HI I SAW YOU WERE PART OF THE SMG4 FANDOM!!! IM SO HAPPI, so I was wondering if you could do a smg3 x gothic reader 😱 if u dont wanna then me understand 😼 U MAKE THE BEST FREAKING FANFICS OR WHATEVER THEIR CALLED😍
୨୧ RUNWAY WALK ✮⋆˙
SMG3 X GOTHIC READER
A/N: Me love you for requesting me thank you for appreciating me writing, me happy because you (pookie) like me (evil adhd) silly writing, me smooch you now. (Also i dont know MUCH about goth subculture so forgive me if i fuck up AURGH)
Type: Romantic, fluff, headcanons.
Warnings: only some mentions of rituals? thats it ig
Song: II Sextile - Visions of You
Playlist: Breakcore fatal frame
✮⋆˙ Code red: He is deeply in love, i repeat he is deeply in love, you have turned him into a total dog for you, YOU BROKE HIM!!! (bonus points if you are taller than him)
✮⋆˙ He really LOVES your style, clothing and makeup, ESPECIALLY your makeup, but if its before you two date he didnt admit it so he did some kind of teasing because this man was too embarrassed to tell you that he finds your "style" attractive, so instead of owning up to it he would call you "edgelord".
✮⋆˙ I think he would have complimented you without you knowing before you guys got into dating, like you know those scenes in enemies to lovers films where one of the enemies goes "you look pretty" and the other asks "huh?" and the one that said the compliment would go "i said you look shitty!"? that was you two.
✮⋆˙ I think he would be a bit of a grandpa sometimes, dont get me wrong, he knows what goth is but sometimes he may ask some questions out of pure curiosity, like: "So... do u do rituals?" and stuff, basically thinking you are into witch craft (and he will be extra convinced if you are a Victorian goth)
✮⋆˙ Ok, when you two started dating he would be ALL OVER YOU, complimenting your outfit, makeup, hair and whatever you have on, he's just head over heels on your subculture, he finds it so pretty.
✮⋆˙ I think he would be a bit flabbergasted when he first saw you without your goth makeup and fit, like he would find it a little strange when you are just wearing non-goth comfy clothes, because he got too used to you with your goth fits.
✮⋆˙ Teach him about gothic music, dances and etc and he will be 100% invested, like he would just be kicking his feet like a teenage girl while you ramble about the goth culture and its story, he really likes it.
✮⋆˙ Would probably secretly try to listen to your favorite bands, just so he could talk about them to you and he would probably like it tbh, i can see him liking those type of music tbh.
✮⋆˙ Offer him a makeover and he will just accept, say no less, like you could just text him about the makeover, he could be on the other side of the world and he would just pop into your house and be like "lets go." (OMG GOTH SMG3 AKJEKWNEKSJDJRB)
✮⋆˙ One time he tried doing his own goth makeup to surprise you but it looked like he melt grease on his face and a bird shitted all over his face, it looked pretty funny but you found it very sweet.
✮⋆˙ If someone say something about your way to dress he would either just let you stand up for yourself or he would just straight up bully the person saying that they are just mad you are way cooler and prettier than them and that they wish to be so talented like you to do your makeup.
✮⋆˙ If you are or get a bit insecure to go dressed in goth in public, he would reassure you are pretty no matter what you are wearing, that you look stunning in black/red and any other color and that if someone dared to open their mouth about you he would kick their ass for you.
✮⋆˙ He just loves you no matter what <3
✮⋆˙ "Yo, look at my partner, arent they cool?"

Why Dubstep Drums Make FE3H Great
So, I wanna use this blog for something, and I figured what better than to yap about music, specifically video game music, which is about the only thing I'm passionate about these days. For this post I wanna talk about a game that is relevant right now, as it just had its 5th anniversary, Fire Emblem Three Houses.
MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING ahead
There are a million different things I could talk about such as the liberal use of motifs or the rain/thunder mixes, but I wanted to zero in on something I don't see too many people talk about, and that is the strange instrumention in the soundtrack, particularly the use of electronic instruments.
