oh my, what a question! first off i will message you privately about how to watch the games. Also if you have a friend who is willing to give you access to es*pn+ then its easiest if you pick an out of town favorite team because then you can stream all the games online! and im guessing you are looking for help understanding hockey itself? my favorite is:

I, uh, got into hockey weird though. I started by watching a bunch of history documentaries cause im much more a history nut than a sports fan. I also picked the new york rangers because one of my favorite actors is a fan of them, and i found artemi panarin to be the most intellectually interesting player in the league at the moment. So i started with the 1994 nyc documentary, and the 'peoples history of hockey in canada' doc, and various russian hockey docs, and the philly bully doc for masochistic funsies (i lived in pittsburgh ten years). And it was only after all that when i ran out of history docs on you*tube, i finally decided fuck it i will watch a live game. And then i got hooked. ;_; so be warned, it could happen to you too. I do think it's easiest to pick a player and follow just that guy, and it helps if the player you pick accidentally is one of the best in the league lol cause then they get more ice time. If he has a distinguishing feature like fluffy curly hair that pokes out of his helmet its easier to spot him on the ice too. until he shaves his head bald, then youre in trouble.

Of course you also have that one asshole who you swore you were gonna ignore except for one drawing because it was too much of a badass pose to pass up, but then he just keeps existing with his pretty brown eyes, being all endearing and quietly smart and too handsome for his own good. And then you're following two teams and slowly your bias starts shifting from the team you said was your favorite to your old adopted hometown team and next thing you know you got 400 drawings of this guys face which translates to over a year of doodling him every day holy shit what are you doing with your life. And then you start learning a new language. But thats probably just me. I dont know if i would reccomend getting into hockey like that.

(11) what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general? omg i look up such a stupid amount of things when writing shfjkdfds i try not to get lost in it to where i never actually get around to writing what im researching but...... Im very visual i have to See and Understand it. the most fun has been folie honestly!!!! i watched probably about.... 30 different aerial dance performances (here's the favorites that inspired me most: cry me a river, call out my name, crazy in love) so i could describe jimin's routines in writing. i read about a bunch of ballet/musical terms for chapter titles so they'd make sense for plot, and i watched 2 different videos on how darkroom development of film works for ch4, not just to be ~technical~ about it but bc i wanted to see if i could tie it into the hypnotic themes. i'd never seen how the image appears in the film so i got to use that!!!

i do think there's a healthy balance though, sometimes i have to pull myself back and stop from Worrying Too Much about research. i watched a bunraku puppet show to make sure the one (1) line using it as a metaphor in folie would work, and when i had another one (1) line referencing shadow play i looked up shadow play performances too lol. those are at least interesting but like why was i reading about saltwater pool maintenance and aquarium transportation for 'sea legs' shjfkndsfkdsjfdskf ITS EGG PORN

like i mentioned earlier my biases are gyuvin and taerae! it's funny because i was battling between the two trying to figure out which one i wanted to bias. whenever i decided on gyuvin, id get so many taerae edits on my fyp, then when i switched to taerae id get a bunch of gyuvin edits. but hey, the more the merrier right? can never have too many biases hehe. but through zb1 i definitely gained so much more love for yujin, as i didn't follow him too closely on bp.

ok this got a few likes so i guess there’s interest so here it is. This definitely reflects my interest and bias so do ur own research! get lost in anilist’s really thorough filters! Get weird with it!

in no particular order:

- Lensman (1984) is the second ever anime to use CGI in a bit at the end where the protagonist gets lost in some kind of demonic cyberspace. The entire movie is on youtube and the bit im talking about (which is all ive watched lol) starts at 1:25:45

- Pop Team Epic (2018) if you havent seen it already uses a variety of mediums including different types of stop motion (with paper, fabric dolls, clay etc) to animate its shitpost sketches and its truly a delight

- Heike Monogatari (2021) looks like a traditional Japanese painting come to life. No surprises that its amazing since it comes from science saru, the studio savant director yuasa masaki (who will appear again on this list) established to experiment with bleeding edge technology.

