BAD DOG

I am a bad dog

I bite

I bite the hand that feeds me

Defy the hand that commands me

Like a bad dog, you can only pray I’ll change

Bloodied teeth shines just as much as

the guilt in my eyes

But I bite

With bloodied canines

Sharp like knives

I bare them

I bare them, snarling,

“I am not your pet”

Yet once more, snarling, I cry

“I am not your pet”

And I bite the hands that feed me

Scared of you hurting me

Terrified, I prowl

Petrified growls

But I am not wild

Despite that I bite

My bloodied canines

Sharp like knives

I bare them, snarling,