So, FE3H, as a medieval fantasy (sorta) style game, you'd expect the soundtrack to reflect that, and it definitely does with its heavy string usage and marching drums to represent the whole strategic army battle thing they got going on. This piece is a very good example of this:
youtube
But hold on a sec, what the hell is that at the 1:17 mark? Dubstep drums? And not just in this track, many of the pieces in this game feature similar drums and/or electronic synth sounds which would be very out of place in a traditional medieval fantasy soundtrack, and indeed this is an instrumentational quirk not found in any previous Fire Emblem game (to my knowledge, at least). Here are a few other examples from the OST which utilize electronic instruments:
youtube
This track doesn't so much use "dubstep" drums, but the drums are most certainly electronic, bordering on breakcore at times. Definitely more subtle though.
youtube
Once again, this one is more subtle, but note the drums again, most definitely electronic. Notable due to this not being a battle theme, but instead the main hub theme (pre-timeskip aka when everything was happy, more or less)
youtube
Okay, this one isn't subtle at all, it slaps you in the face with growling synths and hard hitting drums right from the get go.
Now, you're probably wondering why the composers decided to use these electronic instruments, especially considering how subtle their usage can be in some songs. Was it purely a stylistic choice? Not exactly.
Note the last song in the examples I provided - it is the main theme of the game, and is a song sung from Edelgard's perspective. Now, what group does Edelgard have ties to that completely flies in the face of the "medieval fantasy" theme that we established?
That's right, it's Those Who Slither In The Dark, or TWSITD because I'm not typing that out every time.
TWSITD formed from the remnants of the Argarthans, and utilize their highly advanced technology. We're talking missiles here, stuff that would be insanely out of place in any setting such as Fire Emblem, and it is! Throughout the game, Edelgard is quietly working with them in the shadows for her own gains, and the specifics of that aren't really important. However, have you caught on yet? The soundtrack represents TWSITD using these electronic instruments, quietly hiding in the music, subtle but in control. The fact that the drums are more often than not the electronic instrument of choice feels relevant, as drums are arguably the backbone of music (no bias. drummer here), and so using those to represent TWSITD further shows how they're manipulating events behind the scenes. So let's go back to The Edge of Dawn, a piece closely tied to Edelgard that bombards you with heavy synths and drums - it does this to show how connected she is to TWSITD, but cleverly this connection means absolutely nothing unless you know what the group is in the first place!
The connection between TWSITD and electronic music isn't just speculation on my part either - the soundtrack outright screams it at you with a few pieces. First, let's take a look at Those Who Sow Darkness:
youtube
Right off the bat it's obvious this piece is an entirely different vibe to the rest of the soundtrack. It is entirely electronic, and also just has a much more sinister vibe to anything else I've shown. This is a track used in cutscenes heavily featuring TWSITD. Keep note of that melody by the way, it'll be relevant later :)
Next, we have this:
youtube
So, this one isn't exclusively used for TWSITD but it's closely tied to Hubert who is in turn closely tied to Edelgard so I'm counting it (its other usages are in the same vein as that one sidequest in Xenoblade that uses A Tragic Decision which is also probably the funniest thing in that game but we're not here to gush about Xenoblade or else I'd be here all day). Note the more subtle but still very obvious electronic....noises, as well as the bass. The piano takes the lead here as Hubert isn't exactly open about working with TWSITD but his close ties with them manifest as little electronic flourishes and notably the bass, a important and grounding part of any musical piece.
Okay, enough stalling. On the Verdant Wind route, the only route where you really directly confront TWSITD, you will eventually arrive at their base of operations, Shambhala. And uh, I'll just let this one speak for itself:
youtube
Same melody as before, just a tad more intense. Fitting that in the belly of the beast they ramp up the dubstep to 11.
