I HATE and I mean HATE THIS REDDIT ONG homophobia has tow down a bit but ugh…this sub Reddit….is depressing as hell

Like LIKEEEEE uh there’s a lot of things I dislike that I’m going to explain here I’ll try not to make it long but I’m a yapper SOO no promises (also there will be so many spelling mistakes erm)

Ok First things first

They hate the books like genuinely hate it, it’s wild. And not in the way we’re there just criticizing like I’ve seen on here. I’ve seen some very good points and discussions that have been overall respectful and you can tell they still enjoy the books even with the criticism. Like I’ve eaten up every book but still had the things I like to nitpick. But on the sub Reddit…it’s such a different vibe man.. like they find it childish (crazy it’s almost like it was made for 12 year old ) and just dislike every book except like the first. They constantly talk about how much they think the newer suck. They hate the plot and most of it writing. At this point don’t read it????? You clearly do not enjoy the books why are you here???

And the worst part is there are a lot of younger kids on there then here.. like these are kids who want to find a space to talk about there favorite books and your just complaining all the time…UUGHHHGBHBHH

Let’s just start of with the fact the if you go on there now I guarantee if you scroll down a bit you will find a post hating on Sophie. It’s all the same stuff to “I miss the old Sophie! She’s such a brat now!” She’s so annoying she doesn’t deserve Keefe!” “I hate how rude she is in stellarlune !” That pretty basic and toning  it down a lot . But you get the idea it’s that all the time with a few more things obviously. They think she’s a Mary sue they hate how many powers she’s has they call her weak and are annoyed with the fact that she can’t ever beat the neverseen (it’s almost like she 15 with very little training on how to fight and no one ever offers except until FLASHBACK. when they finally are like hmm maybe we should teach her how to defend herself! REALLY NOW? AFTER ALL THIS TIME??) they give very very little grace.

But it keeps going now there is hate for fitz…but I feel like the hate for Sophie is worse.

I am really wanting to write drabbles for Elrond and Thranduil. But, before I dive in I've been trying to develop my own head canons for my au. This doesn't mean I will stop writing for Gimli and Legolas though. I adore them far too much! 😍

Here's my head canons! I personally think Elrond and Thranduil would balance each other very well.

Thranduil

Definitely a bi-guy and is 100% a disaster.

Is both Barbie and Ken at the same time, or separately depending on his mood. I say this because I canon him to have a perfect blend of fem and masculine styles that are glamorous. No pun intended (we all know he uses glamor). The way he carries himself is very much like a popular girl at the mall (Barbie) but is athletically masculine (Ken).

100% brat energy.

Can easily be a party 'girl' without that effecting his masculinity in anyway.

I imagine he probably does wear makeup from time to time.

I could see him being a very sexually charged individual.

Has heavy trust issues that cause him to keep people at a distance. I'm wanting to say because he is secretly sensitive he does this to avoid getting hurt.

Overly emotional and overly dramatic. He is the drama king!

He gives me the air of someone who is wildly insecure, with very low self-esteem, and poor body image; who hides behind a hyper confident mask.

After losing his wife (the main form of stability in his life) he turned to alcoholism and hides behind a false party persona.

Is absolutely terrified of anything happening to his son. Is extremely overbearing to the point where he has projected his own fears onto legolas and has accidentally been pushing them (I canon legolas to be a they/them) away.

Tries to be supportive but falls flat because he is a helicopter parent.

He for sure did not let Legolas out of his sight until they were in their equivalent of teen elf years. This made his son grow even more rebellious causing a rift in both their lives.

I think it absolutely destroyed him inside to let Legolas go out into the world in the movies. But, he did so because he had to let go eventually. Hanging on tightly would make him lose his son forever

Will argue with Legolas about leaving the palace to go fight the spiders and other creatures in forest very much the way Ariel's dad does when Ariel goes to the surface in the little mermaid movie.

Definitely needs guidance from a Dom.

He is a single mom. Again this doesn't effect his pronouns.

He always struck me as a paramedic type too, especially if assisting in battle. I mean he is a very skilled healer canonically.

Can appear tired and done with life, but also has a secret streak of dad humor/lame humor.

Extremely patient.

Is very lonely. Life has not been kind to him canonically. And his children drifted away from him, lost his twin and other loved ones too 😢 So I think that is the reason why in my canon he tries to be dad for others. It helps that he's older than most too.

