Ah Jo, I just read the post about Freefall (。ノω\。)
You deserve kudos and all the love for speaking about what you went through this year. I wouldn't be able to do this and I'm glad TxT are helping you a lot rn (o´・_・)っ
And overall, I just agree about everything you said. Lore aside, it's clear that they had fun while recording and working on the album. They found the genres where they're currently more comfortable and they're going to use them.
And also OOOOOH you liked Growing Pain too?! Yeeeees 😭
My rock/metal fan inside me screamed, cried and went "YES, THAT'S MY BOYS. THEY DID IT FOR MEEEEEESEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
And then I claimed the song as my fave, as my precious thing that no one should talk badly about or I'll go full rage mode (for legal reasons, this last part is a joke. Taste is subjective, yadda yadda).
Even tho I confess that a little tear came from my face after listening to the song for the, like, fifth time. I thought "Damn, Chester would have loved covering it (you know, Chester Bennington from Linkin Park)...And now I'm here, being a little emotional and teary about it 🥲😭
And I'm also projecting what would ever happen if TxT will ever go full rap/nu metal one day. I don't think it can happen because they need to find a vocal coach for teaching them how to growl or scream without losing their vocal chords five minutes later and also because they seem to not be into metal in general 🤣
Unless they'll do a collab with my girls Babymetal...ACH I shouldn't think about it or I'll project too much. But maybe a Japanese single...AAAAAAAAAAAAAH 😭
Better if they stick in the normal rock.
Also, idk you but I highly, HIGHLY, prefer Blue Spring live instead of the studio version 🥲
It seems the studio version is missing something 🤨🤔
Which is a bummer, the song is good 🥲
Teresaa thank you so much for your words 🥺🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 i'm also really glad i have txt to give me joy, support and relief 🥲 as always i don't want to rely on it too much because it puts pressure on artists that are human too and can't solve all of our problems, but music itself keeps being there for me and i'm always going to rely on that ❤
With lore involved it can become even more tricky for groups to express themselves through the music, so i'm really glad txt are given the opportunity to do that anyway!! (it certainly helps that the lore itself was built to fit the experiences of young people, but you know, as taehyun said on his last live, gbgb for example felt more forced for him because he wasn't really feeling what they were supposed to portray) for as much as i'm a lore enthusiast, if leaving it behind meant having more creative freedom for a group i'd support it 100% *coff coff ateez coff coff*
i'm also glad the company keeps overall acknowledging and respecting that txt shine and are more comfortable with certain genres yup yup!
i'm usually not an hard rock and metal enthusiast, it depends on the song, and Growing Pains is one of those for me 🥰 you claiming and defending it is like me with Dreamer sksgskhsks
... 🥺🫂 i'm not fan of Linkin Park, more of a casual listener, but i also thought about them when i heard it... also and me and my brother yesterday night were listening to some music together and one of their songs came up and i was like "full circle!"
i love how one way or another txt found a way to make us all shed at least a few tears :")
the vocal coach part made me crackle 😭😭😭 anyway bestie, delulu is the solulu 🤝 maybe they'll never go full metal but i hope they give us more hard rock and metal inspired in the future yes 🙏 let's manifest 🕯
so i'm not the only one part 2!! i feel the same way 🤝 i also prefer Blue Spring live version! its rawness just perfectly delivers the feelings, the studio version doesn't sound as good for some reason, so i'm keeping my dear blue spring live concert ver mp3 file in my playlist 👍

Songs of the Summer, 2022: Late to the Party Awards
[masterpost]
Intro
This is a category I've had in my personal Best Of lists for a while, because I always feel bad that I’m super slow with music--I usually don’t fall in love with songs until long after the buzz around them has passed. The way I see it, songs become truly special by finding us at that specific moment when we need them and finally, fully get them--I think that's what it means to say something "aged well". So this list is dedicated to those songs: those that haven’t made it onto any of my previous lists, were released during the 2021-2022 school year (the time period covered by my last Best Of list), and finally caught my eye this summer. This is my [after]party, and I'll be an obnoxious gg stan if I want to!
