Sir Gray, first of his name unknown age about 15 years was taken home by the Lady Bast today.

He is survived by his little sister Stripe and his two humans who gave him the best home they knew how for the last 12 years.

Gray began his life as an abandoned cat in The Candlewood apartment complex in Corpus Christi Texas. He found his new humans there and they never let him go.

He was moved to Big Spring and then to Fort Stockton.

His favorite pastimes were begging for treats and roaming around outside. His only real shortcoming was his tendency to pee on his mama when she was sleeping. Other than that he was the best Kitty anyone could ever ask for.

His human parents loved him very much and are grateful every day for this time they were gifted with him.

We are programmed and manipulated to believe that Thanksgiving is a holiday of utter abundance and gluttony. If you are barely getting by, and barely have enough, your holiday is still just as valid as anyone else's.

If you are displaced, homeless, disabled, disowned, alone, if you have no money for gifts, if you have no money for food, if you are barely getting by, you deserve the holiday season as much as anyone else does.

Don't let any post or picture on here shame you into thinking that your existence is not enough to be thankful for.

Just because your life does not match up to the images you see on this site, it doesn't mean you don't count.

You are a blessing to all those you encounter.

I saw this on Facebook last night.

The basic question asked when you were a little kid what did it mean to you to be rich? Like if you were to look at another person's family what would constitute being rich to you.

For me it was pretty easy to answer: in the late 70s and early '80s when I was a kid, rich people had cars with power locks and windows. They also had large garages with automatic garage door openers and the richest of the rich lived in two-story houses.

So I started to read through other people's replies and these were some of the things that I saw.

If you were a rich kid, your family had:

✅hot water

✅Could afford to eat meat

✅ a washer/dryer

✅Got to go out to eat. ..ever

✅ a bathtub

✅ a bike

✅ clothes that weren't homemade

✅ a microwave

✅ central air

✅ a car with AC

I came away feeling so humbled. I've always thought that I grew up poor. I always considered my upbringing to be very much lower class, at least compared to everyone else I do.

But growing up we had central air which we got when I was probably 8 or 9 years old, we had hot water and a bathtub, we ate meat every night, we always had a washer and dryer, and when I was about eight we got a microwave. I had a bike when I was 10, and I never once wore had me down or homemade clothes unless I was playing dress up.

The 2023 Hater's Guide to the West Region

This blog is not in any way affiliated with the NCAA, its entities, subsidiaries, or member institutions. This is a humor site and should be treated as such. We’re all on our way out – act accordingly.

1. Kansas (28-6). When Texas beat Kansas to end the Big 12 (8?) regular season, the intrepid videographer shooting the game happened to catch a KU coed wearing a t-shirt which read “I (heart) Dick.” A-fucking-mazing. Look, I don’t have to tell you KU fans need this one seed, need the wins, need a title more than anything to justify their continued existence. They live in Kansas for fuck’s sake – Interstate 70 ends in Lawrence and you are stuck wandering the plains like Denzel Washington in Book of Eli until you reach Colorado, and the interstate magically appears again. There is NOTHING to do here other than watch basketball, and that says a lot, because I live in Iowa!

2. UCLA (29-5). This is a Bruin, right? With that face, I am 100% sure his name is “Crick Monin.”

3. Gonzaga (28-5). There is a new Constitutional amendment which clearly states you are no longer allowed to refer to Gonzaga as a Cinderella school. It’s been twenty five years - I think the slipper finally broke. They’ve now been in every final AP poll since the 2008-09 season, and have appeared in every weekly AP poll since 2016-17, a streak of 115 consecutive weeks. I will never stop laughing when eighth year senior Drew Timme appears on my TV screen. All I see is TIMMY from South Park. Fuck John Stockton.

4. UConn (25-8). Go back to the AAC! Biggest group of crybabies in the country and it isn’t even close. When their women’s team had an injury plagued season (lost five games including back-to-back games for the first time in 30 years), Geno Auriemma vented to the media and to his team, telling them they had three days before the conference tournament to fix things. Then he got in his car and drove home to Manchester, wishing he could continue westward. “The way I felt was I want to wake up in California in three days,” he said. “I just want to keep driving, I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to come to practice.” Jesus man, just fucking quit already and move away from that awful place. Twitter account CrimsonCast put it best: UConn continues to fail to shake the perception that they are simply an analytics darling. Like an east coast version of the Mountain West.

