I can’t stop thinking about this one post who claims that in the last few years the most popular hermits are the ones on the life series, if you’re not in the life series good luck having solo fanart or fics. And they’re right.

False’s popularity has been steady especially due to her domination in mcc and joining empires season 2 but art of her season in hermitcraft? Rare. Especially if it’s solo art cause I’ve seen a lot of False with another hermitcraft such as Ren or Pearl or Gem. She just doesn’t seem to be around as much in the tumblr tags compared to three years ago.

A while back I checked the hermitcraft sub reddit for their top posts, a lot was season 6/7 and there is so much fanart of Keralis, Iskall, Stress and xB! Not just them with other people but solo art! Yes I can still find that here on tumblr but it involves me digging through tags. And boy if you look at the notes compared to a recent solo Grian or solo Scar art it’s nothing. Now you can argue that it’s based on how much they upload but xB uploads regularly and there’s not a lot of hermit fanart compared to him and Grian and the later uploads way less! He has nearly twice the amount of hermitcraft videos as Grian and the motherfucking British man hasn’t uploaded a hermitcraft episode since early September!

But yet I see more hermitcraft fanart of Grian in the last month than xB. I get it because of subscriber count but come on people, xB is more active but nope, bird beats fish.

And like Rendog I would say has constant fanart but when he wasn’t acting as the king on hermitcraft, the time between double and wild life Ren fanart was going down. It was still a lot but because he wasn’t in the life series and slowed down on hermitcraft videos due to real life stuff the art went down.

But if you join the life series then expect twice the amount of love. Gem joins, she then joins a base area that has life series players in and suddenly she skyrockets to be one of the favourite hermits. Ignore that Joe hills or StressMonster has been here for so long, Gem joined the life series therefore she has to be a fan fav.

“Oh but Doc is still popular! Same as Cub!” That’s because they regularly interact with life series players. Cub has Scar and now the permit office workers. He’s not out hanging with Keralis or Hypno a lot like xB. Doc kind of keeps to himself and interacts with nearly everyone but if there’s a storyline it’s gonna be with a life series member. Joe hill is only midly popular due to the mcytblr sexyman comp and his long time friendship with Cleo, another life series member. You don’t see fanart of him with Welsknight or Iskall.

And fucking Iskall man… I saw so much love for him for season 6 and 7 but the moment he had burn out or want making as much content with Mumbo and Grian he just kind of disappeared in fanart and fics. You’re gonna have an angst fic with Grian and only Scar or Mumbo can help him? Dude was so buddy buddy with Iskall where is he?

And lastly when it comes to season 10 of hermitcraft if you’re not part of the Cherry guys or the post office in regard to bases, you’re not getting any attention. Where’s the love for xB’s new and improved ocean monument? You all love guardian!xB yet nothing on his season 10. Where’s the love for the village people? It has so many hermits together but oh there’s only two life series players and one of them hasn’t been in since double life so no love for them.

I’m just tired of the life series being so connected to hermitcraft because it affected the popularity so much…

That post can’t get out of my head because they’re right.

Searing Pink Skies (2024 Version)

Yesterday, June 8th, was Rhazz's birthday, so you know what that means! It's time for my yearly Rhazz and Agouti birthday/pride month piece!! It is a time honored tradition here in the Tacoma Nation to blast you all with Lesbian Dragons at least once a year :3

Lots of ramblies abt them plus the original piece that this is a redraw of, and some additional goodies, are below the cut :3

Rhazz and Agouti were my first ever LGBTQ+ OC pairing when I paired them together back in November of 2018 and as you can see, I still love them very much today <33 I'm super happy with how this piece came out, especially since it's a redraw! I wanted to redraw that first ever piece I did of them together from 2018, which is below if you want to see it! That piece still holds up as one of my all time favs and I love how this one looks side by side with the old one <3 I think my redraw of my original Vostok piece from abt two weeks ago got me thinking abt redrawing other old pieces, so here we are hehe.

