BAKUDEKU PRIDE WEEK DAY 1: LITTLE VICTORIES ❤

“Deku?”

Izuku jolted slightly at the sudden voice, having not heard Kacchan approach despite his combat boot-clad footsteps being anything but quiet. He titled his head up and back to smile at his...boyfriend? Best friend that he kissed sometimes? He wasn’t sure, since his and Kacchan’s relationship had changed so much over the years and never quite fit into a category. He was more than fine with it, though. He was happy. 

“Hi, Kacchan!” he chirped, setting his phone off to the side quickly and trying to turn his mind away from previous thoughts. Kacchan frowned down at him, raising an eyebrow. 

“The hell were you looking at?”

“Nothing,” he lied, reaching up to grab Kacchan’s arm and pull him down into the grass. Kacchan complied, letting Izuku sling the arm he’d grabbed over his shoulder and pull him in close. Kacchan continued inspecting him, definitely not believing him. “Really, Kacchan, it was nothing.” 

Kacchan huffed, then dug his fingers into Izuku’s hair and shook his head around a bit. “Then don’t be looking so fuckin’ bummed.” He proceeded to pull Izuku into a headlock against his chest, making him laugh. “I don’t wanna have to twist your arm off for you to tell me about shit, remember?” 

“Kacchan! Let go!” Izuku laughed, reaching up to slap a hand over his friend’s face, pushing him back and starting a short wrestling match that ended with Kacchan pinning him on his back.

“You gonna talk now?” he asked as Izuku stayed enamored with his handsome red eyes. 

“Hm,” Izuku hummed, blinking up at Kacchan innocently, “Maybe if you give me a kiss?”

Kacchan raised his eyebrow in a way that made Izuku’s heart stutter, leaning down slowly...then stopping just before pressing his lips into Izuku’s. “Talk first.” 

“Hey!” Izuku gasped in betrayal as Kacchan rolled off him with a downright evil cackle. “That was mean,” he pouted, sitting up.

Kacchan snorted a laugh and smirked. “That was negotiating.” 

“More like bribery!” Izuku protested. 

“Do you want a kiss or not?” 

“Fine,” Izuku huffed, grabbing his phone again and opening it to the webpage it had been on before. “I was...well, remember when we went to Mina’s house last week?” Kacchan nodded. “She had that...she had the pansexual flag on her wall, and I just thought...” Izuku sighed. “I don’t know.” 

“What, you want a pride flag?” Kacchan asked. Izuku hated the pang of anxiety that jolted through his chest even though he and Kacchan had been out to each other for years, and they were literally almost kissing just a second ago, but he can’t help it.

“I don’t know?” he answered truthfully, looking down at the online shop full of pride merch he’d been scrolling through, “I mean, a whole flag feels like...a lot. But maybe I want that?” Izuku ran a hand through his hair and huffed again. “This is a dumb thing to worried about, isn’t it? I should be loud and proud about this or something.” 

“Oi,” Kacchan interrupted, reaching out to grab Izuku by the chin, “Shut up, dumbass, this ain’t stupid. You should do whatever the hell you want to.” He scooted himself across the grass so he was sitting next to Izuku, looking over at his phone screen. “If you want a fuckin’ bi pride pin or some shit you should get one.” 

“Isn’t it...isn’t a little weird to wear a flag pin around?” Izuku asked quietly, frowning. Kacchan smacked him upside the head. “Ack! Kacchan!” 

“I dare you to go say that Shitty Hair,” Kacchan said as Izuku rubbed the back of his neck. Izuku blinked at him dumbly, remembering Kirishima’s collection of anything and everything with the trans flag on it. 

“That’s...he’s different,” he excused, sounding stupid even to himself. Kacchan just glared at him. “Right,” Izuku sighed, “excuses.” He dropped his gaze to the ground, only for Kacchan to huff, grab his chin, and force him to look back up. 

“Listen, Deku, you don’t owe shit to anyone but yourself, got it?” he said, red eyes earnest and stern in a way that always rendered Izuku incapable of looking away. “You want to wear a fucking bi flag dress, then you fucking do it, and you use your freakishly strong thighs to crush anyone you gives you shit for it.” Kacchan smirked as Izuku’s face heated. “Or maybe punch them, homophobes don’t deserve to die that happy.”

“Kacchan!” Izuku shrieked, face painting beet red as Kacchan snickered. “You can’t just say that!”

“Sure I can,” Kacchan grinned, releasing his chin as Izuku buried his face in his hands. “I’ve got plenty of things I could say, like-”

“ANYWAYS,” Izuku cut him off quickly, “your point was?” 

“Coward,” Kacchan smirked. “My point was,” he continued, wrapping his arms around Izuku and practically pulling the other boy into his lap, smiling up at him with a rare softness, “that you deserve to do what you want, not what you think you should want or what other people tell you want.” He paused for a second, then raised an eyebrow. “So, Deku, what do you want?” 

Izuku thought about that for a second, resting his hands on Kacchan’s broad shoulders, then broke into a mischievous smirk. “I want...,” he hummed, leaning forward until his arms were wrapped around Kacchan’s neck, “one of those little heart pins, a little flag for my desk, and...,” he trailed off, not missing the flush of Kacchan’s cheeks as he brought their faces a hair apart, leaning in until Kacchan’s eyes started to close and then - ”that’s it.” - shoving Kacchan back into the grass with a laugh of revenge and scrambling off him. 

“You ass!”

The next morning at school, Izuku opened his locker to find a small bisexual pride flag taped to the back, along with a note in Kacchan’s handwriting.

