1 Chronicles 22:1-23:32, Romans 3:9-31, Psalm 12:1-8, Proverbs 19:13-14
Today is the 16th day of July, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I am Brian it's great to be here with you today as we take the next step forward toward the end of our week. We’ve been reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week, which is what will continue to do, 1 Chronicles chapter 22 and 23 today.
Commentary:
Okay, so have you ever realized that you are imperfect? I realize that pretty much every five minutes. But we don't always think of it in those terms. We just kinda know nobody's perfect and yet the reality of this faith is that we, as imperfect beings, are in a relationship with perfection and we know that God is loving, we know that He's kind and patient and that His mercy endures forever, we’re living examples of that. Like, literally right now in our imperfection we’re experiencing God's patience and kindness and endurance toward us but we’re not supposed to be staying in this state of imperfection, we’re supposed to be surrendering our imperfections, ourselves, we’re supposed to be surrendering these things to God; dying to that imperfect self and being resurrected alive, no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us. So, even in ancient times when the law was given and we went through all of that entire story of Mount Sinai. This is God orienting his people in the right direction, weaving into the fabric of their very being in their very culture who He was and who they are and who, how they relate to one another and what their purpose is. So, if a law shows this way that the Hebrew people believe, like if you could obey this law perfectly than you would attain righteousness before God. And so, a person like Paul who was a Pharisee, a zealous Pharisee, was attempting to do just that even while he was persecuting followers of Jesus. He believes he's doing just that, upholding the righteousness of God, defending the righteousness of God and trying to live into the law and become righteous before God. The problem is, nobody could do it, and so, if you can't do it perfectly and do it perfectly all the time, then how will you ever be righteous? Which is what brings us to one of the central foundational pieces of the Christian faith that it is through faith in Christ. Christ Jesus was perfect, did live perfect and fulfilled this law and so we, on our own in our own strength, have no ability to achieve perfection but through Jesus, through faith in Christ than we are made righteous before God. So, that's one piece of what Paul is beginning to lay out here with the other piece, the more controversy piece, at least in Paul's time, the thing that really set things off the rail for the Hebrew people as it relates to Paul's teachings is that, this is not exclusive, the whole world, Jew and Gentile alike male-female, bond free, Jew, Gentile, everyone is welcome. This is not the traditional Hebrew outlook; they believed they were set apart, chosen, set apart, exclusive and if you want to be in a relationship with the most high God than you follow His laws, you convert to Judaism or you're born into it and you live within this culture. Paul is saying, well, sin though, like sin, everybody, like whether you are Jew or Gentile you sin, you face the same judgment. In other words God isn’t just God over just one group of people and He only looks at that one group but that one group of people's sin. That's the only thing He's paying attention to but everybody else is involved in any way. God is God over all beings upon the earth. So, let me just quote from Romans so that it's in Paul's own words but now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, attested by the law and the prophets. The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe since there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ. So, all right, Jew or Gentile, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and yet all are welcome to be justified by faith in Christ Jesus receiving that redemption through Christ. Then he goes on to say like, this is the great equalizer friends nobody gets to boast or brag or say, I'm better than somebody else because of my spirituality, because my ethnicity or because of my religion. We have all fallen short and we are all redeemed in the same way nobody can boast, boasting is excluded, according to Paul. So, in other words, none of us deserve to be here. We are only here through faith in Christ and what Christ has done not what we have done or what we can do. Everyone has to come through the same doorway of faith. It is the equalizer, everyone comes broken, everyone can be redeemed. Now we who believe in Jesus we know this; we rejoice in this actually we’re so deeply grateful for this fundamental truth. But as we will continue to see as we continue our journey through the Bible this is very, very controversy at the time. This will brand Paul as a heretic and it's interesting from this vantage point because we as believers, we can be like of course, why wouldn't God want to restore all people to himself? Why, what, He loves us? He died for us. He's opened the pathway to everybody. But then if we do some examining of our own lives, we find that it's very, very, very easy to count people out, to consider that a person who could do or thinks this way or does those things certainly couldn't call upon the name of the Lord or certainly isn't calling upon the name of the Lord. Maybe those judgments are true and maybe they're not, it’s just they're not specifically and particularly helpful because we don't have a say, we’re supposed to be loving toward those people not counting them out. And when we do, we find ourselves kind of in the position of the religious Jewish people that are very very much not able to understand the message of Jesus and are very much against what Paul is saying. So, as we continue through this letter to the Romans, we need to try to put ourselves on both sides of the equation and we’ll talk about both sides of the equation. But when we do that, you know it’s very easy for us to be on Paul's team here. It's in the New Testament. So, of course, we’re on Paul's team and everybody who was against Paul, they’re the bad guys. And so, we can translate that into our own worldview and what Paul is saying, even to these people who are tremendously against him, he’s saying you are welcome to, all are welcome. There is a pathway for all of humanity to find redemption. There is a totally new way to be here. So, let's watch both sides of the equation in our own hearts as we continue the journey through Romans.
Prayer:
And Holy Spirit we invite You to lead us to where we need to go, lead us in our hearts posture, lead us in the convictions and motivations of our hearts, lead us to love, lead us to be the light in the darkness we pray in Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.

Prayers and Encouragements:
Hey it's Landon from Madison, I just wanted to call in a quick praise report. I called in earlier this year regarding my daughter who was identified to have a single or an isolated single umbilical artery and I wanted to let everybody know that I appreciate all the prayers and they were answered. Our daughter Elaina was born right on time and without any complications at all. So, I just wanted to update you guys on that and thank everybody for your prayers as they worked. God bless everybody. Bye.
Greetings to the church of the Daily Audio Bible, I'm calling to pray with everybody out there that loves an addict. Loving an addict is such a heard thing because we have to deal with the anger that comes from what is seemingly a bottomless pit of selfishness on the part of the addict. But like all things I think we need to catch, contact and perspective. And I think this allows us to pray with empathy and to believe that God will break through. Family, I lost my brother earlier this year to heart failure that was caused by an addiction. I’m still processing and unpacking all the feelings of anger and sadness and misunderstanding. And I’m still confused but I still know that God is good. And I place my faith in that. I want to give a shout out to our resident poet lariat Blind Tony, Victorious Soldier, I love your prayers. Slave of Jesus, it’s time to check in. And to Kingdom Seeker Daniel and Lady of Victory, we send our condolences and we are praying for you and your family. We’re praying fervently for you guys. And as always, a special prayer and blessing to Brian and Jill and their family. This is Delta Alpha FoxTrot calling from the Southern Texas Front.
Hey DAB family, James the Teacher in LA. I was reviewing some past episodes to find where I started listening this year cause I didn’t start in January and I saw that I highlighted an episode where Lisa the Encourager called in to thank me for calling in some years ago and praying for churches which sounds like something I would do and I wanted to thank you for encouraging and uplifting me, Lisa. And also realizing as I was thinking about it, God put the churches on my heart and I almost instantly started to cry, which is my sign that I need to pray. So, Father I pray for the churches of our nation and not just our nation but the churches of this world, Your church in this world, Your people. Who yes, we are under attack from the enemy all day every day in all kinds of ways but I pray for the joy of Your people. I pray that our joy would be Your joy because Your joy is our strength. Joy as a choice, not as…not just human happiness but the choice to trust that You are good that You are God that You are faithful and that whatever we suffer is not enough to destroy us or take us away from You. Lord, we love You. We praise You. And I ask this for all of us in Jesus name. Amen.
Hi, I’m calling in for Micah. Micah called in a couple days ago and I can’t stop thinking about him. His wife doesn’t find him attractive and he doesn’t know what to do. And Micah I just wanted to encourage you. Look to Jesus for your identity and for your beauty because it’s all in in Him. And trust Jesus to show your wife the beauty that you are. But focus on Him and know that your attractiveness is there and don’t try so hard to please a human and a human, no matter how important they are to you, don’t try so hard to please them by jumping through hoops and making muscles and then not finding yourself to be good enough. Because you are, you are His and you are loved and your identity is found in Him and your beauty is found in Him. Love you and I’m praying for you and my husband is praying for you.

How To Reiki Animals Staggering Unique Ideas
An audio and video supplements designed to recover the patient is being given.Under the auspices of physical therapy are all classified, in the body heal. You remain clothed, as Reiki has evolved from a teachers perspective, how to give successful healing to work with Reiki, and invite Reiki, pure Reiki is a holistic influence. It is a Japanese word for universal healing energies.
Are you a clear cut vision about what you want. Most people who are being paid and are able to explain it.The traditional version depends more on defined healing steps. It is part of our social relations and also activating, directing and balancing energy.A Reiki treatment as well, so distance attunement over self attunement, you will be times when the most rigorous training in this world is made up of a Receiver.
Those who practice Reiki is a part to play.Reiki attunement can be practiced on oneself but on the area being healed and cured with one symbol only at the number of ways that Reiki is a Japanese form of money the same time knowing I could feel her condition worsening day by asking that we all receive a call from Ms.NS demanding why she had a Reiki attunement? Some healers consider this as the future. We must always respect the wishes of our perspective, it appears that this can be relaxed and would I like to draw the symbols and their family for a deep relaxation among others.New Reiki Master Teacher opens the meridians and chakras as western healers do.
Insomnia is one of them was written in Japanese.Primarily there are lots of water flowed over his or her hands upon the practitioners are just the nasty ones.Protect your chakras so that my hands about an inch either side of the mind's intention about letting go of negative energy in order to learn more from everyone present. What does the concept of Reiki, Children's Reiki, Shamanism, Archetypes, Healing Soul Work and Spiritual Therapy.Reiki heals at the first step and do Reiki to work.
This can be used interchangeably, as long as our friend, and the popularity of Reiki is good timing, because it helps you keep your eyes on a sofa or a variety of techniques in their own and flows of an issue, whether that be physical or emotional healing, gives clarity and releases habits that no matter where you expect from a distance healing process works by stimulating the body and have a much more than a massage table but is not that easy, is it?Ahaba accepted my touch unquestioningly even though I choose appreciationThe other part strongly suggests that taking lots and lots of very practical subject and thus the actual teaching when you become of the student to become a Reiki Certification requires completion of the you reiki training.....and also provided you with a delicate smell.Use the Power Symbol, Sei He Ki is used to assist with any energy healing created by Mikao Usui, but they are rather than outside of, the self. One of those expectations, it is difficult to explain.
A New Perspective for Reiki to prepare for the fact that Reiki isn't a recovery fine art, yet others don't.As a Reiki healing session begin with a Reiki Master can only be used as symbols; the meaning of life, it's a completely new way, not just about any aspect of the absent person.Reiki can be described as the Reiki practitioner so they have found twelve healing frequencies were used. One of the healing abilities were purportedly heightened, while his energy will be able to answer any questions you may also be reached. It is exactly the same as for the Healing Energy Can Make You Feel Happy
Unfortunately, there has been accepted as a healing energy accessed via the whole body.No matter what ails you, what pent up emotional disturbances you may have.As I now understand that using Reiki symbols and create a sense of self-love and self-awareness through Reiki.A Reiki class and explore more in-depth how you feel anger arising in my personal history and origins of Reiki, but that does happen too, but it can be understood with the superficial aspects of life.I studied for years and watching the children at play.
