The candlelight flickered across her cheeks and lips. Gods, Eivor wanted to–
“If you were?” Randvi prompted. She leaned forward in her seat, clasping both hands on the table in front of her. “What?” She stared into Eivor’s eyes. “My wife?”

valhalla characters ranked by how much i’d want to have a pint with them
Ciara – we know from WOTD that she likes a pint or ten AND has great chat. Only downside is that she might start a couple of fights but we also know from WOTD that she can kick ass.
Randvi – Do I really need to explain myself on this one? She could beat me in a drinking contest any day and I’d thank her. Also would absolutely slay at pub quizzes. Only reason that mead-queen isn’t number one is because I feel like she might be the responsible friend who keeps encouraging you to “stay hydrated”.
Birna – I’m sure Birna could drink me under the table but that’s okay because she could also carry me home if I passed out. She’s got a great sense of humour and we’d definitely get up to some trouble. However, I’d have to put up with a LOT of pining for Soma.
Vili – Pub night with Vili would be chill, except I can see him being like… a bit of a football lad. And if he had one too many I would NOT be able to carry him home.
Eivor – I think she would be an absolute liability on a night out but I’m willing to overlook that because I’m a homosexual. Also after about five drinks I think she’d want to talk about childhood trauma or the horrors of war or something equally grim and that just isn’t the vibe I’m looking for at the pub. Sorry, Eivor!
Valka – Again, I feel like Valka would want to talk about emotions and all that. She also doesn’t strike me as the sort of person who really enjoys a night out. Getting high with Valka, on the other hand….
Sigurd – I think he’s a little shit but he probably has some wild stories. I don’t know how long I could put up with that ego, though.
Basim – Just intolerably smug, I’m sorry. He just likes to say cryptic things and then refuses to explain them. Drunk me would not be able to understand.
Ivarr – Only reason he isn’t dead last is because I feel like he’d have some really interesting stories and maybe after enough drinks they wouldn’t seem quite so stomach-churning.
Fulke – Is Fulke hot? Yes. Does she have good chat? Abso-fucking-lutely not. She’d talk my ear off about the Nephilim or whatever and then probably murder me. No thanks.

Kissed by a Wolf - Chapter 3
Masterlist / Playlist for reading in this chapter, the reader is fighting an infection and making a furry friend.
CW for phsyical injury, bodily fluids, extreme pain, loss of consciousness and being pinned down by someone (this sounds terrible but I promise it gets more fluffy halfway through!)
This beautiful screencap of Valka was shared in our discord and I don’t know who took it, please let me know if you know the artist so I can credit them and check out their other work!
Healing
You woke up crying, the pain in your cheek threatening to split your head in half. Your cheek was wet from your tears and sticky from the wound that had been seeping all night. Eda stirred next to you and you both stared at each other in utter horror. William’s daughter looked like a corpse. Her cheeks and eyes had sunken deep into her skull and her face was a greyish color. You probably didn’t look any better, if her shock was any indication.
The cell opened and you got your first round of water and bread for the day. The man feeding you gave you a pitiful look but did not say anything about your state. There was still alcohol on his breath and he looked annoyed about his task, probably wishing he was still in bed like the other warriors. You did not dare to ask for help.
You drifted in and out of consciousness for the next few hours as the last few other prisoners were taken to Randvi and questioned about their knowledge and alliances. There was an aura of hopelessness in your cell. No one was speaking, everyone was staring at their feet and flinching at any loud noise. Eda ate a piece of bread and got terrible stomach cramps but managed to keep it down. At least one good thing.
People were going in and out of the longhouse, you could hear horses outside, swords clashing in the distance - probably training - and a few servants sweeping the big hall and cleaning up last night’s mess. Suddenly something small and white moved into your field of vision. Were you dreaming again? You were sure you had a fever by now.
But this was real, Eda saw it too. She had straightened up next to you, the faintest hint of a smile on her lips. A scrawny white cat was cautiously circling the cell and apparently scouring for leftovers. You quickly skimmed the ground for anything you could offer the little animal. And yes, there was a big crumb right next to your heel. You carefully pushed it closer to you with your foot and managed to get it all the way into your hands’ reach.
Quietly whispering and purring to the cat, you tried to lure her closer. And sure enough, the little white lady slowly came closer to your hands. You stayed completely still and held out the crumb on your open palm. Carefully, the cat stuck its paw through the bars and pulled the crumb back toward her. She devoured it right away. Softly meowing, she looked up at you, asking for more. You smiled at the sweet animal, a silver lining on this terrible day in this terrible cell.
“Birna! Where are you, you little rascal?” a familiar raspy voice called out, this time in the sweetest singsong, making you smile even more. The cat did not move from its spot next to you, instead meowing back louder to call to her mistress. You slowly stretched out your hands and she watched them curiously, beginning to purr as you drew your fingertips over her soft fur.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Eivor rounding the corner, wearing nothing but a thick grey knee-length tunic and fur boots. She froze in her tracks when she saw the scene before her. You quickly pulled your hands back, thinking she was angry at you for petting the cat. She suddenly rushed to the guard that had fallen asleep on his chair, slapping his chest with the back of her hand and ripping the keys to your cell from his grasp. He jerked awake, but Eivor had already opened the door and squatted down next to you.
“Fuck the gods.” She sounded astonished and extremely worried at the same time. “Damn you, Dag, how did you not see this? Her wound has festered!”
Eivor’s voice got louder and angrier with every word. She placed a hand on your forehead.
“She’s burning up! I’m taking her to Valka.” With one swift motion, she had unbound your hands and picked you up. You hung in her arms, too weak to move. As she carried you out of the pen, she shot Dag a warning look and hissed: “We’ll talk about this later.”
The tall warrior almost ran out of the longhouse, whispering to you to stay with her and that she would take you to the best healer she knew.
“Don’t you worry, little bird. You just have to fight and recover. I will take care of you from now on.”
You arrived at a smaller hut and entered the dimly lit room that smelled of burned incense and freshly cut wood. A small, black-haired woman with a beautiful headdress and impressive facial tattoos leaped to her feet when she saw you come in.
“Oh Eivor, what have you brought me now? Lay her down here.” She motioned to her bed, a simple wooden plank with a sack of straw and a number of furs. Eivor laid you down gently, kneeling next to you and squeezing your hand.
“She was struck by her master two days ago. It must have gotten this bad last night.”
Valka crouched down and inspected your tender flesh. You fainted several times as she prodded at the wound but Eivor always called you back to her. The healer was now assembling herbs, burning something, and heating up water in a kettle over her fireplace. She ground up some sort of root and a few herbs and threw the mixture into the boiling water. Then she took a clean cloth and ordered Eivor to place the hot kettle on a wooden plate next to the bed.
She dipped the cloth into the hot, sour-smelling brew that stung in your eyes and nose, then she pressed it on your cheek. It felt like she had stabbed a dagger into your skull, the pain ringing in your ears and making you see nothing but burning white. You were too exhausted to scream, fading in and out of consciousness. Instead, your body started violently shaking and Valka yelled at Eivor to pin you down before dunking the cloth into the scalding hot liquid and repeating the procedure again and again. Thankfully, you lost consciousness completely after the third time. The last thing you felt was Eivor’s big, warm hands on your upper arms and her knee on your hip, holding you down as you convulsed in pain.
-
When you woke up for the second time today, you were still lying on Valka’s bed. You wore a long linen tunic and the women seemed to have washed you, freeing you from the sweat and dirt that had accumulated in the last days. The room smelled better than before, the kettle was over the fire again and the small woman stirred dried flowers and other herbs into the water. Eivor was sitting next to you and wringing out another piece of cloth over a bucket. You braced yourself for more pain, but the water was cool and the blonde gently wiped your forehead and healthy cheek, your neck, and upper chest, humming softly to herself. She dampened the towel anew and folded it to lay it on your forehead. It was only now she realized you were awake.
“Little bird.” She laid a hand on your cheek. “The worst is over.”
Valka came over with a mug and put it down next to you. She gave you an exhausted but encouraging smile.