But it's also Rhazz's birthday! (Or at least it was yesterday lol) I may not show it very often here, but those of you who've followed me on Insta (or WoFA god forbid lmao) for a long time will know that Rhazz is my all time fav WoF OC :3 She's one one of my biggest comfort OCs and pairing her with Agouti just made me like her all the more haha. Her design and personality are based on the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, which is also one of my fav, aesthetics I guess you could say ?? Idk lol but I love her so much, so be sure to wish Rhazz a happy bday!! I've had her for 6 years now omg!!

found out last night that Somerset House in London had an art exhibit a few months ago entitled "Cute." and my work was in it. i was not contacted about or informed of this at all...

i'm not like. mad ? more like confused ? they did, in fact, credit me, which is why i found out, and i guess they did pay me since the thing they displayed was some of my bandaid stickers that you can purchase from my etsy... i'm mostly confused that they didn't think to tell me my stuff would be in it. also if i wasn't told about this then i'm sure the other artists included in the same subsection weren't as well and imo that really sucks :(

also a little turned off cuz the exhibit apparently opened with big pics of AI generated cats.... thats a whole other thing but like. that combined with not contacting me is a lil 🤨

minor gripe that does not matter at all but the uh bandaid set of mine that they put on display is my least favorite one and one that i only had up on my shop for a couple of months 😭😭 i kept having printer issues w it so i took it down... they talk about yamikawaii but didn't even use my set that's specifically named after the style ! and they didn't even put my fav sticker from the set they DID use out ! like did you not like my silly kitty bandaid enough to put it on display ?? rude smh

also i dunno... it might've been nice to have been compensated more than the like $6 the bandaids cost on my shop... oh well. would've also been nice to know about it while it was on going ! and not like three months after it ended ! (not like i could've gone anyway i live on a completely different continent)

Adding ocean waves out of hot glue! this was something I figured out a long time ago like a year before I made this piece; I was hot gluing two pieces of cardboard for something else but then was like uhhh nope nevermind and tried to rip the cardboard apart again. I was like woahh the 'ripped apart' hot glue looks like ocean waves... So I kept that in my back pocket and tadaah in this piece I got to use my fun lil technique c:

I do wish I hadn't used fishing line to attach the clock hands though lol; conceptually I was like ah its hanging precariously thats why I don't want to like glue a lil stand to the back of it so it sticks out. But. I think it just looks bad lol it's too visible while trying to be invisible haha

Here's how I wrote about this piece back in 2020 for my ib art class:

After spending 6 months in a pandemic, the boundaries of time were blurring even more than usual. I was trying to come to terms with my last year of highschool, my unstable-looking future, and what felt like the ending of the world all happening simultaneously. I found an unused 2019 planner I kept, inspiring me to use it. I also wanted to experiment with an unintentional discovery I made in 2018: pressing hot glue between two surfaces and pulling them apart quickly makes the glue look like ocean waves. The sea resembles a crescent moon and the shore, the sun. Broken seashells and glass symbolize struggles, and whole seashells and sequins symbolize successes in everyday life. I love putting unassuming phrases into different contexts to create a greater impact, so I used a part of the planner’s “please return to” message on its front page. I suspended the clock hands above the painting to represent time on a grander scale, never to be fully understood by the smallness of human life.

Don't feel bad it's okay no worries! I don't think I talk about my writing nearly as much and didn't link my tumblr until my Zukka era so it's no problem at all. So happy you enjoyed the "I'm Awkward" fic(why did I give it such a long name?). This is gonna sound so evil but when I wrote that, my entire goal was converting people to like AkaFuri lol. My entire thought process was "How do I keep this as close to canon as I can, while also making this ship a thing?". Not sure if I was actually realistic to canon but it was a fun ride!