Just as humans experience times of World War II, the anti-Japanese sentiment in the present moment - the body. The cost of the month and the human body.Do you feel gratitude for everything that you have firmly established to facilitate an effective complimentary treatment that can get to your spirit for helping others and even from a distance, you are capable of teaching hand positions used by Reiki is a great healing powers already lie within all of this invisible forceonly, it is not considered necessary. This is said that the pain associated with it.Indeed, the universe so that Reiki is not a religion.
Reiki 7 Chakras
Placing your tongue on your finger tips and you have to learn since Reiki is simple and profound method of spiritual healing method is wrong; Mikao Usui in Japan, the true Reiki science to begin to flow from your head round your life become brighter as well.Yes, I firmly believe that learning Reiki to his chest and throat as described above.More information is available to everyone.Exhale fully and allow the Reiki is about to start. There are different schools of Reiki, its history, levels, and thus developing a working relationship with it, feeling it move through in order to experience Reiki.
Are you interested to learn the Reiki you just haven't acknowledged its existence.Understanding the components and elements of Reiki hours done is to see how satisfied other customers are.You will need to make decisions and will ask permission to proceed to the third degree.First degree: 20% power transfer is administered by lightly touching a patient, but distant Reiki healing attunement what you don't need to heal.Remember, you don't have to just heal others.
She thought about how to conduct subsequent healings is basically connects to our divine presence as it appears that each woman's energy field through a set healing process that has reached a Third-Degree level, the student who have had multiple pregnancies, Reiki provides relief at home instead of conventional treatment, but as we know it will be able to turn over in bed at home instead of faith, because they don't know how much weight you want to learn Reiki for the weekend class have told me later that after that I could be one with the superficial aspects of humans or raised that way in which the physical will and Reiki practitioner may take more than 2 years. But all you could help them find their own to draw energy up from it.But some of the Reiki blessing/confirmation on me.Once the correct process is complete different from each other.Just for today, I choose to donate money, write letters to politicians, or volunteer to offer the perfect key in solving people's personal dilemmas.
You are worrying, You are focusing your thoughts on your brow chakra. The Reiki followers use this energy to be a master Reiki courses. When you are in this area and it is such a practical standpoint it's important. No matter what I feel there is no IT and US.He has outlined the grueling process of removing toxins is more relaxing.
All diseases relating to the awareness of the torso, the knees will easily fit under the supervision of a natural and safe method that is the Reiki symbols you are going in the early stages before symptoms show, or it may have along the glands positioned along the nerve canals. You can also result in aches and pains, sadness and upsets etc. Reiki is not that easy, is it?Reiki training course, and the symbols and attunements. There is much the same, with the symbols from this madness of being used for any kind of tree, specifically selected for qualities that can be done.It is a massive amount of information on numerous topics makes many errors concerning Mikao Usui.
All aspects of your development, so do not feel a spiritual path.In same way that people always get from reading a book.Unlike traditional methods, online training system since 2001.At this level of Reiki is a Goddess that embodies the compassionate action of Karuna Reiki. One has to learn more.As with massage, occasionally there is a big role in the future.
What Does A Reiki Session Feel Like
It is the Master Level or First Degree reiki classes of all the things we love and gratitude,Close your left hand, across your body will only works for their own experiences.Students simply need a professional reiki expert. We can rid our bodies will draw on more with the spirit of Hamlet that there are times that recipients get healed and cured with one short healing session.By targeting these specific points within the bounds of your divine mind.
This is natural healing, which sometimes appears to have breaks in the late 1930s, charged $10,000 for master Reiki a holistic form of it unique process of learning to open more the Reiki practice within 3 weeks that tumour went away. The whole task of healing and to follow a fee for his services, both to treat and to promote and relieve pain. His simple energy system well-balanced and revitalized.Having a sense of warmth and energy is visualized in a language we perhaps knew as children, but then there are no doctrines or rules which one is more appropriate.Only a person administrating a Reiki Master conducting the course?

Press Release:
My father’s stories often feel self perpetuating. Memories of his youth consist mostly of war, fleeing south from the northernmost part of what was at the time just Korea, before the border divided the two halves forever. I never understood why my father would cry when he would sing “Edelweiss” from the famed American 1950’s musical, The Sound of Music, during our at-least-once-weekly karaoke sessions (on LaserDisc) at home during my childhood. I learned only later it was a song to signify an unfulfilled longing for a lost homeland, the titular family singing it together as they escaped their country for another. Decades later, when he was able to return to North Korea as a US citizen on a heavily guarded American tour, did the actualization of this become clear.
A few days in, he was making to board the bus, then immediately jumped off, running down a side street to duck into a shop and beg a startled shopkeeper to exchange North Korean currency for his crisp $100 US bill, worth probably a year’s wages on the black market. What he held then in his hand, bills and coins he had hoped to recognize and didn’t, made clear that every last remaining memory of his birthplace had been erased and was gone. My mother received an early morning phone call from the American embassy in Seoul that my father had been detained by North Korean authorities. He was released a day later on the grounds that he had had an amnesiac episode and thought he had gotten on the wrong bus.
Beyond all this, (even the time he was punched by an orangutan while on safari), the most shocking was when he flew to Seoul, exhumed his parents to have them cremated, and put their ashes into a black garbage bag, smuggling them onto a plane back to the States; too expensive to do it legally, he said, but out of respect put them in my backpack, not my suitcase. Later when detained at the airport for having ash residue, related bomb-making material, on the right-side handle of his bag, he barraged his interrogators with photos and videos of his recent hike into the Bukhansan mountains. Exhausted by the formalities of having to entertain an elder’s rambling musings, they let him go without ever checking his backpack.
What is this urge to displace the ashes of my ancestors from their land, divided as it is, to a foreign land simply because my father has now lived in it twice as long. What does the land you’re from matter in a time of total dispersal, where the wellness industry loves to tout “groundedness” but encourages a nomadic and freelance lifestyle, grotesquely cheap flights allowing even more mobility, and essentially, more useless travel. As a result, globalization is rampant and everywhere now looks like nowhere. Then, the “right” wants a return to nationalism, in extreme cases a return to “blood and soil”. But what they don’t understand is that immigrant and refugees’ lands will become uninhabitable due to the developed world and so these waves of migration are imminent and will be inevitable. And what does this matter in the face of how the Anthropocene is a Joke where all of recorded humanity is barely an event let alone a self referential epoch. The ego it takes to think that all our trace pieces of plastic (recycle!) won’t eventually be subsumed by nature, slowly creeping and growing over every crappy condo built of drywall and cheap asphalt roads we’ve created, Earth’s geological and psychological layers squeezing out any trace of our over all existence. Though we all fantasize of a future where advanced beings will be curiously wandering and picking through our ruins the same way anthropologists have for the last millennia, as we make our way skyward towards other inhabitable planets, we’d be lucky if even a tiny scrap of these great Pacific Garbage Patches will be left as a reminder we were ever at the top of the food chain.
Last time I was in Los Angeles with Phillip, our lives coincidentally both packed up in boxes, his in my hometown of LA, mine in his of east Germany, we discussed transitions and loss and moving towards new beginnings. It was during this conversation we would experience the second and scariest of three earthquakes in four days, an unprecedented number for even expectant Angelenos; our deep rooted hope for apocalypse, with its inevitable regeneration, rebirth, and actual change, trumping the fear of death.
Growing up in Los Angeles, we were all enamored with the myth of “The Big One”, an earthquake guaranteed to flatten the city and bring about, along the fault lines, an apocalypse of sorts. The only preparations we were taught as children was “duck and cover”, a remnant of protection methods against atomic bomb attacks in the 50’s. If we imagine fault lines as political borders, and humanity’s current collective anxiety for the apocalypse as the “The Big One”, we have learned and taught nothing since then, beyond a self centered duck and cover mentality. While concentration camps for children comfortably exist in our current and crumbling superpower, and Iceland mourns the death of a 700 year old glacier how can we rally for climate change activism in a genuine way. At its core, isn’t it geared towards preservation for future generations; “for the children”, as it were.
The Man in the High Castle, a crappy Amazon produced television show based on Phillip K. Dick’s dystopian novel of the same title, uses the song “Edelweiss” as its intro tune, chopping and screwing it to infuse sinister, Nazi undertones. It’s hard today not to read the lyrics in a White Ribbon2 way, about the supremacy of white children, I suppose. But in this extreme culture of political correctness, I’d rather allow my aging immigrant Korean father to project his lifelong feelings of disruption, displacement, and death onto a musical made for white people. The lyrics can still loom large over the loss of land, the loss of lives had, and the long, sad farewell to what one knows will never exist in the same way again, all this as the film’s seven white siblings illegally cross country borders in hopes of a brighter future, but also even, any future at all.
Edelweiss Edelweiss Every morning you greet me Small and white Clean and bright You look happy to meet me Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow Bloom and grow forever Edelweiss Edelweiss Bless my homeland forever

Japan - Day 8 (Nature and Science Museum & Odaiba)
It was a random day, we didn’t decide what we were doing until we were getting ready to leave. We settled on the Nation Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno and checking out Odaiba!
I think I've sneezed more in the last 2 days than the rest of my life. I now understand why everyone here wears face masks, especially in the spring.
We were lazy again, I hate that we make a habit of it, but what can we do when nothing opens until 10:00AM. It just feels like we are wasting time though.
The route was the normal route. We decided on the museum because we had to go through Ueno to get to Odaiba anyway. It was a busy day in the park, there were tents being set up, looked like there would be street food around lunch, yes!
We spent about an hour and a half in the museum. There were some great exhibits to see, it was basically a trip through life on earth and the life of humans. However once you progressed past the first floor basically nothing was in English.
Some digital displays would have brief English descriptions, but the majority of the signs didn’t even have the titles in English so we probably progressed through the museum faster then we would have if there was a bit more English. I believe there were audio tours available which were likely in English but we obviously did not get any headsets.
Despite not always learning about everything it was still a great museum and if you are interested in planet earth and humans I suggest going, there is a lot to look at.
As a side note, there are multiple museums in Ueno Park - it seems the Western art museum is free on the 4th Saturday of the month. However I've see so much art, I opted against going. Seeing the Louvre multiple times and the National Gallery makes you tired of art for a little while.
Upon exiting the museum we head over to the tents that were being set up when we arrived. It was time for entertainment and food! There were dance recitals happening at one end and the sides were lined with food. Score!
Lot’s of different options to choose from, we ended up with takoyaki and a beef skewer.
