Week 4 - Planning the Production

Thinking through how I’m going to tackle the objective of producing my film was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I think most of the difficulty came from figuring out how long it would take me to draw the whole thing because that means that I needed to make revisions to my animatic according to the feedback I received last week. And that was truly the most time consuming thing. I had to figure out the simplest way to draw the actions I was trying to convey while going through all of my panels again to figure out which areas needed improvement. 

Once I fixed the timing on the animatic, then I could finally get to labeling every sequence and shot and using it that to plan out when I would work on which part and how long it would take me to work on it. After planning everything, I decided to play around with the colors for my animatic and came out with the bottom two pictures shown above. They show a basic representation of the lighting that I am going for throughout the film. The cinderblock prison room is supposed to be super dark where things are almost indiscernible except for the character and their actions and the outside is supposed to be covered in the golden sunlight since the sun is “setting”. The coloring may look slightly different when I am actually doing the production, but this is the overall look I am going for.