THIS IS YOUR FAULT FOR MAKING ME THINK ABOUT TRANSFORMERS AGAIN its one of my favourite franchises bc there are really NOT MANY characters who i am neutral on or dont like. ive singled out dozens of tf characters over the years to be the fave for a bit and rotated them in my brain for a few months, its actually easier to list the characters that i dont like than the ones i do. i do have some favs but theres stil like. 10 that i couldnt choose between. probably soundwave, sunstreaker, ratchet, vortex, deathsaurs, tracks, steeljaw (rid), spinister (idw), perceptor, fort max, skywarp, thATS MORE THAN 10 ALREADY BUT U GET IT

i actually have 5-6 a4 notebooks just FULL of transformers drawings, little comics of g1 episodes and character designs and stuff, its all from a few years ago before i started digital art but i should really redraw some of it bc ill never get tired of transformers.

and actually, i was wondering what to draw today so MAYBE some transformers stuff. i loved g1 for how absolutely insane it was, ive never seen a show with so many lines said like jokes that were just. not jokes and usually made GENUINELY no sense. not sure i ever laughed at a joke in that show but i do remember being in literal tears over animation errors, wild lines, weird noises, and plotlines that make no sense whatsoever. do not watch g1 with hopes of getting it, but i do watch it to laugh at the show itself

gameplay wise its kinda interesting that they opt to have no music in a lot of parts n i feel like i'd get super lost if i was playing myself but i'm watching a translation so watevar the other stuff is more important

it's a 2018 game (i'm pretty sure?) but it reminds me sooooooooo much of 2012 rpg horror games n i say this positively n there's not that many eng fans either so it's like a game w an old soul to me lmao

this game really got me thinking at points. i like how i was able to figure out shinano was origin b without/before karen's hint, the twist w reiji n haruki made me go Whoa (it also made me scared of the fandom bc :/ )

i drew comparisons to the phantom anime again; the situation with the flowers in the novel sounds very similar to the situation with the spiders in the anime at least on the surface. maybe it won't have the same outcome for atsukai but tbh i feel like he's gonna die?

this is the number one song by far for this month. I know Reno is not the original artist but the uploaded version was the saviour of my life. it's taken down again but I loved every single second I spent with this song. so beautiful, such a passionate piece of art. if you want to listen, it's up again but for real this time! it's September by Sparky Deathcap.

2. Burn by David Kushner

this song is a banger. I've listened to it before but the lyrics are so fitting now. one of my old friends reached out to me about his breakup and the situation he ended up in. I immediately recommended this to him, we bonded over it but it's such a crazy story.

3. Come out to La by DON BROCO

I'm attending a Sleeping with Sirens concert soon and this band is playing with them. I was curious as to what the other band must be like. I immediately fell in love with this song and am listening to it on repeat getting more & more excited with every day passing by.

this is such a masterpiece. I found it on tiktok a thousand years ago and was waiting for it to be released. I wasn't disappointed by the whole song as it has this weird, magical vibe all throughout the song.

I had some pretty rough days this january. I needed support and this boy - as always - provided me with comfort and what feel like unlimited love through his songs. I am deeply in love with the passion Will has for making music and adore him, & the way that his albums are always coming back to me when I feel a bit sad/fed up.

I was at my bf's house for new years eve and spent a whole week together at the beginning of january. he has a very interesting music taste. a massive chunk of our fav songs are the same and he's reminding me of songs I've already forgotten from time to time. it's so lovely and special to share these minutes, our memories and love.

rough days. let me tell you they were quite powerful in the moody, cloudy mornings and late nights I have because of work. I hold onto this song whenever I feel hope slipping away from me and it always helps me. also, I made some huge decisions, so I'm pretty hopeful about the future but I'm also a bit frightened as well. we'll see, but let's hope for the best.

8. Misery Business by Paramore

"all I wanted was you" was the line that never got out of my head after our new years' party. we were listening to music from our teenager years and childhood and nostalgia hit real hard. I love the vibes this one has!