5. Saint Mary’s (26-7). Every bracket, no matter the site, always lists this school as “Saint Mary’s (CA).” Why? No one is confusing this school for the archaeological dig site posing as a university in Maryland, or the all-women’s college in north-central Indiana where many of the enrolled students play for nearby Leprechaun U, also known as Notre Dame. No, this is the school – in California – that gets exclusive coverage on ESPN Australia/New Zealand. Sixty percent of the student body is involved in organized athletics here, so it’s a good chance you’ll be handed a scholarship and some sort of ball upon move-in. It’s either that or forced labor washing jockstraps.

6. TCU (21-12). Their coach gives out a pair of “charge socks” when a Horned Frog player takes a charge. There’s a big bucket of these colorful dress socks in the TCU locker room. Charge socks? You have to be kidding me. You are in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, you can’t find a bag of blow or an extra couple of c-notes for your athletes? (Producer cuts in…garbled static…). Pardon me, I’ve just been informed that the “C” in TCU stands for “Christian.” There is no cocaine on campus. But NIL is legal now, surely you can find something other than a pair of sweaty dress socks to reward your unpaid employees. Perhaps a sad handjob from a coed who has already put on the freshman 15+15+15?

7. Northwestern (21-11). Congratulations, you finished top three in the Big Ten for the first time since 1960. You won your last conference championship 90 (!) years ago. You have made one (1) NCAA tournament and had to be retroactively selected as something called the Helms National Champion. Your most successful head coach played for Phog Allen at Kansas – in 1917! Northwestern basketball is the definition of futility. They are the Chicago Cubs of the NCAA; fitting for a program that markets itself as “Chicago’s Big Ten team” (insert jerking off hand motion here). Even if Northwestern won 25 games a season for the next 25 years, they would still have a losing record.

8. Arkansas (20-13). It is against state law to mispronounce “Arkansas'' while in the state, yet their residents  pronounce jalapeno “Holla-PEE-no.” Gun to my head, I wouldn’t be able to look at Sarah Huckabee Sanders naked, playing with a hula hoop, for more than a second.

9. Illinois (20-12). Brad Underwood is a bargain-bin Gene Keady who is very upset about “booty ball.” Every press conference he attends ends with him making a wet fart sound into the microphone.

10. Boise State (24-9). No one gives a shit about this team unless tater tots rise to $6 a bag – then it’s time to storm the blue court. I know exactly one person from Idaho and their personality matches that of the official state produce. This person is incapable of being corrected. They are always right. You are always wrong. If you say the sky is blue, their response will no doubt begin with “well, actually…” Boise is also not a state, you arrogant fuckhead.

11. Arizona State (20-12) or Nevada (23-9). Over 60% of the student body at ASU has some form of herpes. Unless you are a model, they throw you in an engineering building for four years. If you hate Duke just like the rest of America, you generally hate Christian Laettner and Grant Hill. But there’s one player from those early-90s teams everyone forgot: Bobby Hurley. As I’ve aged, my hatred for Hurley has waned, but I’ll always wish maximum pain for whatever team he coaches.

With the growth of legalized sports gambling across the United States, the University of Nevada has introduced several new classes for the 2023-24 school year: Kneecap Relocation, Intermediate Hammer Smashing Techniques, and Advanced Vig Calculation. Another new course addition as of Thursday morning: Getting Your Shit Pushed In By A Sun Devil Pitchfork. Too soon? Probably.

12. VCU (27-7). VCU stands for Very Completely Underwhelming. This isn’t a college, it’s an industrial laundry that has tricked 28,000 students into paying the institution to “work.” If you want a perfect example of the bloat in higher education administration, consider there are over 11,000 non-academic staff at VCU. Never trust a doctor from this school; they only practiced on centaurs.  

13. Iona (27-7). Someone is going to give Rick Pitino the best 14 seconds of his life to coach for them. 

14. Grand Canyon (24-11). By employing buzzer-beating Valpo alum Bryce Drew, this pretend university has already accomplished more in the NCAA Tournament than Mount Rushmore State, Hoover Dam U, Smokey Mountains College and SUNY-Niagara Falls.

15. UNC Asheville (27-7). Let’s have a quick check-in on how this college is doing. Student enrollment and retention are plunging at UNC-Asheville and top leadership is departing at the highest rate in the entire UNC system. While overall student enrollment in the UNC system has increased 7% since 2015, UNC-Asheville fell by a stunning 25%, the largest drop among the 16 public universities in the system. Of the incoming students UNC-A is able to attract, a high number of them leave before graduation. Retention of students, measured as those returning for a second year of school, is now just 68.6%, the lowest in ten years. Jesus, even Trump University would laugh at these numbers. 

