I’m sorry I’m sorry I know you get scared by asks (?) but I saw your recent post and I braved the world of Pinterest yesterday and now I can’t unsee it. how much of fandom culture (hopefully it’s changed since the 2010s when we were teenagers) is just like. Incel culture for teenage girls?? like ‘good luck post for your fave to notice you’ but then there’s a culture of cycling between Actually Expecting That (thus being mean to irl gf’s etc) and like. Not knowing what to do when it inevitably either doesn’t happen or you do interact but they’re just the kind of friendly they are with every other fan and you’re not special?? and to me it’s sad bc we’re here to connect with their art and maybe you can bond with people irl who connect with their songs too, and yet there’s this entitled expectation that goes and ruins it not only for those people but actually does a bunch of collateral damage to the few who end up yk dating a celebrity??? anyway. rant. I’ll probably come up with some Nice Thing to do about it but mostly I’m glad the fandom has outgrown that (for the most part at least)! anyway. i think fan culture IS really sad :( i'm not sure what pushed it to be this way, a mix of social media and capitalism in fan culture i think has a lot to do with it. i don't know if people are JUST fans of the music as much as like people who grew up listening to 90s/00s music are? not to pull like "back in my day" grandma type shit but 😭 i feel like so much of fan culture ruins the actual experience of just listening to the music even.

i think it's harder to find like minded fans these days here for the right reasons. i looove the community we've cultivated on here with the amazing mutuals i have and bonding over the art we're given & loving these boys for who they are and not what we'll get out of it. i do think a lot of the fandom here has outgrown that stuff and it's different even than when i joined the tumblr fandom in 2019. it's better now imo. :')

I love this little exchange! I love how you sprinkle humor throughout the story, knowing the right places to add it so it adds to and doesn’t take from the mood of the scene- whether it’s a tense mood or a sweet or emotion in between.

So my first question is do you see yourself as a funny person?

And secondly, how in the world do you write a character who is not like you? You said somewhere that Felix and Lila are hard to write because they are both “smarter than me.” I’ve always wondered how authors do this…

felix and lila ARE smarter than me okay. to write them i have to plan out their dialogue and what they say vs what they think and what each of them are thinking during that conversation or exchange. their minds work more quickly and make connections better than i do, but that doesn't mean i'm not capable of getting there on my own eventually! luckily i get to make them go at my pace, and let their brainpower show through the deductions they make with the information given.

as to writing characters different to me... idk! i just like putting myself in others heads/shoes. you've seen my enneagram thing so you know as a 9 i just do this anyway. it's all about focusing on what they think and how they think it and how they're going to react. i literally go into their head and think their thoughts and feel their feelings when i'm doing this! it really is like being possessed.

😅Well I try not to be too embarrassed about stuff I made though… honestly my Macgyver twilight au doesn’t make me embarrassed it just makes me giggle. Esp since it’s so different from everything else I do lol.

💋I love them 🥺 a lot, I’m actually very weak for them. I should write a first kiss fic 👀 especially because my own first kiss wasn’t nice, then it’s fun to romanticise it for others. I just. I like seeing how two characters’ relationships goes from just friends to slowly something romantic. Like. Kissing is essentially such a simple gesture but feelings behind it can really change the meaning.

❌I feel like it’s more like theme or genres than it’s tropes, like things that make me uncomfortable on next level. I don’t mind doing the more silly tropes like Coffeeshop au or bakery au (lol). So yeah. It’s more when we go into areas like pedo, incest, beastiality and such that I step out.

🦅 that has actually changed throughout my little fanfic craze that started last year. I used to just do it on the fly, which I feel like is quite evident in fics like sir and his good boy. Ive reread it recently to see if I’ve improved and Damn I want to rewrite the whole thing. I used to have an older sister

She used to play volleyball and was amazing in it

So one day she encouraged me to play whit her and It was really fun so I started playing

We always played together but one day after another match (that we won ofc) she acted so different?

So I asked her and she started kind of barging at me ykwim?

"Yo etsu, can we get some dumplings on our way back? Pleaseee?" She pleaded which soon stopped when she noticed that etsu was just staring blankly at the floor.

"Etsu?" She moved closer to her older sister and places a hand on her shoulder.

"Are you al-" before she finished her sentence she got interrupted by the hand slapping hers harshly away

"Don't touch me." The older sister replied in a icy cold tone which made the younger sibling flinch.

"etsu?.." she asked nervously

"How dare you."

"Huh?"

Etsu turned her head towards the younger l/n

"How dare you steal my dream?"

"Don't act so fucking dumb. I was the first one who got into volleyball,

I had to work my way up and all of a sudden you have to barge in and ruin my dream!"
