This ask is really for you and angela both - what would’ve happened if nettle was conceived much earlier in the timeline, say during the basement era? How does having a biological kid together change the family dynamics, if at all? Does it make everything ten times worse or does it speedrun them into the contract era earlier? How does having a sibling alter briar’s experience of growing up? and most importantly are the kids able to unionize

oh what a lovely scenario. This would inflict such psychic damage on everyone involved.

There’s another question implicit here, which is, do they keep it. Sam, despite the various and sundry violations to Dream’s autonomy he commits on a daily basis, would not force Dream to terminate the pregnancy, nor to keep it if Dream insisted he didn’t want it. He’s pro-choice, he’s a liberal, #Trust. No matter what, though, they’re both torn. Sam loves the idea of this child of his already, even though he truly can’t handle the idea that it’s also Dream’s. Dream doesn’t, but he does like the idea of something to hold over Sam: nine months of good treatment, for a start, and possibly future concessions to be extracted. He’s also afraid of giving Sam even more leverage. And of course, this would mean the cat’s out of the bag to Briar. Absolutely no one wants that!

Mostly, though, neither Sam nor Dream is anywhere NEAR ready to face the Ramifications of their, erm, “relationship” being anything other than an extension of prison sex—it’s a dirty secret, something that only exists after dark and without acknowledgment. Sam thinks of it as a shameful indulgence. Dream thinks of it as a twisted way to exercise power. They both think of it as a grimy concession to the reality of two lonely people stuck with only each other.

But let’s say Dream keeps it, and Dream has Nettle, when Briar is ten or eleven or so. The basic components are similar. Sam loves Nettle, Dream loves her as his child and also kind of hates her as Sam’s. Sam loves Nettle and he loves Briar, and his love for them both is an acceptable form of loving Dream.

Sam would try to keep Nettle away from Dream as much as possible, minimizing his corrupting influence, and then realize that raising a newborn AND raising an extremely hostile eleven year old AND keeping a guy in your basement is very difficult as a single dad. He’d be sort of forced to give Dream more privileges… but he’d resent the hell out of Dream for it. Things are on a permanent knife’s edge. Briar’s resentment and sleep deprivation don’t help.

Briar would be very, VERY upset at both Dream and Sam. He’d feel supplanted and replaced and unable to understand why and how this has happened. Why is his mom sleeping with the enemy? When Dream sat him down to try to explain things, he said Sam didn’t force him into anything, but that’s so stupid when Dream isn’t even allowed to eat without Sam’s say-so! The lines of what Briar is supposed to hate Sam for and what he isn’t get so confusing so fast. He’s too young for this mess.

I think the kids don’t even have time to unionize because I think things fall apart rather quickly in this scenario. The helplessness of a newborn means that there’s more urgency from everybody. Sam wants to get her away from Dream; Dream wants to get her away from Sam; Briar wants to be anywhere but here. This is not a system at equilibrium. It’s radioactive, and it’s going to fly to pieces fast.

Have any of you guys ever been doodling when suddenly you’re hit by the angstiest idea ever and so you start workshopping that idea into an au as an alternate timeline to see if it would fit with the au only to create an absolutely heartbreaking and depression inducing scenario, only for your brain to decide that’s not enough and end up creating that same scenario in your two other main aus so that you end up with three deeply traumatized versions of the same character?

We have a post-Everything Goes To Shit arc Scythe, around January ‘24 Bloody, and a post-Second Takeover Harvest. You may notice I called them by their actual names and not by their usual [insert trait here]!BM names, and that’s on purpose.

See, due to various circumstances in each of their respective timelines, their twins died.

They’ve all taken it very harshly, but express it in different ways, Scythe is more reserved yet more ruthless in her anger, Bloody has become extremely disconnected from everything, and Harvest is an anxious wreck. All their reactions are directly correlated to their twins’ death and how they perceived it.

Anyways, yeah.

