For the Keaya hangout event it’s confirmed that Dulic will also be somewhere in the hangout. Do you think the writers/creators are gonna actually try to solve their brother angst within the hangout or are they gonna just make em argue like they always do when they have an form of interaction in this game.

sigh. there is a lot to unpack.

lets start with is it even possible to have believable well done conflict resolution for them in hangout format? 100% no. also, hangouts are optional and hangout paths cannot be used to meaningfully develop character or change core parts of their storyline. bc like players who didn't play it will be confused as fuck and genshin never demands to play hangouts as it does to play quests before you can access new interaction with a character. hangouts are not for character development, they are to expand on characterization, add details and unexpected sides, give exposition on backstory, etc. hangouts dramatize and expand on things we already know from character stories, they set up character conflicts (noelle wanting and failing to join the knights, barbara depression and stalkers, etc), but they do not resolve them. see - Ning's hangout expanded on her relationship with her ppl through PR image and the importance of Jade chamber for her, but Jade Chamber was rebuilt in the actual quest, hangout just setup the symbolism and motivation for it, but if you didn't play it, you're not out of loop of what's going on anyway.

all meaningful character development and story beats are updated in quests, so the next time character shows up hoyo can tell you go play this and this quest to understand why the character is acting differently or how the story of them progressed.

that said, you know what hangout CAN do? fucking RETCON backstories and pretend it's always been like this, so its not story\character progression. I am wary they're heading this way, bc that's what they did in hidden strife and weinfeist thing. There is no conflict to resolve, you guys :) They were always on friendly terms and in contact :) just a lil strained maybe, haha! lets ignore the entire Mond archon quest interactions and the fact that diluc's story quest makes zero sense now, bc it's about keeping kaeya from learning he's batman, when apparently kaeya wrote to him that he knows long ago.

I hate it, because it flattens both characters and makes their characterization inconsistent, muddles existing lore and absolutely cheapens the storyline. The issues need to be addressed and explored for pay off to work. But I'm afraid that hoyo will have them hangout without ever addressing the conflict at all, a lil awkwardly but friendly and throw some fluffy familial interaction there, and fandom will go AWWWW brothers reunion squeee! And I will be a single bitter hater whose mad my fav is being stripped of nuance

So I hope they keep arguing, bc it leaves hope for the actually meaningful character development\conflict resolution in the future, instead of sweeping it under the rug.

For some reason I have spent quite some time doing some "world building" (if it can be called that) that I probably won't add in the comic, so, gonna dump it all here.

The school is not the best of all, not even by public school standards, if anything, the school is often a second choice, and most of those who enter there are mostly bc it has little requirements to get in, and is very lenient to special cases.

Some examples of these people would be Freddy (he enters after the classes started) Bon, Julian (both didn't enter the private school they were going to at the last minute, so they got "stuck" in that school, there's more to them later)

For the school itself, it's not that bad (there's a reason that many ppl prefer to go there as a second choice in comparison to other schools) the classes are fairly decent (though, some teachers are prone to not show up to class), and it has a bunch of academic and sports programs, even though it kinda lacks on the cultural aspect. Until a new benefactor steps in.

So, after Julian failed miserably during his entrance exams for the private school he was going into, his father got him into the school he is in now, and to "cover up" the incident his dad decided to become a benefactor of the school, and bc of that, now the school has more budget, with the condition of using it for the whole "art" section (idk how to call it). And out of the blue, the school now has an improved auditorium, a bunch of new material and instruments, and, of course, a variety of new activities for the students, starting with a brand new band contest where everyone can participate, who knows what might happen next, maybe there'll be an official school band, or a chorus or something, (this is all really just testing how the students might take the new situation)

**Julian exposition time again!. Let's go. He basically burned himself out for trying to study for the entrance exams, finish middle school, and all that. It was bad, like, forgetting weeks worth of studies the moment you start the exam bad, like staring at the questions for the whole 3ish hours of the test while none of the questions make sense bad, like, flunking so embarrassingly that it's basically a secret, to the point your dad makes up an elaborate plan to hide the true reason you're going to a certain school, and forces you to take a different path than the one he had already set up for you bc you couldn't keep up bad. Like, that bad. (Poor guy, every time I check on what his deal is, I add more to it. I'm sorry but I like it when the characters'actions are part of the setup of the story, idk how to explain but is Fun)

Now, onto the ppl behind the music contest.

