strung up and injured and hurt to look pretty and literally exist as an art piece in a gallery.

their arms are folded, intertwined with their legs so that their bony arm is twisted around their left leg, the other under the right, the right leg splayed out and upwards farther. their knuckles go red and their body suffers long term damage for being kept in a stress position like that for so long.

they lost feeling a long time ago. When they eat, they get spoonfed by one of the employees at the gallery. People gather around to watch and it becomes part of the art because the employee has to wear something that evokes whatever morbid image they think it’s displaying.

they get let out twice a day- before and after opening and closing- to use the bathroom, and otherwise they’re constantly strung up. their body is in a constant stress position, and both of their shoulders have been dislocated to achieve it for a long, long time. their vocal cords were also cut. whumper would have just cut their tongue, except they thought that had value to add to the piece, in whumpee licking their scabbed chapped lips, or getting their jaw pulled open. they decided to cut their vocal cords instead.

before they got strung up, they had to be turned into an art piece. Whumper scarred them to all hell, not trying to hurt them, but trying to evoke a certain image. their clothes aren’t normal clothes, obviously, they’re the type of thing you’d imagine on a statue. That type of revealing, robe-ish thing.

there’s a little plaque that sits on a stand next to them, with whumper’s name and credits to them, and the name of their website if any viewers want to buy one of their own to keep, and the title of the piece. not their given name, not the name their mother gave them- the title of the piece.

they’ve stopped being able to feel things a long time ago. They almost dislike when they’re let down, because it gives their body just enough time to recoordinate to normal gravity and walking before getting strung back up. they have to start the process of the initial blood rush, followed by the asleep feeling, followed by pain and then numbness. they haven’t been able to feel their feet or their fingers since training. if they do get rescued, they won’t be able to use either- their toes and fingers both look purple, almost black, from the blood- almost like bad hypothermia. it adds to the look. they think their fingers and toes might be dead.

whumper was looking for the type of look you see sometimes in old rennesiance oil paintings, but more tangible. whumpee’s body wasn’t the only thing they worked on- they looked through different types of bonds- ropes, chains, before finally landing on strings. whumpee is a proper art piece to whumper- they spent hours styling and changing whumpee’s clothes, if you could call it that. Whumper spent days sketching and thinking about ways to string up whumpee- which arm and leg should go where to achieve the most pain and blood flow block up, making their knuckles and every one of their bony joints red and swollen.

alternatively, art piece whumpee who’s heavily conditioned. they’re an art piece. that’s all they are. there’s nothing wrong with the way the viewers look at them or touch them or the mocking way they talk to them. they want to be a good art piece. that’s all they are.

human speech sounds garbled in their mind. somehow, whumper’s training managed to make whumpee unlearn language, all human language coming out strange and gibberish to them. they can’t communicate, can’t understand.

the strings are light and clear, and they give enough for whumpee to be able to move and change their position slightly, but they can’t get out. the strings are wrapped too tight around them, further affecting their circulation and biting into their flesh, leaving permeanant scars. the strings don’t give, despite how thin they are, they’re sturdy.

if whumpee does manage to get out of them, somehow, they’ll be decommissioned. A new living art piece will be up a couple months from now. they’ll hand in a heap on the floor, much too dizzy to get away from the security guards.

they’ve long stopped trying to fight it. They’re a touchable exhibit, and so people are allowed to pinch their cheeks and laugh when their eyes widen or touch them however they want as long as they don’t break their strings. People poke them in the sides and laugh when they flinch, looking over at them with terror.

they’re surrounded by objects- paintings and cloth and clay. Beautiful objects, human expression, but objects nonetheless. they’re left there after lights out, just like all the other art pieces, sitting in the dark for 15 hours surrounded by objects just like them until the next employee comes in to open at seven.

they’re the pride and joy of their exhibit.

"Where did this come from?" Hannibal asked. His hands were busy washing Will's hair. A bruise on his temple drew his attention, making him brush away the foam to get a better look. "It wasn't here yesterday."

"A guy we arrested showed some resistance. He hit me with the barrel of his gun." Will explained. His eyes were closed and he was almost purring in Hannibal's hands.

Hannibal made a disapproving sound.

"Shame you arrested him. I can't go after him now."

"You do realize you can't chase down every guy who touches me, right?"

"One can always try." Hannibal answered honestly and continued massaging Will's scalp.

"I never hear about stuff like that from you." Will suddenly said and opened his eyes.

"What kind of stuff?"

"About the people that do anything to you."

"That's because the people who do anything to me don't get to live too much, darling. I take care of them myself."

"Of that much I am aware." Will said and pictured the way the Ripper case file kept getting thicker and thicker on his desk. "It would be nice if you didn't. At least sometimes."

"Are you implying that you want to play the knight in shining armour? For me?"

"You're stupid." Will concluded. "But yes. Sometimes you are too elegant with these individuals. And I get it, that's your thing."

Hannibal hummed thoughtfully.

"You got me curious. I might take your offer."

"Do that."

"Alright. Now, let's discuss what the victims have in common." Jack said, looking through a few pictures.

Will's phone rang just when he was about to reply.

"Sorry." He apologized and was about to reject the call. Hannibal's name flashing on the screen made him do the opposite.

"Hey." Will greeted him.

"My dearest." Hannibal started. "There is a gentleman here at Walmart who left his shopping cart in the parking lot. Right in front of my Bentley."

"That... sounds annoying?"

"And agonizingly rude."

Will smiled thinking of the funny choice of words. He found it adorable that Hannibal had called to share that with him. Then it sunk in. He remembered about their discussion last night.

"You're at Walmart where exactly?"

"In Quantico. I wanted to pick you up later."

"I'm on my way. Don't let that son of a bitch go." Will said and hung up.

That was it. His knight in shining armour moment. The looks he earned from everyone in the room were mixed and confused.

"Sorry, I need to go. It's important."

"Of course. The serial killer can wait." Jack concluded as Will was already leaving the room.

"Huh?" The man who was already very bored with the conversation he was having with Hannibal turned his head towards Will.

"Yes, you. Grab your shopping cart quickly and put it where it should be."

"And who exactly are you? The shopping cart police?"

"I will be your worst nightmare if you don't do as I say. Trust me, this is me being nice."

"I'm not doing anything." He said and started walking towards his car. Will did not quickened his pace. He memorized the car plate and watched the man leave with a content smile on his face.

"That was me being nice." Will told Hannibal who looked like he was watching his favorite movie.

"I am looking forward to what will happen."

"Good." Will said, then kept on his shining armour. "Are you alright?"

"Bothered by this incident but I am slowly becoming more and more enthusiastic."

"I hope you understand why I also asked Dr. Lecter to consult on this case." Jack said as soon as Will and Hannibal arrived at the crime scene. "It's quite peculiar."

"The man was found dead in a shopping cart at Walmart. His liver is missing. The cut is quite sloppy so definitely not the Ripper." Jimmy explained.

"Was it really that sloppy?" Will asked unamused by the feedback.

"I mean, it shows that our killer has no medical training whatsoever. But he's good enough. Meticulous."

