I wanted to make this poll because I've seen various fics where Garak reassures Julian that far from being upset over him being augmented, Garak is grateful for it, either explicitly because (he thinks) they wouldn't be able to have their usual conversations if it weren't for the augmentations, or simply because he likes Julian "just the way he is" and wouldn't want him to be "different". Question why do you automatically Think that if you ship destiel they are hellers? Majority of destiel shippers are j2m fans. So are they hellers as well ? J2m are the majority of fans and majority of them ship destiel. 1 - I would consider a Heller a Destiel extremist. Someone who will - defend the ideal not considering other people's rights to an opinion, feeling entitled to attack personally someone for not having the same views. However, Im not very hung up of semantics. Most of all, I call out bad behavior, not ships. There are Destiel shippers that may not like Jared at all, but keep to themselves. It's the hate I criticize. Whose account should I be looking into, btw? Because 99% of the asks I get... are anon.

2 - Respecting someone who doesn't deserve respect is not being a decent human being, it's being spineless. I WILL NOT, under any circumstances, endorse or accept behavior that I find unacceptable. I will not allow bullying, death threats or accusations. It's because of this "forced acceptance of everything" that we have vile behavior in this fandom, and people feeling the right to do pretty much everything because we "need to accept them." yeah, because it's clearly the superior version, and I'm not too patriotic to concede a defeat.

so firstly, I don't hate anybody. and secondly, regarding the fact that victims really do exist, [insert "of course I know him, he's me" meme here]; although I don't often talk much about the abuse I went through or what my religious beliefs are. but, more importantly, statements like "survivors are people" can be phrased like "some people are survivors", and when you're unable to act according to the latter (like when you don't even consider that somebody might be one) then you display a failure to recognise the former - you're projecting; a survivor can't be appropriating their own pain, but you can be appropriating it to silence one. and thirdly, teachers do abuse - the problem isn't and has never been purely religion, rather that abuse is often done by somebody in a position of trust, power, and familiarity; and that the lack of a global minimum enables totally legal abuse on top of the illegal stuff. people with access and respect have more opportunity to abuse than those without, and that goes for teachers too. but, once again, you can be appropriating the pain of survivors to deflect and silence people. please remember this before you say that shit.

4) "get help/therapy"

way ahead of you - years ahead of you. but it's not magic - people who say this often act as if you'll start behaving differently overnight. not only are some things simply beyond the ability of talking therapy to completely rectify, it also takes time and has to be selective. you've got to pick your priorities, and that's definitely not whatever ship or joke you're mad at me about today. therapy is a slow, arduous process that can't guarantee results - it isn't "anti-recovery" to recognise that, it's honesty. while I've been in therapy for a long time, it is not necessarily going to change whatever you don't like about me - whether that's because it can't, because my focus now is on more important or urgent things, or because I don't want to change that.

5a) "tell your family you ship incest, see how that goes; normal people find it disgusting"

actually, some know, and they're fine with it. in fact, one prefers sibling pairings in fiction to all other dynamics because, to paraphrase, "it's a deeper level of messed up co-dependence". so unfortunately for you, my remaining family (by which I mean those not dead or cut out of my life after abuse and so forth) actually are able to distinguish between fiction and reality. plus, my reasoning for caring if they find it gross or not pertains only to recommending books and such - their opinions do not dictate my tastes.

5b) "don't sexualise/appropriate incestuous abuse" and "I bet you enjoyed being raped" and other attempts to upset me over 5a

firstly, as I've already said here, survivors can't be appropriating ourselves. in addition, you're not owed people's history or trauma - it's not okay to require people's personal information, or else you'll send anon hate and accusations of appropriation. secondly, I'm not sexualising our abuse (not just because I write horror, and so a lot of my writing is intended to be creepy, not sexy); these stories aren't about us, they're not us at all. entire dynamics/people (fictional or otherwise) aren't all going to be applicable to us or identical to us, just because they have something in common with us; they're not us and they're not accountable to us. thirdly, the fact that people send this stuff (attempting to trigger people's trauma over ships) is so much more worrying to me than somebody making our communal imaginary friends kiss. you're trying to hurt people. and finally, to the "I bet you enjoyed it" crowd (if you're at all serious): do you think you'd enjoy being in a real zombie apocalypse, alone, afraid, and really at risk of being eaten alive? a fictional scenario does not feel remotely the same as a real one. this isn't rocket science - things that look like you aren't you; fiction isn't reality; don't send anon hate. (edit: comparable "just leave me alone, I'm not hurting anyone" sentiments for yandere stuff, and anything else you decide I'm naughty for.)

