One thing that really pisses me off in fandoms is when I’ll ship a rare pair and finally I’ll find content for it, only to go to the comments and see shit like “where’s my *insert super popular mainstream ship involving one of the characters here* content at?🥺” bitch literally everywhere else in this fandom, go enjoy that and let me enjoy the few bits of content I have🙄🙄
#before anyone tries to attack me obviously there’s nothing wrong with shipping popular ships#they’re popular for a reason and a lot of my fav ships are super popular too#I’m just talking about people like this specifically#unless people are asking what ships they should make content for don’t tell them what ship they should make content for#this should be common sense and basic shipping etiquette people!!!#sanders sides#mha#bnha#danganronpa#shipping#multishipper moment#tw cursing#fandom#fandom issue#Bungo stray dogs#bsd

Ok so I was there last night when both things went down. It’s kinda long so I apologize in advance 😅
It was all kinda interconnected but also separate which will make sense in a moment. But The 911bts stuff was from the BT fandom
A crew member had posted during the day yesterday a photo of an Air Force hanger that he was scouting to film something in, and the photo was clearly labeled in Ontario International Airport. Now the crew member does typically work mostly for 911 during the seasons while they are going BUT he does work for other shows as well sometimes so it’s unclear if this was for 911 or another show, and it was unclear if it was Ontario in California or in Canada. So 911bts did not share it since she wasn’t 100 percent sure it had anything to do with the show. Which pretty normal for her. Now the BT fandom though got wind of the photo and immediately decided it was a sign of the coming of Tommy Kinard and then immediately started attacked 911bts for not sharing it even though she has shared things from this crew member before, and started to say she’s clearly no longer a neutral source and that she was purposefully not sharing the photo because it proves Tommy is there and she doesn’t want to admit it. Basically a conspiracy against the Tommy fans. This was mostly spearheaded by the typical main few hardcore BT fans, including the one who tried the whole fake contract thing yesterday but Naturally it wasn’t a conspiracy at all (shocker I know) and 911bts even posted explaining why they haven’t shared it yet or why they might not share a post at all (can’t confirm it’s for the show, they don’t always post every single thing because then we’d end up with 10 photos or videos of the same thing, it adds nothing new for the show, etc) and how none of this is new behavior for her. And she wants nothing to do with the ship war and to leave her out of it basically. And it goes for both sides. Some took her message and moved on and others (mostly on twitter) ignored it and continued going after her and it spiraled into a thing on twitter with buddie fans defending her etc.
Now as for the comments left on the crew post. This is where it was interconnected but separate. Interconnected because it was unfortunately the same crew members photo from above 😅
but it was a thing from both sides. A new BT fan reshared his post and didn’t remove the crew members username or anything and a new Buddie fan left a comment on it about their dislike of Tommy and wanting to know if the photo was for 911, and about Tommy or if Tommy was gone. Both eventually got a tiny, tiny pass because they are new to the show and fandom so “they didn’t know better” but at the same time let’s all have some common sense and basic etiquette for these types of things going forward. Anyways, Now the crew member responded that essentially part of being the crew for the shows and posting means he can’t give away plot related information so he couldn’t/wouldn’t give an actual answer. But this incident also turned into a thing because neither action is ok. And both sides went after the other over them because Like the BT fan should have made sure to remove the crew members information because we typically don’t show it to make sure they don’t get in trouble since we don’t know what might happen to them for sharing certain things etc and the buddie fan shouldn’t be leaving comments on their stuff about personal dislikes and trying to get essentially plot spoilers etc.
Eventually 911bts also found out about that incident and also made a post(s) essentially saying leave the crew alone and don’t post comments like that on their stuff and to make sure if you are sharing their stuff then remove their information first.
And that’s what happened last night 🫠
Thank you for taking the time to explain Nonny. I appreciate it.
While reading your explanation, I kept going like this: 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
We as a fandom need to be better than this.
Leave the crew alone. They are just doing their job. Don't just post their information for everyone to find
If you do come across a crew post and you want to comment on their posts, make it something positive. Tell them how much you appreciate their hard work. Show them some respect. But keep fandom sh*t and shipping away from them.
Being polite and respectful will always get you further in life than hating, shouting or yelling.
Keep this in mind and do better.

byi/rules!!
1.) BASIC DNI CRITERIA
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
2.) Anti-Proship
Loving reminder that proship means that you don’t harass people over fiction. It’s only a stance on harassment and censorship, and it doesn’t mean you have to like what I do or that I personally approve and enjoy what everyone else does! Quote from fanlore:
"The pro in pro-shipper means for, to contrast with the anti in anti-shipper (anti meaning against). However, possibly due to Fannish Osmosis, in some parts of fandom, the pro in pro-shipper has come to be understood as short for problematic instead.[5][6][7][8] Due to this new definition, many fans (mainly on Twitter) started to insert proshippers in their DNI lists because they do not want any type of contact with problematic ships These fans may also use the term "proship" as a noun to refer to the problematic ship that the proshipper allegedly supports. Others have incorrectly osmosed the word proshipper to be synonymous with pedophile."
So like. Yeah! Dances around. I don't fw most "problematic ships" but I just need pookies to know the actual definition of the term they are using before they start rallying hate mobs.
Fiction DOES affect reality, and you should be aware enough of that to cultivate your own online experience and use the function of blocking/filtering tags, blocking people, and your own common sense to make sure that you stay safe and everyone has fun!!
(Also if ppl block me bc they misunderstood I will scream and wail and sob /lh, DM/toss an ask if you have any questions!!)
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
3.) If you can't follow the Three Laws of Fandom/think Dark Media/Dead Dove: Do not Eat/Whump/Yandere enjoyers are normalizing what they are writing about, also shoo. Not the place for you.
I feel like this explains itself, esp since I kinda talked about it above. Please cultivate and foster the online experience you want, follow proper online social etiquette, and realize that just because I find Shaiapouf attractive doesn't mean I want him to gut and eat me in real life. (Most likely. Probably. Maybe. If he asks REALLY nicely and bats his little boytwink lashes and gayass wings /sillyj)
4.) Do NOT compare me with other writers.
They are them and I am me and we both deserve our own little gold sticker stuck to our forehead! I think it's important everyone gets the recognition they deserve and I've been inspired by SOSO many writers on here, so make sure to go send support where deserved!
