I’ve seen a lot of ppl write about Anaxagoras cosmic eye and chest, whether that be sfw or nsfw. It’s been quite a topic and for good reason. But after this update, I’ve given it some thought, and tbh, I feel it would take him a lot longer for him to feel comfortable letting someone touch his left eye than it would his chest. Hear me out. (Spoilers for 3.2)

1. The loss of his eye is tied to his sisters death. Its trauma is a lot more intimate/personal. It’s like having two scars, one having a more tragic story than the other. That one you tend to keep more hidden no?

Yes the loss of his eye is less connected to her death itself, but it’s the catalyst for why he does what he does. He sacrificed his eye in order to see her again. It was all for her. Now I don’t think he’s inherently ashamed of what he did, tbh I think he isn’t at all. He got what he wanted, he learned valuable information from it, and he has to be careful how much he exposes or else he can’t continue. Which brings me to my next point.

2. His eye is always covered, I don’t think just for cosmetic purposes. I think it’s a balance between hiding the act of blasphemy he committed that would surely get him kicked out of the grove, and also bc it is a very private thing he had done. It’s also on his face, a more vulnerable area. I mean, it used to be his eye.

Hyacine confirms herself that he never takes off his eyepatch, even when he’s alone. A small part of my wonders if it’s also for protection reasons, the eyepatch has more practical uses too. But for this sake of this post, I think it’s genuinely bc he doesn’t want to be caught. But also, bc it’s very intimate.

3. His chest I believe was done during the attack on the grove. I don’t think it was there before imo, but I could be wrong. We don’t really have any art pre attack that shows his body. And I don’t think the devs cared about changing his entire model for the echos we see when we first get to the grove.

The reason I think that void formed was bc of all the alchemic events that he had done during the attack. He sealed the black tide in the grove so no one else would be harmed. He created echos for us to find when we arrived (though he somewhat explained the exchange in his echos for this one). While looking at the research with Hyacine, he performed a ritual to try and merge the core flame with his body—though ultimately failing, every single thing he did required an exchange. He says it multiple times, alchemy follows the law of equivalent exchange.

But every single one of these, aren’t intimate. They aren’t personal. He even shows the void through his shirt.

4. Also… we know his heart was transmuted into a philosopher stone. That’s a very vital and vulnerable organ that’s no longer in its usual spot. His chest is a lot less of a threat.

I feel like if he ever let anyone touch his eye, he’d really have to trust them. It takes courage on his end too, he has to allow himself to open up in such a way. He’s prideful and arrogant, but at heart, he’s a broken child who’s lost everyone. Have faith in the gods they said, and even they abandoned him. Anything linked to his sister is personal. I genuinely believe it would take a lot of trust to let someone though it, let alone see it.

Andromeda’s race/ethnicity and why it’s not inaccurate to interpret her as black/African

Now you’ve seen how I draw my babygirl as Afro Palestinian Egyptian so you know where I personally stand on the subject. However, my interpretation isn’t the only one, ancient authors, from mythographers to historians to poets to playwrights, have proposed various different locations for Andromeda’s homeland, often times contradicting each other, what I’m trying to do here is correct some misinformation as well as argue that even if Andromeda isn’t black/ethiopian, she still wouldn’t be considered white or ethnically European.

I would like to reiterate like I did with my Hephaestus/Aphrodite post that I’m not a mythology or history expert, I just read a lot. So do your own research and come up with your own conclusions.

Let’s go.

The etymology of “Aethiopia”

Aethiopia means "of burned face" which yes is pretty racist be modern standards but basically means that its inhabitants are dark skinned, so even if you go by sources that it isn’t in Africa, the inhabitants still wouldn’t be white or Greek.

Location of the Kingdom

You’d hear the statement that the Aethiopia in mythology is not the same as Ethiopia the modern country, which is true. You’d also hear that it’s a completely fictitious location, that’s only partially true, while Aethiopia existed mainly as a mythological location (mentioned as early as the Iliad) that didn’t stop ancient historians, mythographers and poets from placing it in real locations or calling pre-existing nations Aethiopia. It’s hard to pick which one is more “accurate” bc they all contradict each other, not only that, but these writers didn’t actually visit these locations and ancient ppl weren’t as well versed in geography as we are today so they’d be weirdly vague or confusing about these locations, I mean just look at an ancient map and you’d see what I mean.

