with Romi entering the bar that Larissa worked at most nights. Their conversation was superficial and neither remember the exact details of it, but they remember the feelings of deja vu because of the strange vignettes of lives long since past and forgotten in the form of dreams they'd had prior to that moment. They recall the flash of surprise when they saw one another as it was the first time they were finally meeting the person from their dreams.

How did they first meet? Morgan’s first interaction with Nora was when Nora was covered in blood, which definitely triggered her fight or flight instincts, but it sure left one hell of an impression that Morgan will never forget.

Who felt romantic feelings first? Nora? Morgan would’ve felt a physical attraction first and flirted here and there, but not expect anything to come of it.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Both or Morgan did. It would cause some complications at work if anyone found out, but also she would be anxious about Nora trying to psychologically analyze her, which would keep some distance between them at first. That and Morgan hasn’t had the best track record with relationships so she’d rather not get involved.

Who initiated their feelings first? Morgan would’ve initiated things on a physical level, but not emotional and simultaneously think that Nora might reciprocate her feelings, but also not. Nora might have to initiate things on an emotional level.

Do they have any kids? Possibly. Morgan would ask Nora if she wanted any, but she’d be okay with not having them. Their jobs keep them both pretty busy so it’d be difficult to figure out how to raise children while juggling their careers.

How did they first meet? Noah met when Flora introduced them one day when Jia had come over to their house once. Noah thought Jia was cool, but was anxious that Jia would take Flora away from her too when she saw how good of friends they were.

Who felt romantic feelings first? Noah, and it was after Jia and Flora’s falling out, which made it an “Oh shit” moment for Noah. It’s one thing she’s never told Flora about.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Jia maybe? Because the relationship wasn’t meant to last and it was more of a way to get back at Flora, but it ended up continuing on anyway.

Who initiated their feelings first? Jia, but she did so with ulterior motives. Noah was first to do so did with sincerity.

Severin rarely ever feels any romantic connection to others nor typically has an interest in it, and wouldn’t notice their feelings for Marlow until much later. When it’d be obvious to anyone else that there are mutual romantic feelings, Severin would still be oblivious to their own for a while even if they began to realize Marlow’s feelings for them.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Marlow may have, but once Severin acknowledges their feelings for Marlow they would roll with it since it’d feel new to them despite having been in love once before.

They’d only suggest names of other angels just to irritate Marlow. The kid(s) would either have to be adopted or a mix of Marlow’s DNA and someone else’s because Severin can’t have children.

Do they have any pets? Unlikely. Severin’s had a dog before and it was a lot of work to juggle taking care of the dog and liking to be out and about constantly despite the dog being fun. Having a dog would also take a lot of Severin’s attention off Marlow as they’d be preoccupied spending a lot of time with it.

Valdis / Florence

How did they first meet? Valdis was undercover as a dealer at Flora’s casino. She intentionally put in extra effort to be alluring and intriguing to the guests to indirectly get Flora’s attention.

Who felt romantic feelings first? Flora. Valdis would acknowledge that Flora is attractive, but be slow to warm up to her emotionally and be wary of her at first though she’d be quicker to respect and like Flora as a businesswoman.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Both or Valdis because she’s used to having to move around so much despite not wanting to, so she’d rather not have an emotional attachment.

Who initiated their feelings first? Flora? Valdis would be apprehensive, but she could also admit to having feelings first too. Flora was first to act based on attraction though.

Who said “I love you” first? It could go either way. Flora when she admits to wanting Valdis to stay, but knowing it would be selfish when her subordinates oppose Valdis’ presence in the gang. Or Valdis when she chooses for Flora to leave.

What do they like to do together? Share meals together. It always amazes Flora just how much Valdis can consume in a single sitting, especially if she’s transformed recently to fight and/or exercise. Occasionally Valdis will try to take Flora to secluded, outdoorsy spots that she likes when they want to try and find some time to be together without worrying about others being around.

Rather, she’d think it’s cool, but then go back to being mad.

Do they have any kids? Probably not? Valdis has never given it any thought nor particularly cared to be a mother as she’s not sure she’d be a good one, but she could be convinced if Florence really wanted them.

Do they have any pets? No. Valdis would find it weird to own a pet.

Wren / Alisha

How did they first meet? Wren applied to be a resident where Alisha worked and insisted on having Alisha as her mentor after having followed her work for some time prior.

Who felt romantic feelings first? Wren, and oh boy does it make her freak out. She had a panic attack that same night when she realized.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Both, but for different reasons. Alisha because of her condition and Wren because aside from the fact that Alisha is her mentor, she’s also terrified of losing her best friend.

Who initiated their feelings first? Probably Wren while she was drunk.

Who said “I love you” first? Wren while they were arguing about Alisha needing to take better care of herself with regards to her powers and the consequences of using them. When she said it, Wren froze, panicked, and then cried.

Who gets jealous easily? Wren, and she hates it. She tries not to get jealous, but she does and she’ll do her best not to let it show. But she gets pouty when she’s jealous so it’s not hard to tell.

