A totally self indulgent compilation of my favorite works on this blog of the year June 13, 2019 - June 13, 2020

I wanted to do this for the blog's first anniversary but then completely forgot about it lol.

The following lists are all in chronological order according to the date each post was first published.

Top 10 panel edits:

#1: Don and Gilda - Chapter 138: Demon serch (1)

Date: Jun 14th, 2019

Time: ~ 1:30 h

My very first redraw from my very first edit posted here, so it deserves an honorable mention. Back then I was young and inexperienced, I didn't even apply a gray filter (lmao I was so unskilled I even unintentionally scratched the picture, I hadn't realized until today). I'm actually very happy my first redraw was of Don, boy deserves all the love.

#2: Emma and Ray - Chapter 140: I’m Here!

Date: Jun 28th, 2019

Time: ~ 1 h

Back then this looked like so much work to me!!! And to this day, I think it turned out pretty well. I'm particularly proud of how the bow turned out. This is one I was really proud of right after having finished it; it gave me the confidence to try redrawing bigger areas. Also, the edit were I first applied the opacity of layer / opacity of brush for the gray filter that would have stuck with me.

#3: Krone's birthday edit

I don't know I just really like how Krone's hair vanish to a more sketch-like style here– and consequently, how I managed to replicate such effect. I think Krone's beautiful.

#4: Emma, Norman and Ray - Chapter 153: Coward

Date: Oct 4th, 2019

Time: 4:07 h (and 67 layers lmao)

Probably the single panel redraw I'm the most proud of. That Norman panel was beautiful and very poignant at the end of a chapter I adored, so I believe it deserved all the time I've spent working on it. It's far from being perfect - the back of his head is too plain, and the difference between my brushes and the original brushes is pretty visible - but I still like it very much and am extremely attached to it. The horn looks kinda big but I honestly believe it to be more of an issue with the original than with what I had redrawn lol. Funny enough, the whole picture didn't make it to the final edit and had to be trimmed.

#5: Full Score Trio - Chapter 154: A Breakthrough

I don't have a particular reason for this I just think Emma's hair turned out amazing. It took just half an hour and I didn't even use references like. Wow. @Redrawing skills where did you go please come back

#6: Mujika and Queen Legravalima - Chapter 158: The Reason I Was Born

Sis I love this so freaking much. The shift from redrawing almost exclusively people and clothes to redrawing this mess was so fun and refreshing. Even though it's a mess I think it turned out very clean and overall it looks beautiful? I remember after finishing this I felt so powerful, like now that I had redrawn this thing I would have been able to redraw anything I set my mind on lol.

#7: Emma - Chapter 161: Never Be Alone

Again no particular reason except this is a very cute Emma and I think the redraw turned out pretty well. There's this big lock on the left that doesn't make a lot of sense but overall I really like it. Cute Emma is cute, and I love her determination.

This is cool! I didn't know I could manage to draw this, but I did it! The feathers were particularly hard to clean but I think they turned out fine.

#10: Full Score Trio - Chapter 174: A New World (part 1)

I just think they're very pretty? I can't understand if I like Ray's face a lot, or not at all, but I think overall there was a lot to redraw and it turned out pretty cute! Sorry Gillian.

(Also insert pretty much every panel from the chapter 177 Isabella edit– I've spent so many hours on basically every panel there's no way I could choose only one).

The very first edit I'm actually proud of; I'm really attached to it. It's the first edit I had put all of my effort into, and I remember feeling anxious people would have left it without notes. It kinda feels weird to think about it now, because I really don't care about notes anymore; yet, it somehow makes me happy to think that past-me wasn't let down. Thank you @neverlandstrio for your support, you may not remember but it really meant a lot to me back then! And it still makes me smile. You're the best!!!!!!

