How to avoid being spoiled with ST members' identities
A not so short guide for tumblr newcomers
Hello new fans and (probably) tiktok refugees! This is a guide on how to enjoy sleep token online without being spoiled and also, a guide on how not to be a twat at the same time.
It is rather long, but please give it a chance. If not for you, then for other people who do not want to be spoiled.
I was thinking about making a reminder post about it for ages and recent post from @zelink-stan02 inspired me to make it sooner!
Tumblr is one of not many places online where the chances of you getting jumpscared with the guys' faces and names are minimal. You're not completely safe here, but it's still way better than on other platforms. And a lot of users try to keep it that way.
So, the basics for people who want to avoid spoilers online!
No twitter. That is a place of no honour. No exceptions. Nothing good ever comes from ST twitter. Also i am not calling it x.
Tiktok is also not safe. But most of you probably know that.
Pinterest is a super quick way to see all their faces.
Idk about facebook, but i bet there are morons commenting with their legal names there too. Like on twitter.
Googling is very tricky. Image results will most likely show you their faces among 20 first photos and if you do google them. Well. The main search used to show the names as suggestions up here before; I'm glad to see that for now this is fixed:
BUT LO AND BEHOLD. Pictures tab gives you a treat (derogatory) of a full vessel's name RIGHT THERE:
First suggestion. They're not even trying. So yeah, googling is very tricky.
I didn't scroll further to the right, but i bet ii's name is there too. (Their names are spoiled most often, cause they're writing the songs.)
7. If you look for the lyrics, google sometimes shows vessel and ii's legal names in songwriters' credits. I haven't seen it recently, but it doesn't mean you won't see [redacted] instead of "Vessel 1" and so on in the credits. Try not to scroll too far when checking the lyrics. I think Apple music shows their names in lyics all the time, someone correct me if I'm wrong though.
FORTUNATELY,
if you want pictures, band info, older rituals' shenanigans etc. etc., we have real mvp's here on tumblr!
@sleepanonymous has it all. Including an archive of band-related stuff and also older (mostly) vessel's stuff without any names or faces revealed. Just older songs, if you're curious! Sleep Anon has a neat google drive archive too. Please check the tags and other links in their pinned post!
We also have another pillar of our community here, @thesleeptokenarchive, who shares older rituals' details, song release dates and many other important information and dates.
My dear friend @a-s-levynn created this beautiful archive with band pictures for people who want to find that very specific picture without having their faces spoiled. Behold, the Sleep Token Reference Archive (STRA). Perfect for artists, but not only!
Beautiful people @kaddyssammlung, @vulcanette and @chaosandchaos are posting cool band photos they find regularly. Others too, but these three are the most active! We're also lucky to have @hecetas here, posting their original photos of the band (and not only!)
Also, The Choir is not anonymous. The band itself shared their actual name, Espera, and the ladies are not faceless. It was their decision, band supported it, so you don't need to worry to keep them anonymous.
Last but not least! How not to be a twat in the sleep token fandom space on tumblr:
Do not tag any band-related stuff with their names or older projects' names.
Do not post photos of their faces and tag it as the band or band members.
If you want to sceam about the love you have for that one older Vessel's project, the not solo one, you can do it here: @wings-of-clay
If you are a curious being and face/names reveals don't mean much to you, you can always scream about their past projects with your closest friends in the DMs. Or ask literally anyone here if they want to talk about those things without revealing those things' names publicly. Most of us have their faces and names spoiled anyway. But trust me, you don't need to put any names for us to understand what you mean.
Not exactly a tumblr thing, but! One of the band members streams on twitch. It is an unspoken rule to NOT mention anything band-related in the chat. No "worship", no band name, other members' names, nothing. He wants to keep those things separate. You get blocked there or he stops streaming for everyone if you're too pushy.
And remember folks, digging too much into their personal lives guarantees a court case against you!
I'm not joking. There is a person who is going to face charges for being way too parasocial and stalker-y about them. Do not be like that person. This applies to all public figures, not only sleep token. But some people take anonymity as a challenge to dig even deeper for all their info.
Last, but not least! I have the names spoiled and i don't mind talking about old projects and stuff. So I'm here for you if you want to google something, but are afraid of a face reveal, or if you just wanna talk about the older stuff (tho i admit, i don't know much about previous bands/projects of all of them). However, I will not be engaging in anything related to their private lives or families and I will block you on spot if you mention anything like this to me.
#sleep token#we're over this at least every half a year here but yeah.#reminders about the. uh. etiquette(?) we have here are necessary i think#cause it's really a bit different here than on twitter and other places#and most of the fandom here doesn't accept people who do not respect the band's wishes to stay anonymous

Ok, time for the one post I'll make about Sonic 3 itself now that it's out. Since there's already a full recording of it available online, I'm going to write down my "live reactions" (I already know basically everything that's going to happen, but I'm sure there's at least one or two small surprises left) below the cut so I can get this movie out of my system and move on
The first lines of dialogue are a "Cops love donuts" joke. Off to a great start
A gambling ad popped up right as Shadow broke out and started attacking people gljkdfgh
4 minutes in and they've already used the leitmotif of Live And Learn 3 times
Shadow being sopping wet and miserable is pretty cute
Ace already said this but wow they really did ruin the "Talk about low budget flights line", Sonic saying it feels soooo unnatural and shoehorned in
Unless it's for a really good sequence, I don't understand the point of playing a licensed song for literally 10 seconds
Wow the opening fight with all three of them against Shadow is super short
I'm glad that the gun isn't just for show and he actually gets to use it
I seriously cannot get over how stupid Shadow coming from a meteor is, the entire POINT of his character is that he was created. He was born to be the ultimate lifeform, to be a cure for Maria, to bring hope to humanity. Him just randomly showing up instead of specifically being created undermines his entire identity. Also, Gerald creating Shadow is incredibly important to his identity as well. It's almost impressive that they managed to fuck up so much with a single decision
The dialogue has already made me cringe a few times but that was definitely the worst instance so far. I wish they would stop
YIPPEE OFFICER DOWN!!!
Walters having a photo of Team Sonic in his jacket that was taken like 5 minutes beforehand so Rockwell can pick it up to illustrate that she thinks Team Sonic killed him is kind of strange and unnecessary
I thought that the show Eggman was watching was another gambling ad for a second
Eggman said boobs. Sure why not
I forgot that they're allowed to swear a bit
I thought they were going to reference Among Us when Stone said imposter. I wish they did, it would've been an actually acceptable pop culture reference
I'm kind of torn on the flashback montage with Maria. It feels a little too silly and lighthearted, but it is cute to see her and Shadow do a bunch of childish stuff together
However, her not being terminally ill and also not spending her entire life in space is dumb. Those are both very important to who she is, and consequently, who Shadow is (he was initially made to be a cure for her, and her love for the planet that she never got to see is what motivates him). I know both of these are consequences of them making Shadow come from a meteor, but there was literally no reason for them to do that, especially considering it messed up him, Gerald, AND Maria. Why would they make that choice when it doesn't add anything and has such a high cost
The Biolizard puppet is cute, though. They should've actually included it (along with Rouge, Amy, and all the other things they omitted), but I guess it's better than nothing
Oh god Gerald is here. I was thinking "So far this isn't as hard to watch as I thought it would be" but it's probably going to get significantly more painful soon
That was a Family Guy cutaway gag
How is a bunch of loose popcorn still in pristine condition after 50 years of sitting out in the open
That was a bad fourth wall joke. Also get on it, this has been going on for like 2-3 minutes
So if we're meant to believe that Shadow's quill is what kept Gerald alive, can Shadow basically just grant people immortality at will? Or is there really just no explanation for him living longer than any human should be able to
I'm glad that the scene of Eggman and Gerald doing stuff together in VR didn't go on for that long, because it felt like the scene of them meeting felt so dragged out
For a split second I thought the music was using the leitmotif of Dreams Of An Absolution, but then I realized that its Green Hill
The puppet only has like 15 seconds of screentime but it's still SO unnecessary
Shadow saying "revenge guac" is stupid but it did not make me cringe like some of the other lines have so far
Tom using the hologram tech to disguise as Randall... Not my place to speak so I'm not going to say anything, but I don't think that was a good idea
Pointless extended bit of Jim Carrey doing comedy with himself number 3. And I know there's at least one more after this. Why did they have to focus on him so heavily
YESSSSSS thank you Shadow, we all wanted to see that happen. Keep up the good work
I hate that Wade got to appear at all, but at least his screentime is brief
It sucks that we just get Gerald saying "It's not about what Maria wanted, it's about what they deserve" to convince Shadow to get revenge, because that's the opposite of how he motivated Shadow in SA2, he made it seem like revenge is what Maria wanted
When I first saw the commander trying to wrestle away the gum through a leak, I laughed my ass off. It's so stupid. Also I knew they would be cowards and not actually show her getting shot, but it's still annoying
Maria not actually getting to say her last words to Shadow, on top of him not being made by Gerald, really is a one-two punch of completely destroying his SA2 characterization (and his characterization in general). It's insulting to Maria too, how do you manage to take away agency from a character who's entire narrative purpose is to die for the sake of another character's backstory
Also, now that the plot has moved into space, I can say with even more certainty that there truly was no reason for them to use Tokyo and London instead of San Francisco. The only thing gained from using Tokyo is the Chao cafe, and the only thing gained from using London is about a minute or two of basic pop culture references. I'm pretty sure they only picked them because they're two of the most famous cities in the world, which is dumb
I hate that Shadow's arc is about letting go of anger and not seeking revenge, that's completely different from what his story is in SA2, they're barely comparable even on a surface level. His actual arc is about being unsure of who he is and why he exists, being used as a tool for revenge by Gerald, and eventually breaking free of that programming to discover that he was created to bring hope to humanity
The Eggman vs Gerald stuff is the stupidest shit ever, and it's made even worse by the fact that it keeps interrupting the Sonic and Shadow scenes
I hate to say that when I first saw Gerald's death through a leak, I (involuntary) burst out laughing. It's supremely stupid and I do not like it, but it's just so absurd that it's hard not to react in some way
The moon thing kinda makes me mad tbh. This movie loves to make references to iconic things from SA2 instead of actually adapting them
The finale is pretty cool visually, but conceptually, it's a really big downgrade from the original. It's comprised of a super form battle between Sonic and Shadow, a cartoon slapfight between Eggman and Gerald, Sonic and Shadow easily blasting through a bunch of GUN Hunters, them blocking the laser while it gets steered away with an actual steering wheel, and then Shadow physically pushing the ARK away by himself. SA2 featured everyone except Shadow working together to reach the deepest part of the ARK as it hurtled towards the Earth, Shadow rushing in to fight the Biolizard while Sonic and Knuckles neutralize the core's energy, and then Sonic and Shadow being forced to go super after the Biolizard fuses itself to the colony in order to continue Gerald's plan, ending with them both using Chaos Control together to put it back in place
I was going to write a summary after I finished watching, but honestly, Eggman took the words right out of my mouth when he said "It's been a real drag. Thanks for nothing" and then died in an explosion