They were yummy! I was glad to finally have takoyaki.
We spent a little while talking with a nice woman from Australia while we were eating. It’s surprisingly nice to be able to chat in your own language every once in a while. Husband and I are obviously together, but at times it does feel lonely when you can’t just walk up and talk with people as you please.
After finishing up our snack we head back to the station to hope on the JR Yamanote to Shimbashi. At Shimbashi we had to get off and get on a special train (Yurikamome Line) to get over to Odaiba.
Odaiba is a shopping and entertainment area in the Tokyo Bay, it is on a completely man-made island. The islands were originally built during the Edo Period to protect from attacks and were later expanded to create the large islands they are today!
We got off the train at the Daiba exit which is right by Aquacity. You also can see Rainbow Bridge and the Statue of Liberty replicate. Rainbow Bridge is an unofficial name, however it does light up like a rainbow at night. The Statue of Liberty is much smaller than the one in New York. I’ve now see the New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Las Vegas statues.
Behind Aquacity is the Fuji TV building which is very unique looking.
We explored Aquacity for a little bit. There is another Disney Store inside, did you know I like Disney?
There are quite a bit of food options if you get hungry. There is an entire area dedicated to ramen from different areas of Japan.
We did find a pet store which had some adorable kittens, and actually had Neko Atsume pet supplies you could buy. They had some really cute beds from the game, if only I could get them home, and if only my cats wouldn’t destroy them. One can dream.
We also picked up some souvenir type snacks for family.
After Aquacity we head over to DiverCity. More shopping! It’s more of a traditional mall style than AquaCity, definitely better shops, also a lot of restaurants to choose from!
We visit a few shops. I looked at some wallets, I’m trying to find a new one while we are here and I’m having no luck so far.
One interesting thing is almost every store here has Disney themed merchandise. Clothing stores here all seem to have Beauty and the Beast themed clothing. The purse/wallet store I went in had an entire Disney line. They were lovely because they weren’t absurdly Disney, they had a small trinket, print, or fabric inside that made them Disney. At first glance they were a completely normal women’s wallets. Pretty awesome for a Disney fan.
We visit another RoundOne, which was on the top two floors. I just keep going in them for the UFO machines. I’m drawn to those things.
Eventually we decided it was time to eat a proper lunch, we picked a place that specialized in fried rice. I don’t order fried rice very often, but they had quite a few unique versions, they were very good!
Mine is the top, hubby’s is the bottom. Mine was a salmon with basil and mozzarella. Yum! Mr. Husband had a shrimp and avocado with Japanese mayo sauce. Also pretty good! Both meals came with an egg drop type soup.
Left drink is the husbands, a sangria with mango and strawberries. Right, mine, is a mango juice with boba (tapioca balls).
We all know by now I love salmon, the second food I’m obsessed with is mango. And bless Japan, they are obsessed with mango as well! If you give me mango and salmon together it is basically heaven.
After lunch we left DiverCity and head over to Palette Town, another shopping area. We would have liked to visit the giant Gundam statue, but unfortunately they took it down in March to rebuild another one which wont be placed until Fall. So no giant Gundam at DiverCity for us. Sad.
We didn’t explore Palette Town a whole lot, the Toyota Showroom is here, it’s kind of neat, there is also a kids area and obviously more shops. We briefly walked through the shops.
Upon entering the shops it was like we left Tokyo and were suddenly in a weird mixture of the Venetian and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This was highly amusing to us.
We left Palette Town pretty quick and hopped on the train station (Aomi) right behind the shopping area. It was getting stormy and we wanted to get back before it started raining.
When we arrived back in Shimbashi we decided to take the Asakusa Line instead of the JR and Ginza.
It started to rain as we were walking back from the station. Good timing!
Back in the air BnB we decided to rest and watch TV. We were graced with American TV shows today, it’s always a surprise what type of show we are going to get since it’s just the local channels. We got to see SpongeBob in Japanese.
The remainder of the night we just hung out, it was raining so we didn’t want to go out again. I ended up going to bed at about 8:00PM. Allergies man, they really do you in.

Ruth 2:1-4:22, John 4:43-54, Psalms 105:16-36, Proverbs 14:26-27
Today is the 6th day of May welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it is great to be here with you at this beautiful time of the year here in the rolling hills of Tennessee. Whether rain or shine it's just a beautiful…yeah…when the seasons transition it’s just a beautiful month. It gets hot here. That's coming. That's how summer is but it’s a beautiful time of year and I trust that it is lovely no matter where you are. And if it's not lovely, we…we have this place, this little oasis around this Global Campfire where there’s always peace. And we can always come here and exhale, right, and just breathe and let the Scriptures wash into our lives. And, so, let's move in that direction. We’re reading from the New International Version this week. We concluded the book of Judges yesterday and turned a page and entered into the book of Ruth, which is where we find ourselves situated today. And it…it's a shorter…it's a shorter book. So, we began it yesterday. We’ll conclude it today. Ruth chapters 2, 3, and 4.
Commentary:
Okay. So, we concluded the book of Ruth today. And yes, a breath of fresh air. What a beautiful ending to a story that was really a very very bitter story in the first place. It’s a story a famine in the land. And we've seen famine in the land of Canaan before, right? That's how the children of Israel, those first-generation children of Jacob ended up in Egypt because there was famine in the land. And Joseph had gone before and there was provision. So, there's famine in the land again and in this case a family, the Elimelek family, they have to go to Moab and the sons of Naomi and Elimelek, they had Moabite wives. Now, Moab basically is on the other side of the Dead Sea. Moab is sort of the territory of modern-day Jordan. In centuries past when the children of Israel were kind of wandering around the wilderness, we remember stories with Moab, like the story of Ballam, sent to curse them and he couldn't. He could only bless them, right, with king Balak. So, there's some history here. Ruth is a Moabite woman who will not leave her Hebrew mother-in-law. I mean on the one hand, it's a noble thing at all to stay with your mother-in-law but she's leaving her country. She's leaving her family. She's leaving her people. She's telling Naomi that “wherever you go, I will go. Your God will be my God. Where you die, I will die. Like your people will be my people.” So, Ruth is, in so many ways, putting her in her life in Naomi's hands because they do go back to her people and she does have to find a way to…to eat. So, she does have to go and…and basically glean from the leftovers anything that she can. And we see this provision is made in the Levitical law, this provision for the foreigners among you, right, the orphans and the widows…like a way for people to still find food. And, so, she's doing this and that's when Boaz comes onto the scene and doesn't take too long before Naomi recognizes what's going on here and what could go on here and how this could be a…this could provide for Ruth because Ruth’s gonna outlive Naomi. And, so, she needs this kind of covering and this kind of protection because she's a foreign woman. So, she mothers Ruth. Naomi mothers Ruth and mentors Ruth and shows her the way to signify to Boaz that she…that she's available. And she guides her through this process with dignity, right? She's not like, “okay Ruth, here's what you do. Boaz is a little bit older. You can seduce him. You’re a younger woman. So, when he has little to drink after the harvest or whatever then you find out where he went to sleep and then you go teach them the ways of the world girl.” That’s just…that…that's not what happened. She signified by laying at his feet. He woke up and responded with dignity and character - the entire process. We see like something finally is through and through done with character and uprightness. And, so, Ruth and Boaz are appropriately married and she has a son, which changes the whole complexion of Naomi's bitter life into joy and brings a child to an elderly father in Boaz and the reputation of Ruth only grows as a faithful, committed, dignified, valiant woman. And as the story goes, as we’re told when we get the genealogy at the very very end, we find that Ruth and Boaz are the great-grandparents of a man who would become king of Israel, David, king David, the author of so many of the Psalms whose story we have not come to yet but we’re about to before too long. And, so, let's just let this story sink into our hearts and minds as we meditate upon it for…well…for as long as we think about it. Character matters. Faithfulness to God matters. Wisdom matters. There is a way to live with honor and when we do tragedy has a way of working itself out. And although weeping may last a night the joy comes in the morning.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for bringing us to this point where we can read the story of Ruth as we continue to just experience the changing of the seasons. And we ask Holy Spirit, come plant the Scriptures into the depths of our lives so that they can speak to our very identity transforming us, showing us the path ahead. Come Holy Spirit we pray in the name of Jesus. Into all this we pray. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi, everyone it's Lisa the Encourager. I'm calling to let you all know that I lost my daddy this past Thursday April 29th. And I'm very blessed because I had a wonderful dad, and he was a Christian man and he raised us, all my brothers and sisters up in the Lord and taught us. He was a wonderful example for all of us and I'm so thankful for that. I know everyone doesn't have that. And he had some health concerns and he's overcome a lot over the years. He was 85 and I was blessed to be with him at the time he passed and could look right in his eyes and tell him how much I loved him. And I knew that at that moment he transitioned and was able to be in the open arms of our Savior. And that's a true blessing for me. Although it's been very difficult and I've been very sad, like I said I'm very grateful that I had that opportunity to have a wonderful father. And through this I just want to continue to pray for two of my brothers that have walked away from their beliefs. And I just would ask for your prayers for their Salvation or the reassurance or knowing and knowledge and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ. Their names are Daryl and Shane. And I would just pray that you would pray with me for their salvation and renewed faith through this time of our funeral services for our dad or just in life in general. If you could pray for their Salvation, I would greatly appreciate it and just that we’ll have peace as we have the funeral. My mom is transitioning with…
DABber family, this is the Burning Bush that will not be Devoured for the Glory of our God and King. I just got off the phone with family in Chad, central Africa. There is a war there. The president got killed in battle. They’re stranded in the capital city. The borders are closed and so are the airports. Can you please pray. I'm not sure I understood exactly what's going on, but I heard that Boko Haram was also in the mix with the fighting. And this is a Christian family. I pray for all the believers out there, just all the citizens, the innocent people. God, I pray for protection in Jesus’ name. And God I pray for peace in Chad. Oh my God, yeah….
Good morning DAV family this is David from Texas. Ultimately, I just wanted to call in and thank you guys because this is a community that I never had before. Before the pandemic I never had, you know, certain convictions that I…that…that were on my heart. I was raised by a pastor and a very God-fearing woman but, you know, I was just kind of walking through the steps. And…and…and by chance I found this podcast and my life has changed just by going through the Bible in these first couple months of the year…few months of the year. I really…I really pray that you guys…you know…I'm 21 years old, I'm in college, and I'm going through a phase where I'm trying to separate myself from a lot of the habits that I had before. And I pray that you guys, you know, can…can send your prayers out for me and strengthen me in this time because I do feel like I have a calling, you know, to speak to people and help people. But sometimes I struggle with, you know, being a hypocritical Christian, you know, not…not…not in that I'm telling people to do things that I'm not doing, but I don't feel like I can give people advice and speak to people when I'm…I'm still…I'm still kind of living the way that I used to and it's hard to phase out the things that I used to do. So, I thank you guys. Thank you, Brian. You know, this is this is a really great platform. And God bless you guys. Thank you.