I do also wanna mention the battle theme used for the stage directly after this, after TWSITD are taken care of. Nemesis, an old historical figure, has been revived, along with his 10 Elites that fought alongside him in the war against Seiros long ago. As TWSITD have been defeated, and since Nemesis is from the past, it is only fitting that the battle theme for this chapter, which is also the final chapter of this route, features no electronic instruments whatsoever. A stark contrast to the piece before it, but very fitting in the story. It's also incredible in general:
youtube
So yeah, that is my ramble on the electronic influence in Three Houses and why the funny dubstep track is actually fairly relevant to the theming of TWSITD and the game as a whole. I'm not an expert on VGM nor on FE3H by any means, this is just a silly little thing I noticed that I wanted to yap a bit about. Also, this is my first longwinded post on Tumblr, so if you have any feedback feel free to let me know, and don't be afraid to DM me if you wanna talk about video game music (especially Xenoblade Chronicles X, don't worry I'll get to you soon my baby)
Look out for more posts like this in the future, yapping about VGM is my calling

Sometimes I wonder why I’m drawn to cyberpunk media… and then I realize:
My day job is sitting in front of multiple monitors, hyped up on stimulants, working 8* hours while i zone out to breakcore and write code. A good chunk of my free time is dedicated to repairing and working on the old computers I have, trying to make them keep up with the ever-advancing tech I can’t afford. I take pills that fundamentally modify my body. Machines constantly monitor my movements and behaviors. There are people I love that I know only because of the animated hunk of metal in my pocket.
i think in a lot of ways, cyberpunk / sci fi capture the absurdity of my day to day. It’s an exaggeration of the fatigue, ecstasy, and nihilism of modern tech.
But also like. We’re not just that. I draw, go to the beach, leave my phone in the car. There’s pockets of nature in this weird hellscape of a city. I talk to people, I love those people. I go to the forest when I can. I have to get out of it sometimes.
Nobody should live on a single axis of existence, yknow? Don’t sell your soul to one thing. Get out, feel the air. Go stare at some bugs. Meet some weird people. Take care of yourself 💜
#soph rambles#yes I did get 4 hours of sleep how can you tell#local woman thinks she can cheat the sleep demons#finds out The Horrors were waiting#anyway just some thoughts#I don’t talk abt my personal life here often#but I think a lot abt why some trans gals are so drawn to cyberpunk media#and I think the horror / ecstasy of body mod stories are a big draw#for me anyway#anyway ily#have a good day today 💙

HELLO
and if YOUUUUUUUUUUUU can believe it it's a saturday once again
BOY do i have a lot of stuff for you this week.
let's get right into it!
so first of all, i started working on this new track.
(the differences between these two are highly superficial, but i thought it would be good to post them both. early2 is the newer one.)
OKAY
OOOOOOOKAY
SO YOU MAY BE WONDERING
HOW THE FUCK
DID I MAKE SUCH A FUCKING BANGER
to be honest i have no fucking idea lmao
i think some of it has to do with the fact that i found the name of the genre i was trying to create
i was like "hm. so I want to make something like breakcore, cuz that's got a y2k-ish vibe. but breakcore is WAY too intense. so what is breakcore but less intense?"
DNB MUSIC
For those who don't know, DnB (Drum and bass) music is the predecessor to breakcore. I have know idea how well known this is, so I might look really stupid right now.
that's BESIDES THE POINT
using the power of the zero-g soundpack, the NiKUTRAX resource pack, and whatever else i could get my silly little hands on, i made this!
(quick side tangent: i swear to god if i get like. sued for using sample cds im literally gonna scream. THAT IS WHY THEY WERE MADE. THEY WERE MADE TO BE SAMPLED. LIKE WHAT)
so what else?
well, i found a new method of creating isometric sprites!
(you might've seen my reaction to this discovery on my twitter)
and it works!!!!! look at this desk. the computer
this is so fucking sick lmao
anyhoooooooooooooooooooooooooo
i'm fucking tired again
we've come to that bit of the screenshot saturday where i stop the Post
unfortunately i don't know if im gonna get that rikiyo sheet done before artfight
i'll probably be able to post the first page, but not the rest
maybe i'll do that idk
love you all
-Callie

(1-15 albums etc that I've listened to this year, copied from twitter) (now with art.) (media version) Jan [1] Feb [2] [3] Mar [4] [5] [6] Apr [7] [8] May [9] [10] [11] Jun [12] [13] [14] Jul [15] Aug [16] [17] [18] [19] Sep [20] [21] [22] Oct [23] [24] Nov [25] [26] Dec [27] [28]
names and thoughts below cut
1/ Ken Ishii - Flatspin (2000) this dude has a really lovely synth style that feels just right every time.
---
2/ (every Dream Wave Project release from 2001) golly, I don't like trance, especially from around the turn of the century! anyway I wonder if this y2k trance netlabel will have anything good. (<- clueless) somehow there were a few bangers tho. Link-D innerflux? top notch.
