hi! I saw your post about the why episode title change why 11 scenes cut why lamp etc etc and I know some of it but not all, and I was hoping you could elaborate on spngateâ if itâs not too much troubleâ or point me in a direction where I can join you in the spn gate?
I feel ashamed for HOW LONG i let this ask just rot in my askbox (it's from january, apparently, now it's april. i thought maybe two weeks passed but NO. it was months. ANON I AM SO SO SO SO SORRY. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART) but now with the power of this url and the wine i am currently sipping, let me give you the best, most thought-out answer that i possibly can.
I don't know how long you've been following/watching spn, so I won't get into real deep iceberg theories that go back to season 8 and jeremy carver, for the purpose of this essay answer I'll just stick to the year anno domini 2020, and will try to do my best to tell you what happened.
Okay, maybe 2019. So, in june 2019, when the first scripts and drafts for s15 are presented, these things happen: 1. apparently, according to Berens, the confession scene is the first thing that was written for season 15. 2. Jensen Ackles is sat down and asked if he would be okay with this. (question is asked: why would they ask jensen if all he does in this scene is look at cas, he doesn't say anything, he does not confess, it changes nothing about his character, etc.; if you put the real tjlc tinfoil hat on you'd ask hey , maybe they asked him if precisely that is okay, if he is okay with the fact dean is practically silenced here but that's Deep) 3. Jensen apparently is okay with that, because it happens.
also this thing happens around the same time: 1. they write the ending for the brothers, and no matter what version of the finale we're talking about, Dean dies 2. Jensen Ackles is Not Okay with this. he calls Kripke who then, in a call and/or email assures him it's a good ending (Jensen says that) and also very quickly after that Jensen is announced to play Soldier Boy in Kripke's The Boys. make of that what you want
They film, blah blah, march 2020, covid happens, they stop production right after they film the confession. Last episode to air is 15x13, last episode they film is 15x18, they almost have a plane crush when flying to vegas con, and then, a loooong break until august 2020. Now, from what we know, there were two versions of the finale - the pre-covid finale they were supposed to film if the filming schedule wasn't interrupted, and the finale that happened.
What was supposed to be in the Original Finale/Pre-Covid Finale, we still don't know exactly, but from what the cast said, there was supposed to be a big cast reunion, Harvelle's Roadhouse in Heaven, Kansas Band (why are they dead?) playing there after Dean gets there and so on.
Anyway. July 2020. Misha does a livestream with Michael Sheen (the SuperGood campaign) where he says he is going back to filming the last two episodes in a few weeks. he said it LIVE. it's on youtube. people analyze the background from Misha's livestreams and photos and conclude he is in Vacouver, where spn is filmed. He also says that he is going back filming in a few interviews. Also here.
August 2020. They go back to filming in august 2020 to film 15x19 and 15x20.
August 20th, 2020, Misha's birthday.
I wasn't on set TODAY. so casual. of all days i wasn't there today.
August 24th, 2020, day 6/8 of filming 15x19, Angel with a Shotgun is hash tag Song of The Day while filming scenes of 15x19 (scene 28, 31).
September 4th, 2020. ALL THEY FILM, for the whole DAY, is one scene. They usually film a few. They film one. Song of the day? The Night We Met.
Somewhere before the episodes starts to air again, Dabb says only 30% of the audience will like the finale. Anyway, everyone concludes, Misha is filming, destiel is more or less going canon, but everyone including bibros is sure Misha is filming and will be there for the finale.
Originally, "Despair" was called "The Truth".
Finale airs.
It feels shorter (apparently it's not) but it does have an additional ad break. For Walker. But it feels shorter because of the "carry on my wayward son" cover montage that lasts too long and later it's discovered thanks to scripts that dropped that there are ELEVEN scenes that were filmed,, but didn't make it to the episode. The script that drops is also very telling, where scenes are just [OMMITTED]. It was explained that they wanted to have actor there but they didn't want actors to quarantine for two weeks to film one or two scenes BUT then that's exactly what they did with Jim Beaver lmao.
So yeah. I also remember Misha at a con (DarkLight?) where, after asked about the original ending, he answers that the original ending was something that would be better explored in fanfiction anyway. Theory rises he filmed and was cut off the episode without his or Jensen's knowledge because Misha sat down his kids to watch the spn finale (which was the first episode they were supposed to watch ever, why would he do that if he's not there?) and then, CW SPN twitter posts a goodbye video that has everyone from the cast and their mother BUT MISHA AND JENSEN ARE NOT THERE. Jensens sexy silence starts.
THEN THE WILDEST THING HAPPENS.
November 25th, the Spanish Dub. 15x18 drops in Brazil and Dean says "and i you" to Cas, after he confesses. No "don't do this cas" but "and i you". Tumblr stops working for two hours, people on discords are screaming, no one knows whats happening, someone claims Jensen was called in September 2020 to record some adlibs? To record the muffled sobs Dean does while on the floor. Theory is supported by the fact that in the Bazil version? When Dean sits on the floor? The sound that plays are birds. Chirping birds. Sounds don't match, what was Dean saying while crying on the floor, question arises.
Everyone decides there was a Rogue Translator who managed to hide from The CW Sniper (who is the reason actors just dont tell us everything) and translated some kind of Original Script. Voice Actors are invited to a podcast where they debunk this saying that it was added because the translator felt this was the right response or something like that. Anyway they debunk the fact that there existed, at any time, a version of a script, that maybe was send to them, where Dean says I love you too. This was a wild night, no one slept.
And like. I could make this post longer, but I am planning to, one day, make a huge masterpost with real sources about that because honestly you could write a book about it.
But tl;dr spngate is a theory that misha did film for the last 2 episodes and the changes they made were truly last minute (september 2020), they were going for a canon destiel, possibly human!cas engame, dabb was always on our side, and it's based on stuff like jensen actively hating the ending to the point he made his prequel after 2 years of radio silence, 11 scenes just cut from the finale, misha saying he is going back filming, and people like mark pellegrino saying the last scene he filmed was with alex and misha. also the onion field. why lamp is the theory that cas is represented and symbolized by lamps throughout the show and when dean dances with a Lamp in a drug induced dream instead of, say, some kind of a lady he is actually thinking about cas.
also there are little things like when jensen at an online con before the finale says that oh yes i am wearing a grey flannel but tomorrow? who know it could be blue and green. and we all collectively lost our shit. like when he said he is most excited to "tackle" with cas in season 15. or that "dean has no taste, clearly". WHY WAS YOUR PERMISSION NEEDED JENSEN
there are a lot of things i didn't mention here because i simply can't unflod this whole thing just like that but
but if you understand this picture you might be entitled to financial compensation

Thoughts on this?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 2024 is even a little optimistic in terms of a release for Stranger Things 5.
I know right now there's been this assumed expectation that it will release in 2024, and that's definitely still possible! But from what we've seen, no one from the production, neither the Duffers, the cast, nor Netflix themselves have said 2024 will be the year s5 releases, definitively. (If I remember correctly, when asked in an interview about s5 coming out in 2024, Noah dodged the question and said that they want it to be really good and are going to try to get it out as soon as they can... if anything he was trying to hint here that fans should be prepared that it might not be 2024, but that's okay bc that means that quality is being considered over a speedy release).
Again there have been talks about it, and I'm sure that's what they're shooting for. But they don't seem to be making any official statements about 2024 being a for sure thing. Because I mean, how could it be?
Covid did a really big number on the industry, especially production for ST4. Not only that but workers are starting to unionize and fight back against long hours, shitty wages and unsafe working conditions.
And so there's this unknown looming. Could the global pandemic reach a point that causes the industry to come to a halt again? Could there be a strike that stops productions from filming, including ST5? There's just a lot of unforeseen factors to keep in mind.
Our perception of how fast shows should be cranking out between seasons, are from a rose-tinted lens and honestly a little bit naive. We're not taking into account that those same expectations we have are based on an industry that has thrived off of malpractice for decades.
So, would I be mad if ST5 came out in 2025? No.
Also important to note that this is the end. I know that a lot of fans are impatient and just want the final season ASAP, but even so, when we do get it, it's over after that. There's nothing else to look forward to for fans when it comes to these characters. Arguably, hiatus will be the time we'll look back on and miss most when this is all over. So enjoy theorizing and analyzing during the wait while you still can!
And again, let's keep in mind, a sooner release means they might have to rush and make quick decisions that impact the story negatively, with them settling for results that could have been better had they had more time. Whereas a later release, or at least later than we may have hoped, will probably mean they got the essential time they needed and therefore a lot better quality for the final cut.
David Harbour said late last year that filming will start in the summer. Noah just mentioned a few times recently that he starts filming in May. But it was also mentioned in an interview promoting WYFSTW with Finn that filming would be starting in March.
Who knows for sure right now, it'll probably require us getting closer to the start to know. But the good news is once filming starts, they'll tell us! However, this does bring up an important aspect of all of this that fans also don't seem to take into consideration, which is scheduling.
The main cast are all hot commodities now, with most of them having multiple productions to film in one single year. And so, imagine trying to get about a dozen A-B listers schedule's to overlap? It's not easy.
Though from what I've read, David is dealing with schedule issues because he's filming another movie at the same time as s5. And Noah specifically mentioned school being a factor when he brought up filming starting in May for him. And so it's possible overall production for s5 could be starting sooner than we think, with some main cast-members starting earlier/later than others.
I think the main good news (everyone cheer) is that we have no new characters for s5. And so I think that will allow filming to take a little less time. S1 was a lot smaller scale in terms of the characters focused on, with production going from September 2015 to early 2016 and with a release in July that same year. But s1 was also very very small scale in comparison to what s5 will be. While filming for s5 will definitely be shorter than s4 in terms of over overall running time, it'll still be longer and just in general bigger than s1.
I'm gonna take an educated guess and say at least 9 months for filming s5, but it's possible they could run up to a year because of scheduling issues, unexpected delays, unforseen events, with some cast-members potentially working earlier/later than the majority of the production. Best case scenario, filming could be done by December 2023, and that's taking into account filming may indeed not start fully until May 2023. This would give them roughly 8-10 months of filming.
And that's not even including post-production for VFX, which is likely going to take upwards of 6 months at least, because the upside down is expected to be a main setting for the story in s5, meaning a lot more time spent working on visual effects despite filming already being complete. Then there's editing and all that good stuff. And don't even get me started on marketing (they're watching us rn taking notes for ST5 social media promo... Smile and wave boys!)
Again, I do think 2024 is possible, though it would have to be later in 2024. Summer 2024 is still a little too optimistic, but I wont rule it out bc they love summer releases.
March 22nd on the other hand, is very much pushing it, as they'd only be like 2 months into VFX at that point.
Though, I could see the vision of this, assuming it released in 2025 (lands on a Saturday that year, but still according to new theories March 21st is potentially an important date related to Henry/Vecna and it's the day s4 started the story off, so that's possible!)
March 21st 2025 would be my ideal date if they had to push it further out to a 2025 release. And that is a big possibility, which is why I think they're not out here comfortably sticking to a year right now.
It's also likely that when we find out the official year of release, we'll get a poster potentially or some kind of short teaser hyping up the final season.
ST5 2025 is kind of iconic. But I guess we'll just have to see!
Even though I don't think March 22nd 2024 is possible, it would be cool to get some major news on that day, like an exact release date for the final season maybe? That would be birthdaygate proof in and of itself.
#stranger things#byler#not byler related but you guys deserve the 411#I KNOW it sucks but...#i also really care about the cast and everyone working on the show that they don't have to be up days upon days upon days#upon weeks upon months#if they don't have to be#VFX also takes a lot of time i feel like that gets overlooked#and s5 will very much be a case of VFX taking up a lot of time#we're talking final grand battle level VFX...#also marketing takes up a good chunk of time over this entire wait period between seasons#and so it's not like even if hypothetically they were all done with filming and editing that they could just jump right to release#marketing is also well planned out#we're talking sponsorships with doritos and monopoly#that shit takes time and it all takes time#late 2024 I could see#though early 2025 is also largely a big possibility#still maybe we'll get an official exact release date announcement on march 22nd 2024...#announcing it on will's birthday...#apparently a day they completely forgot...#birthdaygate would be so real#stranger things 5#and tbh i'm a birthdaygate early s5 maybe even s5 opener truther#so i could see them giving into hinting at it more blatantly as we get closer to the release#st5 predictions#filming#production

On Jan. 5, a top talent agent cut their stay at a post-Golden Globe party short, rushing home to get a jump on all the work that had piled up during the holiday break. Two days later, that home would burn down in the wildfires that decimated the Pacific Palisades and Altadena areas of Los Angeles in addition to part of Malibu. The work that felt so pressing just hours before didnât matter as much in the face of unimaginable personal loss.
Thatâs a sentiment felt across the entertainment industry, which was hit hard by the disaster, with people left homeless by the fires at every media company, talent and PR agency, sometimes at the highest level. Non-urgent meetings have been rescheduled, important decisions have been postponed and work has shifted to remote or hybrid as hundreds of staffers under evacuation warnings had to leave or be ready to do so at a momentâs notice.
While Deadline has received a couple of complaints about individual media departments allegedly making staffers work under duress, including while evacuated, there has been a prevalent sense of camaraderie and people showing up for each other across the industry, whether it is executives keeping scheduled meetings just to check in on colleagues and make sure they are OK or a boss stepping in to help a lower-level staffer who has lost their home navigate insurance companies or a person setting up a Venmo account for a co-worker whose house burnt down. The major studios and talent agencies have provided displaced employees with free or discounted temporary housing. CAA gave its employees Friday off at the end of an emotionally draining week.
âI havenât seem people come together like this since Covid,â one entertainment executive said.
Flexibility is expected to continue in the coming days, with evacuated staffers in Los Angeles given the option to work from home.
Local TV production, which was paused in the early days of the fires, has resumed, largely indoors, as air quality in many areas Los Angeles remains at hazardous levels. There are often accommodations for cast or crew. For instance, those impacted by the fires or not able to safely make it to set of CBS Studios shows are under no obligation to do so while receiving their regular pay.
âPeople are being mindful that we need to take care of below-the-line workers who just came out of a pandemic and two strikes and are finally getting on their feet,â one TV executive said. âWe have to make sure not to derail that too much while also making sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.â
One of the popular slogans during the post-strike, industry contraction-impacted 2024 was âSurvive Til 2025.â While there had been skepticism recently whether the much needed Hollywood recovery would come in 2025 or be pushed down the road, there still had been anticipation and enthusiasm. During the Golden Globe parties just a week ago, streaming executives spoke of plans to ramp up buying in January and hand out green lights in February.
With so many writers, producers, directors, their representatives as well as executives at every level impacted by the fires, it has been hard to focus on day-to-day buying and selling with many in the business still in shock from the enormity and gravity of the devastation that has touched directly or indirectly virtually everyone in Hollywood. Trying to carry on with work may remain difficult for awhile.
âSome people canât get to grips with going to work,â one film distribution vet said. âHow do you think about work with all this going on? So many things are being pushed.â
Eventually, things should go back but it could take awhile. âThereâs no telling when things will return to normal, whatever normal means now,â an agency insider said.
While being cautious, an LA-based film sales and finance executive had a different outlook. âItâs still quite early to know the impact on the business,â the person said. âWhatâs sure is this is very bad for an already ailing broader LA economy. The next couple of weeks may well be slower than usual but Iâm not expecting many projects to be delayed.â
Out of sensitivity to the personal tragedy experienced by so many Angelenos who were left with just the clothes of their backs, entertainment companies have held back announcements, and virtually every major Hollywood event over the past week had been canceled or postponed, including film and TV premieres and awards nominations.
Undestandably, awards season has come to a halt because the last thing on everyoneâs mind right now is celebrating. That will be tested at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, which is proceeding with its 2025 edition, starting in 10 days.
âThere is likely to be some impact,â one festival regular said about the festivalâs timing so soon after the fires. âSome cast and industry may have been impacted already so will be thinking about rebuilding their homes and others may not want to leave their homes given concerns about fires, looting and burglary.â
The festival will have to walk the thin line between an industry that is grieving with its own while trying to keep going.
âItâs devastating seeing so many people â including friends â impacted like this,â a leading international seller said. âSundance is rolling towards us and so far our packaging has been unaffected. It feels more important than ever to get jobs into the film business.â
While Sundance is only days away, a lot could happen between now in then, with evacuation orders still in place and winds picking up to dangerous levels again this week, prompting many in Hollywood to take a wait and see approach.
âWe all know people who have lost their homes, everything they own, so itâs hard to focus on more than that, especially if you are someone who has lost your home,â an agency executive said. âThere is too much uncertainty to think beyond the next few days.â

It's funny how Marvel has this amazing cast in the MCU, but the acting is always lacking, because they don't want to tell the actors anything, let them be part of the process over a fear of... What, exactly? Spoilers? Every movie they have is leaking, people know comics...
Take a look at the TV shows that they had no choice but give all the scripts to the actors and let them keep it to work. How much better the acting is.
Even if I have my reservations regarding Elizabeth Olsen, there's a reason she and Hanh have being nominated in practically every acting award.
They have a bunch of Oscar winners, that we know can make a wonderful work (just like Sebastian Stan). The only reason they don't it's this ridiculousness over spoilers and scripts
People know my thoughts about the TFATWS script so I'm not going to comment on the acting in that LOL
I think what's probably better is comparing Avengers 1 to Avengers 3 and 4. I remember for A1, Tom Hiddleston said he and Joss Whedon had multiple discussions about Loki's frame of mind, which made his character multi-layered, complex, and also consistent with what we saw in Thor. For A3 and A4, they had Oscar winner Brie Larson looking non-committal and inconsistent with how she was in Captain Marvel. Everyone else looked equally uncertain in any scenes that required consistency and knowing the big picture.
I think at some point the actors are going to find the appeal of pretending to be a superhero not worth the disrespect they get for their jobs. I'm already hearing some disgruntlement from the way Benedict Cumberbatch talks about his role in Dr Strange 2. It used to be trying to deal with the gruelling schedule of getting into shape and the physically demanding filming process, followed by long, exhausting press tours (which luckily because of Covid has been very limited). Remember how they'd be going to comic con after comic con years before and after the movie? Then there's the actual press conferences, the days of interviews, the travelling, the pretending you get along with your co-stars. All of that they did because of yes, money and fame, but also because most of them are great actors. They love their job and being able to bring something interesting and complex to the characters.
There's now the insidious creep of the green screen and...the prop on a stick. They're asked to act in front of minimally immersive sets, which...okay, some of them have done theatre and are probably happy to work with that. But now they don't even have a full script? They don't even know where their character is heading towards emotionally? They don't even know what the line they say will mean in the context of the story?
I mean, a lot of them have had to take dud roles in their career and I guess a job's a job, but signing up to a franchise like this is a lot of commitment (hence Chris Evans' hesitation) and some of the more seasoned actors might be in the stage in their career where they'd prefer to be doing something more personally meaningful and rewarding, and I suspect the MCU is becoming less and less so with the way they're treating their actors.

