So you know all of the people who think that Cavetown might be autistic because of the lyrics to “this is home”? As an autistic, I’d like to call attention to another lyric.

This might be about stimming. I’d like to clarify that I am in no way qualified to be diagnosing people, and this is only my personal theory, but as someone who is surrounded by a lot of other autistic people (all of my friends are either queer or autistic, there is only one exception), I think that this might be another hint that Cavetown is autistic. First, there are those lyrics in This is Home, second, there are studies saying that trans and gay people are way more likely to be autistic, and this lyric in 888. I’m not him, I don’t know the stories behind these lyrics, but this is how I interpreted them.

I just need to say this somewhere.

I want to be on the receiving end of an emotional embrace. Several of my friends have been going through a lot of shit lately. Me too. I’ve been looking out for all my friends, making sure they’re okay, losing sleep over their issues, being there for them when they need it. I need someone to be there for me. I need a hug where I can just cry.

I’m fucking exhausted. I need someone to check on me the way I check on my friends. I need to be able to fall apart in someone else’s arms. I need a friend.
