What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?

TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf

Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!

Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!

Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.

I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.

Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? They helped him and Elita save their friends, and unlike Sentinal Optimus has the actual Matrix this time. Idk mang. Woulda liked a bit more.

Transformers One, not my favorite design for Starscream. The head vents going wide at the bottom look weird to me, and his legs are so long and flat.

colony ship!even prefers missy over simm!master because she treats them more like a person which isn’t so much better as it is new and interesting to them, the fact that colony ship!even prefers missy is part of why simm!master gets stabbed to death, the fact that they preferred missy over him is why when he regenerates into missy and loses those memories that she instinctively distances herself from even during s8 and ends up abandoning them towards the end of s9, the fact that missy won’t hold to her end of the codependency when future!even doesn’t remember why it fractured either is why they side more and more with simm!master as time passes on the colony ship because they want to survive, and so they don’t, can’t, protect missy when he lashes back out at her.

I grew up watching A LOT of super hero cartoons, some older like 1960s Spider-man and some newer like BTAS. Batman the Animated Series was definitely my all time favorite and still is to this day. Cant help being born in the ninties. Its a heavy cross to bare

I just think that there are some universal truths I like to have across all my batjokes, no matter what universe or situation theyre in. I want them UNSANE, UNSAFE, and WEIRDLY CONSENTUAL.

To me they are two guys who never should have crossed paths, but tragedy after tragedy in their own lives led them to the same place on the wrong night and ever since, they've been attached by the same fucked up red string of fate. Joker is obsessed with Batman because Batman helped craft him. Batman is obsessed with Joker for the exact same reason.

Batman thinks "I can fix him". He sees Joker as a fundamentally flawed, extremely dangerous, but most importantly unwell person. He needs to believe that theres hope for people like Joker.

Joker thinks "I can make him worse." His whole life revolves around their games together. He needs to fuck with Batman more than anything else in the whole world. He needs to pull Batman down to his level. If only he could finally get Batman to kill someone, to kill HIM. Then he can finally prove that Batman is just as unjust and chaotic and BROKEN as the rest of the world. No one is above the effects of society (BEATBOXING NOISES)

Joker is not cis at all also. That guy is not a man at all he is a woman. He is a gay man in the she/her way. He is high femme and high maintenance and is NOT A CHEAP GIRLIE. I do think that he does absolutely abuse and mistreat Harley in almost every iteration, I find it so difficult to imagine their story ever turning out a different way simply based on.... Well their relationship is always an awful power dynamic that shouldnt ever have happened.

In a perfect world like Lego Batman I can see them being best friends. Gal pals. Maybe Harley is the first woman who ever makes Joker feel like a woman, and thats special. Sure, Joker is married to his work, but he loves her. He loves her deeply in the way that queer people have been loving each other for hundreds and thousands of years; without label or limits. He cant imagine being without her in his bedroom at 3am on hot Gotham summer nights. The hyenas are just an annoying add on to his already stupidly annoying life. Just like Harley's gf Ivy is.

I was kind of hoping that the new Joker Folie movie would do something cool about Joker and Harley's relationship. But as a DC fan you kind of just learn to deal with disappointment. I havent seen it yet, and dunno if I will. I think if anyone had a shot at being an actually interesting and net positive relationship between them would have been that specific iteration of Joker meeting Harley not as a doctor, but as a pop star. A beautiful, very high in society. A woman who when she speaks, people listen

I also think that Joker should never care too, too much about finding out Bruce's true identity. I think the anonymity of their tussles is an incredibly vital part for Joker. I think it probably perplexes Batman, maybe even disturbs him a little the lengths that Joker will purposefully go to in order to keep the secret. He doesnt want to know AT ALL and yet is utterly obsessed with him either way. The same way that he doesnt ACTUALLY want to kill Batman. Because if he kills Batman, he'll be killing his whole drive for life. He'd be killing himself

Also Bruce is bisexual and also falls in love with so many people in the queer way, thats why hes always checking up on Gotham Asylum patients. His massive evil gotham polycule that he refuses to call that

reader has no idea where they are once they escape and luckily they're out before the pregnancy is too far a long or that the scum bags ( looks at naoya because we gotta make a bad guy here ) realize theyre with baby and does something about that ( they'd be bitting so hard that she's tearing flesh if someone tried )

either way the settlement they make it to has a resident doctor named shoko, old friends with sherif satoru, she's quick to pick up the reader is with kid and takes them under her wing

its a while before the fact either of them know if satoru comes to light and theyre a bit farther in the pregnancy but either way, satoru's message more or less tells them to stay with shoko given, uh, situation back in the settlement they grew up in isn't looking great ( the old ranch was sold as it was assumed they were gone for good and no family left ), and, uh, moving is bad for the kid

he completely fails to deliver news that suguru has gone awol, shoko knows about this because satoru had a cry with her about this, but telling the reader about this might stress them out abbr hurt the baby, its only after the child is born do they get this news and theyre so crushed by this and how people they knew their whole life turned a blind eye to the chaos on the ranch the day they got kidnapped ( they GET IT tho, they didn't want to put their loved ones in danger too but it sucks ) but they're more worried about suguru, is he okay out there?