Please note Iâm not trying to make light of the pandemic or the virus and those impacted by it. Itâs a very real and serious thing, which is why I decided to use it. Please stay safe and healthy, follow the local health guidelines and if you have the ability please get vaccinated. Letâs keep ourselves and one another safe, frens :)
When Y/N got the call sheâd gotten the role of Jackâs ex-wife whoâd disappeared in mysterious circumstances, she was over the moon. As a Marvel alumnus, she was excited to work with Florence, as sheâd loved Midsommar, and knowing she was going to be one of the new faces carrying the next Marvel chapter, she wanted to get to know her. Having played Tony Starkâs adopted daughter since the age of six, she was very protective of the franchise but was excited to see where itâd go.
Then Shia LaBeouf, Chris Pine as well with Dakota Johnsonâs announcements coming soon after, Y/N got even more stoked, and with Olivia Wilde leading all of them, she was sure the movie would be a hit.
Shia and Dakota had to drop out due to scheduling issues (which Y/N couldnât lie â she was kind of happy Shia couldnât do it), and that's where Harry Styles took over the role of Jack with Kiki Layne Dakotaâs Margaret.
Now, when Y/N had seen Harryâs picture next to the re-cast e-mail the whole production had been sent out, she mightâve had a little (a massive, like a ginormous) freak-out. As much as sheâd grown up listening to classic rock, due to Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man, sheâd been an avid One Direction fan. Like to the point, it might even seem a bit creepy. Y/N had sort of grown out of the obsessive phase of it all, but most definitely admired the solo albums theyâd been able to produce, and when Dunkirk came out, she was excited to see Harry join the acting world, with the amount of talent he had.
The first table read was sort of awkward, and definitely the weirdest one, given how a pandemic had started, and everyone was at their respective homes using Zoom.Â
Y/N and Florence had been the first to join the conversation about half an hour before the official beginning, and by the time everyone else did, they were crying from laughter and had to excuse themselves from their computers to collect whatever remaining composure they had.Â
âYou two alright?â Oliva Wilde had raised her eyebrow, as the women re-joined, still chuckling. âWill we have to use body doubles for the scenes you two are in?â
    âNo!
âNohooo!â both of them yelled through laughter. âWeâll be as professional as professionals are. Which is very professional.â
Then Y/N made the mistake of glancing at Florenceâs square, and the two busted out laughing again, spewing apologies in between, but no one seemed to really mind. In fact, it looked like they appreciated how casual and open everyone was being, hoping the set wouldnât be stiff either when they moved onto filming.
And for the two women, it wasnât really. Actually, they grew closer than ever. The amount of time Florence spent in Y/Nâs trailer was to the point that the two started to talk about just moving in together. After scouring the nearby apartments for rent, they settled on a three-bedroom apartment, as two-bedroom ones were non-existent.Â
When Harry grew closer to them as well, given how he spent quite some time with both women, they suggested he move in as well.
âYou know, what? I changed my mind. Youâre taking away our closet, and I don't like that,â Y/N pouted, watching as Florence lifted a pile of her clothes and moved it to her room. âThatâs not very âtreat people with kindnessâ of you.â
All he did was flick a finger at her forehead, which Y/N swatted away with a smile. When heâd double-checked about moving in with them (which, mind you was the seventh time, and half his stuff was already there), the two women were ecstatic. They got along amazingly on set and basically having a sleepover with friends every night suited all of them quite well.Â
At that moment, Y/N was sitting on the edge of her bed, knitting while Harry painted all of their toes and Florence put on facemasks.
âWine!â Y/N suddenly exclaimed, almost knocking over the light blue nail polish bottle as she jumped up, throwing her needles back on the bed. âWe need wine!â
âDo not ruin my masterpiece!â Harry hollered after her, as she waddled away on her heels, toes separated by foam and hight up in the air. She even had to manoeuvre around the carpet to avoid any hairs and fibres that could get stuck inside the still wet lacquer.
It took her a second to find a bottle all three of them could enjoy, given their tastes were so different â Y/N preferred sweet and red, and didnât care if it was a three-dollar bottle from Target, Harry had a bit more of an expensive pallet, giving preference to something with a more of a lingering aftertaste and in the higher ranges of price point, while Florence liked rosĂ© and white wines. Â
Taking two glasses in one hand and the bottle with a third glass between her fingers, she shuffled back to her room when she heard the two muttering something in low voices before Harry whispered harshly, âIâm not telling Y/N that!âÂ
âWonât me what?â Y/Nâs question made him and Florence spring back where theyâd been engaged in a heated conversation when she re-entered the room, putting the wine bottle and glasses on the nightstand.
Florence waved her off, giving her a smile, she didnât believe in. âNothing. Now come on, Harry will do your fingernails now, and I think itâs about time the mask came off.â
And thatâs when Y/Nâs heart dropped. Sheâd been in the industry long enough to know how fake people could be, how they could put on smiles so inviting and friendly while hiding their true intentions behind them. She just didnât think two people sheâd found so genuine and sweet would be like that.
And the thing was â it wasnât the first time sheâd heard the two whispering like that and hushing up when they saw her enter the room or even come somewhere near to them.Â
In the beginning, Y/N had chalked it up to the two being closer, given they had to spend more time together, so they knew one another better, but this time sort of solidified it wasnât the fact the two were closer, it had to deal with Y/N specifically.
So, she started to distance herself. Sheâd had enough users in her life to last her for the rest of it. Y/N excused herself from the movie nights they had on most Fridays, she no longer joined in on the cooking sessions and mostly spent time in her room, or on work calls.
When she re-entered the flat, four weeks after their falling out, they watched as she nodded to them, and went inside her room, closing the door, much like sheâd been doing for the past thirty days.Â
âDo you think she knows?â Harry asked, brows furrowed and bottom lip between his teeth as he hoped the doors would open, yet, obviously, they didnât.Â
âWell, I havenât told her, and unless you did, then I doubt itâŠâ
Harry stood up, running a hand through his hair. âIâm gonna talk to her.â
âYou think itâs a good idea?â
âNo, but if sheâs upset maybe she needs to talk to someone.â
âOr maybe she wants to be alone.â
Harry bit his lip thinking over Florenceâs words. When he was upset about something, he himself did like to kind of retreat and become a little bit of a recluse, to sort out his emotions before anyone else tried to jump in and help with it, but the thing was â Y/Nâs distancing started the night when sheâd walked in on the two of them arguing, and itâd been about the girl in question herself, so he shook his head. âIâll just ask if sheâs alright.â
He took a deep breath and went to enter the room he hadnât seen in almost a month. âHey.â Harry poked his head through Y/Nâs door, making her swirl around in her chair. She looked adorable to him. Sheâd changed into a big fluffy nightgown, the hood up, a headband pushing hair away from her face with a green facemask covering her skin. The domestic life flashed through Harryâs head like a freight train, as it was something he craved, but pushed it away. There was no daydreaming before figuring out what was in front of him in reality. âYou okay?â
â 'M fine.â She shot him a quick smile. âWhy? Did Olivia send something new for the script?â
âUm, no, âs just youâve been, I dunno â detached a bit?â
âLook, Harry⊠I may be younger than you, but Iâve been in this industry longer than you or Florence.â Y/N stood and shrugged before crossing her arms. âAnd the thing is â I donât care for shit like that. So, you two can gossip and whisper and talk whatever you want about me behind my back. Everyone else is doing that so, youâre not that special. Butâ Iâd prefer if you did it somewhere else besides my room, my space, and Iâll say this once, but very clearly â weâre not friends. I donât need friends like you. Weâll be civil and weâll do our jobs, butâŠâ Harryâs heart broke at her eyes, seeing the pain in them as she nodded and made sure he understood where she stood. âWeâre not friends.â
She didnât leave any room for argument. When Harry left, Y/N didnât even look over her shoulder to see him exit.
The next couple of mornings she didnât see them leave nor come back, seeing as Y/N had the week off from filming, but the morning of the seventh day was awkward as hell, given how all of them had to go and get tested, and well, they had their allocated time slots one after the other. Usually, theyâd take one car together, but this time, Y/N drove off on her own, while Harry and Florence carpooled on their own.
The tests were always nerve-wracking. If one person went down, the whole production did for at least two weeks. And as much as she hated going in alone, she was glad no one was with her in the car, because as she stepped out, a certain notion swept over her that this would be a lot different than usual.
A doctor dressed head to toe in protective gear motioned for her to sit down, as another processed her ID and work ID. Her leg was bouncing up and down the whole time, and he eyed her. If she could see his lips, she was sure theyâd be pursed. âAnything wrong?â He handed her back the IDs before moving to the table where a set of large q-tips seemed to lay in sterile packs.
Y/N sighed, biting her lip and nodded. âWoke up with a sore throat and a small cough appeared on my way here as well. I wiped and cleaned everything down at the apartment Iâm staying at and wore gloves and a mask the whole time.â
âAnything else?â the doctor asked, writing down each word as Y/N said. âThe feeling of breaking bones, fever, muscle pain, eyes hurting when you look up, lost sense of smell or taste?â
âNo, nothing like that. Just a sore throat and a small cough.â
The doctor let out a large sigh, probably from having to wear a full-on hazmat suit. âAlright. Just for safety reasons, so we know whoâs a potential contact person, who are you staying with?â
âFlorence Pugh and Harry Styles. Weâre renting an apartment together.â
âDo you know if theyâve had any symptoms?â
âNo,â Y/N shook her head honestly. âAnd I havenât really interacted with them this past week, as theyâve been on set, and I didnât have any scenes to film, and by the time they get back, Iâm already asleep, and Iâm still asleep when they leave so thereâs been no direct contact. We have our own kitchenware, so there shouldnât be any direct contact. I think.â
That last bit was half-true, seeing as she hadnât been asleep when they came back, but she might as well have been. The second Y/N heard the door click, sheâd place her headphones on or leave the room, only glimpsing the two faces falling as she did that.
The doctor clearing his throat and motioning for Y/N to open her mouth so he could take a swab and then to do the same for both her nostrils, was what brought her out of it. She was so used to it, it was like nothing at that point. âOkay. Weâll need you to stay in the car while the test is being run, and if it comes back positive, youâll be placed in a separate flat, as to not endanger the rest.â
Her âalrightâ was barely audible. Fuck. It just felt like the universe was against her. First, the two people sheâd gotten closest to were whispering behind her back and being fake to her face, now she might have a super contagious virus to which there was no medicine really, nor was there a vaccine, let alone the thought sheâd have to miss filming for potentially more than two weeks.
The thirty minutes of wait were agonizing, her leg bouncing up and down. Y/Nâs eyes kept watching the line of cars slowly move forward through the tent and then settle behind hers. She knew Harry was about five cars away, and she was glad he wasnât closer. They werenât really allowed to get out of their vehicles while the tests were being run, and Y/N didnât think sheâd be able to not look back at him through her review mirror.Â
Two more minutes passed when finally, one of the med students in the full hazmat suit came up and knocked on her car window.
    âMiss Y/L/N?â
    âYes?âÂ
âID please.â It was standard so that no med info got leaked. The only reason she had to rummage through her stuff was, because sheâd bite the little plastic card in half if she didnât throw it somewhere deep inside her bag.
âSo.â The man sighed, and he didnât need to elaborate. Y/N understood, but still, he had to confirm it to her. âYour test came back positive for COVID-19. The production has been informed, and for safety reasons, everyone will have to self-isolate for two weeks.â
Y/Nâs head slammed against the back of the seat. âFuck. Okay.â
âBecause so far, youâre the only positive case, youâll be placed into quarantine. Weâll need the address youâre staying at, and if you need anything from your apartment, we can send someone over to grab a few things. Youâll have to follow the black SUV right there.â He pointed further down the lot where indeed a black SUV stood. âTheyâll take you to where the quarantine apartments are. Is there anything immediate youâll need?â
âI â uh â I need my pills, my birth control that is. I take it every evening. Computer, chargers. Thatâs the most immediate I can think of. Maybe some food? I didnât get the chance to eat breakfast.â
Even through the mask, Y/N could see the man smile. âWell arrange that. In the meantime, hereâs the number for the coordinators whoâll get you the rest of your things and deliver them to you.â
âThank you. Iâll call my assistant, and sheâll drive down to the apartment. She knows where everything is.â
âHave you been in close contact with her?â
âJust through the phone. She hasnât been on set in almost a month, as I told her only to come when itâs an emergency⊠Guess this is it.â Y/N let out an awkward chuckle.
And truly that was it. With one last motion as to where the SUV stood, she started back up the engine, reversed out of the spot and followed the car to where the âDonât Worry Darlingâ production had set up a few quarantine apartments, specifically for actors and crew, speed-dialling her assistant Anna and letting her know of the situation.
âShit, girl,â sheâd cursed. âThat sucks.â
    âTell me about it.â
âOkay,â Anna huffed. âDo you have a spare key for the apartment by any case or do I need to go down to the lot and ask Harry or Florence?â
âBoth of them will be at the apartment, given how everythingâs shut down, so they should be able to open the door for you. Hopefully, if both of them are negative. If not, call me, Iâll tell you where we hide the spare. Thank you, Anna.â
    âOf course.â
As Y/N pulled up behind the SUV, a man and a woman in face guards and masks stepped out. She ended the call and stepped out as well, pulling on a cloth face mask, an envelope in their hands, which they handed to her.
âYour flatâs on the third floor, 367. When you have the list of things you need, forward them to us, and weâll gather your things.â
Y/N nodded and gave them a tight smile. âThank you. Iâll be as quick as I can.â
With a sigh, she took her bag and entered the complex. As much as sheâd only had a small cough in the morning and a sore throat, walking up those flights of stairs made her winded more than it usually would. Maybe it was the knowledge she had a sickness, or maybe it was stress about missing work and putting everyone on lockdown, or maybe it was the combination of it all with her falling out with Harry and Florence on top.
She placed the key in the lock and twisted, revealing a studio type apartment, and it was so bare it made her heart clench. As much as she felt awkward being around Florence and Harry, their flat was a bit messy, had little pieces of clothing thrown around, giant knitted blankets on the sofas, a candle always lit whenever someone was home. Harryâs shoes were typically all over the place while Y/Nâs make up was scattered around everywhere. Literally. Florence and Harry had gotten back early one morning from a night shoot and found her looking under the sofas for one of her lash glues as she started to get ready for the day. Theyâd made that flat their home for the time being. This⊠this was nothing like that.
She threw the keys on the small kitchen counter and shrugged off her jacket. They was going to be a long two weeks. At best.
 ***
Back at their place, Florence and Harry were pacing around, having heard the news that someone was positive, and everything had to shut down for the time being, yet Y/N was nowhere to be seen when a knock at the door disrupted them.
Harry was there and flinging it open in a matter of a second, only to be stopped by Anna instead of Y/N.
âHey.â His brows furrowed as she and two people all wearing masks and gloves entered. âWhatâs going on? Is Y/N alright?â
Anna sighed, nodding her head for the two strangers to go towards the womanâs room. âShe was the one who tested positive for the virus. Gave me a list of the things sheâd need while in quarantine. Weâre here to pick âem up and get them to her.â
âAnd sheâs not doing that here?â
âPer the safety instructions, sheâs been placed in a separate flat in self-isolation.â
âShe couldâve done that here. Weâd be fine with it,â Florence butted in, arms crossed over her chest. âWeâre more than willing to take care of her. Sheâll need someone to help her.â
âYou both tested negative.â One of the people piped up, carrying a box of books and yarn. âIâm sorry, but sheâll have to quarantine separately until sheâs no longer infected. Sheâs under the supervision of doctors, and she knows if an emergency happens, theyâll be there in ten minutes tops. Iâm sorry, but this is how it has to be.â
Harry sighed, nodding as the people exited their place, but before Anna could leave, he took hold of her bicep. âHey, can you please tell her to call me? I just wanna talk.â
âI uh â â Anna furrowed her brows, showing Harry that Y/N hadnât said anything to her about the falling out theyâd had. âIâll uh, yeah. Iâll do that.â
With that he was left to close the door and just wait for⊠anything.
 ***
In the two hours Y/N had spent in the apartment, she already felt like going insane, having been left alone with her thoughts, so how she was going to do another two weeks after finally getting back into the rhythm of work was beyond her. She didnât have any of her knitting supplies, didnât have any of her books (yet), and most likely there was no reason to look at her script anymore, as sheâd made up her mind about a lot of things.Â
There was a knock at the door, and Y/N instantly had a mask on her face and gloves on her hands. She peeped through the peephole and when she saw boxes lined in the hallway, three people in masks and faceguards at least six feet away, only then did she open the door and give them a wave.
âEverything should be here, but if you need anything else just pop me a message.â Anna then pointed at a bag that sat atop everything. âThere are the most important things, so you donât have to rummage through everything and a pizza is on the way while I do some grocery shopping for you. And umm, thereâs a paper you need to sing that you know you need to be in self-isolation and that you understand what happens if youâre not.â
Y/N hoped all of them understood she was smiling underneath the mask, grateful for having them help her out like that. âThank you. So much.â
She rushed inside found a pen and signed it, moving between the boxes to place the papers on the stairs so that they could be safely retrieved. With that, the two assigned people left, leaving Anna to say goodbye.
âCall me.â She pointed at Y/N. âNo matter what, even if you just wanna talk for five seconds.â
âWill do.â Y/N nodded and gave her a thumbs up. âIf I could, Iâd hug you.â
Anna sighed, cocking her head. âSame. And umm, Harry told me to ask you to call him.â
âYeah, uh thank you.â She knew he probably wanted to talk, so it wasnât that big of a surprise, but it still made her stumble on her words. âTake care, Anna.â
    âYou too.â
***
The next two days Y/N spent worrying as to how to present her decisions to the cast and crew. She felt worse with every hour, and with that had come her thought process, but as much as everyone was going to be impacted by what she was going to do, Olivia would be the one dealing with it most, so later that night she hopped on a Zoom call with her director.
