This may be my favorite friend group in any show I've ever seen. Period. The extended friend group is also incredible but these four are the core. It all begins with them. They're so loving and supportive and kind to one another. Watching them is pure comfort and joy. If you haven't seen SCOY, go. Run. It's worth it for them alone.

Believe me when I tell you I would lasso the moon for Uea and Jade. They're each other's rocks. They're each other's comfort. They bring each other so much love and sweetness that it makes me want to cry. These two were going to bat for each other long before King and Mai came along and they didn't stop even after they'd both entered into relationships. Their friendship means everything to me. EVERYTHING.

One of my very favorite things about the Cutie Pie cinematic universe is how much weight and importance is given to friendship. It's on par with the romance and sometimes even supersedes it. This is true especially for Kuea and Diao. These two take pride of place to each other over their husbands. They're ride or die for each other first before they're ride or die for their husbands.

My love for Kiseki is as boundless as the sea but the only thing I wish they'd given us more of is this friendship because it was fucking great. I love when a feral boi adopts a gentle boi and becomes his protector the way Ai Di did for Zong Yi, in prison and beyond. They always gave each other an ear, a shoulder, advice, comfort, whatever the other one needed. We deserved more of them.

Lom and Yiwa in Wedding Plan

Hey, with your Naughty Babe posts I was wondering if you have opinions on if the subs/translations are affecting the understandability of the plot for non-Thai speakers. It seems to me like the IQIYI subs are not great compared to Youtube, which is unfortunate because that’s where most people are watching. I’ve mostly been watching with the IQIYI subs and filling in holes with the novel plot, which works well enough for me. -diaospuppy (since we still can’t ask from sideblogs yet)

I have a feeling my reply is gonna be lengthy so let's put a TL;DR here: Oh, most definitely!

Let me preface this: 1) I don't have access to iQIYI so I could only cross-check with 3rd party re-uploads that I assume come from iQIYI, subs and all?? 2) The subs on Youtube aren't perfect either but they're definitely good, considering translation can't be 1:1. 3) I'm not a native speaker, so I wouldn't be able to catch every single word reliably anyway, but knowing Thai for sure gives me more insight which is why I've been sharing a lot of what I hear and read on the show!

That said- I just scrolled through the Naughty Babe The Series tag for a bit and- yeahhh. It sure looks like people are struggling with the plot. 😅 This feels like Cutie Pie all over again. Why is the language barrier suddenly a 10ft. wall with these shows? Just how bad are iQIYI subs...

I'm gonna do the homework for everyone and use this opportunity to rewatch important scenes, compile the chess pieces, and clear up any weird subs I encounter along the way.

Let's go!

The tiger incident is the root of both Diao and Yi's issues AND of the debt that the Chens (Yi's family) took on to repay the Wongteerawits (Diao's family).

Yi's father Makorn took full responsibility for his son's mistake and has since been investing everything he can offer to make up for it: He's basically raised Yi to take care of Diao (hence why it's basically an arranged marriage), he dotes on Diao more than his own son, and he basically pays for everything the Wongteerawits ask for!

1) ตัวประกัน /dtua bpra gan/ is someone kept for bargaining purposes/insurance, so literally a hostage yeh 2) Diao's stepmom, on the phone with Sathaporn: "Having Kondiao as collateral/insurance doesn't help at all!"

The worst offender is Diao's uncle Sathaporn (and here we've got a case of both YT and iQIYI fucking up the subs):

The entire Wongteerawit family was witness to Yi's father Makorn gifting Diao the red BMW that Yi has the accident in. From left to right: Diao's stepmother Orn, his younger (half? step?-)siblings Tam and Tem, and his uncle Sathaporn.

Sathaporn is Diao's father Sattha's younger brother and he's been having an affair with his brother's wife Orn. They've been manipulating Sattha for years. Their aim now is to re-negotiate, for Yi and Diao's marriage contract, and what they want is- Oh, just, you know, everything-

The other schemester is Tem, Diao's younger (half?? step??-)brother.

Tem เทม, the brother, or Tam แทม, the sister? It's Tem เทม, the brother, as the YT subs on the left correctly state.