---
3/ DJ Technorch & 九十九音夢 – Strong Anthropic Principle (2016) holy shit tracks 1 and 3 immediately jumped into my fav of all time list EZ. the m1dy remix is ace too but wow tough competition.
---
4/ maj7jam - cover ring III (2023) wall to wall slappers. (I'm on here too!) its a variety thing so i cant rly summarize it but... big favs: "Dear Siren" "dissociate for frogs" "blank disquette" how did a remix of my tune turn into the funkiest thing here? hot damn
---
5/ かたぎり – かたぎりは電気狐の夢を見るか? (2021) feels like its been a while since ive chewed on some breakcore. this one's delicious. I love that rapidly changing textural stuff. "Code Name: Romeo" and "Stray Cat Syndrome". is there a name for that technique? good stuff
---
6/ Nav Katze - Never Mind The Distortion (1996) ive been thinking about checking out the original albums that afx's "26 mixes for cash" were pulled from. idk if i'll continue the trend, but this one was well worth the listen. lovely late-era bleep sound all around
---
7/ Paradigm Shift - Paradigm Shift (1995) from a rabbit hole of recommendations: "it's good i promise". and yep. it's GOOD. slightly chilled chemical breaks. considering the date and long-lasting freshness I'm kinda surprised this isn't more highly acclaimed.
---
8/ Faith Massive - Drum & Bass for the Masses (1998) more from the rabbit hole. I have a soft spot for mid-to-late 90s liquid dnb, and this hits that spot for me. the synths in "Downtreader" especially.
---
9/ Todd Edwards - Full On, Vol. 1 (2001) endless high quality chops. it's one of those styles that still sounds futuristic in a way.
---
10/ Orbital - The Altogether (2001) i wonder why i skipped this when i was digging through orbital's stuff. (listens) oh. because it doesn't click with me. [some of] the remixes on the associated singles are a bit better tho.
---
11/ DJ Krush - Reload (The Remix Collection) (2001) kinda a mixed bag, which is to be expected for a collection (of remixes) "Maiden Voyage" hits just right tho
---
12/ Capitol K - Notes From Life On The Wire With A Wrecking Ball (2008) i love Capitol K's soundscapes but I'm very particular about vocals. these vocals DO NOT vibe with me :( there are a few instrumental tracks, luckily for me
---
13/ Wevie Stonder - Drawing On Other People's Heads (2001) feels like a turntablism thing but... drum machine? akai? idk. a little different. i do kinda think the vocal samples are excessive, but not enough to throw out the entire album yknow?
---
14/ Hol Bauman - Human (2008) surprisingly haunting.
--- February ---
15/ VA - We Are Friends, Vol. 11 (2023) this year, im planning to [try 2] keep up with new releases from artists/labels i like. this is the first one that really hit me tho. which is cool bc mau5trap is... usually so-so imo. highlights: "Another Day", "I Like Math", "11:11"

8, 12, 20? for the queer asks
8. Describe your gender without using any words traditionally related to gender:
angelic!
12. Name some queer artists/bands or songs you like most:
The Scary Jokes (Liz is nonbinary, and lots of the music is about queerness- in particular, a lot of songs are explicitly about lesbian relationships)
Devi McCallion [AKA Black Squares, known for performing in Black Dresses, also known as Girls Rituals, Mom, Cats Millionaire, EAT BABIES?, Anarchy99, and a few other aliases] (Devi is a trans woman, and a lot of her music is about transness and queer relationships)
Lauren Bousfield [AKA: Nero's Day at Disneyland] (Lauren is a trans breakcore/noise artist)
I also enjoy Glass Beach, Sir Chloe, Mitski, Rio Romeo, 100gecs, and a lot of smaller indie stuff, but those seemed like the big ones for me :o)!!
20. Do you feel like you "fit in" with the queer/Pride community overall?
I love it here, but i do occasionally feel a little. "Controversial". There are some inherent differences to the way i feel about my gender, body, and sexuality because i am intersex, and i cannot be defined the same way perisex queer people can. This has been... frustrating, because a lot of people really want straightforward answers about my body and identity, and that isn't possible for me. I just exist a very different way from most. I think a lot of the new terms people try to use to define things are too exclusionary, and end up creating boxes i will never properly fit into.