Hi there! Is there a retelling where Lot is a good, well-written character? So far I've seen he's usually portrayed as a full-blown villain or at least a complete jerk, and it makes me sad because I think that he is much more complex in the Vulgate and Le Morte (and also at the beginning in Les enfances Gauvain, 10/10)

I'm a King Lot enjoyer and apologist, I got you. Good Lot is so hard to find. Actually the best Lot is trapped in a mediocre book, The Winter Knight by Jes Battis. He’s a single dad working constantly to support Gawain. It’s so cute. Sleepy depressed dad ily. But it's a reincarnation urban fantasy drowning in "quirky" modern references that really killed the vibes for me. Canadian Lot ain't cutting it. :^/

For a more medlit-abiding story, I like Lot in Bedivere by Wayne Wise particularly because even though Gawain (and eventually Agravaine) bend the knee to Arthur against his wishes, Lot is kinda proud of them for having conviction it was sweet. He was like "Noooo don't be your own men haha ;^)" And then he just....let's them do what they wanted without giving them shit for it. Refreshingly normal parent. He didn't fight [much] with Arthur either he's like, "Alright whatever me and my hot wife are going back north to the babies bye."

Lot and Morgause are both kinda funny in The Story of Sir Launcelot and His Companions by Howard Pyle just because Gareth is their favorite and they spoil him lol It actually made for a compelling kitchen boy story because it explains where Gareth gets his attitude which is what gets him in trouble with Kay. The whole court fawns over him to be in the king and queen's good graces and made Gareth a brat (affectionate).

Lot is barely a character in Sharan Newman's trilogy but he's a good dude and Agravaine is the only kid he actually sired so he likes him best. Surprisingly upstanding interpretation of them both. Here's a quote from The Chessboard Queen.

Lastly I wouldn't say Starz Camelot (2011) has a good Lot, but he's very sexy. He's in the first two episodes (and comes back as a vision in a later episode). He's definitely a bloody warlord killing whoever but he's really into Morgan. I mean duh, look at her. Things go downhill quickly but...James Purefoy the man that you are....

They love each other unconditionally and are closer than most siblings, and I want to answer with a definite yes, but it’s more of a soft yes.

They’d die for each other and would never want to cause each other any harm, but they both hold very deep-rooted and painful resentment toward each other. This anger, while valid on its own, feels unjustifiable and selfish to both brothers, and is why they have a hard time addressing it. It only starts to get resolved later (for now I’m aiming at the time frame after Floyd leaves the band and before Les runs into him again, which is Hed’s late twenties and Les’s early thirties) when Les finally opens up to Hed about things that happened during their early childhood in the Rock Kingdom, which Hed was too young to comprehend or remember, and this revelation puts a lot of things into perspective for Hed and is extremely cathartic for both of them.

Like I’ve mentioned, Les didn’t talk to Hed about his trauma, (they are four years apart which is a big gap when you’re a kid), and Hed could never fully understand why Les had taken him with him to the Funk Kingdom. It’s a question he never receives an honest answer to, and it’s something he (although unwillingly/with doubt) resents him for since he had a difficult childhood in Vibe City as the only tiny Rock Troll who always got othered and excluded, even bullied.

There is also the related issue where Hed doesn’t understand why his brother is so troubled and disconnected, because he’s under the impression that they’ve more or less been in the same boat all their lives. That it’s always been them against the world. He even thinks Les had it better than him since he is half Funk and sticks out less like a sore thumb among a Funk society than Hed does…

I realize I’ve never addressed this directly, even though I figure some of you probably assume it already, but Les is a deeply depressed character and has been like this since he was very young (similar to Branch, although it’s expressed differently), and he has occasional episodes where he spirals and even becomes suicidal. The first time it happened and he tried to go through with it, Hed was only 8-10 years old, and the fact that his big brother was willing to end it all and leave him alone shook Hed’s entire world. The incident filled him with such intense fear and hurt that he cannot find it in him to forgive his brother for it no matter how much he wants to. He also developed anxiety surrounding Les’s mental state and is terrified of letting him out of his sight for longer periods for fear of losing him.

