I am once again taught how shitty parasocial relationships are!!! yes it's my fault for glorifying a celebrity (taika waititi) but god am I so disappointed. how do you build your whole platform and brand on anticolonialsim and liberation of indigenous peoples and then sign a damn letter in support of genocide? I just don't understand

Ed Teach is Jewish btw. Taika Watiti and David Jenkins could personally give me an hour long powerpoint presentation in my living room about why he’s not but he’d still be Jewish.

(sorry again for a very late answer😭)
oh fuck omg?! have you gone to the doctor to check it out or do you know yourself why you pass you? ;((
heheh thank you! ateez really caught my heart and even if I’ve tried getting into others it hasn’t really worked :P i think i immediately started writing for them when i started stanning, but began posting fics last late summer!!🥰 my friend was already stanning them and they were watching logbook 26 (which was like 1st July 2019?) and i immediately fell for Hongjoong- HEHEH;) and then i got to check out their music and FELL IN LOVE WITH THEIR TALENT!!! that about you??💕
oh great!!<3 ik it’s so sad!! my gf is sharing Disney+ with some friends and she was kind and let me use her login🥺 so, I could catch up on the content there!! super excited for the movies tho, it’s been so long! :((
OOHH! i really love Gamora, Bucky, Sam, Natasha, Carol, Thor, Okoye, T’challa~ they’re great!! Top five for me has to be Captain America: the winter soldier, Thor Ragnarok, Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Doctor Strange (i really cant decide on one lolll)
so what about you? any top movies or characters?? :))
btw, ive been reading up on your fics and they’re absolutely magnificent!! agh i get so inspired and they’re really captivating!<3
hi my lovely~
i just have low blood sugar's so i get shaky and low energy but i'm also an insomniac and we think i may be anemic so there's that too... it's not that bad though so don't worry!!
that sounds like a wonderful first experience of ateez for you!! i've been into kpop since around 2012/2013? so when ateez debuted it wasn't hard to get into them (bc all they have are bops) but i actually didn't know pirate kind was them... i had seen their predebut videos but i was avoiding pirate king because it was everywhere and my brain is weird haha, but yeah once i finally caved and watched their debut mvs i was hooked!
your gf is v kind for that!!
my favourite marvel characters are peter parker, carol danvers and loki!! i love ragnarok! the whole thor reboot is a masterpiece (taika watiti is a genius) and black panther is amazing (i can't wait for the sequel) but i think my favourites have to be the avengers series, where they're all together! esp endgame, i rewatch that way too much.
I've seen!! I love seeing your tags when you reblog things!!! But you saying that makes me really happy!! Thank you for liking my work <3
How've you been? Have you had a nice weekend so far? I've got a birthday bbq later today for my uncle's 74th so that'll be fun haha.