6) "you'll be sent off to do manual labour once your communist revolution happens"

while I don't know why people think that I'm a communist, a dictatorial regime probably isn't going to want me to do manual labour. they're more likely to just shoot me; I'm useless and a liability. call me crazy, but something tells me that "ah yes, we shall give ze deranged cripple ze power tools" isn't the communist position.

yes they can, and they're used as such in both shakespeare and the bible. but you don't have to say this - I'm also okay with he/him, so you could've just used those and chilled out. also, do I look like somebody who views the rules of grammar as fully immutable and imperative?

my politics are informed first and foremost by the knowledge that I'm not cut out to be some kind of leader - I don't want to be the guy who tells everyone else what to do, I just offer what seem to me like valid criticisms of how we are doing things now, and general pointers on the values and ethics that I would prefer to move towards. things like individual freedom, taking the most pacifist route where possible, trying not to give excessive power to small groups of people (governments or corporations), helping those in need even when they're not palatable, and letting me suck loads of dicks. but please refrain from decreeing me something - there's not enough information in what I said, so you'll just be filling in the blanks with assumptions. (edit: workplace democracy seems cool to me; benefits are good; fair fines and taxes; and the "sperm makes you loopy" saga: 1, 2, 3, and 4.)

if it wasn't clear from my answer about politics or my post in general, you can have opinions about things, and you can voice that. it's just not realistic to exist at extremes: to think that you alone should dictate what exists in fiction, or to think that people shouldn't be expressing disdain or criticism of any calibur. say how you feel about things, that's fine, but it's also fine if people find that they don't value your input. plus we're all flawed, we can all be hypocritical from time to time, we all get bitchy, and we all make mistakes, or even knowingly fuck things up. that's important to keep in mind, whether we're talking about the one being criticised or the one doing the criticising - poor choices of words, imperfect tone, or contradictory ideas are inevitably going to happen occasionally.

You’ve been in this fandom longer than I have, when a character dies do people usually spam their tag with celebrations and nasty comments? I’ve only really been part of smaller fandoms before, and those sort of things were considered really rude and like you were looking to upset people, are things more lax in a large fandom like this or do the same rules apply?

okay so I got a few asks more or less to this same effect, warning me to stay out of the BnHA tag right now and such, and here’s the thing. first of all, to answer your question anon, the answer is absolutely yes. fandoms be wildin’ all of the time. the BnHA fandom is actually by and large one of the sanest Large Fandoms out there. really, it is. but fandoms by their nature are filled with people with opinions! and the bigger the fandom, the more people and the more opinions there are. and most of those people will want to talk about their opinions, and share them with other people, and connect with people who are like-minded, and debate with people who are not. and all of that is literally what fandom is about. 

and an unavoidable part of that is that sometimes people are gonna have opinions that you REALLY don’t agree with, and you have to put up with seeing those opinions everywhere (because like it or not, fandom is a public space, and people are allowed to express their own opinions in that space), and it kind of sucks, ngl. but at the same time, it works both ways, and other people might not agree with your opinion either, but you still have the right to express it. that’s just how it goes! and honestly it’s not a bad thing in the long run for people to build up a tolerance to reading views they disagree with. it can make you more open-minded, and it’s a good way to sharpen your critical thinking skills, and just in general it’s not a bad thing to be able to co-exist with other people even though you might have very different points of view.

however! the key thing in all of this that people unfortunately forget sometimes is that fandoms are fiction, whereas the other people you are interacting with are real. and for me personally, I will always prioritize the feelings of real, actual people over the feelings of fictional characters. and what this means is that I honestly do NOT care at all whether or not you hate Gran Torino, or you think Tomura is irredeemable, or you think Bakugou and Endeavor don’t deserve redemption, or you think that a certain ship is toxic, or whatever! I can and will disagree with literally all of those takes, but you have just as much a right to an opinion as I do. and so as long as our disagreements are limited to these entirely fictional matters which literally have no bearing whatsoever on anything in the real world, that is FINE. we are totally cool. you do you, and we can debate these things if you want, but I will do so with respect, and if I’m ever not respectful then by all means please call me out on it.

rather, where I do draw the line is when people start attacking other real-life people over their opinions on fictional characters. “I hate Gran Torino” is one thing. but “anyone who likes Gran Torino is a terrible person" is quite another. and this cuts both ways!! “I don’t agree with villain stans” is one thing, but “villain stans are clowns with no reading comprehension at all” is a totally different take, and the latter is incendiary and condescending and lumps a very large and diverse group of people all together in the same box and very specifically attacks them as individuals, rather than the actual takes. and that, imo, is what makes a fandom start to feel toxic. when people start attacking each other, rather than the opinions they actually disagree with. when people start prioritizing their defense of fictional characters over the real life thinking and feeling human people they’re interacting with.

there’s just no need for that. it’s actually not hard to treat other people with respect. you just have to remember that they’re actual people, which unfortunately is something that we don’t always remember to do when we’re typing out words on the internet. ideas don’t have thoughts and feelings! opinions can take whatever you throw at them, because they are just opinions!! fictional characters could not care less what anyone is saying about them!! they don’t give a fuck!! but sometimes people in fandom do this thing where they identify with an opinion/character/ship so much that they allow attacks on that opinion/character/ship to hurt them personally. and conversely, they dehumanize people with the opposite opinion so much that they become capable of attacking them pretty damn viciously without feeling any remorse about it at all. and that’s when it gets toxic. and unfortunately this is such a commonplace thing that I think we’re all guilty of it sometimes. but basically, this IMO is the true hallmark of toxicity in a fandom. when people stop having respect for other people. when it goes from “this take is dumb” to “these fans are dumb.” because at that point we might as well not even be talking about the fandom anymore. reasonable discussion has left the building and we’re all just standing around throwing shade at each other as if that is ever somehow going to prove any kind of point.

tl;dr the bnha tag is kind of toxic right now, ngl, but not necessarily for the reasons people might assume. however, that being said, I’ve still seen far, far worse in other fandoms, and I think that by and large this one is still doing all right. I have not ever personally interacted with anyone who’s been nasty or rude or insulting towards me in any kind of way even if we disagree on something. fandom can sometimes look more fucked-up looking at it with a wide-angle lens from a distance than it actually is up close. most people are chill. and even if they’re not, you can still be chill to them, and I promise you in the long run that will make your fandom experience better. this isn’t particularly addressed to you btw anon. it really isn’t addressed to anyone! I’m just soapboxing in general. and I will take the BnHA fandom over, say, the Star Wars fandom any day of the week lmao.

