as it turns out I actually enjoy sparkling grape juice, and the reason why I didn't like it last year was in fact because of the prosecco mixed into it

Ultimate Low Calorie Switches List ♥️
Rice -- Cauliflower Rice
Tortilla wrap -- low calorie wrap
Spaghetti pasta -- spaghetti squash
Peanut butter -- powder peanut butter
Noodles -- zoodles
Butter -- coconut oil / olive oil
White flour -- spelt flour or whole wheat flour
Chips/ fries -- baked carrots and veggies
Chips -- popcorn
Toast -- rice cakes
Oil -- applesauce, banana, and avocado
Sugar -- honey (reduce the amount to sugar) and stevia
Mashed potatoes -- mashed cauliflower
Oil for cooking -- spray oil
Wraps -- lettuce leaf wrap
Salsa and chips -- salsa and celery (very yummy)
Ice cream -- banana ice cream/ halo top
Mayo -- mustered, avocado and tomato
Dried fruit -- Fresh fruit
Pizza crust -- pita, thin crust, or low calorie wrap
Soda -- sparkling water and tea. ( I don't really enjoy diet drinks, as those have dyes and ingredients that make me sick )
Popsicles -- frozen banana coins and grapes.
White rice -- brown rice, quinoa, other ancient grains.
Fried eggs -- Hard boiled eggs or poached eggs. (I also found you can put down some parchment paper on a pan and fry your egg with no oil. Same can be done with fish)
Flour tortillas -- corn tortillas
Healthier switch:
Sugary cereal -- fiber cereal ( extremely filling, best for digestion, zero sugar but taste like it does.)
Ice cream -- halo top, enlighten, and other low calorie sweets. ( Good for satisfying the craving)
Chocolate -- dark chocolate ( though higher in calories, it is indefinitely healthier. Having better vitamin content, lower sugar, and better satiation for food)
Deep fry -- pan fry (still fatty, HOWEVER, you will still get a crispy flavor and half the calories)
Juice -- smoothies ( I get it, I get it, don't drink your calories... But sometimes people just enjoy things like juice cleanse, I recommend you don't as smoothies contain more vitamin content, fiber and protein. Juice is just empty calories.)
Ice lettuce -- spinach (again, healthier, more protein. Not saying you can't eat ice lettuce)
Sour cream -- Greek yogurt
Sugar -- cinnamon ( makes things sweeter but also helps your metabolism and lowers sugar cravings)
Eating out -- cooking food. (Not really a food hack, but cooking your food gets rid of unnecessary fats and sugars that are in other people's food. It also helps you connect with your food and makes you less hungry... At least for me)
Latte -- black coffee ( do I really need to explain?)
Energy drink -- take a small ten to fifteen minutes nap.
High cal alcohol drinks -- beer, wine (better for vitamin content and calorie intake) and spiked sparkling water.

Delicious and Easy Wine Cocktails You Can Make at Home
Looking at your wine rack craving something other than a simple glass of wine? Why not try your hand at some mixology by whipping up these delicious and easy wine cocktails in your very own kitchen. From spring to autumn, for a virtual happy hour or entertaining between family and friends at home – this collection of simple and easy recipes will inspire you to shake up the way you enjoy your bottles of wine.
We have chosen some of our favourite Portuguese and South African wines to make these yummy drinks with. But now it is your turn – have fun and feel free to use whatever wines you can get your hands on and tweak the recipes to make them perfect for you. Get ready… set… go!

Spice-up-your-life Red Wine Sangria
4-5 servings
A sangria that will warm up your soul and your taste buds. It’s also the perfect excuse to close your eyes and imagine yourself sitting in a tapas bar in Spain.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of António Maçanita Sexy red wine
⅓ cup of brandy
1 cup of red grapes
1 orange – sliced
2 lemons – sliced
2 apples – cut into wedges
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 cup of orange juice
Steps:
Combine all the ingredients, except for the orange juice and red wine, in a large jug.
Allow this to stand for 1 hour.
Add in the orange juice and red wine and stir everything together.
Serve in ice-filled glasses.
Rosé Red Fruit Sparkler
6 servings
This sparkling rosé cocktail is super fresh and will have the bubbles dancing around your tongue with every sip.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Villiera Tradition Rosé Brut NV sparkling wine
150g raspberries
150g strawberries
80g sugar
120ml water
Rosemary sprigs
Additional strawberries and raspberries for garnish
Steps:
The night before, heat the strawberries and raspberries in a pan over low heat with the water and sugar. Continue stirring as the mixture reduces for 15 minutes. Add some more water if you see it reducing too quickly.
Take the mixture off the heat and crush the strawberries and raspberries through a sieve and collect the juice.
Leave the juice to cool and then pour it into an ice tray. Place the ice tray in the freezer overnight or until the ice cubes are completely frozen.
Place the red fruit ice cubes into Champagne flutes and pour the chilled rosé sparkling wine on top.
Garnish with some extra raspberries and strawberries and a sprig of rosemary.

Pink Port Tonic
Individual serving
Port tonic is basically the Aperol Spritz of Porto and originally came to its fame using dry white port and tonic water. This playful version of the classic is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, and there are many other ways you can experiment with rosé port. Grab your ingredients and be sure to add this to your list of easy wine cocktails to whip up for friends.
Ingredients:
70ml Croft Pink (rosé port)
200ml tonic water
Lemon peel
2 mint leaves
Steps:
Pour the tonic water and port wine into a long drinking glass over ice.
Add lemon peel and garnish with the mint leaves and some lemon zest.
Crisp White Wine Apple Spritz
4 servings
An apple a day? Pay homage to the humble fruit with this wine cocktail using your favourite crisp white wine
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Marras Swartland Los Tros Chenin Blanc white wine
1 bottle of club soda (carbonated water)
180ml apple juice
20ml lime juice
1 apple – sliced
Steps:
Mix the wine, apple juice and lime juice together.
Pour into ice-filled glasses – about ⅔ full.
Top up the glasses with club soda.
Garnish with a slice of apple.

Spice-up-your-life Red Wine Sangria
4-5 servings