"What do you think, doctor?" Will asked, ignoring Jimmy.

"The crime scene shows high class. Power. It has something sensual to it. I would say that the killer must have been quite disturbed by a very specific behavior caused by the victim."

"What exactly?" Jack asked confused by the specific choice of words. He knew better than to question Hannibal.

"Maybe the victim left his shopping cart in the parking lot?" Brian suggested making Jack roll his eyes.

"I'm sure it's deeper than that."

Hey K, have you seen the controversy around Hugh Dancy’s answers to hannigram-related questions at the Fan expo? Some fans are mad saying he’s a Hannigram denier but I’ve been in this fandom for 11 years now and honestly, reading his answers, he’s still saying the same stuff he always did though? So I’m a bit confused as to why people are angry with his answers?

He always acknowledged they loved each other, that it was a romance, but platonic. Also, I think he’s got a very British sense of humor and is sarcastic and ironic a lot and was never really into discussing hannigram as an openly gay romance, but more so because he is a literal guy in the way he communicates. Tons of Brits are like that. Especially actors, they’re not keen on doing fan service or saying what people like to hear. Mads on the other hand, loves enticing the audience and talking about Hannigram the way they want to hear.

All in all, maybe it’s bc some of these people are new to the fandom, but I literally think that this was just Hugh being Hugh and he gave mostly the same responses as he’s done in the past. It’s a mix of his sense of humor and the tone of the fan expo which is light and not necessarily a proper interview where he’d be more serious and give long answers.

Hi! Yes, I know a lot of people were unhappy with Hugh's responses - I'm not watching the fandom as closely as I used to, but I'm still keeping an eye on it.

I agree with you in that I heard nothing new. In my opinion, the problem lies in the reputation of 'Hannibal' fandom. We're known as a (mostly) cozy place where the biggest M/M ship is canon and actively supported by cast, writers, and the director. They all said so many wonderful things over the years, things that keep being repeated and are taken as a fandom Bible.

That's why people might still be unpleasantly surprised when they hear Hugh's reserved, distant replies, or Mads' weirdly shallow answers, or Bryan's ideas that are all over the place.

The truth is, ten years separate these people from their work. Hugh in particular hasn't even seen S3 as a complete product, at least from what I lasted heard. Besides, they all have been inconsistent even when the show was airing - Hugh has an interesting habit of saying different things depending on what kind of interview he's giving and who he's with. As an example, in the commentary to S3, he agreed with Bryan that Will was jealous of Bedelia and snapping at her because of it, but then later, he said Will disliked Bedelia for basically being a bad person, with jealousy being unrelated to it.

I'll be the first person to admit that some of Hugh's (and others') answers make no sense or contradict the show, but over the years, I got very used to it, to the point where it doesn't faze me any longer.

Hugh thinks it would take Will 7 season to fall in love with Hannibal, even though 7 seasons haven't been in the plans for over a decade (as Bryan has settled on 5 ages ago), and Will's silence to Bedelia's question and his further choices clearly meant to show he reciprocates? Ok. Hugh things Will's feelings for Hannibal are unrelated to his feelings regarding his own darkness? Fine - at least he acknowledged Will is dark because sometimes there are some denials about it. He thinks Will's decision to betray Jack and Alana and get a bunch of innocent people killed has nothing to do with his love for Hannibal? Lol, but all right.

I don't believe S4 will ever happen. Now, if it's announced, and then I keep hearing the stuff I really don't like, I might get worried, but as it is, I just save the things I agree with and ignore the rest :D The show is over, and we are all invited to come up with our own version of Will and Hannibal's future life. I'm also absolutely certain that we, passionate fans, know the show much, much better than people who were involved in it a decade ago. I mean, if I finished writing a fic 2 years ago, then a reader who just read it will probably know it better than I do at this point. It's natural.

Also, during this reunion, so many wonderful things were said, too. About Hannibal inviting Molly 'for dinner' and Will describing him as a 'therapist' to her, Hannibal urging Will to lose at least a dog or two out of the thousand when they are on the run, Will being annoyed by Hannibal's fussy kitchen habits, etc.

Basically, I don't think we heard anything new or bad. Some answers might have been frustrating, but the good still tops the bad, in my opinion - and the bad isn't all that relevant.

I didn't know there was another Hannibal Con! (Everyone said it was awkward, tho but idk 🤷‍♀️)

I actually wasn’t going to watch the panel because I’m on hiatus (got sent to horny jail) but for you, darling, I decided to so I can give you a good answer <333

So the panel was moderated by Rotem Rusak who I think is awesome because anyone that’s been a fan for over a decade now and still wears the flower crowns is an OG in my book. Three minutes in and I’m already feeling the tension in the air. When Rotem mentioned filming season 4, Mads made a sort of sardonic remark about needing work which I think really answers the overarching question about these panels — are they doing it to try to get a season 4 made or are they looking for a quick paycheck and I think the answer is clearly the latter.

I thought the first question was really well thought out and as far as I know, has never been asked before, “Did you have any real life or fictional inspirations for your characters?” Mads’ answer was pretty basic, I thought Hugh’s was really interesting (if only he could remember the scientist’s name lol).

Pretty quickly after that the panel starts taking a downturn. I think it being so long after making the show, Mads has grown tired of romanticizing a cannibal serial killer. He’s seemed exasperated when he said “You think it’s human what he’s doing to Will?” Then he goes on to call Will a friend, a long lost brother. Then he kinda does a jab at the fans for saying that Hannibal’s feelings for Will humanized him more. Honestly, yikes. He knows his audience so I’m not sure why he would imply that there’s something morally wrong with Hannibal fans by retorting, “It says a lot about you guys.”

Hugh saying that he doesn’t think either of them are high on the human scale contradicts one of the main themes of the show. Will is supposed to be our Everyman. He’s our crucible and perspective despite the show technically being about Hannibal. We’re supposed to relate to Will and see his corruption as something that can happen to anyone.

“You’re just going to keep going until we tell you—”

That one threw me. Hugh sounds so done with it all.

As an aside, I was kinda smirking when she asked about either of them succeeding in killing the other because boyyy I live in my Mukōzuke alternate ending daydreams like it’s my second home. I was half hoping he’d say that Will would go on a date with Matthew.

And then Mads called the audience “sick fucks.” Mmmmmm ok sir. I think we’re getting a little too nasty with that language (I cringed).

Hannibal finds a ginger colored hair on Will’s shoulder??? BRO HE SMELLED HIM!! Mads rewatch the show please.

Dammit Hugh, don’t spoil our headcanon that Will wanted to help Hannibal escape because he loved him and missed him.

Finally someone in the audience asked them to kiss which is what I’ve been dying for someone to do since the first panel, and we got our answer “You can’t afford that.”

Look, I get it, they’re just actors. They’re doing a gig for a paycheck. But honestly, the fans have been begging for a hannigram kiss for a decade and here they are on stage together, getting paid (way too much) to haphazardly answer questions about a show that made them famous and one little peck wouldn’t kill them. But that’s the answer folks, if you want them to kiss, you gotta PAY THEM. *sigh*

OH LORD, IT KEEPS GOING….. Now Mads is saying they were never going to actually kiss in twotl. They were just getting egged on by the fans during the filming of season 3 but it was never going to be a legit thing. Gagged.

