I don't know why it took me a couple re-readings of this scene to realize they're in Laios & Falin's room at the inn. I wanted to use background details to piece together where each of them are standing.

The first time I read it, I assumed everyone was crowding around outside like the ending of how to train your dragon, but since they're on the second floor, they're actually all crowded in the hallway! somehow that detail is a lot cuter to me :D

Your Prettiness is Seeping Through III (Wanda Maximoff x Reader)
Warnings: probably bungled the mental hospital descriptions. Bulimia and gross descriptions. suicidal ideation. anything surrounding those two topics tbh. A/N at the end.
Previous Chapter!!!!
----------------------------------------------------

------look at the cage i've been caught up in------- ❅❅❅
You wouldn’t consider yourself disordered.
Mentally ill – maybe – but not because of your bulimia. Your scars were enough evidence to prove that you weren’t well, but your purging never felt like part of your self mutilation. It was just a weight loss method. A disgusting, slightly extreme method, but one nonetheless. It’s not like you had an irrational fear of food, nor did it affect other aspects of your life. Your social life didn’t take a hit, if anything it got better.
You wouldn’t consider yourself an introvert in any way, having been a social butterfly since 10th grade. Before then, you kept to yourself.
‘The funny, fat kid’ is what you considered yourself at the time. People enjoyed talking to you, but they never stayed long after the joke died. Not until you lost half your body weight.
You often showed people old pictures of yourself when you were tubby, letting them make fun of you and often joining in. If you thought about it long enough, you’d get sad. It was still kind of you that they were making fun of, but she wasn’t you anymore. You’d never go back to being her.
You knew it was objectively disgusting. Having to wipe vomit off the toilet seat and floor, saliva from your forearms and jaw; having to change your underwear because you strained so hard you pissed yourself. Despite all of these things, you never felt disgusting. If anything, it gave you a sense of control. Bulimic characters in shows were never relatable, always feeling some kind of guilt or disgust about their ‘disorder’.
You didn’t.
So being here, at the doors of a mental institution, felt unnecessary. You’ve been purging and smoking for a little over 3 years, and your heart hasn’t failed you.
Watching the automatic doors slide open, you walk into the hospital. You’re at least grateful for the fact that you were sent to a high-end institution. Well, as high-end as a place filled with a bunch of crazies was.
“Welcome!” You hear a voice from the front desk the second you step past the doors, smooth and practiced. “Hey.” Waving awkwardly, you walk further into the room, towards the receptionist. She was dressed in all white, looking to be in her early to mid 30’s. Her clothes are pristine, not one wrinkle in sight, and an impossibly wide smile.
A chill went down your spine at the sterile environment. All white walls surrounded you, with random, expensive looking paintings hung around. You took a shower before you left, but this place makes you feel dirty. Handing the receptionist your folder, she asks you to take a seat.
Your parents didn’t come with you. As mad as you were that they made you check into the hospital, you wanted them to be here for it. Your mother at least. The relationship you had with her was complicated. It felt like she popped into your life when you were 12, having been raised by nannies up to that point. She didn’t raise you, dress you, play with you. It felt like after your older brothers, she gave up.
All you remember of her during your childhood was the image of her on the living room couch, playing candy crush and smoking a cigarette.
She wasn’t all bad, though, having moved to America with your father in your second year of university to be closer to you. She still cooked for you, did most of the chores without asking for help, making sure you were at least safe. You’re not sure if it was because she cared or if being a mother was all she knew, often making too much food and sweeping rooms that were already pristine.
“Alright! Come along now.” A nurse pops into your view. He looked young, not much older than you. You smile at him, standing up and pulling the handle of your suitcase. He ushers you to the elevator, entering after you. You pick at your cuticles, the ride seemingly taking forever. A hand stops you before you could start biting your nails, “Don’t be nervous. This is a safe space,” The nurse releases your hand, “We’re here to help you heal.” You ignore your discomfort at the statement.
You sigh in relief when the elevator finally dings, signaling that you’ve reached. The nurse, who you noticed had ‘Ezra’ written on his nametag, leads you down a hallway. You adjust your bag as your footsteps and your suitcase squeaking echo throughout the otherwise silent building. Ezra notices your discomfort, patting your shoulder, “Everybody’s having lunch right now, don’t worry.” You nod.
“This is your room,” He pushes open a door labeled ‘402’, “There’s two beds, if you haven’t noticed. You’ll be having a roommate.”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in. You hated being alone. You just hoped your roommate wasn’t an antisocial weirdo.
Ezra gestures for your suitcase, which you hand to him without a fight. He searches through it, pulling out your mascara and lip gloss and setting them aside. That’s fine, you could live without them. Your eyes widen when he takes out your earphones, “Sorry, protocol.” He says. Music was half of what kept you going. You wish you had enough of a backbone to argue against it.
“We allow electronics here, as most of the residents are students. We do have some websites blocked, but nothing that would inconvenience you.” The nurse smiles. The last thing he takes out of your suitcase is a worn down hoodie, stating that the strings were a hazard. He put it back after you took out the strings, though. You’re surprised he hadn’t taken away your cigarettes.
Ezra explains your weekly routine, pointing at the schedule next to the door. There are group sessions everyday, whether you decide to attend is your choice, however it would increase your chances of being discharged. From eating disorders to drug addiction, they had groups for everything. There were also therapists you could talk to at any time, which was neat. He left the rest of the facility for you to discover on your own, which you were grateful for. The nurse points out the list of rules hung up next to the schedule before he bids you goodbye, leaving the door open as his footsteps fade.
Looking around the room, it wasn’t all bad. The windows were barred, all the sharp corners in the room were padded, and the mirror in the attached bathroom was made of this weird, plastic that warped whatever it reflected back at you.
They couldn’t have possibly thought that’d be a good idea in a facility like this.
There were basically two of everything. Two toothbrushes, two tubes of toothpaste, two mouthwash bottles, two beds, two bedside tables, and two closets. The room could be mirrored if it weren’t for the single desk in the corner.
You pull your suitcase towards the closet and shove all your clothes into it, taking out black sweatpants and a random band t-shirt to change into.
You’re looking for a place to put your suitcase when you notice a shelf high up in your closet.
❅❅❅
“We’re here.”
Clint announces he parks the car in front of the building. If not for the big sign with ‘Mt. Massive Psychiatric Facility’ written in bold, she would’ve thought it was a 5 star hotel. She unbuckles her seatbelt and exits the car, moving towards the trunk with the archer, Natasha following after them. “God, what is in here?” Clint grunts as he takes out Wanda’s suitcase. She rolls her eyes, taking the suitcase and holding it above her head, “Maybe you’re just weak.” She jokes. Clint’s eyes widen. Natasha laughs, opting not to mention the red mist surrounding the witch’s hands.
Wanda places the bag back down, walking towards the entrance. “Are you sure this isn’t the Four Seasons?” Wanda asks. Clint shakes his head, “We weren’t going to send you to any random facility. This was very expensive!”
Guilt pierces Wanda. Noticing, Natasha chimes in, “Tony paid for it. Probably didn’t even make a dent in his wallet.”
Clint winces, realizing what he did. The Widow shakes her head at him.
The archer cared, he really did. He just didn’t know how to deal with these kinds of things. He wishes he could be of more help. If he could, Clint would take away all of Wanda’s pain for himself. He couldn’t though, so he insisted on driving them to the facility. It was the least he could do. Wanda was like a daughter to him, though he’d never admit it.
As they walk into the facility, Wanda notices a pack of cigarettes on the couch. She quickly moves to take a seat, taking the pack and shoving it in her pocket. Clint and Natasha go to the receptionist to check her in.
“A nurse will be with you shortly.” Natasha smiles at the receptionist's statement, dragging Clint with her to the couch. They sit on either side of Wanda.
The witch sighs, placing her head on Clint’s lap. He looks down at her, “You’ll be alright kiddo. They’ll fix you right up.” Clint ruffles Wanda’s hair. Natasha places her hand on Wanda’s knee, giving her a look. The widow wasn’t very good with words, but Wanda understood.
“Hello!” Wanda jumps at the sudden greeting, “I’m Nurse Janet, but you can call me Jan.” She wouldn’t be doing that.
They all stand, letting the nurse direct them to Wanda’s room. The weight of the situation hits the witch as they walk down the hallway. She’s going to be here for 9 weeks, at least. No work to distract her. No alcohol to numb the pain. Nothing.
The sound of a crash from Wanda’s room catches their attention.
“Fuck!” You fall backwards off the desk chair, banging your head on the carpeted floor. Groaning, you curl up, grabbing your head.
They all stare in shock, not expecting to be greeted with a random girl on the floor of the room. Clint rushes towards you before you put your arm out, stopping him from getting closer. “I’m fine. It’s all good.” You ignore the pounding in your head as you get up. You offer a big smile while you take in the group in front of you, “Hello!”
Wanda’s eyes widened in recognition, but you didn’t seem to know who she was. Your accent catches her off guard. She offers a tight-lipped smile, scooting slightly to hide behind Natasha. Clint chuckles, putting out his hand for you to shake.
Nurse Janet approaches you, moving to inspect you for any injuries before you back up. “I’m good!” You try to convince her. She backs off.
“Okay,” She squints her eyes, “Anyways, this is Wanda, your roommate!” She points behind her. You move to shake Natasha’s hand before she chuckles and moves to the side, revealing the witch.
You put your hand down, sensing her discomfort. Wanda glances up at the band aid on your head, giving you a questioning look. “Oh. I tripped over my cat.” You laugh, the lie coming out easily. You don’t even have a cat.
Not believing you, Wanda tries to dig around in your mind for the truth. A sudden piercing headache makes itself known. You sit down on the corner of the bed, holding your head in your hands. The nurse rushes forward, “Hey, what’s wrong?”
The witch stops, causing you to sigh in relief. “I don’t know. It’s probably nothing.”
“I think we should check you out for a concussion.” The nurse mumbles as she leans down, pulling a flashlight out of her back pocket and shining it into your eyes.
You push it away, nodding your head and getting up, letting her lead you out of the room.
Wanda watches you walk away, feeling slightly guilty. Nobody’s ever reacted that badly to her poking around. Natasha punches her shoulder lightly, “You’re gonna have to put those powers to rest while you’re here.” She sighs. The witch rolls her eyes, trudging to the bed and laying down with her legs dangling off the edge. Clint unpacks her bag, placing everything in the unoccupied side of the closet, as well as putting your bag onto the shelf you were trying to reach.
“I can’t share a room with her.” Wanda says as Natasha approaches her.
“Come on. Give her a break.” Clint grunts as he lifts Wanda’s suitcase onto the bed.
Natasha crosses her arms, “She’s a sweet girl. She probably just wants to make the best of her stay here.”
Wanda sits up on her elbows, “She was the girl who thought I was skinny, back at the hospital.”
“Maybe she’s anorexic.” Clint tries.
Wanda groans, “Or she’s a bitch.”
The witch would rather share a room with a suicidal hermit than an extroverted anorexic. You seemed nice enough, but that was only 5 minutes of the rest of your stay together. She imagines how annoyed she’d get watching you poke around at your food, or hearing you exercise at the asscrack of dawn. Right now, more than ever, she wishes her attempt worked.
The conversation dies out as Clint finishes up. Wanda stands up, giving each of her friends a hug, before they leave. “We’ll visit as often as we can, alright?” Natasha says, tightening her hold on the witch. Wanda hums, letting Clint give her a kiss on the forehead before he and Natasha exit the room.
Sighing, Wanda takes a seat at the desk. Taking out the pack of cigarettes she found, she inspects the box. She’d never been a smoker, fearing she’d get addicted. It’d just be one more thing she couldn’t control. From her brothers death, to her failed suicide, and now being made to go to a mental facility, it was like any control she had over her life was slipping through her fingers. In all honesty, she had no idea why she took the pack. She’d never shoplifted, stolen from a friend, or even picked a dollar up off the floor. Pietro would’ve scolded her for this.
Pietro.
Wanda shakes her head. Now's not the time.
Putting down the pack, she gets up and walks to the attached bathroom. The brunette places her hands on the edge of the sink, looking into the mirror. She needs to get out of here as soon as possible. She’ll go to whatever groups they have, she’ll take whatever meds they give her, and she’ll follow whatever bullshit rules in place. Wanda watches her face warp in the mirror as she forces a smile.
She’ll get out of here, and she won’t fail again.