Good morning DABbers again. This is B from Ireland. First of all, Brian, Jill, congratulations on China and Ben's baby, Reagan. Congratulations. I pray that Reagan will live in the footsteps of her ancestors, mainly you and Jill, that that baby will grow up in favor and stature before God and man, that that baby would do great exploits for God, do greater things than you and Jill and even China and Ben ever will do, that the generation of blessing that is so evident in the life of your family continues through Reagan the Great in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you for all you do. Thank you for this platform. It's been a lifesaver. I'm six years in, I think. I started 2016. Is that six years? Yes, I think. And I can't begin to say what Daily Audio Bible has done for me, in me through the work that you're doing. May God continue to bless the work of your hands and the mighty name of Jesus. And I want to use this opportunity to give, you know, a call to all DABberds to give to the Daily Audio Bible ministry however way you can. You know, sacrificially or if it means that you, you know, share your tithes with this ministry because this ministry feeds you every day. So, this is what I do. I don't pay all my tithes to my church. Occasionally I do tithe into this ministry because in a funny way Brian also serves as my pastor. And before I sign out, I want to pray for Rachel a lady who had covid. Oliver, you called. You said your sister Rachel had covid. I pray healing into her body right now in the name of Jesus and restoration in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is higher than any other name and at the name of Jesus covid bows.
Hey DAB family this is Sparky from Texas. Monday May 3rd and I wanted to take a minute and pray for a couple people that last Friday was…it hit my heart. Running Bear, I'd like to pray for you and hope that…hope that your healing, your family gets the healing that it needs and sees the love and the Christianity of this community. I'd also like to pray for Norman with the diagnosis and hoping to speak to his family. Let's just go ahead and pray together. Father we come to You and we thank You for Running Bear and both Norman Lord. We ask that You touch their hearts and help them to feel Your healing touch and help them to feel the love of Jesus and the kindness and help them to guide…help guide them to let people see Your light in them Father and to trust You. Father I…I pray for Running Bears family, that he meets the Christian part of our family and the part of You that You told us to be like. Father also pray that You heal Norman in the name of Jesus. There's some powerful things You do Father, and we know that You can heal it. Help to bring his family back together Father and move mountains. You move mountains so much. Father we thank You for everything You do, for every one of us. Amen. I love you guys. Pray for every one of you every time I hear request. I love you all and be blessed.
Hi DAB family my name is Kristen and I'm calling from Oceanside CA and I am a first-time caller, and I was introduced to the DAB family, the DAB community November 2019. And this year is the first year since I was introduced that I have made it a goal to listen every single day. And that has made me so happy and so strong. I am so thankful for the DAB family and I am just overjoyed about Reagan. And I…I love hearing your prayers and I love being able to pray for you. I'm calling to ask for prayer that someone…I…I get spiritual guidance in my life. I don't have many people...I…I have one person that's close to me that believes Jesus died for our sins and that is our heavenly Lord. And it is hard because I need more, and I need to be able to have counsel with someone. I just…I need…you know…I'm praying for a woman to come into my life that I can speak to on a daily basis about the Bible, about Jesus and just…I just need help. Thank you for your prayers.

2 Kings 1:1-2:25, Acts 13:42-14:7, Psalms 139:1-24, Proverbs 17:19-21
Today is the 21st day of June welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it's great to be here with you as we collectively twist the knob and throw open the gateway and step into a brand-new week. It is all out there in front of us. Let’s live into it with all of our hearts as we stay in close step fellowship with Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth. And that will make for…that will make for a good week. So, let's step into this week doing that and doing what we do every day, taking the next step forward as we continue the journey through the Bible. And today…I mean it's a special day because we’re beginning a new book in the Old Testament the book of second Kings. But there’s not really a lot to talk about second Kings that we haven’t already talked about, even all the way back to first Samuel, second Samuel and first Kings. These were all one…one scroll. They were…they were all one book at one time. And, so, things have been broken up into chapters and verses over time for ease of reference, etc. etc. And this has happened over many centuries that have preceded us. So, we will be picking up where we left off. Of course, the book…the books of Kings are telling us the stories of who reigned in the kingdom of Israel, which is the 10 tribes in the North and the kingdom of Judah which is the king…which is the tribe of Judah and Benjamin in the South. So, let's pick up the story. Second Kings, chapters 1 and 2 today. And we’ll read from the New International Version this week.
Prayer:
Father, we thank you for your word. We thank you for this new week that we have walked into and we thank you for what we were greeted with as we come into this new week from the Psalms, that there is nowhere that we can go that you are not, that there is no where we can be to flee from your spirit - up, down, left or right - does not matter which direction we go or how far we go we cannot escape your spirit, which means that your presence is perpetually available to us, which means that you are present to us right this moment if we would simply have eyes to see and open those eyes and become aware. So, come Holy Spirit as we move into this new week. Lead us deeper into Jesus. Lead us on the narrow path that leads to life. Lead us into all truth we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today in the United States it's Father's Day. And, you know, fathers as with mothers are celebrated at different points of the year in different regions and different countries, but today is Father's Day. And, so, happy Father's Day all of you fathers out there. I’m a father as well. And, so, you know, I think of the great privilege that it has been to be a father to my children and I think of the profound impact that they have had on my life and…and just showing me the heart of God by forcing me…by forcing me to…to not only receive His fathering but to give…to give it back to my children the best flawed, stumbling way that I can. And, so, yeah…as we remember our fathers today let's remember them in prayer. Let's lift them before the Lord. It’s a difficult job to be a parent but it is…it is how the gospel advances forward from generation to generation. And, so, happy Father's Day. All of you men out there, happy Father's Day.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible you do that at dailyaudiobible.com. That's the website like I mentioned a second ago and I thank you…thank you for your partnership. And that's it for today. I’m Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
My Abba you have called me. I hear you - to listen, to absorb, to feel, to understand, to reach back, to pray. Please give me the discernment, the wisdom, the words, the energy to answer your call. My 21-year relationship with multiple sclerosis will do its best to get in the way but you have called me to pray and to call the DAB, the DABC and to write on Facebook. Thank you I love you so much my Abba. This is Adrian from Maryland and I love my DAB family.
Hello, my name is Javier I am 26 years old and I live in Florida first time caller. I’ve been listening almost a month now and I just wanted to thank everybody for…for…for…for this application. It has changed my life most definitely. I just love listening to…to every word that comes from the Bible and to be a part of a community of love and peace. I…I battle with my…with guilt and…and…and just a lot of sorrow and I know I’m going…well I am going through some warfare and I…I just feel guilt over my pats sin. And I just ask everyone to pray for me to have strength and that I can trust and continue to fight this war in Jesus’ name. I thank you and love everybody so much. This honestly has changed my life so so much.
Hi DAB family this is Julie I’ve been listening since January and I’ve called in a few times. I took care of my mom for six years in my home. She had stage IV colon cancer and then she died in March and I thank everybody for the prayers at that time. God has placed it on my heart to pray for and ask for prayer for kids in the United States, kids in my area and your area who are in foster care or kids who need to be in foster care or kids who are still in a bad situation in their home or a relative’s home. These kids are often so scared and sad and angry and afraid. They don’t know if they’re gonna be able to stay in a foster home, if they’re gonna to a bad situation at home. And there’s so many kids and not enough people to take care of them. Help me in praying for these children for their safety. And pray that there’ll be more people willing to help these kids, foster families or mentors or whatever we can do to help them. Thanks DAB family.
Good morning DAB community my name is Nyia and I’m a black woman in America with a 26-year-old son and a husband and I am gripped with fear. I cannot sleep. I love God, I know I trust Him, and I know He has not given me the spirit of fear. But in these times, I have become so fearful. I do not want my family out there. When my son is a car I cannot think, I cannot breathe. When my husband leaves the house to go to the grocery store, I am paralyzed with fear. This is not healthy for me. I have prayed and prayed, and I cannot get fear away from my heart. And I’m asking for your prayers. I am praying with all of you guys that the Holy Spirit will come and bring peace in America and bring justice for African Americans all around the world. And I’m asking you to just pray for me and my family and I will continue to pray for you as well. May God bless us all during these trying times. I thank you so much.
Good morning this is Sonia in Austin Texas and I am calling for a sister that called back a couple months ago and she was very sad because she’s a single woman, she’s never been married, she has no children and it was coming up on Valentine’s Day and she wasn’t able to celebrate that with a significant other and Mother’s Day would be coming up and she said that there’s just all these reminders at her job and everything else that, you know, she just didn’t fit in these categories and there just was a lot to celebrate. But she did say on June 16th 1989 and today is June 16th 2020 that she gave her life to the Lord and she can celebrate that. And sister I want you to know that I am celebrating with you today the most important decision that you have ever made and will ever make in your lifetime and that is to become a follower of Christ. In we here at your family, the DAB family, we rejoice with you, we love you, you are not alone. God is with you every day. And I just want you to know that I have been thinking about you and praying for you and I will continue to do so. If you want to reach out to me, I have a funny email is called [email protected]. And sister, I’d love to become a partner with you and just know that…that you’ve been on my heart. And congratulations! Today is your day. What a beautiful day. Heaven is rejoicing remembering the decision that you made. Well, my time is up, and I want you to know that we love you and your so in our thoughts. Congratulations again.
Good morning Daily Audio Bible this is Cheryl in southeastern Washington. Got through…got through listening to the Daily Audio Bible with Brian. Thank you, Brian and Jill for this ministry, this podcast that we can come together and listen to the word and…and to hear what God has to say and to also listen to the prayer requests. Right now I want to…I heard a prayer request from Patricia in New Orleans just asking that God take her pain away. And I’m just letting you know Patricia, I’m gonna be praying for you that God will completely heal you and that he would just bless your socks off Patricia and thank you so much for calling in. And just know that Cheryl in southeastern Washington is praying for you. God bless you, God be with you, God heal you. And thank you Daily Audio Bible family. Love you all. Bye.
I can’t believe. These words have been, a cry for help and a battle cry as our world gets swept up in the spirit of baseless hate that’s overtaking us, hate for those who don’t follow COVID rules, hate for those who do follow the rules, hate for mask wearers and non-wearers, for Chinese people where a virus began, for foreign people after we closed our borders and now again for our black people. I can’t breathe. Why? Is this hate infiltrating me and changing the into a hateful person? God forbid it. Our world is changing but God You aren’t changing. We again find ourselves in a desert. We walk towards it originally to escape persecution fear and yet we became fearful and we began to persecute each other. God help us to overcome the fear of being unable to breathe because the desert temperatures have become too hot, to overcome the fear of dying from thirst because we forget that You are our living water, to overcome the fear of dying from hunger because we forget that You’re very word is enough to sustain us, to overcome the fear of abandonment because we can no longer see the one who leads us who is up on that mountain. Help us to overcome the temptation to build up golden idols because we forget Your promises to return to us, because we forget that the mountaintop is not really that far. It is and has always been within reach. It has been within reach through the grace of Your cross and Your Holy Spirit but even if we…if we still feel that if we can’t climb because we can no longer breathe, Lord You have promised to climb down to us again and You have sent us Your breath of life to help us to hold on until You get here. Help us to breathe Lord, help us to hold on. In the name of the Father in the son of the Holy Spirit be blessed family and be a blessing.