1 - What according to you sets Taejin apart from Taekook? I have seen Tae doing the same type of skinship with JK as he does with Jin. In recent times if u see, he posted birthday wishes & pics & videos of the other members except for Jin. Tae was too clingy with JK in the Dynamite release interviews & his Birthday vlive whereas there was no Taejin skinship on Jin's birthday. Tae openly praises JK's singing & has a soft spot for JK's abs. What are your takes on these? I love your posts btw.

A - I’ve covered this topic before in the Tae and Jin’s POV posts, it applies to Taekook as well. Taekook are the best of friends and ultimate partners in crime, watch SOOP episode 6, it would directly answer your question. They have a beautiful and healthy friendship. 

2 - I just wanted to know how popular Taejin is in Korea. Internationally I guess although Taejin doesn't fall in the most popular BTS ships category but it is still moderately popular I guess? So, I would like to know whether it is atleast averagely popular in Korea out of the 21 BTS ships. And also which are the most popular ones in Korea & what according to u is Tae's reaction to Taekook shipping. He seems to enjoy it & always makes sure to give some Taekook contents in almost every BTS content.

A - I don’t know how popular they are in Korea. I don’t think Tae is concerned about “giving Taekook content” in their shows or performances. 3 - Hello! I would like to know your views on Tae's writing about Jin as "my eldest hyung" on BTS Festa 2020 when all of them were asked to write about what they think about the other members. I am a Taejinnie but I kinda doubted them because of this. It seemed as if the other members had a great impact on him while he considers Jin only as his eldest hyung. Also, Tae mostly uses the word Hyung to address Jin with (I know it's a Korean Culture). So, what's the borderline between brothers & couples?

A - I’ve answered this before, please refer to my previous asks. It should be somewhere in the last 3 asks posts. As part of the Korean culture that you mentioned, Tae can’t continuously keep using banmal (informal speech) even if Jin is his other half.  They are still work colleagues, they have to be mindful of the camera and other people and treat each other respectively, so ‘hyung’ it is.

6 - The tweet in Eng about Namjin's watch was deleted that day itself. Because Namjin shippers didn't like the way it was worded. Anyway, I found a Japanese tweet. They are a Namjin shipper. But they did clarify that it's not the couple watch they assumed. They assumed their watches to be the first pic.

A - Don’t worry about it. I removed the tweet. I read it and it says “I first noticed Namjin's watches in Jan 2018. At the time there weren't enough photos to confirm. Shortly after I saw that Jin's watch was the same series but a slightly different design than Namjoon's. It is still a couple watch”. The pictures they referenced are unclear. Not a cause for concern, I think. 

7 - I get so excited whenever you come up with a new post! Tae and Jin are just soo precious! While some might bemoan that their interactions constantly get cut by the editing team or interrupted by the other members, I actually like that they are an incredibly subtle and hidden pairing that's only known to a relatively small community of people who bother to analyse and look beyond face value. We don't need constant loud moments because the tension and eye contact between the two says a lot. BTW, did you notice that the "eat" in EatJin is TaeJin spelt backwards? Hahaha. I mean it's probably sheer coincidence (Is it though?) but DAMN.

A - I no longer believe in coincidences when it comes to Taejin lol. Actually… thinking back., they’re actually quite “in your face”, besides the subtle moments. It’s like hiding in plain sight? Tae does eatJin alright, he’s never subtle about that. I’m still waiting for that EatJin ft. Tae.

Again huh? This whole comeback, except for the VLive, these two have been kept apart. Taejin were going to sit together. Then the staff asked Tae to come and sit on the other side. He even keeps looking at Jin. 😐 TBH, I really don't understand why the boys, in general, need a seating arrangement for interviews? Like what's the need?

A - Recently they haven’t been sticking to their official lineup. It used to be Tae - Yoongi - Jin - JK - Namjoon - Jimin - Hobi. But now they’re quite randomly positioned for each event, I’m guessing it’s because they don’t have any live appearances or overseas interviews. Just the KBS interview and radio show just recently. We saw how much preparation is required for them to get ready. I think it’s for the boys’ and staff’s convenience? It probably helps them with direction and not look so lost deciding who to stand where in every event or show. They’re always on a tight schedule, and already have a lot on their plate. Without following a lineup, just like in that tweet, they’ll have to rely on staff to guide them and it takes time to make sure they’re all ready. 