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
WILL WRITE:
JJK, KNY, MHA, GI/HSR, HxH!! Mostly Phantom Troupe + Harbingers + Sampo + Satoru and Suguru + Shouta and Hizashi but like. Throw some crumbs through the tray slot, if I'm interested I will respond.
Yandere/Dark Fiction, reader-inserts, minor character death, non-con/dub-con slash hesitant? (doubtful of my writing skills to bring that justice), body horror/gore, dr**ging, etc...... idk I wanna flap my gay little wings and see whatever horrific shit I come up with /lh
WILL NOT DO:
Detailed pregnancy. I just can't man I don't want kids get those little HEATHENS OUTTA THERE!! I'll consider asks about it/drabbles but don't expect like an entire oneshot about it unless a hybrid AU takes me into a fucking chokehold. Then I might be doomed!
OCs, detailed requests, character/character requests (I can't say character/character as a whole I can feel Satosugu + the other homosexuals beaming lasers into the back of my head), oooomegaverse? Hybrids are neat-o to me but. I think I have Omegaverse PTSD I'll be real, come back when there's a more stable system/lore and less breeding.
SELF-HARM/SUICIDE IS A NO-GO!! Idk not only is it not fun for the reader/mc to just fucking. Croak. Self-harm is just not the way for me I don't think!! I MIIIGHHHT consider it but really don't get any hopes up.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW TO TAG SOMETHING IF IT IS TRIGGERING!! I WILL NOT BE MAD I AM JUST VERY FORGETFUL!! Idm if you ask tbh it honestly helps me find my own stuff once I go back, so win for everyone.

hey there! ^_^ what are the rules if we want to join the rp?
I mean, I'm not really in charge of the RP or anything? It just sort of sprung up naturally. Anyone can hop in if they feel like it.
So I guess... just follow basic RP etiquette. Set and respect boundaries, don't dictate other people's characters for them, and so on.
My only "special" request would be to keep genuine dsmp lore discourse to a lighthearted context. Like, making a joke about exiling everyone who ships X is fine, but a serious talk about why X is wrong and bad would be out of place. And if a topic truly upsets or angers you, you should probably avoid bringing it up in RP altogether.
Just use your common sense and remember this is all meant to be good fun between friends.
#keep in mind that this particular rp is very disorganized. like. i didn't plan ANY of this out lol#and different people are bound to have different limits and different degrees to which they're committing to the bit#if you're ever unsure what somebody is comfortable with there's no shame in asking#anyway. i'm glad you're enjoying this :)#asks

Food Fantasy: An Analysis on what killed a Golden Goose (3/3)
Ladies and gentlemen, we've arrived at our final destination.
Again before we start, we have our obligatory disclaimers. I do not own the game or its characters, nor do I claim to know the true history and likely fate of this game. I am entitled to the thoughts and opinions written within this post. Feel free to agree or disagree with the points being made.
This post also remains untagged from the main foofan tag. Only my followers will see this.
We are in the third and final stretch, and the checkpoint is past the cut.
Community
So... here we are, fellow Master Attendants.
As consumers of this piece of entertainment media, we are free to enjoy it however we wish. Appreciating what is there, creating something new from what exists, playing the game by the meta or however you want to play it (within your means and at your own risk of course). There's no one true and absolute way to experience the game.
However, just as you can enjoy something, doesn't mean you can't also point out flaws or shortcomings of the media in question. As an active veteran player, I've already pointed out the many gameplay design flaws already. And I'd be pretty dumb to say that Food Fantasy's writing is perfect. Hell, it has a lot of holes from a worldbuilding consistency standpoint.
And what of things from the community side? Yes, there will be times you'd see content you consider cringe, or something in fanon you don't agree with. Or there happens to be fan theories and fangirling posts you don't like the take of because of X or Y.
And that's fine. If we all happen to play the same way, like the same thing, agree on the same thing and produce the same thing, well, this would be one helluva boring community, wouldn't it?
But what if someone decides the way you're playing the game is wrong and harasses you over it? What happens if someone decides that their interpretation of the game's flavor text and lore is more important than what anyone else thought about it? What happens if someone decides that they're absolutely right, and you and everyone else who disagrees deserves to be bullied out of the fandom?
As much as I want to say we aren't part of the problem why the game is deteriorating, we are unfortunately, part of the reason why the game is as such even if most of the blame is directed towards Funtoy and Elex themselves.
⦁ Whale Authority. Whales will always be part of a gacha game's ecosystem. Without them, the game won't be able to maintain its upkeep costs, moreso for one that services global regions instead of just one. But when a game decides to cater its decisions of what features should be prioritized and when it should be launched around only its most elite paying players' voices -even if that influence has since tapered off-, you know there is something wrong with the publisher's management team and priorities.
⦁ Interguild drama. While I did not personally follow any of this, this has certainly been the peak of in-game tension back in the day. Poaching good players from both competitive and smaller guilds, guild mergers that often ended up making the annexed guild/s the equivalent of UK colonized India or Australia, suck-ups chummying up to guild leaders to keep a spot in an active, high ranking guild (for bragging rights!) despite never contributing much to overall damage, and just general dislike of certain players' attitudes. Actions like this have disillusioned many players about their playing experience and the reason why many eventually just lost the motivation to log into FooFan.
⦁ Cheaters. You know very well about the Hacker-teme I've mentioned before, but that was in context of Elex being incompetent with dealing with them. Here, I would like to point out the players who are desperate to dominate the playing field for whatever reason to the point that they would resort to cheating the ranks with forceful modifications of the APK. Whether it is to rank high in catacombs weekly, get a top spot in daily disaster damage, or weasel their way into the competitive whale ranks of a major ranking event, these are the people who have no qualms messing with the code to give themselves an easier time with the game. And if they're caught? Some pretend that they've made a mistake, some quickly sell the account to escape the blame, some others just scamper away into the dark and hide in the lower ranks where they can't be found. Others simply don't care and keep cheating until Elex decides to finally ban them... if Elex ever decides their rebates score isn't worth saving the account.
⦁ Ship wars. Ah yes, a staple of drama in any fandom. There doesn't need much explanation to this as we've all had our fair share of running into a battleground in whatever fandom we visit. Someone ships BB52 wholeheartedly? Nope, problematic 'age gaps'. Someone likes Napoleon with Pastel? Someone's bound to misinterpret their bios in order to justify that Napoleon was being abusive. Spaghetti and Borscht? Borscht is minor coded, ship her with Vodka instead. Whiskey and Pizza or Cassata? Cancelled! And I've never heard of the Foe Yay trope or pretend I don't know about it! Rarepairs? Disgusting! No fanon in my canon playground! Turkey and Eggnog? Gasp! How dare you, you pedo-shipper-even-though-you-never-said-you-shipped-them-romantically-but-that-isn't-my-point!
