not yet (ksm x gn!Reader)
pairing: Seungmin x reader
genres/au/rating: angst, fluff, friends (idiots) to lovers, pg
summary: "Not yet" was a phrase that came to define Seungmin's life for the longest time. Until you came along, and changed everything.
warnings:Â swearing, kind of fake dating, emotionally stunted Seungmin, kissing, a smol but significant fight, Minho being a menace but also the voice of reason
word count: 2.8k
a/n: this was something cute I wrote on a whim and tell me why my whole heart is fluttering (probably bc Seungmin is bias wrecking me a lot lately). This is me being a space and time nerd on main, but I imagine Seungmin as lowkey a math nerd in this too. it'll make sense when you read! i hope you enjoy!
To Kim Seungmin time was always infinite, the universe stretching out like a vast abyss that he sought to understand. Heâd grumble when his mother stretched the too-tight party hat around his ears on every birthday growing up. Because what was the point, when every day was a birthday for someone or something?
An infinite series of moments made way for an infinite number of chances, and Seungmin became fearless. Fearless because there was no way he could mess up at life, not when there would always be another chance to try again later.
And so, Seungminâs favourite phrase, whenever his mother asked him to do anything, was ânot yet.â
It was a phrase that came to define his life for the longest time. Until you came along, and changed everything.
âSeungminnie, donât you ever get tired of showing up to dinner alone?â his mother laments over the yukgaejang, while Seungmin stares blankly at her, unable to comprehend her question. What did she mean, alone? The whole point of family dinners was so he wouldnât have to resort to eating ramen in the dim light of his own apartment, or risk begging Minho for home-cooked food, fearing the smirk on his older roommateâs face.
As if on cue, the doorbell sounds, and Seungmin is the first one up, spoon clattering on the table and stew abandoned. Within a few strides, heâs swinging the door open, only to be met with burning in his nose and scratching in his throat, the tell-tale signs of a sneeze making themselves known.
Your face peeks out from behind the flowers, flustered and eyes growing wide with concern.
âDamn it, I thought you wouldnât be allergic to these ones,â you whine, and Seungmin sniffles, ushering you inside. âSometimes I think youâre faking it, Minnie.â
â___!â his mother runs to the door at the sound of your voice, nearly smushing the bouquet as she wraps you in the biggest hug. âWe havenât seen you in so long, I made extra yukgaejang, come!â
And as she leads you by the hand into the dining room, Seungmin hangs back, a smug smile on his face. The universe had his back, once again.
The dinner table conversation turns lively once again, his parents and sister pestering you with updates about your life in the city, like you and Seungmin arenât still attached at the hip like you were when you were children.
Thereâs a lull in the conversation, silence falling over the table with only the clanging of utensils to fill the void, broken only by a heavy sigh. Seungmin knows whatâs coming next, and so do you, judging by the way you sink into your seat.
âI always thought the two of you would end up together,â his mother blurts out, tears forming in her eyes.
You pat her on the back, dancing around her confession, telling her youâll always be ready to show up uninvited to dinner as long as thereâs an extra bowl of yukgaejang waiting, and all Seungmin can do is stare into his bowl.
No matter how many times he reminded her that you were just friends, that the realistic probability of you and Seungmin dating moved closer and closer to zero the older you grew, she stubbornly refused to give up hope.Â
Sheâd throw it back in his face, repeating his favourite phrase. âNot yet.â
And Seungmin couldnât tell her maybe some things were just meant to never come to life.Â
The two of you walk back towards your apartments in silence, your shadows dancing on the sidewalk, creating a far livelier scene than the comfortable silence that exists between you.
Seungmin doesnât notice youâve fallen behind until heâs at least ten paces ahead of you, turning back to see your lonely figure under a streetlight, staring up at the stars. He resists the normal impulse in his brain to leave you behind, knowing youâll catch up, and instead backtracks, stopping to stand next you.
âDo you really think itâd be so bad?â you ask the darkness, not turning to meet Seungminâs eyes. âIf we were to actually date?â
Seungminâs mind is sent reeling at your confession, the neat box in which heâd compartmentalized your relationship suddenly bursting open, exploding with chaos.
âWeâre getting older, Minnie,â you ponder. âDonât you ever feel like youâre running out of time?â
Seungminâs face darkens, and he knows he canât answer the question without hurting your feelings. Because to him, time was never something heâd run out of. If he fucked something up, thereâd always be something new, something better waiting for him on the horizon.
âYou shouldnât think like this, ____,â he breathes out. âYou just havenât found the right person yet.â
The two of you are sitting on the sidewalk now, long legs hanging off the curb. Seungmin instinctively pulls you into his side, making sure your body is shielded from any stray passerby that happen to be inhabiting the sidewalk or the wild people in the bike lane.Â
âItâs always yet, Seungmin, but what about now? What are we doing with our lives?â
Seungminâs never thought about now. Heâs thought about the past, like the time he showed up to your house on your 16th birthday, a copy of your favourite novel clutched behind his back. Only to go ungifted when youâd barreled into his arms, raving over the used car your parents had gotten. Heâd thought a lot about the future, the two of you going on to end up with faceless partners, settling down in houses whose walls he couldnât picture, kids whose names he hadnât thought out, maybe a dog or a cat.Â
But he never stopped to think about the present, and looking into your eyes, he remembers exactly why. It terrified him, the faint glistening of tears, the way your breathing sped up, your fists clenching and unclenching. And heâd never had good advice to give, just always ranting on about how âtomorrow is a new day.â
Seungmin bows his head, long strands of hair falling into his face, hopes you donât see the way his own lip quivers when he thinks about right now, the two of you sitting on a city sidewalk, together but still lonely.
âOkay,â he manages to choke out, and your head whips around in shock.
âWhat do you mean, okay?â you sniffle, and Seungmin pinches the bridge of his nose.
âLetâs do it. Letâs try dating.â
He feels your body go still next to him, arm going limp when you suddenly decide to let go, hoisting yourself up.
âMinnie, I was just kidding when I said that. You donât have to date me if you donât want to.â
âWho said I didnât want to? I mean try, at least?â Seungmin rises up to his feet, heart thundering at the blank look on your face. âIf we try and it doesnât work, thereâs always another chance, right?â
Your face twists in a strange expression, so brief Seungmin could have almost imagined it, before you let out a dazzling smile, one Seungmin thinks rivals even the brightest star he sees in the sky tonight.
âRight.â
âYouâre actually fucking insane,â Minho mumbles through a mouth stuffed full with dumplings, stealing the container away when Seungmin reaches over with his chopsticks. âI shouldnât be offering you food, I should be signing you up for therapy.
âEverybody always wants ____ and I to end up together,â Seungmin grumbles, snatching a dumpling anyway, much to Minhoâs dismay. âNow that we actually decide to date, itâs suddenly a problem?â
âDating isnât some science experiment, okay!â Minho grows flustered, the tips of his ears turning red. âIt involves real people, and real feelings! Have you even asked ____ if theyâre okay with this?â
You were fine, Seungmin convinced himself. In fact youâd been exceedingly chipper, brighter than usual, chatting about anything and everything under the sun. It gave Seungmin confidence that maybe this could work. That maybe things didnât have to change between you two, because maybe youâd been right for each other all along and heâd just missed it.
His phone vibrates with a text from you, and Seungmin is shoving the last dumpling in his mouth, ignoring Minhoâs disapproving look as he throws his coat over his shoulders, bounding down the stairs to meet you outside his apartment.
âWant to go to a coffee shopââ the air is knocked out of your lungs when Seungmin crushes you in a hug, your fists banging on his back to let you go ten seconds later. Your face is flushed, an eyebrow raised in confusion, and Seungmin thinks youâve never looked prettier.
âIsnât that what couples do when they see each other?â Seungmin asks innocently, only to be met with a sigh.
âYouâre paying for my coffee today,â you grumble.Â
Dating you is easier than Seungmin imagined â the years of friendship provided enough experience in how to spend time together, but now he gets to tell everyone that youâre together together. He thinks his motherâs joyful scream nearly splits his eardrums the moment she finds out, rushing to the phone to dial up your own mother. The conversation between them lasts a good hour and a half, and a smile pricks at Seungminâs lips at the pride in her voice.
He gets to catch you off guard by randomly deciding to pay for your smoothie, or to wrap an arm lazily around your waist when youâre talking to someone, the subtle squeak in your voice sending his heart aflutter.
Dating you is everything Seungmin could have imagined and more, because those infinite moments heâd always thought about, are moments spent making you laugh at his deadpan jokes, moments spent clinging to your back, begging you to make him some food since Minho stubbornly refuses to, and he thinks thereâs no way he could mess this up.
Until he kisses you. The two of you are cuddled up on the couch, the soft soundtrack of the film youâd chosen together lulling Seungmin to sleep in your lap, his eyes heavy-lidded. Itâs when your leg shifts that Seungmin wakes up, sleepy eyes blinking up at you, only to realize your hand is resting against his cheek, thumb softly stroking his skin. He wonders if the stars in your eyes are from the reflection of the movie on the screen, or whether they mirror the ones in his own.Â
Seungmin moves without thinking, his forehead collapsing against your own, and he feels your surprised gasp against his cheek before his lips are brushing against yours softly. Warmth blooms where your fingertips still rest on his cheek, lighting up his entire body with an unspoken feeling.Â
He breaks away from you, still holding you close, but the smile that grazes his lips is gone as soon as it appeared, your downcast face in front of him. Seungmin waits one second, then two, then a whole minute, but it feels like an infinity while he wills you to meet his eyes.
âI canât do this Minnie,â you finally whisper, your voice bubbling and breaking, a lone tear streaming down your face.
âI donât understand,â the words feel heavy on Seungminâs tongue, like heâs numb and struggling to get them out. It was just one moment, thereâd be another that followed, but how could everything have gone wrong?
âI canât keep pretending like this doesnât mean something to me,â you finally let go of his hoodie, and Seungmin felt the cold he hadnât noticed before seep in. âTo you, this is all infinite, like itâs always been. Thereâs always a yet, because every moment is temporary. Itâs meaningless when you have tomorrow to worry about, right? Wondering where weâll go on our next date or what random thing youâll do next to knock the breath out of me?â
âBut this,â you continue. âRight here, right now, it isnât just something to me. Itâs everything. Itâs everything because I love you and because Iâve always loved you and because youâve never been able to see that in your infinity, there has to be some kind of beginning and end. And youâre it for me. But Iâll never be enough for you.â
Seungmin wants to tell you youâre wrong, that heâs stopped thinking about infinity and mere moments, because he realized the same thing, that he never started actually paying attention to time until he met you, and you injected all the moments of his life with meaning. But the words that come out instead are wrong, so wrong.
âYouâll get another chance,â he watches you flinch at his words, rushing to slip on your shoes. You linger at the door, hand twisting around the doorknob. âYou just havenât met the right person yet.â
The knob clicks, and the door slams. And Seungmin is left alone, in the vast abyss of his infinity once more.
Minho spares him the lecture, and Seungmin is grateful. He doesnât need to hear the âI told you soâ, doesnât need to face his motherâs concerned face when she asks why you havenât been coming by lately. The loneliness cuts into him like a knife, and he wonders if the imaginary future heâd dreamed of all his life would be enough to take the pain of right now away.
The weather grows colder, and Seungminâs heart freezes along with it. Time stretches out before him as he looks at his phone, waiting for a call or a text, teasing him, threatening him, as if to say - donât you wish you had enough?
He spends his days staring out the window, watching the world pass by around him, realizing heâs tired of moving alongside it without you by his side. And then the snow begins to fall, a few flakes to start out, until it turns into a sea of white, and he canât even see outside anymore.
The door clicks softly behind him, Minhoâs voice echoing behind him while he stomps the snow from his boots.
âItâs really coming down out there,â Minho pauses, his voice clipped. âI saw ____ at the grocery store just now.â
Seungminâs head whips around at the mention of you, but Minho, ever the menace, keeps his mouth shut, not knowing whether the next sentence that leaves his mouth will send Seungmin spiralling or not.
Itâs silent between them for a few moments, Minho putting away his food in the kitchen cupboard, while Seungmin runs through endless scenarios in his head about whether youâre happy or sad, whether youâre doing fine or falling apart, whether leaving tore your heart in pieces as much as it did his.
And thatâs when he spots it, tucked between the cushions of the couch. Your scarf, blue patterned and worn. You must have left it the last time you were here.
Seungmin knows that rationally, youâd probably have a backup scarf. Knows that rationally, with how much heâd chewed your head off about the future, that youâd have planned ahead.
But youâd never been the rational one.
Minho jumps in surprise when Seungmin leaps to his feet, yanking the scarf out from the couch.
âItâs cold outside,â Seungmin breathes out, and Minho raises an eyebrow. âRight now. Right now itâs cold outside, and ___ left their scarf here, and they, and Iâ shit!â
Heâs running out the door before Minho can stop him, your scarf against his chest like itâs a lifeline.
. . .Â
He sees you just outside the grocery store, struggling with the heavy load of groceries youâd bought for the storm. The tiny shiver that rakes down your spine is enough to send him running your way.
âSeungmin?â you call out to him in shock, seeing his frantic figure bound towards you in the snow.
âYour scarf,â he heaves, shoving the crumpled fabric into your hands. âYou left your scarf.â
âMinnie,â you canât help the nickname that slips out. âItâs okay, I have another one for next timeââ
âThis isnât about next time,â Seungmin interrupts you, wrapping his arms around you, not caring that you drop your bags into the snow. âThis is about right now. And right now itâs snowing.â
âYeah,â your breath comes out in a fog. âIt is.â
âAnd right now,â Seungminâs voice cracks, unshed tears filling his eyes. âRight now I love you. I think I probably always have and I probably always will, but that doesnât matter. Youâre my past, youâll be my future, and I hope youâll be mine, right now in this moment.â
âWhat about not yet? The infinite possibilities of the universe?â You whisper, clutching his coat while he wraps the scarf around you.
âThe universe is infinite because youâre at the center of it - an infinite number of ways to make you smile, to be whatever you need, to tell you I love you. Youâre the beginning and the end, and everything in between.â
Your lips are crashing onto his, mouths colliding messily through the veil of your tears, and Seungmin never wants to let go. When you break apart, itâs to lay your head on his chest.
âCome home with me,â he whispers into your hair. âLet me make you some tea.â
You shake your head, burrowing into Seungminâs neck, humming your response.
âNot yet.â
a/n pt. 2: As always, any feedback or comments are much appreciated, but I appreciate you all anyway. Lots of love, Isi đ

