modern usage of this phrase in the wild: in my online gay yeshiva, this is most often used when someone venerable/knowledgeable in the community is doing an activity that’s not typical jewish study and is horny, bizarre, scandalous, etc., but you want to show your slightly-unhinged appreciation, and affirm that the activity belongs as part of the community!

ex.

1. “are you going to Rabbi B’s drag show tonight?”

2. “this too is torah, and i must learn!”
