you had woken up that morning, feeling groggy and absolutely exhausted. you checked the time to see it was 3am, and the overwhelming feel of your stomach absolutely pounding felt horrible.

you ran to the bathroom, hurling over to the toilet feeling all of the fluids from your body dispose. tears came into your eyes from the unexpected turn. you layed yourself on the bathroom floor, hating so badly the feeling of being sick.

picking up the phone, you decided to call your boyfriend alex, he’s the only person that could make you feel better at this moment.

“hi my love. what’s going on, it’s like 2 am there or somethin.”

you could hear his smile through the screen, which clearly left after you started crying a little being in pain, you were in obvious distress as you started speaking.

“i feel really really bad, and my stomach hurts, and i’m on the bathroom floor, and i can’t think of anything but the pain and-“

you started rambling, not even thinking before you spoke as you just wanted him to know how bad everything felt like it was going in the span of 5 minutes. he then stops you mid sentence,

“hey, hey, baby. it’s okay, listen to me. do you have any tylenol?”

you barely lift your head up, trying to be a little closer to the speaker of the phone.

“i think so?..”

he sighs a little bit, keeping the gentle tone in his voice.

“okay, sweet girl when you feel like you can get up, go and take that medicine okay? i’m so sorry mi vida, you know i want to be there right now with you.”

you want to keep him from worrying, he’s visiting family right now and you know if you ask he will immediately go and buy a plane ticket to see you.

the next morning you see 7 unread messages from your beloved boyfriend. all of them are him being worried, asking how you are. you go into the facetime app, clicking onto his contact.

the phone could barely go into the first ring before he answers.

“hey my love. how are you feeling?”

you shrug to yourself, you know that your stomach still feels as shitty as it did before. you wanted to be honest, just not as detailed.

“not too good babe, not going to lie. but i do feel better, thank you for suggesting the tylenol last night it helped, i promise.”

he looks at me, like i’m some poor stray puppy on the street.

“you do know i can come there right now? i can get a ticket, you know what let me get my computer i’ll schedule a day-“

you stop him, not wanting your sickness to mess up his plans.

“no. alex your family has been waiting for months to see you, they’ll be so upset even if they don’t show it.. you know that.”

he doesn’t want to admit that you are right, and he definitely wouldn’t want an argument while your already feeling horrible.

“okay, you know what, sure. but is your stomach feeling okay? did you throw up again?”

you turn over to the other side of the bed, as it felt cooler. when you got sick, your body always felt as if it was overheating.

“nu uh. my tummy still hurts, but no throw up.”

he snickers a little bit past the phone.

“tummy?”

“shut up.”

“i’m kiddingggg.”

you scoff a little rolling your eyes. you had a 101 fever, did he really think you were in the mood?

“your not funny.”

he smirks a little, then tries to actually talk to you.

“i’m sorry baby, im sorry. i know you feel bad right now, get some sleep okay? call me when you wake up.”

the day had its regular pattern throughout. you had been binge watching disney movies, as you felt there was literally nothing else to do. alex would call or text checking up, and always would hang up so you could watch your movie.

“hey sweet girl, what movie are we on right now?”

you held onto your pillow, adjusting the heating pad on your stomach.

“uhmmm. i’m currently on the lion king.”

he laughs a little at the tiredness in your voice, it made you sound adorably exhausted.

that night you felt yourself getting sick once again. your stomach had been your enemy for what seemed to you like forever. it’s as if he has a boyfriend sense, as he called you right as you felt yourself getting sick.

“hi baby! what are we feeling like?”

he asks oh so enthusiastically, which was the polar opposite of how you were at that moment. you sniffle a little.

“i feel..so bad..”

he pouts to hear your raspy little voice so sad and hurt. he immediately speaks up.

“oh my poor sweet girl.. what hurts right now?”

you couldn’t even think of one thing right now, as it felt like knives were coming in at every single direction.

“everything.”

he looks at you with honestly such a sad little look on his face. he tries to talk a little quieter, trying to be as confronting as he knew how to.