So when word gets around about Suguru being a hero and yet a bandit, cleaning up the zenin gang's mess, theyre all cheering for it and collecting clippings from papers that reach them and a wanted poster or two in a box under their bed.

Also in Shoko's settlement, men are trying to woo them left and right, their tike needs a father right? Who's gonna marry a soiled dame like you? I'm the best you'll get pretty thing! ( cue utahime bustin out her shop with a broom to beat them ) they obviously reject these advances saying theyre loyal to the love of their life, the father of their child.

So when a cluster of Zenin gang members roll up into the settlement and Suguru ( and Satoru into the background ) roll up to save the day, they're starstruck by this messy yet handsome man for a moment but quickly focus on their child, gathering them in their arms and kissing them, so glad theyre safe when the man calls out their name and watching tears weld up in his eyes, taking shaky and uncertain steps forward

They realize, oh, it's Suguru. He looks like a mess and they can't help but worry. They meet him half way and the moment their hand touches his face, tears begin to fall.

"Oh baby," they whisper so softly, so tenderly, as the wipe those tears away with their thumb. Suguru leans into that touch. Clutching that very hand, as if he's afraid he lets go again, he'll never see them again. "Ya look so tired. . . Come 're. . ." They give him a hug, like they always have.

Their child is squished between them and they dont really get it but their tiny hands try to hug their savior as well. After all, mama gives them hugs when theyre sad like this mister.

Yeah funsandkid totally fights but its more for fun and just adrenaline versus the usual funkobra fighting for pent up whatever for sanity etc. The three of them are their own little fight club idk if I'll ever get to writing anything about it but they'd try keeping it secret from Benz because. Doctor and sorta leader of the suitehearts they all think he'd be pissed bc they're unnecessarily hurting eacother or whatever even though they never go too far its just scrapes and bruises at the end of the day and an occasional black eye or split lip or something. Very rarely do they get seriously hurt aside from ghoul accidentally breaking kobras nose once. I also think benz wouldn't like kobra that much like hed be thick as theives with jet star i bet bc they have a medic/tired mom kind of bond. Anyway i think kobra gets sandman into racing and benz doesnt like kobra for that bc it means. I mean hes like its a hobby cool sandman needs more hobbies. He just doesn't like it bc its kobra and bc sandmans away from base more often its just best freind jealousy yknow hed used to fighting alongside sandman and them being super close but now kobra and ghoul are getting all the attention. But eventually like kobra and ghoul are around all the time and eventually hes just indifferent hes used to their bullshit he dosnt hate kobra hes just annoyed by him at worst. When he learns they like to fight eachother he isnt pissed like they think like he gives them a lecture but ultimately his reaction is just like. A heavy sigh and a "fine" yknow. Like i said hes used to their shit and hes not happy that theyre beating eachother up but he can see they clearly have like a system about it and make sure bot to go too far and take care of eachothers wounds if theres any so hes like as long as you dont waste our medical supplies i dont give a shit just dont concuss eachother.

BUT. If its the Dr Frankenstein Dr Benzedrine and frankenghoul thing im building, he would have a muchh different reaction because if ghouls his creation hed have a love hate relationship with it like any like parent and their kid hed hate that ghoul maybe didn't turn out exactly how he wanted like not being like him or hed hate that ghoul hates him because ghoul Would hate him, he'd have a sense of loyalty to benz and feel like he owes him it but also hed hate benz for like. Dude you literally made me alive but you wont let me like go be a person or do half these things fuck you. Because yeah benz is super protective of him. In this case ghoul would have a ton of pent up anger and sandman would be sympathetic with his needs to like fucking live and would sneak him out to have fun behind benz back and then theyd meet kobra and in this case if benz found them sneaking off to party or whatever, let alone fighting eachother for fun, hed freak the fuck out cause hes so protective of ghoul and hed yell abt them putting it in danger and risking ghouls health and shit becaue like. He made ghoul and hes scared ghoul could be unmade basically. Hes scared bc hes a crazy mad scienist and grafted different peoples body parts together or whatever and hes scared of ghoul literally falling apart at the seams but like ghouls tougher than benz thinks he is and maybe he'll see that eventually, but at the moment hed be pissed at them all and hed like try to keep ghoul and sandman separated and hed ban them from seeing kobra, which yknow it just makes them all hate him more rip and totally leads to ghoul fucking running away and joining the fab four and sandman probably fucking off to stick with his boyfriends and it totally makes the crews have a rivalry and shit until they all talk it out and forgive eachother, to their extents