He's been sneaking around:

He acts according to his uncle Sathaporn's instructions - for the most part. Either he's just as stupid as the uncle and stepmom make Diao's father out to be oR mAyBe he's just a kid in over his head! 🥴 From what I understand, Tem's the one who messed with the BMW. With what intended outcome, I'm not sure (Kondiao would inherit half his father's land and all his possessions so killing him would guarantee Tem the Wongteerawit inheritance, at least?), and if he did it on the uncle's authority or not, I'm not entirely sure either.

Re: the BMW - wow, are the subs bad on iQIYI! Left YT, right iQIYI:

เรียน /riian/ = to learn VS. some genius: เหลียน Lian 💀

As for the engagement contract, the conditions are: - if they don't marry, - if either of them cheats, - if they marry but break up within 5 years the family to violate the contract has to compensate the other family. - If the Chens are at fault, they have to pay the Wongteerawits for the race track, - If the Wongteerawits are at fault, the Chens get full ownership of the race track.

In conclusion, it's all about the race track. The land is owned in part by the Wongteerawits, who had Makorn buy it for them, and in part by the Chens. Sathaporn currently has the documents to the Wongteerawits' title deed and he made sure to influence his brother to either leverage more out of the engagement contract or make sure to get the race track once they re-negotiate for Yi and Diao's marriage contract:

Yi and Diao thus are planning to make this entire situation end by ruining their own wedding - to the Chens' favor.

More bad subs, YT left vs. iQIYI right:

1) การใช้ชีวิตคู่ ไอ้อี้ /gaan chai chee wit kuu, ai Yi, [...]/ = Married life, Yi, [...] VS. some genius: การใช้ชีวิตกู(???) ไอ้อี้ /gaan chai chee wit guu, ai Yi, [...]/ = Living my life, ai Yi, [...] 2+3) No words, I don't know why they gave up on เป็นฝั่งเป็นฝา /bpen fang bpen fah/ = married, settled down

There's more bad subs in this scene but they're not plot-relevant so- Back to their plan! Yi feigns ignorance even in front of his dad because they need to make sure everyone believes it when Diao crashes the wedding. The only ones in the know are Kuea and Lian and they're separately involved via their respective best friends (hence the betting in ep. 6 lol).

YT subs know what's up, iQIYI subs are a lil confused it seems 🥴

Sidenote: Do iQIYI subs routinely skip over honorifics? Because YT usually makes sure to include them, at least when they're not strictly used as pronouns, for example:

คับบบเฮีย /khaaap hia/ = polite male ending particle which, if used by itself, denotes agreement + see the explanation for Hia here, I'm too lazy lol

The subs in this scene are especially meh, huh?? YT left, iQIYI right:

ฤกษ์โคตรเหมาะเลย /reerk khoht maw loey/ = what YT said basically, except more like- The auspicious date is damn fitting. VS. some genius: เลิก /leerk/ = stop ? โชค /chohk/ = luck(y) ?? ขมอง /kha maawng/ = thought, intellect ??? 🤨

I've already noticed disparities in ep. 6 and even though it's mostly smut and fluff and shenanigans anyway, I still wanna come back to it in a second post, though this has already eaten hours of my time whoops 🙃

l guess anyone who reads this and has been confused about the plot so far, can chime in and let us both know 1) how much of what I wrote was news to them, 2) if they have any specific questions or questionable subs that come to mind, or 3) what exactly about the plot is a mystery to them.

Naughty Babe Ep 8 (Finale) Stray Thoughts

Last week, we cleared out most of Diao’s family drama and Diao broke up with his dad. Many guards ran out and there was a scuffle. Diao and friends planned a potential escape from the wedding, and Yi’s dad told Diao he would support him but couldn’t let him escape easily. There was a bunch of family drama about Diao’s stepmom sleeping with his uncle and such. I’m sure other things happened, but I lost most of my investment.

These two have been together for like 15 years. How has Diao never met Yi’s mom before this?

I don’t get the whole deal with the guards being there to enforce the wedding, but I hope all these shenanigans at least prove fun.

Why would we as Neur and Syn to help with this part of the plan if it involved lying? At least we got to see them again.

Lian ain’t shit and I love that.

I do not recognize most of the boys helping Kon Diao.