âHey, girl.â Olivia gave her a warm smile, and Y/N almost melted. God, she loved that woman. She was like the older sister she never had. âHow are you doing?â
âIâm alright. Feelinâ kind of woozy from time to time, throatâs killing me, and Iâm fairly certain Iâm getting abs from how much Iâm coughing.â That made both of them chuckle before Y/N bit her lip and ran a hand through her hair. âLook,â she sighed, looking at Olivia. âThe reason I called you is that umm⊠well, I think itâd be a lot more cost-effective for you to re-cast me. Weâve barely shot one scene with me. Iâll be out of commission for two weeks, as a minimum. It could get worse. And Iâm definitely not going to be back before I get two negative consecutive tests.â
Olivia shook her head, running down her hands over her face and then through her hair. âY/N, I really donât want to do this. Thereâs a reason we cast you. Youâre amazing, and yours and Harryïżœïżœïżœs chemistry is off the charts. Weâre all quarantining for two weeks, and Iâm sure youâll be fine in no time, back on set and killing it like you always do.â
    âYou donât know that.â
âOf course, I do! Nothingâs gonna happen to you.â
âAll Iâm saying it could take up to a month to get those two negative tests. By that point, you couldâve shot at least a fourth of my scenes. OliviaâŠâ Y/N gave her a small, sad smile. âI know you know Iâm right. I hate to pass on this, but I wonât hinder the production. If you want my input, Iâll help with the re-casting, if it takes the guilt away.â
âI still feel like shit this is an option we even have to consider.â
ââS not your fault. You didnât get me sick. We should be happy itâs just me, not someone else or more than one person.â
        ***
For two more days, it was radio silence from Y/N, and Harry and Florence were anxious messes. If they could distract themselves from the falling out while on set, then now, having to be cooped up inside the apartment with pretty much nothing to do, was so much worse, not to mention Y/N declined all of their calls and left their messages on read, leaving the only option for checking in either through Anna or what she decided to share on her social media, which wasnât a lot. But the thing was, Harry knew his best bet was to call Y/N in the middle of the night. Disorientated and barely awake, she probably wouldnât look at the caller ID once. And he was right.
A bleary face appeared on his screen, eyes squinting as she tried to block out as much of the light as possible. âHello?â Her voice was scratchy, and Harryâs heart clenched at just how much pain her throat must be in, let alone how she was feeling as a whole.
    âHey, there, lovie.â
It took her a second to comprehend the person who was speaking, and sheâd be lying if she said hearing Harryâs voice didnât bring her some sort of joy. âHey, H. Are you alright? Why are you still up?â
âI couldnât sleep. Kept thinking about you.â
Y/N hummed, rolling on her side, and immediately regretting it as the action elicited a coughing fit. âYeah?â she asked hoarsely. â âNd what about me?â
âHow shitty I feel about everythingâ, âI miss youâ, âIâm so fucking terrifiedâ, but instead he asked, âHow are you doing?â
âAlright,â Y/N croaked out before her body was racked with coughs once more. Harryâs own chest hurt just hearing them. âFeverâs finally down, so Iâm getting some sort of sleep. Throatâs killing me though, and theyâve hooked me up to an IV. Theyâll be coming in two hours or so to change the bag. How are you?â she asked quietly. âHowâs Florence?â
âSheâs alright. Upset. Just like I am.â
Y/Nâs brows furrowed. âWhyâre you upset?â
âAre you kidding me? Youâre sick, alone in quarantine and⊠and we canât help you. I canât help you.â
A genuine chuckle escaped her. âDidnât know you had a medical degree, Styles. Could be my personal nurse. Fetch me my water and shit.â
âNo, but at least Iâd like to be there for you.â
    âHarryâŠâÂ
âI like you,â he said after taking a deep breath, hoping that the break heâd heard in Y/Nâs voice as sheâd said his name wasnât just because of the sickness, but because her heart thudded just as fast as his when he thought of them together, that her mind reeled with the possibilities of where their futures could take them and that whenever they touched, she could feel the electricity that ran through his fingertips, igniting his whole body. âThatâs what Florence and I were whispering about all the time. Is that Iâm madly crushing on you, and I couldnât gather the courage to say it to you.â
A strong coughing fit made her drop the phone on the bed and lean over, as she gasped for breath, and through it all, all Harry wanted was to be there. Fuck him possibly getting the virus, as long as he could make it easier for her in some way.Â
â ïżœïżœïżœM sorry,â Y/N whispered, trying to keep her voice as low as possible as to not aggravate her throat. âHarry, Iâm so sorry.â
âHey, thereâs nothing to apologise. Youâre sick, you canât help ââ
âNo,â she shook her head. âIâm sorry I assumed you and Florence were talking bad behind my back. I never shouldâve done that. And this is not an excuse, Iâm not trying to shift the blame from being in the wrong, but I like you too.â She gave him a shy grin that he thought was as bright as the sun. âI really like you too, Harry. I think thatâs why it hurt so much to hear you two whispering âbout something. And thinking it was about me, and it was something bad, hurt even more, âcause I really connected with Flo, and I kinda, well I kind of fell for you. Hard.â
âYou did?â His tone was like he didnât believe what his ears were hearing.
    âYeah. A lot actually⊠I â I really like you, Harry.â
He couldnât explain how his heart expanded in his chest while simultaneously was being crushed by his inability to help, by the distance between them, while the hope that glimmered in his eyes at Y/Nâs words made her heart break as much as his was, when he asked, âSo you wonât resign?â
âHarry,â Y/N made her voice as tough as it could sound with her condition. âI told them to re-cast me not because of you. Iâve been on enough sets and worked with enough pricks, and still gotten the job done. Genuinely, this is not because of you or Florence. I just â I just donât want to hold up production. Youâll all be out in what â twelve days or something? Iâll be here for at least twice that, if everything goes the way itâs going right now.â
âI donât want anyone else to play Larie. You are my Larie,â he muttered, which made Y/N smile, but in a true Y/N fashion she just wanted to make others feel better.Â
âYou do know Jack murders Larie in the middle of the night.â
Harryâs mouth opened like a fishesâ while Y/Nâs mouth pulled up in a grin. âThatâs â thatâs not what I mean, and you know it!â
Both of them were laughing now, all tension having evaporated.Â
âI know.â She bit on her lower lip. âBut um⊠weâve gotta be practical. I sent Olivia my resignation letter already, and she signed.â
She saw Harry sigh and throw back his head at her words.Â
â âM sorry, Haz. I didnât want to but ââ
âI know.â His smile was gentle, understanding. âYou always put everyone before yourself. God, this just sucks major ass.â
âTrust me,â Y/N started before being interrupted by another major coughing fit. âI â,â she took in a breath. âI know.â
Her heart cracked seeing Harryâs face and his green eyes, the eyes sheâd gotten lost in more times than sheâd ever admitted being lined by tears. âI wish I could help you.â
âBut you are. Just by â by talking to me, by keeping my mind off things. Youâre helping me more than youâll ever know.â
âWhen you get out, Iâm taking you on a date.â
Y/N couldnât help the smile that bloomed on her face. For the first time in a while, she felt good, despite being sick. âIs that a threat, Styles?â
    âItâs a fucking promise.â
That night she fell asleep listening to Harry talking, seeing as it became harder and harder for her to do so, so he just took over, telling her stories that lulled her to dreamland where he was there, and she could touch him.Â
The following days she also had calls with Florence and the rest of her cast to explain the situation, but she wasnât doing much talking anymore, and one night theyâd even seen her almost throw up from coughing so much, which broke everyoneâs hearts. They were lucky the only Covid case before Y/N had been a light one, so witnessing just how brutal it could be, made everyone appreciate what they had, but at the same time, feel as helpless as ever.
A week and a half in, that was when shit really hit the fan. Despite her feeling shitty the previous days, now Y/N woke up from the feeling as if she was drowning. Sheâd fallen asleep while talking with Harry on FaceTime, his features illuminated on her phone. At first, she thought it was just her dream still lingering and causing that effect, but when after a minute or so her lungs still remained on fire, she knew she had to dial the doctors.
In five minutesâ time, an ambulance was at her door, and it was a miracle sheâd been able to get out of bed to open it because the second she did, her whole body pretty much collapsed into the arms of one of the nurses.Â
***Â
âCome on,â Harry muttered into the phone, pulling on a pair of trousers as quickly as possible and a knitted sweater he took from the floor as he immediately tried to redial her, having heard the call drop. âCome on! Pick up, Y/N!â Her voicemail answered instead.
    âDamn it!â
It took Harry seven minutes with the way he was driving to get to her assigned isolation place, only to be greeted by red and blue flashing lights, an ambulance right in front of the entrance, and it took Harry five seconds to feel his heart drop as a team of three doctors wheeled out a gurney on which lay Y/N, face covered in a mask, an IV stuck inside her arm while a huge plastic cover domed over her body.
Without even thinking about himself or his safety, Harry jumped out of his car, rushing towards the ambulance.
âSir.â One of the doctors extended a palm towards him, keeping him back as Harry tried to get towards the inside of the car. âSir, you canât be here.â
âIs that Y/N?â Harry felt like he was spinning out of control, and his mind was dizzy from not being able to take in a proper breath. âIs â is that Y/N?âÂ
    âAre you family?â
âI â,â Harry so desperately wanted to say yes, to say he was her boyfriend at least, but he couldnât lie. âNo, Iâm just her collegue â friend! Iâm her friend. Is she alright?â
âOkay, well is there anyone we can contact from her family?â
Harry nodded, knowing that her mum and dad were on her emergency contact lists. âBut her family is out of the country, and they wonât be able to fly out with all the restrictions in place.â
âAlright.â The doctor sighed before looking back inside the car. In a way, Harry was happy he couldnât see Y/N because he was sure if he did, heâd completely break down and crumble to the ground. âWeâll contact her parents, but if you could leave us your number as an emergency contact on place thatâd be a lot of help.â
âOkay, uhâŠâ Harry took in a deep breath, held it for five seconds and then let it out before reciting the number he used while in the USA and his permanent UK number as well, so he could be reachable anywhere and at any point in day or night, no matter the time.Â
âWell keep you up to date.â
And with that, the ambulance doors shut, and they rushed away, the vailing of sirens echoing in the dark night, leaving Harry with a hand in his hair, tears streaming down his cheeks and without a clue as to what to do.
***
In the end, Harry had gone back to his car and cried for what felt like ages, but instead, it was just twenty minutes. He pulled himself together but was still shaking as he made his way back to the flat where Florence basically ripped open the door. Seeing his face told her everything she needed to know.
âSheâll be alright,â the woman muttered as she soothed Harry by rubbing a palm up and down his back, letting him hide his face in her shoulder. âItâs Y/N. Sheâd pull through an atomic bomb.â
They spent the rest of the night and the following day on the couch, glued to Harryâs phone waiting for any sort of updates. From time to time a text message came from the hospital letting them know what procedures were being done on Y/N, that her parents have been informed, and if necessary, theyâd allowed Harry to be the main contact person because of his proximity to their daughter.
Three days later and the quarantine for the rest of the cast and crew ended, yet when they returned to the set, everyone was in low spirits. Especially, Harry â he was miserable. Every moment spent not reciting lines or acting was occupied with the thoughts of Y/N, how she was doing, was she improving, was she still breathing, how he wanted to just ditch everything and run to her, to help in whatever way he could.
âThis sucks,â Florence grumbled, arms crossed over her chest as they took a break while re-setting already in for the fifth day of filming, eight since Y/Nâd been in the hospital. âCanât believe they wonât allow a phone in with her.â
âItâs the same policy for everyone, but trust me,â Harry sighed and looked up at the bright blue sunny sky above. âThe number of times I got out of my bed in the middle of the night and had the car keys in hand is ridiculous. And the number of times Iâve thought about breaking into that hospital is even more concerning.â  Â
Florence let out a small chuckle and nudged his shoulder. âIâd cover for you if you did. As long as she doesnât have to be there alone.â She hung her head, blond strands falling down to curtain her face. âCanât imagine how scared she must be.â
Harry just sighed. There really wasnât anything he could say.Â
Something vibrated in his pocket, but he no longer furrowed his brows when unknown numbers called, knowing it was from the hospital. It was nerve-wracking though to pick up the call each time because he had to mentally prepare himself for the possibility of bad news, even though he always hoped for good ones.Â
âYes, hi. Hello. I â oh,â he put a hand over his mouth and sagged down onto a chair. âOh, thank god, thank you, doctor. Yeah. Yes, Iâll let her know, and someone will be there to open the flat. Thank you again. For everything.â
He took away the phone from his ear and stared at the ground for a minute before leaping up and hugging Florence, laughter escaping his mouth.
    âWhatâs wrong?â
âNothing. Nothingâs wrong, itâs the opposite. Y/Nâs out of the hospital.â
âOh thank god!â Her hands flew to hug him back.
âSheâll have to stay in self-isolation until the two negative tests and will be monitored by the doctors, but sheâs out.â
Immediately he was dialling her, and Harry had never been as happy for the invention of a video call, because when he saw Y/Nâs face light up the screen, as tired as she looked, it was the most beautiful sight that graced his eyes.
âHey, lovie.â His voice was soft and low as if anything louder would worsen her state.
Her âheyâ was barely audible, but he heard it, and it made the weight of a boulder drop off his shoulders.
âIâm so â I mean we all are so happy youâre back home.â
Y/N smiled, shaking her head. âIâm happy too,â she whispered. âI missed you. Missed everyone, but most of all I missed you.â
Harry was happy they were separated by a screen because if she was anywhere in a five-mile radius, he was sure she would be able to hear his heart beat out of his ribcage at her words. âHow are you feeling?â
â âM alright,â Y/N tried to let him know. âVery tired.â
âThen get back to sleep, lovie.â
Y/N shook her head. âWanna talk to you.â
âIâll keep talking,â Harry promised. âLike we did before, okay.â
    âOkayâŠâ
And so, he did. He kept talking as Y/N listened, and he watched as her eyes slowly closed before she drifted off to sleep. Even though Harry had to go back to filming, he didnât dare end the call. Heâd never end the call.Â
***
It took a month and a half for Y/N to get those two consecutive negative tests, to feel somewhat human again and when she did, she probably garnered at least seven speeding tickets with how fast she was driving down to the set.
It was the most inconspicuous outfit she could scramble together, consisting of a hoodie and baseball cap, as she watched Harry as Jack lean down to peck the actressâs lips, then step into the vintage car and rev out in the driveway, while a dishevelled Florence started the scene from the side, eyes racking over Jackâs first wife, who was dressed the exact same way, hair styled like hers and even nails painted the same, her character putting all the puzzle pieces together.Â
âAnd cut!â Olivia yelled across the lot, nudging Y/Nâs side and giving her a smirk. âHeâs gonna freak. Youâre all heâs been talking about on set. We almost had to put a ban on you as a topic,â she muttered that part so only the woman could hear while telling everyone to re-set, so they could do the scene from another angle, but not before asking the three actors to come and look at the monitors so they could understand how to move in order to keep the continuity.
Y/N moved to the side, ducking her head down as Harry, Florence and Mandy, the actress that took over her role, all leaned closer to watch the monitors. Y/N had to bite on her lip to keep the grin away, as all of them analysed their movements and the scene, nodding along to what Olivia was saying.
âY/L/N, what do you think?â Olivia asked, grinning.Â
Y/N stepped forward a bit, seeing all of their shocked faces through her peripheral, as she pointed to the screen, lifting her head so that everyone could see her face fully. âI think itâs great, you might want to step to the side a bit more, Harry, when ââ but she was unable to finish the sentence as he swooped her in his arms, lifting her basically off the ground, and burying his face in her neck.
âWatch the hair! Daniele will have a fit if you ruin her masterpiece!â Y/N laughed, holding one of her hands on the base of his neck, the other tightly wrapped around his shoulders, but he just shook his head, and she could feel tears splash her skin.
âFuck the hair!â He let out a small chuckle, and she could hear the lump in his throat. âIâve missed you so much. I was so scared.â
âSame,â Y/N whispered. âMissed you like crazy. And your stupid, unfunny dad jokes.â
â âM hilarious, lovie, what are you talking about?â
He finally set her down but didnât let go of her waist, and she smiled cupping his cheeks. âA true comedian, thatâs what you are.â
âI know. Whyâdya think I got that SNL slot?â
But his eyes, as he gazed into hers once more glassed over.
âHey,â Y/N cooed wiping away the tears running down his cheeks. âDonât cry. Please donât cry, cause then Iâll cry, and weâre both gonna be crying messes, and then these guys will have to deal with that.â
Harry sighed, leaning into her touch. âHappy tears, lovie. All happy tears.â
The two looked at one another as if there was no one else in the universe. And for the two of them, there really wasnât. Neither had to say what was on their minds, they already knew.
His face was inching closer to Y/Nâs, and heart started to beat erratically, not that Harry minded, as his palm rested in the middle of her back. In fact, his own heart mimicked the rhythm, but it stuttered when someone behind him cleared their throat and interrupted their moment.
Y/N hid her face in Harryâs chest as he sighed at Oliviaâs raised eyebrow.Â
âYouâll be able to smooch as much as you want, but we need him in hair and make-up.â
    âOli-â
âNow,â she let out a small laugh. âBefore Daniele removes my head from my shoulders.â
âGo,â Y/N patted his side. âIâll still be here.â
    âIs that a threat?â
She grinned up at him. âA fucking promise.â
Harry dashed away like lightning, hoping that the quicker he was done, the sooner he could have Y/N back in his arms even if it was for a second, but her attention was taken by a woman with long blond curls, a flowing green slip on her figure; her steps unsure as was the wave she gave her, but Y/Nâs heart melted at the sight of her.
âHey, Flo,â she whispered and brought the girl in a bone-crushing hug, holding onto her, trying to convey how much she regretted her words and actions, especially because they were unwarranted.
âIâm so sorry,â Y/N said, and she nodded.
    âMe too.â
Y/N shook her head. âYouâve got nothing to be sorry about. I shouldnât have assumed.â
âAnd I shouldâve made sure Harry pulled his head out of his ass.â
That made both of them laugh, and it was nice to do it not only without having to cough up her insides, but to do it with someone sheâd connected with and had become great friends with.
âHe did that. I just hope if he wants to make another move, it wonât take me dying to push him to.â
Florence pointed at her, a serious look on her face. âIâll kill him with my bare hands if he does.â
A small noise of someone clearing their throat from behind Y/N took both of their attentions for them to go onto the actress whoâd been cast as her replacement, the woman coming forward and extending her hand for a handshake with a nervous smile. âHi. Iâm Mandy.â
â âS very nice to meet you.â Y/N tried to give off as open and accepting of a vibe as much as possible, because she genuinely wanted Mandy to feel respected and that she wasnât a threat. âBefore you think anything if youâre worried about me taking the role, donât. Itâs all yours, so donât worry about that. I just stopped by âcause I hadnât seen anyone in almost two months. Never thought Iâd say this, but fuck did I missed people.â
Mandy shook her head, her smile a lot lighter and brighter now. âI â uh thank you for that actually. Iâm a huge fan of yours, and well, can only try and live up to what you wouldâve portrayed.â
âWell, Iâm sure youâll absolutely kill it, and I canât wait for the movie.â
It was great to see Mandyâs shoulders drop in relief. âWould it be too much if I asked for advice on the role?â
âNo,â Y/N laughed. âBut I would say that you should make this role your own. It is yours. You are Larie now. And Harryâs Jack. Make it yours.â
As she said that, she turned to watch Harry who was practically bouncing on his feet, green eyes flitting back to where she was standing, and when their gazes met, neither could help the smiles blooming on their faces.