- FLCL (2001) Look, you knew this was coming, i knew this was coming, we all knew this was coming. But come ON. this shit was made with 2d digital animation in the YEAR TWO THOUSAND and it STILL looks better than most stuff from today. do you even remember what computers were like in the year two thousand??? this is an anime KNOWN for being insanely creative with animation, famously letting all its animators do whatever they wanted in their scenes. some of the scenes weren’t even story boarded by the director. They animated MANGA PANELS for chrissake. they did a SOUTH PARK bit. i will not rest until all of my followers have seen this anime idc. just pick any moment from this video and its guaranteed to blow your socks off.

- the tatami galaxy (2011) if you haven’t seen this show WHAT are you doing. im not even gonna say anything ill just drop the trailer here and let it speak for itself.

- Pingpong the animation (2014) i know, i KNOW. an anime about ping-pong? but seriously, just LOOK at it. after tatami galaxy this is our third and final yuasa joint of the night. The man is a genius.

- akira (1988) you know this had to be on the list. im not even gonna drop the trailer because if you follow me theres no way you havent seen at least a gif of this movie. You’re welcome.

- sonny boy (2021) hey so do you guys remember this little anime, it was sort of popular a while ago, kind of niche, it was called “one punch man”? yeah so the guy who directed that basically did such a banger job that studio madhouse handed him a bunch of money and resources to write and produce his own original anime (NOT adapted from anything) and he made one of the great philosphical treatises of our times, no lie

- Keep your hands off eizouken (2020) i was really trying to keep this list free of links to cr*nchyroll yt but there are no other uploads of this scene and I really need you all to see it. Not only is this anime GORGEOUS, its story is really good, the humor is funny and the characters are SO endearing. Very much an “anime for people who dont like anime”, the girls have realistic (and therefore unusual) designs, theres not a bit of fanservice in sight, just a feel good story about three friends making anime for passion and fun.

- angel’s egg (1985) okay so theres not a lot of cel animation in this list and you may be thinking, hey m.a., dont you always say cel animation is your favorite kind (you insufferable hipster)? but theres a reason for that. Because of how time consuming cel ani is, most cel anime that I would consider visually appealing (eva, rgu, kite, etc) do so by using their resources very smartly and creating evocative, striking, atmospheric imagery through a mixture if photography and direction. some of the most memorable images in evangelion are barely if at all animated (the holding cell shinji misato and ritsuko alternatively end up in, the escalators down into the bowels of NERV hq, the infamous elevator scene, and of course the still of shinji in unit 01 holding kaworu). Tldr cel animation is VERY pleasing to the eyes when its actually animated (see akira) and its unique limitations push directors to be especially creative and talented (the opposite of whats true for digital but that’s another rant) but most cel animated stuff is… well its pretty and its nostalgic but its not technically impressive from a pure animation perspective. but there are some exceptions. lo and behold: the entire angel’s egg movie by visionary director oshii mamoru, on youtube dot com.

- mononoke (2007) this is another one where i dont even need to say much. Just LOOK at it. the fact that this exists is a marvel.

- samurai champloo (2004) HA! you thought i was gonna put bebop on this list didnt you? well jokes on you. one day maybe i will write my “champloo is better than bebop, YES really, NO im not just being a hipster” rant but that day is not today. the trademark watanabe swagger and swashbuckling and the inventive and brilliantly animated fight choreography that characterizes his stuff are in their full glory here. this truly feels like looking at a real life fight between swordmasters - youre legit gonna have to watch at .5x or go back a bunch of times to catch everything they do. its glorious. also i want mugen and jin to sandwich me who said that.

ok im kind of tired of typing and i think I managed to cover at least my favorites so heres some honorable mentions: panty and stocking, kill la kill regrettably plus trigger needs at least a little shoutout, devilman crybaby yes its good yes i stand by it you can fight me on this but it wont go well for you, mars red, bocchi the rock but you’ve probably already seen it, mob psycho if you havent seen this yet what are you even doing, sayonara zetsubou sensei but im warning you its very anime, urotsukidoji if you’ve got the stomach for it lol.