Les’s resentment towards Hed stems mostly from jealousy and not knowing where to direct his own hurt, and he hates himself for these feelings because none of it is Hed’s fault. — Hed is/was both of their dads’ favorite son, and as far as Les is convinced, he was their mom’s favorite too. He dodged all the worst abuse Les experienced under Butch, Butch even flaunted Hed as his son just to put Les down, and as a little kid Les pretty much hated his baby brother for it. Hed was always seen as the “better” brother even though Hed was a loud brat compared to Les. But it didn’t take long for him to grow on Ish and his roommates while there was always tension between Les and his dad (due to Les already being deeply messed up by the time they got to Ish). Hed in general is a charismatic social butterfly who knows how to get on trolls’ good side. He vibes with both Rock and Funk Trolls, and clicks with most music and trolls in general, while Les struggles with social interactions that aren’t work related and often comes off awkward, especially as a teenager, he’s more casual in his twenties and onward, though still very much closed off.

Hed is also very smart (academically. in regards to reading the room, he is a dumbass), he always kept up with school, which he was allowed to attend without question, there was even early talk about uni, while Les never even got to finish elementary school because of his poor performance and him getting expelled over an incident, and was forced to start working early.

Hed also (because of his small size) was often let off the hook when he’d get into trouble/do something stupid. He was babied (word used loosely) by Ish and their uncles a lot in general. If Hed broke something, he’d get yelled at while Les would have to fix it or pay for it out of his pocket. 

They lived under two completely different sets of rules all their lives and Les festered a lot of hurt from the unfairness of it.

Les’s resentment wanes over time. Floyd is the one who helps him find release for a lot of his bottled up pain during their time together. Floyd is basically the first person Les confides in about nearly everything he was put through, and he encourages Les to talk to Hed about it. Which he does after a few years, and Hed learning about what his brother was put through as a little kid is what allows him to finally understand and forgive his brother…

This man gives Freddy Krueger vibes. He normally "haunts" Copia already as a ghost, so it is easy to imagine him haunting you in your dreams.

You had been a noisy brat, digging shit to learn about him and his past, to find a way to stop him. He did not like that one bit. He was so ready to finally kill you in your sleep. When you gave yourself to your exhaustion he sensed you enter the realm of dreams, preparing to hunt you down and cut you bit by bit.

The setting of the dream was your old high school. You knew the building like the back of your hand, so it would be fairly easy to escape Nihil if he got you cornered, or so you thought. What you had not considered is that you were dreaming, and dreams are not an exact replica of the real world. You encountered bottomless pits, never-ending stairs and long and dark corridors that you did not remember being there in the first place.

Nihil caught up with you several times, each time leaving superficial cuts on your skin, making you whine and whimper in pain, but ultimately letting you escape. Those noises coming out of you were doing something to him, something that he had not felt in a very long time. He was going to see how long he could stretch your hunt so he could hear all the sweet noises that your were able to make. And who knows? Maybe if you play your cards right, he might let you live a little longer.

📦PRIMO - PINHEAD (HELLRAISER)📦

Primo is Pinhead 100%, have you seen him?

You had the box in your hands, and you were going to destroy it for good. The fire you had ignited lit your face in a monstrous fashion. You were beaten up and so tired that you thought that you were going to collapse there and then.

Slowly you extended your hand, holding the box tightly. Looking at the fire deeply until you saw yourself. A more powerful version of yourself was looking back, but you were still holding the box, this time close to your chest. You tilted your head, curious. Something was creeping your mind, and it was winning. Without thinking about it, you stepped forward towards the vivid flames. Suddenly, a hand came out the fire and grabbed the box. It was not tugging it, just holding it gently, brushing a finger on your knuckle. Then, something or rather someone appeared though the fire. A man, very tall and thin, with skull-like makeup and pins all over his face was looking at you with a mismatched gaze. You were entranced by him, by the contrast of his rough looks and gentle touch.

Primo was the keeper of the box, its protector. However, he had been alone for so long. He knew of your existence far long before you got the box. He saw something in you, a darkness equal to his own. An appreciation of the pleasure that comes from pain. You were like nothing he had seen before, and he hoped that you would accept what he was offering. The flames were only a mirror towards the future that could be if you let youself be free.

You had nothing left in this world, no one was going to miss you and you frankly had had enough of your pitiful existence. It was time to control something for once. So, you extended your other hand and put it on top of his, as if accepting your destiny besides Primo.

He understood. He knew that you wanted an escape. He had made sure that you wanted it. In return for all of the pain he had caused you, he was going to you all the pleasure you could handle. But he knew you were able to take all of it.

🌲SECONDO - JASON VORHEES (FRIDAY THE 13TH)🌲

Tought on the outside, softy on the inside.