16. Howard (22-12). Howard students recently had to protest living conditions in on-campus dorms – mold, mildew, and rats are apparently very commonplace in multiple residences. It is 2023; the only sensible reason these alarming conditions should be issues on your campus is when you have outsourced every part of the student life experience to a call center in the middle of the Himalayas.

During that 6 month time Ez goes everyday or as much as he can, reads to her from her favorite book, etc. After 6 months she finally wakes up, but has retrograde amnesia & doesn't know who Ez is or their life together. So he is determined to help her get her memory back and goes about wooing her again.

“Better stay out of trouble while I’m gone, Mrs. Reyes,” there was a smirk on his face as he pulled her in for a kiss.

She laughed as his lips met hers. She pulled back, gently running her fingers down the sides of his face, “Never gets old for you, huh?”

He chuckled and shook his head, “I still can’t believe you married me.”

She smiled, “Maybe in another two years it’ll sink in.”

“Doubt it,” he laughed and shook his head, “But promise me you’ll stay safe while I’m gone?”

She rolled her eyes with a smile, “Don’t I always? You’ll only be gone for a few days, EZ. I’ll be right here waiting for you when you get back. Promise,” she locked her pinky with his.

He nodded, smiling, “Alright. If anything goes wrong while I’m gone call—”

“Call Creeper or Chucky,” she nodded, trying to suppress a smile, “I know. You told me like ten times this week alone,” she laughed.

“Let’s go, Loverboy!” Angel shouted from his bike.

EZ laughed as he waved off his brother and returned his attention to the woman in front of him, “That’s my cue I guess,” he chuckled, “I’ll let you know when we get to Stockton, okay?” he kissed her on the forehead, “I love you, Aanya.”

She smiled and kissed him on the lips, “I love you too, Ezekiel. Keep those boys out of trouble,” she laughed as she nudged him in the direction of the men who were waiting for him to wrap up his goodbye.

He laughed as he walked away, “No promises, baby.”

She stood and watched until all of the bikes had disappeared from sight. With a deep breath she walked back to the clubhouse to grab her purse so she could head home. EZ leaving for runs with the club never got any easier for her to handle. She missed him, sure, but her real concern was his safety. Not that she could protect him all the time when he was home, but it felt like she was capable of doing a little bit more.

The clubhouse was empty and it almost felt eerie. There were always a few people hanging out, but when pretty much all of the club was off on a run, there wasn’t much of a reason for people to stick around. She wandered behind the bar to grab her things and gently shut the door behind her as she walked out. Before leaving, she decided to stop into the office and see if there was anything that Chucky needed since he was pretty much going to be holding down the fort until the guys got back.

He looked up and smiled when he saw who had walked in, “Mrs. Aanya Reyes, what can I do for you?”

She smiled, “I was actually here to ask you that. I know it’s just you and Creeper for the next couple of days—is there anything that I can do to help? I can stop by in the mornings before I head to work or—”

He shook his head, “You don’t need to worry about anything. This place is a well-oiled machine and I am the most reliable cog.”

She couldn’t contain the laugh that escaped her. She nodded, “I trust you, Chucky. If you need anything just give me a call, okay?”

He nodded, “I accept that.”

She knocked lightly on the counter, “Have a good day,” she smiled as she turned and left the office.

She had taken a half-day, knowing that she could leave the rest of her staff to handle the shop for the afternoon. Also, she had told them that if anything started to go terribly wrong, to just give her a call and she would come back right away. However, now that she had the rest of the afternoon to herself and EZ was on his way with the club, she didn’t have the urge to do much of anything besides go back. She sat in her car for a few moments, weighing out her options. With a heavy sigh, she turned the key in the ignition and headed back towards work.

One girl heard the chime on the door and materialized to greet whoever was walking in. Her expression quickly shifted to confusion when she came face to face with Aanya. “I thought you weren’t coming back today?”

She laughed as she walked through the store, “Having that much fun without me, Laura?”

The young woman chuckled, “No, no. Not that. Just didn’t expect to see you.”

Aanya shrugged as she took a seat on the stool that was behind the register, “Once EZ left I realized I had nothing really to do with the rest of my day,” she chuckled and shook her head, “So I figured I’d come back and keep you guys out of trouble. Been quiet today?”

Laura nodded, “Yea. It’s a Tuesday, though.”

Aanya smiled, “Means we both have time to do some reading while we wait for people.”