⦁ Character Obsession: Bias. On one hand, you love a character so much. Relate to a character so much. You have thus pulled this character into the folds of your bosom and coo at them like a mother dove and get so minutely triggered if someone so much as makes one disagreeable or joking comment about the character that you fly into an overreactive ballistic rage that would make a Canadian goose honk in fear. You don't care what they are in canon. You don't care about the possibility of mistranslation. What matters is the fanon space you carved out for them to exist in and that's all that matters. The problem with this is when this obsession takes over common sense and social etiquette and it steps into harassment territory. You begin to think: I'm the only one who 'understands' the character. I'm the only one who wishes better for the character, everyone else is out to defame them! Oh wait, you like them too? Do you like them the way *I* like them? No? Maybe if you're my 'friend', I'd let it slide. But to everyone else? No one else has the right to like them as much as I do. No one! Never mind that they're completely fictional- No one hurts my bias because in turn, they're hurting *me*!
⦁ Character Obsession: Anti. On the other hand, you hate a character so much. This character just makes you see so much red. Their smug little smirk just makes your blood boil. Their fictional backstory makes you recoil in disgust. You hate that someone else loves a character you hate so much. You cannot *believe* that someone could be so daringly stupid to like a problematic character. They must be problematic too then. They must be hiding real life secrets that are problematic! Yes, yes. That's right. That person's a supporter of abuse. That person's into pedophilia. That person is into military lolita fashion that Japan started the trend of but clearly Japan was part of the Axis Powers! And that... that person... that person... is a roleplayer and a yaoi fangirl properly interacting with minors and adults. How dare they...!
⦁ Fan Translations. Normally it wouldn't be a problem that a group or two or several are translating pieces of the game's lore ahead of the official. But with Elex's very delayed translations and extreme allergic reactions to translating Food Soul bios, people have become dependent on fan-translation groups to get their fix. The problem herein lies... is when the translators get drunk off the power that they are one of a handful in a small community who can magically transcribe the oriental moonrunes into English. The problem starts when the translator starts to have an inclination. The problem starts when the translator loses their professional detachment and start adding in details here and there into the fan translated product that ultimately changes the meaning and direction of the entire story. The problem is also escalated when that translator's embellished product is touted as the truth by their followers. If there was an upcoming character whose backstory is connected to a character they hated (either because of someone or they just don't like the character) and you were hoping to read the fan translation? How would you know that what you get isn't something doctored to the point it's basically fanfiction?
⦁ Social Justice Vigilantism. Sometimes someone does not have a character obsession or need it to be annoying. Sometimes, someone just wants to ring the alarm over something they find 'problematic' in order to police and sanitize the enjoyment of the media for 'everyone'. They no longer really take enjoyment out of a new Food Soul design being leaked, they no longer read the lore just to enjoy what it has to offer. Instead, they nitpick bits and pieces of the design and point it out repeatedly as a reason why the whole thing is bad. They point out bits of the story and inject their interpretations of it without really comprehending what they've read in full and react badly to it. What's worse is that they have no qualms publicly posting their reactions and eagerly and hungrily await those likes and echoes of agreement that they were right.
⦁ Circles of Influence. Everyone has a group they eventually gravitate to in a fandom. It comes with its own pros and cons. Sometimes you join a group because someone you admire is in there, sometimes you join a group because you just want to mingle and see more content. All valid reasons. Arguments can't be avoided in a group, it has to happen... But you have to take care. You have to take care to feel the change in the air of the group. When someone starts pushing people to agree with them. When your most admired people start to feel overly sensitive about certain characters or issues. When you start to feel obligated to spy on other groups outside of this one for 'nonbelievers', 'traitors' and 'heretics' who do not think the way this group does, and that bringing back bits and pieces of gossip as offerings would somehow make you more favored in the eyes of the inner clique or remain inside it. There is a gripping sense of annoyance when that person comes in to complain but you can't do anything about it but nod and agree. There is a pervading sense of fear and apprehension of overstepping an invisible boundary. There is fear that you might be next on the chopping block, after witnessing one of the others being ganged up on and thrown out without a second thought, their name spat upon like they're worth less than dirt. And so reluctant you are to give up what you have with them that when they push you to do something you are reluctant to do, all in the name of 'harmony and justice'... You do it. Even though it would mean offering yourself up to the mob with no salvation, and the stark realization that... [they] never cared about you as a friend.
And we've come to the end of this analysis trilogy. The writing got a little bit strange in this post, but honestly this is the best way I could put it. I'm aware things can and will be more complicated than the bullet points I've written but I'm just one person and I tried very hard to keep details of all the drama that happened in this fandom as vague as possible. Of course, that wouldn't work if you know what I am talking about.
The community is quiet now for the most part, the game is somewhere between limbo and the living plane. Things could be better for us, but I don't really count on it.
I wish I could leave a bit of a moral warning or something. But rather than do that, I just hope this was an entertaining read into one individual's eyes into Food Fantasy and everything that makes it up.

SHIPPING INFO // answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. don’t reblog.
WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?: I don’t typically tend to have OTPs that are not canon; I don’t spontaneously ship characters on a show that are not an actual canon pairing, even less so when there is no sign of them being the possibility of a pairing. I would say there are fandom-made ships whose aesthetics and possible dynamics I gravitate towards, or that I can see making sense, more than proper OTPs (because part of me also appreciates seeing platonic relationships, blame my lil aroace heart that doesn’t see enough well-developed, important friendships, for instance - doesn’t stop me from loving fanarts and pairings I stumble upon or am introduced to, like Mikasasha or Berusasha!). For Sasha specifically, Sasha & Niccolo is the main one, precisely because it is canon and makes complete sense - there really is no better match for Sasha than a cook, and the fact that he is a Marleyan doubles down on the Braus’ themes of tolerance and open-mindedness. And of course, I have my ultimate BROTPs, namely the trio Sasha & Connie & Jean, and Mikasa & Sasha & Historia. Bffs and roommates Sasha & Mikasa. And since the train track episode, Sasha & Armin.