hello, I hope you're having a good day <33 I saw your recent post on my dash and I was STUNNED at the animated scene! It's insane to me I get to see your characters animated. Feeling blessed to be alive to see it, I am not exaggerating. You know, one of these times where you wake up and things are a little bumpy in your life but there's one thing that shines brightly you didn't know it could give you so much excitement? Yeah, that kind of thing ((:
I took my time for the past hour to reminisce over your blog again. It is one of the places I really love scrolling through and reading your writing. I had a question, if you don't mind me. The way you have improved is truly admirable. I know this might not be an easy ask to say "hey, how did you learn how to paint", so I'll ask this instead: I don't know how long you've been working full-time in art, but when do you make time for studies / drawing for fun? If it's not too much to respond to, how do *you* study? I remembered your posts with your redlines and wanted to ask how do you go about those, or if you switch your routines based on your needs (sketches vs speed painting backgrounds etc). The notes there were very interesting, seeing the mental exercise.
Pretty sure you have a fKTON of stuff on your plate, so please don't feel obligated to respond quickly or even at all. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my message and for all the time you take to respond in general. Love reading your responses <3
Take care, ok? <3
I'm glad the animation made you feel better! I'll put the answer under the Keep Reading thingy.
I'm not entirely sure... I think I don't study as much as I should/could. I mostly learn as I go. Standalone studies are helpful, I'm just drawn to doing things that are more fun/satisfying to me or things that actively progress my creative goals. Imperfect illustrations for my stories, and incomplete research for worldbuilding! Many people learn faster than I, and those people do a lot more studies than I, but I have no info on whether they have more fun than I. Dopamine is rocket fuel, so it's important. :)
I'm always on the lookout for reference pictures, but I study almost only when I have a practical goal in mind, I guess. Studying is part of my job too, I think? As an indie concept artist I'm supposed to build a hoard of references and pull several new/sensible things out of them, and I think part of this process is understanding the material, and revisiting even what I already know. Illustration is similar. If I'm commissioned to draw an anthro alligator, it's time to study gators. It's not separate from work.
I mean, straightforward version: I wake up at 03:30, make coffee, and start working for myself until the paying work starts, lol. Brain is fresh before noon, and tired late in the evening just like everyone else's. It also helps that the city more or less shuts up at 4am.
The studies with the redlines... I do them when I fancy drawing characters or creatures but feel out of shape. I can get discouraged, feel like I forgot how to draw. I sketch if I plan to sketch, and paint if I plan to paint or want to study colors Drawing live models helps. Studying videos of people and things in motion. Hopping down rabbit holes about how/why things work (e.g. flintlock, Davy lamp, mansard roof). Drawing from refs. Hoarding refs. Trying different mediums (e.g. charcoal, 3D, etching). Small screenshot of one of my ref boards for the animation; I'd say I studied it a lot. How clothes move, what are good clothes, how do good clothes move, lion/tiger + human + eagle anatomy (from specific angles during specific motions if/when possible), how to dive roll, proper sprinting form, how to survive falling from a great height, spearfighting, pole vaulting, poledancing, lighting, colors, environment, kicked-up sand in motion, spear types, emu/cassowary/griffon vulture feet, etc. I didn't draw studies, unless you count the animation itself (I would).

