#this is so hard to word right. but twitch in parabola is fascinating to me

hm. sure has been a while since i thought too hard about twitch & made something surface-level silly secretly devastating huh,,,let's fix that

twitch sucks at silvering bc they almost never go into parabola, and that's very much on Purpose. twitch hates parabola! i mean, parabola is centered around dreams, memories, introspection, being in your own brain, full of lost things.

parabola is a place where you appear as your ideal, most You version of you. but what happens to someone who doesn't have that?? what if your brain has 20, 30 something voices in it who all have a different ideal self? you can't be all of them! i think their "parabolan self" is just, themselves. looking almost exactly the same. they don't know how to be anything else, it's too hard to think about it.

but,,,do they have to focus on appearing like that?? if they stop focusing on it will there be parts of the "ideal self" from the people in their memories flickering in,,,would it get worse when they think about it? can other people see it when twitch can't? not to mention focusing so hard on looking how they need to must make glasswork harder.

and what if they go to the waswood and visit "their" past memories? that's a whole other post to unpack. that's a Lot. other silverers understand parabola and the logic of dreams & memories enough to guide other people through them, but twitch hasn't even figured out their own yet-because they're not even entirely their own!!!

so basically. parabola fucking sucks for twitch, actually. you can't hide from your own memory stuff in the Memory Dream Realm!!!