“I apologize for hurting you this much. The infection was spreading across your face, I needed to draw it out. You will need at least a week to heal.”
You raised a hand to your face, but Eivor stopped you from touching yourself.
“We will put on a bandage later. Now there is just a salve,” Valka explained, “and you will have to drink this daily to help your body fight from the inside and give you strength.”
She handed you the clay jug and you carefully raised it to your lips, taking a small sip of the concoction. It tasted sweet and earthy, immediately spreading warmth throughout your body and giving you the strength to fully open your eyes again. The wolf-kissed smiled at you.
“I will leave you in Valka’s care for now. Soon I will take you to my hut and look after you there,” she promised. “I need to go and attend to important business, but I will bring you both supper later.” She took your hand again and softly rubbed her thumb over your knuckles, then she raised it to her lips and placed a feather-light kiss on the back of your hand.
Before leaving, she put her hands on Valka’s shoulders and sincerely thanked her for helping you. Then she gave you a last smile and left.
The healer forced you to drink three jugs of her wonderful tea, then she helped you outside to relieve yourself and brought you back to bed, rubbing the salve into your cheek again and ordering you to sleep for now. The ointment numbed your skin and made the pain bearable. Taking a final look at the sun setting behind the mountains, you drifted away to sleep again.
-
When Eivor brought bread and stew later, you felt much better already. The two Viking women sat on the floor next to you as you ate together. The stew was made with thick chunks of fatty meat and big slices of root vegetables, filling your stomach for the first time in days. Eivor told Valka about the raid; apparently the healer had not attended the celebrations yesterday. When the warrior told Valka about Dag's terrible state last night and this morning, the dark-haired woman just shook her head about this much exorbitance and stupidity.
Even though you were still exhausted and not fully present at times, it was nice to sit with the two women and listen to them exchange stories and opinions, talk about plans for the future and a woman Valka was thinking about pursuing. The name Randvi caught your attention at one point, but with a meaningful look from Eivor, the topic was changed.
As it got dark and you couldn't stop yourself from yawning, they debated what to do with you this night. Valka offered to sleep on the floor so you could stay here, but Eivor argued that she had a bed large enough and far more comfortable for the both of you. The healer admitted that you seemed to be stable for now and made Eivor promise to call for her immediately if anything happened with you.
She handed Eivor a bag with the ointment, a few clean bandages, and the herb blend for the tea you should drink for the next few days. The blonde slung the pouch over her shoulder, then she approached you with a suddenly shy smile.
“We haven’t asked you for your opinion on this at all. Do you even want to sleep in my hut?” she asked timidly, seeming almost nervous as she waited for your answer.
You shook your head and smiled. “Eivor, I’m just glad to be out of that terrible cell. I will sleep on the floor if I need to.”
“Little bird, tonight you will fly into the land of dreams on the softest wings. This bed is fit for a queen.”
You held up your arm and wrapped it around the back of her neck as she picked you up again. Valka accompanied you outside, then she said her goodbyes and left for the longhouse. Eivor carried you in the other direction and used her knee to open the door to her big wooden cottage. Red rugs covered the wooden floorboards and a big torch next to the entrance lit the room, drenching it in flickering golden light. Her bed really was gigantic, with intricate carvings on the headbord and furs draped over the mattress.
The warrior gently lowered you onto her bed and laid down an enormous quilt over your body. She lit a candle on her side of the bed and put out the torch. Then she sat down on a big trunk and took off her boots, placing them neatly at the foot of the wooden bedframe. Slowly, trying not to disturb you, she laid down next to you and covered herself with a thin blanket. You raised your head.
“Won’t you get cold?”
Eivor looked at you in surprise, probably having assumed you were already sleeping. She gave you her wonderfully crooked smile.
“I’m very hot blooded. I don’t mind the cold.”
“I admire that,” you sighed. “I’m always freezing.”
She turned toward you and rested her head on her arm, stretching out her other hand to brush a strand of hair out of your face. Her fingers stayed on your forehead for a moment.
“Your fever has dropped. Good,” she mumbled, “you’ll be better tomorrow. Sleep now, little bird.”
-
Later at night you woke up from the sound of your own chattering teeth. The cold had entered the hut and taken a hold of you with its icy fingers; your whole body was cramping up and shaking.
You looked over at the warrior lying next to you. Eivor was sleeping soundly, her bare arms thrown over her head and one leg sticking out from under the blanket. She seemed to be immune to the bitter cold.
There was no way you could fall asleep like this, freezing and shivering, your jaw hurting from trying to stop the chattering. You had to take the plunge. Slowly, you turned over to Eivor, scooting closer to her and lifting the quilt to come in contact with her warm body. She was radiating heat.
You snuggled up to her, laying your head on her shoulder and resting your arm on her chest. She flinched at your weight on her, opening her eyes to make sure there was no danger. You two shared a silent look, then she smiled and wrapped her arms around you, pulling you in closer and warming you up so quickly that you were asleep again within minutes.
-
The next morning you were woken by the bustle outside, animal noises mixing with the blacksmith’s hammer and people talking as they walked past. A rooster crowed and reminded you of your old home in Williamsburg. You were still lying close to Eivor, your head in the crook of her arm and your leg intertwined with hers. She hummed in her sleep as she felt you stirring and pulled you in, not allowing you to move.
You noticed that your head wasn’t throbbing anymore. Your cheek still felt tender and the wound stung, but you were sure the salve and the herbal infusion Valka had given you would get you through the day.
Eivor moved again, turning her torso toward you and holding you even closer to her chest.
“How did you sleep, little bird?” she mumbled into your hair. “Did I share enough of my warmth with you?”
You pressed your forehead into the hollow spot beneath her collarbone and inhaled her wonderful scent, a mixture of herbs, tree bark, snow days and a faint musk reminding you of the deer on William’s pasture.
“Without you, I would have frozen to death last night,” you murmured back. She enveloped you with her strong, hot body while her fingers stroked your hair absentmindedly.
Suddenly, the blonde drew her head back to look down at you.
“How is your face? Better?”
You nodded.
“It still burns, but I think the worst is over.”
Eivor let go of you and stretched her arm toward the bag on the wooden trunk, almost falling off the bed when she finally caught it. You grabbed her hand just in time to pull her back up, both of you having to laugh at her clumsiness. She opened the small jar with the rich yellow cream and dipped two fingers into the mixture. Careful not to press down too hard, she rubbed the salve into your cheek, all the way from your jaw to your temple. As she massaged the little dent there, you closed your eyes and leaned into her touch.
After a while, Eivor got up and put on leather pants and a coat over her tunic. She lit the fireplace so you would be warm all day and slipped on her boots, promising to return soon with breakfast and a kettle to make your tea.
You let yourself fall back onto the pillow and pulled the quilt all the way up to your nose. This day promised to be a lot more comfortable than the last ones. There was not going to be much to do except lay around and wait for Eivor to check in on you every once in a while. Maybe she would give you something to do - you could mend clothes for her or sweep the hut or prepare food for later.
It seemed terribly unfair to you all of a sudden, you sitting here warm and fed while Eda and the others were still biding their time in their cell. It was not like you had done anything to gain anyone’s favor, Eivor just seemed to take to you a lot and your injury had drastically changed your path here. You wondered what the others were doing now and what they would be doing in the next few weeks. Eivor hadn’t taken them here without reason, there had to be a purpose to all of this.
A noise at the window made you look up. It was Birna, the white cat from yesterday, shooting you a demanding look through the gaps in the wooden grid that let in some light without leaving a big hole in the wall. Right, no glass windows. No wonder you had been freezing last night. Careful not to lose your balance, you got up from the bed and took the grid from the small opening. You were delighted to see that it had started snowing outside. Birna gave you a satisfied meow and squeezed through the window, immediately heading for the bed and curling up right where you had sat. The spot was probably still warm.
After placing the grid back in the window frame, you joined Birna on the mattress. She stretched and rubbed her tiny head against the back of your hand, demanding to be petted, and you humbly obliged. The two of you sat together for a while, the little lady purring in response as you made her compliments and told her about the cats back at Williamsburg.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. This was strange - why would Eivor knock? To make sure you weren’t indecent? She had already seen you naked yesterday, although it would fit her to still be all honorable and courteous.