1. Alive by Lightsum (May 24, 2022)
Before listening to "Alive", I had managed to ignore Lightsum completely. This, I'll admit, was mostly because of petty annoyance at yet another group debuting with a single (I understand that business things influence this but also... come onnnnnnnnnnnn). So yes, I knew "Vanilla" existed, but I didn't listen to it, and I didn't even know about their second song, "Vivace" (very regrettable, as I would have liked it's WJSN-esque sound on first listen).
But then that tiny but explosive sound bite of "Alive" kept showing up in k-tube videos, and after about two weeks of "YOU MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE" blaring randomly in my brain, I caved in and listened to the whole song. "Alive" is delightfully audacious music, fully embracing both the Itzy and the Gfriend sides of the girl-group spectrum so that even if you don't like it, the song will definitely be stuck in your head. It turns out their whole discography is full of dance music that manages to be both crisp and wild-sounding in a way that doesn't let me ignore it any longer--I was missing out last year, and I'm so glad "Alive" wormed its way into my brain and finally won me over!
2. In My World by Rocket Punch (February 28, 2022)
When I first listened to this album, all my attention was on "Red Balloon". I have a preference for the simplest Rocket Punch tracks, ones like "Lilac" and "Ring Ring (Acoustic Ver.)", but "In My World" got to me eventually. TheBiasList sold it as synth in the tradition of "Take On Me" in a review from back when it was first released, and, though it didn't click with me on first listen, "In My World" built a little nest in a back corner of my mind because of this description, waiting for its moment.
And here I was this summer, craving sweet, high-energy girl-group music after Yena won my heart with her summer album. "In My World" was exactly what I needed, and it hasn't lost its grip on me since. The whole song is decorated with fast-moving, shiny things--melodies and synth riffs and high notes--that make it so, so exciting. It's as glossy as "Bim Bam Bum" (yes, I like that one, please don't murder me), but with a kind of energy their other tracks could only dream of!
3. Good Boy Gone Bad by TXT (May 9, 2022)
I formally apologize for not getting this one at first--I was younger then, and I've learned from my mistakes since. My excuse is that I was distracted by the b-sides (hi, "Trust Fund Baby", you still make me unreasonably sad), but I recognize now that "Good Boy Gone Bad" is probably just the best noise ever??!? All the textures--the whispering, the crunchy syllables, the layers of scream-along shout-singing--combine to create something that makes my heart race like the loudest noise music without feeling overwhelming or desensitizing me by the second chorus. The production knows how to be quiet without slowing the whole song down, and the contrasts in volume (can you tell I just really love the whispering in the prechorus?) push some little happy-button in my brain. I think this is the most I've replayed a song in this style since "God's Menu"!
4. In the Mirror by BOL4 (April 20, 2022)
As a huge BOL4 fan, I was bored out of my mind by this years' album. The day it came out, I sat down to listen to Seoul and just zoned out for a while. I still can't remember what "Seoul" sounds like (my mind just replaces it with RM's track of the same title), and "What Make Us Beautiful", though it did make its way onto a few of my playlists because it sort of fit the mood I was going for, isn't a track I can say I enjoy. So imagine my surprise when I realized I had completely missed "In the Mirror" the first time around (looking back, I'm guessing I just quit the album halfway through and went back to obsessing over Filmlet, the release that got me into BOL4 in the first place).
"In the Mirror" is classic angsty alt-rock, and Jiyoung navigates the transitions between soft, bouncy vocals (think: "Some" and "Hug") in the verses and all-out wails in the choruses excellently. It embraces my favorite parts of the genre by making my heart stop in the moments before the chorus hits, as if I can't help but breathe in deep and prepare to scream along, and by leaving plenty of space for guitar in the postchorus (look, I just really like intense guitar! there's a reason "Blank" is my favorite BOL4 song). I could listen to this one forever--"In the Mirror" manages to fit alongside the best BOL4 fluff (I'll give Jiyoung's performance the credit for that one!) while also coming off as a very genuine exploration of new musical and emotional territory.