Managing a bookstore seemed like something straight out of a dream for Aanya. Everything sort of fell in to place and she was happy to take on more responsibility and take care of the day-to-day things. Her boss, the owner, took care of the big picture stuff, and she wasn’t around all that often anyway. So for the most part Aanya ran the show with her small staff of people and it was nice. They were coworkers, and she was their supervisor, but the whole group of them were friends. She was a few years older than the rest of her staff but she enjoyed that aspect of it. She felt like she could be a mentor with more than just work and book suggestions. She wouldn’t have traded it for the world.

Plus, on top of all the other benefits, the bookstore is where she had met EZ in the first place almost four years ago. It felt like just yesterday she had seen him scanning over all the titles in the store, looking for something new and exciting to read. What started off with a simple book suggestion turned into a relationship and a marriage. She hadn’t seen it coming but if anyone asked EZ he knew from the second he saw her that he was going to marry her one day. He just thought that it would take a lot longer to convince her to give him the time of day.

“How is EZ, anyway?” Laura asked as she chose a book off the shelf so she could read the back cover, “Haven’t seen him here in a while.”

Aanya smiled, “He’s good. Just been busy with work.”

“How’s his brother?” she looked over at her boss to try and gauge her reaction.

She laughed and shook her head, “He’s still a troublemaker, Laura.”

“Still hot though?”

She tilted her head back as she laughed, “Yes.”

Laura hummed in approval, “Mm. Nice.”

Aanya couldn’t help but to shake her head as she opened her book to the page she had marked, “I’ll be sure to mention that they should both stop by when they get back from their trip.”

She was closing up the shop at the end of the day, all of her staff had gone home long before then. She was getting ready to lock the doors when her phone buzzed in her pocket. She smiled when she saw EZ’s name and photo lighting up the screen.

“Hey, handsome,” she smiled as she pinched the phone between her ear and her shoulder.

“I miss you already, querida,” there was light laughter to his voice.

“You’ll be home in no time. You guys make it to Stockton alright?”

“Yea, no bumps. No run-ins with the law.”

She laughed, “Glad to hear it.”

“What’re you up to?”

She took a deep breath as she walked down the street to her car, “Just leaving to go home.”

“It’s late.”

She chuckled, “I’m aware. I got wrapped up in a book. I was so close to finishing it…so I did,” she couldn’t stop laughing, “Totally worth going home late for.”

“A book I’ll get to read?”

“Hmmm…maybe,” she smiled.

EZ yawned, and she could head the exhaustion in his voice, “Alright, I just wanted to call and let you know that we made it here safe. I’m beat, though, so I’m gonna head to bed. Text me when you get home so I know you’re safe?”

“I always do.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too, EZ.”

She texted EZ as soon as she parked her car in the driveway. She knew that she wasn’t going to get an answer but they each agreed to send those messages anyway. She walked inside and let out a deep sigh, loving that she was home, but also hating how empty the house felt when she was the only one there. It felt so much more like a home when EZ was there with her. She took a quick shower and collapsed into bed, immediately falling asleep.

The next day flew by. The shop was busy and they had new shipments of books coming in. Those were Aanya’s favorite days. While unpacking everything became a little tedious after a while, she liked getting a first look at everything that was going to be available. She usually set aside random copies of things that the should she would enjoy, occasionally seeing something that stuck out for EZ or his family.

There was a knock on the stockroom door and Laura poked her head in, “Someone’s here for you, boss.”

She looked up from the back cover that she had been reading, “Oh?”

“Well he didn’t say he was here for you. But he’s got a kutte on so I just made the assumption.”

Aanya laughed, nodding, “Alright. Thank you. I’ll be out in a second.”

She set down her book, shutting the open box that she had been leafing through. She wandered out into the main expanse of the store, and sure enough Creeper was lingering in the aisle filled with leather-bound blank journals. She walked over and gently rested her hand on his arm to get attention.

“Hey, everything alright?” she asked.

He turned to her with a smile and nodded, “Yea. Just stopped in to check on you and see if you needed anything.”

She shook her head with a smile, “I think I’m all set. Thank you, though. You really didn’t have to do that,” she paused, “They still on track to get back tomorrow night?”

He nodded, “As far as I know. I’ll let you know if anything changes.”

“Thank you, I appreciate it,” she reached and grabbed one of the journals off the bottom shelf, “This is one of my personal favorites.”

He turned it over in his hands a couple times, skimming through the blank pages with a small smile on his face. He looked back up at her and nodded, “I’ll take it.”