Headcanons for things that i think were probably actually just bad writing choices

(Disclaimer: I'm not justifying any of these things, characters are allowed to do bad things and be flawed. This is just how I choose to see things)

Rose telling that kid to go after his abusive dad in the idiots lantern was actually because she was projecting her own issues about her dad onto him. She never got to have her dad in her life so she can't concieve that some people might actually be better off without their dad

Martha saying "good old rose" in Utopia isnt just because she's jealous while jack and the doctor are celebrating Rose literally being alive, it's because she just made another new friend only to once again find out that she's sort of an outsider. It's not about jealousy, its about being on the other side of the universe from everything you know and the only people you can rely on feel like they have their own little group that you're not a part of

Side note: these lyrics for Martha

During the year that never was, the master would sometimes have really bad spells of the drums, during one of these spells Lucy tried to help but he was frustrated and lashed out, which is how she got the bruise. It was wrong and he definitely didn't apologise but it wasn't malicious and didn't happen again. (To be clear, I think the master does and is capable of many malicious things, this is just a line that I don't want crossed)

Amy is asexual but overcompensates and tries to act the way she thinks people want her too. I can't remember if it's said in the episode but there's a minisode where Amy seems convinced the doctor only brought her along bc he's interested in her, hence the infamous kiss. She's also self-sabotaging because while she loves rory, she feels guilty because she probably doesn't love him the same way he loves her

The definition of "system" that refers to types of societies never crossed the doctors mind during Kerblam! She was always referring to the computer systems (this one may actually be somewhat canon im not sure, im not 100% convinced kerblam was intended as an endorsement of capitalism)

The doctor left the master to the nazis bc she was pissed about Bills death and being abandoned. There's not really much more explanation to this, I just think the doctor is very capable of doing terrible things and this was one of them (see also: threatening to sic the cybermen and daleks on Ashildr, the family of blood situation, killing the racnoss children etc). Writing wise, they should never have crossed that particular line. Character wise i think if you piss the doctor off enough then they tend to lose all morals

Additionally I think the doctor also sees the master as indestructible. In a way its a compliment but it just often leads to the doctor leaving the master in dangerous situations and thinking it doesn't matter bc they'll always survive anyway. And of course the master will never tell the doctor that it's hurtful when they do this so the doctor thinks the master doesn't care about it (this isn't really a bad writing choice one, its just a thing I think. And i think it influences the previous point)

The doctor was so happy in the specials and didn't mention yaz at all because they're actually just a huuuuuge liar. The second donna leaves he breaks down. He loves donna but he misses his other friends, he misses Yaz. Sometimes he thinks about going to see her but he knows it wouldn't be fair to her

Tldr everyone sucks, theyre all a mess, and I love them

I truly don’t know if I’m going to have more or fewer thoughts (other than screaming in agony) while watching this

He has such an intense desire to do what is right and good, but he’s also spent MILLENNIA just being TOLD what is right and good, and now he has to decide for himself and it’s terrifying (so. For anyone reading who doesn’t know, this episode is told from Cas’s point of view and he has many a monologue. Basically every time I just say “he” and don’t have a different name preceding it, it’s probably safe to assume I’m talking about Castiel)

Dean wants to believe this so badly…

I just…I really don’t know how the boys think they can really help the heavenly civil war effort. You can say you want to help all you want but…every time he tells you about it, you brush it off as unimportant (I AM a cas apologist through and through)

Don’t mind me. I just…when the someone CALLS an actual angel “angel” but in any level of derogatory way? As in “the stench of that Impala is all over your overcoat, angel.” It’s a little hot. Cas and Crowley bickering. Crowley saying “I thought we agreed, no more nights out with the boys.” The illicit nature of their partnership is JUICY AF

THE BETRAYAL AND LYING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THISSSS. THEY’RE lying to Cas about hunting down Crowley and how close they’re getting, just playing it like everything’s normal. CAS is lying to them about working with Crowley, and now spying on them having a conversation about how they don’t trust him, no matter how much they want to. And DEAN. Oh Dean is resisting and getting very defensive. It IS tragic

And even though all of this betrayal, he’s still trying to protect the boys. I mean, yeah, not letting them get to Crowley also protects himself but…I did say I was an apologist, right?

I can’t even imagine what it would be like to rip up the universe’s script, to choose freedom and free will, and then to come back home and have everyone expect you to start handing out orders.