Quirk Ranking AU Stuff

Au based on @hey-hamlet​ ‘s Quirk Ranking au that stole my heart a while back. This au was the base for many a good roleplays with me and my friend. I love all of your aus btw. They’re all fun af.

So basically in this au in the beginning of the rooftop squad’s second year in UA the laws for the systematic ranking of quirks on a color coded danger scale was passed. This being said everyone had to have their quirks tested with the ranks being the following: 

Gray - Quirkless Green - Benign/harmless quirks Blue - Quirks that cause temporary and mild effects on others Yellow - When quirks start to get a bit more dangerous but are still controllable  Orange -  Quirks start to get more uncontrollable here and restrictions start being placed on people here.  Red - The straight out dangerous quirks. There’s lots of restrictions. They’re both revered in a sense since they can make powerful heroes, but discriminated against because they are feared.  Then there’s probably special rankings for those beyond the scope of Red, like All Might, but I’ve been focusing on the Rooftop Squad so...

Ranks are told through a metal bracelet on the left wrist. It need to placed over a scanner to enter places and people who own businesses can set the scanner on what ranks they allow in. There’s also a glowing strip of color going through the center of the bracelet showing the person’s rank color. It’s waterproof and very durable so it’s almost never removed unless there’s a rank change or it needs to be removed by a doctor. The ones on heroes are special because they also act as trackers and can measure the hero’s vitals. Ranking bracelets, though, can be faked and a lot of villains do this to get by in life without detection. Some people make good money supplying these fake bracelets.

So the conflict begins with the ranking tests, which marks the squad as the following: 

Shouta - Blue Rank due to the fact Erasure is only in effect as long as Shouta doesn’t blink and has his eyes on someone. 

Oboro - Yellow Rank after further quirk testing, which revealed his ability to make (unstable) storm clouds.

Hizashi - Red Rank upon being taken for further testing and being pushed to his limits. 

Nemuri - Yellow Rank due to the fact she sends people to sleep and that can cause dangerous situations and it does not wear off right away. 

For some backstory, Oboro, Hizashi and Nemuri all knew each other before UA and are very very close knit. Shouta’s the latest member to their little group after being pretty much dragged into the group by Hizashi and Oboro in their first year. At the point of the ranking tests Shouta and Hizashi are also dating, having gotten together at the end of their first year. 

That being said, Hizashi finds out really really quickly that his Red rank now dictates his life, where he can go and how he’s treated. He’s treated like a ticking timebomb basically. He first starts to realize this when a music store he used to go to to get CDs’s door won’t open for him. He keeps trying and eventually the owner tells him to leave. Also his training as a hero starts to become overwelmingly intensive and they expect so much more out of him than the other students ranked below him. 

Needless to say Hizashi is not happy whatsoever. Neither are Oboro and Nemuri. The three of them start to privately plan to leave UA entirely. They can’t support a system like this. 

Shouta, meanwhile, is in a different kind of situation. The ranking tests was another way for the Commission to stake out those with quirks that could be useful to them, and what could be more useful than a quirk that can turn off others? So, Shouta’s approached about a week after the tests by a Commission official (that gives off Umbridge vibes honestly) and she basically blackmails a 16 year old kid into signing a contract. Shouta’s mother in this is very ill, they’re going into debt for her hospital bills and she’s only receiving what she can afford as treatment. The Commission offers Shouta not only to pay his bills but to pay for the best possible treatment for his mother. Just, “You want to be a hero, don’t you? You can start by helping your mother.” And other things like that. He basically is blackmailed into signing on to be one of the Commission’s dogs...they own him after he puts that pen to paper. 

It happens super quickly, honestly. A bit after Shouta signs Hizashi and the others approach Shouta with their plan and ask him to run away with them. Shouta tries to tell them he can’t, but the minute he hesitates and says he can’t they never don’t give him the moment to explain why. So used to discrimination due to his rank now Hizashi impulsively assumes that it’s because he’s a Red Shouta doesn’t want to join them and effectively puts words in his boyfriend’s mouth. It’s a huge 3 vs 1 verbal fight and it ends with a rough break up and Shouta being basically left there in shock, and the trio disappearing about a week later. 

From there Shouta’s life quickly spirals into hell. The training is cruel and grueling. His handler (The Umbridge vibes lady) is awful and single handedly drives Shouta back into the closet. She starts to control his diet, how he dresses and how he presents himself. He’s thrust from being a future underground hero into being a future limelight hero. He learns how to fake a smile really really fast and starts outwardly acting like the modest and eager hero hopeful his handler wants him to be. She changes his hero outfit to have a bit more “appeal”, aka be a bit more skin tight and streamline, throws out his goggles and replaces them with a visor because “They were ugly” and makes him wear his rank color in his costume to flaunt it. Even has his hair cut because his hair is an “disgusting bird’s nest”. 

Shouta also keeps everyone at arms length due to what happened between him and the trio and also the very few times afterwards he gotten close enough to someone again to be honest with some things like his opinions on the ranking system (it’s stupid and illogical) and his sexuality, it got back to his handler and the punishment was harsh to say the least. Right now the only people he kind of considers friends are Tensei, Emi, Hawks and somewhat Fat Gum due to working together a bit. Also it doesn’t help that every time he gets into a conflict with one of the trio, who are now big time villains, they’re either quite cold or very harsh. 

Shouta is literally two steps from having a mental breakdown by the time it gets to the point where class 1-A’s a thing. 