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?: Pretty much anything goes! Except non-consensual stuff, abuse, things such as incest, paedophilia etc - nobody can ever convince me to include that in any ship whatsoever. I rp to have a good time and be full of feels, I love me a good angst, but those things I would not consider good angst. What I’m willing to rp includes pretty much anything else: fluffy ships, angsty ships, soft ships, tragedy, fun stuff, evolution from friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and all and any nuance that we can think of. I like variety in my ships! And I like to go deep into the development, so the upside is, if you choose to ship with me, you will always have a partner willing to discuss the relationship at length and imagine all the details of it all, and start ten different threads (note that this goes with platonic ships too - friendships, family, etc). The possible downside you may find, depending on your own preferences, is that it takes me a little while to find my footing, and I like to put in the time to find the right tone so that the ship doesn’t just... jump out of the blue, if that makes sense? And sometimes I wonder if it may deter people or make them think I’m not as enthusiastic or involved in the ship, when in reality it’s the opposite. Shipping on tumblr also feels very different from my experience of shipping on a forum, where it’s all about long-term development and commitment, and where I’ve had the same three ship partners for three years now, so maybe I need to adjust to the more ephemeral format of tumblr too. (what do you mean I completely derailed from the original question?)
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?: I absolutely will not rp a ship where one character is a minor and the other is not. When it comes to AoT, I also will not ship Sasha with anyone who is already an adult when she is still a Cadet, including post-timeskip - for instance, I will not ship Sasha with a Levi, even when she is an adult. It just doesn’t sit right with me.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?: Aye I am. I’ve never shipped a lot (I’m pretty sure this blog is where I’ve shipped the most, ever), partly due to being selective, partly due to not necessarily being very good at understanding the tumblr shipping etiquette because I’m a wee bit of a simpleton. But basically, I will not ship unless I have talked ooc with the mun of the other muse, and we’ve had a few interactions pointing towards compatibility of writing styles and personalities. I just want to get along with the people I ship with and enjoy their writing, and hopefully that they enjoy my writing too and want to interact regularly too! (what’s the point in shipping, otherwise) (or interacting at all, for that matter!)
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS.FW?: Eeeeeeh clothes go off and/or mentions are made of what happens below the belt? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ time to whip out that nsfw tag. WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?: As of the writing of this post, Sasha is shipped with free-us‘s Niccolo, gerichteter‘s Bertholdt, and libartes‘ Porco (you should check out their blogs, they’re awesome muns and muses). All three are very different ships in nature, which is always my main concern when shipping with multiple muses, so I am very grateful to them for writing those stories with me, building these relationships, and exploring very different dynamics that I find super compelling to write! DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?: Yes please, though I believe this has become common standard in the rp community, so, yay! HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?: I love shipping, but I would rather have fewer ships that I have the chance to explore and develop in depth, through ooc talk and ic interactions and threads, than have many ships and not get to write them or very little. The interest of a ship, for me, lies in development. I also need balance with other kinds of ships (friendships etc), so all of you out there writing intricate friendships and other relationships with me, know that you have my love and gratitude and that you keep this blog going and my heart happy. ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?: See answer above. I don’t know that I’m ship-obsessed, but I would say I’m ship-committed (good lord I hope I’m not scaring anyone away with this). And that goes for all kinds of relationships, not just romance! I’m always happy to trade headcanons and tailor our muses’ relationships, regardless of nature, so that it feels unique and can develop over time. Or just gush about our characters because if we’re threading/interacting, it means that I love them. (also platonic ships are awesome) ARE YOU MULTISHIP?: Yessir I am - though I do tend to ship with only one iteration of any given muse, because of my preference for variety I already touched upon. I don’t know that I would be interested in shipping with another Bertholdt as long as I’m shipping with Lani’s, for instance. Just a preference on my end, that absolutely does not constitute a requirement for my shipping partners - unless of course we decide to be exclusives, but that’s a different matter of etiquette.
WHAT IS ( ARE ) YOUR FAVORITE SHIP(S) IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?: Aaaaahfgdh Sasha & Niccolo, Reiner & Bertholdt (yeah, remember what I said about not shipping pairings that are not official? They’re the exception), Annie & Armin. Also Reiner & a good therapist, this man needs help.
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?: Write with me, see if you like what you read, and shoot me a message so that we can discuss it :)
TAGGED BY: a friend on a different platform! TAGGING: if you want to do it, say I tagged you!
#ooc; potato mun#i've had this in my drafts for a week and completely forgot about it oops#this is a lot of fun to think about#and the questions are geared towards romantic ships but pretty much everything i say there applies to friendships and other relationships to#i guess i just really like character development mate

A Non-Exhaustive and (In)Frequently Updated List of Resources I’ve Used while Writing MDZS/CQL/Untamed Fic
I did so much research for The Vermillion Ribbon that I decided to make a doc out of it. If I’m bored sometime (ha) I might go farther back through my google search history but for now this is MDZS specific and just what I used for TVR. I’ll try to update it periodically as I write other things, though, so it’ll get more complete.
In most cases, I go to Google and type in what I’m trying to find out. This might be a question - “were there barrels in ancient china - or it might be an idiom - “origin ‘barrels of fun’” - or it might definition - “define pusillanimity” or it might be that I’m trying to find out if a reference is appropriate - “china mosquitoes” was a search to make sure there were, in fact, mosquitoes in China. Each of these searches only take a few minutes at most but doing them can really enhance a narrative.
Here are some other examples of searches I used to get utterly random pieces of information I needed - all of these produced the results I was looking for:
domesticated geese in china
traditional shanghai food
history of sandpaper
traditional peaked hat china
how to help someone who is having a flashback
parts of a day bed
wang yibo height
shades of green
is dumbfoundment a word
bland chinese food
flowers native to eastern china
how were ancient chinese homes heated
does chinese hair tangle
when do gentians bloom
popular alcohol in hebei
how does baijiu taste
history of use sinkers for fishing
does rain damage silk
what are the dots in go called in chinese
perception of snakes in china
do people kneel or sit cross legged at chinese tables
history of our understanding of cancer
common bushes near tianjin
necrotization vs gangrene
chinese formal letter opener
I’m including these so you see...basically if an issue comes up while you’re writing, and you’re not sure...just check. The information is out there. Looking at it gives the FBI agent spying on all your internet usage something interesting to read!