Being Jackieshauna's Controversially Young GF
pairing: jackie taylor x r / shauna shipman x r note: yes, i will always manage to make it about jackieshauna.
Jackie definitely brings a âwe saw you from across the club and loved your vibeâ energy to the party, and youâre just kind of glancing at Shauna glaring at you over her shoulder. like, does her ass know that? Shaunaâs all for it, but the glower takes breaks for no one.
Shauna loudly refers to you as their daughter at least once to embarrass Jackie. preferably right after sheâs kissed you in the grocery store. Jackie tells her off for the whole drive back, but Shauna's ass does not care. hands at ten and two on the wheel and the smuggest fucking look on her face. loses the attitude when Jackie starts throwing blankets on the couch, but itâs over for her at that point.
Jackieâs introducing you to all her friends without shame, and Shaunaâs just daring someone to say something.
You start to wonder if Shaunaâs main reason for dating you is all the opportunities it gives her to embarrass Jackie. One of their friends asks where you met, and Shauna says something like, âJackie stole her from the cradle.â Jackieâs over there doing a spittake as she nearly chokes on her wine. she just loves to make Jackie squirm.
Now, if someone else makes a comment about it? Jackieâs going to have to drag her out of there or bloodâs going to be spilled.
Jackie insists on making you watch the "classics," but itâs mostly just beaches over and over again. she refuses to move on. Shaunaâs three glasses of wine in before the movie even starts. sheâs seen it so many times she can recite it line by line.
Shauna throws Star Wars in there, but itâs mostly just because she knows Jackie's sick and tired of watching it. Shauna's got to get revenge somehow.
Shauna comes up behind you and just stands there, glaring at anyone that tries to approach you. God forbid you mention having to meet someone at the library for a project. youâve never heard a more terrifying âOh?â in your entire life. sheâs dropping you off in her little minivan like your a child. talking about âIâll be back in two hours.â
Jackie consistently tries to match your schedule to stay up with you, but it's always lights out for her at 10 PM sharp, no matter how hard she tries. sheâs so competitive with it though, so sometimes the two of you just have to pretend youâre going to sleep so that Jackie wonât be an absolute nightmare in the morning. she wakes up once to find you in the living room doing something else after you've âgone to sleepâ and wonât speak to you for at least a day.
Shauna likes to teach you how to cook (spices who? ), but Jackie always hovers around giving bad advice. They end up bickering about it every time, and the food gets burned. Shaunaâs so frustrated she can barely look at Jackie, and Jackieâs ass is skipping over to the takeout menu drawer.
Jackie and Shauna have separate bank accounts just so Jackie can make Shauna pay for dates still. Itâs the small things.
Shaunaâs more self-conscious about initiating PDA, given that sheâs a lot more aware of the age difference in a way. Jackieâs always the one to initiate it first; whether itâs holding your hand or practically climbing on top of you, trust that Jackie does not care.
Jackieâs way too invested in any of your friend group gossip. sheâs expecting daily updates. Shauna âdoesnât careâ and yet still knows every detail. interesting.
Any argument Jackie is losing, she pulls the âlisten to your eldersâ card. Itâs the only time youâre ever allowed to acknowledge that sheâs older than you, unless itâs to call her a milf. sheâs partial to that, no matter how much she pretends not to.
Shauna tries to give you advice that you barely listen to because her life is a train wreck. Let's be honest, she pulled Jackie by accident. Who else was going to match her freak?
Jackieâs embarrassedly knowledgeable about slang for her age. youâre not sure what's worse: Shauna purposely using it wrong to embarrass you, or Jackie using it correctly at her advanced age.
Every gift youâve ever received from the two of them has been one that Jackie bought and put Shaunaâs name down on. Itâs not to say that Shauna canât get thoughtful gifts, but if itâs from the both of them, itâs really just from Jackie. Jackie thinks you donât notice, but she always overexaggerates Shaunaâs bad handwriting when signing the card. it goes from being slightly unreadable to looking like a five-year-old wrote it.
Jackie tries too hard with your friends and always comes off as the like âcool momâ type. sheâs out here offering snacks. shaunaâs making it awkward by asking one with a Nirvana shirt to name five songs.

Bi erasure in the fandoms
There are many types of biphobia among people, but I wanna talk about the least noticable type of it, which is super common and barely gets called out. "Headcanoning" canon/implied bisexual characters (mostly female, for some reason) as lesbians.
Usually they don't even portay it as a "headcanon", but just state that they are and make everyone believe this. And when they done, people even start call you lesbophobic for calling bi erasure our, bc It's suddenly you're the one who "erase" lesbians. And the funny thing is that a lot of those who state so, haven't even watched these shows and just have "heard" that these characters are "lesbians" and the continue misinformate everyone else. And that's awful and very harmful for bi community
Let's take some examples
1. Asami and Korra
Both are bisexual women who were in love with the same man and then broke up with him and started dating each other. Prolly the most heavily implied bisexuals ever. But what do people have problems with? Oh, they think that if a bi girl has broken up with a man, it means only that she realized she's lesbian. Not that her ex was a cheater, not that their relationship was toxic. No, they can break up only bc she had a comphet. There are no other options. And if a girl dates another girl, she's also 100% lesbian, bc bi girls are just "straights who wanna invade lgbt", right? Oh, yeah, also Korra is strong and muscle "lesbian stereotype" and Asami is "cold and lady-like" "lesbian stereotype" so yeah, It's absolutely makes them lesbians! â another example of why the stereotypes are actually harmful.
2. Poison Ivy (both in the show and in the comics)
Absolutely the same thing as with Korra and Asami, but is also a "mean lesbian stereotype" which is basically the strongest stereotype, so yeah. Ivy dated Kite man and was actually attracted to him. She liked kissing me and enjoyed his company. The only thing that made her break up with Kite man is that he wasn't someone she saw her future with. He didn't fit her and she knew who did - Harley, her girlfriend. Even when Ivy knew she was attracted to Harley (bc she litterally cheated with her), she still knew she is attracted to Kite man and even so planned their wedding, but being attracted â being soulmates, unfortunately. People also for some reason think that just bc Ivy hates men, it means she has to be lesbian. Ig they don't know there are bi or even straight girls who hate men. Like febfems (bi girls who refuse to date men for political reasons and their safety) don't exist. Like you can't be attracted to someone you hate.
And after all, Ivy dating Kite Man (and Dan Back) isn't even the main reason she's bisexual. Besides it, she was confirmed to be bisexual multipe times by many different authors. She's canon bi in almost every universe. And the way some new authors are trying to change her sexuality is a clearest bi erasure. And It's also funny, cuz if someone ever dared to turn a canon lesbian character into bisexual, everyone would immidiatly lose it. But when they do the same with bisexuals, It's suddenly being ignored. Wow.
3. Sasha Waybright
Thankfully the last time I don't see this so often (mb bc the fandom is dying tho), but just when everyone's favourite "mean lesbian" was confirmed to be bisexual, everyone went wild... Yeah, their favourite stereotype was broken. Does it mean they started to understand that stereotypes don't define sexuality and that even mean girls can like men? Ofc not! They obviously started to say that she was confirmed as bi bc: 1. Disney didn't want to let her be lesbian 2. Mate did it only to make the fandom mad
Lmao. They really gonna believe anything but that a character can just be...bisexual. And even so, they keep "headcanoning" her as lesbian. I've even heard people who were saying she had a "comphet" and will realize she's lesbian in the future. That's not even funny, but it does make me laugh
4. Princess Bubblegum
Oh, I love the way the whole tik tok fandom suddenly started to call Bubblegum "canon lesbian" just bc someone has said so and others have spread it up. Ig I should be thankful, that they at least recognize Marcelin being bisexual, huh?
Anyways, the thing is that Bubblegum, just as much as Marcelin was heavily implied to be bisexual. She litterally had an ex bf and for those who love calling every bi character with ex bfs lesbians with comphet, besides that Bubblegum was also in love with Finn in the episode when she turned 13. She litterally kissed him there and has said she wishes she could stay this way with him. It was directly shown throught the whole show that's the only reason why Finn's feelings are one sided is that Bubblegum is way older than him. And in the episode "Too young" it was directly confirmed. But people are still gonna call her lesbian just...bc? I don't even know why, she doesn't even fit stereotypes that much. Mb they decided to "ruin stereotypes" by it? Or mb they just decided that since6she rejected Finn (a litteral child) it means she can't be attracted to men at all? This logic is even worse. But God only knows what is in their heads
5. Yang Xiao long
Oh, yeah, this one is usually super objectionable bc she was showing interest in men basically only in v1 and then started dating Blake. And if Blake being bi was so clear that there are basically no people denying it or bc she fits bi stereotypes, who knows, however we should remember that bisexuals don't have to have equal attraction to everyone (like Blake, who had 2 male and 2 female love interests) and they don't have to date all genders to prove their attraction.
But there are many evidences of Yang being attracted to men too.
In the whole Yellow Trailer Yang actively flirts with a man
In ep3v1 she happily gazas on shirtless men and then, when Ruby says "father wouldn't approve it" she answers (I know, I fo) â which already would be enought to confirm her attraction to men
But in the same volume, when the team decorates their room, when Yang hangs a poster with a male band of the artists she's attracted too, it was shown that she liked men as well.
Yeah, I got that both the fandom and Roosters really love to forget everything that was in v1-2, but It's a fact that Yang is bisexual as well as Blake. But wait, she's a "strong lesbian stereotype", right!!! So let's ignore a bi representation, sure!
6. Sunset shimmer
Here's a girl, who canonically has dated a man and was officially confirmed to be bisexual by the author in Twitter. So why do people keep "headcanoning" her as lesbian? Oh, bc she's SUNSET and has flags of lesbian colors. Like "Sunset" was invented by lesbian flag, yeah. And what's the funniest thing in this perfect argument is that Sunset Shimmer was created even before the sunset lesbian flag designed!
And, yeah, I could take the "she has said that she didn't like Flash so it was a comphet/pretending" thing, but the problem is that it still litterally was confirmed by the author himself that Sunset is bisexual. And in the further show and even movie we can see clear signs of them still having a thing for each other. Like Sunset winks to him and many of their other interactions, but they can be read in a friends way as well ofc, which doesn't make her any less of canon bi!
7. Clawdeen Wolf
Her situation is exactly like Yang's. Since not so long time ago Clawdeen was confirmed to be lgbt and there was announced a comic about her and Toralei's romantic relationship, everyone started yelling that she's "canon lesbian" now. However it was only confirmed that she's wlw, not lesbian. And wlw includes these little unknown people called bisexuals.
But why do I say she's bi, but not lesbian? Well, bc it was clearly shown in the show and the movies that she's attracted to men. Yeah, she's a bit less obsessed with them than others and doesn't have a bf, however her feelings for many of them were obvious. And it was no where near a comphet. No, she was exactly attracted to them, that's a fact. So for now, she's a heavily implied bi character who had feelings for boys and who is dating a girl, just like Yang. And calling her lesbian is kinda biphobic
8. Kagami Tsurugi
A canon bisexual character, who's love to both Marinette and Adrian was confirmed in official synopsis for s5 and official show bible. She was shown to have a clearest attraction to Adrian and Felix, 2 men. Even if after she has broken up with Adrian (and no, not bc she realized she was lesbian, but bc he has fucking lied to her face and has broken up her heart) some people got an idea of her being a "lesbian with a comphet", this idea was destroyed again by her new attraction to Felix, another man.
However people are still gonna ignore her canon sexuality and call her a lesbian, by using "comphet" as a justification, or even by turning Felix and Adrian into transwomen, which isn't a justification to erase bi representation either anyways!
It's especially hurting since she's my favourite character I strongly relate to tho
9. Sayaka
Omg, Madoka Magica is an anime that includes girls who like girls. Almost all of the main characters are implied to be lesbians. But you know who's being headcanoned as a lesbian the most?? That's right! The only girl that likes boys too! What an irony, yeah? Sayaka has a huge romantic tension with Kyoka and has a canon crush on her male childhood friend â Kyosuke. So we can have the only bi rep out of 5 wlw girls. Ofc this rep was taken from us, bc some people wanna headcanon (or even impose it as canon) that the only bisexual girl is a lesbian with a comphet! Sure, yeah. Again, my favourite excuse for bi erasure, nothing's new, lol
10. Utena and Anthy
Another bisexual couple, who's coded sexuality is always getting erased. Uthena and Anthy love each other and even shared a kiss in one of the endings. The status of their relationship wasn't directly stated in anime, however everyone who has eyes can see their clear romantic and not only tension. Utena's another love interest is Touga, who was her childhood love who she was shown to have super clearest attraction throught the anime, and this attraction has no platonic explanation, so yeah, Utena ia attracted to both men and women and It's canon. The same goes for Anthy: she had strong feelings for Dios. Both characters are bi-coded and comphet was never there. People are just trying to use it as an excuse to bi erasure bc they want all wlw characters to be lesbians, that's all.
So, if someone is gonna say that I'm "denying comphet" or any other shit like that, no, I know it exists and I know a lot of lesbians go throught it and it deserves a representation too, but in such cases the difference between comphet and an actual attraction to men is so clear and you know that.
There are also examples of the characters who had or could have comphet:
Like Apple White, who thought she supposed to like Daring just bc he's "her destiny", but she never liked him (and even in her bio she says that just bc they have to marry, it doesn't mean they're dating) and her actual "true love", who's kiss made Apple wake up was Darling, his sister. And It's an actually good example of comphet bc of the society pressure. Or Yuzu (even tho for some reason some people still think she's bi) who was said to never be in love with anyone untill her step-sister, she even lied to her friends about having boyfriends bc she thought there was smth wrong with her since she isn't attracted to men. Also Velma and etc. Unfortunately there aren't that many examples, but even with these ones the difference between a lesbian with a comphet and a bisexual girl is obvious, so yeah, you just want an excuse to erase bisexuals and turn them into lesbians and it will never be okay