9 - This will be long pls bear with me. This is what my poor brain could interpret from what I saw. So Jin already has his bags unpacked in the upper house before the room allotment takes place. When they discuss abt it jimin tells that he’ll take the upper house. Jk tells he’ll take the lake house and hobi says he wants to share it with jk. Then tae asks where Jin is going to sleep and he replies by saying that he doesn’t know. In the end tae chooses the upper house with jimin. But the footage that they showed us are different. Jin in the tent and tae in the main house. My delulu mind thinks that they slept together. Apparently vmin and 2seok were roommates, but tae is sleeping in the main house. I’m not sure abt this but this is what I feel- hobi could’ve slept in the lake house with jk while taejin were in the main house. Maybe that’s why he had difficulties with bugs. Jin who was shown waking up from the tent tells that he didn’t have any problem with bugs. He didn’t have any problem with bugs maybe because he slept in the tent only in the morning.  15 - Hello! It's been a while since I started thinking about this. There is this taejin moment where jin sings 'you've shown me I've reasons I should love myself' on stage to tae and literally almost no-one talks about it as much as they should! And it freaks me out bc it is such an important moment! Like our jin, who is always shy and tends to make everything a joke, sang to tae, in front of thousands of army, something so deep. Like he f*ucking said that tae made him love himself! And I don't know if a lot of people know this but few days before jin did a live where he talked about loving yourself and he said that he didn't really love yourself before his debut and he learned some time after debuting. And after, I think, 3 days he sang that to tae! This can't be a coincidence and I'm freaking out bc I always think about this and what it implies. I literally want to cry just thinking about it bc it's SO beautiful. I know they all love each other, but I never heard anyone of them say such things like 'oh you made me love myself', and the last person I would ever expected to actually sing it to another member was jin. This is probably my fav moment, it just warms my heart so much and makes me feel less anxious bc I know that whatever may happen they got each others backs. Sorry for the long message but i suddenly felt the need to send you this haha.

A - It’s definitely not a coincidence. He doesn’t do these things carelessly, when he decided to sing it to Tae on stage Tae wasn’t expecting it and was caught a little off guard. It really is a beautiful and significant moment. That declaration of ‘being with you brings out the best in me’. It’s really not easy to say such things. Tae really does mean a lot to him and I'm sure he expresses it personally to Tae but he also likes to express it loudly at times. I love their bond so much 💜

They have been paired in photoshoots or in professional settings. But in fun activities, where things are more candid, I don't think they've ever been paired as a duo before. For example, BV, Run, Summer/Winter Packages. Right? Or am I missing some instances? 🤔

A - You're right. Only the Dubai outing. That's interesting, I've forgotten how they ended up getting paired together in Dubai. They had that fanclub mid autumn festival interview thingy but that’s scripted so nope. No candid fun activities of just the both of them alone so far. Unless you count the Yoontaejin supermarket outing where Yoongi made himself busy while Taejin flirt. Ping pong and their fish fileting session in SOOP? Short but still considered candid?

A - I feel the same about that ping pong match. It feels really different. I think it’s partly because we’re used to seeing them flirt and be all over each other with the other members around, and for once we actually have just the both of them in a candid scene, the pure chemistry and softness is pretty overwhelming. A - Yeah they don’t care. I noticed that they really don’t care as much as they did before, especially Jin. The members mostly stopped as well. A little cautious but mostly just letting Taejin go wild on camera this year. A year ago I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have done what he did during the performance. Their relationship progressed very nicely. Tae confirms that he’s happier and it shows. It’s always been their year, it’s just a domestic one this year. They’ve been behaving like a whole married couple ever since their vacation ended.

Wanted to know your thoughts on this (because your opinions are always on point) - I've noticed that Tae covers/listens to non-BTS songs that have meaningful lyrics and I cannot help but connect it to his relationship with Jin. Some examples: (1) He sang Lay Me Down in BV3 and Sam Smith said that the MV is about his dream that LGBTQ people would one day be able to get married under any roof, (2) he played Troye Sivan's Seventeen on a vlive which alludes to the singer losing his virginity to an older man, (3) covered Pink Sweats' 17 on vlive and the lyrics to this song are so romantic and self-explanatory and Tae was 17 yo when he met Jin. A - I’ve thought about Seventeen and 17 many times already, but now that you mention Lay Me Down, I’m re-thinking everything. Lay Me Down is pretty straightforward. He didn’t actually choose to play Seventeen in his vlive though, it came up on his Spotify playlist after he vibed to another song and I must admit being a little surprised that he stopped the song instead of singing along to it. (For anyone curious, watch from minute 27 onwards https://www.vlive.tv/video/92410?channelCode=FE619). Pink Sweats’ 17 is the one that makes me really curious, could the number 17 have any significance for Tae? 17 and 92, 1992 being Jin’s birth year. I know what a reach this sounds like but still can’t help but be curious, it drives me crazy. 17 was the year he debuted wasn’t it? He first met Jin 2 years prior to debuting while they were trainees. Plus that was the youtube log where he started playing the wedding march out of nowhere again though he said “GROOM and BRIDE!” instead of his usual Groom Kim Seokjin! 

I don’t know what I think about it because to be honest anything that sounds like a reach is absolutely possible with them.

Summary:  Y/N has been struggling with her self esteem for years. After incessant pushing from your best friend, Y/N decides to commission an artist to draw her, expecting everything to happen via Internet. However, when your phone is stolen, you try to cancel the commission, but Peter Parker has other ideas. He quickly becomes enraptured by you, and a friendship forms easily. Will it lead to something more? Or will your past fears get in the way?