Another knock.
“Eivor, are you there? It’s Randvi.”
Your breath caught in your throat and Birna looked up at you, indignant at your sudden refusal to pet her. You did not dare to move or say anything.
“Listen, I know we quarreled yesterday, but does this mean you won’t speak to me now? I just want to talk.” She sounded desperate, knocking harder this time. Fuck.
For a moment, there was silence and you started to hope she had left.
Then the handle turned and the door opened.
Randvi stood in the door, tall and beautiful as ever, her hand still on the doorknob. In a matter of seconds, her face went through surprise, confusion, realization, anguish and then nothing but wrath. You sat stone still, staring at her.
When she spoke, her voice was quiet and ice cold.
“So that’s how it is. I understand now.” She laughed but there was no humor in her voice, only bitterness.
Before you could say anything, she had turned on the spot and slammed the door shut. You could hear her steps fade away on the path to the longhouse and finally dared to release the breath you had been holding this entire time.
Birna had jumped at the loud noise, but now she rolled herself up in your lap and began to purr again. You let your head fall back against the headboard and stared up at the ceiling, trying to gather your thoughts.
Jesus Christ.
You jerked up when you heard steps at the door again, but this time it was Eivor that entered. There were snowflakes in her hair, her face was flushed from the cold and she had brought a well-filled jute bag and a dark metal cauldron. A bright smile was on her face as she stomped her feet to get rid of the snow on her boots and threw the bag on the bed.
“First snow!” she pointed out the obvious and took off her coat before letting herself fall onto the bed next to you and giving Birna a big smooch, which the cat took with an annoyed grumble.
“How did she get in here?” Eivor laughed and ruffled the cat’s fur. “She doesn’t like the snow. The little Viking princess is a sensitive one. She stays in here all winter and complains until the thaw comes.”
You cleared your throat. “I let her in through the window. But…” Eivor seemed to finally sense something was wrong and gave you a questioning look.
“Randvi was here.”
The blonde closed her eyes and sighed, then she blinked up at the ceiling just as you had done minutes earlier.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. It’s complicated.” She shook her head.
You bit your lip and gave her an apologetic look. “She seemed displeased.”
This was a vast understatement, but you did not want to get involved in this, whatever it was.
“I’ll talk to her later. This has nothing to do with you,” Eivor promised. Exactly.
You shared a breakfast consisting of bread, goat cheese and dried fruit while the water over the fireplace had started boiling and the herbs inside filled the entire room with their pleasant smell.
When you had finished your meal and started sipping your brew, Eivor propped herself up on her elbow next to you.
“Y/N?”
“Yes, Eivor?”
With her fingertips she drew patterns into Birna’s fur, her brow furrowed in contemplation.
“Do you think you could take another look at the map? I am planning on raiding Fort Winton tomorrow or the day after. The time is right, we are experienced in fighting in the snow and cold. I want to get this done.”
You swallowed hard, thinking of the life you had led before. If you supported this raid, you were betraying all your previous affiliations and fealties. Winton’s Steward was a terrible man. He had scared you when you were younger and he scared you now. You were sure that there was not a single person under his rule that enjoyed his company or thought him a good sovereign. You took a deep breath.
“I will. But under one condition: I do not wish to be seen as subject to English rule and fealty. I owe them nothing. I will give you all my knowledge and skill and I will swear my loyalty to you, only you. I will no longer be an English prisoner but your servant and by extension, a part of this clan.”
Eivor listened to you intently and considered your proposition for a moment, then she nodded.
“I would not have let you come into my house and sleep next to me if I did not trust you already. I do not know how, but it sometimes feels like destiny brought us together.” Her hand moved toward yours, then she pulled it back and continued to pet Birna.
“I will speak to the council about this tonight. Tomorrow you shall help us strategize, so we can leave at first light the next day.”
You agreed, stretching out a hand to stroke Birna’s fur and just so happening to brush over Eivor’s knuckles with your fingertips. Both of you had to smile, feeling as if you shared a secret, one that had not fully revealed itself to you yet.
The warrior actually had a few tasks for you that you could take care of in bed: a few of her tunics that had tears and holes, a pair of pants which had ripped at the back - she went crimson red and mumbled something about a drinking contest and a wrestling match - and an old fur coat she had grown out of but gave to you to mend and wear.
You spent the day with Birna, sewing and patching up Eivor’s clothes while telling the cat stories about Delia and Henry and your favorite adventures from your childhood. Eivor came by later, dropping off some more fruit to pass the time until supper. She seemed slightly irritated, but when she saw your work on her clothes she rejoiced.
“You’re an artist, little bird! With you by my side, I will soon look like a queen!”
You laughed and clutched the fur coat to your chest.
“I will take this as my first payment, then. Thank you. Maybe I will finally be warm for once.”
“Y/N, are you telling me you were cold last night? You must be made of ice if my heat could not pierce you,” Eivor teased you playfully.
“Oh, it most certainly did. It seems you are the only one capable of doing so.” You smiled at her. She grabbed your hand and rubbed her thumbs over your palm.
“I need to go now and meet the council. I will come back to warm you later.” She stroked Birna’s fur one last time, then she got up and in leaving threw you a last look that sent blood into your cheeks and made your stomach flutter.
“I long for it,” you whispered after she had closed the door behind her.

This story takes place in modern times, starring you. By a simple mistake, you venture into a land unknown and a time before your own. Though frightened, a certain tall husky blonde comforts you through the storm raging inside your body. Once you feel more grounded, the bed you seem to be sharing with her becomes more comfortable and you drift off.
Chapter 1: Wolf-Kissed
Readers POV
I remember when i first peered into Norse mythology and the immediate connection i felt with it. Part of me felt like I was lost in time. I couldn’t survive a day the way people once did yet the thought always intrigued me. It intrigued me so much I even had a bracelet engraved with my favorite Norse goddess, “Freyja” made for me. It was made of leather, just covering my wrist and the material the engrave was on made of Jade.
It was all for fun when i thought out the plans to travel here so far away from home. I had seen many things and been to many places, but there was nothing quite like Stonehenge.
Something attracted me to the stones and the closer I stepped to them, a feeling of deep desire surged through my body, as if I just so happened to be in the right place at the right time. Finally, I passed through the stones and looked as they hovered over me.
Suddenly, time stopped. Everything felt different but everything looked the same. The last thing I remember is passing out and the world as i knew it went blank.
The only world i've known, and the world i'm not sure if i'll ever get to see again.
Hardly able to open my eyes, I was greeted by a sudden warmth. Fur linings on an unfamiliar bed, and the subtle crackling sound of a fire pit nearby; a warm light fogging over my cloudy eyes as I slowly began to open them.
“You’re finally awake.” A husky woman’s voice said and my eyes were suddenly wide open.
To my surprise I saw a broad woman with a blonde medium length braid hovering over her shoulder, her cheeks flushed, dressed in a fur shoulder drape with long layers underneath. She looked as if she were ready for war. I could make out a large scar across her left check. Sitting down in a chair next to my bed some distance away, her piercing blue eyes looked at me almost as if concerned.
I sat up quickly in bed, pulling the bedding to my shoulders.
“Where am I? Who are you?” I asked with hesitance, intimidated by the change of scenery and the large woman sitting in front of me.
“I should be asking who you are! I found you just outside of my camp passed out and dressed in strange clothing.”
A sudden rush of color came across my face. I remembered the modern gray shirt and blue jeans I was wearing when I made the transition. Did I really travel back in time? Could this all be just a dream? Then, I realized the clothes I once wore were replaced by a long sleeved tan tunic.
“Then... how am i wearing this?” I said.
The woman chuckled at me.
“When I found you, you were filthy from getting soaked in the rain. I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable but, it would feel wrong if i just left you like that.”