#whiteraventxt#studying#hope it doesnt read like i enjoy sniffing my own farts#Griffin's knees probably got blown when he fell btw

Deltarune's themes of escapism and why they hit me hard
I was going to do some Deltarune art based around this and then just have the definition of escapism under it, but I can't think of what to draw, so I'm just going to ramble about it instead.
Deltarune, as I'm sure many many other people have pointed out before, has strong themes of escapism in addition to its themes of control, freedom, the narrative, etc. The Dark Worlds transform objects into people, rooms into environments, high school students into heroes. They seem to bring to life the sorts of games you played as a kid, with your toys and your friends, making up a story that played out in your mind, enhanced by your imagination. It's theatre of the mind, helped along by the toys and props and whatnot - like when you're playing D&D, too. This sort of thing is mainly in Chapter One, with the game pieces and cards and toys. I remember playing make-believe with practically everything as a kid - I made up stories with chess pieces a few times, that was fun. Castle Town and Card Kingdom are both reminiscent of a very traditional form of escapism: fantasy.
The Cyber World is a little different, but it still holds the same sort of idea - hell, we're all here on Tumblr, we know what it's like to bury ourselves in the internet, in videos and memes and posts, and forget the world for a little while. This is emphasised by Queen's commentary - I can't find the exact quote, but it's something about being worried that the Lightners will become depressed without the 'bliss' of the internet, which isn't currently working in Hometown. We also know that Chapter 3 will take place in Toriel's lounge room and seems to be specifically based around the TV (and, this is off topic, but I literally just realised Mike could be, like, mic, as in microphone, and Tenna could be short for antenna), which can also be a form of escapism for people. I know that my mum, for one, watches TV most nights.
There's also the specific characters who fall into the Dark Worlds - Kris, Susie, Noelle, Berdly.
Kris seems to be considered weird by most of Hometown, where they are the only human and don't seem to have many - or, well, any - real friends apart from their brother, who was the town's golden boy, who everyone keeps talking about and seems to hold in high regard, whose side of the bedroom holds trophies and pictures and colour while Kris' is bare and grey (they also have Susie now, but she only became their friend during the first Dark World). In the Dark World, however, Kris gets to be a hero, sword and shield raised, saving the world with their friends. Everyone in Castle Town loves them. The room Ralsei built for them has trophies aplenty. And then there's the matter of Ralsei, who looks so much like Toriel and Asgore and Asriel, who is so nice and so supportive of Kris, who has pink horns like maybe a certain red headband faded (yes I headcanon that Ralsei is Kris' old horn headband and will continue to do so until proven wrong).
Susie, who drinks milk from back alleys and threatens to eat people's faces, who didn't actually call home when she had a sleepover with Kris, who gets uncomfortable around the block of flats in Hometown, who doesn't seem to know how to react when shown kindness or friendship, who considers herself the 'bad guy'. Well, she gets to be that bad guy, strong and powerful and scary, with a big axe and sharp teeth and enemies to defeat. And then she gets to have friends, she gets to have food, she gets to be the hero and maybe that's not so bad after all if she does it alongside people she cares about, people who care about her. We can see how much happier she is in the Dark Worlds.
Berdly, who tries so hard to be perceived as smart, who loves videogames. I don't have as much to say about him, honestly, but his Dark World design is quite distinctively Cyber World when compared to the other Lightner's more fantasy-inspired designs, and being in the Dark World gives him the chance to be a hero, even if he's not great at that for most of Chapter 2.
And Noelle. Noelle, whose sister seems to be missing or dead, whose dad is in hospital, whose mum is the town's mayor and works a lot and has an icy personality. Noelle who searches for bugs and secrets in the games she seems to love. Noelle who wishes she had magic to heal her dad. Noelle who seems to feel powerless to help someone she loves, who doesn't stand up to Berdly or her mum. Once she's in the Dark World, she can heal people. She stands up to Queen, who is a sort of mother figure. She gets to spend time with Susie. She gets to see the city lights that Dess promised her.
All this to say that Deltarune in general and the Dark Worlds specifically have some not-so-subtle themes of escapism.
Now, the 'why it hits me hard' bit. Escapism has always been one of my main coping strategies, and even beyond that, I love fantasy, I love stories, I love burying myself in another world. It's much easier to be in a world where there's magic and quests and maybe there's struggles and strife and people still get hurt and mess up and go through bad things, but eventually there's a happy ending because that's how stories work, they don't have the constant uncertainty of real life. And, you know, if I could go to a Dark World, I would. I can understand why Susie likes the Dark Worlds so much, why Noelle and Berdly wanted to make another. Escapism is something that I can understand, especially after having struggled with my mental health for a few years (I'm a lot better now though). The world can be messy and complicated and hard, and wouldn't it be nice to be in a different world for a bit, one where you can be who you want to be and you don't feel lost anymore?
So, uh... yeah lol.

"Bad trip" - Ramshackle
Pebble + Reader
Platonic
Headcanons
---
Lwk more of a character study I just think he's neat
---
I actually don't know if he's like exclusive to Stone as in nobody else can see him but i think (???) hes visible to others ppl but idc im writing this anyway i like pebble
Pebble is so neon and "in your face", he sticks out like a sore thumb. Ramshackle is full of muted greys, browns, and yellows, as if there's some permanent vintage film over everything you see. Pebble, on the other hand, flaunts his blinding bright colors and patterns with very little care- pride, even. You can go maybe ten seconds looking at him head-on before you have to look away.
Also, he's loud and obnoxious in general, not just visually. He just loves jumping from topic to topic, sometimes before even wrapping the previous one up. He'll start talking about saving the earth and volunteering at a kids camp to promote candy consumption before switching up the topic completely and yapping about his favorite novella or something stupid like that.
You probably didn't befriend Pebble willingly. He's kind of like a leech- he decides he kind of likes you and sticks to you like glue. Of course, he's only around for so long before he has to dip, so it allows you some time away from him. Still, he makes decent company, and his carefree nature makes him pretty fun to be around. It doesn't take long before he grows on you.
His annoying nature is something you likely just have to adjust to and get used to with time. He's capable of making a decent joke every now and then, and he's surprisingly easygoing despite being kind of annoying and "all over the place" most of the time. He's happy to boast about his skills on the guitar and his extensive knowledge about the Earth and the environment. He's also always happy to bug Stone and mindlessly follow him around, lazing about in the air and yapping about every topic under the sun.
Stone doesn't like that you're practically best friends with Pebble. It doesn't stem from jealousy or anything of the sort, but rather a general distaste towards the blue-haired troglodyte. He's far too annoying and pressing for his liking, and he talks his ear off almost every hour of his high. Still, he refrains from commenting on it. At least you give him a break from Pebble every now and then.
Since he can take on the form of whatever he desires, he's more than happy to turn into a chair for you to bash over someone's head. Says yes with little to no questioning, although he may ask for something in return and give you a hard time about repaying him for such a kind favor.
Flirty in a way that makes everyone in the room stare silently in collective disgust and gag. He thinks he's soo funny when he hits a stupid pose and a smolder after a "smooth" comment, but it's more embarrassing than anything. He's also flirty in the joking way that friends are flirty, and nonchalantly makes silly comments and quips that he 100% expects you to return. Please match his freak.
Brainrotted to his core despite being from times away before most modern technology. It's not like he says "skibidi toilet" or whatever, but rather he needs constant stimulation and repeats recently learned nonsensical phrases to annoy people, kind of like how some people gain new vocal stims after watching a show or movie. It annoys everyone, not just Stone. Skipp may laugh and find it silly, though.
Whips out an acoustic guitar and starts singing Kumbaya. Probably has crazy duets with Skipp.
Technically, he's not real. You can't touch him, and he can't touch you (probably idk). That doesn't mean he doesn't try. He pretends to grab strands of hair, twist and play with them before discarding them completely, or tries to grab your hands so that he can "dance" with you, or something stupid like that. Gets all bummed out when it doesn't work because he's a hallucination and you're real.
If Stone doesn't wanna put up with him, you have to. Pebble is an attention whore and if he can't get it from Stone, he'll go to the next best source. He kind of just lazes about and encourages you to have a good time (do drugs). He's there for a fun time, not a long time, for the effects of candy can only last so long. He likes to show off and is happy to take requests when playing his guitar. I think he'd play a lot of crunchy/granola millennial music that was super popular in like 2014-2016 or something idk I'm not a millennial thank god
He's surprisingly blunt and not very helpful. He's maybe capable of giving decent advice, but absolutely refuses to. He could tell you to go talk your feelings out, but he'd much rather tell you to just wait because they'll "come around eventually," and that, since actions speak louder than words, you should send them something nice, like uncooked pasta with cryptic messages written on the packaging. May also tell you to spit in their coffee at some point.
---
A/N: idk this has actually been in the drafts for like ever i cant think of a title for this i might have to die