Love Me, Love My Voice (ĺžćłĺžćłä˝ ) Review
I went into this drama not knowing anything about it. I didnât know the actors nor the plot. However, after watching this drama filled with honey dripping sweetness, I was so glad I gave it a watch.Â
My Rating: 9/10
Episodes: 33
Country: China
Genre: Pure Romance with good Music and too many scenes with food
Aired: Nov 30th, 2023 - Dec 16th, 2023
Cast:
Tan Jian Ci plays Mo Qing Cheng/ Qiang Qing Ci
Zhou Ye plays Gu Sheng/ Sheng Sheng Man
Hou Wen Yuan plays Zhou Zheng/ Jue Mei Sha Yi
Yang Xi Zi plays Geng Xiao Xing
Vincent Cao plays Feng Ya Song
Chen Hao Lan plays Dou Bing/ Mo Mo Er
Synopsis:Â
Sheng Sheng (played by Zhou Ye) seems like a typical university student, however she has another identity online as âSheng Sheng Manâ where she makes music in the folk pop genre. One day, in a voice chat room while Sheng Sheng was talking to her friend, her idol, Qiang Qing Ci who is a voice actor (played by Tan Jian Ci) enters the voice chat and speaks to her. Thus, Sheng Shengâs world into professional music and love begins.Â
This drama was adapted from the novel âReally, Really Miss Youâ (ĺžćłĺžćłä˝ ) by Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨ĺŽéĺŽ).Â
Beware of Spoilers Moving Forward!
What Episode did the Main Couple Start Dating?
Sheng Sheng and Mo Qing Cheng start dating as early as episode 8. She is reluctant to accept since they have only been together a handful of times, however, Mo Qing Cheng persuades her to start a relationship with him.Â
Misunderstandings?
There are literally no misunderstandings, no break ups, no petty problems between the main couple as they talk about their feelings pretty straightforwardly. This show was genuinely a breath of fresh air between two green flagged characters.Â
Love Triangles?
None. Nada. There was no second male lead or female lead there to squash the other personâs feelings. Purely feel good.Â
Love Me, Love My Voice Ending
Love Me, Love My Voice has a cute typical happy ending, where they skip 2 years into the future and basically wrap up the story where they show that Sheng Sheng has finished her postgraduate studies and is beginning to work professionally as a composer. She is also preparing to get married to Mo Qing Cheng as he has already bought them a house. They go on a little vacation to their first retreat spot, and take wedding pictures and essentially reminisce about their time together.Â
We also find out that Zhou Zheng and Geng Xiao Xing are also officially together. We also get a cute ending for Feng Ya Song and Dou Bing, where he finally takes the courage to try to confess to Dou Bing and she essentially accepts by telling him to stop talking, and takes his hand.Â
Love Me, Love My Voice Review- Cute, Fluffy, Wholesome Romance
I give this show a wonderful 9/10. This show literally was the fluffiest, cutest, most wholesome romance for a girly who loves romance. It fulfilled every checkmark. The main characters have the healthiest relationship, the premise of voice acting and folk pop music was new and super fun to watch and listen to. Iâve never listened to any folk pop music before this show, but I was genuinely loving every song in this show (P.S. i have all the songs from this show added to a playlist on Spotify luls). They were massive foodies, which didnât help me as I was watching the show. It made me always crave food when they described recipes or he was whipping up a dish.Â
My review of this show lost a point only because I felt the characterâs romance stayed very stagnant close to the end and not much was changing. Also, with the random time skip I felt like the ending was rushed. It felt like it was supposed to have a 40 episode run, but the show was cut short.Â
This show, all in all, was just pure fluff with a new fun premise of voice acting and folk pop music, with a lot of food added in to create a unique wholesome romance.Â
In my opinion, it's a must-watch if you love romance shows with little to no misunderstandings, no love triangles and pure fluff romance <3.Â

Getting Featured on JioSaavn Playlists
In todayâs digital age, platforms like JioSaavn have revolutionized how artists reach their audience. JioSaavn, one of Indiaâs most popular music streaming services, offers an excellent opportunity for musicians to showcase their talent to millions of listeners. For any artist, claiming an artist profile on JioSaavn is a critical step in establishing an online presence and managing their musical career. It gives artists the control and tools they need to curate their brand, track their progress, and build meaningful connections with their audience.
In this article, we will explore the importance of claiming your artist profile, the benefits of managing your profile, and a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to claim your artist profile on JioSaavn.
Why Claiming Your Artist Profile is Important
Claiming your artist profile on JioSaavn is more than just gaining access to a dashboard. It is an essential step in controlling your online musical identity. Here are a few reasons why claiming your profile is crucial:
Professional Representation: Having control over your artist profile ensures that the information about you is accurate, up-to-date, and reflects your professional brand. It allows you to customize your bio, add photos, and manage your releases in a way that enhances your image.
Audience Engagement: When you have an official artist profile, you can directly interact with your fans, create engagement campaigns, and build a loyal audience. The more you engage, the higher your visibility within the platform, potentially increasing streams and fan interactions.
Data & Insights: One of the biggest advantages of managing your artist profile is access to valuable data insights. You can track your streams, understand your listener demographics, and analyze which songs are performing best. This data helps shape future releases, marketing strategies, and promotional efforts.
Credibility: An official artist profile signals professionalism and credibility. Music platforms prioritize verified artists, which can lead to opportunities for better exposure, including placement on editorial playlists and featured sections on the platform.
Step-by-Step Guide to Claiming Your Artist Profile on JioSaavn
Now that we understand the importance of claiming your artist profile, letâs dive into the process. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate this process easily.
Step 1: Sign Up on JioSaavn
The first step is to ensure that your music is available on JioSaavn. If youâve distributed your music through a music aggregator like Deliver My Tune, your tracks will already be on the platform. If not, youâll need to distribute your songs through a distribution service to ensure your music is available on JioSaavn.
Once your music is on JioSaavn, visit the official JioSaavn website or app and create a listener account if you donât already have one.
Step 2: Access JioSaavnâs Artist Verification Portal
Once you have a basic account, youâll need to navigate to the JioSaavn Artist Portal. This portal is specifically designed for musicians looking to claim their profiles and manage their careers on the platform.
You can access the portal via the JioSaavn website or search for âJioSaavn for Artistsâ directly on your search engine.
Step 3: Provide Required Information
When claiming your artist profile, JioSaavn will ask for certain details to verify your identity and ensure that you are the rightful owner of the artist profile. Youâll need to provide:
Your full name and email address.
Links to your social media profiles (such as Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook) to help verify your identity.
The name of your artist profile as it appears on JioSaavn.
Details about your distribution platform (if required).
Make sure that the information you provide is accurate and consistent with the artist profile you are trying to claim.
Step 4: Submit Verification Request
Once youâve filled out the required information, youâll need to submit the request for verification. JioSaavn will take some time to review the details youâve provided, cross-checking them with their records to ensure the legitimacy of the claim.
The verification process can take a few days to a few weeks, depending on the volume of requests and the accuracy of the information provided.
Step 5: Confirmation and Profile Management
Once your request has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email from JioSaavn. You will now have access to manage your artist profile. From here, you can:
Edit your biography to make it more personalized and engaging.
Add or update your profile picture and other promotional photos.
Track data insights to understand listener behavior, song performance, and streaming trends.
Additionally, you can use the JioSaavn artist dashboard to schedule releases, pitch songs for playlists, and optimize your profile for better discoverability.
Best Practices for Maintaining Your Artist Profile
After claiming your artist profile, maintaining it regularly is essential for continued success on JioSaavn. Here are some best practices:
Keep Your Bio Updated: Regularly update your artist bio with new information, such as upcoming projects, awards, or collaborations. A fresh bio shows that you are active and engaged in your career.
Engage with Your Audience: Use your profile to engage with your fans. You can announce new music, tour dates, or exclusive behind-the-scenes content, building deeper connections with your audience.
Optimize for Search: Use relevant keywords in your bio and track titles to optimize your profile for searchability on JioSaavn. This can help new listeners discover your music more easily.
Leverage Analytics: Regularly review your streaming data and insights. Understanding what works and what doesnât can help you refine your future releases and promotional strategies.
Conclusion
Claiming your artist profile on JioSaavn is a critical step for any musician looking to take control of their digital presence and enhance their career. By managing your profile, engaging with your audience, and using data insights, you can ensure that your music reaches the right listeners, increases your visibility, and grows your fan base. Take the first step today by claiming your profile and unlocking the full potential of JioSaavnâs powerful platform for artists.