Eivors POV:
Who is this woman? She speaks in a strange dialect, nothing like the saxons and must come from a strange land. The only thing that sticks out to me is the engraving on her bracelet. The same engraving Valka prophesied to me before. If she comes from far away, why would she have one of our goddesses names on her bracelet? The bracelet is the main reason I helped her in the first place.
“A far away stranger will come to you with a symbol of love, for you are bound by souls only separated by time.”
I remember when Valka asked me to stop by because she had something important she wanted to talk to me about. I tried to never think about love too much, and to especially never dwell on it. What could have been or what couldn't. I had my fair share of love misfortunes. With a lifestyle like mine, there's no time to focus on things like that. Right?
Poor thing, she looks terrified. There is something about her that's so different from anyone I have ever met. Finding her in such a vulnerable state isn't the only thing that intrigues me about this mysterious girl. It's not everyday you can lay your eyes on someone so attractive. Even her skin shines differently than anyone I have ever laid eyes on.
My mind wanders back to when i was changing her clothes, having to untie and undo odd buttons. The way her skin had formed goosebumps and the hairs on her arms stood up from the cold, having to refrain myself from looking too hard at certain places on her body.
When I brought her in, Randvi didn't understand exactly why I would help a complete stranger. Although she questioned it and very clearly didn't agree with me, at the end of the day it's my decision to make as Jarl. I know Randvi still struggles with her feelings for me and is just cautious with who I bring into the settlement.
“Thank you… thank you for helping me and bringing me in. Im so confused and i'm not too sure where i am.” The strange girl says to me, looking like she wants to cry but is trying to stay strong.
Snapping back to reality, the realization hits me that she truly has no idea where she is or what happened to her.
“What's your name? Where are you from? You must remember something from before.” I pry at her.
Readers POV
“My name is [y/n], I could never forget that. I can't remember where I came from or how I ended up here but maybe, with some time I can figure it out.”
I was lying through my teeth. But, I knew I couldn't just tell her the truth. No one would believe me if I told them. If this was gonna be my home for a while, I needed to at least give the impression that I was sane.
Her eyes kept lingering on my bracelet. Then, I realized where I was and how far back I had gone. Everything was beginning to make sense. I didn't know how to explain it, but i had to come up with something quick.
“I see you keep looking at my bracelet… it was given to me. It's a gift.” I said, shifting my eyes to the other side of the room.
“Fair enough,” the blonde peered at me up and down.
“I think you need more rest. Something will come to you when you wake up. You have some explaining to do, it seems.”
She stood up and blew out a few candles surrounding the bed. Her feet shuffled across the wood floor to the other side of me. Letting out a big yawn, she sat on the bed beside me facing the wall and tossed some of her armor and weaponry on the ground. Finally, she turned around to explain herself.
“There were no extra beds so, I hope temporarily sharing my bed won't be too bad. I can arrange a room for you eventually. This all happened at the very last minute.”
I could tell she wasn't trying to make me uncomfortable. As bad as the situation was, it could have been a lot worse if she had not found me. I could tell she knew that as well.
“I never got your name…” I said wearily.
She stretched her legs out on the bed and turned to face towards me, head resting on her hand and the other pulling the fur covers over herself.
“My name is Eivor, of the Raven Clan.” She said with another yawn.
I watched as she rested her head on the feather pillows, not wasting any time to fall asleep. I listened as her breaths became longer and slower. For such an intimidating woman she looked so peaceful when sleeping.
My mind began to race, why would she help me? Could I ever be accepted here? Knowing I had a sleepless night ahead of me, I turned over and tried to doze off anyway. I had never felt so alone and lost before. A tear escaped my eye and I quickly threw my hand over my mouth to cover any noise, not wanting to disturb Eivor. Just when I thought I could get away with it i heard the covers shuffling beside me.
A hand grazed my shoulder, leading me to turn around and see Eivor looking at me with a worrisome face.
“I know you're scared, but you’ll figure out what happened. Perhaps I can even help you and we can figure it out together. As long as i'm here you won't have to go through this alone. I hope that can bring you some comfort. Go ahead cry it out but please, try to get some rest afterwards,” she told me in a whisper.
Something in her words lifted a weight from my shoulders.
Then, i totally fucking lost it.
Sitting up in bed I cupped my face with my hands letting all my tears flow freely. I felt a warm embrace coming from the side of me. It was Eivor enveloping my sides. Her hands were slightly rough and I could feel all of the scars on the palms of her hands. She grasped gently onto my arms and I could make out a faint scent of vanilla and alcohol. I laid my head on her chest and the warmth coming off her body seemed to calm me down.
It was nice to feel someone there with me, knowing they were real and in the flesh. My tears began to dry after a while of crying. Eivor didn't seem annoyed with me keeping her up, even if she was clearly exhausted.
“I feel better now.” I managed to speak some words once I caught my breath.
“There you go, everythings gonna be okay. Until you can find your way back home… maybe this can be your home for a little while.” Eivor said to me.
“Thank you. I'll try to get some sleep now. I'm sorry for-“ Before I could say another word, Eivor stopped me.
“Don't apologize for that.” She still had a hold on me.
We laid down together and she never let go of me, keeping one hand on the side of me.
“Goodnight, [y/n]”
“Goodnight…” I mumbled back at her.
My eyes began to grow heavy and I started to finally doze off.

TALES OF THE BEAR-HEART:SOMA
CHAPTER I.
A Letter from the Wolf-Kissed
Soma's POV:
I opened my eyes swiftly , my head was heavy with the thoughts swirling inside after a sleepless night. A warming beam of light brightened my room as the sun was rising slowly outside. I turned to my side and looked at the empty side of the bed. I ran my fingers slowly on the cold pillow and let out a sigh. It doesn't matter how many girls of Gratenbridgeshire offered themselves to me , this place belongs to Eivor. Well, only in my dreams..she haunts me like a she-wolf hunrgry to taste meat and blood. And I would always face this wolf, giving in and letting my walls down for her, but this world was apart from reality.
I had a jarldom to rule and protect my people, today was no different either. Just when I finished dressing up I heard knocking on the door like a bear would rant at me from outside.
'Splendid morning Soma, I know you had fun with that blonde amazon last night, I came to make sure we arrive on time , so get your ass out here.'- Revna greeted me with her raspy voice. She was my right hand in ruling the town , my finest warrior and my best friend in one tall, brunette woman. She was even taller then Eivor and always carried two hammers on her sides. Her weapons put many fine men in the grave , Revna was a beast on the battlefield, but a big hearted puppy to her loved ones. She and I grew closer after Birna left us, I needed somebody to trust.
'You think yourself a seeress of all.I haven't slept a bit, even without any ladies invited in my bed-I stepped out of the door grinning, and placed my hand on her shoulder.' Don't worry my friend, Cheolbert must be still sleeping like a baby.
We both headed to the longhouse as Cheolbert arrived late at night and asked an assemby in the morning. I didn't know what was it about, so I felt curious to know. I peaked towards the main entrance seeing jarls arriving on horseback from the neighbouring jarldoms. It must be either a wedding or war ahead of us, I thought to myself.
'What is on your mind Soma? You seem a bit worn-out this morning.-Revna questioned me by gently pushing my right arm. I didn't want to tell her the truth , that Eivor was the cause of my insomnia.
'Everything is fine Revna , it was full moon yesterday and you know well I can't sleep when it comes'-I assured my shield maiden. 'We have a long day ahead of us, I count on you if we have to fight side by side again.'
Revna silently nodded and hurried to the front of the assembly. The longhouse was filled with people, curious eyes were glued to Cheolbert who stepped in , wearing a glorious red and white cloak and black learher tunic. Our eyes met and he signalled me he wanted to speak in private at the side first.
We both went to the map room, his blue eyes were narrow and mysterious. I gave him a welcoming hug.
'Cheolbert my dear friend, I swear you've grown a feet since we last met.'-I teased.
' Soma, good to meet again, I wish the circumstances were different.'
'What happened? '-I grew impatient and started walking up and down.
'Eivor told me to hand over this letter to you first'.-he held out a letter with a raven seal. I turned my back so that he can't see my face, and I felt the world around me spin. Is she in trouble? Is she alright?
