literally I have not written this much in the span of a couple weeks since like. mid high school. so around 7-8 years ago. what has this show done to me
#it’s not like I haven’t been super into other stuff over the course of that time yet nothing spurred me to write like This#I used to in late middle school / early high school for a fandom I will not mention except. way way more. like I had an unfinished fic over#100k words. and that was just one fic#but. anyway SINCE then nothing’s motivated me to write this much except. well. you know#I think part of it has something to do with the fanbase being so new and active#I rarely get into things that are new enough or popular enough to have much of a fanbase to encourage me to write more / post more#so this is nice#anywayyyy yeah I just finished the second chapter of don’t you want me and both chapters combined are 10k. I am not even halfway done#I’m worried I’m dragging it out way too much and people are gonna get bored#cause the Fun Stuff will really start to go down in chapter 4#I guess we’ll see. it’s not as popular as my first (oneshot) fic which is a bit disappointing but I suppose inevitable#I’m not feeling that confident about my writing/plot on this piece honestly but. we keep truckin#rambling#oh yeah and for reference. I’ve probably written like 30Kish words worth of stuff in the past two weeks or so

In the small inner courtyard of the thaumaturges’ residence, Chongyun is meditating quietly; breathing slow, eyes closed, sitting cross-legged on the ground. Xiao slowly approaches, careful not to disturb him.
“Xiao! You’re back!” Chongyun opens his eyes, beaming brightly up at him.
Something impossibly warm washes over Xiao. Chongyun’s pure heart is ever so radiant, like a little ball of light. He can’t help it—he tilts Chongyun’s face up, presses a tender kiss on his waiting lips.

@esssteee to clarify: “Maud Blyth, Terror” is not about maud being terrified, nor is it about her leading an arctic expedition to find the northwest passage (I bet she could do it tho)
the premise of this fic is “MAUD+HAWTHORN BROTP!!” Because I needed to pass the time while I was excitedly awaiting the 3rd book, I started rewriting some Maud Blyth Chaos Moments from Jack’s Extremely Tired POV
(I’m not sure how far you are now in A Restless Truth, so I’ll keep it from an earlier section. you’re good as long as you’ve read up to chapter 11!)
Jack ran his tongue along his front teeth, then smacked the man’s face three times in quick succession. His skin turned a pleasant dusty pink, his head sleepily rolling to the other side. But no other reaction. Disappointing. If he was going to expend energy slapping the cheek of a man with a face like an oil painting, he should at least get the satisfaction of hearing him moan. “A dreadful assassin, and an even worse conversationalist,” Jack said. “No manners at all.” It had hardly been ten minutes, but already, the wait seemed interminably long for either of the girls to show up and lay claim to the handsome problem on his carpet. Jack decided to liberate himself of his own manners, and the man of his messenger bag.

Assuming that very super duper recent modern history is the same in the Assassin's Creed Universe as it is in ours, we can figure out fun things that Kassandra probably did in the last decade or so before she passed the Staff to Layla. For example:
AC: Odyssey was released in 2018, and the modern parts of the game take place then as well. Therefore, Kassandra died in 2018
Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017.
Kassandra being the badass woman warrior that she is, would likely be very intrigued by the game, and might have even played it

I love crossover fics. I don't even need to know the other shows/fandoms to like it. I just love when you read something and you can feel passion and love that author have for these two (or more) fandoms

thinking about how im literally on like. the 8th draft of my novel, but i've still never actually come up with a full, beginning-to-end readable draft without bits missing or repeated scenes or entire chapters in the wrong order

#why the fuck is this how my brain works#i fucking WISH i was one of those people who like. has all their writing beautifully organized in neat little folders#i mean like. in a way i do. i have most of my fics organized by fandom and ship and whether they're in-universe or AU#and then you open the doc and it's just a fucking horrorshow of scenes. most of them are half-finished. none of them are in order#when i need to find a specific scene i literally just think of a word or phrase i used in that scene and CTRL+F it#if nothing shows up after i've tried two or three combinations then i start searching through my notes app to see if i wrote it on my phone#then if i STILL can't find it i look in my emails in case i wrote it at work on the sly and saved it as an email draft#and then if i still can't find it after that i'll have to conclude that i must've written it in my head and forgotten to write it down#the masterdoc for dndb is a fucking MESS. it's even more confusing than the fic itself#cos im so paranoid about losing drafts that every time i rewrite a scene for the 3928283th time#i copy it into the doc AGAIN. so the current word count is 80k but half of it is just me neurotically redrafting the same 3 sentences#i let my friend start reading the garbage draft of my novel and she was like “im so sorry i can't read this it's fucking incomprehensible”#and then she gently pointed out that i'd used the same joke in 3 consecutive chapters and forgotten about it every time....#anyways i have a few chapters that are taking really nice shape but i just KNOW i'll get to a point where i turn the page and suddenly#there'll be another absolutely unhinged mess of tangled word-vomit for me to wrestle into something coherent...