Hiiiii bff Iâm here to make you busy for an hour. Do all of the identity asks bc I want to know the answers đ
1. If someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?
I'll make this a short one to start things off!
To Read: Iguana Girl by Moto Hagio
To Watch: Chucky/The Child's Play Franchise (esp Bride and Seed)
To Listen: (This time I'll be giving out two songs for this since it'll represent two sides of me as a person) The Clown by Beecake and NRG by PonySauce
2. Have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?
One person that comes to mind for me would be none other than Opal Whiteley!
She was a naturist and a writer who became famous for her childhood diary that she started at the age of five called The Diary of Opal Whiteley or The Story of Opal: The Journey of an Understanding Heart, which tells her account of befriending and hanging out with fairies and talking animals in the forests where she grew up nearby Cottage Grove, Oregon
I just find her to be an extremely fascinating person who I highly relate to due to her views of the world and mythical creatures and talking animals (plus I have a feeling that she was autistic so yeah)!
3. List your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with
For this ask, I'll shorten this to five of my fandoms since I'm in so many of them!
Chucky/Child's Play - Glen Ray
Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Master Shake
Danganronpa - Teruteru Hanamura
The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers/The Freak Brothers - Freewheelin' Franklin
Welcome Home - Barneby B Beagle
4. Do you like your name? Is there another name you think would fit you better?
I do like my IRL name since it's both unique and pretty (plus it's a biblical name that means "weary-eyed" so there's that too)!
The thing is, I'm basically namefluid so I LOVE being called nicknames and other names that aren't my real name (for example being called Fozz and Hobbes makes me super giddy since I love being called multiple names
(also my IRL name is Leah, but ONLY CLOSE FRIENDS/MUTUALS/MY GF ARE ALLOWED TO CALL ME BY THAT)!!
5. Do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? Do you identify yourself by the things you do?
OH, I DEFINITELY SEE MYSELF AS A HUMAN DOING MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!!!!!
I never heard of this saying before, but now it makes so much sense to me, it feels like two dots connected for me and I love it!
But yeah, I have a VERY hard seeing myself as even human, let alone a human being lol!
6. Are you religious/spiritual?
As stated in previous asks/posts, I am very spiritual, just in my own way where I just mish-mash a bunch of things about life and how it came to be into one belief system of my own making!
These beliefs include believing in the multiverse, believing in past lives/being otherkin + fictionkin, believing that certain kinds of mythical creatures like fairies and magic, and believing that Jesus was actually a wizard that knew and was capable of magic due to being a demigod of sorts!
7. Do you care about your ethnicity?
Other than my heritage in German, Irish, British, and 1/16th Native American (Shawnee), there's not really much about my ethnicity that I truly care about due to how white me and my family are!
8. What musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?
For this question, I'll give out a top three list since, again, there are so many musical artists that I've connected with over my lifetime!
Daft Punk
Sublime
ICP (Insane Clown Posse)
9. Are you an artist?
That would be a big fat YES!!!!
10. Do you have a creed?
I have a feeling that I do, it's just not the definition that was created from Christianity!
11. Describe your ideal day
At this point in my life, it would be spending my entire day with my girlfriend since we're currently long distance/online so I've been waiting for the day that we'll be able to do all the cutesy couple things I've been LONGING to do!
12. Dog person or cat person?
Most definitely a dog person! I just love dogs and the way they show their affection, plus I just wouldn't want to have a litter box in my house, or to deal with cat shit n piss in general (ew sorry)!
13. Inside or outdoors?
Though I love going out to do things (like eating out, going out to malls, going to dispensaries, etc), I mainly just love to hang out at home and binge-watch TV and other indoor activities with my friends if we're all broke or there's nothing better to do! (sorry to those who like walks and hiking with no destination like a store or food, but its just not something I'm into unless someone else is walking/hiking with me)
14. Are you a musician?
I may not make money off of any of my singing/music I make but I do consider myself a musician of sorts!
15. Five most influential books over your lifetime
Any and All the Calvin and Hobbes books
Goodnight Punpun by Inio Asano
Most Books written by Beatrix Potter
The Eye Book by Dr. Suess and Theo. LeSieg
How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell
16. If youâd grown up in a different environment, do you think youâd have turned out the same?
I have a feeling that since I have autism, I feel the only way I would've turned out differently was if my family had more money/had connections in money. Another would be if we had more family around us that wasn't dead or dead to us
That way, I feel I would have more opportunities and connections to make myself money/get myself a job and a one way ticket tf out of where I live currently cuz I hate it!
17. Would you say your tumblr is a fair representation of the âreal youâ?
Personally, I feel myself online/on social media is a much more genuine and authentic version of myself than my IRL self since I'm in an environment where I have to "tone down" myself so I come off more "quiet and introverted" than I personally would like to present myself as
Plus autism and other shit makes me super anxious IRL, thus not being able to be as open and easy going as I want to be IRL (plus other people and their anxieties and pressure they put on me doesn't help either)!
18. Whatâs your patronus?
Since I'm not a Harry Potter (and never will be), I will not be answering this question!
19. Which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle?
Please refer to the previous question above for your answer!
20. Would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else?
I would LOVE to live in the world of MLP:FIM!!
I just feel that it's pretty much the world in its most ideal state and the only problems are god-like beings, monsters, magic, and racism against other species (which got stomped out straight away like it should) which is all very easy to take care of, so why wouldn't I wanna live there?
21. Do you love easily?
I would say I do to varying degrees depending on how close I am to a particular person!
Like, it's not easy for me to find someone to fall in love with but when I do, I do fall HARD and super easily so there is that!
22. List the top five things you spend the most time doing, in order
Alright it's gonna be hard since I don't do much on a daily basis but I'll try!
Sitting in my bedroom, on my bed, browsing around on my phone and doing nothing
Smoke Weed
Wandering around my house, doing various chores like taking out garbage and washing dishes
Napping/Sleeping
Drawing/Working on Artistic Projects
23. How often would you want to see your family every year?
I mean, since I live with my dad and brother I see them every day (and it gets tiring ngl lol)!
When I am able to move out and live on my own, I would visit them a couple times every four months or so
But once I have a family/kids of my own, I would visit a lot less due to that, but will still try to see them anytime possible that's not just birthdays or holidays!
24. Have you ever felt like you had a âmind-meldâ with someone?
Oh I've had a few mind-melds with people online, my best friend here (aka you lol!) and in IRL, and my girlfriend but I feel that's only a few people in my life since its pretty rare for me to connect with people right away in the first place!
25. Could you live as a hermit?
I would only be able to live like a hermit for half of the time, but I still LOVE going on trips and going out to do fun stuff (I am an ambivert after all!) so being a full time hermit is out of the question of me!
26. How would you describe your gender/sexuality?
Man,,,,,, I can explain them in the most stupidest and simplest of terms so here we go!
My Gender: I'm everything and nothing under the sun, you can basically call me whatever you feel fits me, even if it's Burnt Toast!
My Sexuality: Mmmmmm Hot people,,,,,, but most rlly Hot people who are good people and aren't douchebags! Plus hot people who love to cuddle!
27. Do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the âreal youâ?
It. Does. Not!
Mostly because I feel like being human in a human body constantly with being able to shape shift into something else to change things up to not get bored of myself
But half because I feel my IRL appearance is too "plain jane-y" for even my taste (like, I literally look so boring, even the outfits and wardrobe I have barely helps)!
28. On a scale from 1 to 10, how hard is it for someone to get under your skin?
Honestly, it varies highly on what's being said to me and who's it's being said by!
For strangers, it can vary from 3-5 depending on how horrible what they said was
For people I know, friends and family, it's a definite 5-7 since I feel they know how to get under my skin and get away with it by making me out to be the bad guy who's ""overreacting""!
29. Three songs that you connect with right now
Seafood Sushi BBQ - Geordie Kieffer
The Blasta - Insane Clown Posse
The Pot - TOOL
30. Pick one of your favorite quotes
"The Touching of Hands"!
- Chucky (Scene Commentary from the Child's Play Anniversary DVD)
I just find it a very funny and underrated Chucky quote that has contributed to my vocabulary and the way I talk today so hooray!
-----------------------------------------------------
Thank you soso very much for sending in this ask Beetle my awesome bestie, I had such an awesome time with this post even though it took forever to type all this down XD!
I hope to see you drop by again and have a fantastic night my friend!!