So personally, I think you can go with any version you personally prefer, the options are quite limitless, she could be from the Arab peninsula, the Levant, North Africa, Persia, hell maybe even India if you are like Ovid.

Andromeda’s genealogy

Yes Andromeda is descended from Zeus (no family tree can escape that man lol) and she’s also the great granddaughter of Poseidon, which adds a whole new layer to the fact he tried to kill her.

Now for a bit of history: The Trojan war (which didn’t happen irl obviously) was dated as taking place in the 12th or 13th century BCE by some ancient writers, that war happens a few generations after Perseus’s story, which means that Egypt was in the New Kingdom era, also called the Egyptian Empire, when Nubians (who would be considered black by today’s standards) were a very important part of society, even becoming Pharaohs. Ancient Egypt was a lot more diverse than modern ppl give it credit for, there were multiple ethnic groups living there. Not to mention that you can’t get more Egyptian than being descended from the god of the Nile River lol

Libya is (obviously) the personification of the region of Libya, not the modern country Libya, but the general area in North Africa west of Egypt. The name Libya comes from the Libu, a berber tribe. So once again, even if Andromeda wasn’t black, even if you interpreted that her kingdom is placed in Asia, she’d still be of African decent.

Cassiopeia is a tricky one, her origins are obscure, she’s called a nymph by Nonnus, while Stephanus of Byzantium (a very late source) states she’s from Ioppa and that the city takes its name from her. However, Ioppa/Jaffa was identified as Andromeda’s home much earlier in Periplus attributed to Scylax, which was composed in the late fourth century bc.

Conclusion

You can make Andromeda black it’s ok. Ancient writers couldn’t agree on her country’s location but we can still speculate. Anyways ummm… I think that’s it? Maybe I’ll add to this if I find or remember more interesting information.

Natsu, Wendy, & Sting didnt even try to hide it; constantly trying to make sure hes comfortable and felt safe and didnt sit alone confused and scared by all these new things he has to deal with

Natsu definitely drags him onto impromptu jobs and fishing trips with Happy, in an effort to get away from people, or just so they can spend time together, the reason is unclear

i think dragon slayers as a whole are like violently touch starved, and thats what Sting focused on mostly.

Rogue & Gajeel were more subtle with it (not by much tho), they understood when needed it quiet, when he just wanted company without the talk

If Gray was having a hard time, whether or not it was bc of his slayer magic, Rogue would offer up Frosch and sit with him, offering silence or white noise. whatever he needed

Gajeel probably thought he was subtle but he absolutely was not, like asking Gray if he wants to run errands with him when places theyre at get too sensorially intense

he tried to ask Levy about everything she knew abt demon slayers without being too obvious, when she kept sending him knowing glances he just asked (very resigned) for some books on the matter.

hi!!! u do not need to beg anon its okay. i am more of an enjoyer of nonbinary kon, but i do think that a lot of that is involved in letting himself dress more femme/embracing androgyny… i do strongly think that if she were transfem she would change her name to wendy, but i think nb kon is moreso changing gender expression/how he views himself more than anything.

day in my life is pretty much school at the moment, however ive scripted that victoria secret fashion show is way bigger and way more famous, the same way people are so obsessed with football to the point of billions of fans, people are the same with victoria secret so as angels we train a lot and take our careers seriously. Hey this is ab the weird string of comments you got on ao3 so pls ignore this if you'd like to close this chapter.

But have a genuine question bc did BNHA get an extensive romance arc while i was away or smth? How does the commenter know if Bakugou would be a "shy loverboy" or whatever? How do they know it was "out of character" ?

I feel this is a weird case of fanon and canon merging together in someone's mind. But since everyone has different fanon interpretations of the same character they get whiplash when confronted with a new interpretation.