A/N: Okay, this chapter is necessary, but almost considered filler because you still haven’t met Peter yet. I’m probably going to post Chapter 3 in a couple of hours because I’m impatient and since it’s already written, why not, right? Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter Two

The next day ended up being much more hectic than you had anticipated. You woke up on time, but due to typical New York rain, your walk was littered with slips and multiple splashes. Not only that, your train ran late, and you were groped a surprising three times.

It was not a good day and it hadn’t even started yet.

You strode into work, dripping wet and with a mud stain on the bottom of your skirt and across your legs, but with your head held high.

You enjoyed your work as an editor for a publishing company. You’d moved from home to settle down in Manhattan for this job (though you were living in Queens); you had your own office with a view, and you were doing something you enjoyed. You got to read the fiction works and decide if it was good enough to move on and become a book (sometimes you got to help artists organize their works into a book). It was lovely for you, a wonderful job to have at what was considered a “young” age.

You dropped your bag on your desk and hurried to the break room. Arthur, a friend you had made immediately upon arrival, was refilling his coffee cup. He looked up at you and grinned, but that changed into concern when he saw your haggard appearance.

“Jesus, love, what happened? Shall I call up Charlie and have him bring you some clean clothes? They’ll be too big, of course, but—”

“It’s fine, Arthur!” you laughed, grabbing the coffee mug you had put into the break room. You poured yourself a large cup and just the smell started to warm your cold bones. “I’ll dry off soon enough.”

“This isn’t your old job, you know you can go home to change and won’t be punished, right?” Arthur asked with a chuckle on his lips.

You threw a sugar packet at him. “I know that, it’s not like I’m new here anymore! Besides, if I get sick, it’s not going to cost me a kidney and a leg because we have insurance.”

“No, it won’t do that,” he agreed as he picked up the packet.

“I’m getting to work,” you informed him, clutching the mug of coffee in your hands and scuttering to your office.

Work happened to be incredibly busy. There were more than thirty transcripts on your desk to work on, several of them rather thick. You actually ended up skipping lunch, instead snacking on an apple you had shoved in your purse before leaving your apartment. Of course, you were reminded of how you worked yourself to the bone when you first arrived at this job.

With the stressful echoes of your horrible old job ringing in your mind, you had worked harder than ever to prove yourself in NYC. Your supervisor was quick to notice how you showed up early and stayed late, reading and marking more than anyone. She pulled you aside, kindly informing you that she knew you were capable, otherwise you wouldn’t have been hired for the job. She also told you to “calm the fuck down” and that, “no one is judging you here, my dear.” It had been incredibly helpful to your adjustment.

Truth be told, you had wanted to hide from your horrible morning. When the day got off to such a rough start, you liked to hide yourself in the transcripts so that you could focus on potentially bolstering the dreams of the authors.

As it neared time to go home, your supervisor appeared at your door. “Hey, Y/N, go ahead and go home. I know you showed up soaked, you deserve an early start to the weekend. Go on, go.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll go, Edith, I’ll go,” you sighed playfully. She smiled at you and blew a small kiss before walking off.

Knowing that it would be a simple night in for you, you grabbed some transcripts to look at over the weekend. With that, and your coffee mug washed, you walked out of the office and into the Manhattan late afternoon sunlight.

It was a calmer commute back to your apartment. At least, it was until you got home.

Your phone was gone.

It must have been taken while you were on the subway, even though you tried so hard to remain vigilant. Knowing New York City, it was gone forever now, and you needed to get to work on not letting people get your information from it.

You logged on to your laptop and quickly went to your phone provider, going through the steps outlined in the “Stolen Phone” section. Losing your phone was not ideal, but you had a plan that covered this situation, so it could have been worse. And, thankfully, you had just backed your phone up to the cloud when you were at work.

After filling out the proper steps, you went to your email inbox and sent out a mass email to your colleagues, letting them know that your phone had been stolen and to email you if they needed anything over the weekend. It was then that you remembered your plan to take reference photos for Peter.

With a sigh, you realized that it would be a better idea to postpone the commission than to keep the seemingly sweet Peter waiting. You began to compose your email, once again thinking too much and taking probably too long for what should have been a simple email. Still, you ended up with this:

“Hi Peter,

I am so sorry, but today my phone was stolen thanks to the ever so amazing New York City subway. I unfortunately do not have another way to take reference photos (none of my friends are available), and I don’t want to fill a spot for your commission that won’t be able to be finished for a while, because my phone is being shipped and won’t be in for about a week. Therefore, so I don’t waste your time, I need to cancel the commission. I’m sorry if I did waste your time.

Thank you for your understanding, Peter. Perhaps I can commission you (for realsies) in the future. I still love your art, btw.

Y/N”

With a deep sigh, you ran a hand through your hair and sent Monica a message on Facebook, explaining the situation. She, of course, sent back multiple sad face emojis, but was overall understanding. Then she offered to hunt down whoever stole your phone and beat them up for making you stressed, which made you laugh.

You ordered some Thai food so that you wouldn’t have to make anything. After the day you’d had, the last thing you wanted was to get sweaty from standing over the hot stove.

As you settled into your couch to wait, with your laptop open next to you so you could message Monica, you got a notification for another email. You saw it was from Peter, and a melancholy smile touched your face.