#2: Mujika and Queen Legravalima - Chapter 158: The Reason I Was Born

Date: Nov 20th, 2019

Complessive time: 7:12+ hours

This whole edit was an hella wild ride. It's midnight before a school day, when I think: "Mh, it's been a while since I last made an edit, why not make one about Musica and the queen from the last chapter?" And seven hours after this was born. I'm particularly proud of the queen's redraws on the 3rd, 7th and 9th picture (ofc), the areas which have been redrawn are pretty huge yet I think the difference with the original is almost impossible to notice?? @Redrawing skills where did you go please come back (part 2)

#3: Emma - Chapter 174: A New World (part 1)

Date: Apr 12th, 2020

Complessive time: 6:53+ h

I think the panels that were selected work very well together, especially considering the close-up / full body alternation. I love Emma, and I've always been kinda sad noticing that edits that focus one her take the less notes... She deserves all the love. Also, fun fact: for the last but one panel, I had redrawn Emma's whole left ear before remembering she doesn't have one, so I had to redraw the panel from the start. Besides from the error with the ear, the reason why this (and all the others after) took so long is because official panel take way longer to clean.

#4: Isabella and her children - Chapter 177: Mother

Date: May 22nd, 2020

Complessive time: 13:41+ h (ahah.)

Lmao tbh I can't understand how this has so few notes it's like. Technically speaking, probably the best edit I've ever done. I don't even like Isabella that much, I haven't got the slightlest idea why I decided to spend so many hours on this. Anyway, I find the composition (full body on the left / headshots on the right) really good looking in this as well! And I think the redraws turned out fine, especially Isabella's.

#5: The Promised Neverland manga ending countdown→ 1/7 chapters: chapter 1 - Grace Field House

Date: Jun 9th, 2020

Complessive time: 1:59+ h

I don't know how I came up with that idea for the composition but I find it really beautiful??? I think it does a pretty good job conveying the sudden, terrific shift of atmosphere from the first chapter, and I think that sharp bridge is very nice. I'm very, very proud of this.

Honorable mention #1: Full Score Trio - Chapter 154: A Breakthrough

Complessive time: 3:44+ h (+ 1:13 h of working on a panel that ultimately didn't make it to the final edit)

A very good chapter, and the edit turned out surprisingly amazing??? All the redraws look great and make it almost impossible to distinguish them from the original; honestly I feel like I'll never be able to redraw so neatly again lol.

Honorable mention #2: Don and Gilda (+ Norman) - Chapter 160: Shackles

That one is really one of my favorite scenes; I'm telling you peoples, Gilda and Don are a blessing to the earth. I think I've never mentioned it, but Gilda's hair is a nightmare to redraw??? More specifically, it takes me h o u r s to fill the texture without making it look too weird, it's the worst.

Honorable mention #3: Norman and Ray - Chapter 179: Compensation

Complessive time: 4:16+ h

I was so glad to finally be able to make a Norman / Ray edit, and it turned out it was just in time before the series' finale. I like how it turned out and I'm pretty satisfied with the redraws (even though my sister helped me with the lineart of some panels - it was exams time and I really couldn't afford to spend more time on it), too bad we didn't have more chapters that focused on the boys. Ray sweetie one day I'll fix your ear it's just today's not that day.

Btw, I justed realized I have never done an Emma / Norman centered edit? I'll have to make one eventually. I remember considering focusing on them alone for the chapter 154 one, but then I thought "even if the manga is gonna ignore Ray, I will chose to do not" lol.

#1: Reconstruction of how the Grace Field children were settled in the three bedrooms

I just had really a lot of fun doing it. I love putting all the little things to their own place, it's so calming to do and that's why I love making this kind of things. Also, loved how @temporoom contributed to the post! It was so nice of them to add what they had noticed to come up with more exact conclusions, that's one of the things I love the most about the internet.

#2: A study of how many times the characters of The Promised Neverland call each other through the first season of the anime

I REALLY LOVE IT! I mean it *was* kinda stressing to note everything, but it was very also very satisfying to see everything methodically divided and organized! And it's not just that– it's also the fact that it looks good. That's one post I have fun rereading because it's actually pretty! Also, even though it can be very stressing to learn to use new programs and sites, it's always very satisfying to look at the final result. Again, I really adore compiling these tiny little details! I would love to make more posts of that kind if i had the time.