It's interesting to me because i see this sort of complaint alot on tiktok where ppl highlight that some fanwork only keeps the characters name and not the "personality". The video from overly sarcastic productions about the use of "down time" come to my mind. "Down time" is supposed to show how characters would act outside of the plot. It humanizes the characters.

Given that Shonen anime/manga tends to show bombastic fight sequences that last multiple episodes or chapters, maybe we feel like characters don't have much going on outside of the plot. Episodes that don't deal with the plot are usually called "fillers". Maybe the shonen audience doesn't consider fillers as adding to the characterization.

So no one agrees what that character would do in any situation that isn't dictated by the plot. So we make our own "downtime" with fanwork. We go based on vibes in fanworks and the more we consume the more complex the "character" becomes. Ship of theseus style characterization.

This is my crack pot theory based off of that hate comment.

Anon swinging so hard for how they think Bakugou would fall in love is what leads me to believe they’re another writer. Because none of us know the definite characterisation of that—because it hasn’t happened in the manga, lmao. All any of us can do is imagine. And this is the thing: a shy Bakugou characterisation is a sweet one!! It’s one of my favourites when I’m reading x reader fics, and there are a lot of talented writers who use that as the backbone of their work or their headcanons. Shyness isn’t what I saw nor wanted for surrender’s Bakugou—and it’s as simple as that. I made an executive decision and I wrote towards it. And here’s the kicker—I like what I produced. 🥹 I will forever pout that I didn’t like, have magical powers that showed me the canon ending before I started surrender, so that I could work some of those elements in, but the fic is very much a time capsule of what I loved about BNHA at the time, and what I loved about Bakugou. I didn’t see him as a shy boy, who got flustered whenever interested in someone—I saw him as a man that had to deal with the reality that the power he worked so hard for/with could be isolating in it’s scale and violence. Not just with like, a regular romance but like, in his friendships that yeah, I saw him as still being insecure with to some extent. Shyness was not a word I would’ve used for Bakugou, when first introduced to BNHA! And it wasn’t what I wanted for him, in surrender. 🥹 I wrote with the theory that he’d be reluctant to admit the interest he was feeling, but he’d still be feeling it. He’d still act on it, even if it was just like, hovering nearby, lmao.

And this is the thing: that’s my theorising. My downtime filler work. 🥹 That it didn’t resonate with Anon isn’t the problem. I found it a little distasteful that they thought leaving their first comment (I came across this fic while searching etc etc) would in any way endear me to their opinion (I personally believe that if you have beef with a fanwork, vent about it to your friends, don’t make it the creator’s problem), but it’s not a crime to be disappointed in something you’ve spent time with and realised you didn’t enjoy. It was only when I didn’t reply and they came back a day later to be like, “haha you’re WHITE and OLD!!! that’s why this is so BAD!!!” that I realised that perhaps this was less some random who had been genuinely disappointed in something they’d been excited for, and was instead someone trying to be actively hateful, LOL.

The fact that anon got so mad about the OOC nature of Bakugou, and that they were bored with the quirkless/passive combo of Weeds makes me wonder about not only them being another writer, but like, one who’s either written something opposite to that and is feeling a little insecure about their place in the fandom, or has friends who have. 🧐 I can sympathise with that (to an extent), but I won’t wonder too much about it—lest I end up writing some OOC fanfic about them, too. 😉

But no one deserves to be cheated on. I really hate how with a lot of media these days….characters both in canon and fandoms are written as black and white and aren’t given proper layers. And I think fandoms have ruined that. Like, you can still like a terrible character while acknowledging that they’re a terrible person without making shitty excuses for them

You can hate/ dislike a bad character without justifying all the terrible things that happened to them. I think the problem is ppl will give their faves or protagonist the benefit of the doubt or give them grace but characters we’re supposed to hate, that are written as bad, don’t deserve grace and patience and understanding

For some characters that’s true….some characters don’t deserve sympathy some characters don’t deserve redemption

But there’s a proper way to write it and I feel like creators and fans are missing that

It does a bad job of writing complex characters and holding the “bad” ones to a higher standard. So much so it backfires.