Maybe I should make a list of anime with good and interesting animation so more ppl can get taste lol

it just ocurred to me that we leyrens arent the only ones being let down. now i realize its not a matter of favorites or protagonists, its a matter of the writers being bad at making couples in general. aside from them cutting leyrens crucial dialogues and simply avoiding an earnest conversation about the bribe (dont get me started on the offscreen kiss i might as well pass out), we have sharpwin with a bunch of phone calls and everything being about max as usual, whatever the hell is going on with floyd, lyn and claude (rip evie) and the disservice they did to iggy and martin, who used to be the most stable pairing of the entire show. i kinda feel bad for sharpwins because i can feel the wedding will be all over the place (someone on twitter said helen might get married wearing a leather skirt lmao) and the fact that they exchanged a racist castle for a racist hospital rooftop is sad, helen did deserve something nice even if it was in ny. anyway, im happy/unhappy to realize that all couples in this show are equally built on unnecessary drama and crumbs of joy

there's a lot of inner peace and enjoyment to be found when we accept that new amsterdam is not a particularly well written show. like don't get me wrong, the writers definitely TRY their best but. the skill level is not there to execute the ideas they have sometimes lol (saved for my bias opinion of the stronger writers in the room but they're unfortunately relegated to story editors who only get to write one episode a season). but that honestly makes it easy to live with these storylines knowing that it's not out of malicious intent.

but yes, everyone's storyline and the overall cohesiveness of the show took a nose dive this season. of the main characters, helen taking the brunt of it since she went from her own individual identity to just being max's romantic interest and somehow London, which was suppose to be able her character backstory and development, was monopolized and then sidelined by max's story. Frankly I think of all the Bad Cards that were dealt out this season, lauren made it through decently. For as stupid as the donation plot and then the visa drama was, at least we saw some kind of consistency and end goal with what the writers had planned for her growth through this conflict. Tbh if the writers had allocated just a handful more scenes and screentime to lauren and leyla's story this season, it could've been a well done story. But the moments they chose to cut and be referenced in conversations instead (leyla coming to floyd about a rec letter, lauren tell leyla about her triggers, the additional money drop moments they had where lauren was more at ease) ended up making pacing feel rushed. Though I will say, I disagree about them avoiding earnest conversations about the donation because I think leyla said her piece in 4x10 and lauren said hers in 4x13. What's left and what I'd like to see is their conversation on how they move forward from it and I'm (probably foolishly) hopeful we'll get that in the finale.

ah well it is what it is. we've got one more episode left in the season and hopeful it's a good sign for better things to come in s5

Hi Milky!! I hope you had/are having a nice day today! Last night I finally told myself that I was going to TAKE A BREAK and it was so nice! I ended up watching all the T-Talk videos from that Twitter masterlist you gave me and omggg I was both laughing and awing the entire time!! The first one I watched was Jeongwoo and Haruto and I was straight up like wait when was this filmed why are they so awkward together 😭😭?? I was like.. Has treasure box even been filmed?? I got context later that it had but omg Haruto was a MENACE to Jeongwoo man was literally just trying to make convo and he was giving one word responses im so dead I can see why you'd bias him he's so funny!! But I also wanted to give Jeongwoo the biggest hug after that video and the other one he was in with yoshi. Sweetest boy truly 🥺 also these videos made me get slightly bias wrecked by Asahi 🥴 he's so iconic I literally can't I ended up watching a fan video afterwards of him "proving he is not human but instead a robot" and I Was ROLLING I also found two videos or treasure vs their editors and oh my gosh they were so funny jdndjsjs back in my treasure feels that's for sure!! I still think I'm Hyunsuk and Yoshi biased but maybe Asahi will become an official bias wrecker... Not sure yet! I'll keep you posted lol

