I wanted to get other phys disabled people’s input if that’s okay

I’m just wondering at what point is pain and weakness with mobility (and arm movement) normal vs abnormal? Like do ablebodied people really not get any pain during things like bending down/getting up, going up and down stairs, walking, lifting and using arms.. unless they’re already injured? Can “because you haven’t been exercising and sit all day”or “it’s bc you’re autistic” genuinely be the cause for pain like that? if ablebodied people don’t exercise often can they feel pain and trouble with mobility?

Then that leads me to think .. well how much exercise do u even need because I technically do physical activity multiple times a week for months until a certain pointr every year… yet I still have these symptoms and some muscle atrophy. the pain also seems to be worsening over time

I did one genetic swab test for things like neuromuscular disorders and it was negative so now I’m like well if the test results are negative what now….I match symptoms of certain neuromuscular disorders so well but the test was negative and now I’m like so confused I feel kinda fake? Do u have a similar experience?

the normal amount of pain for an able bodied person, especially with regular mobility, is 0 pain. none at all.

you joints can get weak and you can get sore after a bit of physical labour like walking up a flight of stars or lifting a bunch of boxes if you dont exercise and maintain your body's health (even just going for regular walks is enough sometimes) but thats exhaustion after strenuous activity

physically disabled people usually feel that constantly, have even less strength and energy to spend on that stuff than an able-bodied person does.

disabled people continue to have their pain and issues no matter how much exercise and care for their body they do, its good to keep it up but an able bodied person wouldnt continue to feel that. for an able bodied person thats temporary, for us, its chronic.

my body is deteriorating. i get regular walks in to help my joints, i do stretches to help with my muscles and my back, but its only to help slow down whats happening with me and to keep me as mobile as possible for as long as possible as my spine continues to twist and bend over the years. an able bodied person wouldnt feel pain just standing up and sitting down and moving their limbs let alone need a physical routine like i do.

i feel you though, a lot of times my imposter syndrome hits hard and i feel like im faking. but we're not. no mater what condition or label we are told we do/do not have our experience with our bodies is still there, still real, still valid.

no one knows our bodies like we do.

if you think theres a possibility there and you can do it, i'd push to get tested again and/or look for other possibilities on what it could be, there might be other things your symptoms overlap with (which i find happens a lot, thats actually part of how i found out i was anemic instead of diabetic) though you dont have to, just if you want to. you dont have to follow any of my ramblings or anything, its just always good to check again and look into other things just in case y'know? /lh

So my Dr is sending me to gi even though I'm not having anything that is obviously a gi problem and what is is probably from rectal suppositories for chronic pain that's likely ehlers danlos, basically I'm asking you if what I'm describing matches endo, if you aren't comfortable telling me just ignore this. Ever since I've gotten my period it's been horrible for most of them at least on day one my vision blacks out, Aleve, Advil and Tylenol do nothing, the only thing that has helped is progesterone bc and 100mg of Diclofenac which is no longer manufactured so I'm just using multiple pills. I have the horrible abdominal pain but also vulva pain, like if I try to pee I started crying and as someone with chronic pain you know that's really bad. My neck feels swollen and it sometimes hurts to breathe. It's been in my record for 5 years that I've been saying that something is wrong and the only thing done has been done are iron tests (above average) and hormones (fine). The reason I'm being sent to gi now is that twice in the last 8 months because because my mom has thought that I have appendicitis because of constant lower right side abdominal pain getting a lot worse, I can feel and kinda see an inch bump but nothing show up on cts or ultrasounds, I'm always bloated and stuff. Basically I want to know if know is the time to start getting mean and push to get tested for endometriosis.

I won't diagnose you with endo because im no doctor but I can say that I also went to the GI doctor for abdominal pain (and chronic constipation which oddly or not got a little better after my surgery for the endo lesions) did the whole colonoscopy and endoscopy which all came back fine besides some hemorrhoids.

I have also talked to others with endo who have gone to GI doctors, some of who have been misdiagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. I think it'd be a good idea to go just because some people with endo can have lesions in their bowels (tho it probably won't be) and I also think its a good idea just to check that the abdominal pain is only caused by the possible endo (it will also be easier to convince a gyno to do a surgery if you've already seen someone else for the pain).