Minthe is one of the characters that was done SO dirty and was only put there to be an obstacle for hxp same as Demeter.

Minthe cheating on hades? Bad! Persephone persuing hades even after discovering he was already in an official relationship? That’s okay!

Stolas was mistreated by Stella who was and is a terrible spouse but that doesn’t justify his cheating. I do feel bad for him sometimes. It sucks that the physical relationship he had for blitzo turned emotional and that he started having romantic feelings for him,only to get rejected time and time again. Stolas isn’t an entirely bad character we see multiple sides of him, he loves his daughter, he cares about blitzo he tried to do right by Stella. But even good characters can still do bad things.

And I don’t wanna hear “well they’re In hell lol 🤪” especially since we’ve seen multiple how monogamy and marriage are treated in this show. If the show is addressing how important it is..then it matters. If it didn’t it wouldn’t…..

It would’ve been nice to see that development and care be put into Stella instead of the classic hateful wife/spouse….

all you roleplay accounts have seriously overrun the hayden fandom on this app for real. like I'm being so deadass when i say people are getting really annoyed with the fact that we can't even go on MULTIPLE tags without seeing you guys roleplay whole ass family's, flirting oddly with each other completely out of character, AND HAVING BABIES USING RANDOM ASS KIDS PICTURES U FIND ONLINE? if you're gonna roleplay that's one thing but clogging every corner of the fandom on this app isn't okay. some of the writers taking part in the rp stuff have completely abandoned writing to interact with random ppl who aren't even in character.

I have a few things to say about this.

1. you are the first person I’ve seen complaining about the rp accounts.

2. We aren’t clogging the tags. Every single account either doesn’t tag their posts, or uses “#character rp”.

3. Writers don’t owe you anything, and, I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, they are real people with real lives. And adding 3 words to an ongoing chain of rp is easier than sitting down and writing a whole fan fiction.

4. Tumblr isn’t an app meant exclusively for writing. It’s a FANDOM SPACE. For people to meet and connect with others. How dare we use a fandom space to fake roleplay as a joke in our own respective fandoms?

5. To my previous point, this is all for fun. No one is saying you have to join in on the roleplay. The beauty of tumblr is that every person can do whatever they want on their blogs. Don’t like it? Don’t interact. All of this is silly goofy fun and doesn’t impact you! Crazy! Block the roleplay accounts, or the blogs interacting with them. Your internet consumption is no one’s responsibility but your own.

6. The “marriage” and “babies” is a joke too. We’re having fun (god forbid) and are all acutely aware that this is fake. I’m married to probably 7 people on this app, and all of us have fake little children in our own pockets or the internet. And your “you’re using pictures of children you found online!!😡” attitude? Yeah no shit. They’re pictures are random babies from Pinterest. They aren’t our responsibility? No one is uploading anything that wasn’t previously digitalized.

About the Kaito keeping his secret ID through Refuge In Audacity do you think Conan stuck with his first guess that KID was younger than 20 or later dismissed it as KID wearing a mask? (Ik this isn't relevant to the kuroba sitcom but I had Ditto in the brain haha)

I personally hc that he logicked it away as "he can't be THAT young, learning all those skills he has would take time" and then Kaito TOLD HIM his mom was Phantom Lady who did crazy gymnastics so she couldn't have been very old and dissappeared a scant 20 years ago and Conan went "welp"

Ik that Hakuba figured KID's age through DNA and then compared to highschool databases across the country, but first that's not how DNA tests work, the length that tells how old someone is changes from person to person, and second, I'm not familiar w Japanese laws regarding privacy and DNA databases but I'm fairly sure that what Hakuba did was like. Super illegal. Probably why Hakuba hauled ass back to London after that case actually, I bet he only got away with it bc nepotism (IT'S SURE ILLEGAL IN THE UK)