What’s up, tumblr? I’m still alive, which isn’t an unnecessary platitude these days. I keep intending to make updates, and I’ve started posts like three times in the last week but never managed to finish them, so this time I’m doing it.
So yes, I continue to live and not be sick so far, I guess? I will say there have been many times over the last couple weeks I’ve felt off due to what is probably seasonal allergies, but my brain sure likes to make me worry I’ve got Corona. Today, in fact, I got cold midday and I was like, “Oh shit, are the chills coming on? Better feel my forehead, is it hot??”
Sigh.
I didn’t get chills, btw, I was just cold. I keep telling myself more than likely if you get it, it hits you the way a flu does where your whole body just immediately feels like shit, and that certainly hasn’t happened.
All of this has instilled a healthier fear of the virus than I had, for example, a week ago. For the first couple weeks I was leaving the house daily, sometimes to drop off eBay packages at the post office, but mostly as an excuse to stuff my face with food. I was hitting drive thrus and making trips into Walmart just for junk food, trying to be as careful as possible with keeping my hands clean and everything, but still taking unnecessary risks just to eat food I shouldn’t be eating in the first place.
This week I curbed that urge and haven’t been going out nearly as much, but I’m sorry to say I’m still managing to eat junk I shouldn’t be eating. I was good for about two days, but when I had to go to Walmart yesterday I stocked up on more illicit junk. (Also I would like to say that carrot cake flavored Oreos are very disappointing. I rarely enjoy any of the special flavors, and I don’t even like double stuff ones. Original only, dunked into milk until they get soft.)
The gov’t has now given the suggestion for wearing facemasks when going shopping, and I was actually going to Walmart yesterday for supplies for my mom to make some homemade ones, which meant I didn’t have one to wear for the trip. Probably half the people in the store were wearing them though, and I felt kind of bad for not having one. I tried to hold my breath when I passed people in the aisle.
I’d heard some Walmarts were instituting one-way aisles in the store, but our local one only had the entrances and exits separated, the inside of the store was normal.
My mom finished one mask today and I tried it on. I guess it might make me feel slightly better mentally, but I hate actually wearing masks. They’re so hot. It’s like trying to keep the blanket over your head in bed, breathing recycled hot air, yuck. There’s also a lot of people claiming anything but the actual medical grade surgical facemasks don’t do much anyway, but I will still be wearing one on future shopping trips because it feels better than absolutely nothing, I guess.
Let’s see, what else? Oh, I got an email from the dude I embarrassingly asked out last year, but only as a business marketing thing because the reason I met him is because his company did work on my house. It was just a thing basically asking for referrals and saying they’re still available to do work and can do everything while keeping up the social distancing thing. But it was still an unpleasant reminder of my cringey memory anyway.
Speaking of cringe, I randomly remembered an incident that must be at least 15 years old when Chip and I were walking through a bookstore, which we used to do all the time, and there was an author sitting at a table for a book signing event. It wasn’t anyone I’d ever heard of, and indeed he must not have been too terribly popular because there was no one else there. Just him, sitting at his table with a pile of books, and the second hand embarrassment still makes me hurt all these years later. I hope at least a few people came to see him.
I had another sex dream about Hyde from That 70s Show a few days ago. I am not like super hot for him generally, but apparently my subconscious is because this isn’t the first such dream I’ve had about him. Weird.
I have continued my Star Wars prequel watches with Attack of the Clones, and I I can report that it, too, also sucks. Bad dialogue, bad line readings, bad characterizations. Anakin and Padme are supposed to fall in love, and yet there’s no chemistry and Anakin is whiny and petulant and I don’t see powerful Senator Padme being attracted to any of it. Also, wtf did the Sand People do to his mom?? I mean, I can guess what they are implying, but... Damn. Also, I hadn’t remembered that the actors they cast as Jango and Boba Fett were from, judging by their accents, New Zealand. It makes sense, as they movies were filmed in Australia. But their accents sound just like Taika Watiti, and it tickled me.
On the other end of the spectrum the Nicole Kidman movie The Others came on tv so I rewatched it, and it’s always a great movie. I think it’s definitely one of my favorite Nicole Kidman movies. In fact, I just took a stroll through her IMDB just now, and I can say my favorite movie featuring Nicole Kidman is Practical Magic, and The Others is number two. It’s a suspense/light horror movie, and the child actors in it are great, too. I checked to see if the girl who plays her daughter had done anything else, and she mostly hasn’t, so that’s kind of sad.
And finally, my parents and I finished watching Tiger King on Netflix, which has taken the country by storm in the last couple weeks. And guess what - I have actually been to that “zoo.” It was just a few months after Chip died almost 6 years ago, and my Dad had heard about it and wanted to go, so my parents, my sister, and I all drove up to Oklahoma and took a tour. Joe was there and when the tour started you went and sat in a small set of stands and he came out with a couple tigers and interacted with them in a big cage in front of the stands. Then everyone walked around the rest of the grounds on a guided tour. They had a few other types of animals, notably a camel, as I remember. They did not do the cub petting as they didn’t have any at the time, but they brought out a huge yellow python you could touch and take pictures with, which is probably the same one featured in a couple scenes of the Netflix show.
Do we feel kinda skeezy now that we went, after seeing the show? Well, I know I do, but what are you gonna do? I do remember seeing all the crazy stuff in the gift shop, like his albums and products like underwear and condoms with his face, etc, and thinking it was super weird at the time.
Okay, I guess this is long enough to count as an update. It’s nearly 2AM and I told myself I was going to try to get to bed earlier tonight (and yes, this represents earlier) so off I go.