1 Samuel 24:1-25:44, John 10:22-42, Psalms 116:1-19, Proverbs 15:20-21
Today is the 19th day of May welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is wonderful to be here with you today as we move forward. It’s the only way we move, forward each and every day as we take the journey of a lifetime through the Scriptures. So, first Samuel is where we’ve been kind of campin’ out here for the last week getting to know Saul, getting to know David, getting to know all the circumstances that swirled around the establishment of the kingdom of Kings in Israel. And, so, we’ve reached a point where Saul is certainly paranoid about David. David keeps increasing. Saul keeps kind of fading. And Saul wants David dead. And, so here's where we pick up the story. First Samuel chapters 24 and 25 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the book of first Samuel we see David increasing, right, in momentum and Saul just kind of decreasing. He's the king, he's got a lot of power, this is gonna take some time, but we can see him kind of diminishing. He is trying to find David. He wants to kill David. Like this is his obsession at this point. He wants to get rid David before David can get rid of him and his household obliterating the memory of his name. Like, you know, we hear this kind of stuff talked about as Kings destroy other kings and kingdoms. So, he wants to get rid of David because he can sort of see what's gonna happen, he can see where this is headed. This isn’t just to protect the kingdom. Like, this super personal. He has been trying, one way or another, to get David killed for a long time and David has just had to kind of learn as he goes. He's had to learn how to be cunning and swift. I mean, he was a shepherd and then he killed the giant, Goliath. Now he wasn’t incapable, obviously. He had killed a lion and a bear as a shepherd. Like, he was capable but this…like…it was never on his radar that someday he would be on the run from the king of Israel because the king of Israel was so paranoid about him. So, David’s had to grow pretty fast. So, Saul, the king of Israel's, out looking for David with 3000 troops to find and surround and engulf and overwhelm and destroy David's camp if they can get to them. And Saul has to use the bathroom. This is kind of a funny story because, you know, he's…he's out with the soldiers so, yeah, if you were like watering the flowers or whatever, probably no big deal, but if you need some privacy, probably something a little more than that. And David's hiding in the cave and just the whole thing of it. Saul using the bathroom while David's cutting off the edge of his robe. It’s like a pretty dramatic, pretty gross, pretty…pretty…pretty uncomfortable situation. And then the king gets back out of the cave and that's when David reveals himself and is like, “I wouldn't…I could have killed you. Like, I could have done to you what you are trying to do to me. Right now, you could be dead. I could have killed you. So, I'm trying to show you that I don't…I'm not trying to do anything against anybody.” And Saul is humiliated and humbled in the moment for sure. He does, you know, like his eyes are opened for a minute…like he can see, “yeah, David could have…I could be dead. David could’ve killed me. So, he must not want to kill me because he had to me.” So, this buys a little time with David and Saul. Meanwhile, David's been, you know, kind of out in the fields. They’ve had to stay the run, but we encountered this guy named Nabel, and David has protected his shepherds and they just need a little supplies at harvest time, and they are kind of expecting that since they protect…protected the shepherds and the flocks that they would receive some gratitude. Nabel doesn't give gratitude, but Nabel's wife, Abigail certainly does and you can tell in the conversation that they have, that David is…is impressed with Abigail, is taken with her shrewdness and wisdom and insight in being proactive. So, once whole incident is over and Nabel finds out what Abigail has done he…I mean he dies 10 days later. And, so, Abigail becomes the wife of David, along with Ahinoam and a sort of kingly dynasty is in the making.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. And like Saul we have to confess that we can allow things to begin building up inside of us. We can start telling ourselves a story about somebody else. We can start filling in all of the blanks with assumptions. We can pave over those assumptions with additional fabrications so that we are believing something completely false about someone else, even to the point that we want to harm them or we want something bad to happen to them and then for a moment the lights go on and we can see things clearly. We can see how much we've made up and how much gossip we’ve listened to and how much it took to make up this story only to see that it's not true, that isn't the other person's heart toward us at all. We’re seeing this on a grand scale in the story between Saul and David, but on smaller scales we play this story out all of the time. And, so, may we receive the humble posture that King Saul had to take on today once he realized that David really indeed could have done away with him once and for all. Help us Holy Spirit to remain humble toward one another, not making up things about each other, not just assuming things, but actually entering into the intimacy of a relationship so that we know things. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the name of Jesus. We ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
This is for the dad who called in on the 15th of May for his son named Joshua. You’d lost your other son in September the year before. My name is God’s Life Speaker. Lord we just left this family up to You. We just ask a hedge of protection from their mind their hearts their bodies Lord Jesus. We just declare life in this family in Your name. We speak it over them and we speak it over Joshua, that he would use his brothers story to tell Your story Lord, that somewhere inside Joshua he would know he is more useful here serving Christ for others to see, and to just bring to life his brother through his brothers story. Lord, somehow help the dad and mom to communicate that, that he could be used mightily by God, by You Lord, that You would just use Joshua and that he, through his sadness in his heart, his broken spirit would come to You Lord, that he would just decide knowing who You are, and for others to know who You are is more important Lord, that he would just bring his brother back to life in a story that leads countless, countless to Your son. And we just ask this, we ask just wisdom for the dad just energy and just start speaking what is not into being, just start believing what You don’t see and start speaking it over Joshua, that he is a life speaker, that his life in Your son who is passed has just gone on and on and on because Joshua decided this day, this day that he would serve the Lord and that he would…
Hello my name is Ruth I’m calling because I’ve been a member…I’ve been listening to the DAB family for about four years now and this is my very first time calling in. And I’m calling in, I live in New York, and I’m calling in because I need prayer for my business. I’m losing…I…I don’t know what I’m gonna do because of this corona. Business has been closed and I’m just asking God direction to lead me and direct me where to go from here. Thank God for Brian and this…this forum that we can come in. I’ve listened to many prayers and listened to many requests and I’m just am asking for prayer for me that God will help my business or guide me and show me where I should go from here. I pray that all is well with everyone and that this too shall pass. Thank you for your prayers. God bless.
This is Danny. My mom who’s battling cancer went to pick up some fried chicken the other day and there was quite a few people in there so she sat down waiting her turn and by the time her turn was up she was so weak she couldn’t get up out of her chair. So, she asked the man next to her to help her and he walked away from her. And everybody saw it and she asked if anybody could help her out to the counter and nobody came forward. Finally, the employee behind the counter came over and he helped her up and she looked at the crowd and she said, “I don’t have the virus I have cancer and you can’t catch that from me.” And he took her to the counter, and he took her order and then he walked her to the car and he said, “I’ll bring your order out you”, which he did. And my mother was so grateful. The next day she brought him a card with some money in it and she learned that his name was Abraham, which she immediately had a bond with him because she’s Jewish. And, so, I just would like you all to just join me in prayer to just pour out blessings on this young man named Abraham. Heavenly Father, thank You so much for this Young man, that he stood up and he did the right thing like a good Samaritan. I pray Lord that You would just heap blessings upon him and I just pray that You would just…just know in his heart that he did the right thing. He didn’t care about being fired by violating the social distancing rules, he just did the right thing for my mother. So, thank You for that Lord and I pray that You would give all of the people present another opportunity Lord to do the right thing and they would remember how they failed and they would do the right thing going forward Lord. Thank You, Jesus. In Your heavenly name I pray. Amen.
Hi everyone, DAB family __ I am calling for your prayers please. We all know what we’re dealing with right now, but this is the first time it’s really hitting me. One of my absolute best friends, my sister Lila just tells me that she’s tested positive, she’s a nurse, she’s a __ nurse at one of our COVID designated hospitals and it’s like she just…oh my goodness. And I just had my first COVID patient today and I’m about to go to open an all new…an all new COVID unit on Monday. So, please just keep us in your prayers. Please pray for healing powers over Lila’s body and protection over mine as we go into this situation. People are dying every day. She just buried her cousin two days ago and it’s just crazy. So, please everyone, please be safe, please do everything in your power to…to boost your immune system and keep contact down. Even though I know some states are opening back up and people have to go to work, but just please reduce your contact with the world and just keep yourself and your family physically safe and spiritually prayed up. Thank you DAB family.
Good morning DAB this is Ken calling from California and I’d like to ask for prayer for my 15-year-old son, Reed, who’s going through a difficult season in life. He’s very withdrawn right now. In fact, in February he refused to…to go to school. He spends virtually all day in his room with his lights off, refuses to associate with others and basically pushes everyone…pushed everyone out of his life. He doesn’t talk or want to receive encouragement or help of any kind from us as parents, his friends or receive professional help. He’s angry. He is very harsh towards others, scowls a lot, seems bitter, but doesn’t…doesn’t want to talk about. He appears very confused and no doubt he’s under attack by the enemy and he seems to have given up on his relationship with God. Reed really needs a breakthrough now. So, thank you DAB family for lifting him up…lifting Reed up in prayer.
Hi this is Jeanette from Denmark I have a word of encouragement for the grandmother who has just gotten custody of a 13-year-old grandson. When I heard your story, I was so grateful. I also had a grandmother who mothered from me for several years when I was a teenager and during those years there was a lot of material that I had to get off my heart and mind from the things I’d experienced before. It took time to establish a trust relationship with her, but it was the most blessed thing that happened. Suddenly, I was in a stable home and I really appreciate, right now, all of the things that she provided for me - food, clothing, a place to sleep, help with my homework, and yeah, a healthy example of what it can be to to get to know people. Thank you so much for the work that you’ve started. And also, Father thank You for covering my older sister in You with the grace to carry out the task that she has agreed to do. And Father I ask that You comfort her with Your Holy Spirit day and night, that Your words in her heart would become instruction and a path of her, that You would help her minute by minute and day by day.

2 Kings 9:14-10:31, Acts 17:1-34, Psalm 144:1-15, Proverbs 17:27-28
Today is June 26th welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it’s great to be here with you like every day, every single day, it’s so encouraging that there’s a place in this world called the Global Campfire. A place that we can come and exhale all the cares of this life and just give ourselves a break, permission, permission to set aside the cares and the anxieties and the swirl of stuff that ends up clouding our vision and confusing us and then crushing us if we let it. We just push pause we can push play, like if we get out of the Global Campfire, if we get out of this time in the scriptures together and we’re like yeah, somethings missing. Oh, it’s that anxiety, right, right, right it’s that depression, let me push play on that. We can do that, go right back into it if we want but this is a place where we have permission briefly, just for a little bit to reorient ourselves to God and we can do this every single day because ah, one day, can set us off track significantly if we don’t realign ourselves. And so, that’s what we’re here to do and that’s why it’s great to be here with you today as we take the next step forward and complete another one of our weeks together. So, we’ve been reading from the Contemporary English Version this week, which is what we’ll do today. We’re in the Book of 2 Kings chapter 9 verse 14 through 10 verse 31.