COVID AU where Art and Tashi are forced to quarantine when the city wide lockdowns prevent them from traveling. They find a motel that would let them rent the room for as long as they need to. Thankfully, Lily is with her grandma and they’re both safe.

I want forced proximity. I want Tashi going stir crazy not having anything to do. I want Art still attempting to keep in shape until one day he’s too lazy to workout or get up out of bed. I want Art and Tashi forced to actually talk about anything other than tennis.

COVID AU where Patrick gets trapped in the lockdown. He knows he can’t stay in his car forever so he goes to the nearest motel and uses his emergency credit card to rent a room.

One day, he decides to use the amenities. He knows the motel has a pool and he’s not surprised to see other guests already there. He knows he should stay 6 feet apart. Except he recognizes that blunt short bob and that mop of blonde curls.

Yeah, Patrick Zweig just casually quarantining with the Donaldsons. It’s definitely gonna turn out fine.

Thinking about a 6-part miniseries about Cas. The premise being that there's some way for him to get back the memories that were taken from him, and he's going through the process of re-experiencing them (and this is why we haven't seen him yet, because he's been occupied with this).

So we're following Cas through time, seeing every instance of him going off-script, and every time it gets harder and harder to reset him. And there could be 3 or 4 actors besides Misha who play Cas at various points in history. And there could be returning spn actors for different angels as well as recasts for different "versions" of them. There would be a chance to get into some complex relationships between sibling-soldiers who are under a cult-like authority.

The way I'm imagining it, it would be "kalaidoscopic" to use Edlund's word for describing Cas' perspective. Non-linear narratives layering on top of each other, and making use of motifs and recurring elements in an almost dream-like way, building Cas' story as someone who fought to be his own person. The whole thing being kind of epic and fantastical and philosophical.

And of course it ends with Cas' reunion with Dean. I think in previous episodes there could be short little "missing scenes" situated within the main spn canon, to really re-establish Dean and Cas' relationship for any uninitiated viewers. But by the time it gets to the end, after following Cas' whole story, Dean is framed as the last instance in a long series of Cas' struggles to assert his own sense of right and wrong, his own sense of self. Dean is the time when it finally stuck. So there's a real narrative weight, within the 6 episodes, to them reuniting, it's not just for the sake of finishing what spn started.

And I'm still imagining the reunion scene being something like what I posted about here. Where Dean asks Cas to jailbreak Heaven with him, break the rules with him one more time, run away so they can live their own life. So that Dean is the realization of everything Cas' story has been driving towards.

And then the thing with Jack being taken over by God happens (see linked post). Because a) Cas can't just go off with Dean and leave Jack behind, so there has to be a reason for him to oppose what Jack's been doing in Heaven, and the answer to that is he's God instead of Jack. And b) the series ends on an open page, with Dean and Cas going back into the world as these twin agents of chaos and free will, and you have the sense that they're always going to be out there fighting for free will and fighting to be masters of their own lives, and the story will never end.

On one hand, I want a final fantasy 6 remake, because the game is criminally underrated and the amount of fan content (which is all absolutely fantastic btw) is Not Enough for my neurodivergent, hyperfixating brain.

On the other hand, that would inevitably encourage more people to join the fandom, which would be great, except it seems these days the bigger a fandom gets the more toxic it becomes, and I really like what we have going on over here in our little corner. We all just love the game and its characters and nobody fights about who should and shouldn't date who or who you shouldn't like because they're ~problematique~. Nobody's trying to make one ship morally better than another, nobody's calling anyone names or threatening to doxx people who don't agree with their opinions. It's so peaceful and I love that for us. We're just vibing. Moisturized. Unbothered. In our lane. Flourishing.

yaknow i kind of feel bad for carlos because even if i don't agree with his attitude, he's absolutely getting more hate than others would be if they were acting the same way precisely because his teammate is charles. like. anyone is going to look extra bad compared to a teammate who never says a bad thing about anyone ever in press and seems perpetually in love with ferrari and motivated to help the team as a whole and is also, you know, insanely talented.

in the grand scheme of ferrari, carlos comes out looking even worse because his interviews get followed up with charles's angelic "only complain privately" approach... against others it'd be like oh, racing drivers are just selfish like that, all teammates screw each other over from time to time but still care for the team it's fine, etc. etc., but the problem is that charles isn't selfish like that generally so it just looks extra rude to do it to him 😭

TAPOPS (Tracker and Protector of Power Spheras) is a group that is led and created by , dedicated to find and protect the that are scattered around the galaxy . 