Novel Spark
It's the beginning of a new year, but it's also the beginning of a new month. In which I read a number of books. Guess what? I'm going to tell you about them.
Possible spoilers for Jack L. Chalker's Dancing Gods novels, and Glenda Larke's Stormlord series.
John Scalzi: Agent To The Stars, completed December 2
John Scalzi seems like a nice guy online (though we've seen that one before), but I've been back and forth on his books. I've read the first two Old Man's War books and was kind of meh on the second one so I'm setting that series aside for now. Redshirts was great, though, and I read The Kaiju Preservation Society from the library and liked it too. I've been interested in Starter Villain, and when my wife picked it up I was going to put it on my shelf (well, virtual shelf since it was an ebook) when I remembered that I had put Agent To The Stars on after The Ghost Brigades. I'd read his story about how he came to write this book in the first place, etc., and I was willing to give it a try. And after a somewhat grim fantasy like The Briar King, some kind of lighter SF work might be nice. So here I am, giving it a try.
The basic premise is that aliens come to Earth and want to make contact with humans, but they're kind of amorphous gelatinous things (I'm picturing Yaphit from The Orville or Bob from "Monsters Vs. Aliens" here, mostly) and they've consumed enough of our media to know that humans are not going to react well to them. So their first contact is with an L.A. talent agency, where the job is passed off to our first-person protagonist, Tom Stein, who is introduced to specially-created envoy Joshua.
What follows is not actually madcap, but mostly light-hearted, as Tom has to deal with his star client, rising blonde star Michelle Beck who is fighting for a serious role in a Holocaust movie, reporters trying to figure why he's suddenly behaving so oddly, and his neighbours' decrepit dog, while he tries to figure out how to introduce these aliens to humanity. We also get some examination of that nature of life, consciousness, and identity, though not too deep.
All in all, I liked it better than The Ghost Brigades. After some internal debate about whether I should still go on to Starter Villain next (as opposed to The Collapsing Empire or Lock In), I decided to stick with it for now.
Jack L. Chalker: Songs of The Dancing Gods, completed December 6
Continuing with the Dancing Gods reread; this one is from six years after the original trilogy. It includes an introduction which recaps the original trilogy, but also provides some insight into why he wrote it in the first place. Apparently he had the hankering to write some epic fantasy, so he read some recent books (in what would presumably have been the late 70s) and was struck by how everything was either Tolkien or Conan. Which led him to thinking of an actual fantasy world that could exist that everyone was drawing from, where the rules were set down so the stories were all the same.
Now I was trying to think of what he might have been reading to lead him to these conclusions. So what can I find for 1970s fantasy? Katherine Kurtz's original Deryni series. They don't seem particularly generic to me, neither Tolkienesque or Conanesque. Pern is often mentioned, but it was really science fiction on many levels, as was (spit) Darkover, or C.J. Cherryh's Morgaine books. Lin Carter was literally writing Conan, as well as homages to the genre, so maybe he counts. Shannara didn't get going until 1977, but it did instigate a flood of Tolkienesques, which theoretically could include the Thomas Covenant series, though those were a lot less generic. And most of the other ones I think of (like Dennis McKiernan and Tom Deitz) came out later. So, in sum, I don't know what the hell Chalker was reading. But whatever.
Anyway, the book once again starts slowly, mostly focusing on the one character who got body-swapped last book into a slave body, and the Rules are imposing slave behaviour and thinking. In many ways she's the central character of the book as a result. They wander around for a bit near the beginning, then go on a mission up north to infiltrate enemy territory. (One character has gotten obsessed with "Gilligan's Island" since their sojourn on Earth in the last book. I think it's fair to say that Chalker was not a fan.) One interesting bit of worldbuilding is the ice field they have to cross which is actually an ancient frozen battlefield, with powerful magics that leak out if any of the ice ever melts. So they have to cross it without melting anything. Nice obstacle. (An ice obstacle, heh.) Once again manages to pull it together well enough for the end, but it still doesn't really transcend. One more book to go and then I imagine I will be weeding the entire series from my shelves.
Sarah Kuhn: Heroine Complex, completed December 11
Time for another female diversity book. I have a number of choices among authors that I've read before--Michelle West/Sagara, Premee Mohamed, N.K. Jemisin, S.G. Wong, and Fonda Lee, among others--I felt like it was time to try a new one. I was going back and forth between Tasha Suri and Sherry Thomas, when my wife reminded me of this one, which seemed like it had more of a fun vibe, so I decided to go for it.
Kuhn is half-Japanese, like her main character, Evie Tanaka. Evie is the lifelong friend and put-upon personal assistant of Aveda Jupiter, a.k.a. Annie Chang. After a demonic incursion event in San Francisco, Annie got low-level superpowers, but took the opportunity to rebrand herself as an ass-kicking superheroine/social media star. Evie also got some powers, but given that they're flame powers that tend to get out of control when her emotions get strong, she wishes they'd go away, and has been suppressing them and regimenting her existence ever since, not to mention looking after her little sister after their mother died and their father wandered off. But circumstances force her to stand in for Aveda temporarily, and it throws her carefully balanced life out of whack.
It's a pretty fun read, with characters who are not always rational, but you can understand why they aren't. Drops a lot of clues, some of which I picked up, about future plot twists. Oh, and there's a decent romance subplot too. I enjoyed it and will likely continue in the series; my wife has given me to understand that future books are from different POVs, the next one being Aveda and the one after that Evie's sister Bea.
Glenda Larke: The Last Stormlord, completed December 18
I was expecting to deliberate more on what to read after the Sarah Kuhn. I often file superhero books under "urban fantasy", given their modern settings and the fact that magic is often part of the milieu, and in the Sarah Kuhn book they explicitly have demons, as well as having a romance plot which is very similar to many I've seen in urban fantasy books. So that would tend to preclude reading an urban fantasy book next, leaving "epic fantasy", "science fiction", and, um, all the other genres, which are generally not as well represented.
But apparently as soon as I thought of the Glenda Larke book, my brain was like, "Sure, that'll be fine." I mean, it is an epic fantasy, and it's also the final book in a trilogy, so I can close off another series, which is usually a good thing. Unfortunately, in this case, it's been a while since I read the last one. I think it's possible that after I read Stormlord's Exile I forgot to put this book on my shelves, physical and virtual, so it wasn't on my radar for a while. But also there are certain unmistakeable similarities with the Karen Miller series I was reading. It's possible that those similarities are due to them both being Australian writers, which would explain them both writing series where, firstly, all the civilization is near the south coast and there's a bunch of desert to the north, and second, where the magic is mostly concerned with trying to control weather and bring water to dry lands. It's also kinda long, almost 700 pages, which may put me behind on my Goodreads challenge again (even reduced as it is), but I've decided not to care about that anymore, right? Anyway, it's taken me a while to get back to it, and my memory of what happened previously is spotty. I guess I'll get to see how good Larke's recap game is.
Immediately I am thrown off by the that we start with "Lord Jasper Bloodstone", the only extant Stormlord, who's secretly working with a "waterpainter" named Terelle to help shore up his inadequate weather magicâŚand before the chapter's over I realize that Terelle is calling him Shale, and I don't remember why he has two different names⌠But Shale is the main character I remember from the other two books, and I vaguely remember waterpainting, and the desert-dwelling tribesmen they mention, who travel using "pedes", or myriapedes, giant many-legged arthropods, to traverse the dunes.
A large chunk of the action in this book seems to take place in the land of Khromatis, which turns out to be a non-arid land across the desert which turns out to have even more people with water magic. This results in the action being a little fragmented, because just when we have established some of the conflicts going on back in the desert regions (the Quartern) we have a lengthy section set in Khromatis. It feels like a weird choice for the last book in the series to be introducing this new land and new characters. (Though I guess Karen Miller did something similar in her last "Fisherman's Children" book, and it refreshed the plot mightily.)
It all more or less comes together in the end, with bonus next-generation characters for potential sequels. Gets some bonus points for having actual trans (transitioned using magic, no less) and gay characters. Still, I don't know if I will be hunting down more Glenda Larke right away or anything.
Cory Doctorow: Walkaway, completed December 24
I've been reading Cory Doctorow from at least the time his first novel came out--at least his novels, if not his short stories or blog posts back then. I read Makers by installments on Tor.com, which was a weird experience. I met him once in Toronto when he and my wife were both nominated for "Forest of Reading" awards. And these days I'm mostly reading his essays on Pluralistic and feeling pretty left-wing as a result. But I'm a bit behind on the novels. The last one I read was Pirate Cinema, which was decent, and I decided to go onto this one next. Now I'm kinda interested in his Martin Hench novels, so clearly I gotta read this one to get it out of the way. (Like my motivation for reading the Scalzi one a few weeks earlier.)
I initially thought that, as less than 400 pages, I might read it in four days. Instead I ended up taking sixâŚpartly because it was Christmas season and we were busy, but also because it was just a dense book, possibly small font size and more words per page, I didn't actually check. But also I didn't find it a particularly compelling read.
It's probably unsurprising to find it similar to a number of earlier Doctorow books, like Makers, Little Brother, and Pirate Cinema. I was a little surprised to find myself reminded of Octavia Butler's Parable of The Sower at times. It's done with multiple third-person POV, which I found kind of distancing, unlike the immediacy of some of Doctorow's other books.
It's set about fifty years in the future, where "zottas", the ultra-rich, are dominating "default" society, so your only options are to be a wage slave forever, or to walk away. The technology, replete with "printers" that can produce such things as entire buildings and complicated pharmaceuticals, makes it fairly easy to survive and thrive outside of "default". So at first it seems like it's mostly going to be comparing strategies for walkaway survival. But the zottas and their mercenaries aren't particularly happy with the success of walkaways, particularly when Walkaway U. develops some groundbreaking technology in brain-scanning-and-uploading.
In the end I was kind of meh on the whole thing, which, perhaps inevitably, ended up revolving around the one walkaway who was a zotta's daughter, and quite frankly that plotline was the most interesting. I didn't really care about the handwavy technology which made it all possible.
Also is the second book in a row with a trans, or possibly intersex, character, who seemed to me to be handled well.
From here I guess I have to decide whether I want to try Martin Hench books like Red Team Blues, or The Lost Cause; I'm leaning more towards the latter, now that I've finished the "Science In The Capital" trilogy, but I guess we'll see.
Jack L. Chalker: Horrors of The Dancing Gods, completed December 29
Bringing the reread of the Dancing Gods series to an end, and at this point I'm wishing I could send a message to my past self and say, "Don't bother, toss them out with the Changewinds books." This one came out in 1995 and as far as I can tell did not need to be. According to the author notes it was inspired by a "horror boom" the happened around that time, which I am not familiar with, but then I was never into horror all that much. I have come to like Stephen King, who is a genre unto himself, and I rarely bother to look past that.
It seems like this time he is leaning harder into actual parody, though I'm only guessing because I keep seeing things that look like references that I don't get, though I was mildly amused by their voyage on the H.P. Hovecraft (to the continent of Yuggoth). We've disposed of the "were" curse, which was the most interesting thing about the earlier books, and Joe only gets POV near the beginning of the book, and then we're with Marge and Joe's son Irving.
There's a lot of talking about good vs. evil whose main conclusion seems to be "they're not all that different", and it's possible that once I used to think that way, but now it doesn't have a lot of appeal for me. Far too much dialogue consist of one character saying something provocative, another one saying "Huh?", and the the first character explaining their profound insights. It gets kind of wearing.
This book also had a trans/intersex character, but given that this is Jack Chalker, they were handled with as much shock and drama as possible. ("Oh no, I've fallen in love with this girl, but she's got male genitalia! This may be an insuperable obstacle to our relationship!") Weird to have a three-book streak, though.
It'll probably be a while before I read any more Chalker. I remember last time I reread the Well World books that I noticed a definite decline in quality, so I'm almost afraid to revisit them again; probably the Flux & Anchor books won't hold up either. Four Lords of the Diamond might, or maybe The Wonderland Gambit. But not for a while.
As for nonfiction, I made a little more progress in Sugar, but not much. We've moved from talking about African slaves to South Asian indentured servants, which is actually not much of an improvement. Those plantation folk certainly did suck, though not enough for MAGA Republicans to throw them out or anything. Mostly I'm trying to work through another month of comics on Marvel Unlimited.
And that's it for December, and for 2024! Because I'm not finishing another book in the year, despite getting a good head start in the doctor's waiting room. I will also be doing a separate year-end post, so stay tuned for that.