Meanwhile, Hizashi, Oboro and Nemuri ran away from everything, surviving on the streets for a while before being picked up by a villain gang and being taken in by them, all getting fake ranking bracelets and beginning their careers as villains. They left that gang to strike it out as a villain trio once they were sure of themselves since they had a different goal. They aim to take down the commission and abolish the ranking system once and for all. They became known as Overcast, Reverb and Nightfall. 

Nemuri, being protective of her boys and especially Hizashi at this point, is honestly the most harsh to Shouta when they occasionally face off, meanwhile Oboro is cold but hits hard and Hizashi is just absolutely frigged. 

LOV does approach them but they do not join them...at least probably not at first.

Villain!Omega!Deku Part 4

USJ Arc and more background info.:

Izuku takes into great consideration who he has to take with him to USJ.  Izuku relies heavily on trust, loyalty, and family. He does not take just anyone with him on a mission.

He takes those with stealth-like quirks and places them into the different zones where he has them document the quirks of each student in their presence. Izuku does not care how detailed they are, because he will watch the UA Sports Festival, and further add to them.

He places the safety of his “family” as a priority over anything here.

He places those whose quirks best fit the zones (around 10 per zone).

He places about 30 in the middle, these individuals have different quirks and are some of those of which he holds great trust in.

He takes a Nomu with him, but not the same Nomu with the augmentation quirk. Instead, this Nomu is one of surveillance (the flying Nomu). It has a camera attached to it that sends a live feed to an untraceable backdoor to Izuku’s computer, thanks to La Brava.

In this AU Gentle Criminal and La Brava work with the League of Villains in terms of street/online surveillance.

Here Twice is already part of LoV, and Izuku is the only one who has some sense of control over his dissociative identity disorder. But his personality and sense of identity will still have the need for Toga. Twice stays by Izuku’s side and only creates clones of those whose quirks Izuku believes will help their situation.

Izuku heavily believes that he needs to protect the identity of each of his family members unless they say otherwise, so they each wear masks, that signify the squad they belong to in LoV. Here is the order, Violet (Front-line), Black (Strategy), Carmine (Intelligence/Surveillance), Brown (Support), and Yellow (Experimentation/Scientists).

Kurogiri is part of the Intelligence and Surveillance squad.

Izuku and the UA students during USJ:

Izuku doesn’t have a lot of interactions with them other than Bakugou, Todoroki, and Kirishima.

Izuku attacks USJ knowing that there will be a class held there, but he was unsure as to which class and which homeroom teachers, but he took into precaution of either Vlad or Eraser when he chose who would accompany him.

Izuku does this to figure out what the security of UA could be like, and create a backdoor for La Brava to enter into the school’s security system later on.

Izuku was not aware that All Might would be part of the class until the hero arrived. Izuku could tell that with the individuals, including the Nomu, he brought with him none could win a fight against the number one hero.

Izuku ordered a full retreat for all members, he had immediately asked Kurogiri to begin extraction of all members, and for Twice to create clones of those with augmentation quirks to distract All Might and the hero DK (Shimura Tenko) and the other heroes who arrived as backup.

Izuku was too busy with paying attention to All Might’s and the other heroes’ movements that he paid no attention to the three male students who were coming from the side and two other students who helped Eraserhead fight off the other clones.

He didn’t realize how close Bakugou, Kirishima, and Todoroki were until they had knocked down the Nomu that was hovering above Izuku. There the Nomu fell at Izuku’s feet with the tips of its wings burned, from an explosion it seemed.

Izuku looked from the Nomu to where the sound of explosion had come from to see the three male students he had been ignoring. He immediately recognized that the one who caused the explosion was his former childhood friend, Katsuki. 

Behind his respirator, Izuku smiled at seeing the wannabe hero, and he laughed. 

This is where Izuku would begin to taunt him, calling him a bully, reminding him of Midoriya Izuku, the boy he had bullied for being quirkless. 

Bakugou, yelled at him, asking how he knew that name, all Izuku did was laugh in response. “I wonder...”

Using his Reverse quirk, Izuku saw that the one with an ice based quirk was shivering and had steam coming off him, with a small hint flame. Izuku became ticked. He yelled angrily at the hero wannabe, yelling at him to use his full quirk against him and his family before he takes it away from him. 

With All Might coming closer to him and the Nomu not equipped with any augmentation quirks, he could only wait as Kurogiri had finished with the extraction of his family to finally leave this forsaken school. 

All Might kept asking him of what his plans were as the clones that Twice had created were being beaten by the number one hero. “You don’t need to know hero.”

As Kurogiri appeared, and Twice and the Nomu had passed through, Izuku left the group a short speech that shook their core. “Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of Midoriya Izuku, Kacchan, we’ll make sure to turn him into a villain, and not the hero he wanted to be. And All Might, we won’t kill you just yet, we want you to go through the same situation we all have, we want you to watch as the world you claim to protect and love crumble to pieces before your very eyes.”

Izuku is five years old the first time he's saved by heroes. He's an instant fan of the woman in pink with her cheerful smile and the man with his ice powers and fine-boned features, even if they both refuse to tell him their names.

For most of his life, Izuku has been the centre of villain attacks, but he has never been injured. Every time, he's saved by bright, unknown heroes—heroes who smile at Izuku, and ruffle his hair or ply him with hugs, and seem mesmerised by how small he is.

Heroes that the rest of the world doesn't believe exists.

Opinion: Honestly, it’s really pure and heartwarming with a side of angst. Seeing a young Izuku fanboy is adorable and from what I remember it's pretty well written. I honestly really love this one.