Also I'm so so so glad you liked the songs!! Fallen Star and Illusion were written entirely by two of the members (Mujin and Dann!) so I love that they are my two favorite b sides!! Makes it feel extra special yanno?? And then Promise is such a kdrama vibe omg it's the first b side to get an MV actually!! It's a whole kdrama smashed into 3 minutes. Dann acted so well in the MV too!! Man killed it (as he should). You'll have to let me know what you think of the videos when you get the chance to watch them!! But I know you have a ton of midterms coming up so no rush and I am wishing you the best of luck!! I had a bunch of midterms two weeks ago but I'm in the home stretch now until finals. Also my gecko!! Yes he is the sweetest boy. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before or not but I am studying Russian! I really love hockey and my fav player is Russian so... Gosh almost 8 years ago I started learning Russian bc I was interested in learning more about him and his culture. I actually got his Russian Olympic hockey jersey to wear to school but one of my friends called me a Communist bc of it (this is going somewhere I promise nfnsns). I was like bestie where lol and he said bc it was Russian I am a Communist so I was like.. I mean okay go off I guess. And so when I got my gecko he was like well since you're a Communist you definitely have to name him Stalin. And I was like lol dope sure. I like prefacing his name with the story of how it came about bc it can be jarring to some people and especially now with the invasion I don't want to give off the vibe that I actually support it 😭😭 especially since it all started with a silly joke about me being a Communist lol. But yes his name is stalin! A long roundabout way of telling you but ☺️ despite the name he is a total sweetheart

oh i genuinely love it too i think its fun (in terms of the story from an outside perspective, not what happens in it, subaru is very clearly not having a fun time) i like the characters and the themes a lot, my personal favorite is the whole theme of "perception of the self through the other" which is like so prevalent in it (but really laid on thick in arc 6 and gluttony:if). and im the type of person that LOVES series and characters i can analyze into bits, i honestly could write an entire novel on that shit. that and part of my enjoyment of it probably does come from a bias of having enjoyed it with my brother tho bc it was fun watching it w him

its a weird show to talk abt tho bc of the association it has with all those weird nerdboys who completely missed the fact that the series is a critique of them because they were too busy jerking off to rem :/ like omg i like the show a lot but i hope to god no one lumps me in with that bunch bc of it 😭 not that i dont think the series doesnt have its fair share of flaws in that regard either, i still am critical of it and all that. and i can totally understand why some people would not have the tolerance for certain stuff in it, both in terms of its issues and its more gruesome moments, so its not a series i recomend to everyone.

still i legitimately love all the characters in it a lot and i think theyre what i enjoy about it the most. the entire emilia camp (save for rosewal. he knows what he did.) just owns my heart honestly. like, i cant even tell you for certain which my favorite is because i love them all. even garfiel who i thought was annoying at first (but then we find out hes actually an 8th grader so everything about him makes sense in retrospect). or ram who i think is totally underrated compared to rem like they both rock equally. and emilia after her character development in arc 4 and frozen bonds, she didnt shine a lot in season 1 but season 2 literally gave her like 90 minutes straight of backstory and development and now i completely understand subaru's willingness to throw away his life for her, i would too.

even subaru whos meant to be unlikable at first totally won me over, because he legitimately grew as a person. and i think the fact that we got his backstory in arc 4 was the PERFECT timing for it, because if we got it at the beginning it would have either been seen as an excuse to justify his behavior (which thankfully the series paints as explicitly in the wrong) or wouldnt hit as hard because youre not meant to like him. but after seeing him cry with his mom and dad youre just like wow hes literally just a kid, like, hes only 17. the trial is absolutely what finally got me to be a subaru fan lol. even before that there were things i liked abt him tho like how he cared about the village kids and how he was able to see rem's individuality. he was never a bad person at heart he just had some of that good ol fashion toxic masculinity early on and im glad he got over it and learned to not see people (esp women) as characters... now if only the nerdboys watching would do that too.