Itâs been a while since I talked about this but since a few people wanted a masterpost on what one of my other AUs was all about, I want to finally introduce it and basically summarize what itâs about.
With that said...
Welcome to 48 Years, a sitcom-esque Marcanne AU where I take the concept of slow burn and basically fling more gasoline at it until itâs practically self-perpetuating.
UPDATES (1/15/2022): Slowly getting back into writing after a nice break, new links updated.
Co-created with @bloop-artsâ, who decided to enable my insanity and never looked back.
TV Guide Summary ⌿ 30 MINS ⌿ Comedy/Drama/Romance ⌿ TV-14 ⌿ 2021
Anne Boonchuy has lived quite a life for herself. Sheâs traveled many places, settled down with someone, had a kid, and got the dream ending every sitcom yearns for. However, this all ends when she and her husband decide to break up, both realizing that theyâre gay after twenty years of stable marriage.
Newly divorced and struggling to understand herself, Anne settles down into her long-time friendâs apartment until she can find a permanent home. In her self-discovery, Anne will not only navigate the new-found freedoms of experimentation, but sheâll be confronted with the questions of motherhood, past childhood mistakes, and how to create silver-linings in her separation.
Especially when her best friends and family are along for the ride.
NOTES
⌿ Anne has been in a stable marriage for twenty years with her husband. However, instead of the separation being done out of abuse or miscommunication, it actually comes from a mutually-assured realization that even if the marriage was stable and full of respect/trust, they both wanted the other to explore themselves and their opportunities.
⌿ Her son is named Kamon. They donât talk much for the beginning of 48 Years, mainly writing stuff down or using text-to-speech to communicate. Theyâre also a tiny gentleman who deserves the world.
⌿ Sasha works at her own physical studio where she teaches people kickboxing, Tai Chi, and swordfighting.
⌿ All of them are 48 years old throughout the main focus of the AU, unless the show refutes me regarding their birthdays.
⌿ Marcy works as a software engineer at an independent company. She does freelancing on the side.
⌿ Anne is currently juggling as a restaurant chef and a university student, is not having a good time in managing...well...time.
⌿ Sashaâs home is not that far from Marcyâs apartment. This leads to Sasha being able to walk in, help drop Kamon off at school, and overall being a consistent presence for hanging out.
⌿ Anne gets her own bedroom. They basically replaced Marcyâs prior office space to do this, meaning Anne and Marcy do online work at the dining table, their beds, or on the balcony. This will change at some point.
⌿ As time goes on, the environment and space that Anne once believed was temporary grows less temporary.
⌿ Yes, the moment that Anne starts to realize she can experiment with her identity, in her room she blasted every nostalgic 2000s to 2020s sapphic song she can find just to feel something. This includes dodie, and girl in red. Theyâre music classics now.
⌿ Anneâs identity journey also includes a lot more than blasting dodie, I promise.
⌿ Yes, thereâs also an explanation to why it took so long for her to realize sheâs gay.
⌿ All three girls actively teleport from Earth to Amphibia just to check on families, friends, and also to see the progress on Amphibiaâs new political structure and reconstruction. Yes, that means the toads, newts, and frogs jump on over to Earth whenever they want to.
⌿ Since I stylize this AU as a sitcom format, meaning that I try to interpret the whole thing in a manner to its own standalone narrative from a TV show, that means the details of Anneâs âadventuresâ slowly seep into the picture, much to the audienceâs confusion. Sasha could talk about being a lieutenant all that she wants, but the audience will believe sheâs talking about the US military until the talk of âtoadsâ hits them like a sack of bricks.
⌿ As time goes on, the audience begins to see that Anne, Marcy, and Sasha are post-journey adventurers, and the AU dives into the consequences and ramifications of that important year in their lives.
⌿ This is not only a slow burn but a SLOW BURN WITH OLDER QUEERS, BABY.
⌿ I am still working on a lot of WIPS, but to an introduction of this concept, feel free to read this drabble here.

The standard past life reading is where I do a 5 card spread based off of the custom spread I created personally for past life readings. These readings will consist of: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life, and late life. Additional notes may be added to the reading by me.
Full Reading (10 Cards) - $8.50
The standard past life reading is where I do a 10 card spread based off of the custom spread I created personally for past life readings. These readings will consist of: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life, late life, how you were seen by others, your inner self/personality, your purpose in this life, if you met any of your soulmates, and how this life effects your current one. Additional notes may be added to the reading by me.
Full Reading + 3 Cards - $11.00
This reading is like the full reading, but with the addition of 3 more cards added to the end of the spread. These cards can be picked from a list of specifics that you wish to know more about this past life for more specific info. You may choose which of the three areas of the 10 you wish to add a card (or cards) to for more detail.
Full Reading + 5 Cards - $12.50
This reading is identical to the full reading with the addition of another 5 card spread afterwards. This additional 5 card spread will help us determine in more detail your past life in specific aspects: the time period, the location, your lifestyle (job, family, social class), your biggest fears and your goals/dreams of this life.
Small Reading - $3.00
This is my affordable cheaper option for those with a tighter budget. It is a smaller version of my standard reading featuring the first 5 cards of the standard reading: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life and late life.
Colormancy
My readings using custom colormancy cards made from my color theory test kit. With these colors much like other forms of card readings, I will use them and their alignments to draw answers for your questions or inquiries.
One Card - $1.00
Two Cards - $1.50
Three Cards - $2.50
Five Cards - $4.00
Crystal Throwing
A crystal throwing reading is using a bunch of different crystals and a large grid and tossing randomly selected crystals onto the grid and interpreting that for divination purposes. You may also do single drawn stones from a bag or box for single simple answers.
How the reading will work:
I will receive your question(s) and then using them as a guide will throw the crystals I draw onto my grid. I will interpret the patter, placement and the crystals correspondences to give you a detailed reading. I will also take a picture of the grid and the crystals upon it.
Pricing:
The price for a standard crystal reading will be $7.00 and for every additional throwing or question you would like to add is another $3.00.
I also have an option for if you want a Large Throwing consisting of answering 5 questions and taking the use of many more crystals than a standard throwing it is $11.50.
I also offer single stone drawings for $1.00 a stone.
Energy Readings
My energy readings are not the same as aura readings, I will read your energy via what visions I get, imagery, sounds, smells, tastes and feelings. I type out my readings while I experience them (likely with my eyes closed) and will go back through to correct spelling errors before sending. Sometimes these readings delve into divination other times they donât. I will then take what I see, feel and witness and interpret it more deeply for you and send that.
The price is 6.50 for a basic energy reading. A full detailed or extended one with additional tarot cards, crystals or other added insights can be requested and price discussed.
If you need more details on energy readings feel free to look at my Energy Reading Page