“If I knew then what I know now, I might have said ‘it’s simple. Freedom is a length of rope. God wants you to hang yourself with it,’” IS too raw of a line to come from the CW’s Supernatural. And yet…

Raphael’s voice though………it makes me get a little hair twirly. Sure he’s threatening babygirl and telling him to pledge allegiance to him and then get the apocalypse going again, but damn

But the line “for a brief moment, I was me again” always hits me like a sack of bricks. He’s just revealed that he’s actually there after not doing so when the boys originally called and saved their asses from some of Crowley’s best demons. And for that time, he was the Cas they all knew and trusted and were friends with, who was part of Team Free Will with them. And like….damn if that isn’t everyone who has had to hide a part of themselves (sure, you’re probably not hiding working with the king of hell while you’re fighting a war over control of heaven) but gets that one scrap of validation from those who’ve mattered to you even though it’s all wrong. And for a moment, that validation feels better than anything, but you’re gonna hate it later because it’s not true

Fuck. The hurt on Dean’s face once he realizes all his faith and loyalty, all the times he defended Castiel to Sam and Bobby…and Cas was lying the whole time

“You don’t think I know what this is about? The big lie. The Winchesters still buy it. The good Cas. The righteous Cas. As long as they still believe it, you get to believe it” also punches me in the gut.

Cas threatening to tear down his entire arrangement with Crowley if any harm comes to the Winchesters thoooooooough “I’m still and angel, and I will bury you”

Castiel watching Dean rake leaves and deciding against asking him to sacrifice more after he’d already done so much. 😭😭😭😭

Honestly, Crowley’s version of hell IS effective. It’s just one long line you have to wait in, and the moment you get to the front, you find yourself all the way at the back again. THAT’s torture

Crowley really knows how to stroke egos…Cas went from being disgusted by being asked to basically be the next Lucifer to agreeing to this arrangement in one 5 minute conversation. And all he had to do was hit on a few topics: Cas not wanting to reverse everything Team Free Will worked so hard for, saying god chose Castiel for this (which really isn’t helped by the fact that he was inexplicably brought back and then a whole bunch of angels looking to him to lead, too).

The next scene where they trap Cas in the ring of fire is so tense but then Dean breaks it (at least from an audience perspective) by saying “you know who spies on people, Cas? Spies.” Boy, bye.

Bestie, like you weren’t working FOR Crowley just earlier this season. Oh? You had reasons? You think Castiel doesn’t??

Babes, that’s all you do, make deals with devils. Don’t lie, Dean. Literally why is it only a problem when Castiel does it??

BUT LITERALLY WHAT WOULD THEY HAVE DONE TO HELP??? I know I know Crowley said to not underestimate the Winchesters, that that was a mistake Lucifer, Michael, Lilith, and Azazel made, but so many of those were when the boys were extra special. They’re not meant to be vessels for two extremely powerful angels now.

And even in this moment when it all unravels and no one trusts him and he can’t move more than two feet in any direction, he still tells them to run to save them

That scene’s so heartbreaking. Cas and Dean standing in front of an (incorrectly) angel-proofed window at Bobby’s having to come to terms with their irreconcilable differences, wishing the other would just listen

The number of times he’s called himself a fallen angel and yet ends this episode crying and pleading his father to just give one sign that he’s doing the right thing. Just one word would either give him the courage to do what he needs to do or back down from what he’s doing. And he gets nothing.

watching steven universe for the first time. still on season 1. im noticing over half of the episodes are like... it's like regular show in that the first like half of the episode is relatively normal and kind of slice of life??? or at the very least just kind of stuff happening, and then after that shit picks up to a thousand, but unlike regular show it's taken super seriously and oftentimes what feels like act 3 movie character development happens out of nowhere. like idk some of these episodes have moments that would feel more deserved if there was more buildup or if it was part of like a multi-part special or something.

oswald watches as the doctor does his job, frozen in place. you... you love him back.

he can't wait until you wake up, so he can tell you just how requited your love is.

so all i can think is how it can be like a direct parallel to when ten carried donna to her doorstep and just the sad "help me" when wilf opened the door?? okay hear me out  

like the doctor gets hurt somehow and knows shes dying so she tells yaz to get away so she can find somewhere safe since theyre away from the tardis.