Who is more protective? Both are, but Wren is quicker to lose her temper when it comes to being protective over Alisha.

Who remembers the little things? Alisha...for a while. Wren will get better at it as Alisha gets worse. :)

Since they’re nerds they like talking about healthcare and medicine together, sometimes quizzing one another. They also go to bars, usually Wren’s idea, when they don’t have much time to do anything else that week.

Half of Wren’s family would’ve wished that she’d be with someone with supernatural powers so there’d be a chance if they had kids they would have a higher chance of developing powers of their own. However, Wren never tells her family that Alisha has her own powers, so they all go on believing Alisha is powerless.

Do they have any kids? Not until well into their relationship, if they do. Wren would be anxious about being a mother, she’d be afraid she’d be a bad one, but she’d be excited too.

Do they have any pets? At least one cat, but probably get a second because Wren would worry that if they only had one then it’d get lonely or bored.

I will say the one good thing about them not being canon is that DC cannot break them up for drama since comics writers are allergic to stable relationships.

   How quickly did/will they fall in love? - So my headcanon for Tim is literal as in I literally consider him to be in love with Kon in preboot canon. I don't see that for Kon so I'm open to a lot of interpretations! But like, don't argue with me I'm passionate about my headcanons. I think Tim fell in love gradually without realizing it. At first he was kind of constantly exasperated by Kon even as they became friends, then it became exasperation he couldn't live without as his...I want to say respect but I'm not sure if it's the right word - for Kon grew. Kon became his very best friend first, and that's when the romantic feelings started unnoticed. I'd say he's solidly in love by the time Kon finds out about his Luthor heritage, though Tim definitely doesn't notice. He might start to realize his feelings after Kon died, but it's also a good time to tamp them down and compartmentalize because Kon is dead and why deal with those feelings now. When Kon comes back though... the feelings are going to leak their way out eventually, Tim can't suppress them forever though he might try. He might try his best not to acknowledge them at all or heck, recognize them and then cram them back down. But he's not going to fall out of love with Kon, so good luck with that. Kon I think was vaguely attracted to everyone he met for a while since he was basically a roiling mass of teenage hormones, so he probably thought Robin was hot and annoying. That faded as he re-categorized Tim from "annoying but smoochable" to "friend" but I think that category could easily swing to "best friend but smoochable".

   How was their first kiss? - I think it started out slowly and easily, light kisses and laughter and it was so easy as they fit together, and it wasn't long before they were just lost in each other.

Tim is perfectly capable of following a recipe, he just tends to get distracted during the cooking part because there are at least 10 things he could get done while waiting for that food to brown so Kon had to ban him from cooking after the third time he had to put out the stove with his freezing breath.    Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Tim. They both have a pretty high tolerance for clutter but Kon breaks first because when Tim is headfirst in a case he doesn’t care if he lives in a cave made of Red Bull cans.    Who is really against chores? - Tim thinks it makes a lot more sense for Kon to clean everything because Kon can do it faster.    Who cleans up after the pets? - If Kon wants a pet, Kon has to clean up after it, Tim says like he doesn't also want the pet.    Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Tim    Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Tim only becomes aware of mess when other people are coming over and then he freaks out cleaning.    Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Kon, but it belongs to sugar daddy Tim.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Not often, but Win likes to decorate at least a little for the larger holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas.  Christmas was a special time for her when she was young because her mum would go all out.  Once she gets out of her step-mum’s house she starts bringing that tradition back and eventually Nathan begins to replace his not-so-fond memories of the holiday with new better ones.

What are their goals for the relationship? - To have each other’s backs when no one else does.

~Part 13~

“Wake up, boy.”

Dan groaned, sprawling his body to Phil’s side of the bed.

“Do you want a spanking?” Phil chided, buttoning up his own shirt.

Dan made a sound that was like a whine, but it was muffled into the pillow.

“What was that?” Phil lightly smacked his butt through the blanket.

“No Sir,” Dan grumbled, finally sitting up.

“Hey, at least you don’t actually have to go anywhere,” Phil kissed his forehead, “I wish I could stay home and work here with you.”

“I wish you could stay here with me too,” Dan pouted, looking downright precious as he rubbed his eyes.

Dan dragged himself out of bed to walk Phil to the door. They kissed goodbye and Phil left for work. He opened the blinds and let the morning light warm the home - their home. He was still amused by the spiderman on the cord, and didn’t think he’d ever lose the humour for it.

After their New York trip, Phil had asked him to move in with him. It was harder than he’d thought to part with his simple and empty tiny apartment. He’d still had the mindset that he didn’t deserve what he’d consider high-class living in Phil’s penthouse. He’d never get used to it, he’s a simple guy, he’d thought. But he’d be mad to want to stay in an empty bed alone at night when he could be wrapped in Phil’s warmth instead. About a year later, and he’s settled in great. Phil always told him that he used to keep decorating this place yet it never felt complete, until Dan moved in. Now, Dan added on to their growing knick-knack collection, making this - their - place as whole as it could be.

