they got fucking wormed half way through the game and became hard to look at so i changed their hair then they look half-decent (not as good looking as the default but still)

im gonna be sorta infodumping about their lore bc im insane for them

so in my canon Chevrotain isnt the dark urge like the origin character but another bhaalspawn, theyre still a bhaalspawn though so their gameplay is still a durge playthrough and this song is so accurate to durge's storyline?? like

the theme i like to go with them is "starvation", like being starved of fatherly love from Bhaal, being starved of their own identity, being starved of their own mind, being starved of a home.. so this song fits into it SO PERFECTLY

GAH this song is so cool from the coolest musical i know (i only know like 6 musicals 🙃), its literally a musical podcast?? so cool.

anyways Chevrotain is a bard right, they usually manipulate people with their words, a lot of deception and persuasion bonuses, so they are a very deceitful and as a result they are a very distrusting person.

the song is about a girl who was raised to be a compulsive liar - when she accidentally broke her dad's ship in a bottle - her mom told her to lie to get out of trouble and it worked, so she kept lying and lying and lying to get herself out of situations.

the song ends with a near death experience, but all she can think in her dying moments is how her parents are going to lie about her existence just to avoid the hassle of dealing with her death.

the thing about Chevrotain is that they cannot trust easily - and what they fear the most is that theyd be tricked the same way theyve been tricking others - its a constant for them and this song embodies it perfectly (･ω･)b

have i ever mentioned here that Chevrotain fell into the Feywild when they were around 9?

they were following a grinning cat named 'Alice Alice van Malice' who later became their guardian because fucking Ethel spotted baby Tain, took them in bc she realize that a bhaalspawn would make a strong hagspawn, since Alice didnt want to be responsible for a horrific fate of a child he decided to keep watch of them 😭

so this song is more to baby Tain's perspective, that they are now living in a stinky swamp in the Feywild and sleeping on a cold slab of stone instead of the cozy foster home they were in before..

Chevrotain's style is called classy and youthful in the DnD universe and timeline, but in todays world we call it grandmacore ❤

ok well it has a prince-like flare to it, the embroidery would be all silver bc one thing about Chevrotain is that theyre good at commiting to the bit, also the clothes beinf airy, flowy and puffy is important bc they dont like their clothes being skin tight bc they get uncomfortable easy.

its all billowy blouse + black pants combo bc its a classic and i love it SO MUCH, i eat this combo all the time everytime

10. What work was the quickest to write?

Definitely 'If these walls could talk'! This little monster was written, somewhat edited and posted in one afternoon (or the power of power naps in the library and boring classes afterwards lmao)

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Hmm, tough one honestly 🤔 (also I'm not sure if this means a thing that surprised me or one of my works that surprised me specifically so I'll answer both of these 😅)

I think one of the things that surprised me the most is how many people liked my fics. I'm definitely not the most talented writer in here, and yet I got so many nice comments all over my works and it has made me super happy 🥹

For one of my fics that surprised me, I think it has to be 'In the Eye of a Hurricane'. This fic was a delight to write, and also my first time dabbling in heavy angst, but I absolutely loved exploring Daniel’s character and all its facets and I'm definitely excited to add more to that verse some day!

1. Does your OC have a voice claim, if so who? - this is an interesting one because I have a hard time like, remembering voices/sounds/melodies and replicating them in my head. Even characters with canon deep voices, when I work out dialogue in my head it's essentially my voice with maybe a background echo of their voice behind it. I'm not sure any of my OC's actually have a voice claim… one of them physically is basically Richard Armitage in Robin Hood so I expect that's probably also his voice 😂 maybe ill look into that going forward. I have a sense of how they talk and their little idiosyncracies, just maybe not the voice itself.

 5. Do you ship your OC with a Canon character? If so who? - So I've actually got a lot of these but I'm just gonna pick one or two for right now. Maraschino flirts with everyone but funny enough he gets along pretty well with Welt when he joins the nameless after their Stellaron Disaster is averted, and finds himself developing a real honest to god crush on this old human two years his junior. Mint and Boothill got some potential bc I wanna see those two country boys make out Brokeback-style xD

 9. How does your OC handle their physical health? Do they take care of themselves? I just realised I could make a graph chart for this hold on, very crunchy for my brain. The doesn't take care/values themselves doesn't exactly parse well but like. I guess I mean it in a sense of, there's something in their life that isn't their physical body that they value more, like their work (Mango and Hux are devoted scientists)

 14. Who's a character your OC cannot stand! It's on sight when they see them! - Blue Rattler (of the Intergalactic Pony Express) has some beef with Boothill. He's gotten in her way once or twice, and the second time he messed up the wing on her shuttle with his gun-slingin' getaway. Boothill offered to get it fixed in exchange for info about Oswaldo Whatshisbutt but a good post worker sticks to customer privacy like glue. If they gave out customer information on a whim, who would trust their services? You're on your own, fella.

25. Are they the kind of person who can't resist a good song? Can I catch your OC singing to themselves while they do the dishes? Who's singing and cleaning? Penelope, definitely. Singing and dancing, practicing her steps while she's washing or dusting. Mint tends to whistle while he's tending to chores, Maraschino will sing on a whim but is highly resistant to doing dishes until the express crew helps teach him to make it fun (Stelle and March will pop in with bops on someone's phone to chill while he scrubs) Thorne won't sing but he'll lay a beat for his sister Rosie to sing over while they're both washing dishes. Peaches 100% is singing near constantly. Alma and Sterling sing to each other while they're cooking <3