Some people do black out on their periods with endo. Whether its from the pain or blood loss, i can't say. Personally the worst I've done is fall asleep on the bathroom floor. Also, I wonder if they've checked your iron levels while you've been on your period because some people bleed a lot and experience low levels on their periods

Most people with endo experience some sort of lessening with progesterone BC pills. I can't say much about that because im one of those that experiences the opposite (which isn't too common for people with endo). I take max relief midol or pamprin for pain meds and all it does is take an edge off.

Endo can also cause problems with urinating tho I know little about that because the only problem I have there is that I go too much on my period. This might be because of how tense I hope my abdominal muscles and I suppose the contracting in your bladder could be pulling on some lesions. It might be good to get checked out by a urologist too

I did used to get knife like pains into my vagina tho so maybe thats similar to your vulva pain? I dont associate that with urinating tho.

I dont know anything about the neck pain. I do sometimes get pain in the neck but I dont associate that with endo but instead with being stressed/holding too much tension in your body

I'm not sure what the bump could be but that sounds scary. Bloating is really really really common with endo. Look up endo belly. I have it to some extent and it drives me crazy whenever it happens.

Also fun fact a lot of endo suffers have at one point in time wondered if their pain is appendicitis. I have been to the ER for that reason a lot. Another fun fact is that appendicitis can actually be less painful than the pain people can get with endometriosis. Haven't had appendicitis personally but I find it interesting

Endo is hard to diagnose without surgery as you've probably realized since all your imaging keeps coming back normal and some of your symptoms could definitely be because of it. You definitely have to make the doctor believe you are serious about wanting to pursue the path of a diagnostic surgery because it isn't always easy to get them to do it.

If you have any more questions or anything, you can totally ask. I'm more than willing to talk and have very little shame when it comes to my or other's symptoms

nervous this is tmi an stuff but im. slowly realizing how depressed i am lately and how its all literally piled up leading up to this moment

i dont really. have any friends now that i think about it. i have some people i genuinely consider friends but i get nervous they dont think the same of me. i get nervous everybody is going to stop interacting with me entirely all of a sudden

i knew i never really got a childhood because it majorly consists of physical pain and neglect to the point i can barely remember any of it and if i do remember it its faint hints of traumatic events or my parents not even BEING there. and i could only uncover those memories about a few months ago in may, when i was trying so hard to doubt ever being part of an osdd system. even then i still refer to it as my past cause i at least hold the memories of it all

but i finally realized i never got to. be a teenager. i knew i was groomed in my preteens and thought that was it, i got to be a teen after i escaped right? no! cause i got repeatedly groomed afteelr that, but i at least escaped that too and it only happened for half a year thats it, still time to be a teen, right?

NO! because my trauma holder came to the realization that my ex also groomed me! so i feel so STUPID that i could let that keep happening to me! ive. never had a chance to be a kid at any stage in my life

i genuinely crave real forms of love because i do genuinely know ive healed, i could only uncover these memories and realizations and easily come to terms with them because ive healed so much. so i crave romantic love, i use dating apps to try and put myself out there. the only people that try to match with me are straight cis men that sexualize me being a lesbian or fake bot accounts. so it takes a big hit to my self worth, thinking im not interesting enough for anyone and just not. desirable in any way, i dont look good in any way and everybody knows it. and it hurts so much because i just want to be loved

and i used to make myself happy by streaming, but it feels like everything fell apart when i got really sick a bit ago. i stopped streaming because it felt useless if i can barely gain an audience, it feels like i lost a real friend because it feels like they avoid my entire existence and i dont know what i did wrong if i did anything, i feel like others dont really like my art because nobody really commissions me anymore, all stemming from when i was basically bedridden while i was sick

then on top of ALL of that and probably the most tmi but the one that fucks with me a lot is i finally figured out i have pcos and a lot of things make senss now, but i know one symptom is infertility and thats the one that genuinely eats away at me now. because my gender and all is fucky and everything, but i know i want. a family in my future. whoever i settle down with, i know i want a family with my partner(s). sure its 'still possible! but its much harder' or 'oh but its reversible! but you have to do so much with a doctor to be normal'

i can handle being the 'other' from a majority. i take pride in being the 'other' from a majority. but this is the one time where being the 'other' from 'normal' makes me feel sick to my stomach. i just. i want to be a mom some day. i want to be a good mom, a better mom than i had. but it fucking eats away at me that id have to try so much harder to even get there and i cant handle it

i want to make personal art to vent. i want to process these emotions with art to get a grip, but im nervous it would be frowned upon to make that personal of art if i could just shut up and keep making fanart instead