Taehyung and Yoongi. I could go to art museums with Taehyung and also take photos (i love photography as well). And with Yoongi we can spend the afternoon playing the guitar and maybe cook something together (although he looks like he loves having control in the kitchen and does everything by himself lol).

ranking j. smith-cameron’s appearances on law and order

first of all i would like to thank @gerrikillallmen​ who posted this and led me to discover that our dear queen general counsil has been in not one, not two, but indeed SEVEN episodes of some iteration of law and order:

seeing as i have never seen a single episode of this show before tonight, i’m clearly the most qualified to rank all of these appearances!

and also, i feel as though this needs to be emphasized, these are SEVEN DIFFERENT CHARACTERS. it just seems like there might be.... to many episodes of this show? but hey, at least its helping new york actors pay rent!

number 7: endgame (2007)

ok so some serial killer on death row tells a priest that he has a binder full of women (ouff...) hidden in the attic of his old house or something. j’s character comes in pissed and asks them to please remove her picture from the internet or whatnot because she’s not missing, but all the other women in the binder (again, ouff...) have not been found. 

ranked low because there’s simply not enough j in it for it to be worth it. if you’re into poor man’s bernie sanders, succession’s own gil is in this, but i’m afraid uncut gems has kinda ruined that man for me indefinitely. 

number 6: take-out (2009)

j plays an lawyer, which we can all appreciate. i swear, after going through her imdb and subsequently watching numerous rogue episodes of shows (of various quality...) just to catch a glimpse of j herself (quarantine has been rough lol), i can safely say most of this woman’s career consists of playing lawyers on procedurals. 

the glasses and the whole lawyer thing made me think of gerri, which is probably why it is not last. 

number 5: severance (1993)  

j plays some sort of business-y art person who dated a guy who was killed in a parking lot and then she gets oxygen whilst being questioned by mr. big. that’s pretty much it, if im honest. the valet knows a lot of stuff about quebec for some reason? 

YES its above the other two because j looks so cute. sue me. 

number 4: flight (1998)

oh dear oh dear, our favorite stone cold killer bitch is married to a psycho in this one who says she’s not stimulating enough for him. frankly unrealistic. she looks very sad all the time and i want to give her a big hug. her acting is sublime and i was actually sorta interested in the plot. 

oh and we got this hairdo. nice. 

number 3: educated guess (2011) 

natasha lyonne plays her daughter in this one, which, at first glance, should probably mean this deserves the #1 spot, but listen... this was the seventh episode i watched of law and order in one evening and i was lowkey losing my will to live. it’s just so... dire. suv especially. i can’t envision ever wanting to watch 20+ SEASONS of a show about sexual violence. 

heavy episode. i liked the whole “believe women” vibes it was giving me. js performance was beautiful and sad :(

number 2: poison (2001)

i could only find a really horrible version of this episode, as you can see by the lovely screengrab, but still, this episode was a GREAT time. she basically plays (spoiler alert but also its a law and order episode from 2001) an adult sized child who goes around poisoning people for no apparent reason and is willing to let her mother take the blame for her until she finds out it might hurt her chances at getting into an MLM. 

i also loved how she thought she was being so smart, but in reality, she was so so so dumb. 10/10 for psychopathic killer representation. also, i’m starting a rumor gerri poisoned baird. 

number 1: blaze (2003)

some may accuse me of bias, claiming i’m ranking this episode so high because of the clear gerri resemblance. and to those people, i say, yes. but also fuck you. it’s a legitimately great episode. a bunch of asshole “rockstars” set a venue on fire during a show and this one girl is like soooo edgy and her mom is like soooo square but in reality her mom is played by j. smith-cameron and she looks like this:

ugh... hot.

anyway, so basically the teenage daughter has to admit in court in front of everyone (including her mom) that she slept with the old has-been rocker before the show and she says something along the lines of “we screwed” and i laughed and thought, wow, 2003 was a wild time. also, the ending... guys, i’m not going to spoil this one for you, but... 10/10

also, eyebrows from grace and frankie/newsroom was in this one, which i was thrilled about. good times.