“it’s going to be okay my love.. take some more medicine, and we can talk for however long you want to alright? i love you so much, and im so sorry..”

for the next two days, you made sure he knew you were alright, wanting him to calm down as you were the top thing in his mind. the pattern went on until you did actually feel better, and when he came home, he was over the top in showing his love.

youre so real bro i think i almost cried during the episode😭😭 im also like completely stuck, because like im in huge denial that uts ace for obvious reasons, and hust. eden makes so much SENSE. but im not sure if she actually does or if its just me being biased so im super conflicted. ofc ill always believe in eden culprit or third party yntil its WITHOUT A DOUBT ace, and probably even then ill still deny it.

ive been trying to come to terms with it but man, this has just hit me oht of left field and i was so unprepared for him to be on the chopping block this early.

and yeahh, that one signular acevid interaction was my one win😭 lowkey hoping they get some more interactions throughout this trial, considering david has been the inly person to defend ace even slightly. as for acevi..yeah, im soo...it was definitely a moment! i think now i defintiely prefer them as a tragedy type relationship, especially on aces part.

Chapter 2 Episode 14 Spoilers! Plus Eden/Ace Culprit discussion.

Pretty much agree with allllll of this. Eden makes more sense as a culprit to me personally, both narratively and logically, but I’m getting really scared for Ace. I was so sure the logic of him taking the tape didn’t make sense that I sorta figured everything else didn’t matter, but now the narrative is treating it like it would possibly make sense so I’m at a loss…Why would he even grab the tape?? I’ve heard every counter-argument known to man and still don’t think any of them explain it…I really wanna ramble about it here but idk if people want to see me do that again, haha. But I guess one thing I will say is that Teruko said they can’t assume the culprit worked logically, so maybe the reason will be that he took it just…because, with no real reason. That would be a little unsatisfying, but I genuinely don’t think any explanation makes sense. (Must contain rant ahhhh—)

As for Acevid, I can at least take comfort in the fact that if Ace actually manages to hold his ground for forty-five minutes, it’s probably because David (plus maybe Levi) is doing most of the talking. Like Min barely lasted twenty minutes, so Ace doubling that all by himself would be very funny and ironic for a ‘dumb’ character to do, but also kinda unlikely.

Ace seems like the type to definitely start falling apart mentally and breaking down reeeeally fast if he’s actually the culprit, so if he is the culprit I’m surprised he’s even made it this far into the trial without any major outbursts not surrounding the almost murder. He was even kinda chill (for his standards) about the Levi debacle, not much yelling at all. But all this is to say if he’s the culprit and Teruko starts grilling him for answers…yeeeeeeah my guess is he’ll end up just panicking or yelling while someone else tries to help or bring up counter-arguments. If he’s not the culprit, maybe he’ll have enough left in him to make some sort of defense by himself (I personally think Levi will try to help either way, though).

This man can indeed not catch a break. After going to a school he didn’t even want to attend, he was kidnapped, put in a killing game, had the person he thought was his friend betray him, almost got murdered, and now is getting blamed for a different murder because he had the misfortune of being almost murdered. Sure, he’s not blameless in it all, but it still really sucks for him. I’m half-expecting him to be revealed to have a version of Teruko-luck down the line if he survives haha.

heyyy zoe! as usual i was thinking of ellie and giggling like an idiot :3 so, again, here i am with my amazing thoughts.

we all know that ellie's a gamer. (plays the said game for eight hours straight every day and after a week she abandons it for the next four months). yeah. but i think she is a passionate, commited and super driven minecraft player. like she's extremely focused. also i think she'd talk to the game/the characters of the game that she plays, but when it comes to minecraft she goes silent. lips zipped shut. for hours and hours until she beats it, again, for the nth time.

one day she BEGS you to play together when you're on a call with her or something, and you say yes because how could you not. but as soon as you enter the game, boom. her character's out of sight. where did she go? who knows, you obviously don't <3 then she finds tons of resources in like twenty minutes and a village, she types the coordinates in the chat and you type "???" back at her. and you try your best to find the village that she's at, but your character is now starving, it's night time, you have nothing on you but a crafting table, birch planks (FUCKING BIRCH PLANKS) in your inventory <3 and she's like soo sassy in the chat it's insane. "babe i sent you the coords" "its been hours" "do i have to come get you omfg" but it quickly turns to "omg theres a cat here im adopting it its ours now" "cmere fast she misses her mommy" "i do too"

and you actually see the village, after a long night of dodging arrows and spiders and munching on raw chicken. and you're like sprinting towards it, but your character gets hungry again so now you're walking, and there's a creeper following, and you're panicking. aaand it blows you up <3 and there's a little "NOo mommy :(" "that was the cat btw" in the chat.