It's pretty easy for everyone to overlook Yagi Toshinori, All Might's 'quirkless secretary'. But he's still there.

Opinion: I really love Dadmight. Like I really love Dadmight so I may be a bit bias. It diverts a bit from canon, but I was alright with that. It’s wholesome, cute, and Toshi deserves some love

Shinsou Hitoshi had a bit of a problem, and that problem was that he’d gotten attached to Aizawa Shouta. And somewhere along the line had started seeing him as a parental figure, a replacement for all the foster home parents who’d passed him along and never quite done their job.

A kid who's been in foster care his entire life spends a normal, average day after training with the teacher who seems to care a little too much.

Opinion: I have found myself revisiting this fic thrice already lol. Honestly, the first chapter is my favorite and well written--as are the other chapters. I love the melodic and somber atmosphere of some of the scenes and it really feels so sweet but hits me in the feels. The EraserMic in here is beautiful and great Dadzawa.

There is something that bothers him a bit though: Hana seems—oddly familiar.

Opinion: I love this one a whole lot. The concept is interesting and executed really well. I really love the characterization of the characters and you get some great internal dialogue and inside thoughts. While I do think the story goes a bit fast, I really enjoyed and understand there’s a lot to tell in ten chapters.

All Ochako Uraraka wants to do is be a hero, so when she stumbles across the former villain with a baby, she can't help but worry. With Shigaraki clueless, Uraraka decides to do her best to help. What starts out as a chance meeting between two old enemies turns into something else as they find themselves in a strange predicament and more people get involved. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Sometimes, it's a handful of mostly reformed villains and the heroes they tried to kill when they were teens.

Opinion: Alright, before you dismiss this one, hear me out:  Tomura/Ochako really works in this fic. This fic has become one of my favorites because of how its written, characterization, and Tomura’s child--because I’m a sucker for wholesome parent and child content. I honestly really love this fic and had a lot of emotions throughout.

Shouta considers. He’s unarmed, facing an unknown person who knows his home address and his first name, he hasn’t slept in thirty-six hours, and he’s wearing kitten-patterned pajama pants. Despite all of that, he’s still confident in his ability to handle himself in a fight, but nothing about this situation is making sense, and it’s sending him slightly off-kilter.

Starting with how the shadow man knows his name.

“Maybe,” he says, after his silence has dragged on a beat too long. “Who’s asking.”

Opinion: It’s a one-shot, but a heckin good one at that. The tone of this fic is so gentle and quiet. Also, Kurogiri characterization is great. I’m absolutely craving more.

Opinion: I really like this fic. I really love young Dabi. It’s been a while since I’ve read, but I really love this one.

Opinion: If you haven’t noticed, I really like Dadzawa. This one is super interesting, written really good, and I love the characterization of Shinsou. Like some chapters had me rioting I thought they were so good. I love the alternating moods ins scenes and I feel that I can really feel the atmosphere--if that makes sense lol.

That was the worst part of all, that a child would act like an experienced soldier in the face of danger. "If you stop now, I won't report you. You can just go on home to your family, and maybe try to be a hero-"

A laugh cut him off, but it was more sad than condescending. "Mr. Trash Bag, I'm doing all I can to get home. But like hell I'll be a hero. I've been used by the government too much." A slight European accent colored his words, and his Japanese was a little hesitant, but the determination was clear. "I have to admit, though, your quirk is really awesome. The ability to stop others' energies... remarkable."

The boy tensed, and Shouta activated his quirk on reflex.

"Too bad it doesn't work on me, then. Can't erase what you don't have, after all!"

Opinion: I had this before BUT HEAR ME OUT! This fic is absolutely amazing. I was blown away with the characterization of Enji and I know so many people hate him-- I included--but I think his perspective is interesting. The high emotional scenes really had me feeling. Opinion: It hasn’t been updated for a while, but seeing my two favorite cinnamon rolls together melts my heart. Mob is in the hero course but has the moral dilemma of fighting, and honestly, it is so interesting to see how it’s handled.

I wanna say thank you for sending me this ask! I've been looking forward to answering it & finally found time to gather my thoughts. I've never actually read a Bnha villain au fic before, so I don't know much about the fanon theories. I'm only going to do a few of the kiddos. Plz excuse my horrible writing & if the format is wonky, I am definitely Not a writer.

Izuku - If he never gained Ofa and remained quirkless, I think all of the bullying/abuse from Bakugou, plus All Might's remark that he can't be a hero w/o a quirk, would send his mind down a dark path. He'd be majorly depressed and prob bitter. I can see him becoming a vigilante, then maybe a chance encounter with Bakugou interning on the streets might trigger his negative emotions to explode, making them fight and for society to label him as a villain for it. Or he could encounter Stain, become inspired and eventually join the Lov.

How would Izuku become a villain after gaining Ofa? I can see Afo kidnapping and brainwashing/breaking him. Or if his mom were to be killed by a hero, accidentally or not. It would have to be some event that would make him lose hope and his trust in heroes, even with his massive support group of classmates and teachers.

Shouto - I can easily see him turning sides if Endeavor had killed Rei. Or if his grudge against Endeavor became more intense than his dream to be a hero. That plus him coming to the conclusion that the Hero Commission (HC) is corrupt if they allow heroes like Endeavor to remain active, or wondering why the HC never found out about Endeavor's abuse. Btw you'd think that the HC would keep up with the heroes' families to offer support and protection, like a family plan or something. Also, if heroes are basically celebrities wouldn't the media be all over their family life? In my opinion I bet the HC did recieve news/suspected of the abuse going on in the Todoroki household, but let it happen to keep their #2.