Hesitate to call
Lived to see you throwing Me aside. That fought Like nettled fish inside me. Saw you throbbing In my syrups. Saw you sleep. And lived to see That all that all flushed down The refuse. Done? It lives in me. You live in me. Malignant. Love, you ever want me, donât.
Louise GlĂŒck, The First Five Books of Poems
Andrew checked his appearance in the mirror for what seemed to be the hundredth time.
He was nervous beyond reason, after all he was heading to a restaurant to see Sam. And after a long-term relationship, he shouldnât have felt so troubled by it. But things were different now, things were⊠complicated, to say the least.
Still, he heaved a sigh, checked his appearance once more. He had let his hair loose, had put on contacts, was wearing a black shirt and some dark jeans. He looked tired, exhausted even. Work was a lot at the moment, he had a thousand things to do. He still struggled to sleep, was still tortured with thoughts and dreams of Sam, of her leaving, of her loving someone else.
November was ending, and with it, the remnants of Andrewâs and Samâs plans. PlansâŠ
A weekend in Kerry in September. Saimhan with friends. Now, Andrew should be packing. He should be choosing clothes, not for an evening in a restaurant, but for a weekend in Glasgow. A flight late at night leaving from Dublin, another one during the night between Sunday and Monday. And in between, a couple of days just for them, spent eating, visiting museums, seeing the sights, walking around the town. A night in a hotel, one she had chosen, spent on filling their hearts with love and their bodies with lust and desire.
He looked at his reflection again, stared right into his own hazel eyes. They were greener than usual, probably because wearing contacts made his eyes water. He would have been more comfortable with glasses, more relaxed as well, more himself, in a way.
He blinked tears away as a thought crossed his mind, a painful one he wished he could have kept at bay, but he didnât have the strength for that. Beating himself up was a habit, since childhood. There were thoughts sometimes that formed in his mind that brought him pain, but he listened anyway. Sometimes they were quiet, sometimes they were deafening. These days they were loud and clear.
He went to get his coat, grab his car keys, get ready to leave. He petted Elwood, told him to be a good boy, that he would soon be home. The thought followed him outside his home.
Being himself was never enough for Sam to love him.
Christ, Sam was so beautifulâŠ
It was breaking his heart that they werenât on a date. As he entered the restaurant, saw her sitting at a table waiting for him, Andrew was reminded of hundreds of evenings spent like this, going on a date in a restaurant, at the cinema, it didnât even matter where. At the end, they didnât go out much anymore. Sam always seemed to be too busy for that. At the time, Andrew thought it was only because of her job. Now, he wondered if maybe she had not already started to give up on them.
But he hadnât. To this day, he hadnât given up on themâŠ
He kept on admiring her for a few more seconds, until the rest of the table was revealed to him, and the illusion waned. You were there too, facing Frank. The restaurant was posh, he felt a little uneasy in this atmosphere. He wouldnât have chosen such a place for a date, but he had no doubt that Sam liked it.
He forced a smile as he approached, was greeted warmly by Frank, the first one who spotted him as he approached. You turned on your chair to greet him with a relieved smile, and his heart made a happy jump at the sight of you. He had an ally tonight, he wasnât on his ownâŠ
âYouâre late.â
He turned to Sam, his heart dropping again. Her tone was flat, emotionless, and he knew her enough to be aware that it was worse than annoyance. She was angry. He struggled to swallow.
âYeah, sorry⊠Had some stuff to take care of before coming.â
She rolled her eyes, knowing it was a lie. Or well, it wasnât a lie, but the real reason was simply that Andrew was always late. To everything. He couldnât do much about it; if left unattended, he simply lost track of time. The alarms he had set up had done little to help him tonight. He didnât add anything, merely took a seat.
âHa, no worries!â Frank reassured him, and Andrew could tell that he was nervous and willing to make Andrew feel welcome. As a result, Andrew was highly uncomfortable.
âThe food looks⊠interesting,â you commented, trying to drag the conversation away from Andrew, and he was grateful for it.
âThe oysters are particularly good!â Frank recommended.
You said nothing, but Andrew frowned.
You⊠hadnât you told him once that you werenât such a fan of seafood?
Indeed, when you chose what to eat, you didnât follow Frankâs advice at all.
Conversation drifted towards work, and your respective lives. Catching up or getting to know each other.
And Andrew understood Frankâs appeal tonight, as he watched him lead the conversation. He was louder than Andrew ever was, bright, clearly extraverted, longing for peopleâs attention. He was funny, charming. And handsome, that too, Andrew couldnât deny that either. His complete opposite. Average height, muscles that threatened the fabric of his sleeves while he passionately talked about his work and moved his hands around, blond with electric blue eyes.
So⊠that was what Sam longed for? What had made you fall for him?
Andrew tried not to think this way. There was nothing he could do about his physical appearance, his ridiculous height, his gangly stature⊠there was no need to torture himself over that. He could show that he took care of Sam though. That he paid attention to her. That he loved herâŠ
Because Frank didnât seem to care all that much. Andrew saw it as you talked about your work, about how nervous you were as you got ready to give your students their first test of the year. And if Andrew was intently listening, Frank was clearly uninterested. He drew the conversation away from your job as soon as he could, offering encouraging words, and quickly moving on. You smiled, but you werenât fooled. Andrew saw it in the way your gaze saddened, in the way the excitement that had been glimmering there died out instantly. His heart ached at the sight. And when Frank spoke again, Andrew didnât care.
âWill you set a limit for the length required for the essay?â
Frank grew quiet, frowned. You turned to Andrew, clearly surprised by his question.
âErm⊠I havenât decided yet. I usually donât.â
âOnce a student gave me a twenty-pages long essayâŠâ
âTwenty pages?!â
âYeah⊠she was thorough, for sure.â
âDid you read the whole thing?â
âOf course. And now I set a limited word count.â
You chuckled, nodded.
âMaybe I should do that. What about your class about Yeats? Have you decided on a subject for an essay?â
âIâm still hesitating⊠I want to prepare one about Yeatsâs involvement in the Irish Literary Revival⊠but I could choose one of his love poems about Maud Gonne too.â
You chuckled.
âWhy do I feel like theyâll hear a lot about No Second TroyâŠâ
âI love that poem.â
âAnyone who speaks of literature with you for more than ten minutes knows that,â you teased. âItâs a short poem to study, though.â
âYeah⊠but that means they would really have to work on each line, instead of simply skipping whatever element they struggle with.â
âTrue.â
âI feel like it would be easier for them to work on the more political side of Yeatsâs work during exam season. The material is easier, and weâll go thoroughly through the most important aspects of these texts in class. So⊠I think Iâll ask them to work on love poems at home.â
âSounds like a good idea.â
You exchanged a smile. When Andrew looked up at Frank and Sam, they had stopped listening and were both eating their meal in silence. Sam was looking at something on her phone, a habit she had developed in the past couple of years.
She hadnât asked him about his job. She hadnât asked him if he wrote, how he felt, if he was suffering because of her. Perhaps she didnât want to hear his answers. Perhaps she didnât really care. Andrew was starting to have doubts. The more the evening was progressing, the more he realised that she didnât seem to care. Sam and Andrew had spent years together, but she wasnât listening as he spoke of his work, of the things he loved most on Earth.
Did she even care at all about him anymore? She used to listen to him talk about music and poetry for hours, back when they were studentsâŠ
Or did she? She had never liked his own writing, but he thought she listened when he spoke of what he loved, still. She didnât seem willing to make an effort these days⊠but then again, they werenât together anymore. So, why would she?
âIâve listened to your record, by the way!â
Andrew blinked, looked at you again.
âWhat?â
âDuke Ellington and John Coltrane. Iâve listened to it.â
He raised a surprised eyebrow.
âDid you? Really?â
You nodded, an excited smile on your lips.
âOf course! Iâm going to sound very basic, I think In a Sentimental Mood was my favourite⊠although I really loved My Little Brown Book too.â
His mouth broke into a bright grin.
âGrand! Like⊠thatâs grand! Iâm glad you liked it.â
Frank stared at you for a moment.
âWho are you talking about?â he asked, trying to slither in the conversation.
âAndy recommended me some music! I have a whole list at this point,â you teased, nudging him with your elbow and making him chuckle and blush.
âItâs Jazz,â Andrew explained. âSome of the greatest, honestly.â
Sam heaved a sigh, still focused on her screen.
âOh⊠nice,â Frank nodded, although he didnât sound convincing at all.
âI really liked it a lot,â you went on. âI donât really have the vocabulary to describe it, like⊠on a technical point of view, you know? But I liked it. It was very⊠like⊠drawing me in, in a way. There was tension, and then once I was trapped in the song, there was so much emotion there⊠And itâs unusual for me to be so focused when listening to instrumental music. I have a busy brain, I get distracted easily.â
âYeah, I know what you mean. I have a busy brain too⊠but thatâs what Blues and Jazz do to me. They kind of⊠shush my brain. Make it go quiet.â
âYeah, exactly.â
âYou like music, then, Andy?â
Andrew looked at Frank again, wanted to correct him and ask to be called Andrew⊠but he didnât want to seem rude. He didnât like it, though, how he used his nickname.
âYeah, a lot.â
âAndy wanted to be a musician, back in the days,â Sam intervened, putting her phone down again.
âReally? What instrument do you play?â
âI sing, mostly⊠play guitar too.â
âBut you didnât make a career out of it? Not that itâs surprising, itâs a tough field to work in. Most people canât make a living out of it. Like⊠thereâs so much competition, so few who actually get to make it. It must be a tough life.â
âA few of his friends made it though, and he had the talent for it,â Sam went on. âBut Andy is not one to compromise easily.â
Andrew stared at her with a raised eyebrow.
âWhat do you mean by that?â
She shrugged.
âYou could have had a record deal, had you accepted to change a few things about your songs.â
Andrew huffed, he could barely believe his earsâŠ
âThere was never an opportunity for me to record my own songs, and you know that. I didnât want to sing those⊠attempts at pop hits that felt soulless to me.â
âAnd you didnât get a record deal.â
âI didnât want that kind of deal. I wanted to record the songs I had written.â
She didnât say a thing, but her thoughts were loud enough for Andrew to guess them.
And then you didnât record any of those either.
âWhy are you saying all that like youâre resenting me?â Andrew asked, and Sam shook her head.
âI donât resent you, of course! It was your choice.â
âYou do sound like it thoughâŠâ
âIâm just pointing out that youâre not the kind of guy who compromises much.â
He raised an unimpressed eyebrow and huffed again.
âYouâre one to talkâŠâ he mumbled.
Andrew spent his time compromising. Had he not compromised when he wanted to take a job in London and had settled for Dublin instead because she didnât want to move there? When she refused to move in with him and asked for more time to find herself? When she chose most of their topics of conversations? When he barely talked about his work?
He let out a long exhale, took a bite of the overpriced fish he had ordered. He didnât even like the foodâŠ
Sam spoke again, about some stupid tv reality she had been watching with Frank, and you listened even though you hadnât seen it. Meanwhile, Andrew wanted to talk about music with you again. He wanted to ask you about Duke Ellington, he wanted to ask you what songs you liked, he wanted to listen to you ramble about how music made you feel. Your thoughts were always interesting, he could have talked with you for hours⊠and sometimes he did.
But he shook himself. He wanted Sam. He wanted to have Sam back, and nobody was perfect. There were some things in Sam that annoyed him or disappointed him or that he didnât understand but at the end of the day she was Sam, and that was enough for him.
He was quieter throughout the rest of the evening, trying to do some damage control over the couple of tensed moments that had occurred during the night.
But then the conversation settled on the wedding itself, and things turned ill all over againâŠ
âAnd we need to settle on a cake too! Christ, everything is complicated when youâre planning a wedding!â Sam laughed, while Andrew was tightly closing his fists under the table, until his nails drew crescent marks into his palms, while you looked away in a hurry.
âYou know⊠I thought we could choose a strawberry cake,â Frank said. âItâs a classic, most people like thoseâŠâ
âSam is allergic to strawberries,â Andrew answered without thinking.
An uncomfortable silence settled across the table.
âOh⊠you didnât tell me that, babe,â Frank told Sam, who frowned.
Clearly, she had told him before, but she said nothing.
âWell, weâll choose something else!â Frank shrugged.
âWhat about your career, then?â you asked your ex, staring intensely at him.
âMy career?â
âYou⊠you used to say that you wanted to wait to get married because you needed to focus on your career.â
Slowly, Frank nodded.
âYeah⊠thatâs true. I used to want that. But⊠itâs different with Sam.â
Andrew saw the pain that shot across your features. There was so much anger that ran through his veins thenâŠ
âRight,â you nodded.
âLike⊠my work seemed the most important, but now⊠not anymore. Or⊠not in the same way. So, why wait?â
âWhy wait, indeedâŠâ you slowly nodded while Frank and Sam exchanged a tender gaze, one that made Andrew nauseous.
He looked down at the piece of cheesecake he had barely touched, decided not to eat it. He couldnât get anything more downâŠ
The meal ended in a quiet mood, with conversations spent mostly between Sam and Frank, but the couple seemed satisfied with this situation. When they disappeared in a cab together, Andrew felt emptier than ever. A shell without a pulse or any other semblance of lifeâŠ
âAndy?â
He turned around to look at you standing behind him in the street, right before the restaurant. Your frame was illuminated by both the white light coming from the restaurantâs sign and the orange hues of the streetlights.
He caught himself thinking that you were beautiful, had to push the thought away. But you were. You had dressed up tonight, undoubtedly to impress Frank, just like Andrew had tried to impress Sam with his careful choice of outfit. And Andrew was impressed, at any rate. You were gorgeousâŠ
You offered him a humourless smile.
âTonight was⊠a lot, right?â
He nodded, letting out a long exhale through his nose.
âYou can say thatâŠâ
âI canât say that it went⊠incredibly well.â
âNo⊠it was⊠strange.â
âLetâs put it that way, yeah.â
âIâm not sure it helped us make any progress.â
âIâm not so sure either. On the contrary. But we tried, at least.â
Andrew nodded, looked at you as you heaved a sigh.
âYou know what I want right now?â
He shook his head, tilting his head to the side as he waited for you to speak again, his hands now buried in his pockets.
âI really⊠really⊠want to get drunk. Like⊠hammered. Properly destroyed.â
Andrew exploded with laughter.
âYou know what⊠sign me up! Getting very drunk sounds nice!â
âLetâs go to my place. I donât want to be surrounded by people anymore,â you offered, and Andrew easily accepted.
As he followed you throughout the street, he reckoned that at least one thing in this evening could be pleasant, after all.