Brock Lesnar (c) vs Drew McIntyre: WWE Championship Match

I really really feel for Drew here, probably the most out of anyone on the show with the lack of an audience as well as the lack of crowds being able to watch in Scotland in bars at the Hooked On Wrestling events, as they would have been SUPERB for both atmosphere and something they would show constantly on tv after the win.

But no, sadly instead of holding this off till later in the year we still have to proceed and deal with it, gutted.

I feel this match could go 25 minutes long and be one of Brock’s longest matches for awhile, in them asking Brock to make Drew look THE STAR in beating him and beating him well. Plus, they cant have both this AND the Goldberg match go less than 5 minutes.....can they?

Wish they would have gone OTT with this and had it filmed at Lesnar’s ranch and be falls count anywhere, Drew turns up saying nothing will stop him from winning the title so he’s there to claim his prize on Brock’s turf. Then gone made fighting around the farm, oh well there’s other matches on this show that will seemingly be booked to shit.

Drew wins, they need to make sure he then moves into feuds with big names and wins clean each time to really invest it all into Drew and see what happens - MCINTYRE

Goldberg (c) vs Braun Strowman: WWE Universal Championship Match

What is there to be said here, Roman had to drop out because they stupidly had him around sick people with his health past, they decide to replace him with Braun who last month lost his title to Sami Zayn, not to mention they didnt even announce it till Smackdown last night without even mentioning Reigns by name after having HHH announce earlier in the week it would be done in an interesting way.............

This should go short with ideally Braun going over, have Bill take the lead hitting all his offense, big spear then as he goes to lift him for the Jackhammer he cant lift him and Strowman bursts out of it hits his finish and pins him clean while in monster mode.

Braun starts the big push from nowhere while at the same time this leaves it open for Goldberg to potentially come back for a rematch, as he didnt have anytime to prepare for Strowman and his game-plan for the bout. Not that I want Bill always around the title scene when he turns up but if they can get Braun going over him clean twice it really helps out a current full time guy under contract WHAT A CLEVER IDEA THAT WOULD BE!!! lol - STROWMAN

The Undertaker vs AJ Styles

I really have no desire to see Taker in a big singles match at Wrestlemania or any other big show ever again, let alone it being in a match with AJ who could have an awesome match with most others on the card. This match should really have turned into the OC vs Taker/Aleister Black if they HAD to go with these guys together, the rub that would have given Black would have been MASSIVE!! Imagine the innovative entrance they could have come up with for both guys together, truly letting Taker pass his aura across to someone new....just goosebumps thinking of how they would look....but nope.

Instead we end up with a feud built around shoot promos about Takers wife doing AJ’s Styles Clash finisher.....

The worst part is that I see Taker going over, not sure if it was confirmed but it was mentioned he’d have 2 others with him who most likely will turn the tide of the match, dont get your hopes up for Black here instead, im guessing its Kane and Big Show....seriously....please be wrong - UNDERTAKER

John Cena vs The Fiend Bray Wyatt

I really wish if they are going to bring back guys who haven't been on the road full time then PLEASE bring them back with a solid storyline that makes sense and that’s been built up for awhile to make sense.....not this. Truthfully they need to build these matches with the sole purpose of having the other guys who could/should have been the spot to be able to turn around and say, ‘you know what, this makes alot of sense and will be great so I cant hold it against them and moan’. Honestly that’s all it needs.

And secondly they really are lucky there wont be a live audience there for the match, the cheers the Fiend would have received over Cena would have drove them wild in editing after trying to build Bray as the crazy heel.

After dropping the title Bray NEEDS the big win here to keep his aura something they can use well, the more they have him lose the quicker that appeal will drop, and for me with Wyatt that doesn't mean he can take loses as long as he isnt pinned like others can ANY loss hurts someone who can teleport (?!?!) - WYATT

Edge vs Randy Orton: Last Man Standing

Edge is the guy in second place behind Drew for me feeling gutted there wont be an audience around for this, imagine coming back after years away and the thought you could never wrestle again through fear of dying then finding you CAN wrestle again.........only to be risking it all in an empty building.....FUCKS SAKE!