This was the worst vacation of your life. The bodies of your dead workmates were scattered all over the camp and you were the last one alive. Not that you cared much about them, they were a buch of shitty assholes, but the scenery was not pretty to look at. That creep that had rose from the lake had killed everyone and now he was coming to get you as well. He was fast and silent, so you did the best you could to try to call the cops without making any sound.

Once you got to the only public phone of the camp, you used the last change you had left to call the cops. Hoping for a quick answer. Secondo was quicker though. He had cut the line some minutes before your arrival. He wanted you alone, all to himself. You reminded him of his youth, of how bad everyone was to him. He did not want the same to happen to you, that is why he had killed all those people. He had seen them hurting you, mocking you and calling you names. He did not understand why, to him you were the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He just wanted to protect you, to make things right, even if it meant to have himself drenched in guts, brains and blood. They were from those terrible people who had hurt you, so it was a pleasure for him to do so. He would cut his own limbs if that meant that he could see you smile. However, no one else could get involved, you had to understand his reasoning first. To him, it was love.

He was going to show you all his love by making the most beautiful bouquet. One smeared with the blood of those who had ever dared to wrong you. Then, you would understand. He had planned everything in is mind: a romantic gesture, followed by a dinner and then you giving yourself to him in every possible way. If you did not want that, he would leave you alone, but he had to try first.

📞TERZO - GHOSTFACE (SCREAM)📞

Of course the slut was going to be Ghostface.

He had killed all your friends, and in his opinion, he had saved the best for last. You had trapped yourself inside of your house, you were oh so helpless and terrified, a candy for him to taste and savour. So he decided to do just that, have a little taste.

The phone to your house rang, you were hopping for a friend or even the cops, but you knew better than that.

The sexual innuendo did not get pass you, and you blushed. You were a sucker for horror movies and this was turning like one of your most private dreams. Terzo had a very good view of you through the living room window. However, that knowledge, that perception of the other’s presence was not mutual.

He saw your cheeks glowing a crimson red, and your pupils dilating. He could also swear that he could feel the heat radiating from you out there in the cold. You were attracting him like a moth to a flame, and the feeling was mutual. For you, it did not help that Terzo's voice was so smooth and sensual, even through the phone.

“Oh! Did that get you all hot and bothered? Interesting. Maybe we can make a deal then.” He said, and you could hear him smile through the phone.

🔪COPIA - MICHAEL MYERS (HALLOWEEN)🔪

I think Copia, most of the time, is a bit silly to be Michael. However, I also believe than when serious, this man can be very scary and a bit stalky (and sexy AF). It also does not help that his mask looks a lot like Michael's. (Also the MV of Hunter’s Moon, duh!)

You were on your own, all your allies had been killed by the stalker. You had escaped to an abandoned building, but he was close behind, even if you could not see him. Knife in your hands, shaking like hell, you heard deep and steady breaths behind you. You turned abruptly to face their origin. There was nothing there. You were becoming paranoid, you said to yourself. But you were also sure that he was looking directly at you from the shadows.

It was true, Copia was having the time of his life. He had been obsessed with you for so long, and now, he had you so close. Your smell and your fear clouding his senses. He decided that that was it. He had been watching for far too long, he needed to touch you, now. So, he swiftly creeped behind, grabbed your hands and pinned them over your head. He pressed on your body, pushing you to the nearest wall. He was towering over you, mismatched eyes glowing behind his mask. Breath so hot and powerful that you could feel it even with the mask that separated your faces. He had you at last, the dim light from outside outlining your figure, so weak and small, all for him.

He truly did not want to hurt you that much. He just wanted to have you close all the time, to creep inside of you and stay there, forever. For him you were the comfort that he had been looking for during his entire existence. He could be sane with you by his side, or maybe you could be mad together. It did not matter that much to him.

You had stopped trembling at last. The tears that were close to come out from your eyes had dried completely. You looked at him, directly in the eyes. You saw the craziness, but also a passionate fire, just for you. That is when he let your hands go, but your bodies stayed so close to each other. You could feel his heart racing, something that you were sure that was not normal for a man like Copia.

If you wanted to live you had to risk it all, so you took the most insane approach you could think of. Very slowly you rose your hands to his face, touching the bottom of his mask. You stopped there, waiting for any kind of negative sign, anything that told you to stop. There was nothing.