Uraraka - I think her main reason to turn villain would be if her family's financial situation got worse. Idk how she's able to afford UA's tuition now unless her parent's took out a loan.

Tokoyami, Mina, Shouji, maybe Kouda - I think discrimination against their mutant looks, similar to Spinner, and a lack of support due to that discrimination/probable bullying would make these four turn villain. Kouda's quirk would make him a terrifying villain.

Bakugou - The media has already painted him as villainous in attitude, so it would be easy to make society turn against him. Bakugou was really emotionally vulnerable at the beginning of Bnha, so I think that the blow of Izuku winning against him, being faulted/feeling guilty for getting captured & for All Might's retirement would all pile up in his mind and make him hate himself, which he'd prob express with being more aggressive toward others/the media. He might also start to isolate himself cuz of that, trying to prove that he's still strong w/o anyone else's help, left alone with his negative thoughts. Together the self imposed isolation, depression and resentment, and eventual rejection from society for not being more hero like could break him down and make him descend towards villainy.

(Dabi anon again (hellos)) I feel that at first Izu would be critical if we consider Bk, AM, and all the heros during the sludge villian event but eventually he'll mellow out bcuz of his own quirklessness which'll let him see that you cant just yeet logic out the window tho he'd still be pissed cuz of how some heros dont even try. That or it'll go the other direction and he'd be critical af cuz they have quirks and he doesn't yet he's the only one that did anything (1/3)

most likely itd be combination of these? And it'll swing depending on the hero and bais. Yes he'd definitely have standards tho for those who dont hold up I feel like thatd depends, the circumstances would be taken into consideration since Izu isn't as single minded as Stain (cuz of personal experiences, he's still pretty head set it just depends). Yee smol bean, he'd end up focusing on being fast and stealth but if he ended up joining the lead he'd probably bulk up a lil bit more. (2/3)

Parallel wise, yeah Dabs would most likely be a Todoroki (+ its fannon soo,, self-indulgent, this au is self-indulgent and you have made me want to make it into a whole au thx for that). If Izu joined Lov then definitely, no way avoiding it. If he didnt join the chances of them runnin into eachother depend- Izu could attempt to track Dabi down cuz he was diggin up info, cuz of Giran making him curious, bcuz of their similar beliefs, or they could never meet for more than a simple passing. I agree that it would be a little bit of both. Like maybe at first, he would be really upset at the fact none of the heroes stepped in to fight the sludge villain and he got reprimanded for it. BUT after thinking it over he would understand like okay fine, maybe it wasn’t that smart to go butt first into the fight. But he was just trying to help. Give the kid some credit. So I honestly would NOT blame him one bit for feeling both ways. 

I like that he gets to keep his logical, analytical brain because Stain meant...well, but he went about it in the worst possible way (killing heroes) to prove his point. Izuku would at least evaluate an individual hero and then see if they are truly being heroic or if they are just in it for a false persona. I love smol bean Izuku *cries*. But Izuku bulking up to join the League would also make sense so that way he can like keep up with fights and stuff. I would imagine he’d dress the way he normally does, which  looks kinda baggy and even hides his build, which would probably be really smart of him so that way people don’t assume his dangerous (and it also helps that he has a baby face so he doesn’t look intimidating...until he starts fighting and that’s when heroes are like Oh I’ve committed a Mistake). 

Ah! So the circumstances would depend on them meeting then. I like the idea of them meeting! I’ve seen comics of their dynamic (I forget the artist’s name rip), and it’s an interesting relationship, bros with Toga and Shiggy. But I would imagine in this situation, it wouldn’t be so so uhh tight knit, but rather the way it is now with the League, where they become family as time passes on and they stick together. Maybe Izuku could go with Dabi to search for potential members? But it’s also interesting to think about Izuku searching for him because Giran sparked his interest. And even more interesting is if they don’t meet and they pass by each other, but then Izuku hears about this blue fire quirk user on the news and he’s like HMMMMM cool. It depends on how you treat fate for them. (And!!! It makes me happy to know you are getting inspiration to make this into an au!!!! That’s great!!!! HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY MAMA MIGHT AU.

In this AU, Inko inherits One for All. At least, that was the idea that kicked everything else into motion. Cause also in this AU, she married Yagi Toshinori as well and had Izuku still. Her hero name is Vim, her fake civilian name is Haruna Samura.

Why does she have a fake civilian name? To hide her true identity and connections to her husband and son, the latter in which she hasn’t seen since he was 3 years old due to popularity and national need increasing. Due to this, she has no idea how her son looks like now as a teenager. Inko and Yagi keep a minimum amount of contact between each other. Which, to follow up with, he became a police officer and is still quirkless in this AU.

As anyone knows, her using this separation is to protect her small family from the dangers of her being the number one hero. When Deku reaches a certain age, he has questions but papa Yagi doesn’t have all the answers.. His hesitation in some answers causes their son to have doubts as he grows up. But yknow, all their safety precautions end up going out the window cause we know Deku. He’s a huge fan of the superhero Vim, and a similar scenario to the anime plays out. Inko has a soft spot for this mega fan that happens to be quirkless, especially due to being reminded of her husband.

(Btw the way Deku’s and Inko’s irises are colored are as they would be styled in the anime)

So some side information, the Toshinori family is still sent support money from Inko under her real name. A sort of “Government has it handled” thing. Also while Yagi is on duty and working, he tends to ask one of the neighborhood parents if they could babysit Izuku. More often than not, Mitsuki Bakugo is the one who takes it up.. Thus changing the dynamic between Katsuki and Izuku to almost like begrudging brothers.