I also identify with a lot of Bad Words, and i'm strongly connected to the kink part of the community. This upsets people, sometimes.
But all in all, i am happy with myself, and i am so very lucky to know all the wonderful people i know in the community. <3

Your Postal Dude matchups are so cute. I was wondering if you could do one for me? I'm a 5'9 chubby trans man with curly/frizzy mid-length hair, green-blue eyes, and freckles. I'm very versatile in my fashion choices but tend to go for a masculine midwest emo/grunge look (band tee, baggy jeans, zip-up jacket, chuck taylors or combat boots) Dogs are a big part of my identity to the point that I am a dog - collars, ears, tail, whole shebang. My converse and boots have paws drawn on them<3 I'm very punk in my ideals and live by "do whatever you want forever." I have NPD, BPD, autism, and ADHD - alongside chronic pain. I smoke weed to help with several of the symptoms of those, but also sometimes just to get fucked up lmao. I have a lot of issues with anger, impulse, and extreme guilt. Also pretty bad about shutting down; when I shut down, talking feels like swallowing razors and I just disappear mentally. It usually happens after I've been scolded (or, something happened that I perceived as scolding) I listen to a lot of different music, lately I've been really into Breakcore and Slipknot. Deftones was number one on my spotify wrapped this year - Radiohead and Mitski were also up there. I believe I'm an ENTP? I'm also a Mage of Heart if you know anything about Homestuck. I'm excited to see who I get <3
Thank you so much! Side Note: your paw print shoes sound really cute!
I pair you with…
Postal 3 Dude
I think goo-goo eyes over here could learn a thing or two about good music taste. DO NOT GIVE DUDE THE AUX CORD. He would likely vibe with all that you enjoy listening to. His favorite Deftones song is Swerve City
Those are some nice ears you got there! Champ seems to be extra friendly on you since he saw them. Dude would likely buy all sorts of new collars for you to amp up your wardrobe. Spiked, lace ones, one with a bell, all that.
He will help you get the weed you need. But says that he needs to tax some of your stash to get fucked up himself since he helped you. You can both melt on the couch together away from stress and pain.
Dude very much lives by your mantra! As he always says, “I regret nothing!” He couldn’t be any happier to find someone who understands this. Looks like you two can get yourselves into some fun trouble together.
Would try to sneak you in the background of whatever job he’s gotta do in Catharsis. He gets pretty clingy and would want you to be there.
I’m sorry to tell you that he will enable impulsive behavior. But the amount of times I write this in a matchup request is just a general warning label about who you’re dealing with here
He’s not gonna judge you generally speaking. This Dude is chill. You can be yourself unfiltered with a supportive boyfriend who cares about you. If anyone else wants to make it a problem, he’ll deliver them some “holy words”; from God’s throne to their ass. (He’s gonna beat them to a bloody pulp)
If you start to shut down, he’ll have to improvise on how to diffuse the environment around you. His top method is getting everyone else to fuck off, even at the sacrifice of public indecency. Once that chore’s taken care of, he’ll have to help you self soothe. At the very least, he’ll bring you into a hug with open arms.

cannon tunes
i liked a lotta music honestly. kind of a guilty pleasure cause it "messed with my image" or whatever.
my favourite kinds of music was this probably the two planets that i cant remember the names of for the life of me.
the first one was rocky and had only a few settlements, little industrial cities. the music fearured a lot of metalic, almost machine-like sounds. lots of crashing and drums. i think its probably kinda comparable to earth's "breakcore" or "industrial" genres? those are the closest matches.
the other was a core world. the music was very... lots of strings, but in a more rough, gritty way than a "twangy". usually the music had a lot of political themes. kinda ironic, that i liked music openly dennouncing me lmao. its okay, i hated what i became too. i think it might be like "grunge"? i heard a nirvanna song recently, that was pretty similar.
i remember armitage liked some of the second type of music, though i usually played less politically charged ones for him. he also liked slower songs, with more vocals. idk how to classify it. im not great at words.
phasma also liked the second type, and she didnt mind the political shit. she liked guitars and hard strings. and those like... steel bowls youd bang.
i wonder what thw others liked? if you guys are here, im curious. also sorry for being a dick.