Very slowly you took his mask off completely, revealing a very shy looking man. Sweat on his brow and black and white makeup smeared all over his face. You for sure felt like going insane, because to you he looked like the most beautiful man you had ever seen. You cupped his face, so gently it even scared you. It was like all the fear from the last few hours had dissipated completely. That is when you felt something poking your stomach, and you were sure that it was not a knife.

If she didn't have her millennium of experience staying her tongue she'd have slipped and called her Queen her daughter, and these two precious children her grand kittens.

And Luna was protective, just as much as any senshi if not more.

Like she must’ve been devestated every time, and Luna was there to held her down and keep her sane 😭 she always outlived them.

Greg and Marianne are so interesting, in addition to Greg and Ewan (and the fact we somehow never got any interactions between Marianne and Ewan?). @mossiestpiglet said in the tags of a post that we don't talk about them enough, and I concur. So allow me to do so.

I really do need to re-watch the early episodes to confirm, but from my memory, Marianne says she can't give Greg money and encourages him to go to New York City to ask for a job from Logan despite having, like, $20 left when he arrives (which makes it a huge gamble to do, given how fucking expensive NYC is otherwise). And despite the fact her own father would hate this, and wants Greg to have nothing to do with Logan. I always took it to mean she was not willing to give him money, but later on Greg talks to Caroline how his mother is solvent, debt free now. And even later, he's paying for her credit cards. So perhaps she simply had none to give.

Still, I remember getting the feeling that she was tired of dealing with him in the first few episodes and I sort of think that's part of it, but I also think she just can't help him any more than she has. She probably feels like a total failure, I mean, look at her cousins in comparison. Sure, we as the audience know they are complete messes, but at least they're rich and have the freedom to do whatever the fuck they want. Marianne at the very least does not have that luxury, and I'll say more on the financial situation throughout this post.

Greg is very clingy to her early, on and I believe they're implied to still be in contact afterwards. I think Ewan says that Marianne asked him to make sure Greg ate at Thanksgiving- that means Marianne is worrying over him going hungry (and he was going hungry, he was stealing food from work and Tom made fun of him for it).

Despite one mention in the script, Greg is vaguely not in contact with his father canonically, and I take his father's marked absence (when Greg is so reliant on his mother) to mean that he was raised by a single mother (I strongly believe he would have asked for support from his father too if he was in contact with him. It doesn't make sense to me that he wouldn't.)

Many people have noted that Marianne's scenes are often held in a bedroom, and it gives her a vaguely depressed vibe, and with her alluded financial issues, it seems like she struggled, alone. Even though her own father has millions of dollars he refuses to use.

Greg, although he is taking care of his mother financially (after she was unable and seemingly less willing to do so for him), is also a brat to her despite being an adult. No more than in the scene at a funeral where he tells her to shut up. (I personally have fairly chill parents who I can get fairly angry at and we bitch at each other, so,) I don't see this as majorly out of line or horrific, but rather as portraying that they are very casual with one another and she probably did not do a great job with discipline or, arguably, boundaries.

One thing I do want to take as canon despite it only being in the scripts is Greg's post-funeral fight with Ewan, and what I want to point out is that Greg says "mom and I have been talking and We are not coming to Christmas" which is only one line, but it feels HUGE in put together with the rest of their scenes.

Here, Greg is presenting himself and his mother as a united front against Ewan, a rich man whose child was in debt severe enough to be a topic of family gatherings, and whose grandchild was in such poverty he was sleeping in a church at one point... We have almost nothing to go off with Ewan and Marianne, but, I say again: it is quite absurd to me that he was sitting on 250mil for Greg while she struggled to raise him, presumably on her own. While she clearly checks in with Ewan about Greg back in Thanksgiving (again, unless i am mistaken then oops), Greg sits between the two of them at the funeral although he is her father, not his.

I have had friends tell me that even with their limited interactions, they get a strong impression that Marianne and Greg are quite codependent with one another, and I feel like I agree; he relies heavily on her for guidance and does not want to do things alone, but also takes care of her financially and comes across as mildly defensive about her towards Caroline, at least trying to make sure the family knows she's in a better place than she used to be. And, then with Ewan, he goes out of his way to say something to feel like it's him and mom against Ewan, when he is feeling incredibly, incredibly defensive and upset at Ewan.