This chapter was sooo sweet! Armin worrying about his pregnant wife warms my heart🥺. And Mikasa’s text marriage to Eren, and how he felt that he had already gotten his gift 😣 pulling on my dear heart strings.  

Also mason is so sassy or maybe I’m just focusing too much on his antics, but he’s soo funny lol.

 Mikasa putting adri and masons picture in her locket!! That was soooo sweet, and just really shows what kind of person Mikasa is. She’s better than me cause with Adris attitude I wouldn’t have been able to deal with her for 5 minutes 😭. But maybe that’s because I’m not a really patient person.

 I really hope the Yeager women come around soon ( although I saw you say somewhere that adris the last one to shift her feelings) and it already seems like Carla’s softening up! Kinda. 

I get how adri feels about feeling like her moms being “replaced” as a step-daughter my self I have some pretty crazy story’s about how I used to act towards my stepmom.  I hope what zeke said to her sticks, but knowing toddlers I give it 10 minutes until Mikasa’s name gets mentioned again and she freaks out lol.

Okay, so ao3 wasn't being weird for just me! Last night and this morning it kept timing out while I was trying to prepare the chapters last night and then post this morning. I ended up trying it on my phone and luckily it worked because I did not want to have to try to get the word out to everyone that the chapter would be delayed due to technical difficulties.

Mikasa truly is a saint when it comes to Adri, but also I think she just understands that Adri is a little kid and has no filter and doesn't really get a lot of what goes on around her.

And you're right that Adri would totally listen spellbound to Zeke just to turn around and go back to her same old war against Mikasa, but I think she might internalize the message a bit. I've noticed little kids will hear something, never talk about it, but then bring it up out of nowhere several months later. Like, they need all those weeks to process it and put it together first. So even if it has no immediate effect, I think it started some things turning for her. We'll just have to wait and seeee.

god probably like 5 minutes. e's usually extremely organised about eir day (to the point where like first thing e does in the morning is arrange a schedule/checklist of things to do) and in like the little moments where e's got nothing to do e will just run through things e's been working on and just like. progress from where e last left off even if it wasn't in the day's plan. conversely when e's like in a situation where e just Has to sit still and do nothing e'll get extremely antsy and stressed. like e hates waiting in line for things and will just like. complain to emself in eir mind about it. just gets soo annoyed

41. How do they feel about children? (olzhas)

oughh e's got the thing where e like. believes e's a bad influence and is just irrationally scared of coming into contact with them but e's like quite literally one of the most responsible people out of the entire cast and could like. decently look after a child. e's not fond of very young kids but like. e's got that 'really good grade school teacher' type temperament and is consciously way less abrasive around younger people than e is with anyone else just because e's like. very aware of eir position as an older guy who has the ability to maintain maturity even if the younger person e's talking to can't. and e's not like mean about it. thinking about it textually e is very attentive to like. somsak and dalisay in that precise way. though theyre older teens so it is just like. general respect for young people i think. i do think the entire teacher comparison is apt like e could not stand to be a primary caretaker but would both like. be good at and enjoy just supporting children in a more auxiliary manner

OUGHH okay so. freya and isel both have the thing of just like. being overly jolly and whimsical all the time. will literally just laugh in the middle of a conversation, whether because they just like randomly remember something funny or quite literally just to fill empty air. and theyre just kind of like that naturally but its like even worse when theyre together because theyre trying to make each other laugh and theyve got like. very good sense about it. they'll just drop in an inside joke and the other will howl with laughter soooo fucking easily and they will make each other laugh by laughing. so its just the worst ouroboros ever.

olzhas is kind of an outlier in cassiopeia in that regard because e likes to be all serious and most of like. the 'laughing' e does casually is sarcastic or dismissive. just like a heh when someone says something stupid to em. BUT when e's with isel and freya e's just completely touched by their senses of humor. so much so e's just regularly brought to tears or lightheadedness over stupid bits. niceys to me....