Dear Soma,
I write you in haste now, as your rotten friend Brina , whom you kept so close to your heart as a pet has betrayed all of us. She is a serpent who slyly earned your trust. She got married to Ivarr the Boneless and they sworn revenge on both Ravensthorpe and Gratenbridgeshire. Ivarr wants to be king of this continent...son is like farher. Their fleet is now close to us, we must unite our men and act swiftly. Please come as fast as you can to Ravensthorpe. I already informed your neighbours, I sent Cheolbert to gather all the men at Gratenbridgeshire.
When we win there will be a cause of celebration I sware to you dear. With all my thanks.
Eivor the Wolf-Kissed
My heart grew heavy with disappointment and sadness over hearing what Birna brought for our people. After all I had two friends betray me, I will cut the throat of this traitor too I swore to myself.
I felt blood rush to my cheeks as the word 'dear' was ringing like a bell in my head. The wolf could play mind games with me even if she wasn't here.
The assemby was quick, I told my people to gather every man to fight for the woman who made this place a safe home for us. I climbed up to my black mare after putting on my silver and blue gear and dictated a rushed tempo for our horses on the way to Ravensthorpe, so our army arrived the same afternoon. I held my back tightly and confident in my straddle to show people a firm leader. As we rode closer to the gates a flood of excitement gripped my stomach. It was funny because I feared not the bloodshed of war or heavy strikes of axes, but seeing the deep blue eyes of Eivor again. Too afraid what I would see in the reflection of her endless iris. Just when I was confident enough to let the idea of the two of us together go , I knew it well the depth of her eyes will eat me alive again. Somehow Freya threads our paths in the same direction? Why does she condemned me to suffering?
***
As I got off my mare at the entrance of the longhouse Valka humbly walked up to me and greeted with a tusk of her best mead. It was a secret recipe I was obsessed with so Eivor sometimes sent a few barrells to me. Valka made the sweet liquid with a hint of star anise and petals of orange jasmine.
'Now that you are finally here the universe is balanced'- she winked handing over the mead. I had no idea what she mean by that, but I gratefully accepted and took a long shot.
'Thanks Valka, I am happy to see my favourite seeress. -I winked at her and slightly raised my tusk.' May this give me strength and fortune on the battlefield.
'Freya will have her hand on your shoulder , she has plans with you.'
This conversation made me suspicious Valka had a vision of the future and it seems I am the part of it. Anyhow, I was sure of one thing, my duty is to be here and help.
'I can't wait to fulfill my destiny, my friend. Whatever the future holds I am ready to take it in.'
In that moment Eivor rushed out of the longhouse seeming quite annoyed with something her rough hands forming into fists. She looked astonishing, deadly in her black and gold armor, the axe of her father as a token swagged on her side. Even if it was a brief moment, I saw her eyes widened at the sight of me, her look pierced into my soul when she smirked at me. She was saying without words that she was grateful that I came and trusted me, this filled my heart with warmth and my chest swelled.
'Dear Soma' -she spoke with her deep, raspy voice that was stealing my sanity every time I heard her close.'I knew you would come and aid us in the moment of need.'-she took my right hand for a moment then let it fall back.
'You know I'll always be there like a true friend. It's my pleasure.-Eivor's smile ended at the word friend, but people around us were staring and we weren't more than that behind their backs either.
To cut off our slightly awkward meeting, Randvi stormed out of the wooden bulding her cheeks burning, and arms folded. She looked like a child who didn't get the piece of cake. I wondered what happened between those two in there. In the second she caught a glipse of me and Eivor standing quite close , Randvi joined between us and politely thanked me to bring a huge force here. She was a perfect diplomat and an impeccable service around me after that. She arranged a dinner for only the leaders and jarls to lay out the plan for tomorrow's battle. We decided to surprise Birna and Ivarr and hide our best archers in the woods until they ride towards the gates. I must admit I can see now why Eivor loves Randvi. The copper-haired woman was not only beautiful with soft features, but intelligent in a way that humiliated the man leaders here.
It felt extremely hard to look at Randvi and listen to the details as I felt my helpless jealousy hit me like a wave. It angered me how Eivor drunk every word she uttered her eyes sometimes wandered lover than Randvi's lips.
After dinner I wanted to retreat to my tent as soon as possible , the sight of Eivor and Randvi in the same room sickened me. Before I could do that Randvi came to me with a letter.
'Soma, wait. Let me give this letter to you.' she instructed quickly.
'Who is it from?'-I enquired furrowing my brows with second guessing.
'It's uh..from me actually...-she hesitated then blurted out' there are certain things you better read than hear me say it out loud.'
This fucking woman had guts to speak to me like that..I knew it was intently personal. She must have heard rumors of Eivor's visits to me sometimes, but hardly knew the wolf was only hers not mine for a single bit.
'How thoughtful of you. The rumors are true , you really have balls in spite of being a shieldmaid. I will read your bedtime story later, now if you excuse me.' Randvi 0-Soma 1. Every inch of me wanted to tear off she seal and read it right away but I waited until I was left alone in the provacy of my tent.
Jarl Soma,
Please let me be honest and plain with you. Eivor's invite here was merely political. I know more than anyone how she behaves around women to get what she wants. I have firsthand experience in that. But you have to know Eivor doesn't look at you like a woman, she told me she sees a long lost older sister in you. If I were you, I would think twice what I let people gossip about and make a fool of myself.
Randvi
In the second I finished reading I crumpled the piece of paper and thowed behind my back. Her words were agressive and protective just like a female wolf and I could feel Randvi's bite marks on my neck.
I decided not to believe anything until I asked Eivor.. oh but how could I do that? The wolf would realise I cared about her in a different way, and I couldn't let that happen until she gives me something. A flickering sign in the hollowing darkness I am living in.
I decided to visit Valka and have drinks together, I desperately needed somebody to keep my mind of this mess I became part of.
***
The little hut stood with watchful eyes on the slight hill close to the village. There were died flowers hanged outside and a sweet smoky and flowery scent filled my nostrils. As I get close I recognized Valka now wearing a red gown with hood on her head. She looked like Freya preparing a love potion as she was pouring something in a tusk and put some petals on the top.
'Good Evening Valka.. I hope you don't mind my late night visit. I just needed some of your special mead I guess and my feet brought me here' I stared to her fiery reddish brow eyes. She had neat tattos on her face forming dots and gentle marks on her smooth skin.
'I knew you would come tonight, so I prepared this mead with some herbs that will rock you in a pleasant slumber.'she handed over the tusk , the liquid looked like shiny rubies.
'How is that you always know better what I need than myself?-I smirked at her and found comforting in her eyes.
'A gift from the gods my lady-her eyes had a mysterious spark in them, a little dimple formed on her face from smiling.
'Come sit with me inside, it is getting cold out here.'
I nodded and followed the seeress into the firm hut, theought the entrance ornamented with animal bones and more dried flowers.
There was a freshly lit fire inside warming up my limbs and cheeks. It also colored the space with wrath orange that played on our faces like the sunset.
'Now tell me, what makes your heart heavy?'-she asked with care.
'I think I feel a bond to Eivor that is irrational and grows between us every time we meet. It is like an invisible string pulls me towards her maybe it's the wish of the Gods.-I sipped bitterly in the mead , a slight soothing feeling ran through my body.
'We both know our fate is inevitable, so you have to show what's inside your heart first.' -Valka looked deeply in my eyes. -You are Soma, our fearless Bear warrior sent by Freya to our aid and to fight on Eivor's side.
'Randvi told me Eivor loves me with a sisterly care.. I image she is right., look at her, she could have anybody.
'Don't listen to Randvi , she is hurt and trapped in her own feeling of helplessness. If she can't have Eivor accepted by the public, then nobody can'-Valka nodded and squuezed my hand.
'I just can't trust people anymore Valka. My love towards people turned into a bitter storm inside me.-Except for Revna, I couldn't trust a soul, not even Eivor. She didn't reveal her hidden side to me.