General Writing Resources:
Behind the Name and Behind the Surname (https://www.behindthename.com/, https://surnames.behindthename.com/) - definitely more a resource for Western names but if you care about name origin and meaning, extremely handy.
Encyclopedia Britannica (https://www.britannica.com/) - I use it much less often than Wiki but it’s still helpful sometimes.
Google Image Search (https://www.google.com/imghp) - not sure what something looks like? GIS is your best friend. There’s no better way to make sure you write a compel a description than to actually look at the thing you’re trying to describe.
Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/) - if you’re writing about a real place, it’s always helpful to be able to look at it, especially on satellite or street view.
Google Translate (https://translate.google.com/) - should you rely on it? God, no. But if you just need something basic and you remember you might get garbage back, it can still be helpful.
Online Etymology Dictionary (https://www.etymonline.com/) - an excellent source for word origins, especially slang (like if you’re trying to figure out if a word or phrase is time period appropriate).
Onomatopoeias (http://onomatopoeialist.com/) - need just the right sound? Here you go.
Scrivener (https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/overview) - this is the only writing software I’ve ever used and while I honestly don’t use it for writing fanfiction (I just write in gdocs and wing it), I still support it and I use it to organize my research for original projects.
Thesaurus.com (https://www.thesaurus.com/) - my preferred thesaurus. I use a thesaurus constantly - both for synonyms and antonyms - while writing and find it infinitely more useful than, say, the lists of words I sometimes see circulating as rebloggable Tumblr posts. If you find a word you’re not sure of listed, always check the definition before using it.
Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page) - maybe I should be embarrassed by how often I rely on Wiki but fuck that, because Wiki is an invaluable source for random obscure information. On major topics it’s sometimes unreliable but on most historical matters aside from those that are most fraught (ie, the causes of the US Civil War) you can generally trust that the information is reliable, and if you need more information the included references can help a lot.

[For Mobile Users] Compiled Info
(everything in the links is re-posted here!)
Season 2 Information
Here we go again...
“Here we go again…”
Welcome back to Mixedverse!
The previous server ended awhile back, but due to prolonged interest in the AU and people wanting to do more for it, we’ve rebooted it! It’s a bit different now, though.
When we began the last server, most people didn’t really understand how things worked or exactly what was happening. Our biggest misunderstanding was assuming that MV (Mirrorverse) characters were being brought into the NV (Normalverse) world, rather then them both being merged into a middle ground.
Although that is still our official lore for this AU, we decided for the RP server we would go along with it! So…
For our AU, it’s the opposite of that.
The characters from the NV world have been sucked into the MV world, while going about their business. All you have to do to get there is blink.
Other Changes:
The most important changes have been to the application and muse receiving processes.
Applications for the most part have stayed the same, however there’s a new concept called muse lock that we’re using.
There are short periods where muses are unlocked. You may claim characters, trade characters with other people, and whatever else you wish to do with them during this time. However..
When you are muse locked you may not claim any new characters or obtain new characters in anyway. The only thing that you can still do is drop muses, however they may not be replaced with a new one until the next time that muses are unlocked.
Well, what are the times that muses are unlocked? What does that mean for joining?
Sadly, another thing that we’re going to be including is that you can only join while muses are unlocked. However, we will be accepting applications at any time! They’ll just only be approved once new muses can be taken. This also gives us time to look over everything and make sure that everyone has a fair shot at getting the muses that they want.
We are currently accepting applications!
The next time muses will be unlocked: July 1st - 4th 2019 ---------------------------
Mixedverse AU Information
Welcome to Mixedverse
Two verses merge, they’re similar but the people that reside in them are.. very different. And no one knows who’s who.
“Two verses merge, they’re similar but the people that reside in them are.. very different. And no one knows who’s who.”
Welcome to the Mixedverse AU! It’s a Mirrorverse AU where MV characters and normal characters (Normalverse) have been introduced to a similar, middle-ground verse.
At first, they might not notice anything at first. Maybe they only run into people from the same verse at first- But then, they notice that one of their friends is actually COMPLETELY abnormal. Slowly but surely they’ll eventually realize that something is wrong.
This is a good opportunity to explore different types of relationships! As well as have a slightly over-arching plot over the entire story.
Mirrorverse Info
Mirrorverse is an AU that was inspired by the Spookyfish episode of South Park, where a mirrored version of Stan, Kyle, and Cartman came into the world. It’s most commonly known where it was represented in a Kyman fanfic, as well as artwork from sleepyeule. You do not need to have read this fic.
The basic premise is that the characters are.. well, mirrored. That doesn’t mean they’re complete opposites, but some of their most important traits are removed. The best example of this is with Cartman. Mirrorverse Cartman has his general horrible and selfishness removed- Which leaves him kind, empathetic, but he’s still pretty gullible and manipulative like he is normally.
[Note; if anyone is shying away from taking an MV character because they either don’t know how a character would act or haven’t done it before- I suggest taking a muse you normally wouldn’t do since they’re going to be mirrored. As well as, ask for help if you’re having trouble at all.]
Normalverse Info
Normalverse is a weird thing to call it, but it’s basically just the canon world! The characters are just as you know them, and there’s nothing too big to note.
(Tumblr is ran by Teal)
-------------------------
Rules
Rules for the Discord group!
1. Have common decency. I’d prefer not to have multiple rules just telling you to be a chill person and respect people. No harassment, bullying, shaming people, etc. Just be reasonable, you don’t have to get along with everyone or be completely unconditionally nice, obviously, but be civil!
2. If you’re uncomfortable, tell someone. This goes hand in hand with the first thing, but if you have drama going on with someone, if you’re being harassed, or if you have a problem with someone, tell a mod or the owner. They’re there for a reason: to help you!
3. Stay in character. Keep in character, there will be a bit more lee-way for Mirrorverse characters than for Normalverse characters since they’re up to interpretation. There will still be standards for them, though, and expectations for how they should act in a mirrored sense. Relationships shouldn’t be changed entirely and characters shouldn’t have sporadic personality changes.
4. Whatever’s in the show is okay. South Park uses slurs constantly, is generally inappropriate and gross, and if you’ve watched the show then you should expect this. I’m completely up for helping people feel more comfortable if they do have things that really upset them, but I’d like to make it clear that I want people to be comfortable using what’s been aired on public television.
5. Minors are allowed. We’re more selective when it comes to people that are underage, but we do allow them! There’s no NSFW allowed, and be aware that some of the people you might interact with could be under 18.