âYou know he messed up a scene once and said your name?â  Â
Y/Nâs brows furrowed as she looked over at Mandy. âWhat do you mean âsaid my nameâ?â
âIt was a kissing scene. The wedding bit, actually. As Jack and Larie recited their vows, and he leans down to kiss her, he was supposed to say, âIâll love you Larie, until the very endâ. He said your name instead.â
That hit Y/N more than a semi-truck wheeling a ton of bricks would. Yes, she knew Harry liked her, and he knew she liked him, but love was a big word, and for him to admit that, whether it was a flub or not, was even bigger.
Harry was a private person. While he openly talked about what he felt, he guarded heart at the same time, much like Y/N did. But she had to wait until Olivia yelled cut for the day, and had to watch him make a mad dash for hair and make-up before running to the dressing trailer as he didnât want to miss out on a second he could spend with her. Even as they walked up to their shared flat and he opened the door, his fingers stayed intertwined with hers.
âHow does it feel to be back?â
âKinda shitty, honestly,â Y/N laughed throwing the keys to the table and shrugging out of the jacket and taking off the cap, Harry immediately helping her and putting it on one of the racks. âIâll have to move out, now that Iâm not part of the movie.â
âWhy? âS not like the production is paying our rent, weâre doing it out of our own pocket.â
âYes, but now that I donât have a job, I kinda need to look for one.â
âAnd what says that you canât live here while you do that?â
âI â,â Y/Nâs brows furrowed. âI mean nothing, really⊠I just⊠kinda thought because Iâm not part of the movie anymore itâd be safer if I found my own place. But um⊠I think I have something else Iâd like to talk about. Mandy,â Y/N dragged out her name a bit, a sly smirk appearing on her face, âtold me you had a flub on set.â
Harryâs heart was pounding underneath her palm where sheâd grabbed onto the lapels of his dress shirt, so he couldnât run away.Â
âIâve uh,â he let out a nervous laugh. âIâve had a couple of flubs on set. Who hasnât?â
âI donât doubt that. But she said you misspoke a name.â
She made him look into her eyes and wouldnât dare let their gaze break. âYou said my name during the wedding scene. You said Y/N. Not Larie.â
Harry looked like a cross between a deer in headlights and a fish out of the water, eyes wide with his mouth opening and closing, no sound coming out, which made Y/N worry a bit.
She placed a palm against his cheek. âHarry? You alright?â
âI â I meant it.â He let out a deep sigh and leaned down to press his forehead to hers. âAnd when I thought back on it, I donât remember seeing her face or Larieâs face. It was yours. And the lips I was kissing belonged to you too. I was holding your hand, and you were holding mine. And I know itâs way too quick, for a wedding -â
âUnless you threaten me with it ââ
âI â,â Harry stuttered before laughing, all tension evaporating from his body. âNo, that I donât want to be a threat. That will be a question asked with love and hopefully an answer given to it the same way.â
Y/N nudged his nose with hers. âWell, weâll see. I mean if you donât kiss me what makes you thâ,âÂ
But she didnât get a chance to finish the sentence before his lips were on hers, pressing with such gentleness, it made her weak at the knees, and she wouldâve crumbled if Harryâs arms handnât woven around her middle, fingers pressing into the sides, the pressure increasing with each second their mouths were connected.Â
Harryâs hand drifted up Y/Nâs back and settled on her neck as if he could pull her any closer, her own palms slipping over his stomach, pecks and grabbing onto his jaw, fingers lightly scratching at the stubble thatâd grown throughout the day. He had to shave every morning for the role of Jack, but each evening sheâd see a small, darkened shadow across his skin, and Y/N would be lying that when sheâd realised her attraction to him, she hadnât thought about how delicious it would feel to have it leave small burn marks on the inside of her thighs.Â
Unconsciously, she clenched her thighs, trying to create some sort of friction which became more and more unbearable as she felt Harry moan into her mouth, tongue sweeping against her lower lip, asking for permission without words, which Y/N granted without a second to spare.Â
It was heavenly to have him so close to her. She did wonder if the sensation was intensified by the fact, she hadnât been able to touch anyone properly for almost two months, but that thought vanished when his fingers skimmed underneath her hoodie, brushing against her heated skin. No. It was because it was Harry.
âI â,â he was breathless as he pulled away, but Y/N didnât let him get too far, her lips attaching themselves to his neck, making him groan in pleasure. âI donïżœïżœïżœt want to push this too far.â
Her brows scrunched up, as she took a look at him. âWhat do you mean? If you think I donât want this, then let me be perfectly clear â I do. A lot.â
Harry chuckled, shaking his head. âDonât get me wrong, Iâm so fucking glad you do, but⊠Y/N you just got out of the hospital, where you were on a ventilator. I donât want to make anything worse.â
âNot your choice to make.â A devious smile appeared on her face, as she stepped a few feet away and lifted her hoodie over her head, making Harry inhale sharply. âSo here are your two options.â Her hands went behind her back, unclasping her bra and letting it slowly drop to the floor, the green eyes that hadnât left her now wide as saucers. âNumber one.â She toed off her boots and popped open the button of her jeans. âWe can stop this, obviously, just say the word, and I get to my room, start packing and looking for a new place. We can have some dinner and just chill. Or number two.â Y/N hooked her jeans behind her thumbs and slowly dragged them down her legs, revealing more and more of herself to Harry. âWe can go inside your room and make up for the lost time. In every position imaginable, for as long as you want. But.â Y/Nâs eyes glimmered with mischief as she made her way to Harryâs room. âI donât think you wanna take the first option.â
Harry ran a hand through his hair, turning it from the meticulously gelled hairstyle into a mop of messy strands. âYou know youâre making it really hard for me to be a gentleman.â
Y/N swayed her hips a bit more as she took another step closer to his room, the door meeting her back, and one of her hands went to the doorknob, pressing down on it. âWell, a gentleman doesnât kiss before the first date, and definitely not like that.â
He stood there, hands on his hips, eyes not leaving her body, as she cocked her head. âSo, whatâs it gonna be?â
They were ten torturous seconds for both, hearts beating out of their chests, but it only took three steps for Harry to cross the hallway, his hand sneaking behind Y/Nâs back and pressing down on the doorknob as well, revealing the inside of his room. It was messy, much like her own, but it wouldnât take too much to rip all off the tossed around bedding leaving a whole bed to themselves.Â
    âYou. Are. The. Devil.â
Her smile was nothing short of wicked. âI mean you can listen to the angel on your shoulder.â
    âIâd rather listen to you.â
Together they stepped inside, and Y/N nodded. âMaking good choices already.â
âCanât get on your bad side, can I now?â
âI mean you can.â Her legs hit the back of his bed and she fell down on it, Harry leaning over, resting his elbows next to her head. âBut bad boys get punished.â
His nose skimmed over hers. Now he was the one smiling like a devil. âIâll hold you to your word. For future reference, that is.â
That kiss was nothing like their first. This was messy, and passionate, all tongue and teeth, hands grabbing everywhere possible to get the other unclothed. Or at least thatâs what Y/N was trying to do, seeing as she was pretty much naked already, and Harry was the one still wearing too much.
Her hands pretty much ripped open the shirt. It one of his expensive Gucci ones, she was quite certain of it, but it didnât seem like he cared, as he shrugged it off, throwing it to land somewhere on the floor.
Y/N sighed into his mouth as her hands were now freely allowed to run over his chest, over the ink embedded into his skin, over taut muscles that relaxed under her touch, and dig into his sides in an attempt to leave her own marks on him, much like he was going to do to her.Â
âThink you can take your pants off? Itâs only fair.â Y/N muttered into his mouth and his own travelled down to her cheek, then neck and to her chest.
    âYou mean my trousers?â
Her lips quirked up and she shrugged her shoulders. âNo, in this case, I meant pants the British way.â
    âAnd if Iâm going commando?â
Y/N pressed her hand against his chest and pushed him away from her. âYou had nothing underneath all day on set?â
âNo! I wouldnât subject the dressing department to that. But underneath this.â He looked down at his jeans and smiled at her. âI do have nothing.â
âWell then? Get on with it!â
Both of them were giggling, as Y/N tried to unbuckle Harryâs belt, his own fingers mixing with hers as he went for the zipper and the button. He nudged his head towards her. âYour socks and pants come off as well. Or weâll be unevenly matched.â
Y/N lifted her eyebrow, as she went for her own remaining pieces of clothing. âNo socks during sex?â
âNo, what kind of a weirdo do you think I am?â
âAnd if my feet get cold?â She threw them away somewhere.
    âWe have a blanket.â
As Harry removed his jeans and his own socks, Y/N slipped off the dampened piece of clothing thatâd been on her, now both of them completely naked.Â
âAlright.â He leaned over her again, her arms wrapping around his shoulders and pulling them chest to chest. âHappy now?â
Y/N deeply kissed him. âVery. But I think we can make each other even happier.â
âAgreed,â Harry hummed. âWanna get a taste first.â He attached his lips to her collarbones sucking a bruise there. âCan I?â
She groaned at the feeling, knowing there be a pleasant ache that accompanied mark. âYou can. Donât have to, if you donât want. No need to do this for me.â
âAnd if itâs for me?â Harry was moving lower and lower with each word, wet tongue flicking against a perked bud, and making Y/N gasp. âWhat if I wanna feel you cum on my tongue, and what if I wanna do something Iâve dreamed about for months now?â
His hands were kneading her breasts, mouth having left a trail of kisses down the middle of her stomach as it was moving towards where an ache thatâd been left untreated made itself more and more prominent.Â
âThen please, please, please do something, Harry.â
    âWith pleasure.â
Luckily for Y/N, she didnât have to beg any more, as his mouth attached itself to where she wanted him most, tongue sweeping past her lower lips and licking up a broad, steady stripe.
One of her hands went to fist into her hair and the other into Harryâs. âShit,â she moaned. âFuck, that feels good.â
âGuide me.â He licked a circle around her clit. âTell me how you like it.â
âMhgm, fuck, okay,â Y/N breathed out. âI â I mean youâre doing great on your own.â Her chest was heaving as if she was running a marathon, and Harry shifted her legs so that they lay over his shoulders. âBut umm, like if you lick around my clit, but like really press down li â oh, fuuuuck, just like that.â
The coil in her stomach tightened with each pass he did, just like Y/N had instructed, small tight circles just how she did with her fingers, only what took her sometimes half an hour, Harry managed to do in less than ten minutes, to have her toes curling and hands grasping anywhere they could find purchase to just keep onto something real.
The vibrations from Harry humming sent shivers straight to her core. âWhat else, lovie? What else, do you like?â
âIf â if â,â Y/N panted, âif you suck on it, but like â fuck â shit! If you kinda keep a seal around my clit, that fuck! Yes!â
The way Harry was eating her out was almost sensational, but what made it even better wasnât that he just decided to do something and assumed, sheâd like it, he asked, he wanted to learn and discover what made her tick and turn, or in this case â cum.Â
âHarry, âm close,â Y/N warned him, feeling the warmth slowly start to spread all throughout her body.Â
    âIâll get you there.â
He let his lips go for a moment before slipping two of his fingers so that they pinched her clit and moved them slowly but tightly up and down it, while his tongue went to slip inside her hole, and that did it for her.
With a gasp of air, Y/Nâs eyes rolled to be back of her head, hips lifting up as euphoria exploded through her veins. Her mind went completely dizzy, and she was quite sure some drool also dribbled down the side of her mouth because sheâd lost all ability to function.
â -o me, love,â Y/N heard as if through a fog, and then felt two soothing palms running up and down her legs. âCome back, love. There you go.â
A drunken smile bloomed on her face, and she ran a hand down it, the same hand thatâd grabbed Harryâs hair like a vice. âFuck. Youâre good, you know what youâre doing.â
âWell, Iâm certainly glad you enjoyed yourself because I thoroughly enjoyed myself.â
She watched as he straightened out to sit on his knees, her legs still over his shoulders, cock slapping against his stomach, and when she looked down there was a wet patch on his side of the sheets, a sly grin morphing on her face. âYou liked eating me out so much you came yourself?â
âWhat can I say â bringing pleasure, gives me pleasure. And your cuntâs probably the sweetest Iâve ever eaten. But⊠do you think youâre ready for me?â Harry asked, kissing the inside of Y/Nâs thighs and watching as she vigorously nodded her head, but he just smirked. âI think I need to test it out. Just to make sure.â
âHarry,â Y/N whined as she felt his fingers skim the apex of her thighs, teasing her.Â
    âDonât wanna hurt you.â
With that, he used one of his hands to open up her lips, his thumb pressing down on her already sensitive clit, eliciting a gasp before he allowed two fingers to skim her entrance and then slipped in.
âStill so tight,â he said, watching as Y/N sighed and her mouth fell open, his fingers curling in a come-hither motion. âTold you needed to check if you were ready. What kind of a gentleman would I be now, if I didnât make sure you could take it?â
Y/N gritted her teeth. âI can take you.â
âDonât doubt it.â Harry left kisses along her leg, as he continued on with his movements, noting how her hips slowly started to grind down on his palm, so he pushed his fingers in deeper so that the heel of his hand could rest against her clit, making the pleasure intensify. âBut Iâd never forgive myself if I hurt you when all I wanna do is give you pleasure. And you werenât stretched out enough. Not yet at least.â
âOh, god, Harry,â Y/N groaned, one arm thrown over her eyes as his fingers hit just the right spot.
    âThatâs it? Right there?â
âYes, right there,â she moaned. âJust. Fuck! Just donât stop, please, donât stop.â
    âGonna cum again?â
âYes, just â just curl your fingers and twist them a bit more.â
And much like the first time, a couple more times was all it took. Her orgasm was even more powerful than the previous and fully knocked her breath out of her lungs. Her legs fell open around his shoulders, stomach and chest spasming from the intensity.Â
Gentle fingers skimmed up and down Y/Nâs arms and featherlight kisses fluttered over her breasts, then chest, neck and finally were peppered across her cheeks.
âKinda spaced out on me there. You alright? Not too much?â
â âM â Iâm good. But Iâm pretty sure youâve killed me.â
Harry chuckled, and Y/N leaned her head to the side so she could press a kiss against the closest of the swallow tattoos. âHopefully not. I still wanna take you out on that date.â
Her eyes landed on Harryâs left handâs ring finger, where a golden band still laid.Â
âOh, yeah.â He lifted the digits, still covered in her cum before pushing them past his lips and licking them clean. âForgot to remove it. Hope the prop guys donât kill me.â
She hated how his eyes sparkled, absolutely knowing what that sight did to her, how it made her stomach flutter and heart thunder against her ribs. Y/N was sure with the force it was pounding, theyâd crack.Â
âWell, if they donât, I will.â She pulled him down, nails raking on his skin, dragging to rest on his ass as they bit into it. âNow get inside me.â
    âCondom.â
    âNo, âm on the pill.â
âIâm clean, I swear, but itâs still not a hundred per cent safe.â
Y/N shook her head. âIâll buy the morning-after pill. Just need you inside.â
âYou sure?â Harry placed a strand of hair behind her ear.Â
âYeah. I mean Iâm clean, and uh⊠I just wanna feel you.â
Heâd cum once already, and Harry would be dammed if he did it again before having the chance to know how heaven feels like. As gently as possible, he took himself, giving a few strokes before nudging the tip against Y/Nâs clit, her sharp inhale stalling him until she nodded.Â
Her nails dug into his biceps, as he finally slipped inside her, making both of them moan at the feeling. Even with all of the stretching out heâd done with his fingers, and the two orgasms heâd drawn from her, the slickness helping everything to be easy and smooth, Y/N still felt a little sting.
Harryâs head dropped to Y/Nâs shoulders and even from under him, she could feel his thighs and stomach shaking, as he tried to hold his composure and give her a little bit of time to adjust.
A couple of deep breaths later, she tapped his ribs. âYou can move now.â
    â âya sure?â
âMhm,â Y/N nodded her head and pecked his lips reassuringly. âPlease.â
His dishevelled and sweaty hair shook as he nodded and slowly drew back his hips so that just the tip of his cock remained in her before gliding back inside. The sight alone was more than enough to make both of them explode, but they wanted to last longer than thirty seconds, especially for their first time together. Thereâd be quickies for later, now they wanted to have a proper shag.
Bit by bit, Harryâs pace quickened, pearls of sweat gliding down his skin and dampening the sheets below them, much like it was with Y/N. Her leg slid up to rest around his hips, giving him a better angle and more leverage for him to strike the right spot, as he pushed her knee to rest against her chest, Y/Nâs head falling back to the pillow.
Her insides were shaking from the pleasure, and it was like an invisible force was pushing down on her chest, as she struggled for a proper breath. âHarry,â she dragged out his name, the word turning into a high-pitched whine.
âI know,â he responded in the same breathless voice. He could feel her tighten around him and wasnât sure just how much longer heâd be able to keep up the pace. âTouch yourself âf me, lovie. Câmon, use those fingers.â
Y/N did as she was told. It didnât give her that butterfly feeling like itâd happened when theyâd been Harryâs, but it did make her cum faster, and the sensation of her gushing around his cock made him lose all self-control and he spilled inside.
It wasnât enough for Y/N, but she guessed she needed to settle for it. She knew that nothing really ever touched in the universe, that the closest atoms ever come to touching one another is when their wave packets overlap, much like she and Harry were now overlapping, his body lying on top of hers, skin sweaty and frame trembling as he came down from his own high.
âI uh,â Y/N cleared her throat, finger tracing the outline of one of the butterfly in the middle of Harryâs chest. âWhen the people came to get my stuff, I umm, asked them to take your rainbow cardigan. Wanted something that smelled like you, so I didnât feel so alone. Was the first thing I put on when I got out of my hospital gown.â
She felt his body rumble with laughter and a kiss being pressed to her forehead. âI know. Saw Anna stash it inside the suitcase. I uh, I was the one who also put in one of my sweaters. Know how cold you always get.â
She hid her smile against his collarbones. âThank you. For thinking of me.â
â 'M always thinking of you⊠Will you knit me one though?â
Y/N raised her eyebrow. âKnit you one?â
âYes. I know you knit ââ
    âEveryone knits nowadays.â
Harry drew himself back a bit, and she pushed away the matted down strands from his forehead, wiping away the sweat from underneath his green eyes as well. âYes, but the point is â thereâll be a million other Gucci shirts and sweaters and cardigans. But Iâd like to have one-of-a-kind made by you. So, I have something to sleep next to when youâre not next to me.â
Y/N ran a finger along his jawline, biting away her grin. âItâll probably have mistakes. Iâm not that good at it. âM not a professional.â
âExactly.â Harry tilted her head up with a finger and their eyes met. âWhich is why itâll be perfect.â
âThe arms will most likely be different lengths in the end.â
âDonât worry, darling.â He pecked her lips before hugging her and not letting go. âItâs flawless for me.â

Ronen meeting room/Panel (that turned into a meeting room) notes:
apologies in advance, itâs a little messy and there may be some overlap since there was two meetings.
* something really big is happening for tk in the first few episodes
* heâs been working a lot with gina and brianna, and has only seen rafa once; a lot of focus on the paramedics
* on that note, heâs happy brianna is a regular this season!