Oxford, England, sometime in the 1700s
Rio has always loved the chaos of brittian. For such a small island, it was strangely violent. It seemed that there was not one portion of its history that wasnât soaked in blood and betrayal. There was always some sort of horror: the fire of london, the black death, the reformation, not to mention the islands unruly habit of invading and âcolonizingâ every piece of land it could get its chubby fingers on.
Oh, how Rio loved it. The chaos. The betrayal and the small villages in the middle of nowhere that begged to be wandered and explored. Maybe Death was not as villainous as she is thought to be because by god did she love the things mortals could make when they werenât busy dying and killing.
Maybe that was a side effect of her green witch abilities. She was connected to the earth through roots and mud and rot of graves, but more and more she was finding that she was connected through the flowers, the streams, the laughter, and the souls. Maybe that is why she found herself in Oxford, a center for education, advancement, and good pubs, gazing up at the sandstone buildings in wonder instead of reaping the souls of the innocent.
No. There was another reason she was here on this day. Perhaps a more romantic reason if one could think of Death as a romantic. She could sense her. She could feel the tingle of her magic before she had even stepped onto the main street. Rio was old, older perhaps than the earth itself, and yet no magic she had encountered felt quite the same as Agatha Harknessâ. It was a cold sensation, like saline injected under the skin, it rushed and eddied and pooled at her fingers before surging to her chest and encircling her black heart. Perhaps it was Agathaâs magic itself that had alerted Rio to the presence of her heart; the lump that sat stagnant in her chest seemed alert, almost beating as Agathaâs magic charged the air of the quaint university town.
The high street broke off into cramped alleyways decorated with gas lamps and cobbled walkways. Rio's many skirts, petticoats, and frills (an unfortunate aspect of this era's fashion) swirled around her feet as she strode forward, scraping the cobbles with the whispering sound of fabrics.
It was inevitable to find Agatha in a library, hunched over a book or setting up some elaborate spell to turn that library into a death trap. Either way, Agatha had always longed for knowledge, she longed to be stronger, more powerful, better guarded against the wrath of her kin, and better prepared for killing. Oh, it was enough to make Rio swoon.
Agathaâs library of choice today was a large domed building, a few stories high and completely sandstone. A monument to education, placed in the middle of a lovely green park. A monolith to mankind.
Agatha's magic pooled around the building, oozing out the cracks in the window in purple puddles of smoke that only Death could see. Rio smiled at the sight, at the power of her lover.
Lover? Rio caught herself as the thought crossed her mind. She supposed that must be what they were, what they had been for a while now, though who knew that Death could have such a thing. A heart and now a lover... Well, she wasn't exactly complaining. There are far more horrible ways to spend eternity than to spend it in love. Agatha was ever present, all-consuming, a mortal witch who just refused to die after centuries of amassing power, fear, and reputation. And there was Rio, Death personified, walking terror, Breathing inevitability. When an immovable object meets an unstoppable force, Rio supposes it is only fate that they fall in love.
Rio's smile grew as she entered the building, the magic almost suffocating with its intensity, its richness. Whether by coincidence or design, the library was empty at this hour. The students, perhaps dissuaded from studying by the rich presence of power, had long left their posts at the sturdy high-backed chairs that decorated the interior leaving books and quills strewn on every surface. Even the librarians who usually patrolled the isles, ever keen to protect the leather-bound treasures that lined the shelves had mysteriously disappeared. Absently, Rio wondered if Agatha would be giving her a gift tonight, perhaps a body or two to mark the occasion.
It was then that Rio spotted her, tucked away at a desk, face partially illuminated by a dripping candle whose flame was sinking lower and lower towards the wooden desk. Her thick dark hair, streaked with a few stray grey hairs, was piled in an unruly bun atop her head, and her hands, scratching away at a piece of parchment, were black from the ink of her quill.
"I knew I would find you here, Amor." Rio purred, her trademark smirk flickering across her face as she watched Agatha's shoulders tense and relax at the sound of her voice.
"Rio." Agatha sighed, dropping her quill and facing Death who was now leaning against a nearby bookcase; "You came"
"You're hard to ignore, sweetheart," Rio smiled, holding out a hand to Agatha. They both watched as a small carnation bloomed in her palm, its petals fully opening before Rio leaned forward, carefully tucking it behind Agatha's ear. Her lover smiled softly.
"I don't remember killing anyone... recently" She responded cheekily, the candlelight doing nothing to hide the warmth of her cheeks. Rio shrugged, pulling out her dagger which had been hidden under her layers of skirts.
"You didn't have to. Sometimes, I just know these things." She carelessly twirled the knife between her fingers, her eyes never leaving Agathas. It had been so long since they had last seen each other though probably not as long as it felt. But hell, was it a crime for a woman to miss her wife?
Agatha feigned annoyance, hanging her head with a roll of her keen eyes. "I'm busy, you know? I don't need any distractions right now," she motioned to the pile of papers before her, covered in runes, symbols, and snippets of spells Rio could only just make out.
"Oh, I can see. What are we planning today My lady? Manipulation of world leaders? Another gunpowder plot perhaps? Oh! Please tell me it's another plague, you know how I love a good plague." She leaned over Agatha's desk, getting closer to the other woman with a keen expression. "I love it when they go all green and spotty"
Agatha smiled fighting the urge to tuck Rio's hair behind her ear as she leaned forward.
"No dear I'm sorry. But I think you might like this surprise much better than a plague"
Rio snorted and shook her head, "Oh well it must be good then. You haven't gotten me a gift in so long sweetheart"
This was true. Agatha seemed to have begun leaning away from her usual hobbies of murder and destruction, at least to some degree, instead preferring to learn, to watch covens rise and fall. This didn't affect Rio much however as they still saw each other more than enough. Over the past decade or so it seems as though they saw each other at least a few times a week, if not more. Often their meetings went for hours, sometimes days if Rio could spare the time. They walked, they talked, they hiked across ley lines, and spent nights sleeping in castle ruins or huts (they spent nights doing much more than just sleeping).
Agatha didn't fight it this time, pulling her ink-stained hands away from the desk and placing them gently on Rio's cheeks, using her thumb to stroke the side of her lover's face and her long fingers to tuck her hair gently back into place.
"You'll love this gift" She sighed, heart racing so loudly she feared Rio might feel it through her hands. "It's... Well, It's not ready yet but..." She bit her lip, eyes flickering between Rios before sighing and pulling away. She stood from her chair, rounding the desk to where Death still stood, watching her with a small smile.
"you know I don't like surprises" Rio teased, placing a hand firmly on Agatha's waist, once again damning the many layers of skirts they both had to wear, which separated her from her lover's skin.
"Well, that bullshit and you know it" Agatha laughed, leaning into Rio's touch. "I can think of a few instances where you have rather enjoyed surprises"
Rio smirked, catching Agatha's cheeky innuendos with a deep blush. "well you always seem to have the best surprises for me" She jabbed back with the same smirk, tongue pressed into her cheek and eyebrows raised.
"If only they knew huh?" The soul witch laughed, glancing briefly out the small window that oversaw the bright twinkling lights of the pubs and shops down the road. "We'd be burned at the stake at once. Again"
"Oh, Amor you always looked so ravishing when getting burned by an angry mob" Rio quipped, remembering fondly to their days in Salem, after the death of Agatha's coven, after they first met. They had both been younger then, violent in their passions, and just as in love as they were today.
"And you've never looked as good as you do when you clean up my mess once I've finished with them" Agatha laughed, returning a hand to Rio's face. "Blood is one of my favorite looks on you." she winked.
"One of? tell me, Amor, what if my best look?"
Agatha smirked, Lowering her hand slightly so it cupped Rio's neck, her black nails scratching softly at the baby hairs on her neck eliciting a small hum of contentment from her lover. "I could think of a few" She smiled suggestively, eyes never leaving Rios as she leaned forward slowly Her other hand snaking behind Rio's back, holding her closer.
Their lips met for the first time that night, locking together in a well-practiced rhythm that comes only from a century of tender kisses. Rio couldn't help but smile into Agatha's lips, feeling their magic melt together in a strange hypnotic dance. For the second time that night, Rio felt Agatha's magic pool in her chest, licking her insides with pure energy. This must be what mortals call butterflies, Rio mused.
The kiss lasted a long time, They were in no rush after all. By the time they pulled away, as breathless as an immortal and a witch can be, the candle had almost completely melted, its wax pooling at the base of its holder threatening to spill onto Agatha's neat parchment.
They both fell silent, gazes dancing over each other's features quietly. Where once their relationship had been patchy, on and off, both victims of each other's passions and pains, it was now steady, solidified by years of companionship and alliance. Rages and arguments had been replaced by easy silences, domestic moments in stolen cottages and tender embraces. Rio often wondered how many creatures spent their entire immortal lives without finding a love like the one she had found in Agatha. Sure they fought still, and sure, sometimes they drew blood but come on! Everyone has their kinks.
Agatha broke the silence with a soft sigh, moving to hold Rio's hand in hers. They both watched as she intertwined their fingers, pads ghosting over Rio's knuckles like a worshipper with a rosary. Neither of them had been much good at religion, but Rio understood devotion. God, did she feel devotion.
"Aggie?" rio called softly, holding Agatha's hands steady. Her eyes were full of a strange emotion Rio had never seen in her before: Determination, desire, and passion, mixed with warmth, pride, and something else.
"We're married right," Agatha says. More of a statement than a question. Rio raised her eyebrow with a smirk.
"Well I hope so" She laughs, "otherwise we've been going steady for over 100 years". They weren't legally married, not documented by any government at least. But they knew. They had talked about it. They had stood and said vows, and each wore a simple ring to commemorate the union.
Agatha rolled her eyes despite herself. "I know that! I mean I've just been thinking..." She stopped herself again and Rio couldn't help but butt in.
"Please tell me you aren't going to ask for a divorce. I mean I know I can rub you the wrong way sometimes but-" Agatha stopped her with a finger to her lips and a harsh expression.
"Would you shut up for one second and let me finish you freak!" Rio smirked despite the hand over her mouth, moving her eyebrows as if to say well go on then.
Agatha pulled away for a moment, turning back to the desk which was strewn with paper, books, and broken quills. She riffled through a few pages, humming to herself as she organized what she needed before swinging back around with alarming enthusiasm.
"I know I'm crazy." She started, her hair even more of a mess than it was before. Rio couldn't help but laugh but remained silent and let the other witch talk. "Rio..." She paused and glanced down at the papers again, eyes so determined that Rio couldn't help but find it a bit sexy.
"I want to have a baby with you," She said finally, in one breath. The words fell out of her mouth and jumbled into the air between them, waiting for a response. Rio's eyes shot wide open, eyebrows almost lost behind her hair. Before she could respond, Agatha continued, voice low and fast as if scared she was going to be cut off.
"I know it's crazy ok! But I've been thinking about it for a while now and I can't stop thinking about it. I want a baby, and more than that, I want one with you. I love you, Rio, I don't care what you are or who I am ok? I just need-" Perhaps she would have kept going if Rio hadn't chosen that exact moment to lean forward and stop her with an urgent kiss which shocked them both.
Rio pulled back with a grin, gently prying the papers from Agatha's hands and scanning them. Pages and pages of incantations, recipes for potions, guides for ceremonies, safety runes and protection spells all of which worked towards one goal: A child. Death felt a swell of love for the witch before her who, despite her questionable hobbies, had dedicated such passion and time into the creation of their child. She felt her eyes prickle with soft tears. God did she love this woman.
"It is crazy" Rio admitted slowly, cheeks aching from her smile, "but... We've definitely done worse" She shrugged, placing the papers back on the desk with one hand, cupping agathas cheek with the other. Agatha sighed, relieved, allowing her eyes to fall shut as she leaned against Rio's warm palm.
"Is that a-"
"Yes. Let's have a baby, Amor"
Agatha grinned, Opening her eyes once more. "I was hoping you'd say that"
"You'll be an amazing mother" Rio whispered, gently stroking the lines of Agatha's face which had formed over the years they had known each other.
"So will you."
She said it so surely, without question or hesitation, that Rio forgot for a moment who she was. In that moment, she was not Lady Death, nor was she The Green Witch. She was simply Rio. A wife. A soon-to-be mother. A woman in love.
They weren't quite sure who leaned in for the kiss first, but they seemed to meet all at once. Both soft and firm, entangled in each other in the silent library. They made quite the team, A serial Killer and Lady Death. They made a team as partners, they made a team as villains, and now, soon, they would make a perfect team as parents.
"Have you thought of a name?" Rio mumbled against Agatha's lips after a moment. She hummed in response, moving her hands into Rio's hair again, toying softly at the roots.
"I was thinking... Nicholas."

relationship hcs ; jax
requested by ; anonymous (26/10/23) & anonymous (27/10/23)
fandom(s) ; the amazing digital circus
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; jax
outline ; âi'm so excited you're doing requests for TADC!!!!! do you have any general dating hcs for jax?â
&
âI saw that you now do The Amazing Digital Circus requests!
Soooo how about Jax relationship headcanons?â
note ; characterisation may be shaky as we only have the pilot episode out so far
warning(s) ; canon typical asshole behaviour from jax, mostly fluff!
first and foremost, jax is an asshole and that will not change when the two of you start flirting or when you become an âofficialâ couple â heâs not outright malicious towards you anymore, sure, but heâll keep on teasing and messing with you at every opportunity (heâs also very unlikely to apologise unless he feels like youâre genuinely upset with him and he canât sweet talk his way out of it)
pranks and teasing are a big part of your relationship, especially if youâre able to match his mischievousness â whether thatâs him leaving things in your room for you to find later that he knows will startle you, using nicknames for you that are more amusing than intimate (e.g. something poking fun at your avatarâs height, an inside joke, or just generally teasing you for something youâve done in front of him that he refuses to let you live down)
heâs a massive flirt and always finds a way to work around caineâs rules and regulations â he leaves just enough unsaid to get the real message across and absolutely loves watching you process what heâs said and then get flustered or frustrated once you realise what he really means (even if you playfully smack him on the chest or arm because itâs more than worth it for him)
physical affection with jax only really occurs on his terms with very few exceptions â such as when he wraps an arm around your shoulders and pulls you against his side, or (if your avatar has hair) when he messes up your hair right after youâve finished the introduction song â the main exception to the rule is if youâre really not doing too well and need to be grounded or comforted because of it (i.e. youâre experiencing a mental break due to your circumstances or are starting to get close to the point of abstraction for whatever reason â he might be an ass, but he cares and he doesnât want to lose you)
during caineâs missions he generally prefers to hang out with you if possible, whether that means going off and doing your own thing, watching the inevitable chaos unfold from a safe distance, or actually participating (usually because youâre bored and he just wants to see funny things happen to people) â but that doesnât mean youâre safe if he decides heâs bored, and he has on several occasions pushed you straight into the âline of fireâ of whatever youâre meant to be fighting just to see what youâll do
(he wouldnât do it if you could actually get hurt, mind you, but as youâre all physically safe no matter what youâre facing heâs willing to take the risk and the time in the âdog rabbit houseâ for a laugh)
youâre just about the only person heâll listen to if ever you tell him to âtone it downâ⊠but only for a short while â yeah he can stop teasing pomni for ten minutes to let the poor jester get her bearings, and sure heâll lay off the bugs in ragathaâs room for a week, but things always return to normal after that because heâs remarkably stubborn, a bit of an ass, and endlessly amused by the âsufferingâ of others in the circus
if a new character or npc tries to flirt with you then heâs going to go from sassy and sarcastic to outright malicious â more openly so if itâs an npc (at least until caine gets the hint and decommissions them) but if itâs a new character trying to intrude on your relationship then heâs going to make it explicitly clear that (a) youâre taken, (b) youâre exclusive with him, and (c) he will make their time in the circus even more unpleasant if they continue down that path (especially if itâs actively making you uncomfortable in addition to just being disrespectful)
(he might not be able to cause them any harm, but he has keys to everyoneâs room and little regard for the safety of others during âmissionsâ so heâs more than able to make them regret flirting with you if he wants)

So thereâs this manhwa called Match Made in Bed (no happy ending for the main couple Iâm afraid but the premise is very dreamling-coded) where basically this woman is recently dumped because of how stiff she is during sex so her friends decide to hire some hosts to cheer her up. Among the hosts is this one guy whoâs actually a swim instructor doing a favor for his friend but heâs actually really reserved and haughty (sound familiar?) and kind of looks down on the whole practice of escorting. Eventually the woman gets hammered and he ends up taking her to a hotel room where she entices him into sleeping with her to prove she can be a good lay and surprise surprise, their sexual compatibility is off the charts and they have sex nine times. But afterwards they donât know how to move forward because she canât imagine dating a host (even tho heâs not) and he canât stand rich women who go around flaunting their money and hiring escorts (she was lying about her job as a stewardess too). But at the same time, they canât keep their hands off each other. And so, shenanigans and misunderstandings ensue. I can totally imagine Hob and Dream in this scenario where they keep saying tonight will be the last night but then in a turn of events they keep running into each other like itâs fate, like Hob unknowingly signing up for Dreamâs swim class, and who can resist a good fuck? Hob has literally never met someone who can make him cum so many times before and Dream has never had so many wet dreams. And itâs good for both of them. Theyâre both getting better sleep and relieving so much stress. I imagine eventually one of them will get their act together and come clean about their true job so they can finally be happy and fuck without anything holding them back.
I am now extremely obsessed with the concept of host!Dream. Or how about, Desire is actually the host, but for some reason they've persuaded Dream to fill in for them! Probably so they can have a vacation, lol. Anyway: host!Dream.
Hob is super intimidated by the gorgeous hosts that Jo organised for him, and he ends up drinking waaayy too much. He's pretty sure that the gorgeous guy with the blue eyes is actually disgusted by him (Dream is just struggling to keep smiling for hours and hours đ) and it makes Hob feel so discouraged. When the pretty guy escorts him to the hotel room, Hob doesn't even mean to seduce him - he literally stumbled and fell into Dreamâs arms. The kiss that followed just felt natural. And after that... Well. Hob usually hates drunk sex but with Dream, he feels... incredible. He doesn't even feel intoxicated. He just feels like he's floating, encased in a shroud of total pleasure.
Dream doesn't even know why he slept with the sad drunk guy, but. Even he has to admit that it was amazing. Hob might be awkward and dumb, but his body is everything Dream has ever wanted. He can hardly believe that it wasn't all just an amazing fantasy, but sure enough he wakes up with Hob the next day. And Dream IMMEDIATELY leaves. He doesn't like rich finance guys (Hob lied about his job, he's actually a teacher) and it's not like this host gig is even HIS job.
Hob wakes up alone, feeling physically amazing but emotionally devastated. Even though he's probably too jealous to handle dating a host, he can't help wishing that Dream stayed. At least for a morning blow job...
Of course the universe brings them right back together. Hob promised that he would finally learn to swim this year; Dream turns out to be his instructor. They fuck down in the shallow end of the pool after Hob learns to float (who needs to swim when you can cling onto a sexy man while he fucks you?), Dream shows up to pick his nephew up from school and runs in to Hob as he comes out from teaching a class. They don't have time to do anything but make out messily in a supply cupboard, but it's still incredible...
They still refuse to talk about their obvious perfect physical compatability. Hob still believes that Dream isn't really into him. Dream still can't pluck up the courage to actually speak to him. Every other week they end up in some kind of compromising position - Dream has memorised all the little scars on Hobâs body, and he's kissed every single one of them. Hob can't get off by himself anymore, not without Dream inside him.
The only consolation: Desire is back from vacation, soon. If anyone can get the idiots together, they can. But Desire isn't always inclined to be helpful... and they might just make everything worse!