6. Roleplay etiquette. Basically, follow the basic, more well-known roleplaying rules. No god-modding, auto-hitting, mary sues, self-inserts, match post length, try to keep from really small posts if you’re doing literate RP.
7. IC =/= OOC. If a character says something mean to a character in a roleplay, that’s from a character to another character. It’s not to you personally, and those things should be entirely independent of each other.
8. Please be active. If you know you have issues with activity, which is perfectly fine, please inform someone and try to take a role that’s not going to require you to be there constantly. IE, someone playing Stan and only being here once a week could be a problem, but someone playing a character like Pip or a kinder would be completely acceptable.
9. No ship drama. Please, don’t force-ship, don’t shame people for certain ships, for liking things, for not liking things. Shipping is really subjective and some people are different. However, on that note, pedophilic and incestuous ships aren’t accepted in this server in any respect.
10. Characters can die. Muses can be seriously injured and even killed! If a muse is killed, they will never be brought back.
11. Joining? To join the Discord server, submit an application to this Tumblr using the application. If you know someone that’s already in the server, it’s generally easier to get in.
We are accepting applications at all times!
We will be approving applications and letting people join the server through July 1st - 4th 2019.

How to Organize a Zine 101 #11
So far I talked about how to organize a zine (which is basically the title of this entire thing, mind you) but I’ve got a fair share of questions about being on the other side of the zine, namely as a contributor/applicant, so this installment is dedicated entirely to this.
How to Apply to a Zine and Common Contributor Etiquette
Application Process
I basically wrote about it here already but you’ll get a better rendition of the reply with some additions that I forgot back then.
Look for zines you actually would enjoy working on. You don’t want to force yourself to create something for a zine you actually don’t support in any way.
Make sure you actually fit the description of what contributors they are looking for. If it is a writers only zine, it doesn’t make sense to apply as an artist. If you are a minor, don’t apply to a 18+ zine. A cis person should not apply to a zine that wants to feature trans people only. You get the drill.
Check the zine for red flags. Here and here are some listed, and I would add a short list of my own down below. You don’t want to be scammed and neither do you want a hostile atmosphere while working on the zine.
Check the schedule. If you have other important deadlines etc. during the busiest part of the zine creation, you probably should sit out on this one. Same if you aren’t available due to traveling, moving, or the good ol’ family vacation. If you have a con to prepare it might prove difficult as well.
Don’t apply to too many zines. If your schedule is entirely free, you might think it’s good to apply to several zines with basically the same schedule. Writers oftentimes don’t struggle with this as much as artists simply because there aren’t that many slots for writers out there, but especially artists tend to put more on their plate than they can chew, which is an absolute hassle for zine mods. Always expect the worst case scenario: You get into all of the zines you applied to and then get a creative block or a slump. Add a week of sickness, and then, how many of the zines do you think you can complete? Having more than 2 zines going on at once can already be challenging, if you have a job and/or school/uni going on as well, you really should reconsider. You might be able to power through and draw this awesome picture within less than a day if you are at your best, but can you at your worst?
Have a solid portfolio that shows that you’re capable to do the job. We will talk about it later on.
The ~Red Flags~ for Zines
I already linked to two posts about red flags for zines you probably should avoid, here is my personal addition.
Is the language in their posts etc. off? Not serious at all - like 2000s chat/My Immortal language - might not take the project seriously as well. Rude/offensive - probably not the best to work with and might also turn away potential customers, plus not the best image to be affiliated with. Too vague - might not really know what they are doing/might not follow through with their project.
Are any of the affiliated people/mods self-proclaimed “antis”? Ship wars unfortunately are a thing these days, and especially antis tend to be self-righteous and downright threatening. They aren’t the best people to be around in a fandom and probably also not the easiest to work with, especially if you have opposing ideas. This probably is even the case although they are supportive of your OTP etc. Also not the kind of person you want to be affiliated with later on.
How much info is gerenally given? Are schedules open and visible, is it clear how (potential) profit might get distributed, are the mods not anonymous? How easily can you contact them (via e-mail, ask box, DMs etc.)? The less you know about a zine, the more vary you should be, especially if they already opened applications.
Do you get a weird feeling about them? If anything is feeling odd to you, trust your guts and don’t apply. In the end, you know what’s best for yourself, even if it’s just your unconsciousness. Trust yourself on that one.
Polished Portfolio
Every zine handles their applications a tad differently, but one thing they all want to know: are you capable of doing your job? Whether you draw, write, take photos, or create awesome cosplays, you definitely need a portfolio to apply. Not necessarily an online portfolio (though they are really handy to have) but a selected palette of your works that you like and consider your good average where you easily can pick 3-5 for your applications.
These few tips should help you finding what pieces you should include, and which you probably shouldn’t.
Make sure your chosen works show off your actual skill level. Show what you actually can create for the zine, guaranteed, and don’t put in your ‘lucky accidents.’ Use works that reflect what you know you can make.
Kick out everything that is older than 2-3 years. However good you think they are, I guarantee you, you won’t create something like you did 3 years ago.
Find pieces that fit the zine. If you usually write domestic fluff but apply to a horror zine, have a drabble to show off that you can also write in the horror genre. If you tend to draw a lot of faeries and romantic sceneries, show how you work street fashion if that’s the zine’s theme. If mods don’t get the vibe they are looking for in their zine, they most likely won’t take you, so try to fix that with the palette in your portfolio.
Ask the real big question: Am I skilled enough to already apply to zines? Let’s face it, some people get rejected because their skills aren’t developed enough yet. I don’t want to discourage you but this is definitely something you should consider. Think about what zines are, what they are about, and if you can get those things across with your works already, or if you need to practice to get to that level. Yes, you can try applying but prepare to get rejected, too. If you keep on getting rejected, you definitely should ponder over this question and start practicing to gain those skills that you’re currently still missing.
A thing that I thought about the last time I got rejected by a zine: Create the zine entry you would have done if they had taken you. It might hurt a bit to “work on a piece for a project you got rejected by” but I consider it a great practice. That way, you have more pieces you can put into your portfolio, get some practice for your skills either way, and can later compare it to what the actual contributors created. This can sometimes be eye-opening.
I know that a lot of artists struggle to find a portfolio website that suits their needs, so I decided to make a list of some services that I found out if you want to go beyond tumblr or deviantart - I didn’t try everything out, though. Most services have a paid and a free version so I’m sure everyone can find something for their needs. (The order in this list does not imply any sort of ranking.)