Hugh being flattered by the fans’ reactions was cute. I think Hannibal is one of those rare shows that resonates with people on the fringes of society, and that makes it so special.

The season 4 question was another major letdown. Nothing about exploring their relationship or where they escaped to. Just some sarcastic remarks. I have to say that not having Bryan Fuller at this panel is such a disappointment. I honestly would rather hear his takes on these questions than Mads and Hugh’s at this point.

Damn, I’d love to have known what Will’s favorite movies or books were but nope, Hugh doesn’t want to think too deeply about that.

Anyway, that seemed to be it for the Hannibal related questions. So in conclusion, was it awkward? Yeah kinda.

So I'm a bit of a baker, as like a hobby. I find it fun and it has a great outcome. I think I did this before but I couldn't find it on my masterlist so I'm just writing this assuming it's the first one.

Includes: Hannibal Lecter, Michael Myers, Poly Herbert West and Dan Cain, Bo and Vincent Sinclair (seperate)

Hannibal Lecter

Hannibal prefers to cook over bake but he's still going to support your hobby. Probably joining you in baking and maybe (usually) taking over some of the tasks.

He already uses the best ingredients so that also applies to your baking ingredients. I'm super positive that Hannibal would rather go vegan than use flour that isn't grass fed and organic.

Also he's going to make sure you're using the best quality tools you can use. He doesn't own a microwave so if you have to melt something you're going to have to use the oven or do a double boiler on the stove.

He'll always try what you make, mostly because he watched the entire process of you making your sweets and knows that it's high quality. He won't be mean about it if it's bad or missing something, he'll just tell you.

Overall a very supportive boyfriend of your hobby.

Michael Myers

Michael likes to watch you in general and when you're baking it's no different. He just sits in the kitchen and stares at you or watches from outside the house.

Michael has a big sweet tooth so he's taking some of whatever you've made, and if it's RZ Michael he's taking a lot of it. I can see RZ Michael stealing an entire cake from you if he likes it that much.

Will also lick off whatever leftover batter or dough is on your dishes. I can also see him being the kind of person to take one of those cookie dough logs and just straight up take bites out of the entire thing.

He won't ever really tell you that he likes you're baking but whenever you do make something half of it is usually gone before the end of the day.

Herbert West and Dan Cain

Dan has more of a sweet tooth than Herbert does. Dan will also join you in making whatever you're baking while Herbert watches from the side or just does science stuff.

Herbert will join you on occasion and will probably not do much, aside from telling you what to add and what to do next.

Dan loves baking with you and trying whatever you've made for him. But both Herbert and Dan take a piece of whatever you've made to work with them. They also ask you to make stuff for work parties if they have one.

Herbert will also try whatever you've made but he won't be as 'enthusiastic' as Dan is about it.

Bo Sinclair

He thinks it's a waste of ingredients until he tastes it. He's still gonna be cocky and not really admit how much he likes your baking but you know he loves it.

He, like many slashers, likes to watch you being so domestic. Seeing you doing anything domestic, especially baking something for him is going to make him a little love sick. Don't be surprised if he can't keep his hands off of you while you're baking.

He'll leave subtle hits for you about what he wants you to make. Like he'll leave out a cook book with the page turned to a specific recipe or will mention he saw this or that on tv earlier.

He assumes because you can bake you can also cook so now he has you doing both. It doesn't matter how basic or bad your cooking is, it's better than Bo's.

Vincent Sinclair

Fully supportive of this hobby. Can he help you with anything? Should he ask Bo to get you something from the store? Do you need recipes?

Baking themes will start to show up in his art now too. What? He just so happened to paint you baking something? Or he might have made some wax figures of sweets? It's not because of you (it totally is)

Will go digging for old recipes that his family has. Although Mr and Mrs.Sinclair (rest in piss) were horrible parents I think that Trudy made a few baked goods from time to time and they were pretty damn good.

Somewhat 'gatekeeps' your food from his brothers. He'll honestly steal a lot of whatever you've made and keep in the basement for you and him to share.

Ok, I'm getting caught up in Face and BA's practically non-existent relationship. I could go on forever, but I'm on mobile with long nails, so I'll stick to some bullet points for now to preserve my sanity.

•One thing I've noticed is how fucking difficult it is to find examples of Face and BA interacting. Just them standing next to each other is a whole lot of work to track down. 9 times out of 10 Face is next to Hannibal or Murdock where he feels most comfortable, ironically the same goes for BA. BA will take an order from Face at the appropriate times, but when they stand next to each other, they hardly ever interact if at all. One exception is that BA doesn't tend to react to anything Face says unless he's angry like in 'Black Day at Bad Rock' and 'Chopping Spree' or unless he's making fun of Face. In fact, I've noticed BA almost only ever teases Face. He yells a lot at Murdock and will argue with Hannibal, but he will outright make fun of Face.

It's also some of the only times BA smiles and laughs. Nearly every time this happens, BA isn't looking at Face at the time. He'll have his eyes on the road or being doing something with his hands that his eyes never leave. When Face ever tries to engage with BA, there is almost no reaction at all.

Face just waits for the tiniest nod before he moves on.

But once in a great while we get something like this:

This is one of the only times I can think of that they actually have a conversation. Face is complaining like he does, and BA responds with something insightful.

So to sum up, minus orders, there are basically three types of interactions between them.

1- BA mostly ignores Face while Face tries to talk to him.

2- BA teasing Face.

3- BA is angry at Face.

So why do you think that is?

• Here's what I've been thinking about.

Face lies for a living, BA doesn't like lying. Let's start there. I think when Face looks at BA and tries to talk to him, BA chooses to not react because it gives him the upper hand. Can't get scammed if you don't play your part. Not that he thinks he's being scammed, but BA has seen enough to almost always have his guard up. There is a lot of respect for Hannibal that let's BA feel more comfortable around him and with Murdock he gets affection whether he wants it or not, that's just how Murdock rolls. So for BA he's not making a choice until it comes to his interactions with Face. Now for Face, he has the same thing with Hannibal and Murdock, no emotional work needed there, but when it comes to BA he's at a loss. He can't scam his way into friendship with BA, but he can't be too genuine either. It's in his nature to also have his guard up, so there are two walls put up between them at all times. The biggest difference is you can tell Face wants to be friends with BA and despite the walls, Face trusts his friend/not friend probably more than he realizes. The poor kid was probably pretty lonely as a child so having this little family means a lot to him even if he is somewhat unaware of it. When Face tries to leave, he address the whole team, but it's BA who responds first. It seems to kinda take Face by surprise. So he tries to make light of the situation. Look at the two of them at the end here:

It's probably the only time they've ever embraced and it's clearly uncomfortable, but neither of them hesitates. Their guards both drop for just long enough to be friends. I know everyone focuses on Murdock in this scene, but I always notice this more.