GREAT QUESTION I think conan kept it in mind, but became less sure of himself over time. conan/shinichi has a pretty skewed idea of what kids are capable of doing, and I think he knows this about himself, so it’s reasonable for him to think “...nah, it would be insane if a high schooler was doing all this… right?” and if he was basing his original age guess off of what he could see of kid’s face and body shape, well, he learned very quickly that kid can change any of those traits at any time. who’s to say that kid wasn’t wearing makeup/a mask/anything else that might change his silhouette? …left to his own devices for long enough, conan can become a victim of his own overthinking, lol.

aaaand then kaito dropped the Phantom Lady tidbit. that, if anything, seemed to me like a peace offering of some kind? possibly meant to even the playing field between them? as always, it’s hard to tell what shinichi and kaito actually Know in canon, though I’m of course personally a fan of them knowing the least amount of information possible while still being as intelligent as we know they are. because shenanigans >:D

if we want to have fun with it ;) , I think the phantom lady reveal only narrows down kid’s age to,,,,, younger than 30? ish? it mostly gives conan an upper limit, since he doesn’t know whether kid was born before or after her retirement, and she easily could’ve retired in her early 30s. what it Does confirm is that this kid isn’t the original one, but that only narrows his identity down to “probably a protege of kid #1.” from there, the biggest bit of provable evidence against kaito is that his father died right when the original kid disappeared, but that’s still a pretty big logic leap to make when you aren’t around kaito all the time (like hakuba is). and toichi had students, too! who knows who else he taught besides yukiko and sharon? who is more likely to be kaitou kid: an undercover protege of toichi’s, or his teenage son who has an alibi for multiple heists?

best I can tell from some brief research, in Japan, DNA collection isn’t regulated for law enforcement, but hakuba isn’t law enforcement, he’s a consultant at best. I think other DNA tests for ppl age 16+ require consent of the person, and 16 or younger require the consent of a parent. hakuba has NEITHER. hakuba was saved from being a juvenile criminal by nepotism and the fact that nakamori laughed in his face instead of charging him with obstruction of justice or something. and yeah, that’s Absolutely Not How DNA Tests Work adjfksjdj

Came back from school to see my question got answered ^^ And now instead of studying for my exams which are this week I will be doing this instead >:3

When i say they feel distant i mean like they seem to argue alot like when Error was refusing to help watch Killer Nightmare felt the need to guilt trip (idk if thats the right word) him in order to get him to help. It doesnt feel like they trust each other very much based on this interaction alone. Even at the two arguments, I noticed that Nightmare was continually provoking Error.

Few other questions: I remember reading another question and the end of ur answer was smth like "Killer clings to Nightmare and Cross clings to Error" I wonder if thats still canon cuz idk when you answered👀

1. Unfortunately, yeah, even if they are close by technically, it doesn’t mean they are heathy. They are kinda like childhood friends who have grown into different people but still cling out of convenience and remaining love. If they met as adults, they wouldn’t get along, but they have history to them. They know how to push each other’s buttons, and since they have no one else to fight with without the fear of losing them, they target one another. That’s where their trust comes in, as they are the only people on the whole multiverse that they have. Sure, they are passing friends with Reaper, especially Error, but neither trust him enough to be themselves. They both know the other will never leave, so both can be utter assholes to one another, and taunt to get it out of their systems. It’s not healthy and it’s built upon their grief and subconscious blame towards each other and themselves after losing Ink.

They are in a bitter stage of their lives right now. One day, they’ll get back to who they use to be. For now, there’s only hints thru Killer’s perspective.

2. Error and Cross are parallels to Nightmare and Killer, and that’s all I can rlly say until Cross’s chapters. But yes, that’s still canon.

3. Error will have full chapters dedicated to him in the future! He’s not officially apart of the bad sanses, and is more of an ally to Nightmare as he doesn’t care for the other bad sanses besides Cross and Horror (who don’t come in until much later)

4. LOL I LOVE ERROR TOO! I’ve made jokes about how he’s my husband and I even jokingly got a body pillow of him to match with best friend irl mil_leon on tiktok. He will win this year….trust…

However, he isn’t my favorite! My favorite is core frisk, and ppl used to call me that as a joke and as a nickname!