~Common Contributor Etiquette~
While mods need to keep themselves in check during interactions, it doesn’t mean that contributors are off the hook, either. A zine is like a carefully pieced together clockwork, and all coggs need to fit together and work, otherwise you simply can’t work on it.
So here some simple rules that make zine life easier for everyone:
Be reliable. You have had your chance to check the zine schedule, so you should be able to work within the time given. Keep the promises that you made.
Keep your deadlines in check. Mods usually send 1-2 reminders but really, keep track of the schedule yourself. The mods are not your mom and you are not a 5-year-old. Figure out what kind of reminders work best for you and mark all dates in your calendars.
If you happen to not be able to make a deadline, say so in advance and try to figure out a solution together with the mods. Don’t come apologising 2 weeks later, you are slowing down the process like that immensely.
Be polite and accept criticism, especially when you know you’re at fault. The mods run the zine so they can easily kick you out.
Be honest. If you can’t meet a special request (outside of what generally is required, like more than 1 zine piece) within the time they ask you to complete it, say so. If you forgot a deadline, say so. You don’t always have to explain things in grand detail. “I’m sick and I need a 10-day extension” is definitely sufficient.
Be friendly and repectful with the other contributors. Thanks to discord, a lot of zines have their own server which make interaction between the contributors so much easier. But not everyone agrees with your OTPs and NOTPs or general headcanons, so before things get heated, agree to disagree and move on. You want a fun fandom experience, not ship wars or other fandom beef. Same goes for other, equally charged topics. In general, try to get to know the other contributors a bit, fan projects are great ways to find new friends with a shared passion and might open opportunities to work on other projects together later on.
Reply to messages and e-mails ASAP if required. You probably won’t get as many as zine mods, but really, try to reply to any e-mail thrown your way within 1-2 days. There are a lot of emails that are more informative than anything, so you don’t need to reply to them. However, read each email carefully because sometimes you should reply and especially within a specific time frame. Zine work is work, so treat zine emails with the same priority you give emails from work/uni/school.
I think that’s it for now, thank you for reading!
A short notice for the next installment: I hope to issue one each month for now as uni picked up the pace and it’s a rather short semester. I also don’t know how much time I’ll have as soon as I will be in Korea but I think the one month thing should be manageable.

The east India company in 1848, the royal botanic garden greenhouse director Robert? fortune came to China, he put tea tree seed in a made of special glass in the portable incubator, sneaking on the ship from China to India, so must more than tea sapling germinate in India, and then formed a large-scale tea garden. After tea was introduced into Europe, it was not so popular as coffee and cocoa, until it entered the British Isles far away from the European mainland, which miraculously set off the fashion of tea drinking, and thus produced a wonderful flower of the world tea culture -- British tea culture.
In English, the word Teatime refers to the amount of time spent drinking tea, which accounts for one in three British lives. English black tea is famous for its variety and rich contents. The main contents include:
British people in the morning to drink "morning Tea", also known as "eye Tea", namely Earlymorning Tea, sometimes before the morning Tea will also have "bedside Tea", that is, the morning when you wake up against the bed can enjoy the Tea. Morning tea is mainly black tea as the main drink, is one of the important contents of the British signature tea, it is rich and fresh in one, color and taste are quite outstanding. Legitimate morning tea to select Assam, Ceylon, Kenya and other places of black tea modulation, so the taste of breakfast tea from Ceylon, concentration from Assam, color from Kenya, it can be seen that the British morning tea is quite exquisite, the most suitable for drinking after getting up in the morning.
This is the least known British tea drinking habit, also known as "sabbatical", which lasts about 20 minutes. At 1l in the morning, British people, whether aristocrats enjoying life at home or busy working group, all take a short rest and drink a cup of tea at this time. They call it elevens, namely, light meal at 11 o 'clock in the morning, so morning tea can be regarded as a good way to relieve British people from work. Generally speaking, morning tea is the simplest part of English tea because it cannot be very complicated due to the constraint of objective conditions.
English name is Afternoon Tea, which is actually the carrier of British Tea culture in the true sense. British Tea enjoys a worldwide reputation by virtue of its rich connotation and elegant form of "British Afternoon Tea" -- black Tea culture, and "British Afternoon Tea" has become a symbol of British people's elegant life. The special tea sources for afternoon tea are pure tea with traditional flavor, such as darjeeling tea, earl grey tea, gunpowder green tea or Ceylon tea. If you choose milk tea, you need to pour milk before putting tea water.
The etiquette of proper English afternoon tea is very particular. First of all, the time for tea should be four o 'clock in the afternoon; Second, in the Victorian era, men had to wear tuxedos and women gowns; The 3rd, in tea party it is to wear formal dress to serve for the guest personally normally by goodwife, must just let maidservant assist, with respect to the guest thereby. Finally, there are afternoon tea snacks, usually served on three layers of dessert porcelain, with sandwiches on the first, scones on the second and cakes and fruit tarts on the third, always from the bottom up.
When tea arrived in Britain, its selling point was its medicinal properties. As a result, Chinese tea, then sold in Britain, was a magical, cure-all medicine. In 1699, a clergyman named orrington wrote a whole paper on nature and the quality of tea. In the article, he fully affirmed the good effects of tea in the treatment of diabetes, gallstones, urinary stones, kidney stones, edema, weak vision and other areas, and repeatedly recommended that everyone should drink tea instead of wine. He believed that tea can keep people awake and feel happy, and it is a kind of enjoyable drink.
When "black tea queen" -- after the catharine princess of Portugal marries British king Charlie 2 in 1662, tea and tea ceremony begin to be popularized in England, Chinese tea is changed gradually by the plant that has medicinal property for fashionable life is indicative, British high society evolves its to have a kind of exotic emotional appeal and the lifestyle of luxurious sex. "Tea" began to be active as a kind of drink. Even though the high price makes many people stop, there is still a fixed market and consumer group.
During the reign of queen Victoria, with the expansion of British colonial trade, overseas tea sources continued to increase, and the British import tariff also decreased year by year. Tea finally entered the life of ordinary people from the position of luxury. With the decline of the consumption class, great changes have taken place in the way the British people consume tea. The British are very creative in adding sugar, milk and honey to their red tea soup, and sometimes even more bizarre things like whisky, butter and eggs. The addition of other substances to tea was a revolution in tea consumption, making tea more practical. However, the British reform of Chinese tea also completed the localization of tea after the introduction, so tea drinking is more common. Around 1750, tea had become a staple of the English middle class's buttered toast breakfast.