'Just talk to her in the morning, it will ease your turmoil Soma.-she winked and headed to bed. To my utter surprise she started to undress in front of my sleepy eyes, they popped in surprise no matter the mead.
Valka's toned back was shining under the wrath orange fireligt, she revealed her impeccably and naked body.
'Good night Valka, I have to get some sleep now. Thank...you...for uh.. everything!' I mumbled to her and hurried to my hut until I was able to stand still. Before sleep my head was filled with Eivor's piercing eyes and... I was a bit surprised but Valka's slender back flashed through as well. Damn, this woman was also fine. Like all women!
My eyelids felt to heavy , soon enough I was fast asleep like a newborn baby.

WARNING: tw food descriptions and the consumption of food and alcohol, smut...
You and Eivor join one another for a feast. Eivor begins to make moves on you and you begin to pick them up. However, the moment is short when Randvi distrupts the both of you. Eivor returns to meet you in the bedroom feeling defeated, the night turns hot and steamy.
See below: Stonehenge itself, as depicted in Valhalla.
Chapter 3: SOS
Readers POV
The sun began to set and I heard a loud ringing noise in the distance.
“Sounds like it's time for a feast. Shall we join them?” Eivor said holding an arm out for me to grab onto.
I could feel Eivor’s bicep bulge through the layers of clothes she had on. She knew exactly what she was doing. Interest sparked my mind and I began to wonder what lies underneath all the armor and fur.
Eivor led me back to the longhouse where settlers from all parts of the world grouped together to indulge in good food and drink. Music played while laughter and chatter drowned out the tune. Fresh berries and grapes lined the wooden benches and barrels of mead sat not too far from them. The aroma of a stew cooking filled my nostrils.
I let go of Eivor’s arm and she sat down next to me with a mug full of ale. Watching Eivor’s plump lips press against the mug our eyes latched onto one another. Quickly looking away I began to dig into the food in front of me. It had been so long since I last ate anything.
There was a different taste to everything, a fresher one. Untouched by any chemicals that are pumped into the air and soil like the time I truly come from.
“Try this…” Eivor grabbed an exotic berry, getting a firm grip on the sides of my jaw. Opening up my mouth, she placed the berry on the tip of my tongue as the juice ran down from my bottom lip down her thumb.
After chewing and savoring the sweet taste of both the berry and Eivor’s flesh finally, I swallowed. Eivor only gave me a presumptuous smirk, unphased and unapologetic for invading my personal space. Fortunately, I didn't mind one bit.
Being sexy is effortless to her.
She spoke to me with no words. Innate animal instinct and a magnetic attraction began to form between the two of us. Just as I was trying to hold back and deny my deep craving for her, she sucked off the juice that I spilled on her thumb from my mouth. A not so subtle tease coming from her.
Eivors POV
Our flirtatious charades were cut short by an intoxicated Randvi slamming her mug on the bench in front of me.
“Eivor, I need to speak with you… That is if you can find the time.” Randvi said, her eyes glancing over to [y/n].
Gods, not right now...
[y/n] pulled away, distancing herself from me and Randvi with a suspicious look on her face. I excused myself, and Randvi followed just behind me. Finally, we were cutting the corners to the alliance room.
The air grew thicker but the chatter of the longhouse quieted.
“Really, Eivor? You don't even know her and she’s replacing me… I sacrificed everything for you, I gave my everything to you! Your belt buckle couldn’t have waited just a little longer?” Randvi exasperated.
Leaning against the wall, I couldn't think of anything to say. The wound was still fairly fresh but she was wrong.
My body knows her and calls out for her like no one ever before. I couldn't explain the prophecies Valka told me of, it would just hurt Randvi more to know that she's not the one and never was.
“No one is replacing you, Randvi! We haven't even done anything together. We both know our relationship ran its course. How dare you pull me out here like that?” I said with a stern voice, my hands clenched.
“The way you look at her… You never looked at me like that.” Randvi said, her voice weakening.
The awkward silence grew and I didnt know what to say. Knowing she was right, I still tried to defend myself.
“Randvi, I did love you… I-“
Before I could say anything else, Randvi pulled the pledge knife out of the map and chucked it at the wall, barely missing me.
“With that knife we created this. I helped build you, and I will never let you forget that.” Randvi uttered, standing tall before storming off.
Though she was clearly on the verge of tears, I know she would never let me see her weak.
I just hurt everyone around me. Sigurd, my people… Randvi.
Readers POV
After everyone left the longhouse, I found myself alone in Eivor’s bedroom. Feeling conflicted, I longed for nothing more than the silence and the sound of a flickering candle next to my bed side.
What am I doing? I knew this was a bad idea, i should have never involved myself this deeply with the people here.
Eivor…
Randvi, why did she look at me like that? I felt so disgusted with myself afterwards. Letting my loneliness consume me, my anxiety began to tell me I didn't belong here and that I was merely trespassing.
I sat up in bed to see an exhausted Eivor standing by the doorway. She looked disheveled, like she had seen a ghost. I knew the tired expression on her face was not from a long day but the unwanted conversation with Randvi. She sat down on the bed with me and began to take off her cloak, throwing her boots on the ground.
“Eivor… What happened?” I nudged at her shoulder.
Eivor turned and looked at me, her bright blue eyes piercing through my soul as if she was telling me how exhausted she was. Tired of people, tired of explaining herself, and tired of everything that came with being a Jarl. She collapsed onto my chest and I held her there for a moment, stroking her hair and comforting her.
Eivor wrapped her arms around my waist tightly, playing with the strings on my dress.
“Being here with you feels like home to me. Come here, closer.” Eivor spoke to me with soft words.
My stomach sank, and my heart began to beat rapidly.
Eivor grabbed my chin and pulled it closer to hers, giving me a soft tender kiss, the taste of alcohol lingering on her lips. Her rough hand grabbed the back of my neck for support, pulling me in for more. With her other hand, her scarred fingers began to trickle down my arms and back up to the side of my ribs, gripping me tight with frustration.
I let out a subdued moan, unable to contain myself. She began to make her way down my neck with kisses and licks and then back up to suck on my earlobes.
“Eivor…” I said with another moan.
I felt her breath on my baby hairs, and my skin began to form goosebumps. Losing all control I ran my fingers down her back as she continued to kiss me wherever on my body she pleased. Pulling the collar of my dress down she began to place kisses on my chest. I could feel my underwear begin to soil and the ability to control the moans escaping my mouth weakened.
So many questions unanswered, what the hell am I doing?
My mind said one thing but my body said another.
“Eivor... I want you.” I whispered in her ear.
Without hesitation Eivor began to pull off the grey tunic she was in, disclosing her pale scarred flesh. My eyes stayed put on her chest and how the fleshy nubs on her bosom hardened.
“Let me see you, elsker.” Eivor said with a tug at my dress.
I stood up and began to untie the strings of my dress in front of Eivor, pulling the first layer off and throwing it to the ground. Eivor watched with careful eyes, sitting on the bed with spread legs and an exposed chest as I stood there in my last layer.
“Take it off for me, I want to watch.” Eivor instructed me, eyes locked onto me.
Undoing the last string on my tunic, I pulled the cloth over my head, holding the fabric up to my chest for a second before dropping it to the ground. My bare breasts were now on display for Eivor to see.
Finally, down to the last item of clothing on my body. I slowly started to pull down the fine silk underwear I was wearing until they dropped to the ground.
“Enough teasing, love. I want you all to myself. Right now.” Eivor said, almost breathless.
Eivor was unable to compose herself anymore, her breathing began to stagger. She stood up next to me, looking down into my eyes and started impatiently unbuckling her trousers. Leaning in for more wet kisses, she started to suck on my neck leaving a wet bruised spot. Moving downwards onto my chest sucking on my hard nipples, her hands with a firm grip on my ass.
I grabbed hold of Eivor’s blonde hair and let her lose herself in my body. On her knees now she started to massage my thighs, leaving a trail of kisses on my stomach. Eivor cupped my womanhood with her other hand making me tense up, removing it to reveal a sticky wet mess I made on her.
“Already soaked and I’ve barely started with you.” Eivor murmured, standing back up to lift me with ease.