5. Super Yuppers! by WJSN Chocome (January 25, 2022)
I thought this one was fun from the first day it came out (that bridge is both hilarious and very satisfying to listen to!), but it didn't find any lasting spot on my playlists during winter & spring. Similar to "Alive", though, YouTube forced me to hear the same sound bite (shuPEO shuPEO geuREOmyo) over and over again, and by the time summer rolled around, the chorus had imprinted itself in my mind and I realized what a triumph of performance this song is. "Super Yuppers!" is no brain only pink dresses music, and each member of Chocome fully embraces the shallow, Mean Girls-esque vocal stylings that entails (NO BUT DID ANYONE ELSE THINK OF "SEXY" FROM THE MUSICAL WHILE LISTENING TO THIS??). "Super Yuppers!" is all aesthetic, and I couldn't appreciate it more.

Short initial review on BE.
BTS always deliver good music and this is no exception. As a whole the album does what it sets out to do and fill me with soothing messages and feelings of small happiness in the hard times we are all going through this year.
Tumblr media
Life goes on - A sweet and cute song that I really like and think I will listen to quite a lot. The video is nothing special, but that is kind of the point and it is very fitting. I actually think I like the shots that are obviously JK’s more than Lumpen’s shots. So I kinda wish he could have shot more individual phootage of the members and scenery. It puts a smile on my face both to listen and watch. I really liked the lyrics as well. It has a melancholy feel I really enjoy and I like the beat and instrumentals quite a lot. The adlibs and vocal performances I also really love. It sets the tone perfectly for this album. Soft and sweet and definitely one of my favorites on the album.
Fly to my room - Another sweet song and the lyrics are perfect for the album as well with acceptance of the current situation and finding small ways to enjoy the now. The song is a bit too simple and repetitive for me though. And the rap doesn't seem to fit as smoothly as I would have wished and it feels more like Vmin feat. Sope than a Vminsope song. Jimin and Taehyung's vocals are great though, especially in the more melodic parts. The effects on the voices feel a bit unnecessary at times though. I also wish the music arrangement had more to it. I feel in general they could have done more with this than they did, especially since some of the melodies are really nice.
Blue & Grey - Probably my favorite on the album at the moment. Just beautiful. Every member shines and I love both the vocals and the rap parts. The mix of English and Korean is also good and the lyrics really touch my heart. Honestly Taehyung needs to write more songs. It makes me very emotional and I think Taehyung's feelings really comes through, especially in his own parts. He really shows his range in this song and the soft timbre of his voice just works so well. I wonder how his full version would have sounded. But I do really love that they decided to make this a OT7 song because honestly all of them are so good. This song makes me emotional and I am so happy they decided to not add too many effects but rather keep it a bit more raw and aucustic because their vocals are just so good they need to let them shine. The music and melody is great as well and I might even listen to an instrumental version of this. Love it.
Skit - I mean it is just proper chaos and very fun to listen to them isn’t it? Congratulations nr. 1 Billboard singers!
Telepathy - Retro and funky. Big hit seems to have something for cowbells recently? (Which I secretly love, shout out to TxT) A more upbeat and fun song that also represent BTS and ARMY's feelings of being unable to meet. The songs feels a bit short, but I enjoy it and think this bop will grow on me. The song balance between vocals and rap well. This song is needed to add some more positive vibes to the album. The synth and effects on the voices works well and I feel it fits in an album that also has Dynamite on it. The fade out on the end feels very old school.
Dis-ease - This song feels different and fresh and especially the second half I really love. Like it just goes off and it really lifts the song for me. It has an interesting structure but I do feel something is a bit missing from the beginning which I can't put my finger on. But I think as I hear it more times I won't really see it as much of a problem. Maybe the start needs to be like that to make the rest of the song work better, like it is working itself up to this heavier beat at the end. I feel Hobi really adds his vibe to the start of this song and the rappers sound very good. The lyrics are as usual good and I am glad they bring up this topic of weird restlessness that I think many have felt. I relate to this song, and especially this year and as a person who wants to work but can't and who has also experienced burn out. It’s a fun song, a lot happens and I think the more I listen to it the more I will like it.
Stay - A very nice and simple but cute song. I like it a lot, especially with their great vocal performances. This is soft EDM done right as it doesn’t get too repetative and they switch things up to keep it interesting. It feels short but fresh in its variations, even though I probably could have liked a third chorus as well. The bridge is probably my favorite part. Namjoon's rap really suits the song as well and elevates the song further. The lyrics (except the rap) are a bit simple, but it matches the tone of the song so I don't really mind. Another soft bop!