And being a member of the station .

The name is Nut and I'm a engineer in the station who have duty to maintaining the station , spaceships and also assisting the power spheras to able stay in the station .  

As a non-fighter member I mostly backup to the members who go to the field that involve fighting combat and do researching on the planets !

Although, it will be a bit lonely on the station because it was rare that someone who can handle my passion on inventing new weapons and upgrade to their gears . 

......Well , I admit that sometime I went a bit over broad on that sometime. 

( For the record ,Nut have cause a few trouble for over doing on the tec that cause backfired ..... but also have the case that Nut's crazy idea worked and approve by the commander . )

He have help Fang to fix and maintain the perforation power mask before so Nut know Fang pretty well . He's a kid who have keep training hard to get his brother attention and achieve impressive skills . And captain Kaizo isn't someone that will use his title to let Fang to have that mission .

The cadet take the things and leave the lab , leaving Nut and the cadet who's still in there .

" Same . Well then , I have installed the power up system . Now I'll teach you how to active and shut it , because it can't use in a long period time ."

" Ha Ha !  Nut a problem ! So all you need to remember that- "

After that day , Captain Kaizo who have return the mission hand him the perforation power mask and order him to keep the mask in shape before he come back to the lab to reclaim it . 

Nut is surprise and worry about Fang once he receive the mask , the mask is the only assist tool and weapon that  Fang have used . Captain giving him the mask which mean that Kaizo let Fang wonder around the planet without any high tec that could protect himself .

Nut want to question the Captain but words stops at the throat as he receive a look from the captain .

He hear the cadet that have listened Nut explanation receive a promotion because they perform some excellent achievement on the field with their new tec .

Today the engineers get a order to repair the ship . According to the file ,Captain Kaizo when to earth to capture the criminal that have escape from the hospital . 

If Nut didn't recall wrong his name is probably called  " Ejo jo "  but that does not explain the big hole and the gunfire marks on the ship and the training ground's floor have destroy and scattered some unknown stone(And food ?) shards, probably relate to the opponent's power . Not mention the ship's barrier system also all destroyed .

Welp ! This will be a long day.

But to the bright side maybe he can put some new things in the ship or even made it better !  While Nut is brainstorming ideas what to do , a familiar voice come form behind .

" Nut . "

It's Kaizo .

" Oh- Yes Captain ? " 

" Repair this mask and keep it until I give further commands ."

Kaizo give Nut the broken mask to Nut .

Nut felt his panic start to arise .

Before Kaizo go to the earth he have reclaim the mask , Nut assume that Kaizo will give it back to Fang snice he probably will go to visit him who also at earth . 

But......why is the mask got broken in such state ? What happened to the owner of the mask ? 

Nut is hesitating on asking the Captain. 

" Fang is fine , he just decide stay on earth now . "

" Oh-"

" Do your job and inform me once the ship have finish repair . "

" Yes , Captain ! "

Nut watch Kaizo leaving the workshop  .

" Oh- Nut before you start- "

Kaizo stop his track and turn his face to Nut .

" If you want to install something that is not original on that ship , write a report to me first . After my approval then you can do whatever you want . "

Kaizo have leave the room .

Nut feel a bit sulk on he can't fully start his upgrade on the ship but he glad to heard Fang is doing good on the earth .

After all it's not pleasant to see the person who been using his tec before , leave the station without him knowing what happened to them .