𝑨𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔!
So, I’ve decided to create indepth posts about astrology; the signs/placements, planets, and houses. I have a short overview here. Everyone has a whole birth chart, here's a free site that I use and trust (don't go on co-astrology it's full of stereotypes and misinformation.)
Find the first lesson here (sun)
Second Lesson here (moon)
The ascendant/rising aspect changes every two hours. Where the Moon aspect changes every two and a half days and Sun aspects change every month.
It’s the why the world sees you, how you project your image. It’s the surface of your personality, how aquaintances see you - basically how you’re seen with first impressions. Just as important as your Sun and Moon signs, together these make up the main component of your astrological personality.
Some people see Rising placements as more defining than the Sun sign. But that can be debated.
Often the Ascendant persona is the one that was forced upon us by family conditioning.
Think of your Ascendant as the character you appear to be when arriving at a party.
Rising in Fire signs: tend to appear extroverted and brash.
Rising in Water signs: appear emotional and need to connect.
Rising in Air signs: appear inquisitive and want to know what’s happening.
Rising in Earth signs: take it step by step, wanting to make sure they feel comfortable first.

𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 | 𝑇𝘩𝑒 𝑅𝑎𝑚
With an Aries Rising, your gift is the ability to initiate, take charge and pioneer. Direct and quick, their first instinct is to do, rather than think. This position does not make a person aggressive, but rather forthright and sometimes blunt. You carry the qualities of boldness, courage, and leadership, and your function is to blaze new pathways, to lead, to initiate and to do.
𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑅𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑟: 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑠

With an Aquarius Rising, they are often turned to for advice. They possess intellectual poise and savvy. Often labeled as independent and original children, Aquarius Risings often feel a little “different” or “special” throughout life. The Aquarius Rising mindset is actually far more affectionate and kind than people give them credit for. Because these people seem so open to new ideas, it may be surprising when you encounter their decidedly stubborn streak.
𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑅𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑟: 𝑆𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛, 𝑈𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑠
It’s hard to shock an Aquarius Rising. In fact, they often enjoy shocking others.
They walk through the world with an unconventional mindset
They are continuously showing up for the people they care about
For an Aquarius, there is no making a promise to someone and then letting them down by ghosting.

𝐏𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐬 | 𝑇𝘩𝑒 𝐹𝑖𝑠𝘩

for the question thing!!! do you have any silly hcs about the clan boys (+ the familiars/eito)? can be as wild as u want
sorry in advance if i don't have any HCs for ur beloveds bc i can only offer what my brain chooses to fixate on.... but let's see........
i like to imagine clan members enjoying fun little hobby hours
i pretend they're not busy adults with their own obligations and schedules.... so they just get together like a bunch of retirees and partake in shared hobbies whenever they want 🤗
e.g.,
book club: oli, blade, yaku, garu
horny book club: eiden, morv, blade, edmond if he works up the courage to discuss his fave BDSM PwP short novel with the 3 most shameless creatures ever ... honestly oli could join as well but i'm gonna excuse him from ONE book club so he can get some sleep. maybe he'll alternate days between the two 😆
sewing and knitting together like a couple of serene grandmas: yakuoli. eiden joins sometimes (all serenity is lost when he does)
TARGET PRACTICE! NEW ACTIVITIES!!! DARTS!! ! PIN THE TAIL ON THE EDMOND! sorry idk this is just my way of saying that after the cowboy event, i want to imagine edmond/dante/garu all playing target striking games and it becomes a contest of how split one dart can be down the middle (you can't all be perfect aimers ok aster can't keep buying new darts can u PLEASE throw them anywhere but dead centre).
i know blade could join as well but would it take the competition aspect out of it? he's kind of calibrated to never miss right?? it's not a game anymore. it's just superior blade and pissed off dante and garu cheering (he's just happy to be there) and edmond trying to be civil about letting everyone participate
they are out in the garden. touching grass: yaku is gardening. blade is collecting bugs. garu is digging holes. kuya is bewitching plants at random to spew sex pollen into someone's face (i feel like this is his superpower in SEVERAL fics and i am not complaining). quincy is trying to nap
.but .
he chose the worst place to do it. in the middle of nature's playground (aster's garden)?
garu's kicking up dust into his face. blade is shoving random insects into his face and asking identification questions. yaku screams when he inevitably falls to the kuya traps. kuya can't resist watching the little ones (yakugaru) play with dirt. WHY would you choose to sleep here.
(Topper is nibbling all the edible plants in the garden while skillfully avoiding all the porn plot traps with his superior Toppinstincts)
now for 3 ! single character HCs.......
kuya: wanders the marketplace, and often sees those anti-aging creams with LOFTY claims to their power... he always mocks them and insults the intelligence of all the vain people clamouring to buy the stock. later that day you will see kuya at home, trying those very same creams (procured illegally, of course, because why pay for anything ever) and pretending like he's zero percent interested in the results
rei: in the same situation will just as quickly mock the creams but unlike kuya he'll mean it and will NOT be caught applying the gloop all over his face later. "lmao it's just sunscreen who even believes this shit"
yakumo: i like to give him sneczema sometimes. i know it's implied that everyone in gay gacha has perfect skin forever *waves hand dismissively* BUT
imagine that he loves working with his hands but the sneczema can flare up if he's too rough on em, so he compromises by wearing his gloves. protect that vulnerable skin, yaku!! [insert pun about scaly skin]
His SR clothing material seems soft. Aesthetic reason: slippery smooth like the idea of snek. Practical reason: coarse textures can aggravate skin 😔 only the silkiest coverings for a scaly boy...
i mean. yaku prefers the wet cave environment so we gotta keep an eye on his humidity. too dry and he'l'l turn into a wafer (like in Solaria that One Time)
is this just an excuse for me to mist him with a spray bottle ? at random times because it just seems like fun? perhaps. spritzspritz
#i wanted to only respond to this ask when i had the biggest most brain blastingest thorough intrIGUING headcanons but#i. i don't think we're gonna reach that point.#whatever's floating in my brain is as good as we're gonna get haha#and you've waited long enough... probably? i've lost track of days#can't...t hink... of a specific theme of headcanon.... encompassing every clan member..... *furrows brow in concentration*#sighs. you know how you could have a bunch of ideas but they're all swimming around rapidspeed and you can't actually collect them#until someone prompts you with a VERY SPECIFIC casting line and oh! suddenly! access to thoughts unlocked!!!!#if u just ask me what i think about generally it's. fluff. fluff and food. brain simple#but if u ever wanna try and target my cortex with a specific prompt#throw it at me 😁😁#feesh answer