“Hi Y/N!

Omg you live in the NYC area too??? In that case, if you’re comfortable with it, we could actually do your stuff in person! Only if you’re comfortable with it, of course, and I’d like to meet for coffee before we begin. Getting to know my muse is my favorite part of commissions; usually I just ask questions via email, but this way, we both get coffee!!

Please let me know if you’d be interested in meeting up for coffee in Manhattan this weekend; I think it would be very beneficial.

You blinked in surprise after reading the email fifteen times.

Peter was certainly passionate about art and about coffee. Though you didn’t blame him, because as an artist who went through a prestigious university, Peter probably lived almost solely on the beverage for four years. You debated whether you should take him up on his offer, because, well, you did want to meet him.

You were still thinking about it when you turned on your TV and selected the HULU app. You were still thinking about it when you picked a random episode of The Golden Girls. And you were still thinking about it when you answered your door for your takeout.

Finally, as you began to dig into your food, you made your decision. With your takeout container in one hand, you replied to Peter’s email with the other. You suggested your favorite coffee shop, Constellation Bakery and Café, and suggested meeting tomorrow. The ambiance was calm and friendly, so you thought it would be a good meeting place.

After informing Monica of the change in plans, you ate your Thai takeout with a vigor you didn’t know you had. The food was exceptionally delicious today, and the cooks always gave you extra shrimp in your shrimp pad Thai. The comforting food warmed you to the core, and you felt a lot more relaxed than you had in days, even weeks.

Before you went to bed, you got a reply from Peter, agreeing to meet with you at the coffee shop at 1 p.m. With an excited smile on your face, you actually fell asleep easily.

Might i remind anyone that tom did bad things in the past, stuff people STILL crap on him for today, and the show didn’t let him get away for it. Tom apologizes for literally everything now.

But if star also spies on people, or plays with his feelings, or ignores him for marco, or doesn’t tell him about the kiss. Then it doesn’t take much for the fandom to excuse her for it.

Don’t tell me tom can’t do it, but star can, that’s unfitting of the morals this show set up.

But if tom feels insecure because his girlfriend ditches him for marco a lot, something that’s fairly reasonable because that keeps happening in this show, apparently he’s horrible.

Where’s his “He’s just a teen” argument?, i see that all the time for star and marco, where’s it for tom?

Being in love or being a teen didn’t stop the show from teaching tom before, star and marco should not be the exception because they’re a fan favorite ship.

Point of the matter is, when you put a love point in the center of a story, you should not just “Shut up and watch”. Because whether we like it or not, this one happens to affect a lot of the plot.

and it’s hard to ignore that star and marco’s romance, have led to a lot of issues people have with the show. Kicking out characters unfairly, putting aside plots that are frankly more interesting and less predictable, the entire shift to mewni from earth? All of those trial right back to their plot.

if they were written well, i wouldn’t care at all. But it’s entirely unfun to watch marco and star treat their friends like this. It’s awful and very uncomfortable, which then makes star and marco less likable…which then makes them getting together seem less cute…and more…kinda mean-spirited.

if you wanna make us like they getting together, having star be unfaithful to her boyfriend and having marco attack him is not helping.

It was only two weeks into the new school year and you already had a huge pile of homework to do. The night was humid, so you had cracked open your bedroom window, put on a large t-shirt and sat down at your large desk to start some of it. 

A light blue cassette player blasted ‘Like A Prayer’ by Madonna through your flimsy headphones, which were carefully balanced in front of your high ponytail. Unbeknownst to you, Patrick Hockstetter slid through your open window and set his dark eyes on your figure. 

You already stared with a look of frustration at the maths equations that had to be completed by the next day. He watched you intensely, finding your struggle quite interesting. He watched, from across the room, as you twisted a pencil between your fingers. 

A sigh left your mouth and you were startled when you took a passing glance in the small mirror on your desk. Realising immediately who the intruder was, you remained calm. 

“How long have you been there?” You asked in a monotone voice, with a hint of a smile. You watched carefully in the mirror, as Patrick strolled towards you confidently, radiating confidence and amusement. 

“Not long.” He simply said. Patrick clumsily grabbed the papers on your desk and dropped them onto the floor, causing some to flutter astray. He climbed onto the wooden surface and sat facing you. Having stayed perfectly still throughout his actions, you simply admired his features. 

He roughly grabbed your chin and brought his lips to yours, engaging in a kiss that immediately became intense. You pulled away quicker than he wanted you to, leaving him slightly irritated. 

“Sorry, Patrick, but I don’t really have time to do anything else right now. I’ve got a mountain of homework and most of it has to be in tomorrow, please don’t be mad.” 

He nodded, leaning and turning his head to look at the sheet of paper that was causing you so much stress. His eyes scanned over it for a moment, as you were warmed by his attempt to help, “Oh it’s alright babe, you probably wont-” Patrick cut you off, “17.3.” he said. You smiled at the effort, but figured, since he rarely even turned up to class never mind paid attention, the answer must be wrong. 

Patrick snatched the pencil from your grasp and turned the paper towards himself. He proceeded to write down a method and answer below the difficult question. Once finished, he slid it back to you. The method was perfect and now the answer made perfect sense. Patrick smirked at your astonishment.  