dalisay is the type of person to like. rarely laugh out loud but sie actually is humored really easily by completely innocuous things. often just hir own thoughts are enough to get hir to smile but like. it takes a lot to even get hir to giggle. stupid programming jokes are often what works

beatrix laughs super easily but its often like. ingenuine or just an absentminded thing he does without much thought. will laugh very easily at very stupid jokes told by anyone though and hes a bit embarrassed about it

WELL considering somsak broke multiple to get onto the train i think none of them mean anything to him. freya's also generally just like. 'follows the rules so long as they benefit her' type person, but once one gets in the way she will like. find a way to tiptoe around it. she kind of just finds the overall idea of like 'oh yeah heres immutable things you MUST follow because some greater authority said so' kind of stupid so. again doesnt have much respect for rules in general if they dont make sense to her.

marjolaine though.... kind of touchy for him lol. has the thing of being just like. compete coward pacifist type guy and will just hide between frameworks. would probably bring them up if someone goes against them but will also like. disobey the same one and expect nobody to comment on it. just weird contradictions...

HEY. answering this one some other time because ill have to think about it and get sad but as a general blanket answer just like. stuff that reminds them of where they used to live. like cas will always just adore crowded cities thuyết will always be deeply fond of seaside views.... everyone has probably spent some time just like visiting their hometowns and stuff through fornax and its very bittersweet.

GOD isel has a stupid thing where he probably thinks he looks great in like. green or something. but he's like "oh its such a good color on me i have to save it for special occasions. i can wear a green dress once a year to dazzle everyone" whatever the fuck and its just like. completely mid in the end. people are way too used to him wearing warm colors. so am i

valerie is a bit more sensible about it and indeed thinks like. pinks and purples are good on them. is probably very particular about shades like theyre picky about their purples being blue-ish and the pinks leaning on magenta, usually doesnt like very faint pastel tones... shit like that. but they can balance practically anything and make it look nice haha

hmm i think its a bit less straightforward and its like. they will remember things IF they apply a weird rhythm to the way they list things. weird thing to explain so i will be blunt about it its based on a thing i have where i can just instinctually tell if i have listed 8 of something because my inflection changes due to like. compulsions of having to count to 8 and i just slip into it when listing stuff mentally. so probably has something like that LOL doesnt really have any tricks for remembering specifics but is good with amounts

Assorted Last unicorn rewatch thoyghts/ gravity falls critique

Okay i had a double feature with the gravity falls commentary track where alex hirsch trashed the last unicorn and then the last unicorn. In all fairness feom the way he described the movie I dont think he has seen it in 20+ years. But also its funny that he shit on it in the commentary track for one of the worst grabity falls episodes. The fucking last mabelcorn. They made the episode in the last liek five minutes and it shows. He calls it bad and treats it like a guilty pleaure thing but fuck you. Quality wise the last unicorn is runnint circles around this episode. It remains entertaining throughout which is more then I can say for a lot of grabity falls episodes in the later half of season 2. Saying this from my memory of watching it when I was 12 fyi. Also its kinda silly to compare an hour and a half movie to a tv show with two seasons. Like apples and oranges. But what I will say is that the last unicorn reaches higher highs.

That being said by someone who would consider the last unicorn one of her favorite movies. All of the characters are like flawed in differsnt ways byr all decently likeable. Even the king who is literally holding a whole population of creatures captive is pretty sympathetic. Or at least moreso than he might be in other films of a similar age demographic. The entire thing with the unicorn losing herself to the illusion was delightful. Its all the tropes I really love. And its funny that is what alex hirsch focused on as a major point. The whole horror of it just went over his head. I could probably make some argument yow uis misreading of the unicorn and total blindness to molly can say something for how gravity falls writes its women characters. I could also day its funny how this parallels a lot of the ways people treat mabel. Being hyper critical of a (usually girl)character due to a desire to go against the norm presented. It kinda reminds me of what happened to scrappy doo in the james gun scooby doo movie. But ya know scrappy do was actuslly annoying lets not kid ourselves. The unicorn did nothing wrong amd now theres this smear campaign against her. Funded by the disney corporation. I kid.