She rang him out and sent him on his way. She appreciated the fact that whenever EZ was going to be gone for more than a day or so, he would have someone check in on her. At first it bothered her a little, because she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. But the longer that she stayed with him, she more she realized it was just his way of trying to be there for her when he couldn’t be there physically.

As the last few customers of the day were leaving the store, Laura came over to get her boss’s attention. “Hey, Aanya?”

She looked up from the register, “Yea?”

“We were thinking of going out for a few drinks tonight, wanna come?”

She smiled and shook her head slightly, “I appreciate the offer, but I think I’m just going to head home,” she held up a couple books that were stacked behind her, “I’m going to try and get a jump-start on these.”

Laura laughed, “Do you read everything that comes into this shop?”

“Almost,” she smiled, “Have a good time tonight, though. I’ll see you Friday?”

She nodded, “First thing! Have a good night.”

“You too! Have an extra glass of wine for me,” she laughed.

Aanya managed to leave the shop at a reasonable hour, not letting herself get sucked into a new book before leaving for the day. She took one look back at the silent shop, ready for all the new people who would wander through the next day. She smiled as she nodded to herself before stepping out and locking the door.

She texted EZ as she walked to her car, “Hope everything is going well. I’ll be home in about twenty if you have time to call. If not, no worries. Stay safe. I love you!”

The streets felt emptier than usual as she drove home. She didn’t mind it, though. She turned her radio up a little extra loud, reveling in the fact that her phone seemed to be choosing all the right songs for her relatively short trip home. The problem with living in such a small town, that usually had so little traffic, was that everyone gets a little extra comfortable. Accidents hardly ever happen on the roads there, so your guard drops a little bit.

Between the radio, her own singing, and drumming on the steering wheel as she drove, there was no chance that she would’ve heard the engine of the car that was speeding through the intersection and blowing a red light. By the time she took note of the headlights, it was far too late. In a matter of moments, the silent streets were filled with the sound of crunching metal and shattering glass, followed by the sound of an incessant car horn.

Within minutes, emergency responders were on the scene. The quiet streets of Santo Padre were filled with flashing lights and sirens. The entire surrounding neighborhood woke up, people peeking out of windows and coming out onto the sidewalks to try and get a better look at what was going on. When NOT to Use SEO

A large part of our business is conducting professional Search Engine Optimization services for small and medium-sized businesses. So you might be surprised to learn that we talk ourselves out of more SEO projects than not. Or, more accurately, we talk our clients out of doing SEO.

Many people see, hear and read about various SEO success stories from friends, colleagues and business associates and think, "Hey, sounds great. How can I use that for MY business?"

The problem with SEO, probably more than any other Internet marketing tactic, is that it's often the wrong tool for the job. No matter how bad you WANT it to be the answer to your problems and help you increase sales it's just not not going to cut it.

sSo to help you evaluate whether SEO can be part of your well-rounded Internet marketing strategy, here's 5 reasons why SEO will NOT help you"

1. You Have a Made Up Product: The whole foundation of SEO is to position your webpages to be the answer to the question regarding relevant searches. If the product or service you offer is something so unique or made up, you can't leverage SEO for the simple reason that nobody knows to search for it. Case in point was a company that came to us to implement an SEO program for "Dog Wine." The problem is two-fold: Wine is actually bad for your dog so nobody would be looking for those keywords together unless maybe it was for "Dog wine poisoning." Secondly, the product wasn't actually wine at all but a type of gravy commonly sold to spruce up kibble. So while the product was real and perfectly OK to feed your dog, the association between the made up product category (dog wine) and the actual product (a kibble additive commonly referred to as "dog gravy") was beyond the scope of SEO. A better marketing solution that we suggested was a trade PR campaign combined with blogger reviews since the product needed explaining in order to "get it."

2. Low Search Volume: The biggest issue we find is that the keyword phrases associated with the company's products and services are in low demand. Nobody wants to hear that what they're selling is not in demand or the greatest thing since sliced bread. SEO exposes weaknesses in branding and product positioning. Sometimes SEO is considered a panacea for a weak product offering or non-existing branding campaign. SEO can't perform magic, and certainly can not create demand where little or none exists. SEO works best when you have a product or service with well-articulated BENEFITS to the person doing the search, since most searches start with "How do I... " or "How to... " Be the answer to that question assuming it's even being asked. Our keyword research will expose those weaknesses right away.