I ooh I'm glad you noticed my yapping lol
"I'm so sick and tired of extremely traumatized characters being killed off because the creators don't know how to deal with it or even want to describe their recovery process."
You speak for me
please give me some kind of cure would that be too much to ask? I feel like this is like black characters only being put in a work to suffer racism and suffer only and solely because of it until they die… because of that too
like i know it's difficult but hell yeah its possible for a character don’t needing to die to “get rid” or heal like PLS you can live and one day get your recover too
I wish he had had it… oh my
I think that besides other issues this is what bothers me the most about the end of JJK but I didn’t know how to express myself very well about it YOU SAID EVERYTHING I WANTED TO SAY but I didn’t know how to
“I can’t get over one of the other more traumatized characters needing to die to start their recovery process… You can’t just change your mind like that. I wish I could change my mind like that”
me too my brother me too…
about stsg
in general I personally don't ship anything in jjk but as I yearn a little obsessively to understand him I can't help but see the implications behind stsg
Gojo definitely loved Geto whether romantically or not that was an undeniable fact
and I honestly see this between them in a more platonic way
but man the denial bothers me too although to a certain extent I think it's acceptable for people not to have Satoru's complete vision in this matter of sexuality because they usually don't care to delve deeper and see between the lines if the author simply doesn't throw it in their face right away and that's even ok with me
but of course the line is crossed when it gets to homophobia which unfortunately is almost always ugh
my biggest HC in the world is Gojo bisexual (let these poor proletariat have their fun please!!) he's a loser with women while still not accepting the idea of another man in his life and maybe he's depressed and drowning too much in responsibilities and for anything that the idea of any kind of romance just seems unrealistic and irrelevant whether with a man or a woman
cause well yeah most depressed people usually have no libido or prospects for relationships (yes I'm projecting again)
anyway I love reading your analyses I even sent another one of those questions about jujutsu and autism but it was sent anonymously by accident
and about the fanfic I don't think I'll be posting this any time soon my confidence as a fanfic writer was obliterated along with my adolescence lol
Previous Related Ask
The Autism ask is under the cut so I can keep everything in one place.
Autism
"I was reading about jujutsu and autism and that's a really interesting interpretation of the characters
But whenever I stop to face my own issues, I ask myself: is this part of me because I was born with it/to have a predisposition for it or did my upbringing do this to me?
Sometimes it can be one or the other or both
But in Gojo's case, I relate to him a bit, this whole fucked up childhood thing, the neglect, the isolation, no friends, etc. Sometimes I wonder if I am autistic, but after looking into it more closely I really don't think I am. I'm not a psychologist and I'm far from having read so much about this, but the consequences of spending so many years of your life in an inadequate environment, especially during childhood development, are terrible and practically impossible to get rid of in adulthood (my own experience is speaking). Your brain is completely shaped by this, and it will obviously reverberate throughout your entire exterior (behavior, the way you see the world and others around you, and the way you interacts with everything etc.), so I see all of his social inadequacy as a consequence of his upbringing, and I identify with this because I have negative social skills because I wasn't raised in an environment conducive to this. I don't really see it as a development of autism, especially when he, like me, didn't have the necessary help to deal with the consequences of the problems resulting from the traumatic events he went through and his questionable upbringing.
But I may not be seeing the whole picture yet. When I stop to analyze something I consume, I like to evaluate most of the possibilities but my ability to interpret the content I consume is not as good as yours, and yet in the end, the perception we have of them is so individual and is nothing more than a personal projection of ours.
I still find the idea of him being autistic interesting and I genuinely see where you are coming from in some aspects, although I don't completely agree."
This kind of reminds me of how Laois Dungeon Meshi's autism is debated. A lot people who are allistic make the argument that because they can relate to him, he cannot possibly be autistic. (Not that you are making that argument in particular.) Laois is just a well rounded character who happens to be autistic. Instead of his autism being a flanderized stereotype, it's just one of his traits.
A lot of autistic representation is done in a way that makes the autistic seem like a mysterious different species the allistic can't possibly relate to. So when you get a character like Laois where the autism clearly influences him but he's got other things going for him, the allistic will reject the autism because they don't think it's possible to share traits with them.
So for Gojo in particular. Even if you aren't autistic, it's good that you relate to him. It's possible for allistic people to share experiences with the autistic. And representation that gets across the autistic are in fact not a separate alien group is very important to me. (Aka I will die on the hill that one of the most popular fictional characters is autistic and beloved.)
The Other Stuff
There is nothing more I love than pathetic loser bisexual men. I made Gojo bisexy in my fic for this reason alone. (You should in your fic as well. We can build up the courage to post it online together!)
I think Satosugu works very well as skinny love that was never realized. I'm pretty convinced it was romantic but they didn't act on it because *Joker voice* society. The fandom homophobia is a lot less than what I'm used to though. I'll give them that at least.
Anyways, my brain is melting but hopefully this works as a response?

You've made several posts about witchcraft, like the worldbuilding, surround it, and your ideas of the witches' road. Do you also have ideas to flesh out its magic system?
Nothing as detailed or sophisticated as you're probably imagining. Considering how magic and magic users typically function in Marvel comics, I think it's important for these things to be left open-ended. I would not want to box witchcraft into a hard magic system.
I've written at length about what distinguishes witches and witchcraft from other forms of magic in the Marvel world. There's already a lot there, but the thing that's often missing, for me, is a consistent use of characterizing detail. Witchcraft would feel more like its own thing if the writers and artists were consistent about using aesthetics and motifs that set it apart. If I was writing Wanda or Agatha, I'd want to familiarize myself with folk magic and traditional witchcraft practices, so that I could incorporate some of those images and modalities. I don't expect every writer to literally be a practicing witch, but if you get a sense of what kind of tools, symbols and methods a witch might use-- and how they'd use them-- you can create a more immersive atmosphere where witchcraft feels tangible and lived in. This could also be a fun way to give different characters their own specialties and create more variety in how they do witchcraft, without falling into the taxonomy trope.
That aside, a good place to start, if you want to do more world building, is to look for unanswered questions. For example, Scarlet Witch (2016) put a lot of focus on the cost of magic. Casting spells takes years off of Wanda's life, to the point that it's clearly not sustainable. I've always assumed that this was meant to be an imbalance caused by Witchcraft's illness-- when she's healed, Wanda's life is restored, but that begs the question, what does the magical ecosystem look like when Witchcraft is in balance? What is the "normal" price of magic? How does that work for "normal" witches-- you know, people who aren't super powerful like Wanda?
We've talked about how witchcraft fits into the eco-, ego-, and exocentric model, which can be used to explain where a witch's power comes from, but what does that look like in practice? How does one go about honing their innate powers and forming relationships with spirits, nature, and higher beings? What do you have to give, in order to get, as it were? Are there rituals involved? How much time is spent studying or crafting? How do we find space in an issue of comic book storytelling to showcase these quieter parts of magic-as-practice in a way that feels organic and moves the plot along? That's something that's missing in a lot of books these days, not just SW.
I realize that page space is limited, and comic book writers are very busy people. But if I were given stewardship of a character like Wanda, I would be taking this kind of stuff really seriously. You don't have to come up with a whole bespoke magic system, but asking yourself these kind of questions is just a good practice. You want to have those answers ready to go whenever the opportunity arises to inject a little imagination and detail into your world.
Just to give some examples, I wanted to throw out a couple ideas I had while I was noodling over this ask--
Billy lives on a foreign planet and is immersed in alien cultures that each have their own folklore and religion. Does being in such a different environment change his relationship with magic at all? As the Court Mage, what are his responsibilities? Taking a look at Billy's daily life and role in the Alliance would give him a chance demonstrate magic in a way that's more nuanced or intentional than his usual chanting gimmick. Personally, I'd really like to see Billy and Mur-G'nn working together to revitalize holy sites from both cultures, and have Billy respectfully learning about their beliefs while working on cultural unity projects, something that was hinted at in Scarlet Witch (2023).
We haven't really seen Amaranth casting spells yet, and her unique abilities seem to nullify most magic. Is she able to cast spells in the same way that as Wanda? If not, are there other ways for her to work with elemental powers, or access the magical properties of plants and natural materials-- synthesizing what's already there, rather than seeking to conjure or transform? This could be an engaging way to bring in more elements of practical, traditional witchcraft that you might not see with Wanda or Agatha, whose powers are so elevated. Plus, she's named after a flower-- it'd be a fun motif!
In general, having a student or protégée character creates a natural opportunity to talk about witchcraft on a more practical level. It would be very simple to just open an issue with a short lesson scene, and I think that it would go a long way to making Wanda and Amaranth's teacher-student relationship more believable. This brings up a few unanswered questions-- we know, as readers, that Amaranth is connected in some way to the Witchcraft goddess, but what was the pretense or purpose for Agatha tutoring her? What does she get out of being a witch. Where'd she get that costume? Did Agatha give it to her, and does it have any significance? I'm thinking of how Jennifer Kale's outfit is meant to be traditional priestess garb.