I do not have a gender studys major nor do I have enough knowledge to accurately say if gravity falls is a little sexist. I feel like so much of wendy's screentime is devoted to her relationship to dipper and or robbie. She never really gets to feel like a natural part of the group dynamic. She has nice interactions with other characters she just doesbt get that many plots focused on her. At least in comparrison to soos who gets full episodes about him/his backstory and like just gets more b plots. The fee b plots wendy does get are like about dippers crush on her or robbie being a shitty boyfriend or both. Remember when robbie tried to brainwash her and they never mentioned it again. Not really relevant just thought it was interesting.

Overall: is gravity falls a bad show? No, it has problems but like in comparrison to its contemporaries its pretty good. Its just a flawed show. And I cant say its like all mysoginistic because mabel is a very well written character even if it feels like the show is very often still from dippers pov. And they at least kinda subvert the mean girl archetype. I like that. Giving a character supposed to be shallow more depth is always a plus. I think the biggest drawback from wendys lack of side plots is soos kinda be overplayed a bit as "supporting young adult". Like soos is funny but also he can kinda get grating when used to much. Maybe its jurt cause my tolerance for "funny innofensive fat guy" is very low. I much prefer "rude asshole fat guy" like pete from a goofy movie.

Tldr: watch the last unicorn it changed my life

erik is a 40 or 50 something year old kissless virgin who has never had a normal social interaction in his whole life his only real social skills are 1) hide from ppl 2) trick ppl into thinking he's a ghost/angel 3) murder ppl thats it those are his only means of getting what he wants from people the only relationships he has that come even a little bit close to normal is with madame giry and the persian and even then he still lies to them so with all this in mind it's obvious that he's completely inexperienced and unequipped to navigate a romantic and/or sexual relationship which means he has neither the charisma nor the confidence to be seductive and sexy thats why in order to get a girl to talk to him he decided to pretend to be a supernatural being instead of just being himself and when he does start being himself things go downhill instantly because as an angel he had power over christine and his interactions with her plus it allowed him to keep a (metaphorical and literal) wall between them to protect himself but as just a guy he's much more vulnerable and he is absolutely not emotionally mature enough to deal with being in a position where he has to talk to her and be in the same room with her as an equal which is why he tries to control her throughout the book through force (kidnapping her, threatening to kill everyone including himself if she doesn't become his waifu, etc) maybe if he had just been normal and brought her flowers or something after a performance and went from there things could've worked out better between them but the other thing is that she's like 20 something, he's old enough to be her father which on it's own isn't great but even if everything went exactly how he wanted and she married him in like. 10.. 20, maybe 30 years she'd have to dump his ass into a retirement home but also in the meantime sex could be a problem because my man is not only middle aged and a virgin he's also been living in a cellar for ??? years so you know he's gotta be physically as well as mentally unwell by now how likely is it that peepaw can keep up with someone in their 20s he doesn't seem very sexually motivated in the book like he was fully prepared to never take his mask off around christine until she yoinked it so i doubt he would've dropped his pants like any kind of physical intimacy just never seemed to occur to him until the very end and all that was was the most chaste kiss imaginable and even with that he was super timid about it erik did you really think you could just do card tricks and play music all day for your wife and she would be happy about it??? you didn't think that if you managed to get a wife that she might want you to fuck her??? if you don't have low self esteem now you definitely will when you realize her recovery time is 10 minutes and yours is.. much much longer and given how good he is at dealing with people and his own emotions (sarcasm) it would definitely become an issue i'm mostly talking about leroux erik here but i think some of this still applies to the younger and hotter alw erik like if u think that he's a sexy dude you've fallen for the front he puts up anyway all this is to say that i think the thing where christine is soo horny about him that she runs back and has wild nasty sex with him at the last minute sucks like if ur gonna do that with your adaptation at least do what susan kay did and have him die afterwards (death by pussy is funny)

idk i just think the reason erik is sexy is not because he is sexy. its because when you peel back the paper thin and incredibly performative veneer of sexiness he puts up you see that he's actually the most pathetic and irritating lil guy you'll ever meet underneath. and i think thats special. smiles

my BIGGEST ick abt this episode was how anticlimactic that bombing scene was I agree!! like it was so built up and then. what was that. Genuinely I was confused thinking like umm is that ? is that it? it was MISSING stuff

every time Sylvie comes on screen I die a little on the inside (bad). I love strong female leads but she's SO DRY and i think her only personality traits are Girl Boss and Sarcasm. No offence- she has so much potential but they refuse to write her well!!!! she's just. not doing it for me.