This should be great and given the time to have the emotional side of it pour out strong, we should be getting Edge taking a beating to the point that Beth will come out to support him then have her feelings develop to the point she will want him to stay down and stop the pain. Yeah this will be great - EDGE

Becky Lynch (c) vs Shayna Baszler: Raw Women’s Championship Match

I dont think the result should be in question here, Shayna HAS to win and go on a dominant run with the belt, ideally booking Becky to come back in contention for SummerSlam to rematch.......sadly everything's in the air with the world.

For me, and remember those words, Becky’s reign has been abit of a meh fest in-ring, apart from the Sasha bouts, and the extra focus on her has highlighted her ring work which really isnt the strongest part of her game (Not saying she’s terrible at all, but could she please drop the awkward leg drop from the ropes lol). At the same time alot of that is down to how she’s booked as management seem to go on a few months run of wanting the women to be the main focus, then quickly changing their mind and dropping it back massively. Also, the lack of depth with the women’s division's is a problem with them being split over the shows, same with the men to a degree and is the reason we see feuds get dragged and dragged for months, with less women it means we hardly get anything that feels fresh which needs to be key - BASZLER

Lacey Evans vs Sasha Banks vs Bayley (c) vs Tamina vs Naomi - Smackdown Women’s Championship Fatal 5 Way Match

What a mess this is, I have no desire to see Banks/Bayley again for at least another 5 years...........but id much prefer that to having Tamina suddenly dragged on tv and put into the title picture. I get that the roster like her and she’s probably a really nice person to be around and supports the other women massively when needed, but for a viewer she brings NOTHING and hasn't for YEARS, all she’s doing is taking up a roster spot that someone way more deserving could be in from NXT for example. And yes, ive seen the random accounts on Twitter hoping she wins the title............jeez

Wouldn't have a problem with any of the other women taking the win here, sucks that Dana had to pull out as she has really shown improvements the past few months and deserved her place here easily - BANKS 

Rhea Ripley (c) vs Charlotte: NXT Women’s Championship Match

So we definitely are back to saying ‘women’s’ champion again are we? They dropped it the other month but seem to have quickly gone back to it.

Big match for NXT here getting a Mania slot, I really hope that Charlotte doesn't get the win and belt but her winning opens up more fresh options for the future on the women’s division on the show. As long as Charlotte doesn't keep doing her thing of wearing massive heels in-ring to show how much bigger she is to everyone else, for some random reason it annoys me and doesn't need to even be done.

I feel if Charlotte does win the title they will very quickly move another NXT star over to Raw/Smackdown to replace her or hype a new debut upto the draft which MAY be soon - CHARLOTTE

Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins

The problem with having so many matches at Wrestlemania is that one like this goes so far under the radar its criminal, both guys are great and can pull out something special for the big show....not sure they get the time they will want even with a two night show. This feud will most likely continue so dont worry about who goes over - ROLLINS

Sami Zayn (c) vs Daniel Bryan: Intercontinental Championship Match

Exactly the same as the match before and even more so, a quality match that probably wont get the most time but will be a really fun ride to be on - ZAYN

Jimmy Uso vs John Morrison vs Kofi Kingston: Smackdown Tag Team Title Ladder Match

Yeah dont ask, they had to remove the Miz as he had Coronavirus symptoms but still wanted to do the ladder stipulation...

Honestly the tag division has to be up there for the most stale division in the company, similar to what I said about the women having the Uso’s and The New Day in a match in any combination is just soooooo over done.

i have a lot of depression symptoms right now.