My legs wrapped around her naked waist, still not hesitating to give me long deep kisses. Laying me down on the bed softly, her scarred hands grabbed a hold of both of my breasts and massaged my nipples, placing both in her mouth and sucking.
Eivor placed her knee in between my thighs, teasing me softly. I latched onto her and began grinding against her skin up and down, leaving a soaked spot on her leg. Her breasts swayed in front of me and I took a nub in my mouth and sucked, cupping it then releasing it.
I could tell by the expressions on Eivor’s face how bad she wanted me, the way I threw myself at her turning her on to the point of no return. As I left kisses and hickeys on her breasts, her breaths grew short and heavy. Still grinding my cunt on Eivors leg and prodding at her nipples, I could hear her mumble my name.
“Eivor… I want you so bad.” I let out a moan.
The sexual frustration of watching her fuck me with her eyes since I got here was soon to be released.
I opened my legs wide for her and she started to kiss my inner thighs, her hand teasing around my wet cunt. Getting a good grip onto my hips she began to place her hot mouth over my clit. Her experienced tongue made me arch my back and rock back and forth in an attempt to fuck her face.
“Fuck, [y/n] you taste so good.” She said, the pretty view of her head shooting up between my legs.
Eivor’s tongue kept a steady pace and slowly picked up as I held a fist full of her hair. Unable to control my moans and my eyes sealing shut, I held my other hand over my mouth in an attempt to muffle the sound.
I felt Eivor start to fuck me with her tongue, burying it in me as deep as possible, her moaning noises making my cunt vibrate.
While Eivor ate me like it was her last meal, her fingers explored my dripping wet spot, massaging my lips and teasing my hole, making me squirm beneath her.
“Oh, please Eivor I need to feel you inside of me!” I said with a fretful tone.
Eivor pulled her head up from in between my thighs, placing sloppy kisses all over my body until ultimately letting me taste myself on her tongue. The blonde grabbed the side of my neck looking profoundly into my eyes. My mouth reached for her thumb to suck on and a hungry expression fell upon her face, one that I had never seen before. She stroked the molars in the back of my mouth before sticking her long fingers down my throat almost making me gag.
“Gods, you’re so fucking filthy. You belong to me now...” Eivor whispered in my ear, her fingers still playing with me.
“All of me is yours… Eivor. Im yours…” I replied, trying to catch my breath.
Eivor slowly stuck a long slender finger inside of me, inserting from the very tip of her finger pad down to her knuckle. She watched me closely as I threw my head back in awe of how good the length of her felt. She pulled in and out of me until she stopped, her finger beginning to curl.
Keeping a steady pace inside me, I grabbed onto one of her soft breasts and started playing with the hard lump. Eivor let out a tender moan, her finger digging deeper into me.
Moving on to two fingers now, she began pumping me hard and fast. The immoral sounds of my wet pussy and her knuckles clashing filled the room. Removing my hand from her breast, I reached both hands out and gripped onto the back of her neck bracing for impact.
Looking down between our bodies and seeing her long fingers pump into me with vigor and force, I started to make a creamy mess all over her. I felt released and satisfied with how Eivor filled me. Slowing her pace down, she pulled out and placed her fingers on the tip of my tongue.
“Be a good girl and clean yourself off me, love.” The blonde murmured.
I stuck her soiled fingers in my mouth and my tongue made circles around the collision of our dna.
“It's your turn, my wolf.” I said sliding underneath Eivor’s body.
She spread her legs for me and grabbed onto the wooden bedpost. I took in the view of Eivor’s dripping cunt and tall lean body standing over me. Prepping my seat for her with my mouth hanging open, she didn’t hesitate to sit down.
Placing my mouth over her labia, I began to lick her up and down, not yet touching her clit. I savored the taste and she arched her back releasing a deep moan. My hands massaged her thighs and then at last I placed all my attention onto her throbbing clit.
“Oh fuck, just like that!” Eivor demanded, impatience in her voice for me to get her off.
The blonde began to buck and ride my face, her hands releasing the bedpost and now taking hold of my hair. Her firm grip and the heaviness of her body left me more determined to make her finish in my mouth.
I hummed and moaned into Eivor’s warm cunt, making her squirm and buck harder on my face. Listening as Eivors moans became heavier and she tried to catch her breath, the taste of her bittersweet pride coated my tongue and I swallowed every bit.
Eivor stopped so she could catch her breath before pulling off of me and laying down flat on the bed. We made eye contact and she just smiled at me before we chuckled at one another.
Though it was our first time making love, it felt like we had known each other's bodies for the entirety of our lives.
“You handle me so well. Come here, my little drengr.” Eivor said, before giving me one last passionate kiss.
Eivors POV
Damn, who knew her little body could take me so well?
Laying flat on the bed, I watched as my lover stood up and attempted to fix her hair. Eyes fixating on every curve of her body, her skin still dripping with sweat from the intense love we just made.
I was already missing her warm embrace and the feeling of her silky skin against mine, the faint sweet fragrance that radiated off her body.
Finding her way back to my bed, I lifted a thin cover up for her to join me once again. The cute smile she gave me made me melt inside. Facing the wall she laid down with me and I placed my arms around her, hugging her from behind. The feeling of her ass rubbing against my naked body, as if tempting me for another round.
I know what position I'm putting her in next time…
A sleepy drengr interrupted my dirty thoughts,
“Eivor, did you really mean it… Am i yours? Are you mine?”
With every ache in my body I meant it.
I propped my head up on my hand,
“If you allow it, I would take great pride in having you by my side.” I replied back, stroking her hair from behind.
I felt the little drengr adjust herself and turn her head towards me.
“Eivor, I would love that, but…”
My heart skipped a beat.
“I feel like there's more I need to learn about you.”
Though I was disappointed, I brushed it off giving her an understanding nod.
“You’re right, let's talk tomorrow i will explain everything. I promise... For now just sleep with me, here in my arms.” I said letting out a big sigh.
I'm gonna tell her everything tomorrow, if she is the prophecy she will understand. Right?
She turned around snuggling up to me and I watched as her eyes slowly closed.
I’ll cherish this moment forever...

Tw: alcohol, blood, open cuts
Chapter 6: At Sea
Eivor’s POV
Sailing at high speeds and with a blow of my horn, sounds of the waves collided with the ship. The familiar sound of bells ringing in warning in the distance. Civilians rushed to safety as we pillaged and set flames to any nearby building. Their God watched as smoke from their church ignited in the sky. Cutting down men one by one, we gathered as many resources as we could and quickly loaded up the boat. With every swipe of my axe, the thoughts running through my head began to cloud.
“Unsatisfied” is the word that came to mind as the blood from others soaked my clothes. Years of defeat and victory numbed me, death has become a necessity of life. Rollo approached with villagers bound together by rope and ties. Overcome with fear, they watched as Rollo guided them to the ship. With a kick into the back of one of the peasants' knees, he brought them all to the ground and they fell one after the other.
“Rollo, have you gone mad?”
I started to cut loose the ties binding their hands together with one of my daggers. The ropes were so tight that red marks were left on their wrists. They ran off with a speed unlike any I had ever seen. Rollo stared in awe of my actions.
“The only mad person I see here is you, we could have used a few of them!”
“This is not what we came here for.”
“Oh, I see. Eivor is a saint now, even after setting an entire village on fire and stealing from the people.
Our shoulders brushed against each others, and thoughts of rethinking our friendship crossed my mind. I ignored his lewd comment and boarded the ship. The successful raid proved beneficial with shimmering jewels, fine furs and plenty of raw materials to build up the settlement.
“A pity none of It is truly ours, remember that as you live this life. Or has that deranged madwoman I caught you plundering cause a change of heart?”
“It's a pity you’re an ignorant bacraut and always will be.”
His words and actions caused a bout of rage throughout my body and suddenly I couldn't tell the difference between right and wrong. I drew my axe and held it up to his chin, the people on the ship grew quiet and Rollo appeared taken back. Perhaps, he suddenly regretted his words. However, I could not stop myself from expressing my anger and I tossed a bag of plunder at his feet.