Casey O.B. and B-15 deserve eternal happiness i AGREE. Casey's little fangirl moment abt O.B. i was smiling soo hard i was Not Okay

LOKI AND HIS MAGIC ok this is a BIG DEAL to me. literally when was the last time we have seen Loki use his magic this much. like wow hello i was screaming and cryng and shaking and i was unwell. Absolutely loved the little scene of his whole shadow play? 10/10 i gasped very much when i realised it!!

I thinkkkk okay in regards to Brad- he's definitely doing great with playing the asshole but the more i do think about it, the more im like hmm he made. he made points!! and he's such an interesting character every time he comes on screen i justtt. idk. i get angry with him but also i love the details he adds to the episode. (still cried a bit when he mentioned Frigga I couldnt help myself the way i rewatched that very moment like 10 times just to catch the little change in Loki's features. unwell.)

ummmm hello Loki and his illusions? literally was so unwell. screamed. i had to pause for 5 minutes to pace my room.

WHEN MOBIUS SAID "c'mon, you're the god of mischief!" and he just did the little head tilt and chuckle OKAY i died.

UMM ALSO MY FAVOURITE PART HADDD TO BEEEE when they went to find Brad at first and he went to get them drinks and Mobius is all "its ok itspart of the job so we can drink-"and Loki's like "is he running yet ;-;" and the look he had when Mobius realised like (HEAVY SGH) I DONT KNOW it made me giggle.

i stilll am a bit iffy with the writing of the show, but im so focused on Loki himself that genuinely i cant find myself to let it bother me? im much more of a characters over plot person- while i do love a good plot i find characters to be much more important so my only hope is to continue exploring the characters (get rid of Sylvie immediately) and see where it goes. Plot's good too i guess but its just....not exciting me enough?

i have so many opinions wow umm what else AHAHAHA when Loki mentioned the Battle of New York like it was NOTHING "okay im gonna tell you something. you know that one time i was so angry with my brother and father I went down to earth and held an entre city hostage using an alien army? yeah that wasnt tactical. i lost it" (or smth like that) lke MY BOY what are you waffling about. no babe it wasnt tactical for YOU but okay. i was very very unwell. he was soo...i dont even have the words that was so out of nowhere and silly i laughed so hard.

Brad's whole speech i was very very scared. like is Loki gonna lose it is he gonna play along WHATS GOING ON and then mf CHUCKLED and i felt a weight lift off my chest. "stop trying to be the hero, man. You're the villain. its what you're good at. do that." and he's just NODDING ALONG SMILING like its NOTHING okay ,3 baby boy <3 i giggled (i CACKLED like a HYENA) through all of it. except the few points where it clearly got to Loki then I cried a bunch but thats okay lmao.

anyway when will Marvel stop labelling him "hero" "villain" he's NEITHER LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! if he's a hero he's gonna be a hero with some questionable tactics. which i actually liked how they added with the torture scene now that i think abt it!! like his bigger picture was getting this information to save everyone but he did not hesitate to scare the shit out of Brad to get it. 10/10 thats what I'm looking for, very excellent, very delicious.

need him to be feral and go those grey-area lengths to get to his end goals.

anyway anyway anyway this turned into an essay MY BAD AHAHAHA but yeah there was definitely a lot of low points in the episode but my Main Focus was soo on Loki i didnt even care anymore.

first off, i will warn you i did not love it. at first i thought i at least enjoyed it but then i kept thinking about it and now i'm kind of like, meh????

positively though, i love how we actually get to see him use his powers in a fun way!!

i absolutely adore the support loki and mobius have for each other.

casey and ob are adorable and i wish them and b-15 eternal happiness no matter the outcome of this season.

also i actually really loved brad??? like i know he's supposed to be this dickhead but i think he made the episode for me.

for negatives: the writing has still be pretty meh.

the pacing was really weird this episode which isn't a big deal but i think combined with the writing just kind of threw me off.

i HATED the bombing scene it was very anticlimactic.

also i know i normally love the strong, female archetype that people tend to hate but sylvie is so frustratingly bland that every time she is on screen i just want to get rid of her.

i feel like i could say more things for both sides but my brain is fried so pls tell me your opinions instead. <3

You check the clock for the fifth time that afternoon, your breathing labored as you hang up the last of the lights.