* he hasnât even seen rob on set though (and added weâll soon find out why that is⊠đ)
(more below the cut!!)
* heâs probably going to live tweet 911 tomorrow, heâs excited for the premiere
* âone word to describe the first episode?â âchilly.â
* itâs a two hour premiere (everyone knows that part now tho lmao) but he definitely wasnât supposed to say thatâŠ
* he also said they learned from season 1 to not air two nights in a row bc most people assumed the second episode was actually a repeat of episode 1
* episode will be focused a lot on tk, and there will not be much of a time jump, picking up pretty much where they left off in the s2 finale
* he says a âcertain hoodieâ may be making a reappearance this season after he expressed how important it is and he did see the costume designer pull it out⊠wonât confirm but someone said âyellow hoodie?â and he just đ¶
* he did not like the poster for 911 lmao said it looked like jumanji (thinking about djâs edit lmao)
* he doesnât know if theyâll be doing new cast promo pics but really hopes so; wants brianna to have one, and get one of tk in the paramedic uniform (and maybe one of tarlos ;)
* it sounds like he does not want a relapse⊠if it were to happen, he thinks it would be someone close to him dying
* the fire is real, but controlled, they try to light as much stuff up as possible while still being safe
* no good tarlos scenes yet, but heâs only read episodes one and two. has no doubt in his mind though that itâs coming! he says be prepared. he thinks there will be something crazy for tarlos but he doesnât know what it is yet
* he really wants some other lone star cast members to do a convention, possibly virtual! he says probably not rob, but he knows who to ask ;)
* besides rafa, he says he enjoys working with brian the most. they connected a lot of screen and really wishes they had more big scenes together!
* also has really enjoyed working with gina
* he said he was really struggling and unsure of himself before lone star came along and it came at the perfect time
* idk how many people care about this but he says for that family photoshoot they did, spot was a professional but fresh was a diva and just wanted to play with the toys and the photographer
* if anyone cares about his music, he says that all thatâs left is still just for him to lay down vocals but itâs hard to find time in everyones schedules
* in the crossover, he wants to see more funny stuff between him and oli. he also really wants to work with angela, even if heâs in the deep background, just to share the screen with her
* he really likes that scene with rob in the firehouse, and gets owenâs blessing to become a paramedic. also the landmine scene, where we see a different side of tkâs skillset.
* he says before shooting s3, he had a silly fear he forgot how to act but it was easy to jump back in. the first scene they shot was an easy scene between him, gina, and brianna. but after that they threw him through the wringer.
* heâs really excited for episode 2⊠no other context đ
* they are definitely doing 18 episodes this season
* he really wants to go to paris as soon as they finish shooting in april, he and jess have never been to europe together so heâs excited to do that. and then come back in july for the convention! he hopes jess will be at the con too.
* he doesnât need to do much to get in the zone for emotional scenes bc the writing is so good that it just happens naturally. he mentions how he almost broke down crying after the fight scene with carlos.
* they get tested for covid three times a week, but everyone thatâs in direct contact with the actors has to be vaccinated
* if he could write an episode, he would write the tarlos wedding; he has big ideas for that

Loki director Kate Herronâs heart was beating fast. Sheâd already had some surreal experiences during her short time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so a simple phone call shouldnât make her nervous. But on the other end of the line was Owen Wilson, an actor and writer she admired and hoped would join her on a time-jumping journey through the MCU.
âIt was the most detailed pitch Iâve ever done, to an actor, ever. I pretty much spoke through the entire first episode with him,â Herron recalls of wooing Wilson, who wasnât too familiar with Marvel before being cast as Mobius, an agent for the mysterious Time Variance Authority central to the series.
Wilson instantly put Herron at ease with his laid-back charm as she walked the actor through 10 years of onscreen lore for Loki, the god of mischief played by Tom Hiddleston. She answered his questions about Avengers: Endgame, about time travel, about how this version of Loki was not the one fans knew from films like Thor: Ragnarok, but rather one plucked from an alternate timeline from 2012âs The Avengers.
It was all part of a whirlwind few years for Herron, who not that long ago was temping at a fire extinguisher company and struggling to land directing work even though sheâd already helmed a BBC project with Idris Elba. Then Herron finally achieved breakthrough success directing episodes of the Netflix hit Sex Education and soon was hounding her agents for a Marvel meeting.
When Herron finally landed one, the Loki superfan cleared her schedule and spent two weeks putting together a 60-page document, even though her agents tempered her expectations by noting it was just a meet-and-greet.
âI knew Iâd be up against some really big directors, and I knew I wouldnât be the most experienced in the room, so I [said], âOK. Iâll just be the most passionate,'â recalls Herron.
Just a few days after officially landing the job, Herron found herself on a five-hour walk through New York with Hiddleston discussing Loki and flying to D23 in Anaheim to be greeted by thousands of screaming fans alongside Loki head writer Michael Waldron.
Herron is now working long days finishing up Loki in Marvelâs production hub in Atlanta, where the British filmmaker has largely lived since getting the job in 2019. Over Zoom from her freezing Atlanta apartment (she still hasnât figured out the quirks of the air conditioner), Herron dives into Loki ahead of its June 9 debut on Disney+.
What was your process of sitting down with Marvel for this?
I was just so overexcited. [My agents] were like, âLook, itâs just a casual conversation, they just want to get a sense of you,â and basically I was like, âOK, Iâm just going to pitch them.â Because I thought, they might not meet me again. So I got as much information as I could, and they sent me a little bit about the show. And I just prepared a massive pitch for it. I canceled everything for two weeks. I made a 60-page document full of references, story ideas, music. I knew Iâd be up against some really big directors, and I knew I wouldnât be the most experienced in the room, so I [said], âOK. Iâll just be the most passionate.â
Was that first meeting in Burbank?
That was in England, in southeast London on Zoom. I had a few stages where I did that. Then after a few interviews with Kevin Wright and Stephen Broussard, two of the Marvel executives who got me ready for the big match, I went in to pitch to Kevin Feige, Victoria [Alonso], Lou [Louis DâEsposito], the whole team there. That was very surreal because they flew me to Burbank and I pitched at Marvel Studios. I didnât have the job, but I found out they were interested and then I remember Kevin Feige called me, and when he was in London, we had coffee. He was like, âLook, we want you to direct it.â Oh my God. They flew me to D23 and that was crazy because I think I found out I got the job 48 hours before, and then I was onstage. The Lady and the Tramp dogs were in front of me and Michael [Waldron] on the red carpet. âWhat is going on?â (Laughs.) I met Tom that week as well, so it was a bit of a whirlwind kind of thing.
đ·Herron, Waldron and Feige at D23 in 2019.
Where did you first meet Tom?
I had a two-stop trip. I flew first to New York to meet Tom. He was in Betrayal at the time, on Broadway, so we basically went on this amazing walk around New York. Iâd never met him before. We just spoke about Loki and what was really important to us about the character and where we thought it would be fun to take him, as well. It was this intense, five-hour conversation with him basically. I met him and then flew straight from meeting him to D23. So it was a lot. (Laughs.)
When did you finally get the scripts? How did that change your thoughts on what you want to do?
They sent me the outline, so I knew the overall story. I also was pitching stuff. âOh, we could do this with this character.â The pilot was really well written by Michael and I really liked what they were doing with the character and the story. Then it was building upon that and throwing in ideas for where he could go later in the show. It reminded me a bit of improv where youâre always building, always trying to push the story to the best place. So we were always adapting and shifting the story. Our lockdown, during COVID, was a chance for us to go back in. I was cutting what weâd done, so I was like, âOK, this is tonally what is really working for the story.â Then we went back into what we hadnât filmed and started adapting that stuff to fit more where we were heading.
The Marvel movies have a writer on set to help tweak things. Was that the case with Loki?
Michael [Waldron] was with us at the start, and then he went on to Doctor Strange [in the Multiverse of Madness]. We had a really wonderful writer called Eric Martin from our writers room, and he was our production writer on set. It was between me, him and my creative producer Kevin Wright. We would kind of brainstorm and adapt. Iâve always loved talking to the cast. We had such a smart cast. Owen is a writer as well. If you have that amazing resource, why not talk to them? We were always adapting. Obviously paying respect to the story we wanted to tell from the start, but always trying to make it better.
đ·Herron on the set of âLokiâ with Hiddleston and Wilson.
Kevin Feige has said Owen Wilson, like his character, is nonplussed by the MCU. Since Owen isnât necessarily dazzled by Marvel, does that make him all the more perfect for this role?
He is playing a Loki expert, so at the beginning of production, Tom and I were talking. He devised this thing called Loki School. He did a big lecture to the cast and crew. I love the character. This is a decade of fans loving this character and where that character has been. It was talking everyone through that, but through Tom and his own experiences. Stunts that Tom liked or costumes. He ended up doing that same Loki school for Owen. Owen absolutely loved it. Owen has such a writerâs brain. I remember I had to pitch him down the phone. My heart rate [was up].
Was this the pitch to get him to get Owen on board?
Yeah. I love his work. âOh my God, Iâm going to talk to Owen Wilson.â Heâs so laid back and nice, it immediately puts you at ease. It was the most detailed pitch Iâve ever done, to an actor, ever. I think I pretty much spoke through the entire first episode with him. You can tell heâs a writer, just by the way he attacks story. His questions about the world and the structure and the arc of the character. It was really fun to work with him.
Was it the most detailed pitch youâve ever done because you really wanted Owen, or because you knew you needed to woo him a bit to get him to sign on?
It was the questions he asked, and the way he attacked story, in that sense. And also probably because he was newer to the Marvel world, he was like, âOK, how does this work?â I also pitched him Lokiâs arc over the past 10 years, where that character has gone, but also explaining our Loki and what happened in Endgame and time travel. Thereâs a lot to unpack in that conversation.
Sometimes Marvel will give writers or directors a supercut of all the scenes of a specific character. Did you get one of those?
They didnât actually give me a supercut, but Iâm a big Loki nerd. I think his is one of the best [arcs] in the MCU. I really wanted to make sure we were paying respect to that. At the same time, something Tom spoke about a lot was you have to go back for a reason. Letâs be united on what that reason is and feel that itâs worth it.
The reason canât be, âWell thatâs what happened in Endgame,â so the question becomes, âWhat is the point of revisiting him at this era of his life?â
Yeah. Heâs only had â I donât want to get this wrong â I think 112 minutes of screen time in total if you cut all his scenes together. And he steals the show. We have six hours to really delve into this character and talk about him and go on this completely new story with him. For me, it was making sure that [weâre] paying respect to what has come before â I know as a fan if there is a character I really loved and I found out they are making a show about him, I obviously would be so excited and so happy. I felt lucky to have the responsibility, and I took it very seriously.
Those who have worked with Kevin Feige say heâs someone who can stress test an idea and push things in new directions. What have you found working with him?
Something I always found was we would sometimes pitch something, and it would be at a good place, but heâd always be like, âOK, thatâs great, but push it further.â Sometimes Iâd pitch stuff and be like, âThis is too weird,â and heâd say, âNo, go weirder.â He wants to tell the best story and I found it really helpful having his eye across everything and the fact that he does challenge everything. Tom as well, on set. He brings this amazing energy and this great A-game that causes everyone to rise to the occasion.
How do you know when youâve got the perfect Hiddleston take? Is he asking you for one more, are you pushing him to do one more take?
By the end, it was almost telepathic. We would kind of know. We would look at each other. âWe could go again,â or, âWeâve got it.â Itâs different with every actor. There are some actors who will come in firing and they just want to go for it. But they donât want to do a million takes. There are other actors I work with who are very meticulous and they want quite a few to warm up and get into it. Itâs actor-dependent. The way me and Tom are similar is we are both very perfectionist. We are both very studious. (Laughs.) We definitely connected in that sense. Heâs a very generous actor. I remember one day, we had quite a few of our actors coming in as day players. It was really important for him to be there for them, to read lines offscreen. He would have to be 50 places at once, because he is the lead actor. The most amazing thing about him was his generosity. Not just to the other actors, but also to the crew, to be filming in a time like COVID.
When you make an Avengers movie, you get a big board with every character thatâs available, and whether the actorâs deals will allow them to appear or if that would need to be renegotiated. Loki is smaller, but was there any equivalent for you? Was everything on the table? Was only some stuff on the table? I imagine if Chris Hemsworth has his own new Thor movie coming up, heâs not going to be on the table, necessarily.
I felt like everything was on the table if it meant it was good for story, and Marvel would be like, âWeâll work it out.â Me and the writers, we never felt restrained in that sense. Honestly, it always comes back to story.
What is your relationship with your editor as you finish this up?
We have three editors, Paul Zucker, Emma McCleave and Calum Ross. My relationship with all three of them is very different. Emma and me are very close because she was also in Atlanta away from home. I got to know her very well. I love working with the editors because itâs a fresh pair of eyes. You get so deep into something when you are filming, itâs almost like writing it again when you are in the edit. Stuff does change. Even some episodes, weâve reordered the structure. Or we moved scenes from one episode to another episode. Iâve always loved the editing process. The best thing is someone honest who can be like, âHey, this doesnât quite make sense to me,â or, âThis isnât working.â
What are you going to do on premiere day? Will you be on the internet at all to see the reaction?
Iâm actually working. Iâm still finishing the show. My last day is the day the second episode airs. Iâm going to be working that day. Sadly, Iâll probably check in on the internet a little bit, but Iâll probably go to bed when I finish because I think Iâll do a 12- or 13-hour day or something. I canât remember. Iâm really excited for people to see it and just to bring it out in the world, really.
Everyone wants to know about spoilers, but whatâs something you wish you were asked about more when it comes to Loki?
Kevin Feige said, âWe make movies. We want to run it like a movie.â So unlike a lot of television shows that are showrunner-led, this was run like a six-hour film. As a director, you donât often get to do that in a television-structure show. I really enjoyed it, having a hand in story and just how collaborative it was. Also, just beyond that, directing the equivalent of a six-hour Marvel movie was incredible for me. Thatâs something I found interesting about it. Making something the Marvel way.
In terms of the themes, I love gray areas. The show is really about what makes someone truly good or what makes someone truly bad, and are we either of those things? Loki is in that gray area. Itâs exciting to be able to tell a story like that. As a director and a writer, you donât necessarily understand why you are making these stories. Something I keep getting drawn back into is identity. Sex Education, we spoke a lot about identity and feeling like an outsider but actually finding your people. I feel the same with Loki. Itâs a show about identity and self-acceptance and for me, thatâs also what drew me in.
Gray is a good way to describe Loki. Your version of Loki just tried to take over the Earth not long ago.
Exactly. This isnât the Loki weâve seen. How do we take a character that people love, but from a lot earlier, and send him on a different path? That for me was interesting, getting to unpack that. Alongside that, getting to set up a whole new corner of the MCU with TVA. That to me was so exciting.
What about the Teletubbies? You referenced that recently and it made quite a splash. Are you going to leave people in suspense on that?
I referenced the Teletubbies once and people were like, âWhat, Teletubbies? What does this mean?â Maybe I should leave people in the air with it. One thing I would say is the show for me, stylistically â I wanted it to be a love letter to sci-fi because I love sci-fi. Brazil, Metropolis, Hitchhikerâs Guide to the Galaxy, Alien. If people love sci-fi, they will definitely see the little nods weâve got across the show. People will know what it was a reference for when they see the show. It was a visual reference to something in the show.
Interview has been edited for length and clarity. Loki debuts on Disney+ on June 9.

ââââ
I sighed typing away frustratedly at my computer attempting to get my work done for the night. Taking another sip of my wine I looked over to the couch to see my boyfriend scrolling through his phone.
"You know? It must be nice being a paid actor during a pandemic" I spoke catching his attention. A grin began to form on his face as he stood up making his way over to me in the kitchen.
"It has its perks. Can't say the same about you baby" He teased rubbing my shoulders. I rolled my eyes continuing to type away.
"You know you could take a break" He whispered getting near my ear.
"I can't. If I don't get this is by tonight I'm so fired"
"Fine. I'm just gonna go live for a bit. And relax afterwards. I'm pretty busy tomorrow"
"Yes Charles getting to sleep in and doing a live interview late afternoon sounds so exhausting. Meanwhile I have a term paper for English due and on top of that I have to do two more sets of these for work" I spoke holding up my papers.
"For your information I'm going on a hike tomorrow morning. Then I'm going live" He said another deep breath leaving my mouth.
"Aww baby. It's okay"
"Is it though?" I asked frustrated at his lack of sympathy. I love him and all but he seems to forget that his totally normal girlfriend works a 9 to 5 and still goes to college. And as much as I appreciate the times he said he could put in a good word for me with Kenny. I refused to be exposed in the spotlight more than I already was for being his girlfriend.
"I'm sure you can do it. You always do"
"Your right. I'm amazing. I don't know what you'd do without me" I joked trying to lighten up my own mood more than his.
"I don't either. I'd miss you too much" He said placing kisses just below my ear.
"Hmm really? Care to find out Gillespie?" I asked biting my lip. This was my opportunity to get him back where it hurt.
"What do you mean?" I smirked continuing to do my work. Without another word leaving my mouth.
âBaby. What do you mean?" He asked again standing up.
I stayed quiet as he repeated the question a few more times finishing up what I was doing. I had to get through all my stuff for school and work tonight if I wanted tomorrow to go as planned.
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. Glancing over at the clock I smiled. On schedule. I moved over to the empty spot beside me with a grin. Charlie was really in for it today.
I quickly got up making the bed when my phone suddenly dinged. I smiled seeing it was a good miring text from Charlie himself.
âGood morning my love. Just finished my hike. On my way home with coffee.
âI'll see you in a bit baby" I read aloud. I smiled at the cute detail before continuing on with my plan.
Changing into yoga pants and a sports bra I made my way to the living room setting up for a morning workout. Something I rarely got to do since my second term started and I became ambushed with work. It'd been nearly half an hour before I heard the front door open. The smell of coffee carrying itself through the small apartment.
"Baby your awake" He stated taking in my appearance. No doubt the sweat droplets on my body making me look shiny as hell.
"Yeah. I finished all my work last night so I figured I'd have a day to myself. I did a morning work out and I'm gonna do more things I haven't done in a while" I smiled innocently.
"Mmm am I one of those things by any chance?" He smirked pulling me close. Placing a kiss to my sweaty forehead.
"You wish. Actually I invited y/b/n over. We were thinking of painting to clear our minds"
"Oh but you can't paint looking like this. So sweaty. So wet" He whispered rubbing circles on my hips.
"Yeah I'll probably hop in the shower in a bit" I grinned before pulling away to go finish my workout.
âYou know I need to shower too. What if we hop in together? To save water"
"Um I don't know. Can you keep your hands to yourself Gillespie?" I asked bending down in front of him to stretch.
"I can't answer that" He growled coming to stand behind me. As soon I felt his hands on my waist I stood up turning around to face him.