s/i-centric questions to answer, whether in a post* or as a reblog! feel free to pick the ones you want to answer or just answer for all.
this is not meant to be an ask game! but you can answer it that way, if you’d like :]
* if you do it as a post, i’d loveee if you tagged me so i could see it! ^__^
other than with your f/o(s), how are your insert’s relationships with other characters like? have they made any close friends or enemies+ how did that happen?
what about their reputation, are they well known outside of their circle? what do others initially think or assume about them?
what were your f/o(s) first impression of them? vice versa, what was your insert’s first impression of your f/o(s)?
what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) have in common?
what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) don’t have in common?
what is your insert’s moral alignment?
give us a little bit of information about your insert! could be basic (name, age, height), stuff relevant to the source (abilities, class type, affiliations, etc.) or just fun facts you really want to talk about!
how would they spend their day to day in your f/os’ universe? do they have a job or any other daily commitment? a routine they follow?
when does your insert come into the story and what part do they play in it? how do they fit into everything, and how does the story change with them involved?
give us a brief (or not-so-brief) summary of their backstory! how did they end up wherever they are? memorable moments? etc.
when & how do they get introduced to your f/os?
what about their fashion & aesthetic? what kind of clothes do they usually/like to wear for the everyday, or when they’re all dressed up for some special event?
^ is it anything practical you would wear irl, or is it a little unrealistic and purely for the sake of having a cool design?
if your insert were to become a canon character, how would they be treated by fandom? do you think they would get misinterpreted a lot?
how does your insert look like: are they an exact copy of you? are they you, but with minor adjustments? (e.g they have a tattoo, different hairstyle or eye color, etc)
what does their living environment look like? is it minimally decorated, messy or super high tech & futuristic? is it a place you could actually/want to live in?
does your insert have any family? (whether it be familial f/os, ocs, pets or people based off your actual family)
#again i did this bc i know not a lot of people will receive asks or like interactions etc. so that’s why !!#same thing as my last one except i tried to make it centered around self inserts (um. not that many questions though)#self ship#self ship positivity#self ship community#fictoromantic#self ship ask game#<- even though it isnt really ..#self shipping community#yumejoshi#✦

I have been thinking about Nordic childhood traditions lately. As far as they go, I only found that young men in the Old Holds hunt ice wraiths in the dead of winter as a claim to full status as citizens, and that Nordic names are chosen based on omens and given in a special ceremony when a child is young. I'm interested in your thoughts on the childhood traditions of the Nords. Would they differ from hold to hold? How different would they be in a more cosmopolitan hold like the Reach compared to one of the Old Holds where the Old Ways still thrive, such as Dawnstar? Would traditions be different between young boys and young girls? What if a child were to grow up sheltered? What would they be missing out on during their childhood?
hmm, interesting question… I think most ritualised traditions pertaining to childhood are about growth and moving from one state to another, so your question is making me think mostly about coming-of-age traditions. the ice wraith thing is obviously an example of this, but not one that would be super accessible in most of skyrim, and though I can imagine it still being practised in some communities I imagine others might consider it archaic (the source for that one dates to the second era iirc, so definitely not a contemporary observation!) I wonder what other kinds of practices might stand in its place… skyrim is harsh country and socio-culturally speaking I think nords value both knowing the land and how to manage it and protecting the hearth and home. durability and community are prized and rites of passage into adulthood would need to exemplify these ideals. I’ll keep pondering this… might be fun to try to figure out what these traditions might be
(I do imagine that there are visual changes before and after earning adulthood – there are probably garments that only children wear and vice versa. and I don’t think people begin to braid and decorate their beards until they’ve recognised as an adult. they can have one beforehand, it just has to be boring. so beard care is often a point of pride)
and I DEFINITELY believe that there’s enormous variation between the traditions of different holds. not least because the environments that shape them are so different (the swamps of morthal prompt different ways of interacting with the world around you than the snow-clad pale or the mountains of the reach)… imperialisation is also a massive factor. skyrim as we see it in-game is so heavily influenced by the empire that despite the whole civil war occurring over Nord Lands and Nord Traditions and Nord Beliefs, there is exactly one character shown who gives a rat's ass about any of the old gods, or how they've been overwritten by cyrod interpretations. now I do think the game is just wrong about that and there are definitely more people who feel that way, but even so - one has to assume it's affected how traditional milestones and rites of passage are perceived and celebrated. religious traditions in particular would have had a hard time sticking around as skyrim became more used to the imperial pantheon. cities, being generally more cosmopolitan, more crowded, more imperialised, and kind of seen as separate from the land, are probably where these traditions have become rarest and altered the most (there isn't always the right cultural backdrop for them - there often just isn't space). they’re still there, just different.
(whether there’s any difference between the traditions of boys and girls – I honestly don’t know what to think! tes is in such a weird place gender-wise because it feels like the writers tried to create a world without sexism, or at least in which it was negligible, but then did exactly zero reflection on what the ramifications of that would be on anything ever. I can’t really tell if the social roles there might be different, or how, because the game never says that the roles are different but it also never really challenges player expectations either. so I respectfully bow out of answering that one because it confuses me)
#sorry it took me so long to answer this! had a hectic fucking week#but I finally had time to sit down and think about it!!#thank you for the question. it was really fun to think about. hope you enjoyed my ramble in response#ask#fay talks

What's up?
General collective pick a group tarot reading.
Groups
1 2
3 4
5 6

Group one
So you guys are being excluded or not participating as much socially. Trust it's for good reason. The universe has or is going to give you a gift of some sort. You are also in a pretty good energy as of now. In terms of any mystery or something you don't know or can't see I see you taking proper actions at this time, wether that be moving slow and cautiously or whatever it may be depending on you and what's going on ok. Practice gratitude at this time or you are. Understand that you're future is very bright actually. I heard someone say "you just don't know." So this is someone's guide Im guessing or a spirit speaking on behalf of some of your guides. Either way so it seems that you guys don't understand yet how good you've got it. But seems like you're enjoying the journey and keeping your head up or you got to. Have fun if you feel called. Maybe go sit in the grass outside look at some flowers or something. Go pet someone's dog that's on a walk maybe. Whatever floats your boat. You got a destiny you're going to.
Group two
Seems like a transformation is taking place. Most of you an ending already happened or it is happening. Whatever was left behind, mainly something social it seems , or something about you and how you are presented to others. It could be anything though technically.. believe me what's coming in is superior. It's deeper and more enjoyable. Something about......... That kind of humor so idk ... You guys have developed quite a lot as souls and it's time you get something that matches up with that anyhow. And yah for somee of you it could be a loverr. Yay . Whatever it is it's better than whatever ended or died out what have you. Maybe you ended relationships or just cut chords. Idk basically, death and rebirth and a great majority of you are at least half way through it so get readyy!! If ya aren't already ..
Group three
Something about a bird maybe. Somebody could want a family and or somebody could desire to post things on social media that are basically to flex if it be of them on vacation, them with family, their dinner. Whatever, right.something about bacon and or pork. Maybe about blts. Like, sandwiches.someone from above is watching over you. Be proud of who you are. Something about say(ing) your name. Something about fairness when dealing with other people make sure everything is fair and everyone is content as possible equally. If something dramatic happens it's a test of somebody maybe your own character and how you might go about handling it so keep that in mind.
Group four
Somebody is having dreams they could be nightmares or very confusing or something like that. Most likely some type of distressing . Maybe causing insomnia. I heard sleep apnea. I looked it up apparently that's very shallow breathing while you're sleeping so maybe somebody need to understand nightmares or something could be the cause of that. Either someone needs more love in their life or you know who this is and you need to do something or some things to help them ok. This could just be making sure their waking environment feels more safe and comfortable and less stressful hopefully then they might stop having bad dreams right. Also not just on this but in general, watch out for trying to help people by trying to have them get into what you're into. Like look for this specific thing that I like to do and enjoy this the way I do and you have to feel better like I would. Just give them options and be cool about it, you know ? Offer them a leg up ,I heard. Hmm. This was a cool reading. I hope it helps. Also, if someone snores too much dude just get them something to clear their nose)sinuses it might help a lot.it might have a cool almost minty effect.
Group five
Hmm. Growing, learning, looking towards the future. Right? Well there's still something wrong or missing or something. I get that the past is over, but your emotions might not be so you may have to notice if there's something you have to deal with. Especially if this is trauma or just grief not processed /(all the way)try not to be too guarded or let yourself always find ways to be distracted. Also, it's ok to be angry. It's ok to be hurt. There's nothing wrong with that and there's nothing wrong with you. Look outside of yourself. You're only human. Also , for someone or some people it's something about a toaster... Make sure you guys are eating ok and drinking enough water. If you have a comfort food especially if it's toast or something... You might wanna go for eating that now.
Group six
So you're not getting along with someone or there's someone in your past being brought up right now to me. If something is going on in a relationship make sure you look at it without an ego . If you let someone go or are about to make sure you know that it's worth it and you won't regret that. Especially if this is just some type of miscommunication. I do understand needing to defend yourself especially so people won't look at you in a lower way or treat you worse than you deserve but you might want to be in a calm place and reflect on this deeply. It depends on the specific person what's going on and what to do about it so I'll just say it's up to you guys and just make sure you know what is the right decision and to pick that.