•One last thing I'd like to add is from 'Black Day at Bad Rock'.

While Face is pacing back and forth in Dr. Sullivan's living room talking about how BA is gonna kill him, Hannibal says "Face, BA loves you." When Face doubles back and says "he does?" Hannibal responds, "Told me himself" (those lines are from memory and may be a little off, but the intention remains). Face is genuinely taken aback by every time he is informed of or experiences BA's affection for him, cuz he honestly can't see it 90% of the time.

Then there's this:

It was one of the only times we see them make eye contact and see BA smile. I'm not gonna get into much more here than BA starting angry and ending with him making fun of Face, there's too much here lol, but this is the best example of their dynamic.

why do you write fanfic?

i love everything about it. i love how immediate it is. i can just click post and people can see it. i love when people tell me their favorite part in the comments. i love having 100% creative control. i love having no deadlines. i love shouting something i'm proud of into the void and then getting a reply from somewhere halfway across the world in a mutual second language. i love building community with strangers over things we both love. it's the best.

which of your posted stories do you think of the most even though the story is "finished"?

probably there's daggers in men's smiles because that one has the biggest piece of my soul in it. i also think of anti-hero a lot but i'm still working on the sequel so I don't count it as "finished".

if you could give yourself fic advice from when you first started writing fic, what would that advice be?

if it's a multi-chapter, get to the 90-95% mark before you start posting. not only does this increase the likelihood of you actually finishing it and ending up with a completed story you're proud of, you'll also end up with a better final product because you can go back and edit earlier chapters once the later chapters are taking form and make the themes more cohesive.

what's your relationship to fic stats?

i like em. i used to track them obsessively when I was younger but honestly i have neither the time nor the motivation for that anymore. but it's nice to see a number and picture actual people. 25 kudos is abstract to me, i don't care about that. but realizing that 25 people looked at a project and went "nice. thanks for letting me read it" is wild to me. makes me really happy.

is there a pairing or scenario or friendship that you miss writing? if so, why? if not, why not?

yes and no. i used to read so much fanfic and write almost none, and now it's pretty much the opposite. so there isn't really a lot of content i'm "no longer writing" because there wasn't much for me to abandon in the first place. steve/bucky was my bread and butter ten years ago (how is the winter soldier ten years old already? wtf?) and i don't really see myself returning there, but i keep finding similar vibes in my newer projects and i'm really happy about that.

what motivates you to write?

i don't know how to stop. it's how i deal with being a person. wish i had a smart inspirational answer but that's what it is. it just happens. if i'm bored or sad or happy or tired or nervous, i write.

why do you write for the fandom(s) you write for?

i haven't fully understood why i write for some of my fandoms but not others. there's a lot of media that i adore and have never written a single word for (hannibal, the x files, ofmd, discworld...). often it's specifically the idea of "this character trait / this dynamic feels underutilized, I want to explore it further". cobra kai is a yarn drawer of messy but compelling character arcs that often go nowhere, and i like untangling the potential of them. star trek is comforting and it's good soil for planting angst, hope and humor plus an ensemble cast.

if you're stuck writing a WIP, what do you do?

work on a different one. i have so many and i'm always obsessed with at least one of them. sooner or later i'll have an idea for one of the older ones and then that's back on the menu again. i never force myself to work on something specific.

what do you wish people knew about comments?

a long unhinged comment is the key to my heart (as @zannolin who tagged me in this knows all too well), but i love each and every one so much. i love comments that are just a chain of emojis, comments that say nothing except 'how dare you', comments that dive into themes and metaphors. i love comments that tell me my fic made them laugh out loud, made them stay up too late, made them tell a non-fandom friend about it. there are so many different types of comments that make up the tapestry of a fun community, so please don't assume that there's a right way to leave a comment and the author will be disappointed or upset if you do it "wrong". i'm always worried my comments are not as funny / intelligent / memorable / observant as other people's comments and i hope i can take that fear away from other readers!

writing more funny miscommunication and seeing how far I can push it. scenes that are set in darkness so I don't rely too much on describing visuals. maybe a mystery one day when i feel up for doing something plot-heavy.

i've been thinking about people who write hannibal fics, and how incorporating will's louisiana upbringing could be so hard if you didn't grow up there, and it just so happens that i did grow up there! so i'm making a little list of things about louisiana that people might not know. go forth and write cajun will graham!

food: first off, there's a lot of things that are very specific to poor people in louisiana. i didn't realize until relatively recently that these weren't things everyone ate. molasses and milk (poor man's chocolate milk. honey and milk also is a thing, but molasses is more common bc of all the cane fields.) actually, let me just get a whole category out of the way: put everything in milk. cornbread and milk (with honey or sugar dumped in to sweeten it, this is a whole meal, we used to eat this for dinner), oats and milk (raw oats. with sugar.), crackers and milk (saltines. i'm not joking.), literally put any carb in milk and that's a cajun dish. dinner foods you see a lot of are things like jambalaya, gumbo (pro tip, gumbo is always better on the second and third day, and you eat it with potato salad), etouffee (if you look this up, you'll see a lot of fancy shit, this is not fancy. it's the slimiest gravy pot full of meat and veggies.) everything has rice, you can't eat dinner without rice. sweet potatoes are big, a lot more common than regular ones. okra is also very very common.

environment: we all know louisiana has a lot of bayous, but a lot of people have never seen one i guess? and have no idea what that looks like. it's not like shrek swamp kind of deal. the water's not that filthy most of the time, at least not to look at. you've got a lot of foliage on top of the water mostly. cypress trees are the big thing that makes a bayou look like a bayou. cypress trees with spanish moss all over them. the line between a bayou and a lake isn't big, and a lot of them are connected. also. (about to tell you something that will blow your mind.) swamps are full of nutria rats. (but percy, what are nutria rats? (pronounced noo-tra rats)) they look like small capybaras with long thick tails, and by small i mean they gut up to 20 pounds. 3 feet. they're actually adorable though. alligators are common, they're not aggressive, you just have to keep an eye on them. there's usually saw palmettos around the edges of the water. outside of swamps, though, something you'll notice is there are sugar cane fields everywhere. there's also live oak trees, which if you've never seen, are beautiful. they do exist in other places, but they grow differently in louisiana bc of all the water. they have enormous, sweeping branches that dip down onto the ground sometimes, and they're (once again) full of spanish moss.

culture: in louisiana, some people speak cajun french. this is not the same as parisian french, and it's not always mutually intelligible. also, there's really very few people left who speak it, and it's mostly older folks. for example, my grandpa learned french before he learned english, but he didn't pass it on to his kids, and now he has very few people to speak it with. cajun music is a pretty unique thing, you've usually got an accordion, a fiddle, a bass, that kind of thing. some songs off the top of my head are jolie blonde, opelousas sostan, the boscoe stomp; there's also a lot of instrumental music, because it's all actually dancing music! cajun dancing is a whole thing that, once again, is dying out and mostly older folks know how to do it (my grandparents took me dancing all the time, so that, at least, i know). you might be able to look it up, but keep in mind, if you see something that looks more like square dancing, that's not what i'm talking about. (if you want a demo send me an ask lol, i can explain. in the meantime, i used to dance at randol's in lafayette, and the best band was donny broussard, so look those up on youtube if you want to hear cajun music.) zydeco is a whole other genre, and honestly not one i know much about, but it is an integral part of cajun culture.