3. No Supporting Efforts: Search Engine Optimization has become increasingly complex in that one-time efforts, while still important, aren't enough to sustain any short term success. And with the rising importance of social media's impact on SEO, businesses will need to invest in ongoing social media efforts to boost their baseline SEO results since all the major search engines have gone on record that social media signals going in and out of a website are a validation of that site's authorityon a particular subject (and set of keywords). So to invest in SEO is really a baseline step that needs to be reinforced with social media marketing and content marketing and blogging on an ongoing basis.

4. Website Design is Not Set Up For SEO: While a website's layout can be changed, this can often lead to additional costs in order to change the layout of the website to make it SEO ready. For instance, the number one problem is when all products and services are listed on a single page. In order to perform proper SEO, each product or service must have it's own page since proper onsite SEO requires unique META tags, Title tags, keywords, etc. Another hurdle is when clients have Flash-heavy websites or resist placing actual text and words on the site preferring mostly pictures. SEO is about content, mainly text.

5. Need Results Immediately: And as you probably suspect, SEO can take time to take effect. In fact, the very nature of GOOD SEO practices is to try and mimic organic linking and social media activity in as natural means as possible. That means slowly, and gradually. And even then, it can take the search engines weeks and even months to index your site and move it up in the rankings - if at all! So if you have a special event or you're planning a product roll out or other timely event, SEO isn't going to be your ticket to the top.

We take the chip to Doctor Amara, who tells me I need to find the Railroad by following the Freedom Trail… I have only the most basic understanding of the beginnings of the American Civil War (thank you Assassins Creed 3) but I do remember enough about National Treasure to know that I will need to head to the Old North Church at some point so that’s where I start my search… At the end of the Freedom Train as it turns out. Nick and I (I am so glad I didn’t bring Danse with me) clear out the ghouls and head into the crypts and then I hit the puzzle lock… I think I’ve missed some clue as to how to open the lock so for the first time I resort to google and the Fallout 4 wiki… Oh you need to spell out a word not just highlight one of the words! Ok unlock the hidden passage and we meet the Railroad. We give the chip to Tinker Tom and he cracks the code. I then take the code back to Virgil (Nick try’s to pick a fight with the Deathclaw outside his cave but it runs away?!?), Virgil gives me the plans for the matter transporter and reiterates his request for the serum. I decide that the Brotherhood will have the materials and the most to gain from taking out the Institute so I head there to get them to build it. I’ve not even taken back the Castle for the Minutemen yet and my dealings with the Railroad have been so minimal it just seems like the logical choice. Before I demand they build it for me though I do them a solid and I clear out Fort Strong of Super Mutants for them picking up a magazine and a few mini nukes for myself.

Anyway having done this I return to the Prydwen and start the building process. It tells me to talk to someone at the Brotherhood but instead I head back to Sanctuary. It’s time I dropped off the critical path again for a bit and clean up some of the other quests I’ve picked up. Danse and I head to Back Street Apparel to kill the raiders for the settlers of Oberland Station, I find Old Man Stockton at Bunker Hill to finish off the Human Error quest line and from there we head set out for the Saugus Ironworks to get the parts Chao needs to repair the Yangtze. On the way there I run into a caravan being attacked by a load of robots I do not recognize! Sadly we aren’t able to save the humans but we do save a custom Assaultron who tasks me with finding the Machinist. That’s a quest for another day as I want to finish ones I have rather than start new ones. I trek towards the Ironworks and we pick up a distress beacon for a missing Brotherhood patrol so of course I oblige Danse and we find the remains of a Brotherhood recon team who have been massacred. That points me towards a nearby National Guard facility but no, Saugus Ironworks is my destination of choice right now.

We get there and that place is massive, it’s imposing even from a distance. As we draw close I spot movement on the rooftop and I snipe a few of this new faction, The Forged. Danse and I head in close and we come under heavy fire and by fire I do mean fire. Most of the Forged we run into at first are armed with flamers! Danse and I battle our way towards the entrance and then through the Ironworks itself. After getting myself a little lost we find the entrance to the blast furnace and come to the rescue of a Jake Finch. We kill the leader of the Forged, Slag, and loot the power armour he was carrying, pick up a sweet sword and lastly the explosives bobble head. We agree to meet Jake back at his dad’s farm and head straight there. Jake’s dad seems cool and even lets me keep the Shishkebab as a reward. 

Knowing that I’m headed back to the Yangtze and not knowing how Danse will react I tell him to head to the Airport and wait for me there. I fast travel back to the Yangtze and give the cooling rods to Chao. That’s when I pause it for the night. I’ll deal with his crew and get the sub powered up another night.