do you think you could ever see us as more than friends?
don't you get it? they're not you.
Sarah Cameron
don't you get it? they're not you.
do you think you could ever see us as more than friends?
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs
"Thanks again for tutoring Wheezie, (Y/N). Her grades have definitely improved."
"It's no problem, Mr. Cameron."
Truly, it wasn't. While the youngest Cameron could be stubborn and occasionally immature, Wheezie was probably one of the brightest kids you got to tutor. She simply refused to believe in herself and her abilities but with a little coaxing and praise, she'd proven to be pretty good at the harder subjects like math and science. You were sure she wouldn't need you anymore in a couple weeks.Â
"If only you rubbed off on Sarah," Ward sighed as he finished digging around in his wallet for some cash. You almost smiled despite the annoyance you'd grown to harbor for the blonde over the last few days. If only Sarah took your warnings and advice to heart instead of running off with the posse from the Cut. She'd ghosted Denny, a good friend of yours, just to hang out with them doing God knows what. The Pogues were sweet people, especially Pope Heyward, but their track record was piss poor and would only damage Sarah in the long run. "She could use some help in English. I got a phone call from her teacher the other day about it."Â
"I'll talk to her, Mr. Cameron." You assured, taking the wad of cash from the man and smiling. "I'm sure it's nothing."Â
With a thankful nod, Ward bid you goodbye and headed inside the mansion. You sighed softly and stuffed the cash into your wallet before slipping it into your back pocket and heading down the driveway. The walk home would be a short one given how close you lived to the Camerons, one of the main reasons you'd been able to stick beside Sarah and not get dumped aside like trash. It was infuriating how she tossed aside people so easily and yet decided to extend her loyalty to people acquainted with the Kildare County jail cells.Â
The familiar rumble of an engine caught your attention and you stopped right at the edge of the driveway to watch the familiar minivan head down the road. It came to a screeching halt right before you and Kiara stuck her head out with a wide smile. Great. Just the people you wanted to see. The side door rolled open and Sarah hopped out with a giddy laugh, sliding the door closed again and bidding her newfound friends a cheerful goodbye before she spun around and sprang into your arms. The van made a U-turn at the end of the road and sped off down the street.
"Hey!" Sarah giggled, arms still wrapped around your shoulders. "I didn't know you were coming over!"
"I tutor Wheezie every Friday, Sarah. You'd know that if you paid more attention." You muttered and pushed your hand against her abdomen, forcing the girl to take a step back. Sarah's brows furrowed and her arms slumped to her side, her dark brown eyes flickering all over your face. Any other day, any other month, you might've felt bad for getting snappy with the blonde. But your patience had begun to wear thin with her after her constant ghosting and ditching.
"What's wrong? Why are you mad?"
"I'm not-" You inhaled deeply and rubbed the area between your eyebrows. "You said you were going to give Denny a chance 'cause you were tired of being single. He showed up to the date, but you didn't. If you don't want something serious then tell me that before I set you up with someone. You've done this four times already, Sarah. I'm the one who has to pick up after you while you run around with your street friends. If you don't like my friends, say that. I've wasted enough of their time."
Sarah frowned and looked away like a child being scolded by their parent. She twisted her lips and spoke quietly, "Don't you get it? They're not you. I don't want to date them. I.."
You felt your heart drop at her words. Sarah Cameron, known to all as a heartbreaker who had no issue cheating on her boyfriends, liked you? You stared at her silently, trying to process her words and think of something, anything, to say in response but your mind went blank. You'd known her since you wore diapers! You'd been raised alongside her like siblings and even wore matching clothes during the holidays as kids. The only word you could truly muster up and say was, "Oh."
"Do you think you could ever see us as more than friends?" Sarah asked softly and lifted her head to gaze at your face. You tried not to wince. You loved her, truly you did, but not in the way she wanted. A long time ago, back in middle school, you might've leaped at the chance. But that'd been before you really took note of her more selfish side. Sarah was loyal but not when it came to romance and she never had the guts to admit it.
"No, Sarah, I don't. You... You're my friend. I stopped looking at you like that when I saw how you treated your past boyfriends. You're great and I'll always love you but you're just not the kind of girl I'd want to be with. I'm sorry."

Pairing: Katsuki Bakugo x GN!Reader
Summary: Bakugo as your boyfriend

Headcanons start below cut
MHA Maserlist
Main Masterlist
A relationship with Bakugo is based in mutual respect
In order to catch Bakugo's attention, you're most likely in the hero course, specifically class 1-A
He would first notice you during the sports festival during your one on one fight
Even if you didn't win, he would be interested in your fighting style and the capabilities of your quirk
He would likely approach you after the festival to do extra training together
One on one training sessions allows him to get closer to you, while also being able to impress you with his quirk
After a few months of training together, the two of you start hanging out more outside of class and training
You often have study together in his dorm for upcoming exams, or work together on assignments
When you actually start dating, you spend a lot more time in each other's dorms
He's also a lot softer when you start going out compared to when you were just friends
He's also a much different person when the two of you are alone vs when you're around others
Even though he isn't the biggest fan of PDA, he does get jealous pretty easily, so he often has his arm around your waist or over your shoulder if he feels that someone is getting too friendly with you
Even though he tends to keep public affection to a minimum, he's all over you in private
When the two of you are alone, he's very clingy, and will lay on top of you for hours while you play with his hair
If you ever try to get up for any reason, he'll pin you down to the bed and refuses to let you leave
Speaking of cuddling, surprisingly, her prefers to be the little spoon, especially when he's had a rough day
Although he acts overly arrogant, Bakugo can sometimes be really insecure, and requires lots of comfort a reassurance
Cuddle sessions as an opportunity are the time where Bakugo is finally able to relax, and show you his vulnerable side
In terms of affection, he loves touching you hair, and equally love when you run your hands through his
In private, he is very physically affectionate and is always touching you in some way
Doing homework? His hand is resting on you back as he explains to you what you did wrong
Watching a movie? His arm is wrapped around your waist as you share a blanket
Training? He'll take any opportunity to pin you beneath him so he can hover over top of you
He also really enjoys hugging you and burying his face in your hair (he finds the smell of your shampoo very calming)
Overall, Bakugo is a very attentive and loving boyfriend (most ly in private though lol)

my main issue with Harlivy not being monogamous is that the idea exists solely because DC is homophobic. I think, in some worlds, they could have a healthy poly relationship, obviously I love harliva (Gotham City Sirens), I stand by that this would be a wonderful dynamic if ya know written by competent and skilled writers who actually understand all their characters.
And frankly I dont feel like Harley is one who typically would be okay with sharing the person she's in love with. she's just not. maybe in a case where she and the person she's in love with / dating are both also in love with another, who's equally into the both of them.
But
That's not what's happening in Harley & Ivy's comics right now. That's not what's ever happened with this "open relationship".
I think Mason was healthy and sweet for Harley, from what I remember, but Ivy didn't love him and he didn't love Ivy. It's understandable to a degree, Ivy's reasonings and such, and in a different world with better writers I think that aspect could have been explored and developed.
Because Ivy does, truly, deeply, love Harley, and the idea she would be okay with Harley having hookups, etc, could be explained in a way that would make sense. Particularly during the part of Harley's arc that the 2014/2016 comics were, well, were supposed to be, dealing with.
She's freshly broken up with Joker, not really fully into a healing phase either, and isn't in the right mindset to be like settling down and thinking of Forever again. Harlivy's relationship is strong and built on friendship, so even in the beginning there while their relationship isn't Platonic, it's not "Officially Dating", Ivy knows how deeply Harley also cares about her. She also knows Harley isn't in a good place, and neither was she.
So her being okay, or outright happy for Harley, being loved by other people would make some sense because all Ivy's tried to do their whole friendship is prove that she deserved better, that she deserved to be loved and cherished. And as long as whoever is the pick of the month for Harley is someone who makes her feel happy and loved, then Ivy wouldn't feel jealous over it because damn, good for her being so happy messing around with someone who isn't as nasty and cruel as Joker. And it wouldn't take away from the real underlying feelings the two women have for one another.
But, again, that's not what this is. And it is now a "dynamic" that's bled into both Poison Ivy (2022) and Harley Quinn (2021), and has ultimately (due to the sheer lack of shown conversations or anything) devolved to borderline cheating.
In all honestly, this isn't a thing that'd exist if she was still with Joker and him alone. 1000%.
She would be with him and him only and would be depressed, insecure and jealous if he had a "friend" like Janet who he'd fucked before and continued to keep around.
This concept was only introduced because DC wouldn't allow for Harlivy to be openly in a monogamous relationship in 2014/2016. This is the company that in 2013 lost both the artist and writer for the Batwoman comic (artist: JH Williams III and writer: W. Haden Blackman) due to the company refusing to allow them to show Kate get married. It's not ooc for them to have refused to let them be monogamous, especially since Harlivy wasn't even allowed to be shown kissing on the lips at the time.
cause forbid sapphic women are allowed to be shown being outright loving and romantic with each other and doing something as ridiculously simple and mundane as a lip kiss, but having Ivy grab her ass in front of two dudes is totally okay cause it's hot.
it's so hot in fact that they needed to add in Tool dude, a fucking loser ass creep, saying "homina" in response to getting to see these two hot ladies like this. It seems like this is supposed to be a version of "Hummina"
Wiktionary: used to express that one has a strong reaction that cannot be expressed in words, especially when expressing embarrassment or sexual attraction.
Urban Dictionary: gibberish used to convey excitement or immediate sexual attraction to someone that takes your breath away.
Or the definitions for "Homina" itself
Urban Dictionary: A word, normally repeated three times, to express shock, befuddlement, or general speechlessness. Often when looking at a particularly attractive member of the speaker's favored sex
-
A sound you make when you see someone very attractive and beautiful. Similar to "hubba-hubba" or "a-woo-gah a-woo-gah" or "rwaaaarrr!"
[AND! I think the dynamics with her relationships with Joker and Ivy during the Mad Love arc is ridiculously complex and cannot be boiled down to "she cheats on him with Ivy so its in character for them to not be monogamous" because it takes away all context of both relationships and the mental state she'd have been in during that arc that was directly caused by him.
Her hooking up with Ivy while still being on / off again with Joker, a man who had broken her mind, her bones and her self esteem, is not at all similar or equatable to the pointless, ooc strange plot threads that've been published recently that frankly are just starting to feel like it's playing into biphobic stereotypes]
anyyyhoo, those are my thoughts<3 I have to finish cleaning my room now I sporadically wrote this on a short break SKDJSJKSKSKS

Welcome to another round of W2 Tells You What You Should See, where W2 (me) tries to sell you (you) on something you should be watching. Today's choice: ćœ©éŠăĄăăăŻćŒćć
茩ă«æăăŠă / Ayaka-chan wa Hiroko-senpai ni Koishiteru / Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko!
Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko! is a 2024 eight-episode Japanese comedy of errors about what happens when two adorable lesbians continually get in the way of their own relationship.
I think the poster gives a somewhat wrong impression: Hiroko (in black) is not a straight girl horrified that she is being hugged by a lesbian; she is a lesbian horrified that she is being hugged by her crush, whom she perceives to be an oblivious straight girl. But as the title of the show would suggest, Ayaka (in pink) is very much not a straight girl, and is instead a determined young woman with sapphic designs on the hot older woman at her job.
And they are both so, so stupid about it.
The whole wacky, wonderful series will take up a mere three hours and twelve minutes of your life, so here, as was the case with Otoko Meshi, is a correspondingly quick list of five reasons to watch it.
1. Clueless Lesbian 4 Clueless Lesbian
Have you ever seen someone have a crush and proceed to be normal about it? Well, you won't find that here. Ayaka is going to con this beautiful, competent woman into topping her if she has to kill everyone in this office to do it.
Hiroko refuses to believe that Ayaka might actually mean what she's saying, choosing instead to believe that Ayaka's actions are pure platonic displays of admiration, even when Ayaka outright says what she's after. Meanwhile, Ayaka simply cannot imagine why her very targeted overtures are always being rebuffed, interpreting Hiroko's continued resistance as a sign that Ayaka is simply not doing a good enough job of seducing her. She's got to up her game, dammit!
If you like the type of business where it takes multiple dates for two women to figure out they are in fact girlfriends, this is for you. Every oblivious lesbian trope in the book is on display here. It's a war of attrition between a woman who feels obligated to say no because she doesn't believe the person asking understands what she's asking for, and a woman who won't take "no" for an answer because she's certain that as soon as she figures out how to ask the question correctly, the answer will be "yes."
And will it be? Well, of course it will, because you know how this genre works. But not before some adorable wlw wackiness ensues!
2. Harold, they're (actually) lesbians
Often in both BL and GL properties, characters are presented as mostly straight with only plot-related same-sex leanings, usually having moments of going, I can't believe I'm falling for a wo|man!
The main lady-loving characters in this show have no trouble believing they're falling for women, because one's been out to herself as a lesbian since she was in middle school, one's just coming to terms with her desire for women but has acknowledged that it probably indicates she's a lesbian, and one honestly just never stopped to consider that being a woman desperately in love with another woman is pretty gosh darn lesbian behavior.
And I like that, you know? As much as I love a good Gay For You plot, I appreciate one that acknowledges that there's a whole very real community out there of people who feel the same way! You are not the only girl in the world who wants to kiss other girls! Lesbians have their own networks, hangouts, stereotypes, relationships, and even aesthetics that are distinctly lesbian. You can find them in real life, and I like it when you can find them in fiction too.
These aren't just straight relationships with incidentally matching genitals. There aren't even any strict butch/femme dynamics or demands that lesbianism equal gender-nonconformity. Sure, Hiroko is slightly more toward the masculine side of the gender slider than most of the other women in the show, but she's definitely not outright masc. While she's real into Ayaka's girly looks, as we see from flashbacks, Hiroko's not what you'd call picky about the gender presentation of her female partners.
They even go to a lesbian bar! The world's tiniest, most brightly lit lesbian bar! A magical place where you can always meet a beautiful red-clad femme, a cute little tomboy, and...
3. That hot bartender
It's like a good fairy granted a lion one wish, and the lion said it wanted to be turned into a beautiful Japanese lesbian, and the good fairy was like, wow, that's such a good wish, I'm going to make sure it turns out really great for you.
We are all the big-titty lesbian in red here.
4. Ayaka's outfits!
A major conceit of the show is that Ayaka, in response to her crush on Hiroko, has given herself a complete makeover, choosing outfits and hairstyles that (accurately) reflect Hiroko's tastes.
Even if you don't like her outfits -- and let's be real, some of them are a bit much for me -- they're still very cute and a lot of fun to see worn.
I do want to note that this isn't just a story about Girl Changes Entire Personality For Boy Girl She Likes. Ayaka's pre-transformation self is severe and almost robotic, and ... well, it doesn't seem to make her particularly happy to be like that. It seems less like her older persona is her "real" personality, and more like it's one that she'd just settled on because she'd been told it's what being an adult means.
There, that's what she used to dress like.
When she decides to change her style, she initially steers way too hard in the other direction, to the point where it feels like she went home and binge-watched fifty romcoms to learn how to be a person. (I'm just saying, if you wanted, you could choose to read Ayaka as an interesting flavor of autistic.) Over the course of the show, though, she gently settles into her new mode, which winds up suiting her so much better! So it's less about the nerdy girl having to leave her nerdy self behind to earn the attention of her crush, and more about how having a crush gives a girl the incentive to stop dressing the same way her parents dressed her in the second grade.
Also very cute: Some elements of her wardrobe get reused! She doesn't just magically wear several whole new things every episode! We see her apartment, and it's not large. She doesn't have room for a million different complete outfits, so she has to mix and match.
So yeah, if you, like Hiroko, like to see a cute girl wearing cute things, this show has just what the lesbian doctor ordered. (It's me, I'm the lesbian doctor.) (No, seriously, I am.)
5. A weirdly thoughtful take on the complexities of queer workplace relationships!
The show knows it can't keep up the absolute lesbian obliviousness the whole time, so feelings start to become clear about halfway through -- at which point the conflict that fuels the drama stops being about mistakenly thinking people are straight, and becomes more about why a lesbian office romance might not be the smartest career move for either of them.
After all, by the time you're in your mid-thirties and you've been working in the same place for over a decade, you're pretty well-established in your position -- but not so much that your job is completely safe from gossip or disapproving looks from your higher-ups. Meanwhile, when you're in your early twenties and just getting started, it won't do you any good to have everyone suspecting any future success is just a result of your sleeping with the (girl)boss.
So the goofy lesbian misunderstandings are fun and funny, but their worries about how dating will affect their jobs are real.
You find out eventually why Hiroko is particularly touchy about workplace relationships, and it's a very good reason! But at the same time the show explains this very good reason, it also points out that Japanese culture is slowly becoming more accepting of out gay people. Ten years can make a pretty big difference! Older generations might still be regressive about open queerness, but there's growing support from the youth.
Like these supportive coworkers! Aren't they precious?
I will admit, I am not the biggest fan of boss/underling romance dynamics. However, that never bothered me in this series, because Hiroko never feels quite like Ayaka's boss. She's Ayaka's sempai, sure, but she feels more like a senior colleague than an actual supervisor -- and Ayaka is 100% the one pursuing her, not the other way around. Still, if the idea of any hierarchy-crossing workplace relationship is an absolute dealbreaker for you ... well, you probably stopped reading this rec several paragraphs ago, so I'm not going to worry about it!
Anyway, don't get me wrong and assume this is something deep and serious about how perceptions of queerness can hinder professional success, because it's not. It's a goofy little comedy with cute outfits and dumb lesbians. But it's also a goofy little comedy that also occasionally makes some smart observations, and I like that about it.
bonus: Of course there's an adorable manga!
And you can read it here! It's a bit wackier and it makes some choices that wouldn't have worked in a live-action drama, but they're quite entertaining on the page. Here's the MangaDex summary:
Soft and bubbly office lady Ayaka is madly in love with her senior at work, Hiroko! Two lovestruck coworkers who both think the other is straight totally crush on each other⊠popular Twitter artist Sal Jiangâs latest office rom-com!
If anything, it handles Ayaka's transformation better than the show does, because it makes clearer that even after the makeover, she's still as intense and tough to crack as she was before -- around everyone but Hiroko. It even says in so many words that sometimes Ayaka's smiling demeanor is just masking.
The manga also knows a lot better what their job actually is, while the drama is more along the lines of, we work in an office! we do events! we have meetings! we create things for clients! It's basically the same Generic Company, LLC that every character in a modern AU fanfic does endless paperwork at.
Beside that, the series is a pretty darn faithful adaptation of the manga! Three volumes and eight episodes seem to be enough to carry about the same amount of story.
Want to watch the cute lesbians?
Sure you do! And the most reliable place to get them appears to be GagaOOLala, though I've found the whole series uploaded by various people on Dailymotion (here's episode 1 from one account, though you can find others).
It's a laugh-out-loud romp smart enough to know to get in there, tell a cute little bite of a story, and get out before the joke gets old. If you believe in the truth and goodness of lesbian love, treat yourself with this cheerful little romance that's only a slight exaggeration of how oblivious real-life lesbians can be.
Attagirl.

EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN #3 FTA
After a pretty disappointing week of X-Men comics it's a delight to read and analyse Eve Ewing's Exceptional X-Men. The repeated issues I have with the other titles are just not present here and after three consistent bangers Ewing and co have my trust.
Emma is right
We pick up exactly where issue #2 left off, and this opening scene of all the main characters makes me realise how tightly the execution is. We know where each of them is at and (at least broadly what they want) - we're getting to know the kids organically. Where the other two books feel like action figures isolated from each other for no good reason, Kate Pryde's need to get away from the X-Men was established before the title even began. She just wants a normal life, to date girls and process her trauma. Emma Frost showing up to answer the call she refused throws her off immediately and they briefly scrap. The kids aren't just saying nothing because they didn't get a script today (hi Jubilee) - they're frozen by Emma. It's a small thing, but it's purposeful and flows elegantly.
Priti, Kate's housemate/friend from school, breaks up the fight for the most relatable reason - she doesn't want to lose the security deposit. Perhaps a sign that Kate doesn't fit into the 'norma'l world as much as she wants...or Emma just really knows how to push her buttons. I think Emma is hurting too, though she hides it under her usual scene-stealing exterior. I can't wait for more of their dynamic. Yeah, they'll almost certainly figure out a working relationship but their pain isn't being dismissed either. I feel like the pair are a successful version of what Gail Simone is doing with Rogue.
They stop fighting and have a little tea party, then Axo asks the question I'd been dreading the answer to - 'do you trust Emma or not?' Kate grew up being terrified of Emma with good reason and never let her forget why she did not trust her. Emma spent decades earning that trust and proving herself a hero, leader and teacher - but the First Krakoan Age had them grow closer than ever before. They worked well together and became friends, they were a force for good on Krakoa (mostly.) It's a shame that this is a metric, but two thumbs up for not rolling any of that back. These feel like the members of the resistance who were there for each other in Fall of X. Kate herself is regressing a little, but it's believable as a trauma response.
Kate doesn't want to train young mutants and Emma does. Prito even has a space they can use and the kids are keen! Everyone is happy then, right? Well, I think that's going to be the core tension for a while. Everyone except Kate wants this, but I think Kate needs this.
This 'getting to know you' circle does a lot of work in centering the young mutants, reminding us they're here to stay while showing us who they are and the beginning of their social dynamic. I haven't been a teen for a long time but their voices sound authentic, even to the point of highlighting that Bronze/Trista is a bit younger than the other two.
Agreed, do not read the comments.
They want to be doing this! One of the most challenging parts of being a teen is navigating peer groups. Solidarity in experiencing the same kind of otherness plus scary body changes is healthy, and it's lovely to chalk up a W despite the fact that 'people hate us.'
This issue also asks the question Rogue did in Uncanny #1, but as organic dialectic. It introduces the tension between self defense and being a superhero when you have powers - the difference between Emma and Kate externalised. Kate is excited despite herself until Emma shows up with costumes, and I think she's right to push back or at least be wary. But is this about her or the kids? It's not the most admirable contradiction but it's very human. They're both right that the old ways were flawed and they need to try something new.
Is she talking about Colossus? MF is not that gentle. Their costumes look amazing.
Unsurprisingly, Emma and Kate are a great team. There's tension underneath there, but they wouldn't be doing this if their friendship didn't run deep. New kids in relaunches past have often had their powers explained by Cerebro or a nosy telepath. Learning about it from their mouths as they're starting to use them in a controlled environment achieves the wiki entry, shows them learning to use them, and importantly gives us more of their personality.
Emma conjures up some Brood-like baddies and everyone freaks out but some growth is evident. It's Axo that figures out they're not real. Kate is not impressed. I doubt they'll throw down, but her sending the kids away feels like an extreme reaction. Good, she's got shit to say and hurts that need to be spoken. The kids don't leave, but we're left with all this tension in the air to be resolved next issue.
I LOVE that the three kids cuddle/huddle in the background.
Who better to break the ice (sorry) than Bobby Drake? Having him just fly in the window and cooling down the tension (sorry again) could feel random and silly but it works. These two have a lot of history and it makes sense that he'd seek her out. Kate has been turning her back on anyone X-related - will she freeze Bobby out too? The kids are awed by him and it's half the Marauders back together, so I don't think he'll get the cold shoulder.
I feel very confident in calling Exceptional X-Men the best X-Men book in From The Ashes. It's got an honesty and sincerity to it while remixing the hits of first arcs and adding plenty of new. The art style is colourful and emotive which adds so much to a book taking people's feelings seriously. If you pick up nothing else, this is the one.