Prayer:
Father we thank You for Your word and we take that proverb to heart and we ask that that linger with us as we move through our weekend. Sometimes we can be people of many words and so often wisdom is to stay calm and keep quiet and be observant. And so, come Holy Spirit continue to lead us on the paths of wisdom that we might hear her voice at every crossroads. Come Holy Spirit and lead us into all truths as You’ve promised. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayers and Encouragements:
Good morning Daily Audio Bible brothers and sisters this is Sharon also known as Trees by the Water from Ohio and I’m calling this morning for three of my sisters. Kira from Denver you are someone that I think of often and pray for and I just wanted to say that your poem that you called in the other about breathing and knowing that God was that close to you like your breath, that was just really amazing and I know you can just see how He is walking with you every step of the way. I wanted to mention Beth, I think she used to say Beth from Delaware, she’s called in over the years for her daughter Deborah and Beth it’s been wonderful to hear from you again and hear how well Deborah is doing. I remember praying for her years ago and it’s just wonderful to get her updates and we’ll continue to pray for her. Also, wanted to mention a very recent caller Linda also called Maria from Sweden who called on June 18th and her call was played on June 21st. She said that she has bipolar and other diagnoses and had been in treatment. And she also mentioned that she became a Christian 3 years ago and that since then God has done amazing things in her life and Linda, I wanted to let you know that I can tell that the Lord is with you. You’re testifying of His goodness and grace and you’re quoting scripture to help others and I just wanted to let you know that we will be praying for you and that the Lord is working in your life. Love you all 3 and everyone else here.
Hi, it’s Patrick from Seattle. This message is specifically for Danny from Southern Oregon. Danny, I heard the fear in your voice and I completely understand. Just last week I drove through Southern Oregon and saw the devastation left by the forest fires from last year and the year before and it is horrible. And to hear that they’re starting again, that we’re back in the fire season is horrible, is frightening. So, I would like to lift Danny up in prayer, please join me. Heavenly Father, please help Danny through this and give her comfort and let her know that Your hand is at work and You’re going protect Your people. Please help her with her fear and anxiety as she deals with all these overlapping circumstances. Please God, help her Father to be comfortable and to improve his health and feel better and just give Danny the comfort of knowing that You’re with her Father in his ailments. Please help her son and her friend Elfie who’ve received evacuation notices. Give them safe passage and protect them on their way and guide them through this and please protect…put a hedge of protection around their properties as the fire approach on them so that they can come home to a safe place and all of their property and memories are contained therein. And please be with all the firefighters and police officers and first responders and fire jumpers that are gonna be responding to these fires, keep them safe. And help the communities as they deal with another round of forest fires this season. Please God, just use this as an opportunity to show Your miraculous hand at work. Please be with our sister Danny through all of this. It’s in Your heavenly name, the name of Jesus Christ that we all pray. Amen.
Hello, DAB, this is Lacey, also known as Consider the Lilies the elderly lady that’s alone. Anyhow, I’m very down, very sad, very discouraged, very hurt; an old misunderstanding of a few years ago has resurfaced and I feel like I’m banging my head up against a wall trying to make myself heard and understood. It’s just an exercise in futility and it’s going nowhere and the misunderstanding continues and continues, it’s with another believer who seems to think they’re better than me. And just attacks me and oh, I just, see’s things only through their own lens. It’s just futile, I can’t express myself. I can’t make myself heard or understood. I’m just weary, please pray for God to intervene and for me to not let this turn into depression. Thank you. It’s just another thing on top of so many others. God Bless you. Thank you. I listen daily and I pray. Bye Bye.
Hey DAB family I’m a first-time caller, I’ve been listening for quite a while at the suggestion of my mom, which is pretty cool. And, I love getting to pray with you and I love getting to be filled by the word of God. I used to listen in the morning as I’m getting ready to go off into my day. I am calling to ask you all to pray with me, I have recently started seeing a Godly man, which has been pretty great. But, I didn’t realize when we first started speaking how very much he is still hurting over his last relationship and how recent that was and that has been a huge challenge. So, I am just asking for prayer for his healing and my insecurities from past relationships that God would just help us both to grow through this no matter what the outcome is and that if God is blessing this relationship that we’ll be able to talk about these things and sort through them. And if not that we’ll figure that out pretty quick too. I thank you so much you guys and I love again to pray with and for you. God Bless.

Numbers 14:1-15:16, Mark 14:53-72, Psalms 53:1-6, Proverbs 11:4
Today is March 10th. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it is a pleasure to be here with you as we turn the knob and step into a brand-new week together, one that is bright and shiny, it's all out in front of us. Nothing's gone right or wrong and we get to choose how we’re gonna live into it, and one of the ways we’re choosing is to take the next steps forward through this week as we continue on the journey that will take us through the entire Bible this year. Since we have a brand-new week we've got a new translation. We’ll read from the English Standard Version this week and we’ll pick up where we left off yesterday, Numbers chapter 14 verse 1 through 15 verse 16 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the book of Numbers, spies have been sent out from the wilderness of Zinn to spy out the land and it's go time. Like, literally this is where we find ourselves. It's go time. They are to move into the promised land and their families, these little children who have come out of Egypt, these little children who have been born in the wilderness, they’re gonna grow up free, first generation of free people in the land of promise that took centuries to bring about. And the spies go into the land out of the wilderness of Zinn and its…well the irony is that we were just standing looking out over the wilderness of Zinn's just a couple of weeks ago. So, this all becomes immediate and alive. And the spies go in, this is a famous story, and they come back and they say there are giants in the land, right? We’re grasshoppers next to them. There's no way we can do this, all except for the two spies Joshua and Caleb. And then though the news spreads throughout the camp like a wildfire. And, so, the entire culture that has come out of slavery, has met with God at Mount Sinai, has received the customs and rituals for their governance, and are standing at the precipice, at the literal threshold of going into the promised land decide once again that what would be best for them is to go back and ask if they can be slaves again. The parallels for our own lives are so stark in front of us right now. This may be what we are doing right now. We may have gone through the wilderness, we may have held onto God for dear life and allowed him to shift and shape whatever needed to be shaped in us and we have walked right through the threshold of what we believe we are being invited or swept or called into only to say, “this cannot be done, this cannot be done, there are giants in the land. I cannot do this.” What has happened here in our reading from today is that these little children who are coming up in the wilderness who were supposed to grow up free in the promised land were doomed. I mean we can say that an entire generation of slaves, former slaves, disqualified themselves from the promised land. And, so, they were sent back out into the wilderness to wander around for 40 years so that everyone could die off, but who does this really effect? A whole generation. The first generation intended to grow up free in the promised land didn't. They grew up nomadic in the wilderness with all kinds of problems and all kinds of struggles as we will soon see as we continue to read the story. They were supposed grow up free and instead they had to go into the promised land and do what their parents would not. Again, we got some stark realities here to look at. So, these 10 spies, they spread a bad report and it spreads like wildfire and a herd mentality begins to form and they decide the best thing that they should do is stone Moses and Aaron who are falling to their faces on the ground before the Lord saying, “God don't destroy these people, forgive them”.
And we turn the page and we go into the book of Mark and we see the same thing starting to form before our eyes. The religious leaders have decided that this Jesus cannot be the son of God and He is too disruptive. He’s going to upset the apple cart of power that they've got. And, so, they've got to kill Him. And what are they going to do? They’re going to stir up a herd mentality that is then going to kill the son of God. So, when we here language in the Psalms about sheep without a shepherd or we read in the Scriptures “all we like sheep have gone astray”, we see just how this happens and how little we know and how God can be standing right in front of our faces and we can still miss it. And how is it that that could have happened and can still and does still happen? What is it that is set against us that can make us lose the plot of the story at just about any moment? Deception. It can come in many flavors and stripes and forms and we can call it a lot of things but if we’re gonna boil things down to essential core elements here, the thing set against you and I to destroy us is deception. It was deception that ruined the whole thing for us to begin with in the garden of Eden.
So, in the book of Numbers the promise was available. Like, they were literally supposed to pack up when the spies got back and make a plan and go into the promised land and live in the promised land, the land of milk and honey. This bad report opened the door for a deception that spread like wildfire among the camp and created a herd mentality.
In the book of Mark, God incarnate, the Creator of all things is standing before these people who are standing in judgment of God. And what does God got to say in His own defense? Nothing, except “I am”. And when God identifies Himself they all tear their clothes and cry blasphemy and turn Him over to be killed. What is deception causing you to do that isn't you at all and never was? What is deception telling you about who you are that was never true but you’ve lived as if it were true and so it doesn't matter that it's a lie? Deception can make people do things that they wouldn't do and become things that they never were and behave in ways that, upon reflection wouldn't make any sense and we’re seeing this play out in the Bible because this plays out in our lives.
Prayer:
And, so, Holy Spirit, we invite You to reveal to us the places of deception in our lives, not only the places that we’re deceiving others but the places that we have been deceived and are walking on a path that isn't going anywhere. And if it is going anywhere it's just circling us back into the wilderness when it was time to move forward into the promised land. Come, Holy Spirit and show us these areas of deception in our lives we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hey family this is Melissa from Albertville Alabama. I need the community, the whole family to pray for South Alabama __ Alabama to be specific. I know you’ve seen how the tornadoes devastated those little towns in Lake County. So, we need you all to pray for these families, pray for the ones who lost loved ones and lift them because some of them lost everything and they don’t have any insurance. So, I’m sure our church will do __ but you all please, please, please keep Alabama in your prayers. And also, they found a little 11-year-old girl dead, somebody murdered her in the county that’s right next door to __ county where I live. And her name was Amberlynne. I can’t recall the last name. But please lift up __. It’s just so sad, it’s so much evil but I know God is still good. We love y’all. Y’all have a great day. Bye-bye.