(maybe dan is there as well? but i kinda imagine this whole scenario to be with no dan?? idk he can be there too if he wants its not that big of a deal i just dont want to have to juggle more characters if i dont have to) (like idk if he’d really do much other than support yaz through the aftermath but i digress)

yaz absolutely will not leave the doctor and will not have any of her nonsense and drags her back to her family's flat because they're close by despite the doctor’s protests - she hopes no one is home because how would she explain what's going on, she hardly even knows what's going on

she's fumbling with the key trying to get the door open but najia hears the commotion and opens the door to yaz sobbing and the doctor looking in a bad way. theres a beat where she just stands in silence, unsure what to do.

yaz is confused, upset, panicking. she’s maybe a bit more harsh with her mum than she normally would be

“either help me or get out of the way, mum”

obviously najia lets them in but she hasn't seen yaz in a year or so and wants to demand explanation but also her daughter’s weird friend probably needs medical attention. yaz insists she not call an ambulance and that everything will be okay but clearly not because the woman looks like she's dying

they guide the doctor to the sofa, neither of them know what to do. but the doctor is trying to explain everything, how she is actively dying and is going to change. how it’s very dangerous and destructive and she shouldnt be in their flat, but more importantly that neither of them should be this close when the regeneration actually happens.

yaz’s mum doesn’t even know the doctor is an alien, all of this information just sounds like a bunch of nonsense, but yaz insists she will explain when everything is over, but right now isn’t a good time obviously

the doctor gives her best attempt at a speech, thanking yaz for everything she's done and how she's helped her grow etc etc. she tells najia she raised a wonderful woman who is smart and brave etc etc. in which she still doesn't get any explanation on who the doctor is/what she is/how yaz knows her/what their relationship is like. 

the doctor knows its coming, she tells everyone to back away and yaz of course refuses, but i think a callback to arachnids where yaz tells her mum that she "owes the doctor her life a few times over" would be super heartbreaking so im going to include it

"yaz you don't owe me your life, you don't owe me anything but please don't make me push you away again. please just get away."

people want their first and only kiss to be during the doctors regeneration so that would fit here!!! obv i would love for them to kiss before this but either way you could fit a kiss in here okay.... like the doctor has admitted her admiration for yaz and its a heat of the moment thing where yaz is going to lose her so she just goes in for it??? its short and desperate and everything is bathed in a golden light (it could have similar visuals to nine’s regen 👀) and its beautiful and sad and painful. yaz has to force herself to back away just in time for the regeneration to happen

also if they kiss like right in front of najia it would be fun bc she clocked them back in series 11 and yaz denied it so hard. jfhsjfh esp if dan is there because he would literally cheer them on fsjdfjjkj

yaz didnt know what to expect but there’s literally a different person sitting in the spot the doctor was just in. she can put two and two together but that doesnt make her any less confused. new doctor says funny introduction line like always. yaz and her mum share a confused look. end of episode.

next episode we start back on the sofa, maybe some of the flat is a little destroyed but its fine, everythings fine. new doctor is high on regeneration energy, yaz and mum still super confused. new doctor starts walking around, being clumsy, etc. we get the usual hijinks where the doctor doesnt know who they are, doesnt know who their companion is, and just needs to sleep. 

yaz of course i think would react similarly to rose where she kinda doesnt believe its the doctor, but more than anything is like.. hurt and confused that this doctor is not the same as her doctor. her mum has SO MANY questions, naturally. her first of course being “did you just kiss the doctor? so i was right you ARE seeing each other.”

while the doctor sleeps somewhere, yaz and najia sit down and have a long conversation about the doctor and who she was/who they are now, why they changed, where yaz has been this whole time, etc., if we imagine dan in this scenario she would DEFINITELY ask about him.. like last time you brought your friends around there was a different old man what is this about.

like her mum deserves an explanation after so long without yaz around and why she ruined her prospects with the police for some alien who just died on their couch????? 

i really dont know how to end this but thats really only as far as im planning this in my head bc otherwise ill write a whole episode