Like he's on tour and he brings y/n and their first kid and then people are being mean to y/n so he addresses it and when they get home they have a fluffy moment and then y/n announces baby #2 - Sorry for a long story lol!
What about us?
MASTERLIST
Genre: Idol!AU, Dad!Han Jisung x Female Reader, fluff, angst.
Word Count: 4,308
Warnings: Swearing, toxic fans, cyberbullying, vomit. (not proofread yet!)
A/N: This, right there, is a cute ass request. I don't like children so this was extra hard for me to write, but I love it so much in the end.
"No." you immediately dismissed, earning a pout from your boyfriend.
"Jiwon is missed by all the members, and I bet she misses them too." Jisung pleaded, but you were not going to fall into his trap.
"Love, they saw her last week."
"Which is a very long time for a child."
"She's three, Ji. She doesn't grasp the concep of time yet."
"Exactly my point!"
You huffed before turning your body around on the bed so he would face your back. Sometimes, it felt like you had to raise two children. Well, that would be the case very much soon, but Jisung didn't know that yet.
"Baby." he cooed as he wrapped his arm around your waist in a loving way.
"I said no."
"Why?" he whined even louder, which made you sit up.
"Because." you started and then stared right into his eyes. "America is far from home and she is only three."
He shrugged, not seeing the problem. "She went to Incheon once."
You moved your head to the side, not understanding his thought process. "Incheon is like a thirty minute car ride from here."
"And she survived." he beamed at you.
You shook your head in disbelief and tugged yourself right back into your bed sheets. You turned the lights off while Jisung kept trying to convince you to bring you and your daughter on tour. You were not going to succumb your lover's pleas. Not this time.
There is only so much you can refuse from Jisung. Miraculously, he had convinced you to go on tour with him. The only thing that truly made you change your mind was that you would get to spend some family time on a trip, and that you'd get to be with your man. Ever since the beginning of the year, he hadn't stopped working for a single day. You grew concerned about his health, but he assured you he was okay.
"Hey, come back here!" Changbin yelled at the little girl after she stole his cap.
He ran after her and she was surprisingly very fast. You watched them bicker once Changbin had managed to catch her as she was laughing uncontrollably. You honestly adored seeing her interact with the boys.
"Are you okay, love?" Jisung asked as he came from behind, placing a peck on your cheek.
"I just love how they take care of her so well."
"I swear they spoil her too much." Jisung sighed. "Chan wanted to buy her some candies but she's got more energy than needed."
"Certainly not candies." you hummed. "Have you gotten our bags yet?"
He nodded. "Security did, don't bother with it."
Although you had been dating for years, you still couldn't get used to him being a famous idol, meaning almost being treated like royalty. Being the independent woman you were, you hated the idea of people doing everything for you, which was the main reason why you wouldn't get into Jisung's work life too much. Plus, you preferred much more the privacy you kept with him and Jiwon.
"Mom." your daughter called out as she ran to you, arms extended.
"What is it, love?" you said, picking her up in your arms.
"Uncle Changbin said you would buy me cookies if I stop stealing his things. Is it true?"
You noted mentally to curse Changbin for making false promises up. "Of course, which ones would you like better?"
"Chocolate!" she clapped her hands happily.
"And that's how you know she is definitely her dad's little girl." Jisung kissed the top of her head. "Can I get some chocolate cookies too?" he pleaded to you with his puppy eyes.
"You're a grown man, get them yourself." you faked a smile at him, and he scoffed.
"Alright, lovebirds." Chan clasped his hands together as he approached the three of you. "We're off to go to the hotel."
Jiwon absolutely adored getting to see her father perform. Although some of the performances were not very adequate for children, she was still too young to understand why people would scream when her Uncle Felix was pulling his shirt up.
Throughout the concert, Jisung kept coming towards your side of the stage to check on you, not forgetting to send finger hearts to his baby girl.
"I want to go see him." Jiwon pouted at you.
"Daddy is busy, love." you told her sadly.
"He's not! He's laughing with Uncle Minho." she huffed.
Almost on cue, Jisung came to check on you two again. He noticed his daughter frowning at you and he just knew she was about to throw a fit. His paternal instincts took over, so he didn't hesitate to go to the staff and ask them to allow her to come up on stage with him. Since they were only performing Star Lost, he knew she wouldn't be bothering them.
A security guard came to you and asked you to come backstage with him. Confused, you sent a look to your partner only for him to send you a wink in return, which made the fans around you scream loudly. You followed the man as he led you to a hallway. Soon, you found yourself backstage with Jisung coming up to you.
"What the hell are you doing?" you nagged at him.
"My baby wants her dad." he smiled at Jiwon. "You watched me, Ji?" he asked her.
"I did!" she said proudly. "Can I go see Uncle Chan?"
You glared at him, but he acted as if he didn't see it as he took her in his arms. "Of course, baby." he cooed, and then looked at you. "The fans love her and you know it."
With a sigh, you held your hands up in defeat. "Fine, but keep an eye on her."
"I will." he kissed you before running back on stage, holding his daughter closely.
He sang along the lyrics with the other members as the crowd cheered upon seeing the toddler. He then put her down for her to run off to Chan who engulfed her in a tight hug.
As much as there were fans who loved it, many others were quite annoyed. Seeing Jisung's daughter was a constant reminder for them that the man was taken and had you follow him everywhere. Well, that's what they thought. This couldn't be any further from the truth because you hated bothering Jisung while he was working. He was the one who wanted to brag about you and your child, because that's what he was the proudest of.
The song ended and the members lined up to speak to introduce the next track. Jiwon had found her way to Jeongin as she hugged his leg, the maknae patting her head. He placed his mic in front of her, but she turned her head away in shyness.
"Don't you want to say hi to Stay?" he asked the girl in a sweet tone.
Slowly, she turned her head back to the mic and nodded. "Hi Stay." she said in a small voice, and the crowd was in awe.
She got shy again and hid her face behind Jeongin again. Chuckling, Jisung came to get the girl to bring her back to you, whispering in her ear to say bye to the crowd. She shook her head violently before starting to cry.
"It's okay, baby, I'm here." he said softly as he hugged her tightly. "Do you want to go back to Mommy?" She shook her head again, messily wiping her tears off. "What do you want?"
"I don't know." she whined.
She was obviously just tired since she didn't take her nap before the concert. However, by some magic, she stopped crying the moment she saw you join them. You took her from Jisung, who apologized for making her cry.
"Don't, she's exhausted, that's all."
The moment she found comfort in your arms, she snuggled happily in the crook of your neck. The fans were especially quiet as they observed the family converse, no mics around to hear what they were saying.
Jisung finally remembered he was in the middle of working and turned back to face the crowd. "Guys, I'm sorry." he laughed out. "Jiwon is happy to see you, I promise, but she needs some sleep. How about we get some applause for her?"
People clapping startled your daughter as she shot her head up in a sudden move. Her eyes widened as she analyzed her surroundings, until she stopped when she spotted Jisung.
"I want to be with Daddy." she whined, trying to get away from you.
Here it goes again.
"Sungie." you glanced at your boyfriend.
"I got her." he laughed, seeing your annoyed face.
Having a toddler was so much work. The girl changed her mind every two minutes and you really had a hard time saying no. This time, however, you didn't mind. As long as she was safe in her father's company, you felt at peace with it.
You kissed both of their cheeks before walking backstage. Jisung apologized to the crowd again as he announced the next song they would be singing. Jiwon had a smile back on her face and she got a piggyback ride from Changbin, as he ran around the stage while they sang Super Board. You absolutely adored what you were seeing.
Jisung came back late. Jiwon had already passed out in the comfort of her pyjamas, while you had turned the television on, yawning as you watched the news. Your boyfriend didn't bother removing his shoes when he walked in your room. He was more than exhausted and fell on the bed next to you.
"I'm so sorry, love." he mumbled, his face buried in the bedsheets.
"For what?" you chuckled, passing your hand through his hair.
He shot his head up to frown at you. "Didn't you see online?"
"Seen what?" you asked while taking your phone to see what he was talking about.
He immediately got up and snatched your mobile out of your hand. Taken aback, you huffed.
"What is it?"
"Nothing."
"Han Jisung." you said in a warning voice before attempting to get it back, but he was quicker than you and held it out of your reach. "Tell me what is going on."
"I rather not." You crossed your arms, sighing loudly as you waited for him to either give your phone back or spill out what he was hiding. Regardless, he refused to budge. "Y/N, please."
"Am I not allowed to have my phone?"
"I don't want you to see what's in the medias." He came closer to you, putting a hand on your cheek. "Do you really want to know?"
You were starting to understand slowly what was going on, so you let out a hum as a yes. With a sad sigh, Jisung pulled out his own phone and searched for something. He hesitated as he gave you a sad look, but ended up showing you nonetheless.
'Y/N interrupting Stray Kids concert.'
'Y/N under fire for not watching over her daughter properly.'
'Stray Kids Han's daughter crying at their concert.'
'Fans furious that Stray Kids Han's girlfriend is a bad mother."
He looked at you expectedly, afraid of what your reaction would be. It wasn't the first time the fans had been rather mean on the Internet. The first time was when you revealed your relationship. Then, when you announced your pregnancy. Other times were because they judged your behaviour when travelling with him as toxic. Needless to say, this was not new for you. But it still hurt.
"I see..." you whispered.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked for Jiwon to come on stage."
You groaned, rubbing your face with both hands. "It's not your fault. I mean, I understand why they assumed I wasn't being a good mother at that moment."
"Y/N, don't-"
"Don't what?" you cut him off, snapping at him. "Jisung, I get that you want us to be part of your life with Stray Kids, but it is not by letting you show her off to the public that I am a good mother. She's only three, for fuck's sake. She doesn't deserve to have a freaking scandal at this age. I should have thought it through beforehand."
He scoffed. "We did think about it. We talked about this whole situation for weeks before revealing we were having Jiwon."
You shook your head. "I agreed because I thought you would be there for us. Truth is, you haven't done shit every time something about us comes up. No defending me, just pure silence until the subject is not trending. All for what? To look all perfect in front of the cameras?"
The hormones were definitely affecting your mood. You had never been so... direct and rude to Jisung, the one you had called the love of your life for years. The worst is that you didn't blame him for not handling the situation well, because it wasn't an easy one and he was doing his best.
"It's the company-"
"I understand you want to protect your idol image, but think about us in all of this. I've been putting up with that shit for a long time, but there is so much that I can take."
You got out of your covers before you walked towards the bed where your little girl was sleeping peacefully, completely ignorant of the conversation. Jisung, who couldn't find the words to say something back, watched you join your daughter in the bed. He got the message the argument was over as you turned the lights off and laid down, your back facing him.
He needed to fix this, no matter what. Sure, he had worked so hard for his career to be successful, but he couldn't bear with the thought of you and Jiwon leaving him. It was simply not an option. So he went to bed, your side of the mattress empty, as thoughts filled his mind.
Jisung still had one concert left until you could go back home. You hadn't addressed a word to him, other than some fake loving comments to not look suspicious in front of your daughter. You truly wanted to tell him that you were sorry, but there was some truth in what you said. You were torn between wanting to act as if it didn't happen and actually doing something about the issue. Both options sounded like shit to you.
"Wow, you look like a princess tonight!" Hyunjin complimented Jiwon as you two walked in their dressing room.
"It's a blue dress." she jumped happily. "I chose it by myself."
"You have very good taste, Missy." he ruffled her hair, which made her laugh.
"My hair is messy now!"
"Hmm..." he frowned. "I wonder how did this happen..."
"You did so!" she pointed at him, laughing.
"Me? I would never." he gasped, offended by her accusations. "Maybe it's your mom."
"Mommy would not do that." she denied right away.
"Oh well, it can't be me!"
They continued to argue playfully for a bit, until she grew tired of it and walked to Seungmin. He had brought his SKZOO plush and she was begging for him to let her play with it. Hyunjin, sat next to you as you kept an eye on her.
"She is so much like her dad, it's extenuating." he grunted. "I don't know how you do it."
"Jisung is actually helping me out a lot with her. I know it's, like, the bare minimum, but I just didn't expect him to be taking this role so seriously. He was so scared before she was born."
He chuckled. "I remember, yeah. Still, they are one hell of a duo."
You hummed as you agreed with him. A stylist came up to you both to fetch Hyunjin to go do his hair. You found yourself alone again, yawning loudly since you didn't get much sleep the previous night.
"You can sleep before the show begins, you know?" a voice said, coming from your right.
"Who's going to watch her?" you gestured to Jiwon, who was now on Minho's lap as he hopped his legs up and down to entertain her.
"The boys know her well enough to watch over her properly." Jisung assured, putting a hand on your shoulder. "Rest, please."
You sighed in defeat, too tired to act petty with him. He helped you lay down on the couch where the two of you were already sitting and made sure to place your head comfortably on his lap to act out as a pillow. Angry at him or not, feeling his touch as he stroke your hair gently was the best thing ever. You found yourself dozing off peacefully only seconds later.
But you woke up when the concert was about to start. You were no longer laying on Jisung and the only people in the room were the staff. Jiwon was with a bodyguard as they played with Leebit and PuppyM. At least, you knew she was okay. Hearing loud music, you then understood that the concert had already started. Cursing at yourself, you interrupted Jiwon's playdate so you could go find your seats. The bodyguard offered to accompany you, which you accepted gladly.
Sitting throughout most of the concert, nothing they did was much different than the day before. Some jokes were new, and Seungmin was being particularly annoying towards Chan, but nothing too much out of the ordinary. Soon enough, it was time for them to do their ending speeches. Hyunjin was as sweet as always, Felix flirted a bit with the fans, Chan was emotional as he began to cry, Minho made some jokes on how he wouldn't miss Stay, Changbin did some aegyo, Seungmin made weird noises, and Jeongin was the only normal one... You waited patiently as your boyfriend was smiling at the crowd, waiting for them to quiet down. Inspecting him more attentively, you were surprised to see a single tear drop from his eye. It could have been sweat for all you know, but you were certain he was crying.
"Thank you so much for tonight! I had a lot of fun." he spoke and the fans went wild. "I'm sorry I couldn't give you the best of my performance today."
What was he saying? You thought he did perfectly, as always.
"I think you know why I wasn't feeling so good." he chuckled shyly. "I am always grateful to Stay, but last night, you guys made me feel very disappointed in you."
Now, you were definitely confused. The crowd started to talk among themselves, but Jisung put his finger in front of his mouth so he could continue to speak.
"I think some of you don't realize that being a parent is very hard, which is totally understandable. I, myself, didn't get that back when my Jiwon wasn't born yet. However, this is no excuse to assume that my girlfriend is not parenting our child properly."
It took everything in yourself to not stand up and go on that stage to take the microphone away from him while you felt a flush on your cheeks appear. Although the other members seemed totally calm about the situation, you knew this would get him in trouble with the company later, and that was the last thing you wanted for him. Even after everything you said to him. The fans, however, were not reacting like you had expected. Instead, the majority was agreeing with your boyfriend, some yelling apologies to him.
"Anyway, this is just a reminder that we are still only human beings who are trying their best, and I will continue to work hard so Stray Kids and Stay can still be around for a long time. Again, thank you so much for tonight."
By then, you were not listening anymore. The only thing you had in mind was running to him to yell at him for being so careless with his actions. So, the instant they left the stage, you hurried to go join them back in the dressing room, struggling in the process since you had a confused Jiwon in your arms who kept on questioning you.
"Han Jisung!" you yelled out as soon as you stepped foot in the room.
You put down your daughter for her to run back to the plushies she had to abandon earlier. Chan gave you a reassuring smile before he joined her, Changbin doing the same after. As for Jisung, he looked scared. He approached you, still on his guard, and you were giving him a death stare.
"Why on Earth would you do that?" you asked, your tone still a bit aggressive.
He looked down at his feet as he bit his upper lip. "You were right. I don't defend you enough when it should be the bare minimum."
"But you said that the company-" you started, this time your voice filled with worry.
"Love." he stopped you from talking, walking up to you to grab both of your arms. "It's all good. Chan already gave a heads up I would be doing this and, don't ask me how, but they gave me permission. You don't deserve to be treated like shit when I know you are literally the best at everything you do."
You felt the same as when you started dating as the blush crept up on your face. "You think so?"
"Of course. You went through a whole ass pregnancy and literally created a bundle of joy we call our daughter."
Talking about her, she had appeared next to him. She jumped up and down as she reached her hands up for Jisung to pick her up. He obliged and gave her a big kiss on the cheek.
"You were boring today." she pouted.
"How so?" he asked her, slightly offended by her comment.
"You were talking a lot at the end."
He let out a laugh before telling her a quick 'sorry'. He then focused back on you, sending you the biggest smile.
"I love you both so much, but I love you especially." he continued with his sweet words. "I'm sorry I hurt you before."
You didn't realize you had started tearing up until Hyunjin appeared with a box of tissues. You took one, embarrassed, and dried out your wet cheeks.
"And I'm sorry I yelled at you. I don't know what took over me, I was just so... It doesn't matter. I'm simply sorry." you sniffed. "And I appreciate a lot what you did on stage, it's actually so sweet of you."
Jisung grinned at you before he brought you closer for a long-lasting kiss, resulting to the boys and your daughter making sounds of disgust. You didn't care, your attention was solemly on the man you loved for now.
As you were nearing the end of the book you were reading, you were interrupted by loud noises coming from your living room. Confused, you closed your novel before heading towards where the sound came from. Not so much to your surprise, you spotted a bowl of cereal on the ground with milk spilled all over the floor. You sighed as you rolled your eyes at the pair in front of you.
"What did I say about eating cereals on the couch?"
The duo exchanged glances as their mouths were full of food, and one had a bowl missing from their hands.
"He did it!" Jiwon snitched.
"I am innocent!" he exclaimed in defense.
You pointed to his empty hands. "I'll have to trust her on this one, sorry love." you chuckled.
You were about to bend down to clean up the mess, but a sudden urge to vomit took over. You ran to your bathroom and let it all out in one go. As much as you wanted to wait for a bit longer until you announced the grand news to your lover, it was becoming more and more difficult to keep it a secret. It was the fourth time in two weeks that you had barfed, it was almost evident at that point.
"Baby, are you okay?" Jisung joined you next to the toilet.
"All good." you coughed out.
He bit his lips, not sure whether he should tell you his guess on why you were sick. You going for another barf was his signal that he should probably tell you.
"When's the last time you were on your period?"
You raised an eyebrow at him. "What?"
"Mommy, are you okay?" Jiwon asked with a worried voice as she arrived to join you.
"I'm alright, sweetie. You can continue to watch your show, okay?"
Hesitant, she left nonetheless, which allowed you to answer Jisung's question with another question.
"Why are you saying that?"
He shrugged. "This looks similar to what you were going through when you were pregnant with Jiwon." Your mouth slowly turned into a smile before you giggled happily, leaving Jisung perplexed. "Did I say something?"
"I know this might not be the best timing because of your plans for the year." you started. "But I have, hopefully, excellent news."
His eyes grew bigger as shock took over him. "Am I right? Are you pregnant again?" You happily nodded, and Jisung drowned you in his embrace, holding you tightly with excitement. "We need to tell Jiwon! No, wait. Not now. How about tomorrow? Hmm, I have work... Next week then?"
As he kept on rambling, you cut him off by bringing his lips to yours, catching him into a kiss. He kissed you back lovingly, but pulled back almost immediately after.
"Ew." he coughed out, having gotten a taste of your vomit.
"Yeah, that's pregnancy for you." you smiled apologetically.
"Let's celebrate without kisses for now... and with a some mouthwash."

Oh yeah, the request was about reader confronting the ancients just before they could fight D.E, the reader tried to convince the ancients that fighting D.E would only lead to failure and their soul jams taken.
But reader already knew that the ancients wouldn't stop, and so they sorta betrayed them and started a battle, with reader crumbling in the end of it.
I hope that this was a good summary of my request, my memory is a bit foggy from how long this was ago, I think it was a few months ago? Couldn't properly remember the date.