Well, the running around was kinda mid.

Max and Nat kiss good, but this was all extremely silly. Still, I like the idea of a second proposal on their own terms.

I just came from a wedding of close personal importance, so I got super emotional seeing Diao in his wedding outfit.

The Cutie Pie universe is so funny. Like they go hard as fuck for marriage equality and then pair the most dysfunctional communicators they can find.

Final Verdict: 6, It’s Inessential. I just don’t think any of us really needs to watch this show. I thought the entire drama between Yi and Diao was kinda stupid, and there was no consequence for much of anything in the show. Max and Nat are fun to watch kiss and I appreciate their chemistry and teamwork, but this show wasn’t really it for me at all. It’s pretty, and it may do something for Cutie Pie fans just happy to be around the characters again, but I will probably never return to this show.

Reverse Engineering the Best Kiss 💋 Bracket Seeding

I am very impressed by how accurate the BL brackets organizer's seeding has been so far! I reverse engineered the two seeded brackets ('cause i'm a procrastinating dork), and in both the first seed won, the semifinals was between 1 and 2, and the bottom 16 lost in the first round. Otherwise it wasn't perfect (because that would be no fun) but it was pretty close!

I was inspired by their answer to this ask about how they did the seeding, and extrapolated the order from these brackets.

Below the cut is the seeding for Best Kiss, so you can see what it looks like! (Assuming I ordered them correctly!) The Gender Envy seeding (as reverse engineered by me) is in this post.

Of the 64 candidates, 10 did better than expected and 10 did worse, so 69% of candidates performed exactly as predicted by their position, and in 84% of match-ups the higher seed won.

The final 4 were the top 4 seeds, the semifinalists the top 2, the winner, 1st seed. The top 16 seeds almost exactly matched the final 16; Hojoon & Jaeyoon (Roommates) snuck up in there from 18th seed, and 15th seed Sky & Prapai (LITA) fell in the 2nd round instead of the 3rd. The bottom 16 all went out in the first round. The biggest shakeup was because of 7 of the candidates in the 2nd quartile who in the 1st round defeated 7 slightly higher seeded candidates in the 3rd quartile. The biggest upset was 48th seed Shi De & Shu Yi’s drunk kiss (We Best Love 2) winning over 17th seed Seojoon & Jiwoo kiss on the dirt road (To My Star 2), overcoming a difference of 31 positions.

My first and longest Relationship of four years ended just two Weeks ago. and what do we do to get over men? we stan more men. So this post is me Fangirling BL Characters.

Note: i thought about if i wanted this to be actors or Characters, but in the end i dont know anything about the actors, so that would be purely phisical wich is kinda boring, so this will be abour Charakters more then actors ( but lets be honest sometimes the actor just plays into it, i am biased after all. With that being said: LETS GO.

I love Porchay, Tinn and Gun, and i know the actors are all 18 now, but when they where Filming they were all minors, so are thier caracters. It dosent matter to me that i am not much older. Tinn , Gun and Porchay go in the cute folder and stay there.

14. Hia YI (Cutie Pie)

I knew i would end up with one of the Hia-Squad Guys on this list. in thhe end it is Hia Yi, I personally find him a bit more atractive then Lian but it also breaks my heart how gultiy he still feels for Diaos accident. I think he cares so much that sometimes he doset know how to act what makes him distant, wich is the reason he only manages spot 14 on this list.

13. Leo (dont say no)

So first of: i was todays days old when i found out Leo und Fiat are a support ship in Tarntype but anyway ... i like leo, he is lovabale, cute, supportive and can man-handle you if wanted. What puts him a bit down for me is how just accepting he is sometimes, like have your own willpower if you just do what i say , i feel like i am taking advantage of him.

12. Price (Sky in your Mind)

I think i am kind of simmalr to Prince, we would get along, ofc i am not an aristocratic heir, but i am studying to be a teacher, i love being around kids and i have a more gentle personaltiy, this is also the reason he is not higher, i dont think we an really chalange each other to grow. but he is probably the most cute canditate on this list. and he will always be.