#3: The Promised Neverland musicals headcanons

I mean it's literally. Putting my two favorite fandoms together how could I not love it. This is another one I really enjoy rereading, I find all the musical / character associations so fitting! I really want to make a second part, I hope to find some time to do it.

#4: Considerations on the reward / eventual series' finales (and Emma's sacrifice)

It's always nice to put down all your thoughts regarding a particular matter. It can take a lot of time (at least for me it does because... I need time to think about things), but it's so satisfying to see all of them there once you're done. Bonus points when, like in this case, it was something asked by someone else because “Wow! Somebody wants to hear my opinion on this subject! I'm flattered (◍•ᴗ•◍)”

#5: Some other considerations on the series' finale and Emma sacrificing herself

Pretty much the same as above. It's like some kind of clarity when the post is done and signed. Another fun fact, I had to censore the post a lot; the first version was extremely sharp and harsh, but I believe it's right to express your opinions calmly and politely.

A “Me” Update

30 July 20

I keep tearing up and crying lol spurts here and there. And I let it. I feel it. It as soon as I acknowledge it, it stops again. I know I need a good cry. I need to let it out.

Had a spurt today.

And I told Hubby sorry and that I know I need to cry. Then the tears dried up. I feel them behind my eyes, but I won’t rain down on me. Had some amazing things happen today, even with all my anxiety spilling over in weird circumstances.

1. Hubby opened up to me about all the stresses happening right now. A lot at work. There’s a lot more than I had realized. And how it’s taking a toll on him. And he knows it’s my instinct to “run” to “hide” when things are stressful. And he asked me to please fight against that urge and to try to stay with him. Try to calm him, if I can. Cuz he needs me. He doesn’t need more time alone with his thoughts; he has enough of that.

2. He told me he wants me to come work on my studio corner minimum 10 mins every day. Just 10 mins. I fought against myself that whole time today. Worked in there about 45 mins because I’d get to a stopping point and he would help me, opening the option to actually do more. But fighting my stubborn super emotional inner self too. Cuz I kept telling myself what’s the point. And then saying how wonderful that he is guiding me. And if he did this for me I should work a lil more to show I appreciate him doing this esp while he is working. And then getting sad again because he kept referring to it as a desk and suggesting moving things around back and forth. But that’s not how art works. At least not for me. Esp afte having kids. Even more so with him working at home and needing to keep them quiet. I can work a little the. It needs to sit there without getting scratched up, etc. This is when the tears came.

3. He told me he understood and to pack up nonart things and nonessentials that we do t have the room or time to use rn and we can unpacked whenever we get a larger place. He reiterated that was not to include art supplies. He said I should be proud. Know I g where my mind went we i first came in to work on the area: thinking I’ll never be able to do art ever again in my whole life lol....yup... He pointed out everything I worked on, that it wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t the permanent location but easier to get there, easier to organize, easier to maintain. Pointed out that there were only a couple things blocking my table top now and gave suggestions for next time I come in to work on that area. ��🥰🥰 (I need to explain how much I crave and need that kind of dominance)

4. I cried a little. Again. Explaining how overwhelmed I am. I can never get ahead. I can never get caught up. Things keep breaking...important things. There are sooooo many interruptions. I’m not sleeping etc. He just listened... it was amazing... we had so many productive conversations this morning. I told him some thoughts on what could help me and asked how he felt about them. He is on board. I just need helpers on board. I need to make a family phone call and hold my breath they will agree. Hubby gave me some options to offer for incentive. Hopefully I will be kid free for x amount of days, fill up with coffee and fun tunes and move my booty to get as much done as I possibly can during that time! And I’m so glad he heard me put on everything. Fingers crossed it comes into fruition.

5. Hubby told me to take a bath (that’s where I am to lol) and to reward myself with something g I like to do. No phone. No tablet. Go outside and draw or play games with the kid’s etc. bath doesn’t count.

6. Just talked to him about all the stuff today being what I crave from him and hoping in helped him mentally today too and I’ll try not to fight him so much and thanked him for guiding me. And we just had another long productive conversation. Explaining not just sexual dominance...esp since that’s not realistic with both our want s and needs. I’m going to research more so I can better explain myself. He was so calm so far today and gentle with me... He still wants me to keep an open mind and be up for discussion with HW stuff in the future.