Nut rubs his temples to ease the tiredness and pain, he haven't sleep probably for days . He have been remaking and amend the gear that will be suitable for them . It's not like he don't enjoy the fun during the process but he think he really should reconsider doing extra job that cost his beaty sleep .

Of course Nut agreed to help him , he seems like a person who can understand his passion and get along .

Which make Cahaya startle and slips the beaker fell on the ground- 

" And when the substance touch the floor it explode , created a pile of foam instant and Nut who was holding the ..... "gravity bomb" got trigger and sent you guys to the celling . "

This is an old topic, but one that will never die... unlike [REDACTED].

In the aftermath of og Lesson 16™, there's about a million ways things could go. Besides the lack of closure on the casually written and basically never mentioned again death, the more interesting part to me is the casually written and basically never mentioned again relationship to Lilith. I mean, yeah, it's probably the reason MC has more hidden power than Solomon, but the story doesn't ever focus on it. It's a plot device meant to tie the arc up neatly with a bow, not something we're supposed to dwell on... presumably because it can get potentially weird and uncomfortable if you do.

So naturally, imagining the possibilities and potential implications is one of my favorite things to do.

To that end, two of my favorite scenarios/plot bunnies/i-make-it-worse-before-i-fix-its that have spawned from this are (long blocks of text incoming):

MC (like me) either knew or had a very good idea they were related to Lilith by the time Barbatos and Diavolo showed up and spilled the beans... so they don't let them, for fear it would change their relationship with the brothers. At a subtle shake of the head, Diavolo understands and flips the story to "Barbatos has traced Lilith’s lineage all the way to the modern day, and discovered she has (at least) one surviving descendant." No names are named, Belphegor is convinced enough that his sister lead a happy life to let go of his grudge against humans, life should be good... except the brothers develop an obsession with finding Lilith’s descendant. Barbatos won't share any information for some reason, so they set to investigating themselves. And they NEVER stop talking about it. All the things they want to do with Lilith’s descendant, favorite places they want to go, things they want to show them... MC bites their tongue and smiles, saying they're sure Lilith’s descendant will love the new café. Privately, they're more certain than ever they made the right decision: without even having met Lilith’s descendant (or so they think), the brothers are acting as though their sister herself has come back from the dead, already making preparations based on her own likes and dislikes as if they're the same person. And more than that, isn't it rather hypocritical of the demons - who were acting so apathetic or even disdainful toward humans until just recently - to be putting one they've never met on a pedestal? Even Lucifer, who already knew Lilith survived, is thoroughly involved in the investigations now that his brothers are so invested. And then it slips, somehow, not that MC is Lilith’s descendant, but that MC has known who Lilith’s descendant was all this time they've been searching. All this time MC has been "helping" them search. And isn't that just a rock and a hard place.

MC is revealed to be Lilith’s descendant at the usual time and place. In the weeks that follow, however, between Belphegor’s cuddling up to them and the others' general merriment considering the death that just occurred, it starts to weigh on MC mentally that maybe they're so thrilled to have a piece of their sister back that nothing else matters to them. If only MC could do it all again... or could they? Sensing that things are not headed in a good direction right now, Barbatos agrees to send MC back in time again. But it's different this time: instead of having to avoid their past self, they are their past self, restarting the year as if everything up till now has just been a bad dream. It's a completely blank slate, with only MC's mind intact so they can avoid making the same mistakes. And it goes great... until MC learns that in this timeline, Barbatos is in jail, powers sealed, for messing with time without first consulting Diavolo. And moreover, for some reason, he refuses to share with the prince exactly what he did. So not only are any deaths permanent this time, but there's an ongoing investigation into conspiracies against the throne and student council during this crucial time of the exchange program. It's not long before both MC and the brothers discover - at the same time - that they already have pacts. Pacts that powerful demons have no recollection of making with an oddly knowledgeable human they barely know. And isn't that just a rock and a hard place.
