Thinking of Dad Marvel again.

I don't know why but when I think of him looking at one of his kiddos tm I don't think of the usual small fond smile or affectionate smirk.

I think of the all encompassing smile that hurts your face.

Not bright and wide, but the type where your cheeks are so hugh they're inhibiting your vision.

The kind that goes up, not out. There is no wide beaming smile like the sun, it's the type of smile you do as a kid when you're trying to pout but your parent said something really funny. No matter what you do your cheeks remained raised and it's just so obvious so matter how you cover your face that you're smiling.

The kind that makes the back of your head ache from the love you feel.

That makes your shoulders bunch up like they're getting ready to fight this overwhelming ammount of love.

The kind you can only see from the outside.

Forever looking at someone with all that love, directed at another.

Cuz it's is few and far between when you notice someone looking at you in such a way

That’s the best part honestly. Cap gives love like no one else. He’s not one of those disgruntled adults that tries to keep an overbearing barrier. When the kids tell, they know he’s listening because his eyes are trained on them so intently. He’s a big part of the kids’ lives as a team despite not officially being on the Team.

I just love the thought of Captain Marvel giving these kids some much needed love and having it be because Billy is determined to spread the love he felt from his family.

Because the Batsons were definitely that picture perfect family, but for real. There were endless kisses and hugs and late night movies. After losing it all, Billy became even more grateful for it than he already was, and vowed to shower as many people as he could with that kind of love.

It’s something the kids aren’t used to because they’ve been surrounded by unorthodox family and living situations, so for something as loving and normal as Cap’s smile and the way he treats them, they’re a little taken aback.

But once they get used to it, they’re all for Dad Marvel!