For one reason or another, whether it be depression or financial mismanagement (probably a combination of both that fed into each other) Greg probably has not had much stability from Marianne but seeks her out anyway. Sure, he is an adult, and you may argue that he should be able to stand on his own feet by the start of season 1, he doesn't seem to have much else support besides her- and her him, from what very little we have seen. And honestly, parenthood does not stop at 18 years old, parents in my humble opinion should be prepared to support their kids for their whole lives as best as they are able.... and from what we can tell, this very well might be the best Marianne could have offered Greg, with how little support she must have gotten from Ewan who is incredibly gruff and only interested in his own 'environmentally-friendly' agenda. I doubt he was much help if she is indeed depressed, as many have taken her to be.

I am not even sure how to wrap this up. Just- the little glimpses that we get into Greg, Marianne, and Ewan paint such a sad fucking picture to me. Single mom, obstinate grandfather, and child who tries to please both of them but still never quite measures up. Growing up poor, with a grandfather who has millions but thinks money is the root of all evil and would rather nearly starve his own family than give it to them. And Greg doesn't even seem to resent this, although Marianne might at this point; at the start of the series he genuinely wants to make a good impression on Ewan and be sweet with him still. We didn't actually get their funeral fight, either, we got Greg saying "that was a good speech grandpa", playing both sides to the bitter end, still wanting to please Ewan in what tiny way he might be able to after his show of trying to stop him speaking. Greg desperately wants love and approval from Ewan, and he seems to get some but not a ton of support from Marianne, and we have almost no way to know exactly what goes on between father and daughter with the other two but... I cannot imagine it's a strong or loving relationship.

EASILY my favorite character. Me and my mutual have been rambling about him for days. So far he’s only had like eight minutes of screen time so don’t know why I like him so much, I just do. My silly babygirl. My borblo Right off the bat, he’s feather ticklish

Like, really. Feathers affect him more than actual fingers

I think he has a very gentle and soft laugh most of the time, but it can get loud if you hit a bad spot

I think his worst spots are his belly, neck, and chin

If you use a feather on any of those spots he will die

EXTREMELY squirmy. He will buck, kick, shove, squirm, whatever he has to do to get away

He’s a really gentle ler most of the time

He’ll just hold you close with an arm while he mindlessly traces his finger on your belly, reading his cards like nothings happening

If you want to get away he’ll let you

But if you tickle him first, that gentleness is thrown out the window and he immediately targets your death spots, scribbling his gloved fingers all over your squirming figure

He doesn’t do it for long tho, and he’s nice enough to get you some water afterwards :)

Perona:

MY GIRLLLL! I love her so so much she’s easily my favorite female character! I just love her style sm, I need her outfit! I love her little ghosts and her aesthetic as a whole, she’s just so pretty!

Persona just oozes sister vibes, both big and little. So I would say she’s an even 50/50 switch

She’s probably ticklish all over, but I would say her worst spot is her belly, specifically her belly button

She doesn’t shut up when being tickled. She’ll scream, beg, plead, complain, or try to distract you

Either that or she’ll send her ghosts to make you depressed

She would be such a brat after being tickled tbh 😭

She would pout and scold you before eventually moving on and floating away

She only tickles things she deems cute, so if you’re not cute in her book, you’re safe

My boy Crocodile! Gosh he’s just so cool. I didn’t like him too much in the Alabasta arc, but he got a lot better in Impel Down and Marineford! I just really love the way he looks, and his sand powers :3

In my mind, Jod has gifted Ianthe a cassette player and for some reason, the only cassette that's in it is like some collectible 10th anniversary cassette tape of the album Sexy by Coco & Clair Clair. (that doesn't exist yet but it will). I feel like Coco and Clair Clair are good music for the Coronabeth and Ianthe dynamic duo, but I think that this song is for Ianthe. I think it has that evil hot mess (not like Sharpay Evans evil hot mess, more like Shego with smeared lipstick and a broken heart at the club) vibe that the Saint of Awe brings to the table.

Grimes TO ME ok IMO strikes me as someone who in 2015 would have been fancast as ianthe because she's blond, skinny, and like swinging around a long sword in her music videos like someone who just kind of thinks that swords are cool conceptually and will go well with the special effects but couldn't actually use one to defend themselves if it came down to it and that's really ianthe tridentarius-core TO ME. I imagine that deep down Ianthe hoped that becoming a lyctor meant she would get to be like an international pop star but more. Not to digress but this song is an Ianthe Tridentarius fight song.