“How the hell did you even do that?” You asked, with one eyebrow raised. Sure, you knew he was naturally intelligent, but you had no idea that he was blessed with the rare talent of being able to do such complex algebra…without a calculator. 

He chuckled, “Guess I’m just smart, huh?” You smiled in return and he turned the sheet back around to himself and completed the rest of the equations. 

By the time you had started your English essay, Patrick had already finished your maths homework. He slid off the desk and waited for you to move off of the chair for him. Only a moment later, you stood up and allowed him to sit down instead, before getting onto his lap. 

Patrick watched, with his chin on your shoulder, as you completed the rest of your homework, with him contributing answers every-so-often. 

You turned round to him once you had finished and straddled his waist, “Thank you for the help, baby.” You said quietly, placing a soft kiss on his lips. He smiled and twirled a piece of your hair around his finger. Finally, he had gotten what he had come for in the first place – you without any distractions.

Hi! I've seen these posts lately about a SG crew member that's answering questions about the show and its future developments and since I think you're very kind and smart I want to ask you something: this guy is saying A LOT of important stuff, about Lena being evil, Kara revealing as sg to her, about part of the writers being supercorp supportive...but how do we know that he's not just messing with us? I mean, he could have made it all up with no reason, I don't know if I should believe him lol

This is long, but bear with me!

So, I was actually thinking about this yesterday, and it could go a lot of ways! BUT keep in mind while a lot of the stuff this person said SEEMS to be spoilery and ground breaking -  a lot of it is a gimme.

Katie being super nice to the crew? I’m pretty sure it’s been said before about other shows she’s been on that she’s pretty much an angel! Chris being nice? I don’t like his character, and putting aside his opinions about his character, He’s probably a nice guy (I don’t think Melissa would date an asshole). Chyler being nice? Oh hands down, I wouldn’t even question it!

Katie and Chris being friends? There are plenty of photos of them all out together so it’s really not a stretch!

Lena being evil? The potential for Lena being evil will be around as long as she’s on the show. Do I think it’s out of character and improbable? yes, but keeping her gray keeps ppl guessing and it’s a subpar writing technique to draw in views and keep people guessing!

Now, let’s talk about the ‘big reveal’ - about how half of the writers are pro-supercorp and it would totally be a thing if not for one producer.

It’s pretty much a given that at least some of the writers ship supercorp or at least would make it happen if possible. I mean, as a writer, you want to give your audience what the want! and it’s pretty obvious they want supercorp! plus, look at the supercorp interactions! it would be nearly impossible to write that many chemistry inducing scenes between two characters and not know what you’re doing. (at the beginning, maybe, but now?)

As far as who is not allowing supercorp to be canon …  it could be a lot of factors! The EP, the network, DC, etc. Naming out the specific producer to me is a little odd, especially given how  … militant certain aspects of the fandom are. (I mean ive already seen some pretty violent posts about her - completely uncalled for btw DON’T DO THAT!)

Now, as for ‘the informant’ - there are several options, all of which are plausible:

A legit crew member of the show who’s telling the truth.

A legit crew member of the show who’s making things up just to mess with ppl. (least plausible in my opinion)

A legit crew member who’s being fed lines by the higher ups to incite a reaction out of the fandom (aka queer baiting)

A supercorp fan - wanting to stir things up, and drawing off pretty easily deductible facts to do so.

Some one who just wants to get attention, anon or not.

In the end, it doesn’t really matter what the person said, it all depends on the writers! If they want to sneak in SC scenes, they’ll sneak in SC scenes. If they want to leave it up in the air about Lena being evil, they’ll leave it up in the air. If they want the SG reveal to cause a rift, it will! It’s all up to them!

NOW, the one thing I will say I agree with 100% no matter who this person is - writing in to the writers, tweeting the show, talking to the cast - is SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE if you say it nicely, calmly, politely, and you come from a place of how it relates to you personally.

Saying ‘I’m a bisexual woman who would love to be represented by Supergirl being shown as a bisexual woman’ will do worlds more good than screaming about how much you hate Chris’ hairline.

Saying ‘I’m a lesbian and it bothers me how Lena is so queer coded and yet she is always seen with a man’ is much more effective than yelling out hate for actors.

Saying ‘I’m upset that Kara’s relationship with a black man was written off just to put her with a white character whose relationship with her is abusive; and now said black man is being pushed off on the queer coded character when they both deserve better’ is bound to do more good than going about starting fan wars.

Saying ‘I am extremely disappointed that a show that started out being about female empowerment can now barely pass the bechdel test’ has more weight that spamming twitter with hate.

tl;dr -  whether or not this person is legit, we as a fandom can do so much better in explaining what we want (and are more likely to get what we want) if we don’t act like assholes.

Remember when you were little and you wanted something and you’d scream and cry and your mom would say ‘Well if you asked nicely I’d give it to you but if you’re going to act like this then we can leave without you getting anything?

Well this is me, the fandom mom, and I’m saying please stop acting like jerks in the middle of the grocery store! Stop your kicking and screaming and ask for it politely before they make us leave without buying anything!

1. What episode/season of Supernatural was the first that you watched alongside the fandom on Tumblr? It has to be 11x11 Into the Mystic, because i joined tumblr after 11x10 aired. The Devil in the Details made me fall for this show again, so for the first time I was in desperate need for more fandom content. 