Bring Me The Horizon - Post Human: Next Gen
Hey, Bring Me The Horizon finally dropped their new album, Post Human: Next Gen! This was a very welcomed surprise, as the band recently said that they weren’t sure when they’d drop it, as they were putting the finishing touches on it. They announced its arrival literally this past Thursday, along with the track listing, but it’s been out for the last few days. Before we dive into it, we need to take a step back and look at who this band is and how they got to this point. Bring Me The Horizon is a metalcore band that started off as a deathcore band in the early 00s, but their sound has changed a lot since then. They went from being a scenecore band in the late 00s and early 2010s to slowly becoming an alt-metal and pop-metal band in the late 2010s to becoming an amalgamation of everything they’ve done and incorporating new influences by their latest album, 2020’s Post Human: Survival Horror.
Survival Horror incorporated a lot of ideas, including metalcore, alt-metal, nu-metal, hyperpop, and breakcore, among other sounds. Next Gen expands on that and goes deeper into that hyperpop sound. They released a bunch of singles for it, all of which have gotten mixed reactions, but most of the people who despise these songs (and this band overall) are grumpy metal elitists that don’t like change or don’t like anything that isn’t “real metal.” It’s worth noting that BMTH went from one of the most hated bands of the 00s to one of the biggest, and they did that because they changed their sound and grew. Next Gen is the culmination of that, and this album is a huge deal, because this album has been the last four years in the making, and people have anxiously been awaiting this thing since then.
I wish I could say that I really love this album, and this album is an instant classic that changes the landscape of heavy music, but only one of those things is true. I wouldn’t say I truly love this record, or that it’s an instant classic, but this is an album that changes the game, and that has a very unique sound. I have some mixed reactions to this, although in terms of unique albums, I’d say that this album is better than the new Capstan album that dropped the same day. I reviewed that, too, and I didn’t like it much. Despite being so unique, that record had a messy sound that didn’t know what it was doing, let alone tried stuff that just didn’t sound good. I could respect the vision, but that vision just wasn’t for me.
This album, however, is more interesting, and it has a better sound, especially since it flows a lot better than Capstan’s new album did. Next Gen kind of runs the gamut between pop-metal, alt-metal, nu-metal, metalcore, and hyperpop, among other things, but it does so in a way that doesn’t feel jarring. In a lot of songs, they’ll start off one way and completely change in the middle, or add something unique somewhere in it, so the album keeps you on your toes a bit. A lot of the songs here do sound relatively similar, though, as they go down the same rabbit holes, versus throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks, yet it doesn’t get boring or generic. They execute these sounds well, too, especially vocalist Oliver Sykes. He’s only gotten better with time, as his singing and screaming voices are wonderful, and he is the glue that holds this album together.
It can get a bit overwhelming at times, just from how much is being thrown at you at once, but there isn’t as much whiplash because they keep it in the same few sounds, although I think this album has a bit of a commentary on how audibly and visually stimulated people need to constantly be. I say that because there are some interludes and moments that allude to that, including a half baked concept of an AI avatar, but they’re don’t quite do anything with that, and the interludes don’t add anything to the album of value.
That’s where my issues with this album begin, but my issues with this album go hand in hand, namely that this album is also way too long. The interludes don’t add anything to the entire experience, but the album is also a whopping 55 minutes long. That’s a long time for any album, but for an album with a unique sound that throws a lot at you, that’s a lot. Maybe this album could have benefitted from cutting a few songs, but there’s nothing on here I outright dislike. There are some highlights, and the album has peaks and valleys, if anything at all. “Kool-Aid,” “Lost,” “Amen,” “Youtopia,” and a handful of others are wonderful, but this album could have cut a few songs and it would benefited from being a bit shorter.
Next Gen is still quite a lot of fun, but it’s a bit too long for its own good, especially when a lot of songs sound pretty similar, despite being unique in their own right. This record is really what the future of heavy music is, as this album takes more elements of pop, and truly embraces it, instead of shunning it and trying to relive the glory days. It does have some nostalgic sounds, including stuff from the early 00s, but it also feels new and fresh at the same time. If you’re open to hearing new and unique albums, especially something rather forward thinking, I’d give this a listen. I don’t know if it’s an album of the year contender for me, but I do really enjoy this album.