Overall a nice album but with many songs I might need more time to listen to before I can truly and fully appriciate them. The vocalists are the highlight of this album, which makes sense considering the type of songs, with some great harmonazing and beautiful tones. That being said the soft rap parts in Blue and Grey and Namjoon in Stay are definitely some favorites as well. I wouldn't say this album has a lot of instant favorite songs for me, but that is mostly due to the nature of the songs and my own taste. Overall this is a good minialbum which fits the times and works well in comforting me.
So those are my thoughts right now, just my own opinion and something that will probably change as time goes on as well. :) I know I don’t speak about BTS’s music a lot, but I really love them for their music and wanted to share my thoughts for this mini album. I hope you enjoyed reading and that you all enjoy listening to the album. I purple you. <3

kim seokjin x male!reader
For my boi @jaelegend, make sure to read all his work on @btsxmale
word count – 0.8K
genre – idol!au | fluff
warning(s) – none
synopsis – « inspired by the song look here by bts »
Tumblr media
"Now, you can't fucking tell me this is a coincidence."
Namjoon jumped at Seokjin's words, especially since he'd swore in the sentence. The older using profanities could mean absolutely anything, but in this case; Seokjin was so shocked and confused he almost couldn't stop himself from swearing, even ignoring the fact that both him and Namjoon were at such a prestigious place.
Namjoon swallowed the mouthful of alcohol that was in his mouth, before using his back hand to wipe off the very little excess, "I don't even know where you're looking–"
"Twelve O'clock, black suit, diamond necklace, looks too good to be real."
"Do you mean [Y/N]?"
"Can you not fucking ruin this for me?" Seokjin huffed, "Freaking hell, we only collabed with him once but when I tell you that he's that good looking."
"Nevermind, I totally get what you mean."
What god allowed you to look so damn attractive? What stylist allowed you? Seokjin had no desire to die an early death, and yet, you were chatting with other idols looking as gorgeous as ever. You know when you see such a stunning person, you just need a good half a second to breathe and appreciate?
Seokjin immediately turned his head, his skin from the neck up flaring a light pink when he saw that youd shifted your gaze away from your conversation and towards his direction. The singer's neck muscles tensed as he swallowed hard, trying to collect himself and his emotions. "Is he looking my way?"
Namjoon narrowed his eyes, before looking at Seokjin, "No, he was looking at the sponsorship banners that– ow!"
"Yah! Can't you just lie?" Seokjin whined, hitting Namjoon on the shoulder repeatedly, "Tell your Hyung that the man he has his eyes on has eyes on him too? I swear, you have no respect for me."
"ow! Wait, how would lying to you help?" Namjoon asks, despite trying to dodge hands, "I'd get your hopes up for no reason."
"Then at least I'll die thinking he he's looked at me twice, aish."
"That makes no sense!"
Seokjin stopped, this time handing his slim glass of pineapple vodka to the younger like he was his personal assistant. "I'm gonna talk to him. Go chat with the TXT kids or something."
Seokjin fixed his blazer, a million-dollar smile on his face as he took his steps to approach you.
"Jin! Oh my god!"
He wrapped his arms around you too, trying to hide his shock that you completely cut off another idol just to hug him, "Hey, Hyung. How've you been?"
"Amazing, I missed you, especially the boys. But Mostly you," A giggle left your lips, a cute one, one that made Jin smile at the sound of it. "Don't tell them I said that, yeah? How about you, though? How've you been?"
"Oh, you know. New year, new albums, new music; nothing new."
The guy that you had been previously speaking to had walked away pouting. If he wasn't wrong, the guy was one of the sponsors for the event, and honestly, Seokjin would have been leaving your side pouting and sad as well if he were the one losing your attention.
But he wasn't.
He had all your attention.
Ha. The privilege he has been gifted.
"I've been thinking." Seokjin took a small step forward, smiling that little bit when you didnt retaliate, if anything, you seemed all the more comfortable being slightly closer. "Seen as the song you did with the whole of BTS ended up doing extremely well," Seokjin grinned, "Maybe we should write something together. We, as in, just you and I."
His heart was going to stop if you didn't put away that playful smirk on your lips, not to mention, he was fighting back the urge to kiss them too. You raised your chin, confidence radiating from your words, "That's some though, there's no way I could say no to it," you said, before a toothy smile made its way, "Maybe... It would be easier if we discussed our collaboration over, let's say... Dinner? Friday? 8:15 PM at the new restaurant in the heart of the city."