5 Question Bundle = $4.50
10 Question Bundle = $9.00

Deity Communication/Entity Communication
Need some help communicating with a new deity, entity or spirit? I am happy to do my best to assist you with this!
Basic Deity Communication Spread - $12.00
This reading will be done with a spread I have made and used for deity communication to contact and get information from the deity. Additional cards may be added as needed each for $1.
Add Energy Reading - add. $5.00
If needed or desired I can add on an energy reading of you and possibly the deity/entity itself onto the standard basic reading above for an additional fee
Shufflemancy
A simple reading using the playlists I have saved and relating song themes, lyrics and emotions to determine the future or advice.
Price: $4.00 for a standard, $6.50 for two songs/extended reading
Readings are currently what are allowing me to buy groceries, pay off my transit pass and purchase necessities and stay ontop of things while my part-time job is covering rent at this time. I do not know if my job that let me go will open positions and call me in the future, they seemed to let everyone go/position removal as of this past week as an indication they may be shutting down until tourism improves.Â
So if you are interested in readings please feel free to reach out and IM me or send me an ask/submission. I just need email addresses to send the invoices.
Readings usually take between 7 to 14 days and they are done Sundays through Tuesdays as to not interfere with my part-time hours.
Thank you all for helping me with this. If you cannot request a commission, please reblog and signal boost this if you can. Money will be tight, my city is about to fully shut down with little to no support from our local government. I also accept tips through my Ko-Fi page as well.

So it occurred to me while working on my new teen wolf writing project that Stiles's dad is absolutely drowning in medical debt so probably can't afford to give Stiles much of an allowance, if any, and Stiles never mentions or goes to a part-time job, and yet he can afford a completely unexpected $1500 mechanic's bill when Erica breaks his Jeep, and buys an insane amount of stuff for Lydia's birthday, and even though he'd been planning to return most of it, he's sixteen at that point, he definitely doesn't have a credit card and probably doesn't have an overdraught, so he had to have had that money on hand, so I'm trying to figure out where his money comes from.
so far my possibilities are:
- its ad money from his youtube channel where he uploads deliberately shitty and out of focus footage of 'real werewolf sightings'
- it's sponsorship money from his podcast where he just talks completely truthfully about his life and half his audience think it's an ARG and the other half are just there to see if he'll ever actually admit this is all fiction
- he has a twitch channel where he streams exclusively games about werewolves
- all the 2012 sterek fics are correct and he's selling pictures of his neck to horny werewolves online
- turned his life into successful a pen and paper rpg and it's sourcebook money
- secret MLM double life. his facebook account name is karen and he's a double black diamond and he would love to talk to you about what herbalife can do for you
- he got in at the start of bitcoin before we knew it was an elaborate ponzi scheme and managed to actually cash out
- makes 8bit chiptune covers of britney songs on bandcamp
- just an insane amount of paid surveys. so many surveys
- furry porn artist
- mlp porn artist
- he's actually had physical job this entire time but it's doing something embarrasing and he never mentions it because he doesn't want scott to know. it probably involves a mascot costume of some kind
- a boring sensible option like part time web-dev or translation work
- fraud
- just straight up theft

My #1 post of 2022
so someone on the buffy wiki asked a question that i have basically been thinking about non-stop since i saw it
how would btvs be different if spike had died when he was originally planned to, during the church collapse in season 2
and there's a lot of interesting logistical questions (honestly the answer is not much, he very rarely actually contributes to the main plot, probably because most of the writers room hated using him) like how would s7 end (you just create a different arbitrary mcguffin), would the buffybot still exist (probably yes, you just make her a warren or a jonathan thing and remove spike from the equation), what would buffy's s6 unhealthy coping mechanism be (my instinct is to say a buffy/xander subplot, which would be objectively worse but would hit basically all the same narrative beats, and would also make the xander/anya breakup feel a bit less weird)
but that isn't the reason i've been obsessing over this
the reason i've been obsessing over this is that if spike dies in that church, drusilla should logically become a recurring villain, probably hitting a lot of the same broad plot beats as spike did
and now i can't stop thinking about a version of buffy where dru gets actual character developement, where they have to think of cool shit to do with her future-seeing powers (being completely incidental to the plot is a very weird quality for clairvoyent powers to have tbh but they never once make effective use of them in the show)
and i also realised that in a version of season 6 where dru is a main cast member, or at least a recurring guest star, the obvious choice would be for her to mentor willow
willow never gets any kind of magic teacher in any way that matters, and she never gets to talk to another canon-queer person apart from tara, and giving willow a mentor figure who is magic and queer and probably pretty supportive, but also is absolutely 100% trying to make willow worse would be so interesting! and maybe it would force the writers to remember that giles knows magic, and you could have a 'which will willow choose' dynamic going on between this proudly bi proudly magic vampire and the closetted deeply afraid of his own magic human and it could be so interesting! like i fucking love spike and giles's canon relationship, but it never goes anywhere and this would absolutely have to go somewhere
also there would obviously be a subplot, probably in season 4, about dru manipulating events to bring spike back from the dead, but he'd come back as human, and the scoobies would want to protect him from her both because he's human and because spike died before they realised he's not actually a threat so they think vampire spike is a big deal, so he'd be a main cast member and build relationships with them all, and you've got human spike and vampire dru kind of circling one another and flirting but also being freaked out by one another, and however you chose to end the subplot it would be the kind of compelling tragedy that all the best spike stories are. if he choses to become a vampire then you're functionally killing the relationships he would have built with the scoobies by that point, and if he chooses to stay human, you're breaking dru's heart, and basically every other variation i can think of is also tragic, and i love basically all of them
and dru would fucking hate glory, even if you never did the chip subplot in s4 and didn't use human spike to bring her into the group, you could absolutely fold her into the gang in s5 using 'the enemy of my enemy' as the justification
there are so many little problems with buffy that you could fix using dru as a recurring character - the watcher's council functionally only exist when needed, they have no real presence, but they're canonically fascinated with dru and want to experiment on her so they'd have a reason to have a recurring presence in the show that isn't directly related to buffy. vampires have no culture and the one time they were given a religion the writers were too scared to explore it in any depth, but dru is possitioned to interact with the cult of aurelius in a way spike never was, so they might be forced to actually think about the fact that vampires ought to have a unique culture and religious perspective and general outlook on the world. the concept of bisexuality might have to exist. everything with how angel interacts with the gang post s2 would be so much more interesting, and there'd be a reason to bring darla back and give her some character developement. mental health! they'd have to talk about mental health prior to season 6!
i'm not going to write this fic, because it would be so fucking long, but please join me in imagining the au that could have been if buffy comics weren't all terrible, or i had infinite time for writing fic