"All done over here! Yeonjun, Hueningkai, how's the cake?" you call out to your friends in the kitchen. You chuckle when you see the design Yeonjun chose for the frosting. "Oh my god, what is that supposed to be?"

Kai glances over at you and laughs, "Yeonjun won't even let me do anything, and look at this! It looks like a headless squirrel." he says, pointing at the cake with Yeonjun hunched over it, seemingly trying to salvage the drawing.

You laugh at Kai's comment, grabbing your phone and opening your DMs to text Soobin, who was out with Beomgyu trying to keep Taehyun away from your house.

Soobin: 😃 i want to die, we've been to six places so far trying to keep taehyun from going home

You close your phone and fix a balloon that had gone astray, before checking the estimated time of arrival for Taehyun's birthday gift you had requested the week before. You knew Taehyun loved animals and had gotten him a pet. A pony, to be exact. The house you both lived in was your uncle's, a charming ranch house with stables in the back. As a kid, you would visit your uncle every summer, joining the local equestrian team and playing with your uncle's senior horses. When he passed away, you inherited the land and moved in with your boyfriend Taehyun. You smile to yourself as you imagine how he'd react to the present and new friend. Pleased, you hummed a little song to yourself, almost skipping over to the kitchen where Yeonjun and Kai were bickering about whether to put strawberries on the cake or not.

"Hyung, cmonnnn. He loves strawberries, right? It won't ruin anything, I'm sure of it," Kai argues, gesturing at the box of strawberries on the table.

"No, no, no, it'll ruin the taste. Since when do strawberries and rainbow cake go together?? We're using the sprinkles, leave me alone." Yeonjun retorts, grabbing the multi-colored sprinkles from the cabinet and dusting them on.

You nod, agreeing with Yeonjun on the sprinkles. "It looks so good, guys!! Well... except for that drawing, Yeonjun, why didn't you let Kai do it." you say as you observe the cake.

Yeonjun huffs, rolling his eyes at you. "Is it Bully Yeonjun Day or something? Did I miss the memo?"

"No, it's Taehyun's birthday." You chime at him, smirking as he flicked you off in response.

Your ringtone starts playing and you sprint over to your phone on the sofa, correctly guessing that Soobin was calling you. You answer as you lock eyes with Yeonjun and Kai, sending them the signal that Taehyun was probably on his way.

"Soobin? Are you on your way home?"

"Yes, we're on our way, Taehyun was being too persistent. You guys ready?"

"Umm," you pause as you look over the decorations and room, "Yes, yeah we are. But the present isn't here yet!"

"When is it coming?"

"The tracker says... oh in fifteen minutes!"

"Hmm, we're pretty close, like five minutes away."

"Ok, you know what, no problem. It should be here by the time the food is eaten, we'll be fine."

"Okay, bye then!"

"Bye, cya soon!"

You end the call and open the package tracking app, looking at the ETA. Ten minutes?! Gosh I hope it arrives in time.

"Y/n what'd Soobin say?" Yeonjun inquires, finishing up the last of the placements. "Everything looks good here, I think we're ready?"

You nod, scanning over the area. "I think so too." You smile to yourself as you imagine how happy your boyfriend would be with the surprise party.

Yeonjun grins at you, knowing exactly who you were thinking about. "Look at the little lovebird, so cute." he coos at you before turning back to the kitchen. "Don't worry about anything, I'm certain Taehyun will love this."

You turn away, embarrassed at being so easily read. But he's right, I have nothing to worry out. You reassure yourself as you grab your phone to dial the boys to see where they were.

Well no need, because they were already at the front door.

The doorbell rings through the house. "Guy's it's us! Open up!" Beomgyu's voice calls from outside.

You hurriedly stuff your phone into your jean pocket, glancing at Yeonjun and Kai who were hiding behind the living room door as you sprint into the foyer. You open the door and immediately get engulfed by Taehyun as he wraps you into a big hug.

"Baby, I missed you." he mumbles into your shoulder before letting you go.