Ludinus' Hannibal Lecter moment

I loved that bit when Ludinus dropped every ounce of performative pleasantness and went with the "why should I believe you?". It honestly has been fascinating, because, even though I saw it coming episodes ago, the fact that Bells Hells appears to be almost hell bent on taking on Predathos themselves, while not something I agree with, it does put them in this weird position regarding the idea that Ludinus originally had. Thing is, you could say how quickly the tables how turned in this conversation, but at the same time, without context, it could be suddenly really easy to paint Bells Hells as villains.

"Fuck, what it wrong with you? Get over it, grow up"

It's so hard to fathom what must be going on in Orym's mind right now. I do also appreciate the honesty, but the whole weight of emotions and the past, and the conflict regarding how his personal tragedy connects with everything that has been going on, and what he might have to do regarding whatever they decide to do with Predathos, it's a lot (and bless Liam for playing it to perfection).

"The best villains always think they're right", "We think we're right too". See, that's the thing, I've been saying it a lot, and it's been nothing but clear this episode, they depending of how things turn out and the optics of it all, Bells Hells might end up being the villains in their own story. And from the immediate reaction, it's clear that the cast is more than well aware of this too.

Glad that they eventually realized that Ludinus was stalling, because as thrilling as the conversation was, it was pretty evident that even though he was caged, he still had the upper hand.

Man, I'm so happy that if anyone would've taken him down, it was Orym, it had to be Orym. How much did he suffered and endured because of Ludinus' machinations? His husband and father figure just, collateral damage in an trial attempt to see if they could make Vax appear if Keyleth was ever in trouble, and then the fact just that their deaths were just brushed aside by Ludinus as just, a cost of his crusade. A sacrifice that he had to make, disregarding Orym's pain for what he saw as a greater good.

See, I knew it would happen immediately. Orym decided that they should cave the place and just left, the work done. And the rest want to keep going towards Predathos, searching for whatever justification they can to carry on. Like, I get the why, this idea of "this is already out in the open, so many other people might do it, it better be us, because we think we know better", I do, and I've gotten this feeling for a long time that they wanted to do this, no matter the cost. But Imogen herself said the "why does it have to be one or the other?", and yet decided the only alternative was, well, one or the other.

Look, I get why they jumped to the conclusion that Ludinus used the staff to potentially save his soul. But I get also Orym's doubts regarding if it was something else or not (and also, the fact that Matt never told them if they were right or not). It's complicated, because there might be a more than likely chance that he managed to escape death in some way, but also, there's an equal bigger chance of the party just trying to find a point of justification in order for them to go towards Predathos.

Predathos behaving like a small child of light is the biggest red flag, and the fact that they haven't noticed it, it doesn't sit right

I love Imogen, but her proclivity towards Predathos' power has been worrying me since before we knew what it was we were actually dealing with. Like, the fact that she actually enjoyed the ruidian flare, even though it hut everyone else (I get that she gained 24 temporary hp but compare that with how Fearne reacted).

Oh, this whole threads of fate thing is interesting, but again, is so hard to understand if there's actually a correct path of action

Man, I'm so conflicted, I get that the narrative decision they chose to take is certainly interesting and juicy. But I think pretty much we all knew in some way what was gonna happen, and what a bad decision it was, and then we still watch it unfold like a car crash in slow motion. APH CARTHAGE/HANNIBAL

Tbh he’s a bit complicated to explain for me 🤔 but to start, he’s the son of Phoenicia/Melqart! He and his father weren’t always super close but Carthage respects Phoenicia. Phoenicia taught him everything he knows about business, trading and his knowledge on the seas in general lol. To be honest, I didn’t want to take the military route I see most people go for with their APH Carthage ocs which isn’t bad at all! I just thought it’d be interesting if he was more based on Carthaginian politicians.

He’s very prideful, a bit stuck up but presents himself as superior (like literally everyone in the ancient world). He’s a bit narcissistic too but it’s more or less just having an inflated ego. He likes to show off his navy and how good at trading he is and a lot of the times, his wealth.

Before I go any further I AM A TOXIC DOOMED UNHEALTHY CARTHROME TRUTHER. THEY ARE AT EACH OTHER’S NECKS AND REGRET THEY EVER TRIED TO MAKE A RELATIONSHIP WORK THEY ARE SO TOXIC YAOI.

Rome and Carthage’s relationship to me is veeeery interesting. Like… Carthage knew he was great. The people around him knew he was a great. He was a big, maritime trading empire. But he needed more. It was never enough for him—I’m not sure if he feels guilty about this want for more and more but I’m leaning towards yes.

Rome was the same. He was just a regional power at the time, away from his siblings trying to conquer the Italian peninsula. But he oh so desperately needed to be recognised as more. He wanted to know he could rest comfortably knowing there was nobody that was going to try and invade him at any given time. Most of all, he wanted superiority (young Rome was EXTREMELY narcissistic lmao.. glad he’s toned it down overtime).

Their relationship just started out as acknowledging they needed something from each other and they were the ones that were going to give it to each other. But they got attached, “somewhat”. I think Carthage especially knew it was wrong and he shouldn’t try to pursue something more with Rome because he just has this gut feeling it’s not going to end well for him—Rome is growing, he!s becoming stronger, and sooner or later he wasn’t going to need Carthage anymore. But he did it anyway.

When Rome did eventually end up leaving him Carthage was PISSED (and maybe a lil heartbroken but shhh Carthage voice im a manly man that doesn’t need romance), but he could stomach it for now until that shit with the Mamertines happened—honestly thats another conversation in itself but basically, I have two Mamertines ocs, a set of siblings and being the land pirates they were they reunited Carthage and Rome except it’s not a happy reunion and Carthage wants to see Rome burn at a stake and vice versa.

(After the second Punic war in particular I’m pretty sure he’s thoroughly a bit afraid of Carthage and the seas from the first coughs HANNIBAL IS AT THE GATES!!!1!1!1!)

New things I tried: This is the first year I've really written a lot fanfic-wise, with 2023 being the first year I ever posted a fanfic, so the main new thing I tried this year was writing fanfiction. But other than that, some new things I tried this year were:

Grammarly: I'm not kidding, I got Grammarly like maybe a year ago? A year and a half ago? So while technically in 2023, I only started using it for fanfics in 2024. It feels crazy to think about, as I use Grammarly a lot now, but I'm glad I started using it then because it really does make a difference. (Not sponsored, lol)

My Hero Academia: I wasn't in the fandom before this year, but I've kinda become obsessed. I haven't written anything for it (yet), but the sheer number of like hundred thousand-word-long fics that there are is like heaven for me.