2. What’s your favourite Supernatural season? What’s your least fav.? Why? Season 13? :) Ok, probably season 12. I love how they changed it up and mirrors became broken mirrors and the overall feeling of hope for the light at the end of the tunnel took over. (I loved the second half of season 11 as well, especially the fact that Amara didn’t die, but the whole God business is just kinda whatever for me) I love(d) seasons 4/5, but  they’re extremely depressing. They had this caged feel, no hopeful or positive option or exit, no room to breathe, like buried alive. So, for that reason i can’t say they’re my favourite. I don’t really want to rewatch that time period, no matter how great the episodes are.

Least favourite? Season 6. It had too many things scattered all over the place and they ended up breaking viewers’ hearts. The audience was deceived the same way Dean was, we only had one episode from Cas’s point of view and by the end of it i just felt betrayed. (betrayed enough to take a break from watching it in season 7, which wasn’t actually a bad season)

3. When did you start shipping Dean/Cas? Any particular moment/aspect of the story that made you do it? If you had the power, how would you choose to canonize it? It happened without me noticing it, the same way they fell in love. I was the general audience, without really caring what kind of relationship they have, but loving their scenes together. I actually think it was some crack video on YouTube that made me see it clearly (i used to watch them before joining tumblr, s 10-11 hiatus). I can’t pinpoint the moment, i only know i had no idea what shipping is prior to season 11 and when i found out i just knew i’d always shipped them and that’s why i had the urge to hide my face during 8x07 for example.

How would i make it textual (cause they kinda are canon)? I don’t think i have a preference. They have so much history that it could work in different ways. I want them to use words though. Even if it’s a confession to someone else, i want it to be clearly spelled out for the audience before they crash their mouths together.

4. For Supernatural, if you write fic./make art (or both), what’s something that you’ve created that you wished more people would read/see? If you don’t write fic./make art, what’s a fic./art piece that you feel deserves more attention?  I’ve only written a few codas for Supernatural. And then there’s Shading Identity, which is a cross-over with Numb3rs and doesn’t have a lot of activity. It’s not half bad, but i haven’t updated since August. (Go someone leave me a comment and i’ll scribble the next chapter! :))  As of recommendations i made a post a while ago, should probably make another soonish though.

5. Which Supernatural character are you most like and why? Which character is your favourite and why? If i’m very honest, then probably Sam. I hide my feelings very well and I don’t talk about them. At the same time i’m a bit like Dean as well, cause i tend to suppress myself and do what’s expected of me. Obviously i can be like Cas too, with the feeling as if you don’t really belong. A bit of everyone really. Maybe that’s why i don’t have a favourite either. (though after 13x03 i’d go for Jody, she truly is pretty amazing. good people :))

6. What’s a nightmare that you had that you can never forget? What happened in it that made you so afraid? So, i was sleeping over at my friend’s place. I knew she had problems with nightmares (the classic demon sitting on your chest trying to take over thing) and ghosts stay close to her (i have no idea how real it is, but that’s what she’s told me). Ok, we were sleeping in the same bed, at some point i woke up and i saw her nightmare. This dark entity that had no interest in me and tried to get to her, but since i was in the way it couldn’t. I wasn’t really sure what to make of it in the morning, it seemed so real.  About half a year later i had a nightmare about her, how she was convinced that a little girl was possessed and wanted to kill her. I woke up in cold sweat. I wrote to her, asking if she was okay cause i’d had a dream about her (i quite often write to people when i’ve had a vivid dream about them). And she had had a nightmare the same night, about a girl with black holes as her eyes. But no, i haven’t had true nightmares of my own.

7. What’s an embarrassing thing that happened to you that you find hilarious looking back on? Or alternatively, what’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you, regardless of whether it’s hilarious now or not? I changed schools before 10th grade, didn’t know anyone, had only seen my classmates once and i don’t have a good memory for faces. We were divided in groups for English classes and so there were several room numbers for them in the time plan. I was late, didn’t know which room to go to, took a guess and opened a door. No one really said anything so i figured it was the right one, started to take a seat, take out my things when someone finally said: “You do know it’s 12th grade, right?”

8. What is one thing that someone’s said that stuck with you? Why did it stick? I just keep remembering negative things... Oh, my math teacher said after giving back the statistics test that i was an extremely brave girl. I have no idea what he meant by that, maybe the fact that i started the solution in one way, but kept messing up and had to start again, but instead of doing it the other way i used the one i had decided on... i don’t know, but i got an A so that’s good.

9. What is one issue (global, social-justice-related or something along those lines) that is important to you? Why? Kids allowed to be kids and themselves. Just 18 years of a person’s life can mess up decades and decades of their future. 

10. What is one thing that you wish that you could change about yourself? Why? I wish i had more self confidence and courage to be honest and true to my feelings even if it leads to a conflict with others.

11. What was the last thing that put a smile on your face and made your heart twinge with happiness? The ending of 13x05. No, really! I’ve smiled and laughed since then but my heart hasn’t twinged with happiness like that. I’m trying to remember the last time... probably when i was performing my poetry/songs and it was well received. Kind of creates this amazing atmosphere and electricity, some kids actually believing i was a witch. Last time i was happy was when i published my book.  My questions:
