graphic by me. nothing too spectacular. still thinking if i should finish this piece or edit a gif instead. who knows.

i know i promised not to entertain another wip AFTER tonight i can write (the saddest lines) cos i needed to finish updating my existing fics first but i couldn't help myself. i needed to write this first so here is my next wip which will probably be finished after a few weeks inspired by red riding hood - so not going into specifics, but here's a lil snippet. enjoy.

The local farmers, bakers, craftsmen, and blacksmiths bustled about in the early morning. Peasants and serfs traded and sold their goods while others bought whatever they can with little money they were given.

A young man swept across the gravel path, a golden cloak sat high upon his broad shoulders garnering the attention of all present in the market. They did not tremble in the presence of the nobleman. Kol Mikaelson often visited the market in search of his dear friend.

“Little Red Riding Hood!” He called out, cupping his mouth to better increase the volume of his voice. A knight trailed behind him, on the lookout for a red hood in the crowd. Kol tried once more, “Red Riding Hood! Elena! I know you’re here, darling! Come out, come out wherever you are!”

An aggrieved tone growled to his left, “Do shut up, Kol.”

He smirked, catching the ball of her shoulder to steer her away from the noise. “What crawled in your cot and died, dear?”

The disgruntled young woman draped in a hood the color of blood shook off his arm, “You should know.”

“Know what?” He batted his eyelashes innocently.

Elena narrowed her eyes, a long tirade breaching the tip of her tongue when the tavern door swung open accidentally hitting the side of Kol’s face. The knight, the girl, and the traveller witnessed as the young man’s face plunged directly into horse manure.

FE 67 Preview

She drags him into her bedroom and slams the door.

Klaus watches her with a dark, glittering eyes. Wolf’s eyes. “Has Kol bothered you again?”

“How could you do it?”

Casually, he throws himself down onto her bed and takes a deep, lazy breath. “You seem piqued. When was the last time my sister fucked you?”

She can’t say what comes over her, then.

One moment she is stock still, staring at him hard enough to make her temples throb as a thousand blood-soaked revenges bloom across her thoughts.

The next, she has launched herself at him. Sensations flash through her. Her knees pressed to either side of his hips, looming over him. The satisfaction of slapping him as hard as she can across that stupid cruel beautiful face of his. Of punching him across the jaw, the shoulder, of feeling her flesh connect with his. The blood bond leaping and frothing with each point of contact, a storm of crashing waves that beats ceaselessly against her senses.

Klaus yields her no reaction whatsoever. Only watches her, as unmoved and unmovable as a mountain. As unknowable as its summit.

Her fury collapses into despair.

She cannot win against him like this. She can only lose herself.

Even now, her hands throb. Rivulets of her own blood ooze slowly onto Klaus’s skin, mixing with the crimson film already covering him.

A moment later, it’s her tears that drip onto his bare skin.

This, finally, stirs some reaction from him.

After the Fire, But Before the Flood by @livlepretre

Fairytale Ending is pretty well known already by this writer so I wont' recommend that (even though I'm absolutely recommending that). Fairytale Ending is to The Shining as After the Fire But Before the Flood is to The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in my mind (makes sense if you are also a Stephen King fan). Everyone knows the former and I also think the latter deserves more love.

After the Fire is stripped bare and raw look into how Klaus and Elena's relationship would unfold in a last man standing situation and how it evolves (or devolves) into this gloriously symbiotic relationship in a post-apocalyptic world.

All Your Closets of Backlogged Dreams by IJustWoundYou

An inventive combination of canon story and string theory, seeing the doppelganger universe expanded beyond borders of space and time. What really shines to me in this story is how the writer deepens Elena's relationship not only with herself but with the women who came before her. Being such an introspective character already, that really stands out here.

A beautifully atmospheric gothic tale of a twisted romance that takes place during the early 1900s. Full of intrigue, shock, and horror. The writer really excels at conveying tone and mood and staying within the confines of the setting. In the 1900s, a touch is a scandal and the pace of that really churns into a momentum that makes you nervous and excited for what the characters will get up to in the modern world.

And the one I've written for Klena that I'm most proud of....Throne of Blood. The planning and intention of it all. That people can see the delineation between what I've come to consider as "seasons" for the fic really pleases me.

Idea I probably won't write:

AU of The last voyage of the Demeter/TVD, Elena is the 2nd doppelganger, not Katherine, Klaus and his siblings no nothing about Klaus's curse or about doppelgangers yet.

She is a stowaway on board the ship they take to America.

She finds the coffins, she undaggers Finn and Kol. Why? Idk, she is curious about why Klaus/Elijah/Rebekah keep an eye on them so intently, and she thinks it's odd for supposedly dead bodies to have daggers in them. Possibly she thinks the coffins contain something other than dead bodies, bc she can tell the Originals are rich. At some point she's also aware that people on the ship are going missing.

She ends up being the last person alive ala The last voyage of the Demeter.

Obviously they find her, and are surprised about her looking like Tatia.

She has to fight to stay alive, mostly bc they are starving.

Klaus and Elijah of course find themselves falling in love with her, while playing cat and mouse with her too.

Finn may or may not play a roll in trying to save her. He may be just hungry too. Of course, he also develops feelings bc she undaggered him and bc he's my bae.

This person-- mikaelsonsblood-- is a repeat plagiarist. They have plagiarized me before, as well as several other klena writers. In this case, they are copy and pasting (The Stars Were Brightly Shining) word for word and trying to pass it off as their own. To add insult to injury, they muted me from the last time I caught them so as to try to fly under the radar.

If you or anyone reading this write for klena, or hosie, or if you write drarry or douchifer, I highly recommend checking their page and making sure your work has not been plagiarized. Here is the link to their "published works."

This is an extremely frustrating situation for me. As all of you who follow me here know, I have precious little free time to devote to fandom as it is-- I WANT to be using that free time to write fics and answer your kind messages, not track down story stealers. This directly takes away from my ability to update, and it also is just incredibly upsetting and infuriating on top of all of that.

Chapter 3 - Sweet Fix of a Daydream

Whisking away his wife from the party left it in a satisfying chorus of heckles. It’s not enough that he took her from them, but he thoroughly enjoyed the notion that it cut the rest of them somehow.

She didn’t say much when they arrive to the looming dark halls of his estate. Not of the imposing size or the grand design of it all. Guided her through a brief tour in silence. She didn’t seem interested in anything except the library. A stately collection with high ceilings, enough to accommodate a twisting candelabra. Her fingers brushed against his heavy oak furniture and he never before wished more to be a tree so that he might be chopped down to make a chair.

The next morning, Klaus instructs her to stay in the courtyard house until further notice. Elena wants to argue. Her world is already so small. Why is he making it smaller?

She bites her tongue.

Sometimes, Klaus can be persuaded. Often, he can’t. When she isn’t sure, she can’t take the chance - not when she might need to save her arguments for bigger issues.