"Tsk Tsk Tsk" I whispered pulling back.
âWhat baby? Why won't you let me touch you?" He whined.
"Because it's my only free day and I'm going to enjoy it babe" I said placing a chaste kiss on the corner of his lips before walking away.
"Where are you going?" He called.
"To shower"
"Can I join?"
"If you can keep your hands away" I heard him groan as I shut the bathroom door behind me. Giggling to myself I entered the shower washing myself down.
Purposely forgetting to bring in an outfit. Knowing Charlie didn't enter for a reason I called out for him after I was clean.
"Charlie!" I shouted waiting for him to come in.
"Yes baby?"
"Can you bring me some clothes please?âI asked peeking my head out the curtain.
"Can I touch you?" He asked.
"Uh how about no"
"Then no" He said hoping that would get a reaction out of me. It didn't.
"Fine. If you insist" I spoke shutting the water off. Within a matter of seconds I exited the shower. Feeling his eyes piercing through me.
"Close your mouth. Your gonna catch flies" I said wrapping my towel around my body.
"Mm baby you don't know what your doing to me" He moaned out.
"I don't? Or do I?" I asked opening the door further so I could slip past him. Heading to the bedroom I smiled to myself knowing it was working.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Rushing over I peeked through the hole to see y/b/n standing there. Thankful both of our COVID tests came out negative I smiled welcoming her inside.
"Hey y/n/n"
"Y/b/n!" I shouted happy to see her after so long.
"So how's he doing?" She asked knowing all about my plan.
"Not good. I love him I really do but paybacks a bitch. I can't wait til his interview" I smirked walking her to my room.
I was quick to change into a cute matching set with only one of his band shirts layering on top.
"Wow. He's gonna be drooling"
"That's the plan. Thanks for doing this again"
"Its no problem. What are best friends for? Just promise me you'll give me every detail tomorrow. You know after he breaks"
"I promise" I said as we both giggled exiting the room. We made our way towards the living room pulling out the supplies she had brought over for our eventful day.
Y/b/n and I enjoyed each other's company for a while. Catching up on our new quarantine rituals. It wasn't long before Charlie came out of the restroom completely shirtless with only a towel wrapped around his waist. I bit my lip coming back to reality when y/b/n bumped my shoulder.
"Y/b/n. You're here" Charlie said running his fingers through his hair. He knew what he was doing.
"Yeah. I came to spend time with my best friend. Did you see her today by the way?" Y/b/n said taking my hand and playfully spinning me around. I chuckled at her antics realizing she'd done it on purpose to give him a full view of what I was wearing. If something drove Charlie Gillespie crazy. It was me wearing his band tees.
"I didn't. Thank you for that" Charlie spoke sending daggers through me.
"I hope you don't mind. I barrowed your shirt to paint. I can change if you wa-"
"No! No no baby keep it on. It looks amazing on you" He said a small smile playing at his lips.
"Thanks baby. When's your interview?"
"In like 20 minutes. I'm gonna go get ready"
"Sounds good. We'll be on the balcony painting. That good?"
"Of course baby" I smiled walking out on the hard cemented area placing down our stuff.
We specifically chatted those 20 minutes waiting for Charlie to come out of the bedroom.
"I'm going live" Charlie called through the screen door.
"Okay good luck" I called back. I saw him send me a wink before setting up his phone where the sun was hitting him perfectly.
"This is perfect" I whispered to y/b/n as we pulled out our paints.
"I know. I can't believe he set himself up right there" She whispered back. I giggled pulling out the pastel pink from the bag.
"Charlie!" I heard the interviewer shout. My boyfriend clearly estatic.
"Hey man what's up?"
"What's up with me? What's up with you? Your our first cast member of the day. So for starters we wanna know what's up with you?"
"Nothing much man. I mean I've been writing a lot recently"
"Oh yeah can we be expecting any music coming out soon away from the Julie and the Phantoms band?"
"Uh no. That's kind of where I'm at right now which is amazing you know? Working with such great cast and bandmates it's great"
"Sounds like it. So where do you get inspiration from during this whole new situation we're in? It must get boring"
"Uh it does at times when I'm alone. Which is rare since I've been quarantining with my girlfriend. She's amazing company and overall my biggest inspiration"
"Girlfriend? Are you guys at her place or yours?"
"Hers man. I didn't wanna disturb her peace but she insisted and it's just been amazing. I love her" He said my heart fluttering at his words. I looked over at y/b/n to see her smirking at me.
"What about your cast? Do they know her?"
"Oh yeah. Like my family, they absolutely love her which is great. You know their approval means a lot to me so it's nice that everyone gets along with her just fine"
"That's good to hear so moving back to your music" The interviewer continued changing subjects. With his wholesome answers I almost felt bad denying him my touch today. And almost felt bad what I'd be doing next.
Almost.
After about 15 minutes I began to laugh at nothing signalling it was go time. I glanced back see Charlie staring up at us. Clearly trying to focus on the interviewer speaking. Clearly.
"Stop!" I whisper shouted at my best friend who splattered pain on me. I repeated her actions earning a giggle from the girl.
Suddenly I felt a cold sensation hit me. She had thrown our water cup at me in return I splattered more paint towards her. Trying to stay as quiet as possible.
"No yeah thanks man. I had fun" I heard Charlie say. Signifying the interview was nearly over.
"No thank you. Charlie Gillespie everyone. Up next Owen Patrick Joyner!" The man shouted before the living room went silent.
"Done?" I asked turning back to look indoors. The door screen being the only thing between us and the indoors.
"Yeah. What happened?"
"I don't know y/b/n what did happened?" I asked the girl in a teasing voice. Moving back slowly letting the sun hit my body. The white shirt on my body becoming see through.
"Cover up baby"
"Y/b/n doesn't mind right babe?" I asked her.
"Nope. We've been best friends forever Charles. I know her inside out. I also know you should probably get changed out of that"
"Or I could just do this" I replied removing the shirt from my body altogether. I watched as Charlie's jaw dropped in surprised.
"Cute set. Victoria secret?"
"Pink" I answered walking into the living room.
"Huh. I would've never guessed. Oh shoot it's already 5:00 o'clock? I should get going. I have to get to Dylan's house. Do you need help cleaning up?"
"No!" Charlie shouted before I could answer.
"No. We've got it y/b/n. No worries"
"Thanks guys" She smiled pulling me into a hug then Charlie. I watched as he walked her towards the door.
Not knowing which one was rushing more him or her.
"Thanks for coming!" I called out grabbing some paper towels to wipe off the water still on my body.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Charlie asked once the door shut.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"You've been such a bad girl"
âMe?" I asked looking behind me jokingly knowing I was the only one here.
"Teasing me all damn day. Having y/b/n come over to be a cock block. And then pulling that little stunk during my interview"
"I don't know what your going on about Charles. I didn't know y/b/n name was gonna- Ahhh" I squealed feeling his strong arms wrap around me from behind lifting me up.
"Charlie!" I shouted as he carried me towards the bedroom.
"Yes?" He questioned when he put me down on the bed gently.
"Seriously?" I asked ask he removed his shirt.
"Seriously" He confirmed moving in to kiss me. It was gentle at first but that gentleness soon became hunger. From both ends we fought for dominance. Tired of fighting I gave in as he pushed me further up the bed.
"Charlie please" I pleaded beginning to palm him through his jeans. Feeling him get harder by the second.
"Tsk tsk tsk. Not yet" He whispered making me whine. He chuckled before speaking once more in a hushed tone.
"Now are you gonna tell daddy exactly why you teased him all day?" I groaned knowing there was no way of getting out of this one.
"Nope" I said hoping to move on.
"Mm I don't like the sound of that" He said removing his jeans. I moaned seeing his full body. He was too hot for his own good.
"Now are you gonna tell me or should I return the punishment" I internally groaned not in the mood to be teased.
"I-I just feel like you forget sometimes that I have so much on my plate. And maybe sometimes you could be insensitive about it" I muttered the last part hoping he wouldn't hear. But judging by his features softening he had heard every word.
"I make you feel that way?" he asked caressing my cheek.
"Not all the time but yeah sometimes"
"Baby. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry" He mumbled placing soft kisses on my lips.
"I guess I just forget sometimes that you have so much to do. I just wanna spend all my time with you since that's all I have. I also guess offering to pay for things like your college doesn't help either when your girlfriends independent"
"And capable of doing everything on her own. Including paying for her school and home necessities. I mean it's a nice gesture baby but I'd just appreciate it if maybe you could take a step back and realize I'm only human. And not everyone wants to become an actor. I'm studying really hard to get to where I wanna be. And even if I'm working a boring desk job right now I won't be in the future"
"I know baby and I'm so proud of you for that you know that right?"
"Of course Charlie. And I know your my number one supporter just like I'm your number one fan" I said as he placed small kisses on my nose.
"Good....So you did all this today to get back at me?"
"Well yeah I wanted to have fun. But it's no fun when I too need to resist the urge to jump on you when you come out of the shower shirtless"
"Yeah about that I didn't know y/b/n was here or I wouldn't have walked out like that"
"I know baby. But now that we're alone so can we please just-" My words were cut off by his lips once more.
Giggling at his eagerness I began to palm him through his boxers once more.
"You don't know the things you do to me baby" He whispered pulling my bra down letting my breast fall free. I moaned as he began to suck on the left one and toying with the right one.
"God I missed these"
"Charlie please hurry up" I spoke. He didn't hesitate to remove my panties and his boxers immediately lining himself up at my entrance.
"You've been taking your birth control right?"
"Of course you idiot"
"Ooo aggressive much"
"Charlie if you don-" My words were cut off by a moan as he entered me. Not hesitating to start moving at a steady pace.
"Charlie" I moaned wrapping my legs around his waist.
"Faster"
"I'm so close baby"
"Me too" I panted as he sped up. His thrust becoming sloppier by the second.
"I'm gonna-" He groaned being the first to release. My climax coming not long after. I sighed as we rode our our highs together.
"I love you baby" Charlie said standing up and cleaning me off with a t-shirt of his.
"I love you too" I said as he finally came to lay next to me. Pulling the covers over us.
"You do know I really am proud of you right?"
"I don't know I think you need to prove it to me" I halfheartedly joked.
"If you insists" He whispered pulling me in for a sweet tender kiss.
Time slowing down as we spent the night tangled in each other's arms. Enjoying each other's company. Each other's love.

Transcript of End of the Road Special
Transcript of End of the Road Special.Â
Please let me know if I made any errors in transcription. Twitter version Family Donât End with Blood Transcription Winchester Mythology Transcription
Dabb: Ultimately, we came up with something that we're all very proud of Singer: You never know what the audience is going to like so we really tried to say "what would make us happy? Would we be satisfied with where we've taken them?"
The Carry On song was a guideline.
Singer: The myth of what these brothers were throughout 15 years... We didn't shy away from fatalism, but we wanted to be able to have it be kinda uplifting as well.
Dabb: If you're going to do something that feels like a complete arc, you have to kinda go back to the beginning of it (clips of them hunting vamps from s1 & 15.20) When it comes to Sam & Dean- it's all about getting back to, in some ways, these two guys on the road in this car.
Dabb: They've been doing this job for 15 years now. They've fought everyone from demons to vampires to God himself, but at the end of the day, they're still working guys, out there on the road & taking cases. We've tried to never lose sight of that.
Dabb: There are times when we've been wrapped up in our own mythology a little bit. We've always tried to get back to the basics, which are: these two guys, saving people, hunting things.Â
Eugenie: I think we sort of knew generally what the ending would involve.
Eugenie: We might not have known the mechanics, but we sort of knew there would be a victorious, glorious sacrificial ending bc I think sacrifice is a big theme in the series.
For every great thing you do, a cost must be paid.
Singer: Andrew & I talked about it. We were in agreement pretty quickly... talked to the rest of the writing staff & let them know what we wanted to do and we were open to suggestions. And then we pretty much pitched it to Jared and Jensen.
Jensen talks about flying to LA. Jensen: So before we ever even started 15, we knew how the last portion of the story was going to go. We didn't know how we were going to get there, but we kinda knew the final- the finish line- we knew what... what that was going to look like.
Jared: I don't think there's ever been a season of SPN in 15 years where the way the writers thought the show would play out for that season- ended up being the way it played out And so we were aware of that. They told us here's what we're thinking, here's what happens to Castiel
Jared: In the finale, Dean dies & Sam lives on. And then we think they're going to meet up in heaven.Â
I remember Jensen... just because I know him so well- he seemed to bristle a little bit.
Jensen: It was hard to hear then & it was hard to read now. Not because I didn't like it, not because I wished it had gone differently... I'm not adverse to it. I think it's a great ending. I'm proud to film it.
Singer: And we just aimed for that, you know, throughout the season. We knew where we were going.
Jensen: Reading it & knowing that... there's just a weight that is so much larger reading these scripts than I've ever experienced before.Â
There's an emotional weight that these scripts are going to carry & these episodes are going to have that I don't think we've ever seen before.
Brad: [J2] were so young when all of this started. They brought to it such conviction & such commitment to the effort.Â
That's one of the things that kept the show going for so many years... a show that was designed for very young guys, footloose & fancy free, & on the roadâŠ
Brad: To see these guys grow up b4 your eyes into- men, not boys any longer- was amazing.Â
BABY Jared: Though the story does involve Sam & Dean chasing supernatural things, it really is a story about two brothers that love each other & ultimately will do anything for each other.
Jensen: There's really one person that gets it on the level that I get it, and that's Jared. Jared: I've never spent as much time with another human being as I have with Jensen Ackles. He will be my friend and brother forever. And I know that.
BABY Jensen: There's a lot of dynamics between the two brothers, there's a lot of history between them, there's a lot of banter between them... it's good stuff S15 Jensen: We had a partner in crime & we leaned on each other for, you know, for times when it was tough.
Jensen: But we also won together. We got to share the experience of success & the experience of getting picked up for another season. Watching these two characters go through what they're going through, when we're working 14 hours & it's 2-3 oâclock on a Sat morning and we're just now finishing filming out in the rain and mud and we gotta race to the airport to get on a plane because we've got a photoshoot in LA & we've gotta do on camera interviews and we gotta promote the show that we love so much that we were just in the mud & the rain filming hours before we're exhausted and it's like there's only one person that gets that right now. That gets how I feel and that's this guy standing next to me. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool to have somebody like that.
Brad: We knew it was going to be impossible to tie up every aspect of all of the cans of worms that we opened up.Â
We did want to bring a proper ending to the guys, the guy's relationship.
Brad: Then of course we had this huge corner we painted ourselves into with the most powerful thing in the universe being the big bad of the season. We try and find a proper send off for Jack & for Cas. What to do w/ the boys & is that a together farewell or an individual?
It was just... lots of moving parts.Â
Dabb: I give a lot of credit to Bobo who really was the one who started banging the drum early & often to ending the mythology in 19 and end the characters in 20.
Brad: You're battling God & battling God & you have this epic situation going on through the first 3/4 of the show & then what? You send off Dean in act 4? That just felt wrong. Eugenie: We had this obligation, it was really mandatory, that we tie up the mythic narrative and leave the final episode for the emotional resolution. I [was] more on the side of not wanting to best God. To have God change to be more like his creations. So there were philosophical arguments, but we always knew God's resolution was going to be a big ticket item.
Jensen: We'd started day 1 of the 2nd to last episode, 19. We were 1 day down on that episode & we were just about to start our 2nd day & we got the call that morning that we were not going to be coming in that day.
Jensen: So we figured ok, we'll figure out protocol, figure out what we need to do, & we'll just regroup, come back on Monday. As that day progressed, it was like- this looks like more of an apocalypse that is ascending upon us than just a bad cold.
They pulled the plug & they said everybody go home.Â
Singer: Fortunately, we got assurance from both the studio & the network that one way or another we were gonna finish the series. That was comforting to us, but we didn't know when we were going to go back.
Eugenie: We didn't know what we were going back to... if this was the last time we would ever see the set. There was no plan. It was just get out of dodge. Dabb: When it first happened, we thought it would be a couple of weeks, maybe a month.
I had conversations w/WB where they expected everyone to be back shooting in June & then things got worse & pushed & pushed.
Eugenie: Slowly as we settled into that 4 or 5 month period, discussions were going on w/the studio, & the networks, & the actors. We knew there would be restrictions on what we were allowed to shoot, but finally, the mechanics were figured out.Â
Singer: So they were ready to go pretty quickly, shooting in Van, where covid wasn't quite as virulent as it was [in LA].
Dabb: We were one of the first shows, one of the first WB shows to start back up. So in a way, we were kinda a guinea pig. But, in being that, I think everyone took it really seriously. We had 0 positive tests. Crew members weren't going out on the weekends.
They were like look, if I get sick, it hurts the whole show. That speaks to the family culture up there, where we've had so much of our crew for so long. Where J2 & Singer provide such great leadership.
Singer: When I was in prep for 20, I was basically in the office but couldn't go to the set. It was very odd for me not to be able to go to the set while I was in prep.Â
Everybody just hung in there & did what they were supposed to do.
Brad: Then we were faced with the dilemma of having to rewrite a lot of the stuff bc of the pandemic bc of the limitations that we knew were going to come on the production.
Jensen: We were gearing up for, not only the end of that season, but the end of the series. There was a lot of big, big things written-packed- into those last two scripts.
Jared: At first, it was supposed to be a lot of our old cast from prior seasons in a Roadhouse with Kansas.
Everybody had already agreed. Kansas was going to be in Van. We were going to have dad there & mom there. Just probably 20 or 30 different actors & actresses who had been a part of the SPN's canon over the last 15 & a half years.
Jensen: It was scheduled to be the last day that we were going to film, so it was almost like rolling right into a nice wrap party on camera.Â
Brad: The idea of flying a boatload of ppl up there to quarantine for 2 weeks so they could shoot for a day was making less & less sense.
Eugenie: How do we make this work? And while you're doing that, you also don't want to sacrifice the heart and soul of the project.Â
So we came up with a reduced, much more intimate ending. It has been replaced by something equally magical & rewarding.
Singer: I felt an enormous responsibility in directing the finale of a show that's been on for 15 years. Andrew, when he saw the cut, he said some really nice things to me as to, you know, the way I handled the material.
Jensen: The scenes that were filmed on our last day on the sound stages were filled with the most emotion of the final episode.Â
Singer: One of the really hard things was we're on another stage that wasn't the MoL stage & they started wrecking the MoL sets
They'd been working on this set and been apart of this- this family for just as long if not longer than the set's been around. I was like "it's really sad seeing this get taken down" and the other guy said, "I'm trying to hold back tears while I'm swinging this hammer."
Jared: As we start saying goodbye to characters, to locations, like it just seems like every day you would wake up and there would be some reason to cry.Â
Misha: This is a show ultimately about love, & empathy, & caring, & I think that Castiel embodies that.