lol i just went through the DSM criteria and i meet a lot of the criteria. its not important to me whether i actually qualify for diagnosis, more that it’s a wake up call to me that i need to change something. i thought i wasnt going to have to deal with feeling depressed this year. i really dont want to. -__-

i dont want to get help, i dont want to see a counselor, im too tired to rely on m and my friends for help. im gonna talk to m soon about it but i dont have energy to explain it to anyone else. its just the recurrent graduate school depression with insomnia and anxiety, completely normal. -__-

probably ever since i matched and even a little bit before, i havent wanted to talk to anyone but a few people and i almost never enjoy my alone time anymore. i always need it but it’s like ive forgotten how to enjoy it. im putting a lot of pressure on myself to be perfect in many ways because of the anticipation of next year so i’m constantly anxious and perfectionistic. i need to become a professional NOW and if i dont constantly work towards that im never going to get there. i am always worried that im not learning as fast as i should be, or i should be exceeding my supervisors’ expectations. nothing that has happened gives me the indication that these feelings are valid, but i can’t make them go away. i feel like ive forgotten how to remember my victories. im getting better at so many things but it’s just not enough. lots of my problems are caused by my own anxiety, and not a lot of people know the right way to respond when i tell them that. 

strangely enough, during internship app season i wasnt sleeping well and i was constantly in pain, but somehow i had enough fight in me to get through it. right now, despite having relatively less to do (except not that much less because i have to work on publication), i have no motivation to do anything. i eat a lot more when im not hungry and waking up when i dont have to is an impossibility. i go through the motions each day, i go through lots of motions but i dont see any point to it. even when i enjoy my work, i am annoyed by the fact that i have to relax afterwards because it takes so much effort to transition between work/play. the transitions are hard. i  feel like i could do these motions ad infinitum and maybe even enjoy some of them, but not enough to feel like life is worth living right now.

in terms of work satisfaction: i’ve reached a plateau in my learning at my two placements. i’ve gotten past that initial hump of not knowing what the hell im doing. i know lots of things but i’m not particularly great at anything, especially compared to those who’ve been working there for years and years (duh). i have to constantly be working hard to squelch and/or accept my high level of anxiety and comparison to others in order to function well. i think i’ve done a good job this year of being a humble learner and putting myself out there to try new things but it’s never easy. even when i’m eagerly absorbing things from other people, the act of conveying to others what i’m learning is tiring. i have never been one to externalize the fact that i “get” what other people are saying, but usually others have no other way to evaluate you. i’ve always felt that i’m a bit behind others when it comes to expressive communication and that i always have to work harder to compensate and make sure i’m saying the right thing to represent what i mean. because i’ve worked so hard on this for the past few years, i’ve improved a lot, but i’m never going to be able to communicate easily with others or be the one to direct the interpersonal dynamic. something that i’ll have to do as a supervisor or as a head psychologist or whatever position i may end up in later.

i think this will get better if i really take the time and heart to improve my self-care, but god i really fucking hate doing it. im not worried that this will get worse. i just need to get this all out so i can figure out what to do about it.

Chapter 1: “Lost Ones”

There is no other way to say all this but to just do it in chapters cause like many of us it really feels like things have been just pouring down on us, blow after blow these days. There has been so much going on that I feel it will also be easier to end each story or use a “to be continue”  when moving forward with sharing, as things did run into each other, piled on, and some are not done yet.

The end of 2019 and first few of months of 2020 have been rather bumpy to say the least.

I do want to let you know that it’s all seasons though, and as they come, they also go. And throughout it our faith has been tested and forged. But know that the light is always real and there- at the end of the tunnel and each chapter, and that light,  if i’ve not made it clear with my living and sharing is........ Jesus.

Let’s call this first Chapter:

“Lost Ones”

November 2019 I go in to see my kidney doctor for a routine appointment to go over my blood pressure and kidney health. This is the doctor that over the past 2 years had been helping me with the effects of my bad management of my type one diabetes. Was assigned to him cause of some swelling in my feet and legs back in January 2017.

He had been mentioning dialysis from the beginning and for a while but during these almost 3 years, Harelyn and I had changed up our nutrition so much so that I was feeling better and the symptoms that brought us to Him in the first place weren’t there. So here we are thinking everything is gucci! And we were in one way reversing things. 

See when we would come see Him he would share numbers concerning my kidney function and let me know that I had to do better but to me they where just numbers. Plus I was feeling 100% compared to when i first saw Him and not symptomatic. But this visit was different....

He shares: “Jeancarlo your creatinine level is at 4.0″, so my reaction to this info was pretty much the same, “Again with the numbers!”, but it didn't register until he used the words “ STAGE 4 KIDNEY FAILURE & END STAGE KIDNEY FAILURE.”