I think snippets or like altered instrumental versions of this song also play in each trial that Harrow and Gideon work through. First of all, what is any playlist made in 2024 without a Chapell Roan song on it. Second, when I first wrote this note I imagined this as the song that plays immediately after mercy kills Jod and then like there's a full 3 minute music video where like Mercy is on lead vocals, she's like arguing with Augustine a bit then they're like dancing and then the song really abruptly cuts off right before the end when Jod sucks himself back together. Alternatively, this song plays every single time Nona sees a woman.

to me the appeal of writing charles in 2024 is that the stress comes from something external and he's forced to deal with it. not that he's having breakdowns because he doesn't believe in himself

Also, lemme talk about how the Storyteller affected the Glamrocks...

Roxanne has always been kind of an insecure bitch, but after the Storyteller shows up, she became an outright bully who verbally attacks everyone around her out of "pathological cruelty".

Glamrock Chica had a loving, pizza-obsessed personality that turned snarky and attention-seeking. Even her cupcake (I'm surprised she has one!) "developed the personality of a vicious terrier".

Monty has always been dramatic, since he's a rockstar, but after the Storyteller shows up, he becomes more sulky and violent, going into "depressive" silences in-between tantrums in his green room.

Freddy... we all know Glamrock Freddy is a total sweetheart normally. But the Storyteller turned him into a brat who tries taking toys from children, and cries like a baby when he doesn't get his way.

Bobbiedots, Part 2

Yeah, I kinda had this one spoiled for me, so I wasn't surprised when it turned out the gen2 Bobbiedots were evil. I'm pretty happy the gen1 Bobbiedots, and Abe and Sasha, got a happy ending! I really liked this one! I just wish someone would draw better official designs for the gen2 Bobbiedots... ugh... I also kinda wanna draw the gen1 girls fully repaired.

1. I take back my statement of chase being a Tsundere if anyone gives off Tsundere vibes it's our resident swan. Omg Elrond can be a prick yet runs away when he kisses you, but also is so sweet. I died at him sharing MCs bullshit punishment and secretly flipping people off. He's such a complex character. The whole talk in the woods showed alot more depth than I thought he had. It's wild going from him being a literal nightmare to such a sweetheart that even chase points it out. I think he is my fav RO. You made me do a complete switch with him. 😍

2. Poly route took me by surprise completely. Chase is honestly just a goddamn cheeky brat.

3. The demo ends after that currently? When deciding what you want to do with your free time?

4. If playing as a peacock and romancing marten's we haven't met them yet right? I didn't miss more shit???

Like I said before I utterly fell back inlove with this. You are very talented. I've always wondered why the bird theme tho?

The whole concept for this game is wild. Not just the inner workings of a cult, dealing with indoctrination as a YA and trying to navigate your own feelings and identity within that. But adding another supernatural Fantasy layer ontop of it is BRILLIANT. It gave me flashbacks of watching the anime A promises neverland for the first time. Because I got taken completely by surprise.

I haven't done any of the female ROs routes. I mightttt but I also want to check out your other games too. You are very much underrated. And thank you for listening to my very long rant i am writing at 5am. 🤣

I am glad you like Elrond :) he turned out so different from Estelle alone lol. I have the feeling that Falkenflug saw the other digging into their backgrounds and decided he wanted that too... but unlike the others he managed to bring a power shovel (I have such a great scene planned for the next update with Falkenflug!)

The bird theme is a small homage to my favourite book of all times, which was the major inspiration for my Grey Swans, but I made it dark and depressing and dystopian because yeah I love drama and Angst. (To be perfectly honest I dont even like birds that much)

Oh sure!! I was just thinking about her earlier today lmao

So I'm not gonna repeat most of the stuff I've already said about her on my art blog, anyone's who's curious can just go here and read it for themselves, but I will give a brief rundown:

Meifeng – born in about 120-121 AG, give or take a couple of years. She/her, cis, not quite sure about her sexuality yet. A waterbender who specialises in healing. She's Ming-Hua's older cousin, the daughter of Nuying's (Ming-Hua's mom) older half brother, who was often in charge of babysitting her because Nuying's mental state wasn't the most stable after her husband left. Years later, Meifeng was the one who tried to stop Ming-Hua from running away, who remained at Nuying's side as she died (the exact circumstances of which I described in my art post and have actually cried over. It's really a gutpunch and a half), and who taught Suiren the basics of waterbending. That last point makes her an incredibly emotionally conflicting character, at least to me, because she's yet another adult in Suiren and Midori's life who failed them :/

