Happy beginning.

Pairing: Dokyeom x gn!reader

Synopsis: nobody has ever and will ever love you as much as he does.

Sometimes you found yourself thinking about love and what it was. Pretty cliché, but was it supposed to feel so warm?

You always thought that it was supposed to be hard, full of suffering so you could eventually get your "happy ending." So back then you didn't question your past experiences.

You always thought that the heated arguments and the often given silent treatment was a part of it all, part of being loved and being in love; so when you and Dokyeom first started dating, you were confused.

Why was he being so sweet? Nah, it's just the honeymoon phase. Why isn't he mad when you made a mistake? Was this normal?

One moment you were thankful, and the other you were worried that this will only last a little while, but it has been a bit more than a year since you started dating and he has never changed, not a bit.

He would always try his best to make you laugh. Instead of arguing he would talk it out, no matter what the problem was. He would ask for your opinion on every little thing. He would wake you up gently with kisses and hugs while whispering sweet good mornings into you ear.

On days you were upset he would come to your rescue with a huge tub of ice cream and your favorite snacks, hugging you to his chest and telling you everything was gonna be fine. That he'll always be there for you, no matter what.

And he'd never let you sleep while upset. He'd always want to resolve any issues before you go to bed so you could both go to sleep cuddled into each other's arms.

With every minute that passes his affection gets stronger and warmer and it makes you feel all jumbled and confused because what does he see in you for him to love you this much, to treat you this well?

And when you were both watching a sappy romance movie, you decided to ask a question that has confused you for the past few months.

"Kyeom, what do you like about me this much?"

He immediately looked at you like you were speaking gibberish. What do you mean? This is the dumbest question ever. Is there something not to like about you?

"No- I mean like, you treat me so well and you're literally the best boyfriend ever but is there really something that I had done that makes me deserve all this?" You were starting to get nervous and Dokyeom was still looking at you like you were insane.

You immediately found yourself being pulled into his chest.

It was too loud, too fast.

"Do you hear that? That happens because you exist. I can't imagine another day without you. It isn't a matter of what I like about you, it's that I like everything about you way too much that it drives me insane that you might even think for a second that you deserve any less than this."

He looked more serious that you had ever seen him. It wasn't just how his words made you feel something flip inside, but also how he looked at you while saying it. How you could genuinely feel it—how much he loved you.

You had never felt it, except with him. You felt loved.

"Maybe you could ask me about dolphins or something or if I'd love you if you were a worm—and I would. But don't you even think that you can or that I'd even let you question if you had to 'do' something. The only thing you need to do is allow me to love you to my heart's content."

Yup, that was the happy ending—no, it wasn't a happy ending. It was a happy beginning to a future that would only be even happier.

something feels different to you tonight. maybe weird, even.

it’s close to 10pm when you decide to leave your room to see what joshua was up to and you find him in the living room, at the far end of the sofa with his back towards you. you spot his box of colourful beads and various other materials laid out on the armrest and you know he’s making more of his diy accessories again. that wasn’t the weird part though, it was the fact that he didn’t ask if you wanted to join him that felt off to you because he always does. or he’d at least ask if you want to watch him while you tell him about your day.

“what are you doing?” joshua jumps slightly when you appear behind him and try to look past his shoulder.

he quickly lowers whatever was in his hands in an attempt to hide it with his body. “nothing,” he twists around to look at you and he sees your eyes scanning the materials scattered before him.

“are you making something for the guys again?” your eyes leave the mess to land on his face.

you watch him knit his brows together like he’s thinking hard about something then he’s shoving the thing he was holding below his crossed legs.

“you should go to bed, i’ll be done here soon.” he says instead of answering your question.

“oh, i was going to offer my help.” you try again but he’s quick to shake his head.

“it’s fine, i’m almost finished anyway.” joshua silently prays for you to leave so he can go back to working on it.

you look like you’re about to say something else but ends up only giving him a small nod and a soft mumble of “i won’t get in your way then, don’t stay up too late” that he almost didn’t catch before heading back into your room. he doesn’t miss the disappointment on your face and he can only hope that the finished product he ends up with will make up for it. once he hears the door click shut, he quickly goes back to what he was doing and he can’t stop admiring his own work when it was finally done after nearly 20 minutes of threading tiny beads onto a thin wire.

by the time he was done cleaning up everything and ready to go to bed, it was almost midnight. he opens the door to the room gently, trying to make as little noise as possible in case you were already asleep and he knows you’re still awake when he sees the dim light coming from your phone. you don’t greet him or tell him to him to hurry up so you can cuddle like you usually would though, which was strange to joshua. instead, you just look up at him briefly then set your phone aside and goes to sleep with your back turned to him.

“hey,” he murmurs behind you as he crawls into his side of the bed. “are you upset with me?”

“no,” you mumble then turns to face him. “why? does my secretive boyfriend finally want to spend time with me now?”

joshua lets out a whine then he protests, “i always want to spend time with you, babe. you know that.”

“then why didn’t you want me around earlier?” you let out a dramatic sigh, “i always knew i wasn’t as good at handicrafts as you are but i thought you appreciated my effort and enjoyed my company at the very least.”

“i do! you have no idea how much i love it even when you’re just sitting there and watching me,” he rushes to tell you. “i just thought you should get some rest earlier since you had a long day at work today.”

his arms wrap around you instinctively and he’s relieved when you don’t reject his affection and melts into his arms instead.

you tilt your face up to look at him and give him a questioning look, “really?”

joshua immediately gets up to turn the light on and retrieves his box of materials from the closet to lay them out in the middle of the bed. “let’s make something together right now.”

you start laughing at his reaction and joshua feels his heart blooming with every sound of it.