Inko doesn’t figure out Deku’s name until the entrance exam. She panics, a hella lot but doesn’t tell him. Later when the results have been decided but not sent out, she does call Yagi. But like its her apologizing profusely, saying she didn’t know etc since he knows how she came to have One for All. And now their boy has inherited it.

Deku doesn’t find out until the U.A. dorms are becoming a thing, as Inko wanted to talk to Yagi one on one about it, face to face finally. Everything really. But when Izuku opens the door, and Yagi sees her.. Well he was expecting Aizawa, not her. Her name slips out from him, a meek and uncertain waver of...

“Inko...” “What? Dad? No, this is Haruna Samura, yknow.. Vim. The superhero we’re a big fan of--- Vim! W-Why are you  crying?! Dad, you too?!!”

A whole mess of a situation unfolds, so instead of Yagi and Inko having an argument/debate about dorms... There’s Izuku being upset with the both of them for not trusting to tell him about who his real mother was this whole time. Which, by the by, Deku has insecurities about himself still embed from believing his mom left because he was quirkless.

Another info so far: Enji is a stay at home dad, and Rei is the number 2 hero instead.. As Lady Winter, so their roles have been swapped as well. Not everyone in this AU is swapped, just a few... Which is why I named it the Mama Might AU instead of just _____ Swap AU. Shoto Todoroki mains with fire instead of ice, being more offensive instead of defensive in maneuvers.

Katsuki and Izuku had a falling out at the end of their middle school years that has caused an awkward air...  So the former has decided to keep up his rough and rude and proud persona even around the latter.

Fanon as canon

That’s not a message to antis (fuck them) but massage to pro-shippers. In our fandom we have some weird shit that we all agreed is canon? Its all because bakudeku started as enemies..? rivals? definetly not friends? Because Bakugo told Deku to go to kill himself.

That was a first episode; we didn’t know a shit except we need to protect Izuku at all costs bc he’s so adorable and just need protection. But then there is started some weird west shit where people completly ignoring what’s going on on the screen cuz no one noticed Izuku’s reaction on these words.

Well, you see, I came in fandom after wonderful villain!deku au’s and now i think its the dumbest thing fandom ever made so i was low-key shipping bakudeku. And one of the reasons why i started to watch this show was ‘cuz I wanted to see how really abusive this ship is. I wanted a proof. For my favorite kind fo AU and for my probably OTP.

Was it just me or Izuku’s first reaction was a desire to say “well fuck you too”???

Was he upset? Obviously, his notebook was thrown into window. But what else? He was angry. He wasn’t scared before Katsuki glared at him. He wasn’t crying (his usual reaction at everything). After that, he just said that Katchan was stupid to say that.

That was the moment when villain!deku died to me. But so did a big part of bakudeku fandom cuz they are so good people who can’t do anything wrong so when they do, they need to apologise и этот момент во всех фанфиках написан как по методичке And so need Bakugo BECAUSE HE BULLIED MIDORIYA FOR TEN YEARS or something like that apparently (funny thing but i figured that russian just doesn’t have an equal translation; well we have a lot of childish nouns and a lot of verbs so we can translate ‘he was bullied’ but we can’t translate ‘that guy is bully’ without it sounded stupid and childish THE FUNNIER THING: the closiest that i heard used is ‘provoker’ :D i just found that very hillarious dontmindme)

Well, the question is: was Midoriya really get bullied? I saw enough animes to think it was not the case. Or it was nothing really serious and just words. And look me in the eyes and tell me that this guy gave fuck about what people told him. Especially in middle school. He was one with his dreams against the world, even against his own mother (and i need to write another post why i hate Inko Midoriya and probably why I’ll never be accepted in your world of saints). He was quirkless and people laughed at his dreams. His mother didn’t believe in him. But Katsuki? He just wanted get rid of him.

Big bad Katsuki, right? Because you never ever in your lives met people who you thought was weird, who made you feel weird. That could be your friends sometimes or your friend’s friend or just that one classmate - you have never been in such a situation, right? I’m not saying his actions are fine - nah, he was an asshole kid, but i can understand why. Actually, if you read manga, it was said literally: Katsuki doesn’t see a problem in a bit of violence. He was raised that way, he’s angry kid, with not so family-friendly quirk (probably). But he knows when to step back, he follows rules, he’s a good student and he wouldn’t let his ‘friends’ smoke nearby bc he doesn’t want to get into trouble. His dreams (plans) are too big, he works so hard for them to happen. He might be an asshole but he’s responsible asshole за то и любим

So, some stupid kid who thinks he’s better then Katsuki (btw go rewatch their first fight but without this ‘we need to protect Deku’ bullshit in your mind and listen to their dialog - it’s a gold of comedy misunderstandings honestly) that kid thinks that he’s, being a loser (he WAS loser, smart ofc but still yeah it’s not good call him that but ffs), quirkless, can achive something for what Katsuki worked so hard. Most of you would’ve hate this kid too, don’t lie to yourselves.

But would he risk his dreams to hurt him?

Yeah, there’re moments from times when they were what? four? that frame where ‘he became bad after he got his quirk’? i honestly think it was a plothole but just imho :D Asshole violent little brat but i really would’ve love to know the whole story bc wtf. It’s probably my problem after being here too long so i automatically looking for bad things and it’s not like kids never fight. I don’t believe it was something drastically and IT IS the most drastic thing that i found in their history.