7. Last night I had another migraine that caused me to feel physically sick. He told me to lay down for a bit. He took care of the kids and dinner and bedtime. It was wonderful.

8. I actually feel some weight lifted and feel less anxious. And excited for things to come.

1. What kind of food can’t you stand?:

indian food, sadly ): i’ve had it once or twice and have therefore concluded that the spice is too much for me. i like their roti and naan, though!

2. If you could choose one minor inconvenience to never have to deal with again, what would you pick?:

shaving & waxing, definitely. i’m hairy as hell but i don’t want to shave any other part than my intimates and underarms cos apparently once you shave or wax, the hair grows thicker and i definitely don’t want to deal with that.

4. If you could be really really good at one thing, what would it be?:

i’d love to master how to counter being unproductive. this is a serious issue for me and i Don’t Know What To Do anymore.

6. What was your favorite way to pass the time as a kid?:

drawing! i loved it then. my dad even got me a book on how to draw in anime style when i was around 10 or 11.

7. What is something you’re proud of?:

i got paid for a few published articles recently! i wasn’t expecting to, but am really proud of myself for it anyway.

8. What’s one character flaw in people that you just can’t tolerate?:

attention-seeking 100%. especially if the person is just doing it to ‘fit in’. i find it really cringey and frankly unsavory. don’t do things you don’t want to do just to feel cool!!!!!!!

9. Do you consider yourself to be more of a leader or a follower?:

a leader, tbh. i’d like to think i’m good at planning and motivating people to get moving on their tasks. as a follower, i always have suggestions as to how to make the plan more feasible, and eventually end up becoming the leader anyway.

10. What kind of student are/were you?:

i used to be a great student, a teacher’s dream lmao but now i guess i’m still the same, it’s just overshadowed by my laziness and inability to recognize urgency.

11. Butterfly effect question! Has there ever been a seemingly minor decision you’ve made (at the time) that ended up having a profound influence on your life?:

I HATE BUGS AND INSECTS THEY ARE THE ONLY THINGS IN THIS WORLD I WILL HATE apparently this is called entomophobia

14. If you drink, what kind of drunk are you? Alternatively, what sort of person are you at parties?:

i’m a quiet, spaced out drunk. i look like the type to fall asleep at any moment, but i’d liven up the moment you talk to me. at parties, i’m usually one of those people at the sidelines, just watching the others at the beginning. at the end, i’m with my friends doing something we’d most likely get suspended for lol

15. Do you fall in love easily? Or does it usually take a long time for you to trust someone?:

it depends on the person, i think. i catch feelings fairly easily if i think you’re cute, but actually falling in love would take prob a year from me, at least. i give my trust out quickly, but it’s not the kind of trust where i’d tell you all my deepest thoughts. it’s more of a, “yeah i’ll take you at your word, i don’t generally think you’’re shady” kind.

16. Would you rather have one close friend or 100 casual friends?:

aaaaaaaaaaaa i’m torn! talking to one person all day all the time can be tiring and draining, but having a ton of casual friends means not rly having someone to vent to, or someone to bounce ideas off of. i guess right now, i’m leaning towards the latter, simply because if you have a hundred casual friends online, it’ll be less awkward to talk about ‘deep’ things because chances are, you don’t know each other in real life lol

17. Do you consider yourself to be more of a slob or a neat-freak?:

both!!! i can be very organized and clean in the beginning, but then i get lazy to put whatever it is back to where i got it and i end up having a moderately organized messy work table.

18. Describe a place (imaginary or real) that you would find incredibly cozy:

sunlight pouring in through the slits of the window shades, making the room less dim. a white comforter on white sheets and black pillows, my laptop on top and hot tea on the bedside table, along with my phone. the air conditioner is on, the temperature matches perfect sweater weather. alternatively, cold wind blows in through the window.

19. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them someday?:

i don’t, and sometimes i think i want two of them! but who knows, everything changes.

20. What was your favorite book as a child?

it’s more of a series; the Berenstain Bears! Mercer Mayer’s Little Critter is a close runner-up.