Seokjin blink, almost wondering if he heard you correctly. "Did you just–"
"–Yeah, I guess I did." You said, smirking while taking a sip of the drink in your hand, "Is that a 'no', Jinnie?'
"What, no! Of course not, dinner on Friday sounds great!' He grinned, doing his absolute best not to hue red at the straightforwardness of your words. Why the fuck were you such a tongue-tier?
"Awesome!" You gleamed, "I have other people I need to chat with, Jinnie, but hopefully I'll catch you before you leave."
Seokjin's heart was racing, but he was honestly over the moon, "I'll for sure see you Friday?"
"For sure."
Well, if this wasn't the moment he's been living for, he doesn't exactly know what is.

i think it was because god's menu was released around the same bp and svt made their comebacks. same thoughts tho on gm > bd and i was also glad that bd got the wins gm didn't. and same with the streaming mvs while studying : ] ahh, the easily distracted people we are. (reading cut and litol font bc poor ppl who see this on the dash TT)
i've heard chinese ballads (usually osts of films and from a chinese friend) and their songs really tend to tug on my heartstrings. i hope sm gives shotaro more stuff to do soon :[ with some of the units being active and sungchan being an mc on a weekly show, it makes me wonder what he's doing. do you think nct will form a new subunit?
no, i'm not lactose intolerant so it really took me by surprise. it was a one-time thing. hopefully it doesn't happen again. i can't really say i'm a big fan of ice cream but it's good occasionally yk as a treat to yourself. and ahhh, i miss drinking smoothies. my favorite stall has been closed for nearly two years now, idk if they ever re-opened since our city mall burned down :[
i think it's an nct thing? it's why i never get tired of them bc they're always active in a way. you should've seen how things went down last year! march 127 album, april dream mini-album, may 127 repackage, june wayv album and the whole nct 2020 thing. it was a wild year. about the track, i listened to it once and forgot about it. might give it a few more listens but it might not grow on me at all. yes! wasn't a big fan of hot sauce at first too bc i thought the intro was weird (not jaemin's part, like the first thing that plays). and yes, that hook loops in my head 24/7. i even made it my instagram bio.
stray kids world domination indeed! and i agree that their performances were really impressive (specially the deadpool one, best one yet) but sometimes i would fancy ateez' more. i didn't watch kingdom too bc it stressed me out as a multi. always caught between being happy for one group and being sad for the others. and atz and tbz! you're still getting into nct and you're thinking of adding 19 more boys! judging from what i know your taste in music is, i think you'll like tbz's music better since there are a lot more soft songs there than in atz. but do give both discographies a listen in the future!
oh izone! i've only heard of them at music shows and dance choreo compilations bc of them being in sync. they're really satisfying to watch! i thought their title tracks were catchy as well! quite unfortunate that i never got into them really. but again, i dont think i can handle stanning temporary groups.
i'm starting to see a pattern in your biases :D i wouldn't be too surprised if you'll be drawn to jeno at some point in your dream venture. dream is soooo easy to love so if you really end up ulting them, i would understand why. and also, YES PLEASE WRITE FOR DREAM AND TAG ME IF YOU WILL. THANK YOU ><
thank you! :c don't get your hopes up tho, the masterlist must've been interesting to browse but are the fics truly worth it? XD i think not. since you already know koe, i'm reccing users @/rouiyan, @/nsheetee and @/loonacitys. i don't have that much fluff in my ficrecs blog. i think, i've heard of lvdsc before (maybe even read a fic or two) but i can't find their blog now. be careful in privating your works, you might end up losing them forever if you don't keep track of their links...(?) that's what happened to the works that i privated :/ take me with you if you move blogs ;n;
seungmin frequently left updates abt what he was doing, left good nights and good mornings, the occasional i miss you. he called fans 'baby' once. not sure if it was a mistranslation, or really just a one-time endearment. other than that, nothing beyond the usual. seung vlives always make me cry ;n; he always look so adorable and precious. also the gif, the fic was more on fake head-butting really but yes you could say it was also a fake nose boop bc it sounds cuter. i'll make sure to tag you on future seung content on the dash. (time to officially claim him as your ult, yes. dont make him secret anymore :3)
sorry it took me a while. tumblr went batshit. the ' werkl;' stopped working midway and i got busy with school yesterday. also haechan birth today and i'm so emo abt it. it's literally just a boy turning 21.
little font and cut saga lets go!!