This I made for Day6's If and i LOVED it when I made it, i learned a bunch of stuff while trying to make it, it has a lot of mistakes but I'm still really proud of it!

This SVT part switch! it was SO fun to make and I love how it turned out ^^ I alos learned a few things making it... which might be a theme actually

This leader line thing - it's a remake of an older gfx that is not... great... so redoing it and doing WAY better was nice to see how my skills had evolved.

This for skz Side Effects - I don't know i look at it and it makes me happy. I think it really represents the song well so im proud of it!

and my FAVORITE thing i've ever made is THIS fear graphic. It was just supposed to be me fooling around to kill bordeom and it just kept clicking really well and I ended up being SO proud of how it came out ^^

fan or not: yes! theyre one of my ults! in fact, they were the group that got me into kpop in the first place. my original url on this blog was aaeong lol, and for like the first two months of having this blog it was pretty much exclusively a loona blog. things have come a long way... lmao

how long i’ve been a fan: since butterfly. i discovered them like a week or two before butterfly, and thinking back now it was probably because i followed some hunter x hunter (an anime) blogs who happened to be orbits, and they were mentioning loona because they knew that there was a comeback happening soon, and thats probably why i saw a bunch of mentions of loona right around that time... but i didnt actually know about butterfly until the day it came out lol. i didnt know how kpop worked at ALL, i wouldnt have known how to even find that kind of information lol. but like the whole experience of butterfly and watching the promotions for that and everything, that’s what really made me a fan. before that, loona (and kpop in general) was just something i was checking out out of curiosity, and i probably would have moved on to something else. but now here i am, close to my second anniversary of being into kpop... yikes... lmao...

the first song i heard by them: hi high! it was the first result when i searched their name on youtube lol, since it was a week or two before butterfly. hi high is still one of my favorite kpop songs, and i cant listen to it now without getting a little emotional and reminiscing about how naive i was lol. it still shocks me to think about how i knew absolutely nothing about korean when i first heard hi high, but now i can understand most of the lines in that song, or at least enough of the vocab to get the gist of the line. it’s kinda scary actually haha. learning is weird

my favourite song as of now: hi high and egoist. those have been my favorites for pretty much the entire time ive been into them. egoist was my number one favorite kpop song before weki meki picky picky came out lol, but like in the time since then i’ve also just decided that i probably like hi high more overall. my main blog’s icon and header image are still egoist screenshots tho lol

who my bias is: hyunjin and gowon. the member who caught my eye first was jinsoul because she’s like stunningly gorgeous in the hi high music video lol, and hyunjin was actually one of the last members i learned to tell apart from the others. i didnt really think anything of her at all, i had no opinion... because she barely has lines in hi high, and her solo song wasnt my cup of tea (ive warmed up to it a LOT since then though). as soon as i began marathonning loonatv though, hyunjin was my bias immediately lmao, and as i said, my first url here was aaeong. gowon also snuck up on me, and i remember getting to the yyxy part of loonatv and not being that interested because like during the love4eva section, its just those four members and none of the other members who by that point i had grown to love already were there. also i mean that was only a couple months after each of them had debuted, so they were still awkward and all still getting to know each other, it wasnt the most perfect first impression lol. as soon as i saw more stuff from hi high and butterfly era gowon though, she was my co-bias. basically what im saying is that my intuition for picking loona biases was 0 for 2 haha, my first impressions were wrong both times
