madohomu makes me absolutely insane btw. girl that can't be saved x girl that refuses to stop trying. girl that lives in a timeloop x girl that forgets everything when the loop repeats. love divided by time and space, yet omnipresent. homura falls deeper and deeper in love with madoka, and her love is felt, even when madoka forgets who she is, over and over again. this is the shit that they might be giants was talking about when they wrote ana ng

"i don't want the world, i just want your half."
how do i explain this. i've been listening to ana ng on repeat, and it made me think about little sasha and milla, a world apart, doomed not to know each other for another decade or so. i can't lie, i'm very proud of this one 😅😅😅

Thinking about how Flansburgh says Linnell is the biggest musical influence on him and he often puts down his own musical skills in comparison to Linnell, and meanwhile Linnell said Flans gets the kind of inspirations he always feels jealous of and hopes never finds out that he could do this all on his own, and that one time they fought over the guitar in Ana Ng because Flans thought Linnell was questioning his ability to play the riff and the way Linnell ended that whole story by writing "We made up. We're friends now. It all worked out." and when Flans was asked which artist living or dead he'd most like to collaborate with he said John Linnell.

This is going to be the second in what is apparently an extremely slowly progressing series of posts in which I talk about a hyperspecific songwriting trope that I'm fond of. Today's trope is songs where the singer sings someone else's song in their own song. To qualify for this it's not enough to just quote a line from a different song, I want at least an entire verse to be borrowed for it to count.
I feel like there must be tons of good examples of this but I can only think of four off the top of my head, and bizarrely enough two of them are borrowing from the exact same song, which is "Ana Ng" by They Might Be Giants. And not even the same part of that song! "The Peculiar Case of the Human Song Generators" by the Paranoid Style is basically Elizabeth Nelson excitedly infodumping about TMBG for two minutes, and about 1:30 in she cuts off to sing the first verse of "Ana Ng". Then Car Seat Headrest borrow the chorus for part of "Cute Thing" (about 3:50) with a couple words changed, contextualized in the preceding few seconds with a cute weird adolescent memory. This is a somewhat less pure example because it doesn't borrow from the other song musically at all, just the words.
"Kiss Your Lips" by Allo Darlin is a relatively literal example, Elizabeth Morris sings about singing along to her "favourite Weezer song" with her love (1:10) and then demonstrates by singing the chorus to "El Scorcho", with I guess the rest of the band(?) joining in. Possibly this is evidence she is dating her whole band I'm not really sure.
And finally, in my ignorance I had no idea the last verse of "Cold Milk Bottle" (1:15) by the Mountain Goats is taken from the jazz standard "Mean to Me" until I'd already been listening to it for years! Weird feeling! Although John D seems to have misheard "you shouldn't, for can't you see" as "you shouldn't forget, you see". Or possibly changed it on purpose but I bet he misheard it!!
---
I don't know why my little list has involved three Johns and two Elizabeths, that's weird right. Anyway please write in if you know some more.

This was for an art class homework assignment, i definitely overcomplicated it for myself but it was SO WORTH IT! (I got a 100% on it)
If you cant tell this is based on Spencer and Maeve from Criminal Minds... i love them so so much and this song makes me think of them >:3
And yes cutting out all the tiny words took me one million years (about three hours probably.. maybe more.)

The funny thing about Linnell's authorial headcanon about Ana Ng — where Ana lives in Vietnam and the perspective character lives in Peru — is that the song strongly implies that they both went to New York for the 1964 world fair as kids. Why would their families go that far for that.

Forgot to post here by but here are my Rejuvenation ocs based on my 2 runs of this game. Kaira von Bradt and Melee. To sum up their lore, it's based on the Tao Trio and Picollo, and Kami. In the old world/version, they were once one person named Maroon (any pronouns, Ana Host) who was that world's interceptor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After their world was destroyed, Maroon lashed out at Variya and Karma, blaming them. Maroon was later dealt with by them. Instead of destroying him, Variya still saw potential in Maroon and wanted to give her a new start while testing an experiment. Variya divided their souls into 2 and, using Ariana's soul as a basis, made the positive half of Maroon into a separate being, and Kaira Interceptor of Jovaility was born with none of Maroon's memories (initially). The negative half was supposed to be imprisoned, never to be released. However, through sheer will power, hatred for everything Variya stands for, and patience, the negative half escaped, tricking a relatively new interceptor who recently lost Nancy, called Melee. The negative half overlapped and overtook Melee, stealing his body, soul(s), and name. Melee Interceptor of Turmoil was born with all the unresolved grief, guilt, and most importantly, hate that Maroon left behind.
Kaira and Melee VS and Trainer Sprites by @pokefangamebrainrot
Kaira Von Bradt - Physical Age: 20, Height: 6.1, Host: Ariana Route- Imperfect Paragon (She/They)
The positive half: A kind person who tries her best to save her friends and family. They don't hate the role she was given, but try to live her life as a normal Pokémon Trainer. When she gets angry, you don't want to be around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Melee - Physical Age: 19, Height: 5.10, Host: Axel, Route- Terajuma NG+ Renegade (He/Him)
The negative half: Will stop at nothing to destroy the world that Variya made. He's cruel, arrogant, and tends to take anything not related to his mission as not serious. He still cares about his friend but he goes through lengths to snuff it out,

WHAT IS THIS?
Hi there, welcome to my blog, if you couldn't already tell this is a Limbus OC blog focused on a LCCA team that probably shouldn't have their jobs.
WHY ARE THEY ALL MUSIC?
As we all know the original cast of Limbus Company is all based upon books. Now truth be told I have not ready many books that could translate well into Limbus Characters, however, I fucking love music. So we doing music now.
WHO AM I?
I'm Lazy, a British Bloke who really likes the world of Project Moon I guess.
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
The team consists of 7 employees each based off of popular, or what I think is popular, music. They are;
Employee 13-A: Ana Ng
Ana is a young man with familial ties to the Zwei Association, something he's not too thrilled about. He is based off of the music of They Might be Giants including the song from which he gets his name and Birdhouse in your Soul.
Employee 13-B: Penelope Horn
Penelope Horn is a former Inventor from T-Corp who still prides herself on the status of her past. Her inspiration is Golden Brown by the Stranglers and the Buggles' Video Killed the Radio Star
Employee 13-C: Yoko Osks
Yoko is a middle aged woman from N-Corp. Don't ask about her relation with her children. Inspired by the music of Yaelokre, particularly Harpy Hare, and Abba's Slipping Through my Fingers.
Employee 13-D: Stanford Barrett
Stanford is a former Boatswain from U-Corp, he's actually just kinda normal. Unless? He's inspired by the music of Stan Rogers such as Flowers of Bermuda, Northwest Passage, and Barrett's Privateers.
Employee 13-E: Leslie Scott
Leslie is a former L-Corp maintenance staff. The horrors are very real and she can comprehend them all too well. She is inspired by the Will Wood's Memento Mori and Leslie Fish's Engineers Hymn.
Employee 13-F: Roland Zevon
Roland is a man from G-Corp. He had a brother once. He is inspired by Warren Zevon's Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner and The Man who Sold the World (but the Nirvana version).
Employee 13-G: Charles Vivaldi
The conscripted leader, he really needs the cash okay? Inspired by Vivaldi's Four Seasons. (Very much still a Work in Progress)