I have four OTPS, actually. BlackCoffee (reaper and Ccino), ColorKiller (rainbowknife), Errormare, and Drink. Shockingly, Errormare isn’t my favorite. DRINK is. I absolutely adore Drink with everything in me and if I ever see art of it I will kick my feet, and scream with joy. I have multiple analyses about them just IN MY DOCS bout how perfect they are for one another but that’s the story for another day.

Some others I really enjoy tho are BloodMoon (Geno and Nightmare), Crink, Horrorfarm, lowkey Dustswap BUT IN A VERY SPECIFIC WAY AND NOT IN THE OLD FANDOM WAY THWY HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE GOOD GUYS PPL JUST WRITE IT SUPER WEIRD, CrossxKiller (only bc my gf and I relate to them!), and Driller!

5. I really recommend binge watching ginjanijaowo and their speedpaints and character design videos! June taught me a LOT about character design and watching them draw inspires me a lot. I also suggest doing ugly arm up sketches before each important project to get the rust off! Don’t limit urself to only one anatomy technique- as I’ve tried every single one in existence and still developed my own. Drawing is all about finding what works for YOU and sometimes, the big popular artists techniques just won’t. Like… doing the gesture line is a very important part of the process….that I will never do LOL

However, giving art advice is tricky as it’s easier to focus on one aspect you want help on so the artist ur asking can focus their advice better! Like asking about anatomy, drawing heads, animatics, story boarding, etc! I wouldn’t mind doing any tutorials for those types of questions!

Kiruko’s Gender Identity

Spoilers up until where the anime ends (Ibaraki Facility)

Everything below is my personal interpretation and not necessarily what the author is intending *thumbs up*

I find it interesting that no matter what lense you try to view it through, Kiruko is trans.

And before I go on, I’m gonna warn u in advance that I’ll be using he/she/they interchangeably for Kiruko/Haruki because it seems like Kiruko themself doesn’t seem to care about what gender they are referred to as or outwardly seen as

For one Kiruko’s gender experience aligns w the experience of a trans man. Kiruko is a male (Haruki) stuck in a female’s (Kiriko’s) body. This interpretation is the most obvious bc Kiruko says it themself multiple times. The only reason why people might deny they’re trans is because Haruki actually gets to experience living a cis life as a boy.

And ig this is what makes it easy for ppl to accept the fact that Kiruko’s (Haruki’s) gender identity isn’t aligned with their body’s sex.

((Funniest thing about this is that I’ve seen homo/transphobic anime bros praising the brotherly bond between Kiruko and Maru whenever they have moments together that could be seen as romantic.))

My personal interpretation is that Haruki is actually a trans girl. It might be confusing to get, especially bc Kiruko tells Maru over and over again that she is a man on the inside. But to me, this seems more like something she says just because she acknowledges her original cis life and she doesn’t want to be the object of or doesn’t see herself as deserving of Maru’s affection

I interpret Kiruko as transfem because Haruki’s love and obsession with his sister could be seen as a form of gender envy, and I kinda see the feeling Haruki gets after inheriting Kiriko’s body as like,, gender euphoria even if he doesn’t realize it. ..umm ignoring the obvious implied romantic feelings Haruki has towards his sister lmfao.

It’s not an uncommon experience for trans people to want to become a person they love/admire/respect (who happens to be the opposite gender) and eventually realize that they are trans because of it.

Haruki tells Maru that he’s gotten more confused than ever about his identity. But the ending of this arc reads to me as Kiruko realizing and coming to terms with the fact that they want to let go of their past as Haruki— their old body and life, and enjoy living as they are now.. as Kiruko whether it be a girl, both or nothing at all.

I saw someone asking why I labeled something as Peko/Buki even tho I'm a Kuzu/Peko shipper. Other then the fact multishippers exist, I didn't consider that as a Kuzu/Peko comic. Ibuki expressed more interest in Peko than Fuyuhiko.

Call me asexual but I don't think just because Fuyuhiko was close to Peko's hip, it should be considered explicit shipping.

So just to be clear on my stance, I am okay with you ppl labeling my art as any ship but there are some boundaries.