We finally arrived and were on the same page. The seriousness and weight of it all finally landed and hit home. It wasn’t that we were ignoring it, cause we were eating kidney friendly, low sodium meals, on top of our low carb diet to continue with my diabetes care.

See the damage was done, the past 5 years of great management did not hold up against 13 years of bad choices and bad management, this is what got the best of them.

“Lost Ones” 

So here He comes again with the dialysis talk, and i'm like there’s gotta be something else doc, cause i am feeling fine and i am working with no issues, i was not at the symptomatic point of the need to go on dialysis. He went on as to why I should, I honestly was just getting lost in His words, blurred concepts, as His voice muffled and continued to fade i snapped and was like “Doc, WAIT! Is there nothing we can do to preemptively fix this!?” He pauses for a moment and then says, “Well, there is also a Kidney  Transplant.” I thought to myself after and as i've shared this with people, like “MY GUY!!!! Why in the world would you not start with that instead of Dialysis!”

So, boom! Harelyn and I start doing our research, the Dr. sets up my appointments with the Transplant Team to get Hip and start into what this process looks like. 

March is Kidney month and if you are not aware 1 in 3 Adults thats approx. 80 Million people are at risk of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). 93K people are on the Kidney transplant waiting list. It takes between 5-7 Years if you are waiting on the list and don’t have a living donor. Those stats are for a deceased kidney. A living kidney donor’s wait time is drastically shorter and is dependant on different variables, but we are talking months compared to years.

So we are in prayer and trusting for miracle in whichever way God chooses to bring this Organ cause the odds had stacked up against us once again. 

We share the info with our parents and sibs and consider the risks and all the factors that come with a living donor and recipient scenario.

Its now January 2020 and some Living donors had stepped forward but no blood match had been found yet. Im still working and im feeling alright, until i start getting some back pain and swelling in my legs again.

 I go in to the ER and get admitted as they consider my blood work, numbers, and options to treat.  I am still trying to avoid dialysis like the plague, because i've seen the toll it takes on people and how withered away they seem after.

After a few days in there and prayers we’ve come to the understanding that its best to start dialysis while not symptomatic rather than in an emergency situation. To start it I would need to go through a small procedure and get these ports put in near my neck for the dialysis treatments. 

This is all temporary in our minds cause we have several living donors that are willing to gift us such an amazing gift, and some of them were pretty far ahead in their evaluation process. Also, we hadn’t gone public with the need either, so we had all these plans to start a campaign to extend the search for a Kidney. So we felt ok with starting, its been just over a month now since ive been on it. (but wait... keep reading)

So just so we are all caught up: Pause

November we Hit some critical numbers with the kidney failure and January we start the search for a living donor, and also are now considering starting dialysis temporarily given that we know for sure that there are Living Donors, and will potentially have more once we go public with things.

Ports are installed for dialysis and i am getting prepped to go in to my first session. Leading up to this there have been so many conversations of faith, words of encouragement shared, tears shed, doubts crushed, sight refocused, and we were ready, I was ready. 

The nurse finishes up connecting me to the most scary looking machine i've ever seen, she leans in and turns it on. 

At this point all i see is my blood pumping and flowing down one tube, entering the machine and returning on the other tube back into me.  I just closed my eyes and took a breath, remembered the peace that only God can provide and  exhaled. Then this happened!:

  5 MINUTES INTO MY FIRST SESSION 

I look over to my left and there is my wife with this look on her face and she says to me:

WE FOUND A DONOR WHO IS A MATCH!

I dont think ill ever know how to express with words the flood of emotion that took over me and the feeling of gratitude in that moment. 

It felt like a cheesy hallmark/lifetime movie. Super dramatic, but clutch. God was moving pieces around without us knowing and in a matter of months i found a donor. We still asked those who started the process to finish just in case, and if you are willing and would like to potentially join us in our health journey in this manner, we would love to talk and would be grateful as well.

Now things have gotten complicated because of this COVID19 business. Scheduling the transplant and any other procedures right now is tough. But we’re trusting and confident that all will work its way as we get closer.

We are floored and honored that God would use our family to show off His power, love, care, goodness, control, and best for us and all those that will know, hear, and read of our journey.