Yuri on Ice: I originally watched Yuri on Ice on YouTube in 2021, and I. Loved. It. I looked for a second season and was so excited to see that there was a movie planned, but, well... we all know how that went. I didn't really read many fanfics back then, but 2024 was the year for Yuri on Ice fanfics for me. (Notedly my YOI one-shot series Next Level, which currently has 6 fics and the 200+ YOI fics I've read over 2024)

Fic I spent the most time on: lookin' up now ('cause i am royalty), Luke Castellan/Percy Jackson (PJO). Rated T, 16/? chapters, 64,387. I know I keep mentioning it, but seriously this WIP is going to be long. I'm so excited to keep writing it, but the chapters take me forever and a day. 😭 I wish they didn't take me as long, but I think it's worth it for the longer chapters. This fic is what I always wanted to read myself, and I'm happy to be the one to give it to many readers who are also just as excited about it!

Fic I spent the least time on: Moonlight Sonata, Katsuki Yuuri/Victor Nikiforov (YOI). Rated G, 1,482. I was feeling really depressed at the time that I wrote this, and sometimes when I'm feeling really sad I listen to piano and instrumental music. So when this song came on, I got inspired to write. I wrote it in one night, editing, tagging, posting, and all.

Favorite thing I wrote: Moonlight Sonata is honestly my favorite thing I've ever written. It's the type of fic that I don't think many people read, but I loved writing it. It's just a simple story. (lookin' up now ('cause i am royalty) is also one of my favs, but I think that's pretty obvious at this point if you've read all of my previous answers)

Favorite thing I read: This is a tough one... I've read a lot of fics this year, but my top three (that I can think of right now) are:

We Forgot Peter by inkinmyheartandonthepage [Peter Parker & The Avengers (MCU), Rated G, 506,700]: This entire series is just ✨perfection✨. Sometimes angst is just the way to go, and seeing as I love the Avengers and Peter Parker, I just love this.

Leap of Faith by alighterwood and ErinWantsToWrite [Dick Grayson & Peter Parker (MCU & DC), Rated T, 460,010]/A Long Way From Home (And No Way Back) by Vivia_wants_boba [Batfamily Members & Peter Parker (MCU & DC), Rated T, 78,129]: More marvel Peter Parker fics, but this time these two are Peter Parker in Gotham fics. They’re pretty popular (for good reason!), and these two are the ones that I’ve been obsessed with.

The Collector by AwkwaAMO [Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead & Midoriya Izuku (MHA), Not Rated, 136,945]: One of the best MHA fics I’ve read so far, it sort of covers a vigilante Izuku with a villain-ish quirk, which I love reading about. I do want to write an MHA fic at some point, maybe even in 2025.

Something I finished: 😬 Unfortunately I can’t really think of any fics or series I’ve finished this year (other than one-shots), but I think 2025’s the year for me. I might look at this at the end of next year and still be disappointed in myself that I didn’t finish anything, but I’m determined to at least try.

Writing goals for 2025: My main writing goal for 2025 is to finish writing some of my WIPs, but I think another important one is to keep on top of updates. I haven’t been the best with updating all my fics in the last half of 2024, so in 2025 I want to make sure I don’t just spend all my time on one fic. It wouldn’t be that big of a problem if I actually finished that fic, but… my first goal is pretty indicative of the problem with that, lol.

Final thoughts: Overall I think 2024 was the first year I really dove head-first into fanfic. It’s been amazing to be able to write down any kind of story I think of and know that I can just upload it so that people who also enjoy the idea can see it. It’s also crazy that I wrote 130,000+ words, like I hope to be able to write even more in 2025, but still. It’s a lot.

This year I also got 32 subscribers to my AO3 profile, which I thought was crazy. I know many people subscribe to stories to keep track of any updates, but wanting to keep track of what I write? It’s amazing to think about. 😅

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? "Whither Must I Wander" far and away has the angstiest ending... again because I was going to do a sequel but that never happened. Also the ending for "The Crucible" (Hannibal/Abigail) because the ending stays in canon sooooo... Otherwise? I don't think I've really written much angst. Most of my drive to write is centered in "fixing" stuff... See "Out for Stars," "Intercalation," "My Love Loves Me," "Widow's Walk" etc.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? Ooh........ I like a happy ending so unlike the angst-ending question, the stable of possibilities is very full. There's my do-over for the end of MCU Endgame at the end of my 200k word long Steve/Nat/Bucky series "Friendship is Unnecessary." The specific fic in the series is "The Girl in the Garden" There's my defect-and-escape fic where I rewrite the ending of the HBO series Chernobyl, "Intercalation." And there's my first fic on AO3... "Keep Doing the News" which was in anticipation of The Newsroom having a sad ending, but I published it anyway even though it didn't because dammit I put a lot of research into that one.

Do you write crossovers? Rarely. It does happen but not often. It's not really my thing.

Have you ever received hate on a fic? Very few times. The one that sticks out the most is on my Hannibal/Abigail fic, which the age stuff squicked a lot of people out. Which... fair. But it's not like it wasn't tagged so... why are you reading it?

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? It is the majority of what I write, yes.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? The sequel to "Whither Must I Wander." It would basically be a retelling of Silence of the Lambs. I had a lot of cool ideas... but I dunno. I just never got past the "batting the fic around like a cat with a piece of string" phase. And I have a few different ideas for how to wrap up the MCU Infinity Stone arc... and there's the Wanda/Vision fix-it I wanted to write but... I dunno. I could never make it go and now the story's moved on. Plus I'm not really watching the MCU anymore. And there's the sequel fic to the show "Newsroom" about the Ebola outbreak in the 20-teens. I did so much research on that one, but I was never sure how I wanted it to end... or more specifically what I wanted it to say at the end.

What are your writing strengths? I have a very good vocabulary and can give very concise descriptions that still say a lot. I wish words were physical and made of rock candy so I could crunch them in my teeth.

What are your writing weaknesses? Writing action and connecting material (like travel time). Editing usually fixes it, but I really struggle with it on the first draft and it's usually the last part I'm happy with... and even then never truly happy.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I don't mind it in others' work... especially if it's translated or obvious what's happening, or meant to be disorienting/an obstruction. I don't do it much at all outside of a pet name in another language or something small like that.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to? Ooh. I'm... not sure. I keep thinking one day I'll write something for Astarion in BG3, but... eh? I've never felt the impulse beyond just wanting to pick him up and shake him and mash his wittle head. And I was very into the Gadreel/Sam pairing in Supernatural, but someone was writing a fic that was basically what I wanted so I never wrote for it. Shame they never finished... I can't really think of any others. If I'm fascinated by a pairing, I usually write it.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Oh this is hard. "Friendship is Unnecessary" is over 200k words long and there's a LOT going on in that one... but I think it's a tossup between "Intercalation," my Chernobyl fix-it, which involved getting a literal nuclear physicist to help me write dialogue and teach me about nuclear science because I cannot halfass anything when it comes to complicated metaphors, or "A Room for Rent in the Fourth Estate" which is my Darcy/Eddie/Venom fic which involved a lot of socio-political research to get the setup. And that latter is easily my most popular fic in spite of the MUCH less popular ship. So... I'm proud of that.

