Nassau County of Long Island, New York passed a mask ban bill today. Please make a habit of calling your city, county, state, and federal representatives expressing your opposition to mask bans because fascist legislative proposals like this is absolutely going to be domino effecting throughout the US. AND WEAR A MASK IN PUBLIC. WEAR A MASK TO NOT ONLY PROTECT US, BUT SUPPORT US.

if youre in an environment that tends to concentrate autists its easy to see someone deeply odd and conclude "oh, they're probably autistic". but "not autistic but hangs out with autists and is deeply odd" is a whole type of guy. mat and reggie on here, scott alexander, possibly aella. but you shouldnt let psychiatry trick you. autism seems to be a sort of real thing, theres a cluster of seemingly unrelated strange traits that are correlated with each other, which is weird. but psychiatry is just like...a tool we have, we havent Solved Human Personality. you can just be a strange guy in a way psychaitry doesnt understand

The way people demonize seagulls is actually unreal. Almost all of their natural habitat has been destroyed (almost all coastal areas have been developed, destroying natural sand dune ecosystems) and they're doing their best to adapt. They're literally just trying to survive. You're in their home. The vitriol some people have for these gorgeous sea birds just because they're not shy about snatching food if you're not cautious is insane

People on here are always like "fuck capitalism, why can't things be weird anymore" and then write up a whole dissertation about how the biggest IPs need to change to be weirder.

Like, you are so close. You are so close to getting the point. "Big" IPs *can only exist because they are normal*. They will *never* be weird. They will *never* do what you want. Go find some smaller IPs. Bring back discovery. Bring back never having heard of a book before you buy it. Bring back watching obscure anime online that none of your friends know about. Bring back trying new things, even if they're bad or cheaply made. That is how you get *weird*.