And after all... intresting point: Deku still thinks that Katsuki is amazing (even when he’s an asshole) and don’t you fucking dare call him a masochist ‘cuz he’s not. He would fight him.

He wanted to fight him when Katchan said that stupid thing (that you all so love to overthink). He fought him when they were little. He fought him in villain vs heroes lesson without that much of a second thought. Yeah, he’s nervous around him at first bc Katsuki is loud and literally explosive and yeah, from that all you can think he’s scared of him, but is he? Izuku is nervous kid in general. He always was just a nobody for his classmates and it’s not like he was naturally talanted at anything (quite opposite) and his only parental figure is Inko (she’s wonderful woman, okay? but not the greatest mother and also nervous wreck). It was his first days in UA, Class 1-A was just introduced, we didn’t know anybody, and it’s some new test already - ofc he would be nervious.

So, anyway, if Katsuki didn’t abuse him physically, he obviously did that emotionally bc... we need a scape goat and we already hate Bakugo and he told Izuku to kill himself so that’s enough. Or bc he’s the only guy from Izuku’s chilhood who’s name we know, so we can blame him - he’s important to story, right? probably bc every story need an almost-villain so we can hate him altogether. Or maybe bc it was not Bakugo, but a whole atmosphere: his classmates, teachers, his ‘I’m sorry, I’m so sorry’ mother. First of all, probably genes.

Second of all, ask yourself a question: can one stupid Izuku’s words Bakugo Katsuki break Midoriya Izuku? To the point where we call that’s a trauma, where Katsuki’s usual harsh vocabulary becomes a crime, where we write suicidal fanfics and they don’t sound stupid?

Except they does because Izuku isn’t suicidal, not even fucking close. He doesn’t have a trauma. He is just a nervous kid and - actually - he isn’t fucking weak (strong in spirit or smth like that). Funny thing: when i first watch their exam right before summer camp arc, when they started talking that great speak about impassable wall, I actually thought that can be said about Izuku :D He’s not easy to break and he easily ignores people’s opinions when he needs.  He’s self-destractive, not suicidal. Different things, guys. I’m pretty sure even if he did thought about that ‘way out’, he never made this an option. Yeah, you actually can seriosly consider this as your ‘way out’ and then think that nope, not for you.

So, after all this FUCKING TEXT WALL OMYGOD, let’s get back to the point that I didn’t even stated in first place.

Why Katsuki need to apologise? 

I’m sure at some point Katsuki hated Deku (bc Deku looked down at him whatever it was or wasn’t thruth - for Katsuki it was) and at some point Deku couldn’t leave him alone. He called him names (name ‘Deku’ was made before Deku happened to be quirkless, some people forget about that), but so did everyone and don’t make Katsuki the most evil one - unlike most, he had reasons and he’s an angry kid and Izuku was a bad guy in Katsuki’s story who wanted to destroy him while hiding behind his innocence smile - what a fucking story with a plot-twist it could’ve been, if it was Katsuki’s POV- 

Katsuki didn’t ruin Izuku’s life, not even close. You can say, he ruined his childhood, but I would risk to say that was mutual (Greetings, Inferiority Complex!). Really, can I start to say that Izuku need to apologise to Katsuki bc he didn’t even try to understant his friend?

So, Bakugo is a bully bc we never saw an angry teenager and bc Izuku is innocent and it’s just them two in the world and Izuku is the only one who was hurt no, really, no jokes here, I think Katsuki is a lot more emotionally damaged then Izuku ever was and because we have a really dumb headcanons that we forgot were just our thought ебаное слово, вечно забываю как пишется and interpretations.

So we agreed that Katsuki beat Izuku bc he was quirkless and helpless (seems like EXACTLY THE REASON WHY HE WOULD DO THIS R I G H T) and called him names (definitely not bc he felt threatened by someone who’s supposed to be just a nobody).

Okay, that sounds bad so I rephrase it:

Why Katsuki should apologise to someone who he saw as a threat when he for so much reasons shouldn’t?

Not so simple anymore, hah?

Can sound dumb but ambivalent feelings is a thing. And that’s the only reason I can find to explain why Katsuki was the only one of the whole class who didn’t laughed when they’ve been told Deku’s trying get into UA. Because shitty nerd had a chance? Because shitty nerd thought that he stand the same ground as Bakugo and it wasn’t funny anymore? Because stop looking down at me?

Bakugo Katsuki is the best fucking character I’ve ever met. He’s so real. So complex.

And when you picture him as a bully or just a bad guy or abusive, you’re killing him as a character. I don’t like saying that 16y.o. are just kids, but he is AND he’s trying his best. He doesn’t understand all things and he has never met a proper rivals before and he’s definitely not a social person (and nope, you can’t change a character so deal with it and learn to see through this). And let him learn.

He may or may not look back one day and see what a little piece of shit he was, but I don’t think he would say something. He’s a man of action after all.

And I definitely think that would be unnecessary and would look forced bc Izuku doesn’t need this. Izuku isn’t a victim, and when you picture him as one, you’re killing him as a character.

You have headcanons - good. You figured them in a way to fill a gap in the story - great. But for the love of characters, don’t fucking pretend them to be a canon.