A Forced Hand (Ancient Cookies)
Looking back at what I wrote for this one, I figured it could use some tweaking with what Iâve got now! Hope you like it! Apologies for the wait, Rat Anon!
âTheyâre here, open the gate!â
A cookie soldier announced at the top of a wall as the gates of the Cookie Kingdom opened.
âTheir Majesty awaits you, Ancient Heroes.â
âThis is most unusual for Y/N Cookie to invite at such a time!â
âTheir soldiers also seem to be on high alert..â
The other cookies looked around at Cacaoâs statement. The cookies of the kingdom do look like they were in a hurry. They were readying their gear, prepping kingdom weaponry, while others justâŠstared at the ancients. Pure Vanilla shook his head however.
âThe attacks from Dark Enchantress Cookie have been getting worse lately, itâs only understandable that theyâre afraid..Y/N Cookie likely is as well. That must be the reason for this meeting.â
âIâm worried for them, they havenât been around either. Seeing them in fearâŠit saddens me.â
âY/N Cookie is preparing for an attack on their kingdom, we have to be there for them. Thatâs what friends are for.â
âGolden Cheese: That is a possibility, but this could also be another plea from them to stop our plans to face Dark Enchantress Cookie, which is something we cannot do.â
âIt brings me no joy to refuse their wishes, but stopping Dark Enchantress Cookie is the only way to bring an end to her evil.â
âY/N CookieâŠâ
The ancients made it to the main castle where soldiers opened the gates for them, they walked until they approached the throne room. In the middle of the room stood a long table.
There, stood at the other side of the table was Y/N Cookie, sat down and looking upon their friends as they entered the room, the glow from the glass window behind them being the only thing illuminating them, their eyes shining.
That look in their eyesâŠthe ancient cookies knew that this would not be an easy conversation.
You looked downwards for a moment before you sighed. You hope it wouldnât come to thisâŠ
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
A cookie soldier with a binoculars watched from afar on a tower as the ancient cookies entered the castle as the soldiers there closed it behind them. He nudged to the soldier next him.
âTheyâve entered the castle, alert the Commander.â
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
âWhatâs this about, Y/N Cookie?â
The cookie in question could only stare them down.
Both you and they know very well why you called them here.
âGolden Cheese: Y/N Cookie, you must understand this. Dark Enchantress is wrecking madness on kingdoms and cookies all across Earthbread! You of all cookies should know how much leaving her be would only make things worse!â
Which is exactly why you canât have them fighting Dark Enchantress Cookie! Failing would bring great consequences if she ever got her hands on their Soul Jam, Earthbread would be doomed..
âPure Vanilla: We will not fail if we are together, Y/N Cookie. Fight alongside us instead of against us!â
Her power is formidable, you all canât take any risks!
You looked downwards again for a quick second, you mentally pleaded in your head that you can convince them..you were losing hope.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
A cookie soldier rushes towards a tent in castle square, hurrying inside to see a cookie planning strategies with cookies at her sides, her red hair making her stand out amongst her peers.
âCommander Salsa Cookie! The ancient heroes have entered the castle and our soldiers are getting ready!â
The cookie soldier saluted to her as he spoke, Salsa Cookie looked up at him before dismissing the planning as she directed her attention towards the soldier.
âExcellent, continue with preparations. We need to be ready if they ever leave the castle. Have the entrance covered and remember to keep weapons set to stun, weâre supposed to keep them from fighting Dark Enchantress Cookie, not crumble them. Their Majesty is counting on us! GO GO!â
The cookie saluted before rushing off. Salsa Cookie saluting in return as she returned to planning, looking down towards a map of the kingdom..
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
âDark Enchantress Cookie needs to be stopped, Y/N Cookie! We canât stand by and do nothing!â
âGolden Cheese: The quicker we handle this mess, the more potential cookies we save from her evil!â
âFailure may be a possibility, but that does not mean we cannot try!â
Pure Vanilla: We understand that fighting her will be extremely dangerous, but together, we can overcome any enemy!â
âLet us fight her together, Y/N Cookie. I will do all in my strength to protect you and everyone!â
Your mood only soured and soured the more they opposed you. Why couldnât they see that fighting Dark Enchantress would only lead to her getting the Soul Jam in one fell swoop, bringing an end to your friends and Earthbread.
You couldnât allow this
Youâll make them seeâŠ
You stood up abruptly, a shadow over your eyes, this stops the ancients from speaking.
A silence filled the roomâŠ
UntilâŠ
âŠ
Well, at least you tried.
The doors to the throne room close and locked behind the ancient cookies, surprising and catching them off guard.
You asked them for forgiveness, for you will see that they never leave this castle..
The ancients readied their weapons after a moment of hesitation. It was evident now thar they had to fight their way out of the kingdom.
White Lily looked at you with sorrowâŠ
âNoâŠ.â
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
The soldiers outside readied themselves all around the castle grounds, with Salsa Cookie at the castle doors, barricades and soldiers behind her.
âThe doors are locked, Their Majesty has given the signal. We are to keep them in that castle for as long as possible!â
The soldiers acknowledged her orders as they stood on standby. Salsa Cookie only sighed as she stared at the doors, as time went on and on.
She never doubted your capabilities, but all the ancients at once? She was worried the more she waited.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
You knelt on one knee, tired. You had some bruises on your dough as you breathed heavily, tired from the fighting.
You tell them that you love them. They knew that, right?
âThen you need to understand why we have to do this, Y/N Cookie. Other cookies loved each other and Dark Enchantress Cookie is threatening their way of life!â
NoâŠthere had to be another way. You wonâtâŠ*cough*..let them leave.
Golden Cheese: âThere is no other way, Y/N Cookie. This madness must end now.â
You canâtâŠplease, just stay here. You didnât want to lose them..
You coughed again, jam spilling on the floor. The ancients gasped in horror at the sight. You wobbled as you tried to stand upâŠ
âŠbut end up falling over on the floor. Pure Vanilla didnât waste time rushing over to you.
âY/N Cookie!â
Pure Vanilla rushed to your side and held you close, the others following after.
Pure Vanilla: âY/N Cookie! Stay with me please!â
âGolden Cheese: Donât you crumble on us, Y/N Cookie. Iâll never forgive you!â
(frantically tries to heal you) No no no! Please, you can still make it! Healing flowers please work! Please please!
âDo not fall apart on me, Y/N Cookie! I know you are stronger then this!â
Dark Cacao held your hand, but he looked away from you. You understood, he hated seeing his friends in painâŠthey all did.
You told them you were sorry..
You tell themâŠto prove you wrong.
Give Dark Enchantress Cookie all theyâve gotâŠ
Pure Vanilla: âStop it! Donât say that!â
You weakly reached up and caressed his face, making him look at you directly.
You gave him a small smile, you gave all of them that smile.
You tell him, you told all of them not to despairâŠ
ButâŠ
Youâll miss themâŠ
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
Salsa Cookieâs head sprang up, catching the attention of the soldiers around her. She then suddenly ran towards the gates, trying to pull them openâŠ
âSomething is wrong, open these gates NOW!â
Salsa Cookie, followed by a group of soldiers followed after her, opening gate after gate until they finally reached the throne room.
With the last door openâŠ
Her and her fellow troops eyes widened at the sight of the ancients looking back at them, at least, 3 of them did.
Two of them were too busy sobbing over the still body of dough in one of their arms. The clothes the cookie woreâŠSalsa knew all too well.
âYouâŠ.â
Horror turned to despair turned into angerâŠ
âYOU!â
Y/N Cookie ordered that their friends would not leave the castle. Salsa Cookie aims to fulfill that promise, permanentlyâŠ

the end of love | daisy jones.
pairing: daisy jones x fem!reader
summary: two weeks after your break up, daisy decides to confront you and ask what's wrong.
warnings: it's the 70s, internalized homophobia, eddie being a bit of a dick, daisy is clean and the band is still together, reader is a lesbian.
a/n: i interpret daisy as a lesbian who deals with compulsive heterosexuality.
word count: 2.4k
breathe in. breathe out. it's just one song. record it all in one go, ignore billy's stupid complaints, and then go home.Â
well, what used to be home.
âdaisy, you ready to go?â she heard teddy ask from the other side of the recording booth. âyeah, i'm fine. let's get this over with.â the redhead said before taking a sip of the glass of cold water she had next to her. she closed her eyes as she felt the liquid make its way through her throat.
breathe in. breathe out. she opened her eyes to find the band and camila next to teddy, all smiling encouragingly at her. daisy was about to smile back when the door to the recording studio opened abruptly. âholy shit, tell me i'm not late.âÂ
oh fuck.
daisy felt like her heart was about to beat out of her chest. why is she here? she was supposed to be in new york, not los angeles.
ây/n! you are kind of late.. hope it was for a good reason.â warren said with a wink âtell me the guy at least fucks good.â the drummer added while wiggling his eyebrows.
the blue-eyed singer wanted to disappear. she tried to distract herself by playing with the hems of her long-sleeved white shirt. huh, funny. daisy thought. she always loved it when i wore this one.
âyeah, warren. he fucked better than you ever will.â y/n answered, not before rolling her eyes at their friend.
they didn't know y/n didn't fuck any guy last night.
they didn't know y/n would never fuck a guy. ever. they didn't know y/n was late because she didn't know if she could face her ex girlfriend after she told her she was leaving for good. they hadn't seen each other for two weeks, and it was fucking torture for both of them. they had grown so used to always waking up next to each other, cooking together, and doing pretty much everything together, and god did it feel weird to not see each other for longer than a day.Â
daisy felt like she couldn't breathe when y/n left. she always had to remind herself to breathe in and breathe out. it was as if the girl before her took all the oxygen in the world when she walked out of daisy's front door. right. she remembered bitterly as she felt the fabric of the shirt in her hands.
 daisy's front door. daisy's home.Â
because she refused to move in with her even after three years of secretly seeing each other. she refused to let anyone know about their relationship. not even simone, who is like⊠them. and daisy understood, she obviously did.
it was dangerous to be one of the world's most famous singers and openly date a woman. openly love a woman. openly say the word lesbian. people would crucify you in the street if they knew you were a homosexual. that was the main reason y/n was scared, she was just a tour photographer who happened to become close with the band and fall in love with daisy on the way. if the world knew she was into women, she would never get another job.
daisy tried to tell her they would be okay, to screw the rest of the world. they loved each other. how could that ever be bad? as far as she knew, love wasn't a bad thing. but maybe she only thought that because she didn't have much experience with it. her parents hated her. men used her. she only has the band, simone, and y/n. had y/n. not anymore.Â
âdaisy!â her name being yelled at her got her out of the trance she was in. âare you going deaf or are you just high as shit?â eddie asked from the microphone.Â
âshe's in recovery, eddie. stop joking about that.â she heard a soft voice she could recognize anywhere snap back at him. âright, sorry.â the bassist said with his hands held up high as a way of showing surrender.
y/n looked at her and they made eye contact for a solid second. daisy gave her a small smile and looked down. âalright, let's get this party started!â warren hollered as daisy put her headphones on to start recording. âokay, the end of love, take one.âÂ
the redhead remembered to breathe as she heard the first notes of the song.
i feel nervous in a way that can't be named.
i dreamt last night of a sign that read, the end of love.Â
she looked up and saw y/n drumming her fingers against her waist. she obviously knew the song was about her. ever since daisy met the photographer, almost every song she has written has been about her. the singer wrote the end of love the day after y/n walked out of her new york apartment.Â
it's pitiful, she thinks. even when they're not romantically together anymore, she still writes about her.
and i remember thinking even in my dreaming.
it was a good line for a song.Â
daisy tried to steady her breathing but when she looked at y/n she felt like she was about to pass out.
 breathe in. breathe out.
 breathe in. i can't fucking do this.Â
the flower-named girl placed her headphones down and said a quick âi need some fresh air.â before storming out of the recording booth. daisy walked through god knows how many rooms, until she found an empty one in the back of the building, she sat on the floor and leaned against the door she had just walked through.
you dumb fucking idiot, she thought. now they're all going to think youŽre singing about someone in the room, or even worse, that you've relapsed and can't record a damn song. she can't go through this again.
if the band thinking she was in love with billy dunne, when she's not even into men, was bad enough, them seeing her overreact this way is going to make them figure out she has been seeing someone.Â
there was a minute of silence while she tried to think of an excuse to say when she gets back into the studio, but it was all interrupted by a soft knock coming from the other side of the wooden door she has been leaning against.
âi'm fine, karen. just give me a second.â the blue-eyed girl said while running a hand through her long red hair.Â
âi'm not karen, but if you want me to go get her, i can do that.â her heart sank as she heard y/n's voice.
âno!â she heard her own voice answer in a quick desperate way. she grimaced at how pathetic she sounded.
âwell, is it okay if i come in?â
one beat. two beats. daisy unlocked the door.
the photographer walked into the room and sat on the opposite side of the singer, facing her. âdo you want to talk about it?â
 âtalk about what?âÂ
the girl sighed and leaned her face against the palm of her right hand. âabout what just happened. you don't normally walk out of a recording session, daisy. not ever. are you okay?â she asked as she looked straight into daisy's big blue eyes.
the singer stared back and bit her lip as she felt her eyes start to water. âi miss you.âÂ
âdaisy-âÂ
âno.â she interrupted. âyou say you love me but then decide to break up with me.â she says with a scoff. âwithout even letting me ask you what i did wrong. without even letting me try and fight for you. for us.â a tear streamed down her right cheek.
it took everything in the girl before her to not wipe it, the way she always did.Â
âlisten, i understand being scared. do you think i'm not frightened of how the boys will react if they ever find out we are the way we are? but i didn't care as long as i had you. i know you have your doubts. but why did we have to hide from everyone? simone would never treat us differently. we both know she's a lesbian. just like you and i.â she pointed a finger at herself and the girl who now wouldn't dare to look her in the eye.Â
âkaren wouldn't either, she's too busy minding her own fucking business to be disgusted by us. even camila wouldn't care, she'd be delighted to know i've never felt an ounce of love for her husbandâ daisy was fully crying now. god, she loved her girlfriend so much. why wasn't that enough for her?
âi left for that exact reason.âÂ
âwhat?â she asked.
âyou deserve someone who isn't afraid to love you. who isn't afraid of who she is.â y/n continued. âyou know, billy and graham saw simone kiss her girlfriend at your birthday partyâ she said with a sarcastic laugh. âand they didn't give a single shit.â daisy was silent as she listened intently to her ex-girlfriend's voice.
âwhen simone realized they saw her, she told them they'd been together for over five years. and shit, they truly didn't care. even warren said it wasn't fair simone found a girlfriend way before he met lisa.â y/n played with the rings placed around her fingers to avoid eye contact. âthe entire band knows about simone, and they think it's normal.âÂ
daisy's heart was racing, she didn't know if it was excitement for simone, because her best friend was able to love her girlfriend without a care. or if it was happiness, because the rest accepting simone could only mean one thing. if the six don't care about simone and her girlfriend, then that means they won't care about her and y/n.
the photographer was silent for a while, so daisy decided to speak first. âi don't really understand. you left me because you're afraid of them knowing about us. but, you also know they wouldn't care if they find out?â the singerÂŽs eyes scanned her ex girlfriendÂŽs face, trying to find an answer.Â
âyeah⊠it's stupid.â
âdamn right, it fucking is!â daisy sighed. âi love you. you love me. we can at least tell them and simone about our relationship.â
y/n was the one holding back tears now. âi want to. i truly do.âÂ
âthen what's stopping you?â her voice softened at the sight of the girl she loves the most crying in front of her.
âI can't openly love you, not when i can't even say⊠well, you know what.â
âgod, y/n. you didn't tell me you were still struggling with that. i could've helped you.â
âi know you would've, but i didn't want to be a burden.â daisy slowly raised her arm and caressed y/n's cheek in the soft, loving way she always does. âyou're not a burden. not ever. not to me.â the flower-named girl tucked the girl's hair behind her ear.Â
âi love you. i love you so fucking much, i can't breathe when i'm without you.â she continued. âyou helped me when i was trying to recover from my addiction. you were there when i got out of rehab. you've helped me stay clean.âÂ
âthat was all you, daisy.âÂ
âyeah, but you were next to me the entire time. the least i can do is be next to you, while you learn to accept yourself.â âit took me a while to come to terms with being a lesbian, too.â daisy said as she twirled a piece of y/n's hair around her finger.Â
âi used to think the only way i could make it into the industry was by not caring about men stealing my music because at least people would hear them. fuck, i forced myself to want them, the same way they wanted me. because that was the closest i thought i'd ever get to being loved.â âbut that's not what love is. love is what you and i have.â
y/n placed her hand over daisy's. âi want to be brave, for you.â
âyou already are. you just need to be brave for yourself. because you deserve it.â
âthank you, for everything.â y/n gave her a soft small smile. âyou don't have to thank me for anything, seeing you smile is good enough for me.âÂ
the two women locked eyes, and they just stared at each other for a small moment. y/n's hands began to shake with desperation, she craved the feeling of daisy against her. and suddenly, she felt a force pulling her towards the redhead girl, daisy placed her hands on both sides of y/n's waist, and instinctively, as if her body was made to be next to her's, y/n placed her hands behind daisy's neck, the same way she has done for the past few years, their bodies were pieces of a puzzle made to be together.
they both leaned into each other, they were so close, they could feel each other's noses rubbing together, daisy smiled at the sensation. âcan i-â daisy started âyou don't even have to ask.â the girl interrupted, before smashing her lips into the singer's.
their lips locked, the two women having been in the exact same position hundreds of times, but this was different. this kiss was about understanding, about forgiveness, about acceptance, about moving forward. it lasted a few more moments until they were out of breath and had to pull away.Â
âi love you, daisy jones.â the girl whispered against daisy's lips. âi love you, y/n l/n.â she answered with glossy, vibrant eyes. before getting back into her usual cocky self.
âwell, not to spoil my amazing new song, which is going to be a hit, but there's a specific lyric i think you're going to like.â she said, trying to fight back a smile. y/n rolled her eyes at her girlfriend's antics.
âoh yeah? what is it?â daisy cupped y/n's cheeks and stared lovingly into her lover's eyes. âi've always been in love with you. could you tell it from the moment that i met you?â the redhead sang before kissing her beautiful girlfriend again, and again, and again.
daisy still had to finish recording her song, and they still had to explain what took the photographer so long to find her, but luckily, this time y/n wasn't afraid to tell them the truth.Â
we were reaching in the dark
that summer in new york
and it was so far to fall
but it didn't hurt at all.