“fine, i believe you. put them away. it’s getting late.”

he packs them up and goes to sleep with you enveloped in his arms that night.

you wake up the next morning and everything seems normal until you finally notice it in the mirror as you’re brushing your teeth. a small, beaded ring you have never seen before is sitting on your finger. you rush outside to find joshua in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

“babe, what’s this?”

he turns around and sees you standing there with a very confused look on your face and your hand up. he quickly turns the stove off and sets the spatula down before making his way across the kitchen to stand in front of you.

his bright, glistening eyes meet yours and there’s a small smile tugging on his lips, “a promise ring.”

the confused look is still on your face and joshua decides to clarify further.

“you don’t have to promise me anything back but i just wanted you to know that i want to be in your life forever, if you’ll have me.” his hands reach for yours and he brushes his thumbs against the back of your hands softly. “especially after last night when i thought you were actually upset at me, i started thinking about what would happen if i don’t have you in my life anymore.”

tears begin to well up in your eyes and you feel a lump in your throat. you pull a hand out from his to slap him lightly on the chest, “what the hell, joshua hong. you can’t just make me cry right after i wake up.”

he chuckles as he pulls you into an embrace then you feel him pressing a kiss to your temple before you hear his soft voice in your ear, “so what do you say? will you let me stay in your life forever?”

the smile on his face grows when he feels you wrap your arms around him.

“only if you let me stay in yours.”

A/N: i been sick all this week and i'm feeling like shit so i thought that while i rest i can write about being take care of, this is my first long "fic" and english isn't my first language so im sorry if you see any errors anyways enjoy （╹◡╹）

seokmin usually lets people see what he thinks or feels, but the only thing he couldn't expose himself would be to talk about how much he likes to see you in his hoodies, at first it was normal, he realized from the beginning realize how forgetful you are, on one of your first dates the time passed quickly than he thought and soon enough it was night, normally the weather tends to get cold, you being yourself forgot about bringing a hoodie just in case, but Seokmin, seeing how uncovered you were, didn't hesitate for a second and he offered you his hoodie.

this was his downfall

Seeing yourself so small when wearing his sweatshirt, along with that feeling that everyone around you knew was his sweatshirt and that you were now occupying it for some reason filled him with pride and love.

But this was just the beginning

Now a few months has passed, you and seokmin are celebrating 5 months of being together, he has always been a romantic so he decided to invite you on a date, everything was fine until now, you didn't expect to wake up so sick. When you woke up the first thing you felt was a huge headache, combined with a sore throat and a stuffy nose, it was the perfect match for feeling like shit

You decided to continue with the day and you got up to wash your face. When you did so, you felt a breeze of cold and loneliness consuming you. A feeling of isolation was so big that you just wanted a hug and to feel good sooner, remembering that your boyfriend a few days ago "unintentionally" left his hoodie in your place, you didn't think twice and put it on. At the moment you did so, you felt the smell of your boyfriend invading your nostrils and the heat of the sweatshirt helped you feel a little better.

After a few minutes of sitting on your bed complaining while you coughed and sneezed, you heard the ringtone of your phone. When you answered it, you were welcomed with the melodious voice of your boyfriend, "good morning sweetie, how did you sleep? Are you ready for our day?" he asked enthusiastically, you instantly felt guilty upon hearing so much emotion on his part, when you opened your mouth to respond your body betrayed you (more than it already was) and with a weak voice you replied "good morning handsome, I slept well but I waked up being sick, I'm so sorry" Seokmin, being the attentive boyfriend, was able to realize the state you were in, not taking any importance to the plans he had for today and dedicating all his attention to you, he spoke "hey it's okay, Do you want me to go see you?" He asked gently, probably even if you refused he would come anyway, but you felt too tired to fight him so you just accepted with a weak smile.

After a few minutes you heard a knock on the door, with the little strength you had you went at a slow pace to open the door, when you did so you were greeted by the warm smile of your boyfriend "I'm sorry if took too long honey, I went to buy some things for you." "he said lovingly and then upon entering he kissed you on the forehead you replied with a hug.

He instantly realized that the hoodie you were wearing was his, feeling your weak touch made him realized how much you needed him, a few minutes after his arrival you found yourself wrapped in blankets as he showed you the things he bought you, among them were medicines, some vegetables and your favorite snacks.

Throughout the morning he was constantly checking on you, first he made you take the medication that he previously bought, while he tucked and left you in a comfortable place, he went to the kitchen to make you the miraculous "mingyu's sick soup" that in his words always helped him get better when he got sick, every now and then he would come back to you asking about your health.

When Seokmin finished cooking, he brought you the food. At this rate, you couldn't resist anymore and you burst into tears, which alerted your boyfriend.

"Hey honey, what's wrong? Don't you want to eat?" He asked worriedly as he took your face in his hands carefully wiping your tears with his thumbs. As you calmed down you looked at him with a pout and opened your mouth "I'm sorry for ruining our day, now we could have done what you had planned but you're here taking care of me." as if I were a child" you said between sobs, you tried to speak again but Seokmin's voice cut you off "hey beautiful, it's okay, you haven't ruined the day, if I'm here it's because I want to take care of you because I love you and I want to see you well "Apart from the fact that I don't care what I had planned, what I wanted was to spend the day with you" he said softly while leaving small kisses on your head, after reassuring you he began to feed you, with the excuse that you don't have to do any extra work, you just have to rest and let him love you.

In what remained of the day, Seokmin dedicated it to you, making sure you ate, that you were comfortable and, above all, showering you with kisses and hugs, even with your protests that you were going to make him sick, he couldn't care less since he The only thing I wanted was to see you smile.

Now you were watching the series that you liked so much, Seokmin was under you while his arms surrounded you, his hand was gently placed on your head giving you small caresses and it was at that moment where you realized that Seokmin's love was enough to be able to make you feel better than you ever thought.