Misha: Half the crew was crying. It was really such a sweet, supporting environment to be in for the demise of a character that, of course, for me is really important.Â
But it was so lovely to see that, you know, the folks that I'm- I'm working with were also there for Cas at that moment.Â
Alex: To get to work with these caliber people & see your friends every day is really special & is not something that often happens in this business for this long. It's been definitely a topsy turvy last couple weeks here with us and the crew.Â
Jared: Friday of the final full week was the big scene in the barn with the vampires where Dean suffers his fate. They did the first two days with the entire stunt team & the young boy actors.Â
And then they cut it for Thursday night and they're like, okay, Friday, tomorrow, weâre starting the dialogue. Dean, you're on the post. Sam, you just cut off the last vampire's head.
That was the scene- that was where Supernatural was really encapsulated.Â
Jensen: And then the next week we kind of had this- on the road encore get together filmmaking scenario that felt more like we made it & it was more pats on the back as opposed to tearful goodbyes.Â
Dabb: In a weird way you can look at the 15 seasons is like Sam & Dean's emotional evolution. You know instead of therapy, they kill vampires, but other than that it's kind of the same & brings them both to a very good place. And a place where they can, as the song says, you know, lay their weary head to rest.Â
This felt like the most honest & emotionally fulfilling episode for these characters to us. Jared: I got thinking about how Supernatural started & how the majority of times how I thought it should end. It started with Sam & Dean Winchester. I think it's proper that it ended with Sam & Dean Winchester together again.Â
Jensen: When the cameras stop rolling & Bob yelled, âCut!â and Bob yelled, âThatâs a series wrap on Supernatural.â There was- a there was a loud cheer that echoed through that canyon we were filming in. I will- I will happily say that there were hugs that happened and that needed to happen. Those are people that I spent not just years with, but so much time with- it's like brothers in arms and so to put it to bed the way that we did felt really good and then felt good to hug some people, I'll tell you that much. Singer: I thanked everyone, but I wanted to really thank people who had been with us from the beginning and as I looked around, there were so many people who had been there from the beginning.
We really were a family. I always say about this show is one of the reasons that it was a success and is that it was not only about the Winchester family, but it was about the Supernatural family.Â
Jared: So now that's all said and done, I guess I can look back at it and just be proud that I helped this show carry on and I'm really proud of the blood, sweat, and tears that I put in, and I feel like- I feel like that sacrifice was also maybe one of the things I learned from Sam, you know? Sam had to sacrifice a lot. So, I'm honored and flattered and grateful that I got to be a part of that journey.
Dabb: You're never going to have another show like this. You're never gonna have another experience like this. For a lot of different reasons, from how long it ran, from the family that the show became, from the amazing fans that we have. [Footage of us] From the emotional investment people can put in over 15 years of their lives.Â
Some started watching this when they were in high school, when they were 15, they're 30 now, they might have kids. That's their- that's like half their life. They've been with this show. You're not gonna have that again. Shows just arenât gonna run this long, especially genre shows, but I don't know that I'm ever gonna do anything else in my career that I'm gonna be more proud of than having been involved in this show.Â
Jared: The things that stick out are just how important it is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. And keep on working and wake up every day and treat it like it could be your last and- and if you make it out the other side, you'll be happy and proud of what you did.Â
Jensen: The crew had packed up, they had cleared the bridge, and they were all starting to, you know, load their trucks and get moving. And Jared and I just kind of hung back, and we just took a moment. I looked at him and I said, âIâm proud of us, man. I'm proud of what we've done.â
We know that that's the collective we, that is everyone that is involved, that is- you know from the top down. You know, for our portion, for what we contributed to this monster of the show, he and I reflected on that, and still able to see and smell the roses.

Hello!
Iâm still fairly new to the 2.5d world and would like to ask about the possibilities of Haisute (or any other franchise in general) to resume the shows that had been cancelled due to the SoE / pandemic.
Iâm still kind of salty about how we didnât get TSC resumed, so Iâm thinking: is it because The Tokyo Battle / Itadaki no Keshiki planning were already in the works and they had to go with the original schedule? Also, has it got something to do with stage actorsâ schedules and overlapping commitments? I donât know how things in the 2.5d world go so I am curious.
I feel really sad that Itadaki 2 (and the whole Haisute franchise) has to end this way after everything that was already in store.
The problem with all this isnât restricted to how the 2.5D industry works, it also has a lot to do with the Japanese governmentâs response to covid (which has been poor). This industry did not receive a lot of financial support from the government, and so everyone was working for every day that there wasnât an official State of Emergency declaration. This meant that some shows got to stay on schedule and perform, and some would just get canceled, and still be unable to reschedule for weeks or months down the line, because there are other shows scheduled for that time. And maybe those might get canceled because of another Emergency declaration, maybe not. The particular shows affected were a very uneven spread. Not only that, the States of Emergency were always restricted to the more populous prefectures. While Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo were in âlockdownâ for those past three weeks, all other prefectures were not. So if a show were to tour in some other prefecture in this time frame, they could proceed as normal. If Engeki Haikyuu were to be spending the past three weeks in Miyagi, for example, they wouldâve been able to perform and not cancel anything.
Believe it or not, Engeki Haikyuu having two tours mostly canceled comes down to just really bad luck with timing. Throughout the pandemic, Japan has only ordered partial lockdowns three times, and two of those times happened to overlap with weeks when Engeki Haikyuu would be performing.Â
All of this is to explain how difficult it is to try and reschedule a show right now. And please remember, I do not work directly with this production so nothing I say is official. But for a lot of shows that work on a regular schedule and perform consistently at set times of the year, theyâve got their actors and scripts and schedules set almost a year in advance. This production has consistently done a tour twice a year, spring and fall. As Strongest Challengers was gearing up for their spring tour, they already knew that the Battle of the Trash Heap would follow in the autumn, and they probably already asked actors to leave room in their schedules for it.Â
Trying to move an entire production 6 months would most certainly not have worked for everyone. To pick just one example: Hypothetically, if they had decided to postpone Trash Heap to retour Strongest Challengers for autumn of 2020, that would move Trash Heap to spring of 2021, and they wouldâve most certainly lost one or two of the Inarizaki cast. Then with Trash Heap moved, they wouldâve lost Kondou Shouri as Kuroo (since heâs current touring with another MAJOR production), Nagata Takato as Kenma (heâs currently working on a TV production), Takeshi Naoki (Kai) wouldâve been lost to Ensemble Stars, and the list goes on.Â
Throughout the past year, governments around the world have been rapidly deciding and changing policies depending on how well or badly their country is doing with covid. The Japanese government is clearly hellbent on having the Olympics no matter what, but case numbers were spiking in early spring, the UK variant was detected, and for the sake of the Olympics, another Emergency was declared. But by the numbers, cases now arenât worse than they were in January, during which a shorter, less-strict Emergency was put in place. Japan has only just begun vaccinating their general population in April, and their vaccine hesitancy is high.Â
Itâs absolutely unfair and unfortunate and disappointing and heartbreaking, and most of that for this production was just bad luck. But I do implore people to remember that this is just a tiny snapshot of an enormous struggle. Itâs such a complicated picture, and everyone in the cast and crew are heartbroken. A lot of people are upset. I just ask that your frustrations and disappointments be directed elsewhere because so many factors are out of their control even without the pandemic. Many people want a rerun of Itadaki 2 and Strongest Challengers, and maybe they can make that work, maybe they canât. Please be understanding, please be kind... nobody is more devastated than the cast and crew.Â

Do you think that the reason the whole six UK costumes situation is messy is because of COVID? Theyâre recycling each otherâs costumes maybe because they donât have the budget right now because they havenât been performing like before. Or why do you think theyâre doing this?
Hey! I think it depends a lot on the costume. I'm going to explain some of what @lightleckrereins and I have been theorizing. Super long, sorry about that!
Bryony Duncan: They probably weren't expecting the universal swings to go on as much as they have been, so I'm guessing it didn't make much sense for them to make new costumes right now. Her Bliss costumes were available and still fit (may have been some minor modifications), so there's not really any reason for her to not wear them. Right now we don't know what the case is with her Seymour top or skirt since we haven't seen it - she might just not be able to wear it for whatever reason, or they might have decided to just have her not wear them.
Natalie Pilkington/Cassandra Lee: This explanation is combined. We've been theorizing that Cassandra Lee will leave at cast change with her replacement wearing the pink alt costume which would leave Natalie as the only black alt. With the addition of a super swing to the Tour cast, they have four alts and need all four colors to not overlap. They'd prefer to have a black alt rather than pink alt as swing, so it seems like they'd rather temporarily have two black alts with minimum design overlap and be able to later have the full four than give Natalie pink alt for a while and then potentially have to switch both her and Cassy's replacement. It is a little complicated and some things are still unanswered but it seems like the most obvious explanation in terms of Six.
Natalie Pilkington: She's kept her old top (modified) and is in Liv's shorts, but everything else is new. Since she's not wearing any of her own old bottoms (Aragon skirt, Cleves shorts, Seymour/Parr pants) I'm guessing that they probably don't fit now, which would explain why she needed new ones and/or wore Liv's but kept her top.
Liv Alexander: Okay, all of these costumes have been confusing but not as much as Liv's. Originally Sofia was saying they just probably couldn't access the Breakaway costumes since they had left the ship so last minute and hadn't taken them off. We've seen Natalie in Liv's shorts since then, though, so that can't be the issue now. Once again, it's probably just an issue with her Breakaway costumes not fitting now. Like I mentioned with Bryony, I doubt they were expecting the standbys to go on this much and probably didn't find it that important to make her an entirely new costume when she might only wear it a handful of times. We don't know when she was asked to play Boleyn on Breakaway 2.0 and if it was when she was offered the standby - if it was all in the same contract there's really no need for her to be made a costume when she'll only be there for about two months (Shekinah had one for her fairly brief run but very different time/scenario at Six). The band/emergency cover costume is always the go-to for when someone needs to go without a costume so that wasn't a surprise that she wore that. Of course they'd prefer she went on in actual costumes rather than the band/ec look, so the Grace/Shekinah outfits were probably a pleasant surprise. I don't know why she didn't just wear Grace's to start with back when she debuted as Seymour - it may have been being altered to fit her (no obvious alterations at first glance), they might not have had access to Grace's at the time, or they just might not have realized.
Vicki Manser/Jodie Steele: Right now Vicki is wearing Jodie's Howard costume. It doesn't make a lot of sense since most of the other principals got brand-new costumes with the updated designs since the show started (everyone but Maddie which is also interesting). Sofia and I are thinking that Vicki is on a shorter/more temporary contract with Jodie scheduled to return after her engagement with Heathers ends (that ends this fall but announced cast change date is in March). Assuming Jodie comes back, she'll presumably receive the new updated Howard costume (always a chance that it might be someone else and not Jodie, but Jodie seems to make sense). If Vicki's just going to be with the show more temporarily, again it doesn't make as much sense for them to make her an entirely new costume when they have one that fits her.
There's some element of time/money/workload as well - only making the necessary costumes is always going to be helpful in all of those things, and we can see that they were trying to prioritize keeping what they could from pre-lockdown.
I do have some theories about how some of this might change in the future for the standbys/alts (these aren't ones Sofia and I have talked about, so Sofia I'd love to hear your thoughts on these as well!) Depending on how long Natalie stays with the show she might have to get a new top at some point. If Bryony stays contracted as a standby for a significant length of time and continues to go on this much, she might get to the point where an entirely new costume is needed (if that's the plan I think there's a chance she might get one at or around cast change). If Bryony joins as a principal or official WE alt/swing, she'll definitely get a new costume. Anyone still in their original tour costume (Harriet, Jen, and Maddie) will probably get one at tour cast change as well if they're all staying.

Why do you think somethingâs changed? Every time people say that I literally never see it. And I end up being right LOL. Itâs literally a cycle with jikook people will be like âthey changed!!â just to be proven wrong over and over and over again. I personally donât see what you are seeing so can you please elaborate?
Well first off, keep in mind I'm super new. Been at this 6 months. So, like, I probably know just enough to be dangerous, here.
I'm watching old and new content all at once, catching up. I've seen pre-pandemic Jikook constantly touch each other, compliment each other, flirt with each other, know private information and personal habits others don't, spend ridiculous amounts of down-time together, and while they did skinship with all members, there was this charged energy and heat around just them (to the point the other members used to groan and roll their eyes over it). I sensed a shift during the pandemic, but that was such a hard and uncertain time for everyone, their tour got canceled, they lost precious time before military service, everything was so stressful. But for me, doubts started creeping in in early 2022 when Jimin went radio silent. Then is mail, his address leaked, his apartment seizure scandal, his COVID and appendectomy, his fall on the Seoul stage, and the insane schedule, his barely promoted OST, the Grammys... and not one sign of support from JK, other than eating at a restaurant on White Day. There was some interaction at the Seoul concert but JK had a lot more interaction with other members. It was Vegas that made me think "oh, I was wrong, they're fine." All those moments on stage. The Vlive after. Going out to bbq late at night. Boxing together. Like, I was like "oh! It's just that we aren't SEEING as much of the evidence, probably because RUN isn't on anymore!" And maybe that's the cast post-Vegas concert. But I don't see JK being warm or supportive. And Jimin often looks down, stiff, a little cagey. I can't get a good read on JK (sometimes I wonder if I'm on the spectrum? I'm usually good at reading tone and facial expressions but he often comes off a bit blank to me). He just doesn't seem eager anymore to touch or flirt with or encourage or promote Jimin. So it doesn't jive with the older footage I'm working my way through. And I refuse to be gaslit or called a troll or anti. I LOVE Jimin and all BTS members. I fully admit I know almost nothing and could be a complete clown. I have no agenda, I'm just trying to understand. There was a time when JK used to look at Jimin like he hung the moon. Now he barely looks in Jimin's direction. Like, they went to the arcade with Hobi and Chris and HER, right? They were playing games, drinking beer, having fun. But there weren't couple-y vibes so much friendship vibes (in the admittedly short clips we saw on Insta). I hope the music performances coming up prove me a dead wrong FOOL. Maybe I'm just super insecure b/c I'm an adult child of divorce with trust issues. As long as Jimin and JK know where they are at with each other and are happy, I'm happy. They just don't seem to be super focused on each other right now and it has my antennae up.

Jan/Feb 2021 Picks
HELLO! Itâs been a while, but IâM BACK!! Life has gotten a lot busier as I started Grad School this January. So, I feel it may be tough being on time with future Monthly Wraps like Iâve done in the past with working on my MFA, and my job. Iâm going to probably do more seasonal wrap ups when I get the time. I also think Iâll be posting more individual posts as I watch an episode. Because even with a busier schedule, there is always time for TV and thereâs so much I want to talk about!
You know the drill. Spoilers are coming.....
Youâve been warned :)
WANDAVISION
I want to start off by mentioning that I have not watched this weekâs episode yet. So the last one I saw was EPISODEÂ 6 with Halloween in the late 90s/early 2000s.
THIS SHOW! OMG.
I didnât know what I was signing up for when I watched the first episode and I have been blown away. It is such a cool concept and I love the fact that everyone who watches it is confused. There have been so many interesting theories out there and I am so curious what is going to wind up being true. I love all the nods to old sitcoms and TV shows as well as all the MCU Easter Eggs. (I mean they got X-menâs Quicksilver-like WOW.) It feels really Black Mirror at times with the breaking of the fourth wall. I will never be able to shake the feeling I got in Episode 3, when Vision reversed. (And then I saw a bunch of videos with him looking at the camera as Wanda looks at the TV. Eww I donât like it, but itâs such a good move on their point.) I love the outside plot as well and the characters who were previously side characters in other MARVEL movies. The love for Jimmy Woo is astounding and Iâm here for it. Iâm glad itâs Friday, so I can watch the next episode. Iâm just upset that weâre so close to the show ending. The next Disney Plus Marvel shows better be just as good. Wandavision set the bar high. Â
NANCY DREW
If youâve visited this page recently, you know I have a very strong love for this show. It is the only one I am still watching religiously on the CW and I am tuning in the night it airs. (That is HUGE for me.) IT IS JUST SO GOOD AND I DONâT KNOW WHERE TO START....
2x05 just aired, which would have been the season 1 finale before COVID and I have it saved on my DVR to watch again. Thereâs just so much I want to relive and catch that I missed the first watch through. It would have been SUCH A GOOD FINALE, but Iâm happy that we can continue with new episodes starting next week. And with the way it ended...thereâs so much I need to know!! Iâm just curious how fast theyâre going to develop certain plots. I love the Drew Crew and how they are a family. Each character is so well developed and their chemistry is great. I love learning more about each of them and watching them develop. My favorite character is definitely Ace. I love all his witty lines and how he is opening up more to the group as well as to us, the audience, as we get more of a look into his personal life. I enjoy all of his scenes with his dad and specifically liked when they were celebrating Shabbat. (I am also here for the Nancy and Ace content. I gush more about this on my other blog: lydia-whogowith-stiles. Check it out if you want to hear more.)