He got dressed and had a quick breakfast before going to the office room. He’d been so afraid of what the future held once he was ‘laid off’ as Phil’s assistant. But Phil made sure he had nothing to worry about. Phil guided him to find his interests. He’d thought he’d never have passion in anything. He’d viewed himself as a failure ever since he dropped out of university anyway.

Phil was so kind that he broke down and told Phil that Phil didn’t deserve to have a boyfriend this dependent on him. But Phil wanted to take care of him, and Dan had no choice but to learn to embrace being taken care of. 

Dan didn’t have the qualifications to work in the field he liked, so Phil signed him up for a part-time degree. It was easier for Dan to handle after a bad university experience. He liked that half of the course was online and the pace was slower so that he had time to do other things.

Things like getting a job.

Phil had insisted he could help Dan with the tuition fees.

“You’re my boyfriend, not my ATM,” Dan had retorted.

He had quite a sum from his stint as Phil’s assistant to pay off the fees, but he still wanted to be useful and help with his share of the house bills. So he worked whenever Phil was at work too and he didn’t have classes; it was better than staying home alone anyway.

His online class lasted for 3 hours, and though he loved his new course compared to his previous attempt at a degree, school was still school and he wanted nothing but a nap sometimes.

But he stayed at his desk and worked on his assignment instead. He’d asked Phil to help him - make sure he woke up for his lessons, didn’t procrastinate his assignments, studied for his tests. He did not want to fail his second attempt at school. Phil took the role very seriously. Sometimes Dan found it cute how Phil, an accounting graduate, tried to help him with psychology notes. Other times, it was less cute when Phil threatened to spank him or lock his dick for weeks if he didn’t study. But Dan had asked him for such help, and he was glad that he had Phil for some kind of kinky discipline.

Sometimes, he’d procrastinate on purpose just to get that spanking, but he would never tell Phil.

This time though, he made sure he finished his assignment before he had to leave for work.

“Nice to see you’re finally early for once,” Frank said, rather surprised as he took his seat across the table from Phil in the coffee shop.

Phil was already buried in his laptop, preparing the documents he wanted to share with Frank. He huffed at Frank’s comment, but didn’t rebut it. His cup was already half empty, indicating to Frank that he’d left the office and was sitting here for a while before lunchtime already. Surprisingly, it wasn’t caramel macchiato like what Frank would’ve expected Phil to drink.

Frank glanced at the counter, and nothing was surprising anymore.

“Ahh, you got the seasonal special drink from the special barista, did you,” Frank smirked.

Phil rolled his eyes, but he smiled anyway. “He can make you one too.”

Before Frank even ordered, his special coffee came his way.

“On the house,” Dan smiled at Frank, the same way he’s given Frank’s drink every time they came here for lunch or work while his shift was on.

Frank had insisted to pay lots of times, but to Dan, no amount of free coffee could ever repay how Frank had helped him and Phil back in New York.

“It’s the least I can do,” Dan would always answer as he refused payment.

“I was only being a snoopy busybody,” Frank had moped the first time, as he put his card back into his wallet. These days, he’d cheekily offer to pay just to see Dan get annoyed about how it’s the hundredth time I’m telling you, Frank, you don’t have to!

“Thanks, love,” Phil replied before Frank could this time, “see you at home later tonight.”

Dan all but beamed at him. Who would’ve known he’d end up here, happier than he could ever remember with everything he’d ever need and a love he’d never dreamed of getting, all because he accidentally sent a wrong - not to mention incredibly embarrassing - job application video?

When I wrote the summary as “But what happens when he accidentally sends a wrong video?” I never thought it’d end up this way either lmao.

This fic was born solely because of a prompt sent in which made me want to write office smut and nothing more. But somewhere along the way, between irl dan & phil coming out, me graduating uni and starting a proper job and losing free time to write, and the occasional discussion on the morality of writing phansmut in a post-coming out universe, I just kinda lost the motivation to write this.

But I hate abandoning fics, I know the feeling as a reader of one too many abandoned WIPs. I tried continuing but I started hating this fic, I never (still don’t tbh) understood how this ended up one of my popular ones. I can’t read back on this work because I can pinpoint the exact moment I lost inspiration/motivation and had no idea where the hell I was going with the fic lol, and wished I wrote those parts differently.

Then it took a whole pandemic for me to finally have free time off work so I decided to give this story another try. This resulted in the story having such a prominent shift from the beginning parts (to me anyway, a lot of you have reassured me that the story still flows well, thank you for that because I can’t bear to re-read and see things from my perspective lol). And I started having a bit more fun with it again, learning to write a bit more plotty things instead of pure smut.

I hope I did this fic some justice. It may not have been what I had in mind when I started it, but I can say I’m quite glad with how it turned out in the end :) For what’s originally meant to be only a smut work, it sure got me reflecting a lot lmao. I guess it’s because so much has changed in the past 2 years - like, imagine telling Me who was writing Chapter 1 that Dan would come out in a few months and confuse my whole conscience on writing phansmut lmao???