11. Kinn (KinnPorsche)

And here my bias beginns.... Kinn is probably the worst boyfriend on this list if you ... you know not wanna die. But he is my Bad Boy, the one who would burn the world for you, would kill for you, and still would be kind to you and you only. He is gonna leave his mafia Life behind for you (like he wanted to for Porsche) and GOD i am sorry but Mile is so fucking atractive its unfair.

10. Sky (Love in the Air)

If i wanna have sky on this list i gotta kind of disrigade his Trauma, cause i know i would not be able to take care of it at this point of my life, i dont know if i could handle it, like Pai can for example. But if we talk about his looks: i mean sky is very pretty and i find him very cute in casual cloth. His Personality also seems very entertaing to be around, he can be fun,cute, sassy and seems highly intelegint so you can have a good conversation with him. Sjy biggest "downside" is how he sometimes just forgets to communicate with people that care about him, wich could become pretty anoying i imagainen.

9. Akk (The Eclipse)

I will say this is the point where it just into who is my typ the most (maybe with one exeption), but that being said i love the eclipse and you will find Akks other half even higher on this list (just because he is more my type xD ) but akk is someone so incredibly sweet, he of course hase the brainwashing problem that has to be dealt with but as we can see as soon as his views get challenged he shows how much he cares, you can also see this side of him earlier with his friends, so i think Akk is just gonna get goofier with time.

8. Win (Between us)

I don’t really know why i need Win on this list, but everytime the WinTeam, Into you, edit comes into my YouTube autoplay i just fall in love with him again. Of course it has to do with the fact that bourn is a very handsaome guy, but also how deeply he cares, not only for Team but for his siblings, and friends. He ofcourse has his own problems, than again who doesn’t. Also i can’t explain why but i find swimming extremely attractive. Don’t judge me.

7. Sound (My School President)

So sound is just cute, i would like someone to court me so respectfully aggressiv like he is courting Win, sound seems distant at first when he joins the music club, but warms up to them and turns out to be kind of a goofball himself, he cares for them and even try’s (to no success) to hide his wrist injuries so to not worry them. I think by now my type kind of shows himself: i am really into men who can man-handle me but in a very respectful way if you know what i mean, and i feel like sounds just fits so perfectly on that description.

6. Gaipa (Moonlight Chicken)

So Gaipa is kind of cheating myself, because as already mentioned with Akk , Akks second half will be a bit later on this list, and big surprise if i like Aye , Gaipa is really not that far away, after all to no one’s surprise they look the same. But i could have done this with multiple people on this list so why Kaipa? I just think the way Gaipa showed his love for Jim is so lovely to me. His food is his love language and i feel like he is getting absolutely robbed by Jim, He knows Gaipa likes him and just ignores him.He is kind, thoughtful and so desperately in love with Jim that i can’t do anything but feel sad for him being stuck in between where he is. When he loves you he gives you his all. I am interested to see how his story will progress and maybe he will be even higher by the end of Moonlight Chicken.

5. Pat (Bad Buddy)

So when i tried to decide if i want Pat or Pran higher on this list i had a rough time, I think my problem is that their characters shine in their Relationship with each other the most. So i think separating them takes away a lot of it. But we are not here for deep analysis we are here for my Valentines Shitpost. And i think Pat is fun entertaing and very Handsome, maybe to me even a bit more Handsome then Pran to me. But i think he would clash why harder in many regards. I would like to keep it lowkey and i need my life to be organised so i think Pat and i could have fun but we would clash and challenge each other a lot.

4.Pran (Bad Buddy)

As mentioned it was a close race for fourth between Pat and Pran and eventho i personally find Pat a bit more Handsome i think personality wise i would match better with Pran. I like his artsy side a lot, and my god i don’t know why i didn’t say that when talking about Sound earlier but my god Men that can play gituar and sing me to sleep just double their attractiveness. I also like how organised he likes to be and his a bit more (at least compared to Pat) slow and gentle personality. Pat is an all in lover wich i can respect but i have a bit more respect for Pran, he loved Pat for so long without knowing how to convey his Feelings or if they even ever had a chance, that man truly loves and if he does he does so for a long time.