Don't label it with problematic ships like incest or age gap.

If the art is clearly about one couple, don't make it about another. But if it's just a group of ppl chilling then you can find whatever couple you like.

I personally hate Mahi/Peko but I know I'm gonna draw things exploring Mahiru's crush on Peko so that's on me if ppl interpret it that way. Just don't be weird, because I have no quams with never drawing Peko and Mahiru within 5 feet of each other. I've drawn Case 2 ten times and I've only drawn Mahiru once.

I made a list of Peko's relationship with others if you wanna know my stance on her ships.

Hajime -I will never let people forget Hajime has a canon crush on Peko. Besides that, Hajime is Peko's first true friend. Outside of Fuyuhiko, Hajime is the only person Peko feels comfortable confiding in her secrets. He doesn't judge and is very kind. Meanwhile Hajime goes to Peko when he needs a cool headed and rational opinion.

Chiaki - Queerplatonic, they snuggle a lot. Chiaki is chill and her games makes it easier for Peko who has no experience talking to people have things to relate to. Peko understands when Chiaki is emotionless for the most part and then burst into excitement when it's something she's passionate about. They developed their own little language in those situations.

Nagito - Nagito likes to take advantage of Peko’s kindness and clings to her. Peko doesn’t mind hanging out with Nagito but stares dagger into him when he’s being too forward with others (he doesn’t read social cues so he’s not gonna catch it). Nagito thinks of himself as a diet Fuyuhiko. As long as Peko provides support, he'll look out for her.

Teruteru - He's super turned on by Peko but gets flustered when she genuinely cares about him (turns out he does not have a mommy kink). Peko enjoys Teruteru teaching her about cooking so the two eventually bond over that.

Imposter - Peko’s best friend on the island. They both relate to not knowing who they’re supposed to be. At the same time, they don’t see each other as just victims. They’re both people trying to grow and become better. When these two are together some say they're TOO COOL (actually Ibuki is the only one that said this)

Mahiru - Mahiru has a giant crush on Peko. At first she believe she knows what’s best for her and tries to takes her away from Fuyuhiko. Once she accepts Peko doesn’t want her help, she tries to be happy for Peko and Fuyuhiko.

Hiyoko: Is jealous of Peko so she lashes out at her a lot. Originally it was for looking mature/sexy and gardening Mahiru’s attraction. But after she learned of Peko’s past, she’s jealous that she didn’t have her own bodyguard to protect her from the multiple assassination attacks she went through.

Ibuki: Queerplatonic, they kiss A LOT. Ibuki loves seeing Peko awkwardly cheer for her at concerts (imagine Pearl from Steven Universe type of awkward) Peko made Ibuki realize that quiet is okay. Because only when it’s quiet, she can hear Peko’s heart beat speed up. I think they would be a cute fling but these two come from two different worlds. Ibuki is a party rocking planet and Peko is a silent moon. Maybe if the stars aligned they could've made it work. But that doesn't mean you can't appreciate eclipses.

Mikan: Mikan’s ability to read micro facial expressions helps her interpret a lot of Peko’s hidden emotions. Peko likes Mikan but Mikan mistaken Peko’s quietness with secret resentment (she can read that Peko isn’t mad but sometimes mental illness makes you ignore facts). Mikan is had to get close to and Peko doesn't have the social understanding to truly know her.

Gundham: He has adopted her as his own. He feels the need to protect this person on par with his traumatic backstory. She must realize this too, that’s why she keeps flocking to him and his four dark devas. Meanwhile Peko only understands 50% of what he’s saying but she’s trying. Sonia (and Gonta in non despair AU) has to interpret sometimes. Giant Big Brother and Little Sister energy.

Sonia: Sonia is the extrovert who adopts an introvert. Sonia wants to hang out with all her classmates and one of the few who doesn't see Peko cool demeanor as disinterest. Sonia is the only one who can relate to Peko's isolation and only she knows the kind of loneliness that can come with being around others. Peko doesn't realize this on her part and it hurts Sonia. But Sonia doesn't stop trying.