High school AU

Hannibal was a couple years older than Will but the reason they shared some classes was that Will was so intelligent that he shared some classes with Hannibal.

They wouldn't talk much other than contradicting each other on different subjects. Philosophy class would be everyone's nightmare because not even the teacher could stop their debates that would often continue during the breaks.

One day Will doesn't come to school. The next day as well. And so on for a week. Since Will had no friends, there was no one Hannibal could ask about Will's state. Hannibal had many friends or more precisely, he knew a lot of people but none of them had an incredible opinion regarding Will.

He was bored and slightly concerned that the only fascinating student in the whole institution was missing.

He knew where Will was living. He had followed him a few times just out of pure curiosity. And because he wanted to learn more about Will. So he was aware Will's family was poor, compared to his uncle Roberto. Hannibal did not give much importance to the amount of money people owned, what mattered more were their intellect and manners. And he had to admit, Will was an asshole but he was sharp. And beautiful. And he awakened something in him.

After overthinking it for seven hours, Hannibal found himself walking towards Will's house. He would knock at the door, offer Will his notes and then leave. All he needed was to have his curiosity satisfied.

So that's what he did. He knocked. Once. Then again. And then he just waited awkwardly on the doorstep. When the door finally opened, he didn't have the time to step back when a tall man grabbed him by the collar and threw him to the ground, making him roll down the porch steps like a ragdoll.

Hannibal tried to get up as soon as possible and dust himself off as if his biggest problem was his appearance.

"Dad, get back inside."

"I told you that if I see a Jehovah's witness again, I am kickin' his ass down the stairs."

"Let me deal with that. The game is starting anyway."

That last sentence convinced the huge man to go back in, the "Jehovah's witness" already forgotten.

Will jumped down the stairs and measured Hannibal from head to toes. He was relieved to see him standing on his feet. Nothing looked broken.

"Sorry about that."

"No apology needed, you didn't do anything." Hannibal said, still taken aback by what had happened a few seconds ago. His dignity was slightly harmed.

"Your lip." Will said and pulled out a handkerchief from his back pocket. He reached out to tap it on the trail of blood that was flowing from the corner of Hannibal's thin lips.

"That's nothing." Hannibal said. "Anyway, I wanted to bring you my notes. I figured you must have been sick since you missed so many classes." He added and reached for his backpack.

"You shouldn't be here." Will said. His expression was unreadable but his tone sounded like a warning.

"A 'thank you' would be enough."

"Seriously, my dad he...he is not really sober right now. That's not how he usually behaves."

Hannibal could tell that was definitely a lie. That was for sure how he usually behaved.

"Honestly? Maybe he is right, I should get a better suit. Maybe I do look like a Jehova's witness." Hannibal said, trying to save Will from giving him any explanation that might make him embarrassed.

He laughed.

"People are asking about you."

Will laughed again. "By 'people' you mean that you are asking. Who else even noticed I'm gone?"

"Classes are not entertaining enough."

"I think you will have to be bored for some more. My mom got sick and my dad can't take care of her since he...yeah, so..."

"You are in charge of everything around the house."

"Just for a while. She is already getting better."

"If you need anything, I could-"

"You don't even know how to hold a broom."

"Asshole."

"I am indeed. And you came all the way here to bring me your notes and get your ass kicked."

"I was really curious what would happen if I came here."

"Was it entertaining enough?"

"Yes." Hannibal replied. It had been indeed eventful. No one had kicked his ass in ages. Humbling even. But surprisingly that was not what was bothering him. "But seriously, if you need more notes or to catch up with classes, pay me a visit. My address..."

"I appreciate that. And I know where you live."

Hannibal nodded. Of course he knew.

What is your HC for Will’s sexuality? Do you see him as bisexual? Also if we only consider canon, is Will a straight man who happened to fall in love with one man (Hannibal)? Sorry for my ignorance here as I am not part of the queer community, but if a straight man falls in love with just one man in particular and doesn’t feel attracted to others, is he considered bisexual? Because I think this is where Will fits. I personally don’t think he’d be attracted to any other men, just Hannibal.

Hi! I don't have a clear headcanon here, but I enjoy speculating because I adore Will as a character.

To note, I won’t be relying on Bryan’s words in this meta as he gave us three different versions of Will’s sexuality, where he called him heterosexual with Hannibal being his possible exception (Bryan: I feel one is omnisexual and one is heterosexual and there's a lot of influence going back and forth, who knows with a six pack of beer what would happen), hinted at Will’s bisexuality (Bryan: You can have this intimate connection with somebody that then causes you to wonder where the lines of your own sexuality are), and implied that Will might be gay (Bryan on Twitter: “YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TO BREED” #SUBTEXT #HANNIGRAM #WhatAreYouBecoming). These tags point out not simply to Will’s darkness, but to the other things he (possibly) represses.

So, I think only the show itself should be taken into account when discussing this topic. On the surface, we see Will interested in Alana in S1, sleeping with Margot in S2, and marrying Molly in S3 — and of course, falling in love with Hannibal in the process of all 3 seasons. However, the three women in his life are united by some common aspects — namely, 1) they are perfectly safe and ordinary (with maybe Margot being an exception, but her own sexuality plays a role in this); 2) Will never develops any real emotional connection with any of them. To be more specific.

Alana

We first hear Will referring to Alana in E1 of S1, when he just distantly calls her by her last name. In the course of their time together, Will never seeks Alana out himself. It is Alana who comes to his class, or to the hospital, or to his home — Will does flirt with her, and he kisses her first, but he never appears genuinely interested because he never seems to think about her unless she comes to him. The only exception I personally remember is in E8, where we learn that Will called Alana and invited her over to help him find an animal that was attacked by coyote. Still, the script offers an interesting bit here.

WILL GRAHAM: I invited you over on the off chance we find it alive. Hard to wrangle a wounded animal by myself. (then, realizing) Did you think it was a date?

ALANA BLOOM: Honestly, it never crossed my mind.

Will is at first relieved, then almost disappointed.

So, why relieved? And why flirt with Alana at all if he isn’t actually interested? As I see it, Alana is a very normal, perfectly safe and socially acceptable choice, a nice beautiful woman whose acceptance is clearly important to Will. We know that Will is fighting his demons all the time — he desperately wants to be normal, to bury the darkness inside him. I would say, to him, an acceptance by such a normal person as Alana would mean that there is nothing wrong with him and that he can be normal, too. Now, I can’t say if it was really planned or if it is just a set of coincidences, but I think that the theory that makes most sense is that Will was attracted to Alana’s normalcy first and foremost. He craved an ordinary life at that point, and Alana was someone who could give it to him. The more time passes, the stronger Hannibal and Will’s bond gets, the colder Will acts with Alana. By S3, he doesn’t even know that she had a child and who she is with, so they obviously do not keep any contact. For these reasons, Will never appears emotionally invested in their relationship to me — he remembers about Alana only when she comes to him, like he is only interested in her because she is the only woman he is friends with, someone he doesn’t have to try hard with.