(just kidding, i cant do little font typing for long periods of time, makes my eyes go beserk haha.)
true true, im afraid for txt on music shows now because theyre going against some big names (literally bts like whatj jsdf what was hybe thinking). yeah, streaming mvs while studying aka watching mvs on loop lmao. i still want to stream skzs final kingdom performance on instinct but i remember that theyve already won!! hehe
ah chinese ballads always make me emo, i like to scream out lyrics to the songs at the top of my lungs and sit there on the verge of tears. its a cultural thing maybe *sobs*. ooh, what show is sungchan mc-ing in? ill check it out. i thought sm would make nct japan for sungtaro (i heard sungchan speaks japanese) so it was a shocker when they made...nct hollywood lmao. given the current circumstances we're probably not going to get a new subunit anytime soon :( hopefully taro will have stuff to showcase during that period of time.
burned down?? oh my, what happened to your mall? that sounds terrifying. i remember when the front of my school caught on fire and we were all ushered out but we thought it was a drill and didnt find out till years later lmao.
oh true, since theyre such a big pack too. constant comebacks and promotions haha, nctzens never catch a break with 23 members. i listened to the new track again (ive forgotten the name already) but i cant- i cant do it. its just not my style hhh. i rewatched the mv for the godly visuals though. i dont know if youre talking about that 'bibididibibidiododo' part by that female morphed voice at the beginning of the song, because i wasnt a fan of that too. it grew on me though.
same, actually! im not an atiny and dont stan any other group in the show besides skz but i watched each groups performance and ranked them haha. at times ateez would rank over skz, it was wild. also yeah, my other multi friend was freaking out about kingdom and ended up abandoning the show because she was so scared of the fanwars and having to deal with her 'conflicting feelings'. about the stanning thing, in my defense, i have a list of groups i want to stan and ive recently added tbz and atz. the list is long, i have a long way to go! also yeah, i dont prefer ateez's songs and i have a bunch of tbz title tracks in my playlist but if i approach their discography like i did with nct then i think i would like at least five songs.
izone are my queens. theres a reason why theyre the only girl group who made it to my ult list haha! super talented and filled with variety and visuals, a perfectly concocted group (literally, sobs in pd48 scandal). ah, temporary groups. yeah i cried about their disbandment for like 3 days straight, it was bad.
a pATTERN?? INTERESTING. DO ELABORATE. jeno, oh my gosh hes like bang chan. an intimidating-looking bear whos actually filled with love and softness on the inside. im currently having a jaemin run though, his make a wish fancam is doing some wacky things. also yeah, dream is really easy to love. i fell for them so hard, theyre all talented and cute and adorable and the team ambiance is so nice. really rising up my stan list now. i mightt write for dream! ill have to see, hehe.
personally i think the fics are going to be worth it. i can feel it in my boOOnes. ooh, recommendations! fun :D ill check them (and yours) out after i finish this 30k jisung fic. ive been trying to finish it since yesterday but i keep getting sidetracked. also, i made a mistake. its luvdsc with a 'u', maybe thats why you couldnt find it? ahh. thank you for the privating tip though! will keep in mind. and of course ill take you with me if/when i move blogs. we're friends now! <3
SEUNGMIN CALLED STAYS 'BABY'???!!@)(@#*()! I SHOULDVE BEEN THERE ASKDFJDF. im exciting for the fake nose boop drabble!! i love soft couple moments hehe. also yeah maybe its time to make him my ult...hes going to have to compete against jake my beloved ope.
dont worry about being 'late' or anything! we all have our own stuff to do. also yeah tumblr is weird asf sometimes. if you havent realized i typically answer longer asks around the same time everyday, when i get to sit in front of my computer and pull out my clickity-clackity keyboard. super relaxing.
AND YES HYUCKIE DAY!!! HES SO ADORABLE HONESTLY. im in love with all seven members of dream, my fic rec blog is currently filled with fics for them haha.