THE WATCH
When I watched the Christmas special (or was it New Years? and why does that feel so long ago) of Doctor Who, BBC America kept advertising a new show called the Watch. Due to the extensive amount of commercials, I decided to tape the first two episodes (which premiered back to back) to see what it was all about. I was unaware that this series is based on the book series created by Terry Pratchett. When I came to see if people were talking about it on Tumblr, I saw that a lot of people didnât like it because of how drastically different it was. As I was unfamiliar with the original, I canât compare. The TV show was eight episodes and I just watched the last one that aired this past Sunday. I definitely liked the first half of the season more (I noticed my mind start to drift as I watched later ones), but thought the finale was good. I really enjoyed how they incorporated the theme song. I didnât realize the connection earlier and now canât stop humming it. (I donât know if there will be another season or not.) I enjoyed the characters and how it was like nothing Iâve seen on TV before. It got me thinking a lot about blending genres. I would still recommend checking it out. Â
ZOEYâS EXTRORDINARY PLAYLIST
I was VERY excited for this show to come back. I loved the first season so much. Itâs just such a heartfelt show and it helped me survive the early parts of quarantine. So far, this season I am noticing how detailed the musical performances are. Mandy Moore is doing an AMAZING job. The choreography is *chefs kiss* I also feel like the song choices have been great and not always the ones I think that would be picked. We are getting to learn more about each character and watch Zoey and her family as they continue life after losing Mitch. I am here for Mo and Maxâs restaurant. I think the concept would be so cool in real life. Who knows maybe weâll see one now. (Maxâs rendition of âNumbâ was amazing. Iâve never heard the song like that and I think it might be one of my favorites of the season so far.) I hope Max and Zoey get back together by the end of the season. It did feel fast, so I do understand why they had to break up, but it still makes me sad that we watched them get together and then it was taken away from us. The last episode before the break was so powerful and I think the show did an amazing job applying real world issues into their plot. It did not feel forced at all and brought so much awareness. Upset we have to wait so long for a new episode.Â
SECRETS OF SULPHUR SPRINGS
Are you looking for a good mystery, but donât think Disney Channel can provide it? Think again. I have to say, when I started watching I was not expecting this show to be a part of my monthly picks. It pleasantly surprised me. The show involves the mystery of a young girl, Savannah, who went mysteriously missing at camp back in the 90s. Apparently, her ghost still haunts the hotel that was on the camp grounds to this day. Then Griffin and his family buy the hotel with intent of fixing it up and reopening it after all these years. The people in the town think theyâre crazy because of its past. But thereâs something more going on with Griffinâs dad as well as some of the other adults in the town. They know something about Savannahâs disappearance, but arenât saying anything about it. While this is a kidâs show (and only half hour episodes) it has been interesting to see where the story will go. Iâm sure I am imagining much more intense things for her disappearance than what actually happened. Itâs also not super cheesy or have bad acting, which is refreshing. (I really feel Disney Channel has gone down.) Either way, I donât know how many episodes are left to air, but I think weâre pretty close to the end. If youâre looking for a quick, entertaining mystery I would highly recommend. Â
MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE
And here come my period pieces (ironically both from Masterpiece/PBS this time). I know last year I felt like I watched a lot of historical watches at the beginning of the year. Weâll see if that continues to happen this year too. It does serve as a nice escape. Plus, these are some really good stories.Â
Miss Scarlet and the Duke is a part of Masterpiece Mystery on PBS, although it aired on a different network in the UK. It is (another) mystery series (shocking I know with that title!) It follows Eliza Scarlet who has a nose for mystery, but as a woman living in the Victorian era does not have any rights except for being a wife and mother (two things she would rather not be). When her father dies (apparently from a heart attack...emphasis on apparently), she takes over his Private Investigator business. Much to the dismay of long time family friend William âThe Dukeâ who is a Detective Inspector for Scotland Yard. Eliza is often in his office as she gets arrested for being places she shouldnât or trying to get information out of him. This element of Eliza having to work in a very male dominated Victorian society is one that I feel I havenât really seen on a TV show. I really like her dynamic with William. Thereâs always that feeling of âwill they wonât they,â but I donât feel the show just focuses on that. The mystery is the heart of it all. This last weekâs episode was REALLY GOOD. As we got to find out more regarding her fatherâs death. I hear a lot of people want a season 2 and I am right there with them. This show deserves it.Â
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
Another PBS Masterpiece watch. I love this show, so much more than I was anticipating. It is so heartfelt and makes me so happy and in a good mood after watching it. It follows James Herriot who has recently graduated from veterinary school, but is struggling finding a job. Then he gets a call from Siegfried Farnonâs veterinary practice in Yorkshire. Siegfried is known for having a harsh demeanor and temper, so the assistants he hires donât often last long. Spoiler alert, that should be pretty obvious, James does. The cast of characters are so lovely and I like all their relationships with one another. The show takes places in the 1930s and I realized I donât often watch things in this era, so that has been fun to explore. The sets and locations are BEAUTIFUL. In the episodes, we often get these amazing shots that sweep over the exterior and I want to travel to Yorkshire like tomorrow. (See more escapism, itâs great.) The main plot follows everyone interact in the town and watching James become a more confident and experienced veterinarian (which I decided I could never do after watching). I heard that it has been renewed for a second season so that is so fantastic.Â
FATE: THE WINX SAGA
The first things I heard about this show was how disappointed everyone was in how they decided to adapt the Winx Club show from their childhood. On this I can agree, but I decided to watch the show anyway. I pretended that it was something new entirely and I have to say I enjoyed it. Of course, there were parts that bothered me and then I had to remember it was a teen show, so angst would be annoying. I think overall it was too short (and should have at least 8 or 10 episodes), but Iâm happy that they were able to conclude the main plot well. (Although we did get that cliffhanger, but it is exciting that it was released the show just got renewed for a second season the other day.) I really liked Silva-mainly because it was great seeing Thomas from Downton Abbey in something else. I also enjoyed seeing Jacob Duchman in more things. It was a surprise to see him in Medici and I am just happy he is adding more to his IMDB.Â
Quick and addicting watch. Add it to your queue. Just forget itâs supposed to be based on something else.Â
BLOWN AWAY SEASON 2
Continuing with the Netflix picks, one of my FAVORITE picks from 2020 got a season 2 and it is already on Netflix! Thatâs right Blown Away season 2 is now available. I seriously loved the first season of this show SO MUCH! Glass blowing is such a magical process and I am mesmerized every time I watch it. It felt weird starting this show with all new contestants, but then Alex came back as a guest judge and I was so happy. It is just as addicting and I cannot wait to see who wins this season. I am just trying not to rush the episodes.Â
VIOLETTA SEASON 3 UPDATE
I know you were all dying to know...
After taking a hiatus from watching during the holidays, I have gotten back into watching the Disney Channel telenovela on Disney Plus. I am now on episode 68. Things are really starting to happen and I am finding myself getting sucked in again, which makes me happy. Episode 60 (pictured above) had A LOT happen and really was a turning point for the second half of the show. Canât wait to keep watching. Some really awesome songs from these last set of episodes.Â
AND NOW FOR MY NOT LOVING IT PICK:
LEGACIES
This third season has really disappointed me so far. As Iâve previously discussed on this page, it feels like they are just reusing previous plots from the last two seasons when there is so much more they can do. There was so much promise for this show and I loved the Vampire Diaries and Originals so much, that itâs sad to see Legacies miss the mark. I wish they gave Hope more storylines that didnât revolve around Landon. She is such a strong character and is SO POWERFUL. This is something we rarely see and it shouldnât only be shown to save a guy (multiple times). Their couple plot is continually doing the same thing. I want to see a lot more development with this show over this season to keep me watching. I am actually happy that there isnât a new episode until March 11th. (Thatâs saying something...)Â

CBSâ NCIS: Los Angeles, by writing out not just Eric but also Nell in its Season 12 finale, made the question of Linda Huntâs involvement in the CBS series more burning than ever.
After all, if Nell (played by Renee Felice Smith) was groomed all season long to take over for the MIA Operations Manager, who will lead the team in her sudden absence?
Or might the ânew Hettyâ be in fact the very best Hetty, as in Hunt herself?
TVLine spoke with showrunner R. Scott Gemmill about Huntâs cameo in the season finale and what that means for Season 13, and more. (And as always, if you seek additional NCIS: LA scoop, email [email protected]. Iâm sitting on tons!)
TVLINE | Hetty showing upâŠ. Eric and Nell riding off into the sunsetâŠ. âDensiâ picnicking on the beachâŠ. Sam seeing his son take his fighter pilot examâŠ. Correct me if Iâm wrong, but  was this the happiest damn NCIS: LA season finale weâve ever hadâŠ? Well, it wasnât what we were going to do, thatâs for sure. We were going to use the finale that we had written for last season, which got bumped because of COVID, and then we realized everyone had such a tough, sâtty year, that we couldnât in good conscience put the fans through any more trauma. So we decided to go in the exact opposite way and do a fun, feel-good episode that leaves everyone happy and hopeful for what is coming down the line.
TVLINE | What was the gist of the original, bumped finale? It involved Anna and Katya and that storyline, which we still want to play out. But it was a little darker than [what we went with]. If ever there was a season where you wanted to go out on a fun, happy note, this was the one where everyone needed that more than we needed to show off some cool episode. We needed to make everyone feel good.
TVLINE | I liked how at that one point Sam and Callen recounted everything that theyâd gone through during this crazy year. You know, the fans have been really loyal for 12 years, and sometimes we do things that are exciting but are also a little bit traumatic, and we felt like we should have as much fun as we can and share that with the fans. It was like a little âlove letterâ to the audience, to show how much we appreciate them.
TVLINE | Amongst other things, you also apparently had an election in your world, because the president who gave Kessler the pardon is now a former POTUS. But itâs not Trump, because your guy was a former congressman, right? Yeah. Yeah. We always have to have a loophole!
[We then discussed the decision to write our Eric and Nell, reported here.]
TVLINE | What sort of reactions did you get from Barrett and RenĂ©e, when you told them your plan? You know, it goes back and forth with each season. There have been seasons where Barrett has gotten sort of bored â he really pulls toward Broadway â and I would always have to have the duality conversation, which is, as a friend, âI totally understand. You want to be doing something else, something cool. You should.â But as a father figure, Iâm like, âKeep getting the paycheck because one day the showâll be over, and then you can do whatever you want.â
RenĂ©eâs the same; a lot of the time when we havenât seen her, itâs because weâve written her out so that she can pursue [other projects]. Sheâs developing her own shows, and just wrote a book thatâs out. A lot of the actors have other projects; Dani [Ruah] is directing a movie in Portugal right now. Itâs such a gift to have a show go this long, but itâs also a big ask to have someone do the same thing for a long time, whether itâs actors or writers or one of the crew.
TVLINE | With Nell gone, what is the plan to fill Hettyâs position? Right now, weâre kicking around some ideasâŠ.
TVLINE | It seems like you may have to bring on someone new. As you know, Linda [Hunt] was away a lot more this season because of COVID and us trying to keep her safe. The couple of episodes that she was in, where she was supposed to be in the Middle East, we actually shot in her driveway. That was getting a little more difficult to do, and then finally, Linda had both her vaccines, she was feeling great, and she came back. And she was so happy to be back. She had been gone for so long and hadnât really interacted with anyone, so she was just so thrilled to be back on set. The minute I saw her, sheâs like, âLetâs talk about next seasonâŠ,â so I think that as tough as last year was, for a lot of reasons, she, like the rest of us, is starting to see a little light at the end of the tunnel and feels good about coming back to work.
TVLINE | Thatâs good to hear, because Hettyâs line about still being up to her âass in alligatorsâ made me worry you were hedging your bets. Whenever [a cast member] goes away, we introduce some predicament that weâre forced to deal with. We always try and incorporate it. I think those are instances of opportunity rather than problems. Like when Dani was pregnant, or whatever it is thatâs thrown at us, we try to incorporate that.  You normally wouldnât ever write one of your No 1 through 6 actors  out for four or five episodes, because you couldnât afford to, but when they have to for whatever reason, you try and jump at that because thatâs something you donât normally get to do, and you build that into the story. Like, âWhere is this character?â Obviously, Hetty was away, but we want there to be a real reason, and weâll probably revisit that next season.
TVLINE | So, we might get a good amount of Hetty in Season 13? Thatâs the plan, yeah.
TVLINE | In the meantime, what an MVP Gerald McRaney has been, as Kilbride! Oh, manâŠ. I have been a huge fan of his forever. I mean, I grew up watching him and I was really happy when we had him on the show the first time, a few years ago. Heâs such a pro and so cool, he raises everybodyâs game.
TVLINE | And Kilbrideâs such a pisser, grumbling about the millennials and their TikToks. Heâs so great because he can do comedy, and he can do drama, and he likes to be out running around with guns, because heâs a big hunter in real life. We hope to see a lot more of him.
TVLINE | Was there anything you didnât get to in Season 12? There were a lot of things, like Callenâs past as a child; we probably would have started to explore that a bit more. We didnât get to where Hetty was; that was a big storyline that we were building towards with, what she was involved in. If we were having a normal season, we would have gone to where Hetty was.
TVLINE | When she and Nell hugged, I got teary-eyed, man. I felt like RenĂ©e was really crying in that scene. Thatâs what we wanted. We didnât want to shortchange that return, so we had Hetty make an appearance with Nell, and then had a little fun with her and Kilbride.
TVLINE | Turning to the week prior, I kind of loved how Joelle is basically a Bond villain at this point, dressed all in black with one gloved hand and a prosthetic legâŠ. I talked to Elizabeth [Bogush] ahead of time and said, âI think weâre going to cut your leg off,â and she was like, âWhat??â [Laughs] You want to have some legitimate repercussions for some of this craziness, and that seemed like a good way to do it.
TVLINE | Renewal came later than usual this year. Are you preparing for next season to possibly be your last? We sort of always have that in the back of our mind, and this year wasnât any different. Next season, I hope to get a heads-up if that is the case, just so that we can go out with an episode or a bunch of episodes that really tie up things and send our characters into the future in a way that makes everyone happy. But weâll just have to wait and see. No one ever knows. If there is someone that knows, theyâre not telling me!
TVLINE | You think itâll be a full season? I think weâre scheduled to do 18 episodes. I would like to do [at least] 19, because that will get us to 300. I would really like to get 300, because thatâs such a milestone.

Day after day this summer, with covid-19 shuttering much of the world, Lily Cowles would enter a small sewing room in her familyâs 18th century home in Northwest Connecticut, crawl inside some blankets, and scream. Along with her wails, sheâd repeat the same phrases, over and over â all part of a daily ritual that spanned some four hours, until a collection of voices told her they were satisfied. Then she would collect herself, climb out from the blankets and greet her boyfriend who could hear her through the walls in the next room.
âMan, you died a lot of ways today,â heâd say.
âI donât know why they killed me so bad,â Cowles would reply.
Such were the unusual conditions for Cowles and others when recording the dialogue â and other vocalizations â for the upcoming game âCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,â the newest addition to the famed and fanciful war sim series. The blanket-draped fort served as the actressâs workstation, with a host of audio producers providing directions via video conference. Occasionally those instructions included imagining a wide variety of fates for her character, requiring lengthy sessions capturing death cries. All of it was part of a months-long, pandemic-related process to produce the game, one that proved both challenging in its never-before-done nature and cathartic for its ample opportunities to exorcise the many anxieties of 2020.
âIt just felt so good to scream for that long,â said Cowles, who plays MI-6 operative Helen Park and supplied the characterâs voice for both the gameâs story and multiplayer modes. She recalled one session in which the gameâs audio producers recorded her falling from a 30-story building. âI was like, âcan we make it 40 floors? I could really use the extra 10 [stories] of just straight screaming.â It just felt like a real relief.â
The unorthodox routine was shared by âCold Warâsâ cast of 125 actors as they pivoted to follow safety protocols related to the novel coronavirus, which temporarily shut down the gameâs production in March. The latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, releasing Nov. 13, was completed with both developers and actors working remotely and overcoming a variety of logistical challenges.
âAt the time [in March, when covid cases escalated in the United States] we thought it might be like 20 people or 50 percent of the studio who would have to work from home, and maybe that would be for like two weeks,â Dan Vondrak, Senior Creative Director at Raven Software, said. âAnd then it was everybody. ⊠In my head, I was thinking, if this thing lasts six to eight weeks, we canât get it done. Thatâs impossible.â
For Cowles and the gameâs other actors, that meant recording lines of dialogue â and their many screams â from the confines of their homes. That process normally would be captured in large part during live shoots using motion capture suits on a studio sound stage. During the pandemic, capturing those recordings provided a unique challenge for narrative producer Natalie Pohorski and her team.
âOne of those areas I thought we were just dead in the water was the external talent [voice overs],â Vondrak said. âI canât have actors go into a studio. So, how is this going to work? And what Natalie and the narrative team did to get that to work and have people recording at home was unbelievable.â
Before dispersing from the studio, Pohorski and Vondrak estimated they had between 50 and 60 percent of the voice over work finalized. Working with their partners at Activision (the gameâs publisher) and Treyarch (âCold Warâsâ co-developer), Pohorski and her team shipped the actors crates filled with recording equipment that included helmets wired with microphones, sound mixing boards and materials to improve the acoustics around their homes.
âThey sent me this giant Pelican briefcase that looked like Iâm an arms dealer,â Cowles said.
Veteran actor Bruce Thomas, who plays the role of CIA agent Russell Adler in the game, already had a 5-foot-by-5-foot sound booth heâd constructed in his apartment adjacent to his kitchen. Heâd used it to previously to record voice overs, including for some commercials, but heâd never recorded himself there quite so regularly â or at quite the same volume level. To that end, he sought to get ahead of any potential problems with a kind gesture and a heads-up for his neighbors about any yells they may hear through the walls.
âI delivered cookies and a little note to their doors right next to me and below me,â Thomas said. âI just moved here in January, so I hadnât really met them yet, and I got a text message from the person below me who was like, âOh my God! You do that for a living? How cool is that? Even if I hear you, donât worry about it.ââ
The conditions also required the actors to perform another role as well: that of audio engineer, recording and tinkering with sound levels to ensure quality and consistency. The studioâs engineers would call actors and walk them through proper setups and troubleshoot issues, but when something went wrong, the actors would have to be the ones to fix it manually. Turns out CIA operatives have the same tech troubles as other remote workers.
âBecause of covid, everybodyâs home and sharing bandwidth,â Thomas said about the Internet connection in his apartment building. âSometimes it would just cut right out [during an online recording session]. And sometimes when that happens, a glitch will happen on your laptop and so you have to reboot it.â
The recording process consisted of four sessions per day, every day of the week, according to Pohorski, who also noted they wrapped at a similar time compared to what theyâd anticipated in their pre-pandemic production schedule, even as they navigated challenges that would have been easily addressed in their usual studio setting.
âTo not be able to just walk up and touch the screen and act out what I was talking about ⊠âI want the guyâs head to turn this way,â ⊠I was trying to do it real time in a video camera,â Vondrak said. âJust the communication of that last 20 percent [of the game] was probably the most difficult.â
The on-the-fly evolution of several standardized processes did carry some fringe benefits, according to both the developers and actors. On the development team, Vondrak noted some people seemed more willing to contribute their opinions to the creative process when they didnât feel the pressure of speaking up in a formal meeting. For the actors, Cowles said her isolated, remote location led her to take more chances with her character.
âI think I was able to make facial expressions and noises that, in a normal setting, my body would be like, âDonât, donât, donât. You donât want to make that noise. Donât make that face,â" Cowles said. âBut I was alone in this thing, and you know, the context in which weâre working [as characters] is this crazy war zone where horrible things are going down. Right? And no one in that situation is thinking about the sound theyâre making or the face that theyâre making. ⊠I think that led to a degree of authenticity in my work.â
Another silver lining, according to Vondrak, was the increased flexibility in scheduling follow-up sessions for VO work. Oftentimes VO recording sessions are pegged to specific times of the year when the developers can gather all the actors in one place and free them from their other projects. (For example, Thomas is also the motion capture actor for Master Chief for the upcoming game âHalo: Infinite.â) With everyone working from home, the actorsâ schedules became more flexible.
âIt was like, wait a minute, we can just go back to these people and have them pop out of their family room, into their closet and record some VO lines,â Vondrak said. âNormally it would have been like, âWe need some new lines.â And [the schedulers] would have said, âWell, the next pick up session where everyoneâs going to be in the studio is June.' Itâs [normally] a very slow, formal process."
The flexibility did carry an occasional side effect of home life encroaching on the working world, and vice versa, often providing a uniquely 2020 kind of amusement.
Cowles remembered recording a scene in which her character laments the loss of one of her companions, screaming his name repeatedly as a helicopter whisks her away.
âI came out of the sewing room, and my boyfriend is like ⊠âSo, who is he?ââ Cowles said. âI was like, âDonât worry about it. Heâs dead now.ââ
