It's a funny thing what six months of torture do to the human body.

To the mind.

To a Hero.

The day Hero went into Supervillain's headquarters, they were a bright shinning savior for the people. They were brave, powerful, unstoppable.

The day they were rescued– or rather drug out of the Supervillain's headquarters, they were just a shell.

Villain hyperventilated as they pulled Hero to an abandoned warehouse nearby, "Hero, I'm–I'm so sorry it took so long, oh God. What did they do to you? I'm so sorry, I tried. I really tried, I just couldn't figure out where they'd put you and I–"

Hero sat on the dusty ground and rested the back of their head against the wall, their hands limp by their sides, "It's ok."

"No, it's not I–"

"Don't spare me your pity. I know what they've all said. I know what I've become."

"What..?"

"Supervillain showed me all the headlines. 'Savior Turned Sinner!' Published September 6th, 'Our Best Hero Abandoned The People!' Published October 19th, 'Traitor Hero Joined Forces With Notorious Supervillain!' Published October 21st–"

"–Hero, y-you know what those gossip papers say, you don't have to listen to them–"

"'Hero Spotted At Supervillain Headquarters!' November 1st, 'Hero Gone Bad!' November 3rd–"

"–Hey, are you hearing me?–"

"–'Hero Rose To Fame To Kill Us All' November 23rd–"

"HERO!" Villain shook their shoulders, and they flinched, "S-sorry I just... what just happened?"

Hero shrugged.

"What... happened to you?"

Hero chuckled. A broken sort of thing, "Torture."

"Listen, I know you've been through the impossible. I'm so proud of you for making it and I–" Their voice cracked, "I don't know what I would've done if you didn't make it, b-but this isn't you, I need you to talk to me... please."

"I want to join your side."

"What."

"I want to join you."

"I–"

Hero's eyes finally focused on Villain, their gaze hard and determined, "They all turned on me when I was holding on just for them. I say burn them all."

"Hero, th-this isn't– I don't think you know what you're saying... y-you're in shock or something I–"

"I don't care about the shock, Villain. I'm tired. They call me a villain? I'll give them the worst they've ever seen."

Villain took a deep breath, "Okay, but don't blame me when you finally come to your senses and you can't wash the blood off your hands."

Hero nodded. "Oh, and one other thing."

"Yes?"

They reached up to where Villain was crouching before them, grabbed the hair at the base of their neck, and slammed their lips together.

"I've been wanting this for six months."

"Doctor Bashir," Nurse T'Strei gives a little knock on his office doorframe as she looks inside. When he spins his chair around to look at her, she holds up a small box in hand, "I was asked to bring this to you."

"Come on in," Julian invites cheerfully. T'Strei obliges, entering his office so that she can hand him the box, "What's this?" He asks curiously, holding it up to take a look at it.

"A birthday present," T'Strei replies, "Sent with apologies for the delay." She adds.

Julian smiles, stopping his inspection of the box so that he can open it. "Ah, that's lovely," He says, "Who's it from? So I know who to thank." He pops the box open.

T'Strei barely has time to say, "Major-" before the box unleashes what can only be described as a storm of glitter.

Julian yells in surprise, dropping the box to the ground. T'Strei throws her arms in front of her face, cursing and stumbling back from the onslaught. The mechanism in the box keeps spinning, keeps throwing glitter around in shining, shimmering arcs, before it seems to run out and slowly come to a halt.

By the time it does this, everything is covered in glitter. Julian's office. Julian himself. T'Strei. Julian is half out of his chair, glitter falling out of his hair, staring at the box with wide eyes. T'Strei is standing like she's frozen, glitter caught in her cranial ridges and piled thick on her broad shoulders, also staring at the box with a look of complete shock.

Julian slowly looks up at T'Strei. The motion sends a rain of glitter down his face. "T'Strei?"

It's all she can do to reply, "Yes, Doctor?"

"I'm going to kill the Major."