But really, is it just me or does first chapter look weird? It’s fctually just funny how so many people seems stuck in FIRST CHAPTER when we are close to second hundred. I’m not saying ‘heeeey character development’. I’m asking: is first chapter a really good reason to make assumptions?

most everyone has a spirit but not everyone, people have not always had guardian spirits, i do know how quirks started, quirkless people have spirits, they don’t have quirks because their bodies have not adapted to channel their spirit’s energy adequately, and izuku can try something with unlocking quirks, but it depends on what there is to work with already. quirk cancelling bullets rewind the bond between spirit and human but they don’t erase the adaptations to the body. quirkless people dont have that adaptation in the first place... hope that makes sense

intonations aren’t a new language, just a manner of speaking, where the fourth intonation takes the most energy and the first intonation (normal speech) takes the least. effectively, izuku and all the spirits are speaking japanese, but the intonation they speak in will take their words to a different energy level. if that makes sense. so, no, ‘carwash’ would not show up in the middle of a sentence

yes, spirits are basically bound by proximity! they can leave their charges behind and go gallivanting to another continent but it’s Not A Good Idea for a few reasons and becomes very unpractical. they can travel pretty far from their charges if the necessity arises, though.

TODODEKU MANIA

Because I’m a Tododeku maniac who can’t stop gushing about this beautiful, wonderful pairing aside from otayuri, it is my civic duty (and because someone out there *coughs*wintermoon*coughs* needs to sleep; aka me lol jk but seriously) to share and spread the love of Tododeku fanfics. At least some since there’s 99 fics in my bookmarks hahahaha

1. Someday, I'm sure, our hands will reach the far-off sun series by MadamRed (WIP) | Beautiful short pieces!! Even lyrical and fluid passages, it’s nice to tuck in to bed and snuggle into the covers with some warm, fluffy (and possible angsty) fics such as these. (Note: That haircut needs to be canon. Period.)

2.  I Want Some Coffee with a Kiss, Please series by AvaRose (WIP) | ANOTHER FLUFF EXPLOSION. Coffee AU, need I say more? Yes! Fluff fluff more fluff and wonderful writing style that delivers pining and fluff to the maximum!!

3. Amaryllis by Greenerscreams | Hanaki AU. Hanaki AU as in vomiting flowers over unrequited love. unrequited feelings as in angst, angst, angst. This has a happy ending, though, so you’ll probably cry in happiness at the end.

4. count your blessings, not your flaws by PitViperOfDoom | MISCOMMUNICATION EVERYWHERE. It’s written so well, so much, that I cry whenever I read this. It’s gradually, achingly, heartbreaking, but at the end of it all... just read it, it’s really good!! In a way it’s because it’s relatable, and because the way they wrote Izuku-kun and Shouto-kun’s perspectives of the matter are meticulous and every single word used counts. Really builds up the image of the story.

5. centered on you by celestialfics  | If you like humorous and vivid images of Izuku blushing and bumbling in a dancing class, here you go! Enjoy yourselves as this beautiful Deku tries to waltz.

6. a drop of ink may make a million think by pellucidpilgrim | Pining! More pining hahaha with sleep deprived Izuku writing a poem (btw, the poem is written by the author themselves!! It’s really good, I swear) and Shouto-kun tucking his roommate and singing him to sleep. It’s beautiful and precious GO READ THIS.

7.  Send Endeavor to the Shadow Realm series by PitViperOfDoom | Featuring Deku roasting Endeavor behind his back and being good friends (and boyfriend) with Shouto-kun. I feel like this is recommended by a lot so dive in and read!!!!

8. Standing Locust, Forward Fold by mousapelli | Cute adorkable idiots who still pine from the distance are being set up by the wonderful friends! It’s cute and fluffy and funny all in one!

9. Subscapula by mousapelli  |Three years into Biology, and words like subscapula are written in my cardiac muscles. Here’s a Masseuse!Deku and an injured Shouto-kun falling for Deku’s smooth smooth words and soothing hands. mhmm.

10. He was dumb enough to die on him by mmok | Reincarnation AU. Deku dies and Shouto cries. Deku reborns and there’s more angst, more tears, and more angst. Not exactly for sleepy time, but it can be (just that there’s a lot more to gush about this but I’m a bit sleep deprived hahaha). The author did a great job in manipulating this concept into a wonderful work of art (and a great job for bringing me to tears for every single chapter). Character development is well done and is scenes for each chapter are well detailed and well paced. I’d love to read it again (and cry about it for the nth time hahaha).

11. Inconsequential by FlowerPrints (WIP) | MY FAVORITE AU.  See that bold font? yea, it’s my ultimate favorite AU. Meet cute with Quirkless!Deku and a Curious!Todoroki at a train station. I’ve bookmarked this the minute I finished the first chapter because it’s beautiful and awesome and AH! The pacing’s well done too. There’s nothing quick about this. There’s this step by step process coming along with the developing friendship between Deku and Todoroki and I’m excited for more chapters~!

12. Wait Time by InsomniacArrest (WIP) | Interesting AU. There are still people who do have quirks but are not handled through a hero/villain universe, but are handled through suppressors. Mostly the setting is situated in a hospital and Deku, who is quirkless, works as an intern under Yagi Toshinori (All Might), a VIP in the hospital. He meets a grumpy kid who sits by the corner named Shouto, who apparently flirts in the most awkward way possible. His backstory hasn’t been fully covered yet and it’s still at its sixth, but it’s good. It’s reaaal good.

There’s probably more to tackle but I’ll place the others on a second part.

yep, you got it! normally izuku is able to keep his presence from overtly affecting the electronics around him but scripting really starts messing with them.

haha no he was just so exhausted he passed out for 12 hours. he hasn’t had a good nights sleep in weeks, as soon as all [gestures at ch2] this was over he just crashed

The only issue with the theory I see is OFA not awakening latent quirks with it's energy jumpstart...