You Donât Need A Cure For Yourself! â Norwegian Pop-Star Aurora On Songwriting, Self-Doubt, And Community
Interview by Laura Gruebler for TITLE Magazine (August 14th, 2021).
If you havenât heard about Aurora yet, you will surely recognise her song âRunawayâ. Although this single was released back in 2015, it was only this year it gained massive popularity. âRunawayâ has gone viral on Tik Tok and Instagram and is accordingly to Spotify amongst the top 50 TikTok songs of 2021.
However, this young singer/songwriter from Norway is more than just a one hit wonder. Aurora is a promising talent for songwriting and composing. In addition to that, her open mind, and sympathetic character enabled her to establish a loyal and ever growing fan base. In our interview we got to know this musician from a very personal side and she ceratinly gained some new supporters.
How are you today? What does a typical day in your life look like right now?
Iâm fine, thanks for asking. Itâs a bit of both, Iâm a lot in the studio, but I just finished my album that is coming out soon, so Iâm having a tiny holiday, which has been great. But yeah, itâs busy but fun. Iâm very excited about whatâs coming.
(The pandemic has been challenging for everybody differently. How did you experience lockdown? Did it have any impact on your creativity?)
Personally, I have quite enjoyed being forced by the virus to be more inside and to be less social. I do enjoy that kind of lifestyle, I like being home and alone. But of course it is a different experience when you know you donât have any other choice. But Iâve enjoyed the space and the time. Itâs been great for my creativity, Iâve been creating quite a lot. But of course, Iâve been sad on behalf of the world and the people. Itâs been sad and equally healing. Iâve been very lucky, although I couldnât work as much or go on tour.
What inspires you? How do you decide what to write about?
It can come very suddenly, very out of the blue and Iâll know when itâs the perfect line. I also always have long album titles, which just happen to me and from there I get very inspired and know what Iâm going to do. For example, for the album that I just finished now, I knew the title last year in January, and then I started writing for it.
I always write a song with a mission to fit into a new story. Itâs like every song is a new chapter of a book. And the meaning is very important, instinctive, and driven by my heart.
What makes a good song? What is more important: melody and instruments or lyrics and meaning?
Meaning always comes first, and often the melody. Or the title, I often begin with the title actually. I know my record name and the vision before I start writing for it. I like to write conceptually.
Your only Norwegian song âStjernestøvâ which means stardust has been quite successful in your home county. Why did you decide to write and perform mainly in English?
I love to read, itâs my favorite thing in the world. But it breaks my heart that Iâll never get to read many of them in their original language. And I guess Iâd suggest always writing in your mother tongue but itâs so sad that someone else then has to translate. And I feel like itâs the same with my songs. I want as many people as possible to be able to understand my music in the way I write it. English is a more direct and universal language.
What makes a good music video? Your recent song release âCure For Meâ comes with a really fun video. Do you have any impact on the outcome â what is important to you to communicate with your visuals?
I am very inspired by the visual world. And I guess people are more used to understanding visual things and pictures in comparison to sound. We need to work harder to understand just sound. I love to take on the opportunity and create a video for each of my singles and take care of how people perceive my songs. Itâs one of my favorite things to do. Itâs so fun. I love hiding details and clues in my videos. And my fans are so clever â they always figure out what things mean or guess what my next song will be.
You have uploaded a tutorial for the dance moves in âCure For Meâ. Is dancing something you like to express yourself with?
I love dancing. My favorite thing is going to rave parties and dancing until the next morning. Itâs the best thing ever. I think weâre meant to dance and shake our bodies way more than we do. I canât understand people who can resist dancing. It doesnât even have to look good, it should just feel liberating.
At TITLE Magazine we focus on being true to yourself and your True Identity. Have you found your True Identity yet? How would you describe it?
Yes, I think I have found my True Identity. I feel very grounded in myself and I feel very grounded on this Earth. I feel very connected to the ground and my place in this world. So my True Identity is a very grounded and calm one. Luckily, itâs been like that for a little while now.
âCure For Meâ basically has the message to not doubt yourself, and love yourself regardless. No one needs a cure for themselves, no matter what other people say. Have you experienced any negativity towards yourself before? How did you deal with it?
I havenât experienced it much in comparison to others. I was teased in school because I dressed quite strangely and I guess I act differently. I didnât feel very connected to other people. I struggled with finding a sense of belonging in a group at school or within the system. But now, Iâve really found my place. And my fans helped a lot to show that I can be connected to so many people out there in the world, however, not in my neighborhood in the countryside.
I spent a lot of time in nature, which made me gain energy, but I often disappeared again when I entered a room with other people in it. I didnât like people so much when I was younger. And this feeling you are not the same as the people around you goes into this feeling that something is wrong with you instead of accepting the differences.
What advice would give others that are being told they are not good enough or doubt themselves?
The little box that has been put out in front of us is so small and the world is telling us that we have to fit in this box â this pattern of behavior, this way of looking, being, loving, or youâre not going to be accepted. Itâs a very narrow whole we are supposed to fit into and it simply doesnât make sense. Itâs very soul strangling. And if you worry about fitting in, think of how little your perspective is and how little you actually see, and how little you have left to actually experience life and yourself in this world. Â So, it really doesnât matter what the world or our parents or even ourselves think of us. We can be our harshest critics. It can be so difficult to love ourselves but it really shouldnât matter to fit in this useless box.
Since the kickstart of your career and the successful release of your EP âRunning With The Wolvesâ in 2015, you have been doing some great performances and achieved some amazing things. What is your personal highlight of your career so far?
I am very proud of my community. But I am also scared by it. I donât like the idea of worshiping one single person so much. Itâs not natural. But I feel like I have a different relationship with my fans. Itâs based on mutual respect and admiration. They opened my eyes to how beautiful the world is and made me believe in mankind again. Itâs the best gift I could ever get in life.
The highlight of my career is realizing how much we can do, or use our voices to speak up against the wrong, and loudly about love. Itâs so beautiful and powerful. And change can only be done with many people standing together.
How do you percieve community online? How do you feel about virality and hype on Tik Tok and Instagram?
I guess itâs the same online as well. I think of every person as a single human being sitting at home. The people I want to reach the most are the people that are most isolated and lonely. I am a big fan of the online community and I find it magical that weâre all connected. I donât care too much about the numbers of streams etc. It doesnât seem to make anyone, including me, happy. Maybe for like a moment in which Iâm joyfully surprised but then itâs over. Itâs so short living.

Hi, I didn't really know who to reach out for this question, but do you have any tips on how to find your own unique fashion style? I'm not really looking to hop on popular clothing trends on social media e.g. eboy/girl or cottagecore, so I'm not exactly sure where to start! I come to consult you because I've seen some of your posts and you look very well versed in fashion and you seem to know your own personal style. My wardrobe is very outdated and I would like to update it to reflect the truest expression of myself. Thank you đ You don't have to answer this if you don't feel like doing so btw đ
EEEE more fashion asks i love these thank you!!!! warning this got a lil (very) long so its under the cut :^)
so first and foremost the most important part about curating your own style is to learn more about your body and what flatters/doesnt flatter it. it's learning some basic fashion 'rules' pertaining to proportions, cuts, etc. there are plenty of resources on this if you dont know where to start (kibbe body test, video, video) but keep in mind this step has nothing to do with your weight!!!! i could talk wayyy more about this but at the end of the day, some clothing is just more flattering for specific body shapes - that doesnt mean you cant wear something that isnt perfectly flattering, but knowing your body and knowing what flatters it will make you understand your own style and help guide the pieces you buy. fashion 'rules' arent necessarily meant to be followed, but just understood so that 'breaking' them is a conscious choice. (it also really helped with my insecurities???? like this step is basically recognizing that its not your body thats unflattering, its the clothing, if that makes sense???)
also remember that every 'style' works for every body type. i.e if you want to be a 60s vibe but youre too curvy for shift dresses, there are plenty of clothes in a similar style that would look great on you <3 basically, if you dont like the way a piece looks on you, you can still achieve the same vibe with a different article of clothing thats more flattering. but also umm.... you can just wear the unflattering thing if you want LOL if it makes you happy... then it becomes your own controlled decision <3 live love laugh follow your heart
okay. now that you have that out of the way. there are a million ways to develop a sense of style, and no particular order in which i recommend them. what i love doing is creating pinterest boards for the spring/summer or fall/winter seasons and just filling them with pieces i would wear in a perfect world. i dont mean like cottagecore aesthetic boards, just boards full of runway looks and clothing pngs that i like. i also love making little outfits for characters which can influence my own style. everyone thinks of their style differently; i think of my own outfits as little vignettes with narratives behind them, but other people are more concerned with just wearing things they think are pretty, other people view it as an expression of art or their identity, and other people just want to feel comfortable!!! its all up to you and what youre drawn to!!
one thing that tan france mentioned once was to go online window shopping by going onto the website for a brand you like (regardless of whether its affordable or realistic!) and just adding things to your cart that youre interested in. dont worry about how expensive they are or anything, and when youre done, remove all the items you like the least. and then keep reviewing and removing until you have just a handful of really nice items you really like, and keep doing this with other brands until you can identify common threads between the pieces you like. you dont have to buy them!! in fact maybe its better if you dont!!! and the websites dont have to be like zara or h&m ... go on balmain or chanel if you want, play pretend and have fun!!
re: the last bullet point, i think a big turn off for people in terms of fashion is the idea that you need to wear something palatable and 'appropriate.' its like looking at a runway and thinking "its nice, but i would never wear that in real life." but honestly????? in a perfect world i would be wearing full gowns to the supermarket!!!! if your ideal style is imaginative but unattainable, your style in practice will be a microcosm of it. basically... dream big... dont be afraid to 'overdress' if its what you like!! one of the best pieces of advice i ever got was from my aunt, who offered to by me a plastic tiara. i asked her when i was ever going to wear it irl, and she just looked at me and said "??? you can wear it whenever you want to!!" so true!!! wear a tutu to mcdonalds. wear a bedazzled tux to prom. who cares
accessories, nail polish, hair, jewelry, perfume and makeup goes a long way in developing style. i dont wear a ton of makeup, but just putting some color on my cheeks achieves a kind of sunkissed lovestruck vibe that i strive for. i paint my nails red because i think its chic or bright colors so they contrast with a toned down outfit. even wearing no accessories is an accessory in itself. accessorizing (or specifically not accessorizing) is like adding texture to an outfit imo
anything that advises you about 'absolutely necessary essentials everyone needs' is entirely wrong. there is no one size fits all; i.e everyone says you need one good pair of denim jeans, but i havent worn jeans in two years!!! an essential for ME is a pair of neutral wool shorts, but an essential for another person could be a thick knit sweater or for another person, a flannel. the idea that everyone needs a 'little black dress' or a 'basic white t shirt' is preposterous. YOUR essentials depend entirely on YOUR style. a pair of denim jeans is useless if you hate wearing jeans!!!!
as for my personal style, im mostly influenced by movies, books, songs, characters, feelings, colors, high fashion, and costumes. ultimately, you should worry less about what you want to be and worry more about what you already like. every piece i have kind of plays into some narrative ive constructed, or otherwise theyre all special to me :) if you want to update your wardrobe, dont feel the need to over consume fast fashion (or any fashion for that matter) to do so. if you take it slow and buy pieces you really love, every item will have a story and you'll begin to develop a more stable internal style and they'll last longer :)
let me know if you have questions or want me to talk more about any of this because i really love answering these kinds of questions!!!!!! especially the body type thing because thats such an important but long winded thing i couldnt really fit it all LOL