Now, onto some more fun and hopefully less depressing stuff:

I imagine Meifeng and Ming-Hua's relationship to be somewhat similar to some aspects of Nani and Lilo's from Lilo and Stitch, mostly in the sense of Ming-Hua being an uncontrollable little chaos gremlin who Meifeng cannot turn away from for one second without her running off somewhere ("UGH, you're such a pain!!" "So why don't you sell me and buy a rabbit instead?!" "At least a rabbit would behave better than you!" "Great, then you'll be happy cause it'd be smarter than me too!!" "And QUIETER!!!" "You'll like it cause it's STINKY like you!!!!". Also, the gravity scene has them vibes too). She succeeded in stopping multiple of Ming-Hua's attempts to go too far outside their village but the second Ming-Hua learned to climb trees it was all over, it's impossible to catch up to her when she's in full on Tarzan mode. Meifeng's probably the only one of Ming-Hua's relatives to have ever met Ghazan because she's bound to have seen him while going to Gaoling to drag Ming-Hua's ass back home. But to her credit she never told anyone where exactly Ming-Hua was always running off to because she knew she'd get reprimanded for it as well. Eventually if she knew Ming-Hua was going to meet up with Ghazan, she'd let her go and would just spend the day off doing her own things away from the tribe so if anyone asked, she could say Ming-Hua was with her. #bestwingwoman

As Ming-Hua grew older their relationship started changing because it became clear Ming-Hua's thirst for freedom wasn't just her being a little brat or a bout of childish rebellion. Meifeng may have aided her in many things, but she was strictly against her running away for good. Their conversations became rather focused on things like "I know auntie can be... a little much sometimes, but she's your mother, she just wants the best for you". This, of course, pissed Ming-Hua off to no end and their relationship soured as she stopped confiding in Meifeng. Perhaps Meifeng eventually told Nuying about Ghazan and Gaoling and everything else in hopes that maybe at least her own mother would be able to talk some sense into her. That backfired majorly, resulting in a huge fight between Ming-Hua and Nuying. Luckily (or not, depending on who you ask), Ghazan ran away himself not long after so Ming-Hua wasn't placed on house arrest or watched like a hawk or anything since everyone thought her main influence was gone, but she still refused to say a single word to Meifeng for YEARS right up until she caught her running away in the middle of the night at age 15

Afterwards, Meifeng spent a lot of time comforting her aunt and just in general keeping her company whenever she could. And like I said, she was the one with Nuying when she passed, but I don't really want to linger on that bc it'll make me sad again so... regarding her relationship with Suiren. Meifeng knew her when she was very little but post-RL-imprisonment didn't see her again until she was 11. I know that in UtOS specifically Kat and I make a very big point out of Suiren not wanting to learn waterbending from anybody but her mama, but in that verse she's a traumatised seven year old child who, if she can't get her mama back, just wants everyone to leave her alone. In SotRL by the time she was 11 she had already accepted that her life wasn't going to change on its own, no one was coming to save them, nobody cared enough about them to do so. If she wanted to get herself and Midori away from Haya, she had to take matters into her own hands, and that meant learning waterbending. But it was forbidden in Haya's house and her skills atrophied over the years, so she couldn't do it alone. She remembered that her mother has family in the Swamp so maybe someone there could help her. It wasn't Mama, sure, but the swamp bending style is probably similar enough to Ming-Hua's unique one that it's easier to stomach than, say, learning northern style from Ikiaq. Meifeng took up teaching her and was rather impressed at how quickly she picked everything up, and maybe even shared some of what Ming-Hua had told her about her own unique style, how she relies on her spine and shoulders and all that, to help Suiren mimic it at least somewhat. But as nice and helpful as she was, she still ultimately refused to take Suiren and Midori in, even after being told that Haya is physically abusive, and Suiren never quite let go of that hurt and though the lessons continued because she had no other choice, she became even more closed off than she already was. Meifeng regrets that to this day but what she is regret if her choices meant Suiren and Midori needlessly suffered for another 12 years when it could have been different???

So this is basically the extent of what I have for now, I know all of it is based around Meifeng's relationships with other people rather than who she is on her own, but that's because her role in the story is a supporting one so I never really gave her much thought as an individual. Hope this still manages to satisfy your curiosity, though :)