Kazuichi: Scared and aroused by Peko. I head anon one time his trash picking robot accidentally took Peko’s sword and it exploded. Kazuichi was so scared to admit it to Peko but once he did - Peko was more concerned about him than her sword. He’s convinced she’s in love with him and begs Fuyuhiko to ask her out for him. Peko bluntly declines.

Nekomaru - Nekomaru passionately talks with Peko about a lot of things. At first it was Kendo, then it was training, proper diet, and it spiraled into Nekomaru talking excitably about his day. Peko is a good listener but even she can go deaf from all the yelling. Ibuki bails her out sometimes. I think Nekomaru and Sonia are the only people who know how to push Peko out of her comfort zone without overstepping. Ibuki can be too excited in getting Peko to do new things. Hajime and Chiaki doesn't see a problem with Peko doing her own thing.

Akane - The girls bond over being asexual together. No talk about love or mushy stuff. They talk with battle! At least according to Akane. Peko is hesitant to train with Akane because she believes only someone strong like Sakura could handle her blade. Akane takes that as an open challenge and tries to blindside Peko until she takes her seriously. Akane does have to learn boundaries at one point. Maybe the person who grew up in constant danger doesn't want to keep looking over her shoulders in case her classmates attack her.

Fuyuhiko - Ultimately, though everything, this blog will always be a Kuzu/Peko blog. Growing up, Fuyuhiko developed a crush on Peko but never acted on it. Only after a chance conversation with Sakura about what being in love is like, Peko realized in middle school she is in love with Fuyuhiko. By that point their relationship is strained. Fuyuhiko is constantly telling Peko he doesn't need a tool and pretend they don't know each other. Peko doesn't want to be forgotten by Fuyuhiko, this person she spent everyday with. She planned on asking him out, as equals, but then Twilight Syndrome Murder happened. There was no time for love when there was so much hate in his heart. Eventually after everything, the two realizes they need each other. Fuyuhiko only pushed Peko away because he thought she couldn't grow as a person if she was constantly worried about him. Peko realizes she can still care and protect Fuyuhiko as a fellow warrior by his side. These two understand each other so well that they don't need to talk. But this also leads to terrible miscommunications.

I’m not sure if you are cherry picking data or what but saying that lukolas are calm and kind is pretty unhinged? They create a hate storm angtime Jake or Antonia pop up. I’ve honestly never seen worse hate in my admittedly short fandom life. They are the ppl behind the troll IG accounts and even on tumblr they send each other links and say “lol” abt said troll account. “Jake holes” on the other hand aren’t hating on anyone from what I’ve seen, they are certainly excited abt their “couple” but they aren’t hateful. I’m so interested that you’ve had a different experience bc I follow the big lukola blogs and it’s like a 24/7 hate fest, especially in the past 1-2 weeks

Thank you for this ask. To clarify: I’ve never said all Lukolas are kind or calm. I’ve consistently called out harmful behaviour across the board - including Lukola’s role in spreading conspiracy theories, trolling, and directing hate towards people. That kind of behaviour isn’t okay - and I’ve said that multiple times.

But I also make space to acknowledge the people who’ve stayed kind - the ones who quietly root for Luke and Nicola without harassing others or sending anonymous hate. Just because I’ve acknowledged that kindness doesn’t mean I’m blind to the toxicity in other corners of the ship.

I don’t go searching through Lukola blogs. I’m not a shipper - I’ve never been. I’ve always said I exist a bit on the outside of this fandom. And what I speak to most is my direct experience. The reality is that the majority of the hate I’ve personally received - in my inbox, on my blog - has come from the Nicola and Jake camp. That doesn’t mean Lukola-related harm isn’t real (it absolutely is).

When I say I receive hate, I’m talking about what lands directly in my inbox. That’s the window I’m working from. And even when I have criticized Lukola behaviour (which I have, repeatedly), those individuals haven’t responded with the same volume or vitriol in my Asks.

So yes - bad behaviour exists on all sides. Yes - I’ve called out Lukola-driven hate. But acknowledging those who’ve treated me with grace doesn’t erase that criticism.