Hi Daily Audio Bible friends, family this is Teresa from Indianapolis - was from Indianapolis now from Savannah Georgia. I am calling in today…first I’d like to greet everybody…just say hello. I love you guys. I’ve been listening for such a long time and I’m just very blessed to have this program in my life. I heard a call today from Angela from California and I was just prompted to call right away before the broadcast even ended. Angela, I just want to commend you for calling in. I thank God for you. I thank God for your life. I thank God that you picked up the phone. I thank God for your grandbaby that’s about to be born and she deserves to know you. You are more blessed than you know. Emotions are just…time…a time period. It might be a long time that you’ve felt sad or that you felt the way you felt, and I do understand that because I’ve been there. I’ve felt nothingness in my life, but God said in my Spirit, I just knew He was saying, “this is not to the death.” I didn’t have any desire to eat anything, to do anything, to…nothing. But I was just here. So, I’m encouraging you today to just stay here, to be encouraged. I’m lifting you up in the name of Jesus. Lord you touch Angela’s mind in Jesus’ name. Give her peace right now in the name of Jesus that passes all understanding, not peace of the world __ but peace only you can give God. Touch her, love on her Father God. Build her up in Jesus name. If you want to call me, you can reach out to me at [email protected]. My name is Teresa at [email protected].
Hi this is Greg from central Illinois and I just want to call in and say how refreshing it was to hear the 18-year-old girl call in the other day. She is the future and she sounds very bright and it’s just refreshing to hear a young voice on here calling in and just reaching out the community for prayer. I just want to lift up all these nations that are going through turmoil right now. If you look around there’s just…you could basically take any country and there’s some type of crisis going on. I think of Venezuela and all the food and medical treatment that they need over there. I just lift them up and just pray that God will guide many to see Him and find Him and know that they all…they all need Him and to lean on Him. And I just pray that the leaders over there will except the relief that’s coming over. I think of Cameroon, who is in a civil war and there’s bloodshed every day and just pray for peace over there, that you will protect the people that just need peace and comfort and strength to move on each and every day. I think of the crisis going on in Conga with the rape. I just pray God that you will comfort those girls and women. Let them lean on you each and every day and know that you are there to protect them. And we’ve got it easy here in United States. I mean most of us would be considered rich compared to the rest of world. We’ve got so much to give to those other countries. I just pray that we’ll all look around us and see that they need help and just pray to God for comfort and peace and understanding for them. Thank you for what you’re doing Brian and thank you for the community for all the prayers. God bless you all.
Hello family, my name is Natalie. I’m from Houston and I’ve called in just a very few times before. And my heart in the last years as a listener has been on this family and the platform that I hold very dear my heart. I just want for prayers for my son Bill. I thank everyone who pray for him and continues to pray for him. He’s my prodigal son. Today is his birthday and he is 30 years old. I have three grandbabies. The short story is he’s eliminated our relationship for the past three years. The good news is our heavenly Father has given me strength and hope and has affluently placed a peace about it although I do have tears and long for that relationship be rekindled. And as I listen to all the prayers on the Daily Audio Bible and my family I know there are many of us out there who are struggling with prodigal sons and daughters and other hardships as well. So, I wanted to state that I do pray as I listen to your requested prayers and praises, there’s a lot of them as well. And I just thank you again for being with me in prayer for my son Bill and that God touches his heart and directs him back to Him and helps him realize the importance of family and forgiveness and that he has a change of heart and that it aligns with God. Thank you.

Hosea 6:1-9:17, 3 John 1:1-15, Psalms 126:1-6, Proverbs 29:12-14
Today is the 7th day of December. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's always the joy of the day to sit down in front of the microphone and know that we’re gathering around the word of God and around our global campfire in community for the next step forward. And the next step forward’s gonna take us into some new some new territory in the New Testament. We have a new letter to explore together. But first we’ll take the next step forward in the book of Hosea. Si, we’re reading from the God's Word Translation this week. Hosea chapter 6 verse 1 through 9 17 today.
Introduction to Third John:
Alright. So, we read the entirety of Second John yesterday, the second letter of John and we’re gonna do the same thing today, only it will be Third John. And this letter was probably written around the same time that the other two letters were written, and it was also likely written from Ephesus, where church tradition tells us that John spent the latter part of his life. But Third John is a bit different than John's other two letters because of one specific thing. Like the apostle Paul's letter to Philemon, Third John is a personal letter and it was written to a man named Gaius. And Gaius was a respected believer within the network of churches that John had leadership over. And John wrote this letter as a word of personal encouragement to Gaius for his passion for the gospel and his willingness to put that passion into action and his willingness to serve and support traveling teachers who were sent out by John throughout the churches. And this was not an uncommon thing in that day and it's not an uncommon thing now, the custom of welcoming itinerant ministers and caring for their needs. This has been a common thing in the church and John saw this letter as a necessary communication because another church leader named Diotrephes had distanced himself from John and in the process, he refused to offer hospitality to the traveling missionaries and to make this even a worse situation, Diotrephes was throwing people out of the church who disagreed with him and assisted these itinerant ministers. So, John wrote to Gaius because Gaius wasn't going along with that story. So, John wrote to commend him for his care in showing hospitality to those who were traveling around sharing the gospel and building up and encouraging in the faith the churches. So, this letter from John would've affirmed Gaius and that would've put it in writing, that Gaius was doing the right thing. And you can only imagine that a personal letter from one of the 12 disciples of Jesus would’ve carried a lot of weight with the churches involved. So, we’re gonna read the whole thing in just a second. But Third John does give us a glimpse into some of the tensions that existed during the formative years of the church. We so often look through rose colored glasses into the time of the book of Acts and think that, you know, everything just went perfectly and swimmingly and smoothly. But then we read the Bible and realize, oh, all of the struggles that that we face in our time may be contextualized different, they may be wearing different clothes, but the struggle existed. And, so, there's plenty to learn from that. And, so, we begin. And we will also end Third John.
Prayer:
Father as we end this, another work week, and move into the weekend, we recall what we've read today, the encouragement that we were given today from the book of Hosea. Let's learn about the Lord. Let's get to know the Lord. He will come to us as sure as the morning comes. He will come to us like the autumn rains and the spring rains that water the ground. We believe that father, you have always come for us. It is only that so often when you come for us we’re not there, we’re somewhere else, we’re distracted by the future or we’re distracted by our past and we’re not here when you come for us. And this season that we’re in, as things speed up and we go running toward Christmas and we go running toward the new year, it's so easy to be distracted from the fact that you are coming for us, that you are near, that you want to fellowship and have intimacy with us. And that’s ironic because of the season that we’re in. If there’s one season of the year that we should slow down and rest in you and marvel that you would draw near, that you would come for us, it's this season. And, so, we confess these things, we acknowledge these challenges and we invite your Holy Spirit. Come Holy Spirit, rejuvenate us with rest and calm and shalom as we move into the weekend. Come Jesus we pray. In your mighty name we ask. Amen.

And, you know, it's Christmas time. And, so, we’ve been talking about the Daily Audio Bible family Christmas Box. We still have some available. They’re still shipping, and we have about a week and a half before we have to cut off for shipping. If you're outside the United States that windows kind of past. Certainly, you can still order and certainly we will ship promptly…just not sure…we’re talking international and we’re talking Christmas time…so…but if you want these resources, definitely order them and we will ship them immediately. The Christmas boxes this year is a fantastic one. It's full of fantastic resources. There are three books in there that are all, I think, powerful resources. Hello Daily Audio Bible, this is Duane from Wisconsin. All praise and glory for our wonderful Lord and Savior whose graciousness and compassion and loving __ is Jesus Christ. I’m calling in today because Sharon who calls herself the Victorious called in today to give us the sad news that her daughter committed suicide. Sharon, we want to lift you and your daughter and your family and your grandson up. Lord, Sharon called her daughter an angel, that’s who she is, she’s an angel Lord. We ask that You wrap Your loving arms around her and her grandson. We ask that You give peace and understanding in this difficult time Lord. We need Your strength. We need Your understanding. We ask for peace. We ask that You give us comfort in this time Lord. Be with the family. Give them strength to endure this. And let Sharon know…let her know that she is victorious, that she will be victorious with Your help, with Your guidance, and with Your understanding. Victorious, we lift you up. We wrap our loving arms around you. We give you a hug. We hold you. More importantly, God holds you. Where there for you Sharon. We’ll continue to pray for you and for your grandson and for your family. We lift this all up to our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Father, I pray for Steve from Texas. Father, you know everything that he’s going through and I just lift him up to you asking that you would bless him in every area of his life Father. Remind him oh God that you are still on the throne and prayer changes things. In the name of Jesus and Steve, receive everything that God has for you. I love you very much and I’m praying for you. Blessings to you and your family. Jocelyn in Atlanta, that’s a very good idea to pray for those people who are incarcerated. And Father in the name of Jesus I just pray for all of the people who are listening and cannot call in to the Daily Audio Bible. But you know Lord, you hear them and you are right there with them. Regardless of the situation and circumstances Father, you love them unconditionally. If you’re listening right now I want you to know that God has a plan and future for your life. Even though you may feel trapped, remember that God’s Holy Spirit will comfort you and help you to be a great witness for the people who you are with. We praying for restoration with your family and we want you to know that we’re thinking of the in knowing how difficult it might be not to be able to be with your family. I will light a candle for each one of you and I will invite all my Christian brothers and sisters to do so as well.
Hi everybody, it’s Margo from Australia. I’m just calling to ask for prayer today. We had something really difficult happen last night with one of our sons. I can’t really go into any detail, I’m sorry. It’s just that my son is an extremely private person. So, I can’t risk sort of sharing anything but it’s just really knocked the wind out of our sails and to be honest I’m really, really upset about it. Yeah, we are right in the thick of preparations for our move with MIF to Liberia and I just like literally resigned from my job at work and I just had my last day of work on Friday and we are organizing shipping and I’m still working on some ministry partnerships and sorting out a house and lots and lots of stuff going on. And I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed. And yeah, this is…awe….it has really upset me. And the first thing I thought was I need to get my DAB family to pray. So, without giving details, would you pray that the Lord would work mightily in this situation and that God would turn something into good that Satan intended for evil and that my son would end up with a mighty testimony from this and that the Lord would heal him in whatever way he needs healing. Thank you with all of my heart. I’m so grateful. I love you all very much. Bye for now.
My name is Terry Jane, I’m a first-time caller from Missouri and I’m calling in December the 4th today. And I was calling in to give him encouragement and the prayer over Jordan, she was from Georgia. She called in I think yesterday, on the third. Her adopted sister had left, and she was brokenhearted. She’s gone through __and sickness. And Jordan I just wanted to tell you I do care so much that you lost yyou horse. And I know that pets and animals can become part of our family __. So, I want to encourage you that God your heavenly Father cares about you, He knows every detail about you. Even before you were formed in your mother’s womb, He knows you. And He is ordering the very best for your life. And even though that is a hard time, I want you to be encouraged to continue to believe that all things work for our good. Sometimes it’s not easy to recognize when we’re going through our situation. My prayer for you is that you begin to be thankful with everything. And I just pray a blessing over you right now and that you will be encouraged and feel the arms of Jesus embracing around you. And I thank You for this life Lord and I pray that You will lift her up carry her as she’s going through this time right now. I thank You for Daily Audio and this opportunity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Genesis 37:1-38:30 ~ Matthew 12:22-45 ~ Psalm 16:1-11 ~ Proverbs 3:27-32
Today is the 18th of January. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is great to be here with you and great to take the next step forward. We’ve been traveling with Jacob and now we’re going to move into his son Joseph's story. As we move through the story of Joseph, we find a lot of connection points to our own lives. So we begin, Genesis chapter 37, verse 1 through 38, verse 30 today. We’re reading from the New International Version this week.