If you were a witch, what kind of a spell would you cast? On who? >> If I ever move beyond the theory space and into the practice space of witchcraft/magic, I think my focus will be more on myself and my own consciousness than other people or my environment.
Do you enjoy autumn leaves or spring flowers more? Why? >> Spring flowers. I just really love flowers, man, it's no more complex than that.
What is your favorite sport to play? What about watch? >> I don't play sports and I don't watch them either, but if I were to watch any, it'd be figure skating. I do watch vids here and there, I just don't have the time+focus to keep up with it like I did when I was a child. Have you ever gone on a cruise before? To where? >> I have not.
What would you do if you were invisible for a day? .
Depending on where you live, why might a day of school get canceled? >> Blizzard.
What types of transportation do you think we will see in the future? .
What were some of your toys you always played with when you were little? >> Tinkertoys and an Erector set, until I built everything in the little booklet and got bored. A talking dollhouse. The paper dolls that I'd make and then cut out clothes for them from various catalogues and magazines. (I mean... hundreds and hundreds of clothes. I think my hobby was less dressing up the dolls than just... making clothes for them. Whole shoeboxes full of little cutout garments. These dolls were the original Shein-haul overconsumers, let me tell you.) And then I got a computer in late childhood and forgot about everything else but that.
If you were a movie star, what would a day in your life be like? >> I cannot properly conceptualise the life of a movie star. If you invented a time machine, what year would you like to go to, and why? .
What is your favorite holiday and why? >> Tu Bishvat. Combines two of my favourite things: Judaism and trees. (Yes, I'm aware I can't celebrate it, but I can still love it, right?)
What is something that you like to do while on vacation? >> I like to just immerse myself in wherever I am. Walk around a lot. Look at stuff. Discover things organically. I don't like having a packed itinerary, I prefer having a couple of key locations to go to and then just exploring or chilling in between.
If you could meet any fictional character from a book, who would it be? >> I'm a soulbonder, I can meet any fictional character I want to if I try hard enough. I think it would be fun to 'bond with Chroma the Great, the conductor of the colour orchestra in The Phantom Tollbooth. I just want to sit there and watch him do his thing 🖤
What are some common places that people tour when they come to your city? >> Uh. Breweries? The general downtown shopping area? I don't know, there's nothing particularly unique and singular about this city, like touristy landmarks or anything. Except maybe, like, ArtPrize, when that's going on.
What’s one food that you did not enjoy as a child, but do as an adult? .
How would having no electricity affect your daily routine? >> It would demolish it. Everything I do requires electricity in some way except, like, using the bathroom.
If you had one wish, what would it be? .
Say someone gives you a magic sweater. What happens when you wear it? .
If you built a new city, how would you convince people to move there? .
What is one of your favorite movies? Why is it one of your favorites? >> Going to name something I haven't named fifty times already: Lisa Frankenstein. It's just so fun and weird and it feeds my little gothy necro-romantic heart. If I had been a teenager when it came out, it would have turned me absolutely insufferable. My entire personality would have been that movie. My trapper keepers would be plastered with printed-out images of undead Cole Sprouse. My fucking god it would have been glorious.
If you were given a certain amount of time to live, would you want to know? >> Absolutely the fuck not.
What would you do if you were able to stop time? >> I don't know, man. That's not something I desire to do.
Do you think that long distance relationships would be for you? >> I do not. I was actually just thinking about how so much faceless/bodyless interaction is bad for me, like, physiologically. I never thought that was a thing for me, but it actually very much is, and half the reason I'm always spiralling out about myself is because I don't get the proper feedback my nervous system requires when like 90% of my social interaction is online. I need to be able to see and feel (not tactically, necessarily, but like... presence-wise) a person at least part of the time for any feelings of safety or connection to really take root.
Is there a popular social media platform that you don’t have an account for? >> Instagram.
How old were you when you found out about Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc? .
Who is your favorite Disney Princess? >> I guess Tiana, by default, but I don't really care for the Princesses. Which freaks you out more - clowns or porcelain dolls? >> I'm not freaked out by either of these things.
What was the last mistake that you learned from? .
Do you prefer “regular pencils” or mechanical ones? Why? >> Always mechanical. As a child I was always annoyed because we weren't allowed to use mechanical pencils in school until a certain grade and I took that shit personally. I have never liked regular pencils, they absolutely disgust me !!!! 😤
What is one little-known music artist you’d recommend? >> Johnny Hexx.
What is your favorite Pixar film? >> Coco or WALL-E. I actually haven't seen many Pixar films, but I don't think I'd be into most of them anyway.
Who was the last person to send you any sort of message on social media? >> I don't remember. Where were you on September 11th, 2001? >> I was in school.
Name your favorite green vegetable. >> This vexes me. I am a known vegetable lover and trying to pick one favourite is like trying to choose a favourite child.
Could you handle a friends with benefits type of situation? >> I do not really understand this situation in the first place. I mean... like, yes, I would love to have a friendship that included sex. I would also love to be friends with the people I (hypothetically) have sex with. However, I don't think "friend with benefits" specifically is a concept that suits me, because it is part of a whole system of amatonormativity and relationship structuring that I don't actually subscribe to.
Do you prefer using a brush or a comb on your hair? >> Even if I had enough hair to comb, I wouldn't comb it. I do like using a boar-bristle brush, it feels nice.
What’s your favorite flavor of potato chips? >> My favourite flavour is Zapp's Voodoo chips. But the kind of chip I eat on a regular basis is actually Meijer brand salt and pepper because I prefer that taste with sandwiches. I am not really into eating chips by themselves even if I like them, so I only get the Voodoo chips occasionally, when I'm in the mood for that.
Would you rather build a snowman or a snow fort? Why? >> I don't know, I have no experience with building either. (Wild thing for someone who has always lived in a place that gets snowfall to say, but I never learned how to do it and at this point I don't even care anymore because I am so existentially tired of winter.)
At what age do you believe children should begin having screen time? .
If you had to give a speech, what would it be on? >> I don't want to give a speech. On anything.