You kiss him on the cheek, ignoring the gags coming from your left. "I missed you too, how was the new arcade?"

"Fun, but it would have been better if you were there." he pouts before breaking into a smile. "So! Where's the thing you promised me this morning and insisted on being vague about?"

You chuckle at his comment, placing your hands on his shoulders as you stand behind him. "Close your eyes."

He nods, closing his eyes. You walk him to the living room, pausing in front of the door. You make eye contact with the rest of your friends, nodding to each of them as they got in their places around the room.

"Okay, you can open them!" you exclaim, moving in front of him with your arms stretched outwards.

"SUPRISE!!!" everyone cheers in unison as Taehyun opens his eyes and takes in the decorations.

Taehyun turns to you, his eyes sparkling as a big smile takes over his face. "Y/n did you guys do this all for me? This is the best birthday party ever. Thank you all so much." he says as he picks you up and spins you around.

You giggle, tapping his arm to let you down. "Cmon, let's slice the cake!" you say as you point to the dining table where the food was set up.

"The cake is my creation by the way." Yeonjun says proudly as you grab the knife to slice it with.

"And I baked the cupcakes!" Kai chimes in, leaning over to light the "20" candle on the cake.

"Should we sing something? Like Happy Birthday?" Soobin asks and you all nod in agreement.

You gesture to Taehyun who was standing in front of the cake. "Blow it out! Three, two, one..."

He leans forward and blows on the cake, and you all cheer and begin singing the song. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Taehyun~"

Bubby laughter surrounds the table as you all chat happily. You lean back, full after eating two slices and a cupcake. The doorbell rings and you shoot up to answer it, walking into the foyer. You open the door to see the delivery person, the pony behind them with a trainer.

"Are you Y/n L/n?" the woman asks, a clipboard in hand.

"Yes, I am."

"Okay, just sign here. Where do we place the pony?"

"The stables over here, please." you answer as you gesture to the back of the house. You lead the trainer with the pony over to the stables, and they left shortly afterward after giving you a few pointers.

You already know the pony's name and gender, a mare named Dahlia. She was beautiful, with a shiny black coat and well-kept mane and tail. There was a pink ribbon wrapped around her head, shaped in a perfect bow. You smile softly as you slowly approach her stable, careful not to scare her.

"Hi, Dahlia. I'm Y/n and I'm your new owner. Don't worry, I'll make sure you are as happy as can be here, okay? Now wait here!" you say, speaking gently as to help her warm up to you.

The pony eyes you for a few seconds before snorting, and you took that as an answer. You wave to Dahlia as you walk back into the house, making a mental note that the lawn needed mowing.

"In my opinion, the PS5 is a waste of money, just get the new Switch or the Oculus with that price tag!" Taehyun argued with Beomgyu and Soobin, engaged in a heated argument about whether the game console was worth it.

"Soobin already bought it, by the way. But how would a non-gamer know which consoles are better? Your opinion is irrelevant." Beomgyu responds cheekily, looking to Yeonjun and Kai for endorsement and waving his hand dismissively at them when they shrugged in response.

Taehyun opens his mouth to counter him but pauses when he feels a strong itch in his throat. He grabs his water and takes a few big sips but the feeling wouldn't subside and instead got stronger, the itch spreading to his nose and eyes. That's weird, it feels like an allergic reaction, but there's nothing here to which I'm allergic to...

He snaps out of his thoughts as you sit down next to him, looking at you with his brows furrowed. You eye him, eyebrows shooting up when you notice his face turning red.

"Taehyun, are you okay?" you say, concerned at how flushed he was. "Your entire face is bright red."

He opens his mouth to respond but gets cut off by a loud neigh, and everyone's head turns to the back door.

"Oh, Taehyun's present is here! Let's go see it!" Kai exclaims, getting out of his seat. "You'll love this present."

Everyone follows him to the backyard, you and Taehyun in the rear as you examine his face, worry evident in your face.

"Taehyun, did you eat something you're allergic to? Or touch it?"

"No, I don't think so..." he trails off, seeing the pony. He stares at it for a few seconds before looking at you.

"Y/n... why is there a pony with a pink bow around its head in our back yard?"

You look at him, the pony, and then him again, and it finally dawns on you. "Oh my god, are you allergic to horses?!"