Lana*- secretary- the one actually in charge of the contest

Vincent (yes, the waiter/presenter*) - intern teacher- the one who is supposed to do most of the work

Owynn- student 15 yr old- he helps out every now and then bc he has nothing better to do w no ulterior motives :)

Bon's dad*- music teacher (I'll get to that, hold on)- he has to set up practice sessions/ music classes for whoever enters the contest

[insert OC name here] (an oc wow)- student/intern 17 yr old- the one who ended up doing most of everything

*giving them roles bc I'm lazy 4 ocs, even [insert OC name] is almost the librarian, yeah he's another different character

The arrangement goes like this: Lana is the head of the project and the one who reports back to the boss (between the principal and Julian's dad idk). The planning of events, the coverage, and those administrative details get solved by Vincent, and Bon's dad is supposed to manage the music rooms and instruments, as well as make schedules for using those for practices. [Insert OC name] does most of the hard labor, checking registrations, putting up the signs, etc., since their job as an intern is basically to help w anything that needs to be done. And also basically doing all of Bon's dad responsibilities since he doesn't actually have the time to do his job as a teacher.

ooo i've been watching bojack horseman recently!! i like it, it's funny and realistic, but i've heard it becomes a total shitshow (not as in it becomes a bad show, it's still a great show BUT the characters kinda stress you out)...i really like it, i've been recommending it to people! i like shows that are kind of cynical commentaries w an overlay of comedy though HAHA so if you're into that too, i'd recommend it. if you wanna watch a really good romance show, i'd recommend 'one day' on netflix!! it's like a slow burn friends to lovers, and the acting in it was phenomenal. no spoilers but i will give a heavy angst warning.

i found your fic "evermore" by chance, and golly, i hope you don't mind me spilling everything about it.

now to clarify...i am someone who's distant with genshin impact (as in, ive put a ton of hours into it, played it an launch even!) but due to the overwhelming fandom and hoyo being....like that, I haven't been able to get into it with good feelings. its still a fun game, despite it all.

so when I got into your fic, I had....how do you say.... less attachment to the characters. I didn't think much of ayato, since his banner started when I quit playing. but I was intrigued with the plot! I'm super familiar with angst! I thought to myself, this will be a fun read.

and....quite frankly...your fic made really invested in these characters. I could feel the reader's pain reminiscing their time with ayato, the small dips and feels with diluc, how thoma has been pining for them this whole time- a very fresh, very interesting perspective to these characters, in a scenario that you couldn't see ingame.

while i expected the "im in a arranged marriage" plot with ayato, I certainty didnt see the twist with diluc! I can see why you said he wasn't leading on, and the revelation makes a bit more sense with ayato's comment of "the wind is going strong" because not only there were rumors, but the fact that those rumors could've reached jean before she could arrive. it would've been messy if she knew, right?

although...on that note, I might be misremembering on my part, but everyone else seems to be...pushing? or rather, interested with how diluc and the reader's relationship. rather than feeling he was leading us on, it was rather you who "lead us on" (im putting this in quotation marks bc i dont like the connotation of the word) which is why I can understand people feeling disappointed because it wasn't clear, even if there was shifts into diluc's pov- why hasn't there been an instance of him thinking about her? i think something like that would better ease in the readers about the ship, but also, since you never mentioned diluc's plus one, i assume this was the road you wanted to take- which isn't bad at all! i respect your decision, and im amazed you went through with it, even if it can cause backlash. many respects for you, even moreso you were willing to write an alternative version.

anyways, all in all, amazing fic. I cant wait to see what's next on the board. maybe more angst? haha!

I'm gonna be really objective here. I really hope they find a way to make Brainy stay in this time, I would love if Kara finds her perfect partner and no, I don't think that should be Mon bc I don't think they could ever have a healthy relationship, I know Mon has wroth (if Crisis didn't change that bc we really don't know yet), however he did it in the future and that's his place, he has a mission there as well as Kara has its own in the present, and her family that means everything to her, and tbh I don't think they are that compatible, it wouldn't make any sense now after everything Kara's been through and her personal growth, but do I think the writers would care about it? NO, at this point I feel they are capable of doing anything, (not in the good way).

Talking about Supercorp, I think any possibility is already dead. Let's be honest, for much that I want it to happen, the writers/show runners have shown 0 interest in it, so I have no faith (hope they prove me wrong but I don't think so).

Andrea Rojas aka Acrata aka a waste of a powerful character. I know it's not a big dc character but that doesn't mean she isn't powerful.

And Dansen, probably the only good thing lately. I hope there won't be any trouble or interruptions during their wedding, that'd be incredibly unfair.