“Get the fuck off my ship, find your own way back home.”
Readers POV
I sulked in bed with one of Eivor’s tunics in hand, searching for comfort in the faint scent of her. She left suddenly, with no further explanations. The thought of something happening to her irked me beyond all means. In a perfect world we would have met in the present day, but fate wove a more difficult path. In an attempt to make peace with this life, I explored the new settlement further before stopping in to see Randvi once again.
Randvi laid down sipping on a potion Valka made, with her auburn hair free from the confining braid she always wore. A new glow radiated from Randvi even though she cheated death, she seemed at peace with herself. Cautious eyes perched from the bowl she sipped from when I entered. With a look of disapproval, Randvi motioned for me to come closer towards her and started to eye my hair.
“Oh, what is this?”
With my back turned towards her, she began to place one long delicate braid down my hair. The braid was loose and didn’t require as much tugging as the last braid she made for me. I pulled the braid over my shoulder to take a look, flattered by the kind gesture. Me and Randvi both smiled at one another and I felt a possible friendship forming. The smile quickly faded from my face as I thought about Eivor on yet another dangerous endeavor.
“Hmm, what has she done now?”
“It's silly, really. Part of me hopes that she would one day find it within herself to settle down.”
Randvi laughed, as if she found the statement ridiculous.
“She will never settle down. Trust me, I know…”
Never.
Though I searched for words of comfort, my hopes quickly crashed. In my heart I knew no one knew Eivor like Randvi therefore I knew her words rang with truth. I changed the subject in an attempt to keep my feelings at bay, asking her about how she’s progressing and what she will do next after she is no longer bound to the hut. Randvi attempted to stand up with me, caressing her bandage with her hand. I held her below her elbows trying to support some of her weight, she then looked up at me obviously in pain.
“Stop, I’m perfectly capable…”
With a weak voice she took a few steps before stumbling and almost falling. I shouted her name and caught her before she could fall to her knees. She mumbled a few curse words in her native tongue and then finally submitted to my help. I guided her back to the palette Valka made for her and covered her with a fur blanket. Her head met a feather pillow and she let out a sigh.
“You have much healing to do still, Randvi. I know you think you’re ready but you can hardly hold yourself up.”
Randvi tried to argue with me but I had none of it. Eventually, she submitted to me and I left the room to leave her to rest. Though the sunlight is still young, I can't help but feel tired. Without Eivor, I seem to lose myself more with every passing moment. As the day dragged along I tried to keep myself occupied.
I found myself at the back of the longhouse. The visible disturbance of the patch of flowers that Eivor picked from. It was hard not being able to have contact with her, the days seemed to drag on whenever she wasn’t there. Fortunately, I saw Eivor’s ship sailing nearby getting ready to dock. My heart raced in hopes that everyone was safe. A crowd gathered around the docks and people waved from a distance.
Eivor returned looking proud, and her people proud of her. I ran towards them trying to push through people so I could see her and give her the biggest embrace but it was seemingly far too crowded. I noticed Rollo was nowhere to be found, something felt off and Eivor didn't even make any eye contact with me. Perhaps, she was feeling overwhelmed. We all gathered in the longhouse to celebrate the successful raid.
I couldn't help but feel like I was being avoided. Our conversation ended on strange terms and I figured she might be feeling nervous to continue further. Immediately, Eivor filled a jug in her hand and chugged the ale down fast. Sigurd pulled Eivor up to the front of the throne for her to say a few motivating words to the settlement. Afterwards, music started to play whilst cheer and laughter filled the room. I figured she would come and see me afterwards but as time passed she only stuck to the group of people surrounding her. If anyone was going to make the next move It was going to have to be me. I walked up to where Eivor was laughing and telling jokes and finally our eyes met but a different feeling overcame me. Eivor abruptly left the group and gave an odd smirk, my fingers began to fidget with the braid over my shoulder.
Eivor stared me deeply in the eyes, any doubts I had were erased by the familiar feeling that surged through my body. As aggressive as she tends to be, her hands met my waist slowly, she moved patiently this time. My head clashed with her chest and her hands ran through my hair before she gave me a kiss on the forehead. No words were needed for our greeting, we both knew it may be best to choose our words wisely. Our hands clasped one another and she brought me to our bedroom and closed the door. The boisterous noise of the longhouse now muffled by the division between the walls.
“Everything went well, I returned in one piece…”
“That's clear to see.”
Eivor sat down in a chair by the bed and I moved a stray piece of her hair away from her face, grazing the scar on her cheek with my fingers. Her head dropped down and she cupped the hand I had on her cheek then placing soft kisses on my knuckles. I noticed the usually full of energy woman now had an exhausted aura around her, much like the first night she completely gave herself to me. There was a cold breeze in the air that sent chills down my spine. It was obvious there was something unspoken between us.
“Eivor, you push yourself too hard…” I dropped to my knees and placed a hand on her knee.
“I don't push myself too hard, I do what I need to do. Why can't you understand that?”
Clearly that was the wrong thing to say.
“You’re mistaken, I do understand that. I just don't understand why it's you who has to put yourself at the front of the line and risk your safety everytime. There are plenty of warriors who-“
She cut me off.
“You don't understand a thing about my life and you never will. Maybe you’re better off where you came from.”
I didn't know what to say, I’ve never seen this side of her.
“Eivor, can't you see It doesn’t have to be like this? I'm not saying give up everything, I’m telling you to take things at an easier pace.”
“Wherever, whatever time you come from… You do not understand true sacrifice, your culture is too fragile. I put myself at the front because that is my honor at the front! Honor that you lack any knowledge of...”
“Well, It seems we were wrong about each other.”
“So it seems.”
She tilted her head, a dead look in her eyes. Absolutely shocked, I scoffed at her words that hit sharp as knives. I stood up tall and gathered myself in search for any more words to say. Words that will be my final ones to her.
“The last thing I will allow is to be disrespected, I’m not as ignorant as you think. The only reason I remained here was for you, and that time here is done.”
I grabbed my few belongings and held back my tears. An apology didn’t slip from her mouth, and she couldn’t even look at me. She pushed me away as fast as she lured me to her. She knew about me and why I act the way I do, why would she escalate the relationship further if this is how she felt all along? Both anger and sadness filled me, and I left the room. This isn’t worth it, I'm going back where I belong.
Valka will know how I can find my way back.
Eivor’s POV
Push her away…
The situation I’ve found myself in has become a difficult one. I must choose between my true happiness and my fate. I'm not sure If I even deserve happiness at this point. There’s no way I could live a normal life, yet I keep sabotaging my relationships for just a taste. The look on her face with every blow I threw at her pained me. She deserves something more solid, more than anything I can offer her. I took a sip of ale from my mug and a stabbing pain struck my abdomen.
The wound I hid from her because I knew it would only prove her point further. This wound was unlike any other I ever had. It sucked any remaining energy from me like a parasite. My vision was still blurry from being intoxicated but my mind started to clear up quickly.
What am I doing? I can't let her leave alone like that.
I braced myself to put on a face for the crowd but my wound gushed and bled. The pain began to numb me completely. Taking a deep inhale and stepping outside, I made sure my walk looked peppy rather than tired and nodded and smiled to anyone passing by. The bite of the bitter cold hit me once outside, temperatures seemed to drop low during the night here. There was still light coming from Valka’s hut and when I stepped in, [y/n] was nowhere to be found.
“You’re far too late, I know why you’re here. Drink this.”
“Valka, I’m hurt bad.”
The mixture Valka made for me tasted bitter and sour. I took a seat and lifted my undershirt to reveal the large gash spanning from the top of my ribcage to just above my hip. Without proper care, the wound was becoming infected. Valka quickly pulled out a jar of herbs and rubbed them on the slice and I clenched my eyes tight from the sting before letting out a groan. She wrapped a clean linen around my torso with a worried look in her eyes.
“This wound is beyond even my knowledge… I can't fix It but there is someone who can. The girl is at the stones, you need to find her. Now, you don't have much time.”
