it is very important to me that dean and cas were NOT sleeping together during gamble and carver eras. S4-5 crazy new chemistry i dont know you/ i’m in awe of you/ i’m terrified of you/ i hate you/i wonder why i want to spend time with you so badly backseat handjobs yes! then 6-10 it’s crickets. no sexual contact whatsoever (which doesn’t mean there’s no pining or attraction.) there’s just too much going on, one problem to solve after another, the new butterflies have been replaced by solid friendship and they never see each other enough. they don’t talk about it, they wonder if the other even remembers. maybe. maybe! there is a kiss or two in s11 but that’s it!!! then BAM! season 12. Immediately domestic boyfriendhusbands keeping a normal sex schedule of several times a week. it’s so routine it’s not exciting which is exciting in and of itself. and they even have sides of the bed.

#i never know when i think about cas’ confession and their later reunion #if they had hooked up once in 5x03 #and continued to do so on and off for several years #OR they had hooked up in 5x03 and then dean saw future cas in 5x04 and never touched him again #OR never touched him until season 12. and they are older and secure and they have a home and they’ve been missing each other so much #because first dean was a demon and then cas was possessed by the devil and it’s been so long since it’s just been the two of them #safe and whole #sorry for being a 9x06 time gap denier #i just don’t see it. i think dean was way too guilty and cas was way too cautious :(#deancas #destiel #supernatural #spn #dean winchester #cas #castiel #derryth.txt #this post was inspired by disabled-dean’s lebanon coda which is incredible and you should all read #but that put into words something i’ve always felt about their relationship but never been able to vocalize