Before my Top 3 : so those three i shuffled around like 5 times while making this list and i still feel like the list changes every other minute. But i love them all so much and god if one of them wants to become real and date me , hit me up

3. Parpai (Love in the Air)

Okay so to start this of: i think Fort ( or parpai, take it as you want) is incredibly attractive. I started watching BL cause i saw a picture of him in the Viki Preview of Love in the Air. That is also one of the reasons Parpai is so high on this list, he just holds a special place in my heart. But also if you ignore his first not so respectful aggressiv courting at the beginning you get a very green flag. He cares and communicates so much, he makes sure his partner knows he is there for him and he sugar baby’s him (that is not needed tho) also something i said in my love in the air review is that before i saw Fort i never understood what it means when people say someone has gentle eyes but god damit i can see it with Fort. Everytime he looks at anything really he just seems like he could calm my worst moods pretty easy, if you wanted more what i like about Parpai i could write down Skys notebook here but you can just watch Ep.12 again and you will know. Parpai will be always one of my favourite characters.

2. Kim (KinnPorsche)

Kim is just as Kinn ealier Probably not a really good Option when looking for someone to date. His family just is a major Problem. He knows that too, just look at his broken Love for Porschay. But he is in anyway the Softer version of Kim. Yes he is in a very Dangerous Family but he is way less involved, He would also Kill and Burn the world for you but i feel like Kinn would burn it down first and then look for you and Kim would look first. And i said it before and i will say it again: MY GOD i love my sining guitar Players. The softness with wich Kim looks at Porchay makes my Butterflies have a dance party every time. Breaking my Character only Rule here the most i also gotta say that Jeff Satur is to me one of the most Attractive People out there. And if he is actually like he is portrait in Interviews and lives i would be super down to date someone like him. I fell so hard when he said his pet peeve are bully’s. It sounds so standard but most people have why more trivial things as pet peeves and bully’s i think is an incredibly sweet answer. Also the way and the patience with wich he takes care of the so much younger Barcode shows how lovable he is. BUT going back to Kim even tho dating Kim would never be free of danger i think he would do EVERYTHING to keep you out of it. because he loves you.

1. Aye (The Eclipse)

We had Khao on this list ealier where i didn’t say it but i think it is pretty clear that i think he is super Pretty and Handsome. He wouldn’t make the list twice if i didn’t think so. But why is does Aye win the Gold Medal and Kaipa doesn’t? First of i Personally think no one on this list full files Respectfully Man-Handling you the way Aye does. He is just so sweet, playful but sure of his beliefs and ideals, he is also willing to compromise to make his partner comfortable without letting them do the wrong thing. I can write a long list of words here what i like about Aye: Handsome, Funny, Kind, caring, Smart, Wilful, Loveable, committed. But i don’t feel like i do him justice, I can’t discribe what makes me love him so much. If you haven’t seen the Eclipse. Go watch it. Its really good. And Fall in love with Aye like i have. I also want to add that i think Khao does a great job acting, he is a very skilled emotional actor and makes you feel like you wanna cry when he is said but also makes you happy with him, wich makes Aye feel so alive.

I feel like Cutie Pie got more flak than I would have expected for a show with it's premise so I've been trying to find and follow more people who are enthusiastic about the continuation and its melodramatic plot. MaxNat are one of my favorite actor pairings so I'm really happy they're getting this and Two Worlds (hopefully) this year.

And it really did get a lot of flak, didn't it? I kept seeing Very Serious Criticisms while it was airing, and while of course no one's obligated to love everything, Cutie Pie is such an inoffensive piece of fluff in my eyes that attacking it felt like the end scene in Kung Fu Panda when Tai Lung keeps punching Po in his squishy belly and Po giggles because it tickles. Cutie Pie the Series is Director Aoftion Kittipat Jampa smooshing the snouts of pastel-colored qilen plushies together over and over and then throwing one across the room so the other one will cry. To me, it's like getting mad at a street vendor because you ordered cotton candy for lunch and now you're hungry.

Cutie Pie was always going to be exactly what it advertised itself to be: arranged marriage melodrama and fluff to launch ZeeNuNew as a branded pair. And WHOO did it do that well. The stakes lean 100% on emotions because Lian, Kuea, Yi, and Diao all have the money cheat from The Sims on. Kuea's a literal aristocrat whose money is never in any danger whatsoever. He has an extra house, and the story goes out of its way to have Diao go, "Oh no, Kuea, will you lose your Extra House?" and Kuea effectively goes, "Of course not, lol." And the story barely tries to make his family's "tenuous" financial situation a thing because most of the fans had gathered to see emotional bullshit leading up to multiple proclamations of love and the creators knew it.