code lyoko: a hidden gem of early 2000s cartoons
pov: the year is 2009, every day you come home from school to watch an unidentified cartoon on channel JoJo; only for it to disappear and never come back to tv ever again.
Hello, it is that time of the week again. I will cut the chase for you so- Basically, this semester greatly tired me and in order to go along until the school year ends, I watch shows that evoke nostalgia to get high on the feeling of temporary happiness and dissociate for a while. I am not even addressing the monstrosity that is the midterm, father-son and the holy spirit help a bro out, please. And well, Code Lyoko is exactly that show.
(from left to right: Yumi, Jeremie, Aelita, Ulrich <3 and Odd) (there is also William in later seasons but I donât claim him)
Originally released in 2003 but, received international release just as it was canceled in 2007, Code Lyoko is a French cartoon that graced everyoneâs televisions at least once before it completely disappeared from it. For my experience, I encountered Code Lyoko on a channel called JoJo while I was waiting for Yugioh GX to start.
At first glance, it honestly looked horrifying with how children had comically big foreheads but, the story and the visuals hooked me right in. First of all, I could look past the giant foreheads because the characters were good-looking for my 8-year-old taste and, the background illustrations are still beautiful regardless. Despite being beautiful, the places didnât change much and we only saw the school, dorms and the forest that was behind it along with the old factory and the word of Lyoko but, the budget for the show was not the biggest so most of the scenes were used and reused again and again throughout the seasons.
Iâm not going to lie the visuals were not as pretty as I make them out to be but, I was 8 years old and it was the first time that I ever saw a cartoon that had both 2d and 3d animation.
Also, I fell in love with Ulrich but Iâll get to that.Â
No, no I wonât
This is also a call-out post to me because apparently, I love everything that came before the internet and being online 24/7. Just like in How I Met Your Mother, as we are watching the world is introduced to the internet and what being online means so if I were to say that the third season is an inquiry on what the internet is and, how it works, I would not be that far off.Â
( Also recently Code Lyoko was added to Netflix so yeah go stream it )
To dive right into the plot: a Japanese, and 3 French(???) middle school students walked into an abandoned factory through a sewage canal and discover a supercomputer that had an artificial world (Lyoko) in it with another artificial intelligence in the name of Aelita trapped in it. By contacting Aelita they alerted an evil system that lived within the Lyoko called X.A.N.A that manipulates and hacks electronic devices through the powers of Lyoko. So as any other logical human being would do they materialized Aelita into the real world and created her a fake identity to make her study with them while they fight against X.A.N.A in both the real world and the artificial one, Lyoko. Then the school principal asks, "Why did you do that?" And the overly intelligent 12-year old that somehow hacked into the national security system and created a fake identity for an artificial intelligence replied, "Well I am a classic nerd that fell in love with an artificial intelligence I had to make her real at some point!".
Yeah... that was not funny.....
Anyways, so this is basically the entire plot of the Code Lyoko brought to you by a walked into a bar joke that did not escalate!
4 friends along with their new materialized friend Aelita try to protect the world against X.A.N.A and whatever it is trying to achieve... Is it ever clear what X.A.N.A desires? Iâm not sure. Iâm currently rewatching the show and Iâm on season 3 but Iâm kind of lost on the plot since I only care about whatâs going to happen between Ulrich and Yumi...
SO, the kids spent most of their time trying to defend their school, friends, or themselves against X.A.N.A and honestly it looks like a tiring job. They miss important days, quizzes, exams... man... I donât think they are even attending school... But worry not! Lyoko has a program called "Return to the Past" and when they are successful in defending the world against X.A.N.A in Lyoko, they get to return to the past and not miss whatever that they dropped to reach the abandoned factory.Â
I vividly remember wishing, praying, crying myself to sleep to have a computer like that when I was a child. I still do actually. It would be great if I were to spend the whole day beating up various machines in a virtual world then set back the time to retake an exam that I already know the questions of. Ah, a university student can only wish...
Code Lyoko was mostly sloppy in animation due to the budget cuts that had to be made in order for the show the survive but, it made up with the heart and soul it carried. The characters are all fleshed out, just like the locations and you can sense how much thought went into each and every detail the show carried. I donât know if it's still available on the internet but I would suggest everyone who read until this point to look into the bible of the show. It is one of the greatest bibles Iâve had the pleasure of reading through.Â
The show aired in Turkey in 2009 on channel JoJo. The entirety of the first season and a few episodes from the second season were aired but it was pulled from airing shortly after to give Yugioh GX more slots since it entered its final season. One of the reasons was probably because JoJo pulled most of its audience from airing Yugioh. I would not blame them since I discovered Code Lyoko while I was waiting for Yugioh as well.Â
After Code Lyoko was pulled off from airing I forgot about it and did not think about it until recently. During our first year, while I was talking Asyaâs ear off about an unrelated cartoon, I randomly remembered the theme song of Code Lyoko, and all came back to me. The sweet nostalgia. I also remember making my friends at the table watch a few episodes of it during our lunchbreak.Â
I am honestly glad that Code Lyoko was not one of the cartoons that got away from me. Aside from the addicting nostalgia, it gives me, it holds such a special place in my heart that I donât think any other show can fill (maybe Yugioh GX can fill it but I will have to debate it with myself for a while).
So please, if you have time give this low-budget french cartoon a chance it will not disappoint you.
(also just a warning ulrich and yumiâs pining is one of the slowest of burns Iâve ever witnessed so be careful while rooting for them)

Universal Liberation Orchestra -Â Communion - if you are into outsider music from the 80s, privately issued in low numbers, CHECK THIS OUT (new reissue from Freedom to Spend)
Communion, privately released in an impossibly small edition of twenty five cassettes in 1986, is a beguiling, politically underpinned meditation of cosmic improvisation and wayward folk music from Clevelandâs Universal Liberation Orchestra. The groupâs name is, in one sense, a tongue-in-cheek reference to their changing membership, while also a proclamation of intention. Started in 1979 as a five-piece, first known as the Cleveland Collective, the group eventually whittled down to the duo of brothers River and Tom Smith. Much of the siblingsâ music has an overt political bent; their first two albums under the originally abbreviated name Universe, New Day (1984) and Open Season (1985), express anti-war sentiments with songs like âThe Bombâ and âHiroshima Nagaski Blues.â The brothersâ practiced what they preached, too: playing at anti-nuke demonstrations, performing at labor rights picket lines, and opening a Cleveland rally for Jesse Jackson during the reverendâs first presidential campaign. River himself even ran for congress multiple times, all while practicing as a clinical psychologist. River and Tom assume distinct roles in ULO: The former is the lyricist, while Tom handles songwriting and most of the instrumentation. Riverâs interest was always in poetry, and in his early twenties, he set up readings and workshops around Cleveland. Tom took guitar lessons at fourteen, and while he soon abandoned the instrument, he eventually embraced it, emboldened. âI had an aptitude where I could basically pick up any instrumentâwhatever suited my fancyâand play a little bit here and there,â he says. While much of ULOâs music follows folk rockâs lineage, a slightly psychedelic and cozy meandering that exists on earlier recordings takes full form on Communion. The album stands out in their discography with less emphasis on Riverâs vocals and more on the music: moody synths, bright percussion, and a delightfully homespun charm. The brothers called what they created for Communion âliberation music.â River defines liberation as ârealizing all the possibilities available for all of us,â specifically referring to ongoing battles against sexism, racism, and classism.Â
But this recognition of what could be manifested in their musical audacity, too. âWe didnât feel a great need to stay in one genre,â River asserts. While Universal Liberation Orchestra essentially ceased in 1992, both Tom and River continued their artistic pursuits in the following decades. Most notably, in 1993 they shifted their attention to running a politically charged cable access show that, in its current iteration, exists online and is called Liberation Brew TV. Tom, who has always edited the duoâs musical recordings, enjoys the same meticulous process for their videos. River continues to write, and published a self-help book called A Conspiracy to Love (2009) that comes with an accompanying CD, a couple tracks of which are from Communion. River expresses how happy he is to see things slowly but surely changing, as with the Black Lives Matter movement, and the greater acceptance of ideas regarding gender identity. He provides one more definition of liberation that feels true to his and Tomâs entire lives: âliberation is to care deeply about humans.â Universal Liberation Orchestraâs Communion arrives January 28, 2022 as part of uncommon¢ (uncommon sense), an open-ended serialized endeavor from Freedom to Spend providing new meaning for rarefied recordings from music's outermost fringe.