21. Name one thing you just don’t get what all the hype is about:

buying official band merch! while i understand that it’s because they’re your idols, coming from someone who’s been a hard stan of a particular band for more than two years, once you grow out of them, you’re going to realize how much money you’d spent that could’ve gone to a better place. i just realized this still applies to me cos of slbp shut up

22. Name one thing that you think is tragically underrated:

it’s more of a person, actually; Cody Ko! i find his YouTube videos extremely funny, plus he’s cute lol

23. If you had to be glued to a person for a month, real or fictional (who you have never met), who would you choose?:

24. What’s something you’d like the chance to do someday?:

get into medical school and get my license, despite our financial stance. i always thought being a doctor or a lawyer was boring, but now being a doctor has a certain appeal to me. i’d love to help people through their sicknesses and help them feel and be better.

25. Do you typically speak your mind when you have a controversial opinion? Or do generally prefer to not rock the boat?:

i almost always speak my mind, and generally push aside any hesitance if it’s ‘controversial’, except of course if i don’t know much about what the issue is. i only choose to stay quiet when i know my opinion isn’t going to get through to whoever it is i’m talking to.

26. What’s the dumbest fad you’ve been caught up in?:

the grunge, all black hype of 2014 kjfjkdkjfdkjdfs i still cringe

27. What’s something you thought was cool as a kid/adolescent, but now cringe at yourself for?:

28. What’s a trait you consider to be very admirable?:

being able to still be yourself or stand up for your morals despite getting shit on for it, definitely.

29. Is there a particular kind of item people always tend to give you as gifts? (For instance, people always get you things with ducks on them because you like ducks, etc.):

it’s usually either clothes or money, which i am 10/10 grateful for every time

30. Do you speak multiple languages? Which ones?:

i speak two, mainly; english and my native language!

31. Would you rather live in the big city or the countryside?:

big city, no hesitation.

32. Has there ever been something you were certain you’d hate, but ended up loving?:

kpop tbh. i used to be a lowkey hater when i was in elementary (but would jam out to them when i was alone), but loOK AT ME NOW

33. Do you mind being the center of attention, or do you prefer the spotlight to be on someone else?:

i’m alright with either, but prefer being at the back making things work for whoever’s on stage.

my birthday duh

35. Are you a more go-with-the-flow type of person, or do you need to have things planned meticulously?:

i like going with the flow, but would feel much more comfortable if there were some constants in the said flow.

36. Is there something you loved so much you wish you could forget it and experience it all over again? (A tv show, book, series–anything.):

i LOVE reading and learning more about astrology. i’ve gotten into tarot recently because of it!

38. If you could have a superpower, but it was only mildly useful, what ability would you want to have?:

being able to shoot trash in the bin with 100% precision every time. imagine throwing your waste five meters away from where the bin is? less walk time, amazing

pretending to be someone you aren’t only hurts you in the end.

i don’t know if this counts, but i swallowed a fish bone when i was in elementary and almost had to go into surgery to get it out of my throat lol

i am and always will be in love with crime shows like Criminal Minds or CSI.

honestly i laugh at almost anything. i can find something to laugh at during someone’s funeral 💀

i was able to get out of an abusive relationship late last year and i am extremely grateful it happened. i’m still hesitant to continue contact with the other party, but we’re getting there.

Would you rather have a really godawful ugly tattoo in a place that is only slightly inconvenient to conceal with clothing (upper arm, thigh, etc.), or the coolest, most beautiful tattoo ever in the middle of your face? (Neither tattoo can be removed or concealed with makeup, and the ugly tattoo will deeply offend anyone who sees it.):

i’d have freckles around my nose and cheek area as the really pretty tattoo on my face, so joke’s on you!!!!!!!!

48. Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist?:

optimist, for sure. i can always see the bright side of things.

49. What would be the most flattering compliment someone could give you?:

“you really put your all into this and did a great job, you deserve this!”

i think it’s more of some people underestimate how smart i am, and it doesn’t bother me at all lol think me dumb all u want let’s see who’ll be laughing when i get ur ass beat