Kuea and Lian could buy several small islands to make out on, go home, and immediately forget they own them. Like, sincerely, one of my favorite scenes in the entire show is when Kuea realizes he monetized his channel months ago and has been making a lot of money without realizing it. And the point of the scene is just, "Ooh! Now I know how to propose to my fiancé!" He'll forget he monetized it again in exactly seven seconds. If that.

Basically, when I play my favorite game Would Black of Not Me the Series Repeatedly Kick This Character in the Face? the entire cast of Cutie Pie are reigning champions. (Yes, even Foei. Not for class reasons, just for being chipper.)

So yes! I'm excited for Naughty Babe because even though the premise is far more melodramatic than Cutie Pie, I think it'll be a fun time. Y'just gotta go into these fluffy series expecting fluff, that's all. Don't get mad when you punch a giggling panda. <3

My end-of-the-weekend series round-up...in roughly the order I watched them:

Dear Doctor I’m Coming for Soul ep 5: I like this series. I like the premise. If I look past the medical stuff it's a great little story. I'm intrigued by the relationship Tua had with young Prakan (please don't spoil it for me!) and I think the main couple are great. Not to sure about some of the other characters. Oh and the use of music that’s already been used in Bad Buddy 😊 but on the whole it has me hooked.

Secret Crush on You ep 11: Not enough Jao and Sky. DEFINITELY not enough Daisy and Intouch. Did not like the 'wife' reference with Toh and Neur – I thought we were moving on from all that. The actor who plays Daisy did a brilliant job portraying her desire and attempt to be more masculine. And I LOVE Som...especially her being left alone - I felt seen 😂 I thought there was one ep left in the series but apparently there's three.

Star in my Mind ep 3: Great again. Loving Khabkleun pining over Daonuea. I wish he would clear up the Gia situation though. After watching Som in scoy being left alone, Fah then drove the message home with his “Some people are meant to be single.” 😂 The morning after the drunken night before was beautiful – not a sign of embarrassment to be seen from Khabkleun 👏🏼 – and I feel pretty pleased that with all the Thai series I’ve watched I understood the confusion in the Phi/brother conversation 💪🏼 And then that bloody house again and 'Leo’s' mum! But the pool scene was great.

Plus and Minus ep 3: I love this series so much and I can't wait until their feelings are reciprocated and they stare lovingly into each other's eyes. Taiwan just knows how to strum my heartstrings.

Cutie Pie ep 9: I have to say it but I thought there was too much Kuea and Lian this ep. And time wasted with all the kissing which could have been used to further Diao and Yi's storyline...which I am just getting as fed up with as Diao is getting fed up with Yi. When they drag it out this much it stops being interesting. I also didn't like Kuea saying 'no' to Lian all the time and then Lian not stopping -> consent, who is she? 🙄 Syn and Neur were cute, but there wasn’t enough of them, and the way they handled Kuea finding out about the transfer of deeds was dull and boring and predictable from a mile off. Yawn.

What Zabb Man ep 3: I like the characters. I like their growing attractions BUT the inappropriateness of the boss/employee relationship does bother me. Oh and the use of the annoying female/faen fatale – god we were so spoiled with Ink in Bad Buddy. I'm ignoring both issues for the sake of my watching pleasure but I wish they could have been handled differently. The dynamics between the two couples are just great, though.

Cupid’s Last Wish ep 5: I got a bit confused this ep because I could have sworn they were on a big 17 hour drive to the next temple but then suddenly they were in Bangkok at Korn's hotel...but, as always, I think Mix and Jan are doing a fab job playing Win. I don’t really understand why Win thinks Korn ‘did something wrong’ getting included on Win’s father’s will, though – surely it was just his father’s decision and, as I’ve said before, it’s probably a security thing to ensure Korn and Win have a majority stake in the farm or something. 🤷🏽‍♀️ It just seems strange that Win is so upset about it.