Well theyre all really good tbh One of my favourites is Vampires Will Never Hurt You (from the album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love which is generally shortened to 'Bullets'), it was the first song I listened to from the Bullets album, and I wasnt really sure about it at first but I love the concept, and the bit thats like 'Someone call the doctor, and someone call the nurse! And someone buy me roses, and someone burn the church.... we're hanging out with corpses and driving endless hearse and someone save my soull *insert mostly incoherent screaming about saving souls*' which just sounds so cool. Its kinda post hardcore ig? Another favourite would have to be Famous Last Words which just goes SO hard and its crazy tbh. Gerard Way wrote it about his brother (Mikey) wanting to leave the band, and its (nearly) the closing track of The Black Parade (their most famous album and the reason theyre known as 'emo'). It has a music video too and everythings LITERALLY ON FIRE (also at the time Gerard was afraid of fire) and its literally insane. I love the opening most, but also the bridge which goes 'And I see you lying next to me... with words I thought I'd never speak, awake and unafraid... asleep or dead?' and You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prisons was one of the first tracks I listened to in Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, and its kinda weird tbh (have i spoken about this before to you? I think i have-) and I love the concept and also the second verse, and how the second verse just seems SO deranged and then SO desperate, and then how it goes from kinda like calm to fucking screaming is AMAZING Summertime is amazing too, although arguably Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys is like the worst album (I love it. First mcr CD I got, and first MCR album I listened to). its kinda like a love song ig? and I relate to parts too. (also theres 2 comics stemmed from the album and I LOVE them so much). My fav part would be the part in the second verse that goes like 'Terrified of what I'd be, as a kid from what Ive seen, every single day when people try to put the pieces back together, just to smash them down... turn my headphones up real loud... I dont think I need them now... cos you stop the noise and-' which kinda just connects to me ig. I want someone who makes it so i dont need my headphones... also Tomorrows Money from the technically fanmade album known as Conventional Weapons, which has 10 tracks put into 5 singles titled 'number one' and so on. At the start its kinda like screaming (but not really?), which I cant entirely understand but uh yeah its like 'Fell in love with a vampire... touch(?) up for the empire... fell in love with the brushfire baby, you gonna take it from here? I'm gonna take it from you...' and yeah its AMAZING All The Angels is fun too, one of the calmest and most depressing (not as much as Cancer (the song) tho), my fave part is 'She went alone... and went to the emergency... and parked her car in the dark... they told her please... he's only got but minutes more... you might just say goodbye' and it just hits HARD even tho its technically just like a live demo thing for the 10th anniversary of The Black Parade. S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W is great too, its one of the calmest from Danger Days, and its about tricking your child into a bunker when a nuclear war starts. Dark meaning, I know. Also Foundations of Decay, their most recent track, from when they got back together in like 2020. Its amazing. People call it the hardest song mcr have ever done, and its crazy. It starts out all staticy like, and then its just INSANE!!! my fav part would be in the second verse, technically prechorus where its like 'But its much to late, you're in the race, so we'll press... and press till you cant take it any more!!!' And uh yeah, thats my fav from each album plus a few more which I had to do

I'm not fully okay I think Im being overstimulated by all these fucking noises and they wont stop and im tired and Im out for 5 more hours, one more hour of this then 1 and a half of being in a concert band and then half an hour break (less probably) and then some dumb thing my stupid self volunteered for where I have to answer questions and lead activities related to this hellhole (as in where i am irl thats leading to all this fucking overstimulation) and I cant even fucking get peace and quiet cos I'm coughing too fucking much and I hate this i hate this i hate this why the fuck wont everyone shut up stupid people stupid paper stupid machines stupid air conditioner stupid cough

ok take all of this w a grain of salt bc im typing w my eyes closed and my brain scrambled but as we all know i have a ton of opinions about doctor who and i will subject you to them or die trying

like the thing is. the doctor isnt special bc hes smart. hes not special bc hes clever or mysterious. he has advantages over ordinary humans bc he has alien knowledge and he has the time and space travel and regeneration and all that. but those advantages dont make him any better than them, fundamentally, and he knows that, and thats the core of his character. thats why the master, one of his greatest recurring antagonists and narrative foils, firmly believes that humans should be subjugated under time lords.

what makes the doctor special is how much he cares about people. what makes him special is that he uses his advantages to save people and to help people and to meet people bc he likes people. he loves people. thats the POINT. and ik this started as a rant about that one line from evangelista but it was always a rant about how that one line is indicative of everything thats wrong w moffat.

and i just think its funny that those two moffat eps (which are, on the whole, really good eps. but still Moffat Eps) are followed immediately by midnight, which is not only one of the best eps of the entire show, but specifically really really good at that human element that moffat just keeps missing. bc what gets to all those people, what worms its way into their brains, is just fear and ego and pride and letting their differences divide them.

like, professor hobbes is the perfect example of someone who thinks hes better than other people bc of how smart and learned he is. and the ep makes it very clear that this is asshole behavior on his part and not a good trait to have. and when the doctor does try to "pull rank" so to speak, he is doing it bc he genuinely has the best chance of actually solving the problem, and bc hes panicking a little bit himself. and they dont listen to him bc they think that hes acting superior, but hes not. hes not just arbitrarily deciding that hes in charge bc hes smarter than them, hes saying that he has the experience and the ability to figure out whats going on.

and the thing is, the humans on that bus dont have the experience, but they have deductive reasoning (actual regular ass deductive reasoning, not bbc sherlock deductive reasoning) and they are able to figure it out, given all the preceding events and everything the doctor said. after it gets to the doctor, after hes out of commission, dee dee and the hostess both see the truth and try to tell everyone else whats going on, and theyre only unable to convince them bc everyones too worked up and scared. also theyre both black women but i think im not gonna give the show enough credit to say they were making a Statement with that.