So, it’s New Year’s Eve so I thought I would talk about some of my favorite movies to come out of 2019 and some of my most disappointing movies to come out of 2019 even though nobody cares.
5 favorite movies this year:
5: “The Irishman” directed by Martin Scorsese. I don’t have anything particularly notable to say about the Irishman other than its de-aging CG looked amazing. But I really liked this movie the only reason it’s not higher up on the list is because the plot was a bit too hard to follow for my baby brain.
4. “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” directed by Andre Øvredal (I’m so sorry André I really hope I spelled that right). I love this movie. It’s great. Everyone should watch it. It’s a movie I will watch every Halloween season for sure. The biggest compliment I can give it are the visuals. I can’t even describe how good the monsters look. But like we been knew.
3. “Us” directed by Jordan Peele. Jordan Peele is the Taika Watiti of horror and he’s gonna completely revolutionize the genre. I love this movie because (spoilers) everybody lives, it’s high concept done well and it shows that we as a society can still make good horror movies with good twists.
2. “El Camino” directed by Vince Gilligan. Since this movie came out so long after Breaking Bad came out it gave me the closure that I forgot I needed. After season 5 of BB we were all wondering what happened to Jesse but then we figured “welp guess we’ll never know” but now we DO and I’m super satisfied with where he ends up in the end, it’s what he deserves, but most of this movie is very sad and I like it very much. (It deserves an award for how it handled trauma btw)
1. “Joker” directed by Todd Philips yeah, yeah, I’m a basic bitch but I don’t care I like Joker and Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic in this movie and it’s very well-written. I know a lot of people don’t like it but . . . it was very satisfying to watch and it was an excellent theater experience due to its impeccable sound design and I know *some* of y’all hated it before you saw it because of the way some fans react to Joker as a character. (Weliveinasociety)
5 most disappointing movies of 2019 . . .
5. “Pet Sematary” directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer. The reason this movie is on this list is because it’s ending was really stupid and bad and the reason it’s not higher is because the rest of it was good.
4. “Child’s Play” directed by Lars Klevberg. No offense to anyone who liked this reboot but I can’t think of any Child’s Play fan who would enjoy Child’s Play 2019. Anyone who likes Chucky won’t like this version of Chucky which is such a shame because Mark Hamill is one of my favorite actors of all time and he did a great job as always I don’t blame him at all but the fact that he had to be in such a sucky movie is just sad.
3. “It 2” directed by Andrés Muschietti. Yeah It 2 was disappointing cause the whole point of them splitting it into two movies was so they wouldn’t have to jump from kids to adults so much and this movie focuses so much giving us backstory they forgot to give us in the previous movie that nothing I loved about the book is in this, or portrayed enough (the town being destroyed, Eddie Kaspbrak’s wife, AUDRA, Ben having character, the turtle, AUDRA) so yeah that’s why it’s on this list.
2. “Maleficent 2” directed by Joachim Rønning. This movie man . . . I am at some point going to type up more about why I don’t like it but just know that I adore the first Maleficent, it’s such a beautiful story and this movie lacks all the nuance and subtlety of its predecessor. Extremely disappointing.
1. “Rise of the Skywalker” directed by JJ Abrams. See I was wondering if I should wait till ROTS is no longer so fresh in our minds but fuck it. This movie is bad. As someone who loves TFA and TLJ ROTS is the weakest of the trilogy. I don’t wanna rip into it too much cause I have friends on here who like it but it’s chaotic and makes a lot of decisions I really don’t like. But it’s totally cool if people like it I know some people do I just personally did not feel like this resolved the sequel trilogy at all.

AHHHH oh my god finished it. This is the first time in a long time ive finished a show in one day (sort of two, started at like 5pm and it’s now 3am.) I’ve been doing other stuff while it’s on but still 😅
So WOW I’m truly glad they did in fact commit, didn’t dance around the topic, they kissed, they’re in love, it’s wonderful. That kiss/confession scene was so wonderful and heartwarming. It’s truly awesome for anyone who has craved representation in media, especially other fandom people who have been through things like Sherlock and Supernatural (never watched those shows myself but followed the situations, they really toyed with the fans there.) The people who made this show have done a great thing.
But also AHHH HOW DARE THEY END IT THAT WAY?? Like this show just came out, are we going to have to wait 1-2 years for season 2?? I’m gonna cry y’all. It was such a beautiful show, and narratively wonderful, but also how dare they hurt Ed that way?? Like something about his character and/or Taika Watiti’s acting makes me cry whenever Ed cries, which is not all that common for me. Like love Stede too of course but Stede has his other emotional support (Mary is amazing btw, love her and how supportive she is) but Ed is all alone. And he thinks the person he loves just abandoned him. It’s too much. Good lord my heart.
Also we didn’t see a body so I’m hoping Lucius isn’t dead. I won’t believe it until I see a body, but rude, he also has a partner waiting for him. And Oluwande and Jim too 🥺🥺 everyone is separated, I just want them all to be happy.
I only planned to watch one episode of Our Flag Means Death while I ate dinner but now I’m on episode 6 and I’m officially obsessed. I actually started crying seeing Stede comforting Ed in the tub. I had a feeling that I’d love this show but I didn’t expect to have it hook me so solidly, good lord. It’s safe to say I ship those two and want the best things for them, they deserve the world.
I’ve seen people praising it for actually committing and not queerbaiting, which is amazing, but also please god I hope that means this show has a happy ending.
