a little while ago, I was contacted by Amal Abushaban, a Palestinian mother of 5, for help regarding her Gofundme campaign.

In summary, after spending months raising over $13,000 for her family, she attempted to withdraw the money. She did everything right, she answered Gofundme's questions, she provided the details of her beneficiary and she contacted their support team - only to be left in the dark until an email came one day, notifying her that her campaign had been closed and all donations were now in the process of being refunded.

I tried kicking up a major fuss about it online, as well as trying to pester Gofundme Support on my own account, but all it did was send me in circles as I desperately pleaded for the Gofundme Support person I was assigned to at least re-instate the damn fund. Even worse, Amal got her first email today about refunds going through.

Regrettably, Amal is being forced to start over completely in her fundraising efforts. Her beneficiary has started this Paypal fund for her. Please donate and share!

Anti discourse is SO funny to me because like. Beetlejuice was one of the only characters that didn't manipulate, take advantage of, or use personal jabs at Lydia. What did he do? He told her loves her twice (if you count the wedding). And yeah he stalked her, which was revealed to be him watching over Lydia getting trapped in Rory's manipulative spider-web. He literally cannot stop smiling around her in most of their interactions. The movie encourages you to be aware of the pairing, as Beetlejuice gets pushed out of the villain into an anti-hero role & more likeable as Lydia's romantic partner. And we're mentally disturbed for seeing some potential on that?? Okay, sure, go figure. You have every reason not to ship it, but you do not have any right to threaten & insult people about it. I know Beetlebabes is questionable in the first movie, but it's easily the healthiest relationship route in the sequel:

I think what got on my nerves was the sheer amount of people I saw calling qjaiden getting in an accident. like, okay, maybe her seeing the door while looking for secrets was accidental. but her actively trying multiple ways to get both into the rooms and into the chests very much wasn't.

I'm all for the conflict it'll bring but you cannot call someone trying multiple times to get into a hidden room, and then into the chests it holds, an accident. the only reason she couldn't get the chests was because codebreakers were disabled, but she still absolutely tried. that's not an accident.

let her claim to be silly and do things that'll hurt people and let those actions be on purpose, even if she doesnt mean harm. she did that with the intention of snooping and only stopped when she couldn't get information, and shes so much more interesting that way than if shes just Silly and it was an accident.

Just calling a female character "silly" and chalking every Funky thing a female does up to an accident removes the character's agency in every way fucking possible. It isn't feminist to say that your fav female character didn't mean to do the Bad Thing she 100% meant to do, or that she didn't understand that she was doing something wrong, because that's just. Let female characters do fucked up things! One of the most baffling things about the asoiaf fandom is how Rhaegar has become one of the most hated characters for supposedly starting a war and sleeping around…while Robert Baratheon has turned into a fan favorite and even gets the endearing “Bobby B” monicker. I’ve actually seen so many people defend Robert and blame Cersei for being a victim of abuse. With everything y’all hate Rhaegar for, you turn around defend or excuse Robert for doing the very same things (maybe even worse).