anyway silence in the library/forest of the dead is a fantastic story, really, i love those two eps, but there are flaws, and i think all of those flaws are moffat-typical flaws. its a decent group of people, but not a great one; the one-off characters are. how do i put this. theres some nuance, but theyre not necessarily complex. and their lives mean very little, and their deaths mean even less (which is a thing that moffat does).

to the doctor its a big deal, and to river its a big deal, but to the audience? maybe this is just me, but i didnt really feel anything for any of them except at the most emotional moments (evangelista as a data ghost, and anita asking the doctor for reassurance). i feel sympathy for them when theyre dying horribly, but thats it.

contrast that with midnight, which has a brilliant cast of characters where every person is a person. where the most devastating moment is when they realize that none of them know the name of the woman who sacrificed herself to save all of their lives. where i feel connected to several characters and their journeys and their personalities, not just bc theyre in mortal danger, but bc theyre good characters. where i can understand all of their strong emotions and how that leads to their morally questionable decisions.

basically, if i may be permitted an oversimplification, midnight is an episode that illustrates what would and should happen if people responded realistically in a situation where everyone is in danger and confused and scared. moffat had some of that with lux, some of that instinctual push back against the doctors assumed authority, but it was bc lux himself had personal demons, not bc thats just how a human being reacts in a situation like that. bc moffat has trouble conceptualizing characters who dont see the doctor as some mysterious magic guy with all the power and knowledge.

its like. you know that scene in the impossible planet, where the doctor is like "yeah but you trust me dont you? go on look me in the eye. yes you do, i can see it. trust." and zach agrees to let him go bc frankly zach doesnt have much of an ego and zach is a really good guy, and the doctor isnt trying to take control hes offering to help, and most importantly, zach is desperate and working with a skeleton crew where everyone who hasnt died already is in danger of doing so very soon.

so like, yeah, theres something to be said for the doctors ability to use clever words to manipulate people into letting him help. theres a lot to be said for the fact that he often cant get people to trust him unless he flat out lies to them, bc the truth is so fantastical. and when it comes down to the big moments, like that little speech he gives in voyage of the damned, people are either going to believe him and trust that he knows what hes doing or theyre not. and obviously i dont have any real statistics to back this up but i think moffat has a really hard time writing characters who dont believe the doctor and trust him. and when he does write those characters, he likes to humble them by showing off how brilliant and clever the doctor is, rather than admitting that trusting the doctor is realistically the harder option for most people.

you'll get to learn more about them, yeah! i dont want that to span through 6 or 7 consecutive chapters of exposition because thats sooooo boring!

there will be some chapters dedicated to them but it'll be split with screen time with the band and sun/moon!

one thing for sure, the blooms refer to each other as brother and sister

i know some people are curious about them so i'll give ya a little snippet about them! 🤫

also they dont have trauma, theyre blank slates until you (the reader) got hire. you are their trauma

WARNING: ITS GONNA BE LONG UNDER THE CUT

mother dove is the doctor, shes the boss that runs the operation and the overmind

right under her is sonny who is the head nurse (still part of the nurse blooms)

then its the other nurse blooms (raph, hayden, poppy, starri, and celia)

and the helper blooms (little helpers) are at the bottom

mother is a large stationary dove animatronic, her body is built into the wall so she cant leave her area at all. she doesn’t open her eyes because she can see through the nurses and little helpers cameras thanks to being a hivemind. she can control any of the blooms if she wishes but it doesn’t happen too often because she doesn’t want them to give up their autonomy for her. it is mostly used when a patient is in critical condition. when she does control a bloom, their eyes will turn white. no pupil, just stark white and her voice will come through.

mother is the most developed out of all the blooms because i love her so much! she was made first and then the nurses and the forest were made around her because i love the idea of a HUUUUGE stationary robot (DJMM as an example but DJMM isn’t as stationary as mother)

like her name suggests, she is a mother or loving grandmother!  she has a soothing and sweet voice, sounding much like a grandmother who lives in a little cottage in the woods! 

her sweet comforting voice can lure you into a false sense of security as mother dove is not as she seems

she means well and what she does is for the good of everyone, with that in mind, she is very protective and possessive of all that comes through her doors