For more than a century, tea became almost the national drink of Britain. From the beginning of medicine in the 17th century, it became a national consumer product in the 18th century. The prosperity of the consumer society, in turn, improved the taste of tea. In the 18th century, tea gardens specializing in the consumption of tea drinks appeared in the British society, necessary costumes and utensils for drinking tea appeared, and even art forms such as tea dance were born.
The real tea culture of Britain was born in the Victorian era of the 19th century. The invention of afternoon tea meant that tea drinking got rid of the status of simple food culture and gradually became a synonym of elegant life. As a leisure culture, tea drinking in turn promotes a new round of changes in the consumption pattern and social values of British society.
English afternoon tea is the most gorgeous, delicate and luxurious way to eat. In the afternoon tea activities in Britain, the requirements on the environment are extremely strict, which must reflect the close combination between the British high culture and the natural life. At the same time, the choice of afternoon tea must be high-grade tea, tea sets and meals have clear specifications. This systematic requirement represents the generation of a higher cultural form -- not a simple means to solve the problem of food and clothing, but a life style that integrates aesthetic value and practical value, and has become one of the important means of social entertainment.
British tea art is the external manifestation of British tea culture, and British tea ceremony is the spirit carried out in the process of tea art, which can be combined with the philosophy of life. The combination of tea art and tea ceremony is the result of highly unified material and spirit. What can truly reflect the essence of British tea ceremony is exactly the British people's requirements for tea sets and basic etiquette.
At the same time, in addition to strict tea drinking standards, British tea culture also has certain requirements on the environment for drinking tea. What British people advocate is the elegant life of aristocrats. The afternoon tea party is a social occasion for people to judge their personal culture, and it is also the best way to study social etiquette and show the elegant demeanor of gentlemen and ladies. Men are dressed formally and appropriately, and tea sets are handled gently to ensure the quietness of the tea room. Women speak with grace and poise, and when people pass by, they move politely and smile. In a formal afternoon tea party you can fully feel the impact of English literary temperament and personal cultivation.
Therefore, in addition to the content of tea art and tea ceremony, British tea ceremony is also reflected in British culture, which is the reason why a country really has "tea ceremony". Peculiar to the British afternoon tea culture is a reflection of the national spirit, the British landmark elegant, noble entirely concentrated in the nation is elegant and luxuriant tea ceremony, even brilliant history already not, but the cohesion in the pursuit of quality of life in the tea culture and the traditional remembrance, also one of the British people blood, can not erase.
Compared with China and Japan, Britain has only a few hundred years of tea drinking history, but British writers have a deep affection for tea. After more than a hundred years of development in Britain, tea gradually integrated into British culture, and then organically combined with English literature, became an indispensable part of many literary works. Tea has brought British writers a new and rich creative subject.
Keats wrote of lovers waiting for their tea, nibbling at their toast and waiting for it to cool with a sigh. Byron called tea "the tears of China." he was "moved by the tears of China -- the goddess of green tea. According to the biography of byron, he kept his tea habit even when he went to Greece to fight in the armed forces: "as soon as he got up in the morning, he went to work. Then have a cup of tea and ride out on business. When you come back, eat some cheese and fruit. Read by night." Of course, black tea is not his only choice. When referring to Chinese tea, he often mentions two types: black tea and green tea:
I actually
Sadly, blame the Chinese green tea,
The fairy of tears! She's better than Cassandra the witch
Much more effective, because as long as I drink it
Three cups of pure juice shall make my heart glad,
So they had to turn to wuyi's black tea;
It's a pity that drinking is bad for you.
And drinking tea and coffee makes people take themselves too seriously.
In a long poem written in 1820 by Shelley, a famous poet of the same period, Letter to Maria Gisbome reads:
The medicine man complained about the drink, and I
Will drink in spite of counsel, when death comes
We will flip a coin to decide who will die first for tea.
Tea is holy, prose is beautiful, so what will be the combination of tea and prose? English prose leaves us with the pleasant, leisurely, wonderful memory of drinking tea. "The four seasons of essays", formerly known as The Private cca shut of Henry Ryecroft is George? gissing prose masterpiece, narrative is a hermit Henry ? lake loft indulged in The books, The natural scenery and memories of The past life, The author recorded The time of afternoon tea and tea, character, The etiquette, etc, expressing his feelings for tea tea and family atmosphere and touches.
"One of the bright moments of my day is when I come back from my afternoon walk a little tired, and take off my boots and put on my slippers, and hang up my outdoor coat, and put on my comfortable, family coat, and sit in my deep soft armchair, and wait for the tea tray, or at tea time, these are the most pleasant and restful feelings I have. With the appearance of the teapot, the rich fragrance wafted into my study, how wonderful. What comfort the first cup brought to my heart, and how leisurely I drank it afterwards; What warmth it brings after a walk in the cold rain! Looking at my books and pictures at the same time, enjoying the happiness of having them. I look at my pipe; Or, with an air that seemed thoughtful, I prepared to pack tobacco. As a matter of fact, the leaf is no longer after tea -- it is itself a mild and sensible thing -- so soothing, so suggestive of human thought."
After tea arrived in England, it was not only a "friend of MUSES", "nectar of gods" or a source of inspiration for poets, but also sought after by many novelists. It is said that "tea drinking covers almost all English novels". This is an exaggeration, but the fact is enough to prove that English novels are full of tea fragrance and tea culture.
The Pickwick Papers, by Charles Dickens, a famous Victorian novelist, has been used 86 times, far more than other works. Dickens's account of a monthly meeting of the brick street chapter of the church temperance union is so impressive that Mr Weller, the hero, is transfixed when he sees that they can drink so much tea. The description not only expresses people's enthusiasm for the temperance movement at that time, but also affirms the special role of tea in the temperance movement in Britain.
Tea is not only a kind of drink and food, but also a kind of art work. It is also a history of culture, medicine and literature. Through tea, we can see a country's art, culture, literature and so on. Tea from the east to the west, from China to Britain, experienced a rocky road, like the growth process of life, and eventually mature. In Britain, tea was first a "medicine", then a luxury for the aristocracy, and finally a necessity for the national drink, which has evolved into the popular black tea culture in the world today. This process is long but adds to the beauty of Britain's history, culture and society.