Could we get a behind the scenes on your process of making paper hermits? How do you decide what poses to make them in and how do you get them to stand so nicely? Making comics is already impressive but making them interact with the real world baffles and astounds me
yeah ofc!! i don't have a lot of images of the process unfortunately, but i can for sure try and explain it more through words ^^
so, the most important step for me when i'm making them is visualizing what i want the final image to look like beforehand. rather than focusing on drawing the characters first and then figuring out how to stick them in the environment later, i treat the idea like it's something i'm gonna draw in its entirety (background and all), if that makes sense! like for the comics, i've been first sketching out quick thumbnails for each panel to get an idea of the composition and whatnot so it looks natural later on. basically: the poses just come from imagining how i'd draw them if they were in a normal 2D background.
it also helps me to try to frame the images like i'm mimicking shots from a cartoon or something? it's a little difficult when the irl landscape doesn't line up but that's what i've been going for! like with the desertduo comic in particular.
i've also been scouting out the exact spots i'm gonna put the paper guys before making them, so i can draw them in relation to the stuff around them. and when i do that i also take pictures of the spot with some random object in place of the drawing so i can reference how large to draw them for scale.
i've used a bunch of different methods to stand them up, depending on what i had on-hand... my favorite was taping metal wire (like for making bracelets) to the back of them and bending it around whatever they were standing on (kind of like a tail??). i've also made little paper stands to tape on the back of them, though that was a bit harder to balance.
thank you for the kind words also!! i like putting a ton of thought into my art so this project has been a fun practical challenge for me. hopefully that makes some sense but if it doesn't feel free to ask again ^^

🔥pokemon?
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
Alola sucks as a region. This is mostly unrelated to the quality of the games themselves (except for me; I really, really care about exploration). But Hawai'i is incredibly rich and diverse with all kinds of wonderful environments to explore, such that every new route could be completely unique. They did that with Kalos, and that's France! But instead, it feels like practically everything is just walking along a dirt path with some grass on the side. I feel like I'm in Kanto again; why, exactly, do I have the impression that I'm in the suburbs of Tokyo rather than in the tropics? Hoenn provides a much better island-type experience than Alola does, and it had the restrictions of the GBA to deal with; the only reason I can think of for Alola being, physically, so boring is simple development time restrictions.
There's also basically no exploration- a much steeper dropoff than the dropoff between BW2 and XY, actually, where XY has plenty of exploration but mostly you have to seek it out, but BW2 has a good deal of mandated exploration. The complete lack of a Victory Road is so obviously not a plot thing, it's a poor game design thing. And in general, there are no "places to go". Surf is useful in like 1 or 2 places, and there's nothing interesting to find there; there's 1 or 2 caves with mid items in them; the Vast Poni Canyon is what would be an earlygame cave in any earlier Pokemon game. Every time I went to a new island I was always hoping that I'd get to see some awesome new environments, but it was always fucking grass and dirt paths again. Barely even in a different color sometimes.
There are a couple interesting set pieces, especially on Ula'ula; Po Town and Ula'ula Meadow are pretty. However, there's still not a lot to do in either of those places, despite their better aesthetic appeal than the rest of the game, and compared to Akala or Melemele, you really don't spend a lot of time on Ula'ula at all.
This isn't even getting into the towns and cities; there's absolutely nothing to do in them. After Lumiose in XY and the faithfully recreated (and somewhat added to) cities in ORAS, you really feel the absence of anything interesting to explore. The shops, of course, sell generally kind of awful clothing; I promise there is tropical stuff you can sell that does not look ungodly, and I should know- one of my colleagues wears intentionally loud Hawaiian shirts every day from April to October, and has a tie-dyed lab coat. But let's get back to the cities. They generally don't have anything differentiating them from each other besides the aesthetic! There's not anything notable that you can do in Heahea that you can't do in Konikoni, and nothing notable that you can do in Konikoni that you can't do in Heahea. This started to be a problem in XY to an extent; there are places like Anistar, for example, that kind of just exist to be set pieces. But there also aren't really any interesting people to interact with in the cities, either. You don't have to have a bunch of sidequests- god knows I certainly don't give much of a damn about sidequests- but let me get an item or two, have interestingly decorated houses, have a place I can go with a nice view, have someone tell me a legend. That's really all I ask for.
Sun and Moon have a lot to like outside of the region- the Pokemon are really cute, and the characters are, well, they're OK for Pokemon I guess. The island trials are also a fun spin on the gym challenges. But overall, when I play Pokemon to be immersed in a world, Alola is really the place where the idea of that world began to fall apart for me. I thought for a while that it was just me getting older and jaded, but I played Legends Arceus, and while I have a lot of gripes with that game's gameplay, I can safely say Nope! The world there immersed me. Different areas had plenty of different things to do, and the one town was excellently developed. Alola and its successors just aren't very immersive regions.

Keishin 100% dude, arguing and then realizing feelings then confessing mid argue? So keishin vibes
45 and 46 :p
HI AGAIN ANON SO it’s been a few days (so sorry about that btw.) And i have. Possibly the funniest news. i was thinking really hard about your ask and how to approach it because i tend to sort of…draft scenarios in my head before actually answering my asks? and i was like. hmmmmmm idk why im having such a tough time with this! i feel like no matter what i do it ends up feeling forced! and i genuinely DONT know how to tell you this but I THINK YOUR ASK MADE ME REALIZE YTR SHIN IS AROMANTIC????? LIKE I. I GENUINELY DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY. THIS WASNT INTENTIONAL. I JUST REALIZED IT.
like ok i know im the creator of this au and i can do whatever with the characters. but sometimes i feel like the characters are actually doing whatever they want to and im like a haggard reporter chasing after them trying to figure out what’s going on.
that said i still really wanted to answer this ask because i think it’s interesting and also because ive already put you through the ringer with the light mode debacle (😭) so its still keiji and shin but a more…platonic take on these prompts?? I HOPE THATS OKAY AUUUAUAUAU;;;
anyways just to offer you a bit of background: keiji and shin are a super interesting duo in ytr to me! keiji takes hinako’s spot, meaning he’s a human who tries to blend in with the dummies. if shin lives, he actually gets paired up with him (i know that doesnt actually fit the role swap but i wanted to anyways because they are the parallel characters of all time to me). i definitely see their relationship starting off with mutual suspicion, with shin being suspicious of keiji’s behaviors (what with him secretly being a double-agent for asunaro n all here <.<) and keiji being suspicious of shin kind of splitting off from the rest of the group. yet, i also see this evolving into a sort of mutual intrigue— they’re both invested in trying to Detective each other out and figure out What This Guy’s Deal Is.
a moment for 45-46 would, to me, definitely take place after it’s revealed that the dummies’ goal is to kill their partners. if shin already didn’t trust keiji, he would certainly not after knowing this info (i mean, come on, mr. 0.0% over here…). and i can TOTALLY see them getting into an argument over that, since a conflict of interests would be born from keiji wanting to keep an eye on shin while shin just wants to be Left The Hell Alone.
i think keiji would make the argument that if shin was really so worried about being targeted, why doesn’t he just make the first move to take out keiji? to which shin would be like are you stupid? then ryoko and everyone else would want me dead. to which keiji would point out…buddy….they kind of already do. he can Sense the antagonism in the air just from how ryoko and shin interact.
he then takes it a step further to observe that shin cant trust anyone, but he doesnt have it in him to betray anyone either. shin would actually be caught off guard at this, but also be like “bitch you too” and say that keiji also hasn’t trusted anyone, hasn’t revealed practically anything about himself.
i think this is where the “realization” part kicks in. shin desperately DOES want to trust others, in this case he even *does* like keiji, but he’s so terrified of letting anyone in (ESPECIALLY after the 2nd main game) when it’s so much easier to push people away.
i think…they’d be able to be a bit candid here. realizing that they’re at a bit of an impasse, i think keiji would be the first to open up a little about Why he acts this way (more of the traumatic past stuff, less of the asunaro stuff for. obvious reasons 💀) and shin would mutually confess how he felt about the death game and that he wants to trust keiji but just feels like he can’t.
the real fun (tragic) part is that i think after having a conversation like this shin would feel hopeful!!!! that maybe even in this awful environment he could find someone he might be able to call a friend(????!!!!) but of course that’s cut short because keiji dies in the banquet 💥💥💥 hence why this is the Worst time for him to realize he actually doesn’t think this guy is half bad. sorry i love making shin suffer </3
ok yeah i. i know this isnt really keishin. sorry anon </3 but shin aro icon remains true and real in my heart forever
#princesseevee answers#ask games#your turn ryoko#shin tsukimi#keiji shinogi#i feel like i let you down for a third time i am genuinely so sorry 😭#i just unintentionally heavily aro coded shin#ok small ramble because i love this headcanon ive decided#i feel like hed mistake his desire for platonic intimacy as wanting romance#and then he’d realize. he just does not feel that way about anyone#he just want friends. and hugs. and honestly he’s so so real for that#im not projecting i swear i swear i swear