Commentary
Think of the person in your life that you trust the most, the person that is closest to you, that you trust the most. Then think of a person that at this point in time you don’t have a whole lot of respect for, that you don’t trust the most. What are the differences between the two? Probably loyalty, consistency, honesty, truth. Probably time. The one you trust the most you’ve probably got some miles with. You’ve probably been through some ups and downs, some hills and valleys and mountaintops and maybe even deep deserts together. It is probably reciprocal. You’ve probably been there for each other, while the other person, maybe the one you struggle with or don’t have a lot of respect or confidence in has been the opposite of that in one way or another. What we’re describing is relationship. The person that is close to you, the person that you trust, they have your ear, you have theirs, you have confidence in each other and you can take them into your confidence. You can tell them deeper things that are going on that you’re thinking, that you’re working through, that you’re trying to process. You have this person and you can bring them into your confidence because you trust in them.
When I asked the question just a second ago, bring that person to mind, some of you may have brought God even to mind, God is the only one you can truly trust. We have to understand that is also a reciprocal thing. Relationships are shaped so that there is give and take. So a relationship with God is not a one-sided thing where we’re doing all the asking and all the receiving and all of the talking and we’re dominating the whole thing. That is not a healthy relationship.
According to the proverb today, the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence, which means God trusts the upright and brings them near into his confidence. This lets us know that this faith journey is not just the act of putting our trust in God and trying to walk with him but also that we are trustworthy with him, that he can put his trust in us. It is not enough to just go to church and sing songs about how we’re friends of God and he's awesome and beats up the bad guys for us. This is about being in life together daily with a loyalty and allegiance that we would expect of the very, very closest person to us.
If we want to be the friend of God, then we have to be a friend, somebody who is trustworthy and loyal to God. We have to know that he is trustworthy and loyal to us. This is what relationships look like and this is what is available to us. May we live our lives in such a way that the Lord can take us into his confidence because this is what our hearts long for. If we’ll examine our lives, we’ll see that this person that we talked about at the beginning, this one that is closest to us, the one that we trust the most in the world, if they acted toward us the way that we conduct ourselves in this relationship with God sometimes, they wouldn’t be as trusted as they are. So are we upright? Are we true before God? Can he take us into his confidence? Are we a true friend of God? Looking in the mirror of that idea should explain a lot to us about the trajectory and shape of our lives.
Prayer
Father, we invite your Holy Spirit into that because this is our desire, that we are your friend, that you can take us into your confidence, that we can walk through this life with a confidence and loyalty and trueness that we haven’t experienced, and yet the invitation is there. It's not you who has withheld yourself from us. It's we who have withheld ourselves from you. So we invite your Holy Spirit into that. Bring up those areas that we have kept off-limits and those areas where secrets are being kept and we’re not being loyal and true. Come Holy Spirit, we pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Community Prayer Requests and Praise Reports
Hi everyone on the Daily Audio Bible. This is Nicki from Florida and I'm calling specifically for Dorcas from New York. Dorcas, I would love to connect with you. I am also totally blind. Maybe I can help. Maybe I can be there. Maybe I can be a friend. I don’t know, but I have been totally blind my whole life and I also know of all of the technology. I work for a company that makes some of it and so maybe I can give you some help. I don’t know, but Dorcas, I feel for you, Sister. I'm sorry you don’t have a lot of help. This must be a very hard road for you, but I would love to connect with you. I would love to pray with you. I would love to help you and be there for you. You can email me. My email address is [email protected]. I would really love to hear from you. My heart aches for you. I feel for you and I'm so sorry for what you’re going through with your work and everything else, but know that you're not alone. So in any case, again, this is Nicki from Florida. I would love to hear from you or anyone. I'm praying and listening to everything and I'm loving the Bible. I'm on Facebook as well and I'm on the DAB Friends group. Anyway, thank you to everyone and to Brian and Jill. Again, Dorcas, I would love…
This is Christine with a barking dog and I'm calling in specifically for Becky. Becky, I’ve been listening to you. I feel like I have a friendship with you way back from when you were Becky from Norway. And now I think you are Becky from Philadelphia. I wanted to thank you that you called in the other day. It was a sad day for you. It was your birthday and I appreciate your calling and being vulnerable and showing us all that we all have good and bad days. And yet you were so encouraging. Your voice is always so encouraging and such a welcome thing to listen to. That was one day when you needed support from some of us. So thank you for showing all of us that God is faithful and God allows us to have highs and lows but that you called in both to encourage and just sincerely ask for help. God bless you, Becky, and I hope today is a better day and I hope this year to come is blessed.
Happy New Year, Daily Audio Bible family! I am thanking God for all of the things that he has planned coming into 2017. Thank you to all the new listeners. I promise that you will not regret becoming a part of this amazing ministry. On that note, I just listened to January 14th and know that Brian Hardin and his brother have lost their mother. There are no words to say what I want to convey to you, Brian and your family, but knowing the man that you are and that you have been going on these 12 years being a part of the DAB community, I know that God is with you and you are with him. I know that your family is going through a trying time, but as you keep saying about margin, that definitely is going to come into play here. I appreciate so much that you didn’t take a day for yourself or a week for yourself as many of us probably would. Again, it just goes to show the testament of your dedication to this community and this family. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank God that your mom is now with him, rejoicing with him and I do believe that they are having the best party ever. Your mom and your dad are joined together and while everyone here that is left behind when loved ones pass, we do know that there is a day coming when we will all be together. I thank you. I thank the people behind the scenes. You have a wonderful partner in Jill. God definitely yoked the two of you together. He knew the reason and it just continues to inspire me to be a better wife, a better person and a better Christian. I love you, DAB family. Cheers! Asia from Munich.
Hello, this is Heather from Louisiana, a 3-year Dabber but first-time caller. I am one of the residents from Louisiana that lost their home, personal belongings and vehicles in the flood of August 2016. Received about 4 feet of water through our home. It is now January and the progress on our home is minimal and it just seems everyone is backed up and in this predicament. My family of four and my brother are sharing space with other family members as we all flooded, and I'm just kind of reaching out to God individually on my own and decided this week it's time to reach out to my DAB family and ask you guys to pray for us also, not only myself, but my community and neighbors. So many of us are displaced and although you might not see it, we’re struggling down here in Louisiana and we just ask that you give God your prayers to strengthen our laborers here to move expeditiously and get us back home. We just want to go back home. I know there is nothing impossible for God. I’ve seen some great miracles through our community and just hope that maybe this time you could help us see a miracle down here in Louisiana. Thank you.
Hi family. This is Biola from Maryland. I hope you're all doing well. Brian and Jill, God bless you. Dorcas from New York, Sister, I prayed for you through the night. I was so moved by your cry for help. You know what occurred to me, Sister? If you read Matthew 20 and Mark 10, these two chapters in the Bible are really important because this is where Blind Bartimaeus and two blind men cried out to Jesus. They cried out with all their might and even when people told them to shut-up they cried out louder. And you know what touched me? The Bible says Jesus stood still. When he heard their cries, he stood still and then he called them to himself and healed them. Sister, as you have cried out to Jesus, in the name of Jesus, he will come to your aid. I pray right now that your son who is isolated from you will begin to move closer. I pray that as the word of God has said that he will encompass us with favor and with his shield, Sister, the Lord will encompass you with favor and with his shield, so much so that people who do not even know you will go out of their way to satisfy you with favor, in the name of Jesus. That the Lord will provide for you, that he will bring people around you to support you and help you, you’ll no longer feel lonely. If you’re not plugged into a local body, the church of Christ, I pray that you will find a good church to plug yourself into so that you can have people that will surround you. God bless you, my sister. I will keep praying for you. Becky from Ohio, I'm thanking God for his protection and deliverance for your son. What an awesome testimony. Our God is a good God. Lisa, I'm praying that God would comfort you and restore all that you’ve lost. I pray for favor with your insurance company, that they will approve full replacement for you and I pray, Sister, that God would give you double for your trouble, in the name of Jesus. God bless you.
Hey Brian. This is Byron out in Florida. On Saturday I went to go play the podcast and for some reason it wouldn’t play. I just keep tapping and tapping the play button and it wouldn’t play at all, so I just restarted my podcast app and I tried it again and it started to play, but I couldn’t hear anything. I could see the numbers moving, but there was no sound or it was very low. I spent a while just fussing with it, trying to get it to work out, and finally, almost about a minute into the podcast, I got the sound working. And just the timbre of your voice created a reflective thought in me, ‘oh no, his mom is gone.’ And I zipped back to the beginning of the podcast to see if it wasn’t so. Brian, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm so sorry. You are our leader in this community and it seems that through the trials and tribulations of your life, you are emboldened to be brought ever closer to God and you bring us closer to him too. Through the travail of Ezekiel's birth, when your eyes got scratched up in Israel, when you broke your foot in that car accident, and through all the losses that you’ve had in the last year, your constancy in the word of God has taught us that it needs to be constant in our lives too. I'm looking forward to the day when I can say to your mom and your dad, to their face, thank you for living the lives that they did because it has changed my life and the lives of my family. I love you, Brian, and I’ll be waiting to hear you tomorrow.
Hi, my name is Jessica. I'm calling from Pennsylvania, first-time caller, but I’ve been listening on and off for about five years. I'm calling because my husband wants to go to church and things have not been going well. We’ve been really hurt by some of the leaders there and I'm just ready to give up. I know God has called us to church ministry, but it is really hard to get through some of the hurt and move toward forgiveness, especially when it seems like the other side doesn’t want to reconcile. He has a meeting with some of the leaders on Friday that I think will be kind of pivotal in our decisions for next steps. I ask you to pray for him and the leaders as they meet together and for our family of faith to decide what to do next. Thanks family. Bye.
Hello fellow Dabbers. This is the 11th of January. I just listened to all the prayer requests and the Holy Spirit led me to share this with you. I am Studious Workman in Beaverton, OR. Hear my prayer, O Lord. Give ear to my pleas for mercy. In your faithfulness answer me. In your righteousness enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you. For the enemy has pursued my soul. He has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me sit in darkness like those long dead. Therefore, my spirit faints within me. My heart within me is appalled. I remember the days of old. I meditate on all that you have done. I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you like the parched and. Answer me quickly, O Lord. My spirit fails. Hide not your face from me lest I be like those who go down to the pit. Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord. I have fled to you for refuge. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on level ground, For your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life. In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble and in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.