i say this with kindness as a call in and a white person with my own inner stuff i had to sort through bc i thought i was fine and nice - it’s not so much your comment on rap, but that you have wonderful exceptions for one genre, but not rock/metal, again assuming these genres are broader/cleaner and we all know better artists but for rap it’s So Much Harder. you may not have said anything mean, but the subconscious belief that rap is more single note than metal IS biased. the subconscious belief that it’s easier to find clean metal IS biased.
yea i get that, sorry about that. i just honestly don't know a lot about mainstream stuff in general since I'm so used to avoiding it in favor of the more obscure fantastical stuff. And it's hard both because the kinda yucky stuff is always what i see advertised, and because i just tend to avoid the entire scene because it's not what I'm used to. I got into Mori and DEMONDICE because i got into electro swing, which i got into because of Kawaii EDM, which I got into because I often liked the background music of pop songs but not the lyrics. Brothers of Metal and Paddy And The Rats were introduced to me as my very first experiences with metal because of my dad, and I never got to listen to any mainstream metal or much rock at all. And I never listened to any mainstream rap because the mainstream rap i was exposed to either had weird lyrics I was too young to be hearing, or just sounded really bad imo. My favorite genres have always been pirate/viking/dwarf heavy metal, electro-ish swing, J pop, J heavy metal, and breakcore. I like the stuff that would the rupture the ears of any normal person, and I stick really strongly to that because I'm scared to listen to anything else.
I'm honestly just biased against "mainstream" things in general- hell, i was scared to watch Hazbin Hotel, TADC, and Murder Drones at first because i was thinking like holy shit these things are so popular i wouldn't like them at all, cuz I'm just so used to being "that person" who only likes the "shitty stuff" that "nobody likes except weirdos". those three shows ended up being my three favorites, though.
and because of that, I just don't know jack shit about the mainstream stuff. I don't really know jack shit about rap or pop or normal rock or popular metal or anything like that, I'm the mofo who blasts Femtanyl songs at max volume in the middle of class and has done hours of research dissecting the meaning of all of Femtanyl's songs and knows all their lyrics by heart, meanwhile the only things I know about rap are that some of Drake's songs make for banger breakcore remixes and apparently Kendrick is mad at Drake and is dissing him with what people say is objectively better music. All I know about the rap stuff is what other people tell me, and also that my mom's taste in rap is ✨garbage✨ and she doesn't know what's appropriate or not appropriate in terms of music for a 7 year old, because she had my 7 yr old ass listening to songs that literally described sex and gang violence and drug abuse in the most vivid ways possible. (meanwhile she says SpongeBob is too inappropriate for current me, aka a 16 yr old Chainsaw Man fan. like- HUH??? WHAT??)
srry if i derailed a bit, but yea- i realize i fucked up a bit. also i have once again showed myself just how fucking stupid i am when it comes to gauging tone because jesus fuckin christ i feel dumb as ✨shit✨ now that i realize that was sarcasm

yesterday at work i was fantasizing about suicide.. i guess it's a pretty common escape when i'm feeling like i don't belong here - not at work, necessarily, but here on this planet. i don't know what triggered it specifically but i know that this time, someone sweet and childlike spoke up inside of me, said "you want me to kill myself?" so clearly into my tired, trembling mind and i wanted to cry but i couldn't because i was at work and so the tears welled then subsided, and the sour mood returned and filled my head with self hatred as if she'd never even spoken.. but she had.
i would never treat another person the way i treat myself, of course. i know all of these self destructive narratives are ruining every opportunity i have at connection, keeping me sick and paranoid and isolated, even as my home is striving for a place of community and acceptance.
libby was in my dream.. libby who lost her mind willingly, who made a fool of herself in hatred and who i don't think anyone really enjoys talking to. i don't know how she reconciles, i don't know how to interact with her - she is living my biggest fear. she is both a people-pleaser and malicious. i've never hurt her feelings, to my knowledge. but our conversation feels empty.
the chocolate smoothie i am drinking is delicious and i feel cold. the breakcore i'm listening to is liquid smooth and i feel inadequate.