"mother knows best" is what she likes to say

it takes a lot for her to get angered but when she is

she is a force to be reckoned with

sonny is a freak. he is a freak. pure lovestruck yandere vibes

his eyes only opens when hes focusing on one singular person or item

or when mother dove is in control of his body

he gets mistaken as sun but he doesnt mind it , they’re both very yellow and their silhouette are almost the same

sonny is mostly silent when he is not interacting with a child. his vocabulary is advanced and mature, more so than the other nurses. of course, he dumbs down his language so children can understand him

calm and collective, he is the first nurse bloom that mother will call and request because of his composure and ability to not overheat in stressful situations

he is the golden child of the nurse blooms

what mother doesnt know is he is very very smart

he is dangerously smart and clever

extremely manipulative, possessive and obsessive

he is able to go offline for 3 hours from mothers hivemind without her knowing

he uses those 3 hours to do things 

he is incredibly in love with you ever since he laid eyes on you

often opening his eyes to view and observe you from a distance or even up close

hed kill for you

lie for you

die for you

he loves you

raph's personality is dramatic and playful

he loves to entertain children and tease them

he doesnt take many things seriously and often fights with sonny because of their opposing personalities

despite being a rose, the symbol for love romance and passion, raph is extremely awkward and often turns down or doesnt understand when a guest is flirting with him even though he is in love with the idea of love and romance

hes kind of pathetic, honestly

but in an endearing way

he speaks quick and haughtily, probably like someone who peaked in highschool drama class 

he often whimpers and whines

strangely, he gets along with damon

hes kind of an idiot

haydens gentle and caring

his main purpose is to calm down patients who are panicking so he speaks very sweet and soft

he talks slow and clearly, never once rising his voice

hayden is very lax and easygoing, he doesnt stress over the big stuff and often gets left to take care of small injuries like papercuts because of his personality

he does very well with children

it seems like hayden knows more than he lets on

people like to say and think that he hides a raging storm within him but... no

hes just a soft robot who likes to sit in mothers nest

hes also extremely lazy, he doesnt like doing his job unless he absolutely has to and plays with kids and the helper blooms in the forest during open hours. after hours though, you can catch him sleeping in odd places in the plex to avoid having to do housekeeping in the infirmary

despite his sleepiness, hes very playful and teasing

poppy was based off every valley girl ive ever met

she keeps her eyes closed during open hours because out of the nurses, her eyes are a dark brown which doesn’t glow in the dim lighting and shes insecure about that. well her eyes do glow but not the pupils- just her sclera (a lot like how i write moons eyes) she just doesnt think it looks pretty on her and she doesnt want to scare the kids

she has a quirk where she likes to clasp her hands together and press them against her cheek, bending over and swaying from side to side when she is happy or excited

poppy stands at 9ft and because shes so tall, she’s always hunched over to make herself appear smaller so she doesnt scare the guests

she’s a peppy girl, she loves to talk and make others feel like theyre on top of the world

laughter is the best medicine and compliments and good reinforcements are even better!

she never wants anyone to leave the infirmary upset and no children or teen will leave without a lollipop in their hand and a smile on their face

very energetic, gives valley girl vibes which makes it easy for her to communicate with little girls (meaning she uses “um”, “like”, “totally” etc. she uptalks too so everything she says sounds like shes asking a question)

i love poppy, shes the first nurse bloom i actually sat down and thought about

starri looks sweet but she is the most playful and mischievous of the nurse blooms

she likes to cause trouble and play pranks

very harmless and fun, just to keep the children happy and relaxed

she is the clown among the nurse blooms, thats what she was programmed to be along with, of course, being a nurse

starri’s a fun nurse to write because shes so impish like a little gremlin

she gets into a lot of trouble so mother keeps her on a tight leash

her voice box has been broken for a while and since they were made by a third party company due to budgeting going mostly towards and glamrocks and the daycare attendants, it has been hard for the company to get a replacement for her

because of her programming, she is able to communicate with ASL

when controlling her, mother also has to use ASL

starri does sometime forget she cant talk but it’s very rarely does she open her mouth

when she does though, its not pretty and she gets really embarrassed about it

the voice box broke because she laughed too hard

celia should be head nurse but because mother praises sonny so much, it was given to him instead

she carries herself elegantly

a sophisticated animatronic who has an aura of wisdom and experience around her

celia is extremely highstrung and actively chases mothers praise. celia is the golden child in terms of her work ethic, morals, and the way she carries herself

she doesnt hate sonny for being what she could be though but it does get on her nerves sometimes

she keeps everyone in order, nags on hayden the most, always makes sure people have something to do-- she likes to micromanage because everything has to be perfect

despite her looking like the epitome of big sexy woman, she is disgusted when humans come onto her with sexual advances

she also has impostor syndrome (which is probably why shes always on everyones back and hovering)

the one where she tends to overwork herself to make up for how useless she feels

this is because she is prone to aggression (like bonnie and monty)

which sends her to parts and services

she was just programmed that way