The only aspect that points to the sincerity of Will’s attraction to Alana is his words to Hannibal — that he wanted to kiss her since he’d met her as she’s very kissable. I can interpret it in two different ways. Will can be truly attracted to Alana or he might be so repressed that he thinks he wants things that he doesn’t (and we do have a precedent here — Will tries to deny who he really is in regard to his darkness for quite a long time).

Margot

I think we can all agree that Will was never emotionally interested in Margot. Like with Alana, it is Margot who seeks him out, and Margot is the one to initiate sex. Why does Will agree to it? Just because he wants it? I think it is possible, but I also think it’d be a little out of character for him for several reasons. Will knows Margot has some agenda. He knows she is not interested in sex with him because she admitted she is a lesbian. When she makes her move, Will tells her, "I've got the wrong parts for your proclivities". So he knows the truth, yet still agrees to have sex with her, and during this process, he doesn’t really see Margot. He sees Alana, Hannibal, and a Stag Man– a being that symbolizes his and Hannibal’s connection. More than that, he reaches orgasm only when the Stag Man appears. So, it is equally possible to read this scene as Will’s attempt to engage into the most natural activity in the world — sex with a woman, but he still fails at it by dragging a man and a monster into it.

Molly

Molly is a character who seems alien in the world of the show because she’s the embodiment of normalcy. Will marries her, and we can surely assume they have sex, but from the first seconds of their scenes, it is clear that emotional intimacy between them is missing. Molly and Walter go fishing, an activity that Will enjoys deeply and that could be a uniting hobby for him and his new family. However, Molly and Walter go alone, Will stays home. In all their scenes together, Will never initiates contact between them — he never attempts to touch Molly, sometimes even going out of his way to avoid it. In the hospital, after Dolarhyde’s attack, Will still doesn’t touch her, though his hand twitches as if he considers it. In the second scene, he touches the pillow near Molly’s head, which is so awkward and embarrassing that I’d personally never be able to tell these people are married. The most important thing, Will doesn’t return her ‘I love you’, which is very deliberate. Hannibal tells him that he has chosen a ready-made family, and Will doesn’t argue with it. He goes to Hannibal at the first opportunity because he missed him, not because he needed his help, and then after Dolarhyde’s attack and after learning Hannibal is in love with him, Will easily discards both Molly and Walter and we never see them again. He basically breaks up with Molly back at the hospital, as if her first contact with something not normal taints her in his eyes, breaks the normalcy he thought he needed from her.

So, it is clear that Will never really developed emotional bonds with women in his life. Was he truly attracted to them, or did he like them for the cover of normalcy they could potentially provide for him? I wouldn’t be surprised if Will turned out to be flexible, bisexual, or gay, as it is really open to interpretation and there is enough subtext to support every version. I used to think that Will was bi, but I also wonder if his possible repressed homosexuality could be one the factors that made his fight with himself so intense. Taking into account the area where Will has grown, to him, it is bad enough that he is a killer — he’s also a gay one at that. I think it could enhance his struggle through S1-3 and his slow realization that adhering to social norms in all ways does not make him happy.

Then again, I think Will’s sexuality doesn’t actually even matter at this point because after all seasons, there is only one person who is going to be a permanent part of his life, among all men and women — Hannibal. We have seen that neither Will nor Hannibal can tolerate the other’s partners, and with rich sexual subtext between the two of them, I believe they will easily move forward in their relationship post-fall.

1. Are there any characters in your fandom or faceclaims you refuse to RP with? Who and why? (The Walking Dead)

I can't think of any in the Walking Dead fandom... or really any fandom! I know that some people don't like interacting with darker characters, but I honestly love when I find the hated babes being written out in the wild! As for faceclaims? Going to be honest, I probably don't know who the face of a character is unless I write them and have dug around for images. I really do not keep up with celebrity drama.

6. Is there a character that the rest of your fandom adores that you just don’t like/are indifferent to? Who is the character and why? (The Walking Dead)

I feel like I really don't care about Glenn as much as other people do? I know a lot of people don't like Negan specifically because of Glenn... but I just really didn't connect much to him. It isn't that I didn't like him, but I definitely enjoyed him earlier on versus the later seasons. I don't think there's any characters I flat out dislike, though. (Unless we are looking at the comics because Comic Carol is just trying to be a problem.)

8. Out of the really popular pairings in your fandom, what’s your nOTP? (The Walking Dead)

I feel like I have been dead to this fandom a while now so maybe I don't know the really popular pairings, but I remember I kept seeing a LOT of Maggie x Negan and that is a hella NoTP for me. I just cannot see Maggie ever forgiving him to the point of romance (tho hate sex, revenge type shit? okay. I could see that).

10. What’s something you really hate seeing on your dash that seems to be popular with almost everyone else?

I don't like... I think they're called Magic AUs? Not that I dislike other people doing them, I just really have never understood the point or fun in them. Honestly, I get confused more often than not with them, but maybe it's an issue of me never getting deep enough into tumblr rp culture. Also not a huge fan of seeing a lot of horny shit. But as long as it's just text, I can mostly ignore it.

11. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to RPing?

Probably the policing that comes with most communities. I really don't understand the shipping discourse happening on a lot of platforms, I don't understand the purity wars, and I don't think I want to. I really don't care what other people write as long as they are tagging consciously and not overtly pushing boundaries of others (or not considering other people's boundaries in public convos). I love (and I mean love) dead dove content, I enjoy media that makes me uncomfortable and writing things that make me uncomfortable, exploring uncomfortable topics for the reason of storytelling. I will romance the Hannibal Lecter's and Kai Chisaki's and Negan's in writing, but if they existed irl you could not PAY me to get close to them even if they were behind bars, and I think a lot of people struggle with the idea that fictional interest does not equate real life acceptance. And that's where things get messy. tldr; just let people play Barbies and block what you don't like. Policing others isn't going to get anyone to agree with you, this is all fairyland, and you're in charge of your own experience.

With this blog, Alaire is an OC I've been writing since I was around 13 years old (I'm about to turn 33 next month) and I've just still been writing him since then. I often have the most muse for him because his character is particularly special to me. With my other blogs, it varies. Sometimes I want to write characters better than their canon, some of them are alters(I have DID), and some of them just seemed really fun to play!

ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ?

I refuse to write anything involving noncon. If it has happened to a character in their past or that character is discussing their trauma and things of that nature, that is perfectly fine, but I will not roleplay anything involving it having happened during the time our muses have met. It is traumatic for me.

I also won't write like - extensive fighting scenes(unless we've discussed what will take place - the expected outcome and things like that) mostly because every time I've tried to write them with people no one ever wants to let their character get hurt or lose or even come close to losing and it's always has to be mine that's losing so I've just gotten tired of it at this point. I get you don't want your character to lose, but come on, they aren't invincible.

Honestly it's almost always just kind of random for me. I'll be sitting around and suddenly an idea will just pop into my head. Or I'll be watching/reading/playing something and it'll give me ideas for my characters :3

Sometimes my thoughts are so loud that listening to things can distract me from writing (because of my DID) so it really depends. I would say I listen to music about half the time. Most of the time if I am though, it's this playing on the background of my PS4.