yesterday i watched another one of those astrology tarot videos even though i had once again swore off of them, and i knew this one was going to hurt and it did. i want to return to the fantasies of my child mind, of lights and dancing and trees (in this city of arid plains, this city so ugly) and cats with wings and things like that, leave fantasies of self-mutilation and rejection behind. nothing will prepare me for death or heartbreak - that's the essence of these things.
i wonder if, like the video said, i've crossed the line and fulfilled the self-prophecy of "too good to be true", of "i don't deserve this", and when i finally see the object of my affection, if he will say it's too stressful, i'm too self-hating.. or whatever. i wonder if i can break it now, break through this inner violence and accept whatever is behind it, for the sake of my heart and joy and love.

Share a weird fact/story about yourself with the class. I have had a couple of dreams that don't make sense but not in the usual way, I do not remember their order. One was a red symbol unrememberable but I do remember being fully aware of my body, time going at the normal rate for hours and being too weak to go to school afterwards. The second was a day dream, I was in an endless expanse of mist and people all sat down on the floor, above was a massive cloaked figure taking up the sky, for whatever reason I stood up and showed it the middle finger in defiance, it then breathed out a thick mist that left me writhing in real life, afterwards I drank. And the third one is the one I have the most headache over, to sum up this longer(in term of how many things happen) a girl who is seeming abused by her parents tries to get help from me, now the actual shape of her parents is what gives me a headache because no matter how hard I think a clear picture never comes, I know for a fact I know what those abominations looked like those things that filled the sky but the closer I get to remembering their form the pain just gets worse and worse. Now I look at this it feels cringe.

Dream career as a child? Didn't have one, as a child I didn't understand why anyone wouldn't just share with people since it's the nice thing to do
Dream career as an adult? Not a lot has changed, I hate the idea of currency, so many horrible things done because it makes money, so many wonderful things not done because you don't make money from feeding people you make it from them buying it, I wish I could help people and am overwhelmed by how many need help

Would you pet a bug? If it's big enough, it is pettable.
Share a weird fact/story about yourself with the class. I like to drive around rural areas and photograph old, sometimes abandoned locations in the dead of night. I have been literally chased out of towns by foot and by car on two separate occasions. The second time this happened, "See You Again" by Miley Cyrus came up on shuffle and that's the soundtrack my friend and I tore out of town to. Also every "guy" I've dated except for my most recent ex (who has big egg energy) is a lesbian now.
What does the color blue taste like? Creme brulee
What is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? The appalachian mountains of Tennessee in the middle of summer. There's kudzu everywhere. On the backroads, there were several old, dilapidated Baptist churches barely hanging to the side of the mountain. I wonder how many of them were still in use.
What is the stupidest thing you've ever done? Short version: my friend's house almost got broken into by this dude who'd been stalking us for months while we were home alone. Instead of calling the cops, we decided to confront him with a bow and arrow (me), a hatchet, and a baseball bat (him). The plan was that if it went badly, we would simply throw his corpse into one of the many lakes in the neighborhood and let the alligators eat his remains (this was Florida). Why? Because we were afraid of having our home-alone privileges revoked. Luckily for us all, the guy fucked off and we never saw him again.
Stupidest thing you've seen/heard someone else do/say? My ex thought that Jackalopes were real. Also, a nurse I was doing rotations with apparently thought that "Witness Protection" was for Jehovah's Witnesses.
Hyperfixation song? Young Enough + Bleach by Charly Bliss
Is there any meaning behind your profile picture and/or username? Profile pic; I'm transmasc and I'm currently obsessed with TriStamp. Username; It was my fake internet name when I was like 13. I won't change it because I want my mutuals to recognize me, and because I do have a viral post associated with this name.
Dream career as a child? Doctor (funnily enough I'm now in nursing school)
Dream career as an adult? Professional Jester. Not a comedian. I just want to be some weird little guy who dresses silly and you can hire me to roast your boss at work parties.
Thoughts on cilantro? Delicious
Have you ever been banned from a location and if so, why? I honestly can't remember? Probably... but in recent memory I've mainly banned people from places.
What is your cursed food combination? Pineapple on a hotdog with grilled onions. It Slaps.
Trans rights? TRANS RIGHTS
